Speaker 1 (00:31):
Hmm.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Hey, welcome to cruise.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Ok, but mango Emily. And today we are.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Joined by our very special guest from right down the road,
you know, across the pond, all the way over in England.
We are joined by Adam from Hating the Turn Bucal.
Thank you so much for coming on the show. We've
been trying to get you on.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
For a while.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I know, yeah you've been on my show a few times,
and yeah you've been on my show a few times.
And it's great to finally get onto your guy's show.
He finally made it happen, and here to discuss that
exciting thing called the C two.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
You know everyone talks about, Oh, they're excited for Christmas,
They're excited for Thanksgiving. I'm excited for Continental Season.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Baby.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
This is my timing year. This is one of my
favorite tournaments besides the g One.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
I love it, but I love even more that people
are talking about how awesome not just this Continental Classic is,
but new fans are going back and watching the old one,
which to me that says everything. If you can get
the old matches over a year later, clearly something was

(01:38):
on fire.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Definitely now I do enjoy I had to go back
and look at it myself. Actually, when I was away,
I was just scrolling through it because I knew it
was coming up, and you are right and Mongo. It
is like every you sort of look at it, you
go like Chris Thanksgiving. Then your OK, so I hope
you had a good Thanksgiving. By the way, I should
have said that at the start. But you look at
it and go right Thanksgiving and then you're like C
two and then Chris and it all rolls into one

(02:01):
really nicely. So this is I do love aw this
tim Yeah, I love it all year, but this time
of year especially because of that with that brilliant tournament
that they do.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
And it's good too because it tends to be especially
with Tony Kahan being busy with the Jaguars and Fulham.
It really seems like post all in there's always kind
of like a lull and sometimes it seems like, yeah,
there's matches, there's storylines, but it doesn't always quite hit
the way you want.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
But then you have the Continental Classic hit.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
You have these matchups, you get stories born out of it,
you get some redemptions, and you get some people who
maybe you didn't think too highly of originally, but now
they got that little bit of magic. They got that
the ott rub you know, Ricochet rarely last year kind
of came into his own as a heel and now
this year he's the national champion about to fight and
Ring of Honor and travel the world with a new championship.
So I think it can really help get that next

(02:48):
crop of talent over to the next year and kind
of get that twenty twenty six started off strong.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Indeed, we can't mention Fulham by the way they beat
my club yesterday. Oh no, I can't be dealing with that.
I saw Tony tweet and I was like, I'm not
going to tweet on it. Yeah, they beat Tottenham yesterday,
which is my team over here. So soccer, I know,
soccer to the But you say that, And the other
thing that I would say that I love about the
Continental Classic is the first one I believe when Brody
King was in it, because like a lot of times

(03:14):
out of ten you see them in like the he
was in the House of Black at the time. And
I said this actually in the interview which will be
dropping I think tomorrow with Bishop Cohn, that like sometimes
you forget just how good people are. Singly because they're
in these teams and Brody King for me was a shiner.
And I think this week we're going to be talking
about Kevin Knight soon and it's interesting how again just

(03:35):
to see him singles for five matches at least, we're
going to get to see just how good these guys
really are.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
I think I just came to a realization. Do you
guys think that Tony Kahn's hens and other sports is
kind of why we see the tournaments that we.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
See, absolutely and his big passion for Europan.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
I never thought of that until right now, that the
tournament style has always been in other sports.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
He definitely I think has that feel of why do
you have more of a sports presentation? They tried those
ranking systems how many times now that just never quite
caught on.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah, the ranking system never quite cool, But I think
you're right. I mean, I think if you look at
like soccer over here, they have the thing, they have
this thing called like the FA Cup where like you
get teams from lower down. I'm not saying any of
these wrestlers in the Cottle Classic are lower down the pile,
but you'll get a team perhaps or someone that will
pull a surprise and go further in the competition and expected,
And perhaps that's an idea for the continent of the Classic.

(04:35):
You've got a couple of names that I mentioned one
or even Derada as another one that perhaps could go
further than what any of us could anticipate in the competition.
So perhaps he is drawing that somewhat of an underdog
story and bringing it into wrestling, which is fantastic because
you mentioned the g one there, but you don't see
this in literally an American wrestling at all until Tony

(04:57):
brought into this a couple of years ago.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
No, and that's great, and that's a big reason why
I wanted you on for this particular episode is because
the different perspective from what a strong style and what
you you're used to seeing Night and Rev Pro and
all the exciting promotions you have overseas versus kind of
what became standard here standard bard in the US, Like
you said, we don't have this, So I think it's
been new and exciting.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
I'm ready to dive in.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
And we have twelve participants who some were kind of
a shock, but some you know, are gonna make out
some good stories. So let's kind of go over. First,
we'll start with the Gold League. We have Kyle Fletcher, Pak,
Kevin Knight, Speedball, Ocada, and Darby So real quick, I'm
gonna get each of your thoughts. What are your thoughts
on the Gold League? How do you do you how
do you like how it's stacked out, and kind of

(05:40):
who do you see is your personal favorite to kind
of rise.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Up through it.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I think like a personal favorite for mine just because
of the year he's had his Fletcher, I think he's
just been he is a well he I know he's
I know he was a champion when No Briscoe obviously
beat him full gear. But I think like in terms
of a wrestler that's going to be a weld, I've
mean someone who I didn't really have it on my
Bingo card list to be a world champion. Carl Fletcher
for me is one on the my my interest in

(06:08):
pick obviously and I've mentioned him twice already. Kevin Knight,
I think obviously we know that he picked up that
big sort of I think they would call it a
bracketbuster if it was in a tournament, but a big
sort of upset victory this week. But in terms of
like all of that talent, Like if you look at it,
the styles complement each other ridiculously. Well, all of these
guys are so exciting to be wrestling. You know, every match,

(06:30):
even on this whole tournament, there's not one match when
you look at across all both leagues, there isn't one
match that you can't say you're not looking forward to,
Like you know, Carl Fletcher and Okada's going to be
you know, the Don Callis Family. We're going to see
a few of that. We're going to see the Blackpool
Combat Club meet at some point in this as well.
In the Blue League, there's just so many different variations

(06:51):
and obviously Packs in there on it on his own
from the Blackpool Common Company, and you've got the Derby
Allen so you've got that feud continuing in there, and
of course obviously Kevin not in speakable Bailey will go
against each other at some point as well, which will
be another intriguing contest.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
I didn't realize Darby and Park are going to go
head to head again. I just like put that one together.
I think Kyle Fletcher, like you said, the year that
he's had, I'm excited for every single match that he's got.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
I don't care who he's going up against.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
I'm seated and I'm watching because if you would have
told me Ossie opened Kyle Fletcher was going to be
who he is today, I wouldn't believe you. That long hair, shaggy,
almost stoner look to now, I would not think that
he was going to be a proto star like taking

(07:42):
everything over.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
And he's just so exciting.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
And again, like if I had that pink title belt,
I would have been way more happy. But I'm I
am thrilled with the run that he's had. It's really
impressive when you really look at everything he's doing.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
And Kevin Knight, I wish.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
Speedball and Night were in different brackets because I'm not
ready to see them go.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Head to head.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Yeah, but I think I'm gonna have play Devil's I
don't care. I'm excited to see Speedball and Kevin Knight
go head to head because you know, like he was
saying at the top of the show, mitched a couple
of times, seeing those people that are in teams are
kind of gotten that tag team mentally, seeing them go
against each other and that friendly river like the old
Ring of Honor style, like the handshake, and then they

(08:28):
just go to town.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
They go to the match, and you already saw speedball.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
You know.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
He took a loss in the opening round against Pok
and he was upset and he basically went to the
cameras like, I guess no more, mister nice guy. I
guess I got to go out there and remind everbody
who I am, and then Kevin Knight and we can
go out a bracketbuster.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
It's like the NCAA. It's like that Cinderella story to
start out.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
You know, he gets that surprise win over Darby and
hits that incredible coast to coast, which I've seen that clip.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Mountaous times online and there's just so much potential.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
And I think Gold has such heavy hitter is that
it's hard to say who's gonna be a pin eater
in the Gold League because every single one of them
could walk away this tournament in second or first place
very easily. Been Fletcher was runner up last year and
has beaten Kada two tournaments in a row now, so
he's so definitely a watch out for for me.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
I agree with you on that one.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
He is sorry you would have thought of like when
you said about Pinny is. You would have thought Kevin
Knight would have been the shoe in for that, really,
wouldn't you in terms of or him? And I know
Speedball has lost one, but if you looked at the
rest of the group, you would have probably put them
too in there. But you mentioned that, but no more
missed a nice guy. So it will be interesting to
see if Speedball and Kevin Knight are some point next week.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Yeah, I was gonna say, yeah, Round Round two definitely.
You know it starts next week and it goes into
Columbus into essentially Ringing Honor of the galax CIDs, so
it kind of overlaps. So this whole week not only
is week over hitting the turn buckle cheap plug for later,
but it's also essentially the C two are week. We
have Dynamite and then we have Collision and Ring of Honor.

(09:59):
The at Galaxy Con is going to be Round two
and the Blue League has already been kind of announced
to that, and the Blue League shaping up too because
you have two death riders in that you have Max
and Claudio, and you have Takeshta, who's opposite Okada this year,
Roderick Strong, Mascarago and Orange Cassidy, so slightly different lineup,
different contrasting seals. But want to get both your thoughts
on the Blue League and how you kind of see

(10:21):
this one shaping out, especially with the two Death Riders
already going headhead this week.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Emily go, I just want to double check something. My
math isn't always math. But Okada has to win in
order to.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Keep his title.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yes, yes, okay.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
So if Okada loses to Fletcher.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
He already did so he lost the opening around the Fletcher,
so he's only he's already lost his first match, but
there's still five more matches, that's.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
Right, So Okada can't lose anymore, and Fletcher has still
with the point.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Remember it's a point system, So that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
So Okada would have to.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Win, not necessarily because it depends on the other interns.
You're you're just too early in the brackets to do this.
He's not eliminated yet. I think I know what you're
saying with but he won't lose tight unless he's mathematically eliminated.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Fletchers. But we're going on the Blue League.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
We're going on the Blue League?

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Is it five for five?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
We're going on the Blue League five five.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah, five for five.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Okay, so we're on the Blue League though, I get.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
That, but I just wanted to double track that my
brain was in the right capacity here that he has
to win the Blue League again.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
We see tag team after tag team?

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Is Dorada the only one that doesn't have like a
tag team ish faction going on.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
He's brackets.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
He's kind of like the beast Moortos was last year.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Yeah, he's kind of in there is representation for CMOL,
but also kind of something that that's a little different,
ads a different style because.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Roderic an Orange, Taqushta and flet like the Donkows family,
Death Riders and tag teams are all over this.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Ye are kind of sorted together.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Not really, Yeah, it would be interesting. Is obviously Moxley
coming off the back of some big defeats. I know
that he's won the last couple, but there's obviously going
to be a point in this where something's gonna happen
there because he and I'm just wondering whether the Claudio
Moxley match that they will have at some point, whether
that's going to start the shift within the Death Riders

(12:17):
that perhaps Moxley becoming out of the Death Riders at
one point. I don't know what you feel our guys
think about that, so I.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Definitely agree because I was shocked at I think it's
too early because they announced for this Wednesday in Indiana
it's Okada, I mean Okada versus Park. So that's so
the Goldlea's al said, But the Blue League Max is
already facing Claudio, so I.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Think it's a little earlier. But I agree.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
I think it's to set that divisiveness because all three
death Riders have three points, they all have one win
in the opening round. Ye who's the first death Writer's
Park take the first pit, you know, take the first
pin fall to keep that tension going. Does Max put
over Claudia or does Claudio, who is fresh off his
CMLL world title win in Mexico looking like a real leader,
kind of looking like that guy that's gonna take over

(13:01):
that writers. Does he get in one of a Max
to keep that downfall? Because like Adam said, Max has
been on a losing streak and you know there's someone
in the league that also has it out for him.
Roderck and Orange both have revenge against Max on the mind.
Roder because he hurt Kyle O'Riley and Orange because he's
put his life.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Through hell for the past year and a half.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
So I think that's the other thing is everyone in
this tournament sans Takeshta, has beef with Moxley. So I
think the Blue League almost seems like it's a way
to kind of help. Like Adam said, propel that story
for Max, and I don't know. I think my favorite
on this one to Keshta coming out, but I think
runner up. I think Claudia is gonna be runner I
thin it's gonna be to Kescha and Claudio taking.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
The Blue League.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
I agree, Yeah, I could see that. I could see that.
I think I think we'll I think we're gonna get
to a ticket Okada final. I think that's where my
personal thing would be heading uh that. You know. The
only other potential would be a death Rider final, but
I can't see that happening. I think I'm not quite
sure Pack will make it out. And I do agree.
I think Claudio out of mocks, out of those two,

(14:06):
are going to make it out of the Blue I
think Claudio and take a share that will make it
out of the Blue League and out of the goal leader.
It will be Ocada, maybe Fletcher for the that would
be an interest in there. That don Kallis family would
have literally three members of the four out of there,
and then maybe then we will finally see the breakup
that we've been waiting for.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I think so, because my prediction is Fletcher actually winning
the Gold League and Okada being runner up because of math,
because Fletcher has that win over Okada. I think it's
going to be that because of how World's End works
where they're just like the g One where the runner
up of the Gold faces the winner of the Blue.
I could see a Claudio and Okada in the semi finals,
with Kinda getting to the finals and having a week

(14:50):
for a Fletcher and Dicsha because again, like you said,
those three members of the don Kallis family, they kind
of have to fight out and then who's going to
be the alpha male of the of the donk out sentence?
Takesha gonna go because then you have World's End, you
have that Takeshta Okada finals, and everybody would be here
for just like last year and you had Will and Okada.
Everybody was there for it. Like I remember, we all

(15:11):
kind of knew that Fletcher and was going to happen.
But seeing Okada and will Ospray tear it up at
World's End, I think they're going to kind of mirror
that because again Okada, he's the best tournament wrestler, Takesha
is trying to prove that he's better than Okada. They're
going they're they're even feuding into New Japan, Okada saying
I sold ten thousand tickets when I was announced. You

(15:31):
didn't do anything. So they're even saying in New Japan
like they needed me, they didn't need you, and you're
the champion. It's so personal. I think that's gonna be
Takesha's motivation. I think you talked with hone, who's gonna
go fu you gonna get a perfect fifteen points or
get close to it. I think Takesha is going to
run the table to prove a point.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, and it's as you said. It's great though that
they're into Lincoln with Japan rather the storylines. The last
thing you'd want to do is be like big friends
over there, right, So that's great that they're into liking
Perhaps that's where the relationship comes in, where they're really
working well over there. With aw but it is so
intriguing and there are so many different things that you
could look at on here, and that's the best. I
think that's why I really like the groups this year,

(16:10):
not that I haven't liked them before, but when you
look at this and you look at the sort of
intertwining stories that are going on, not only with the
opponents but with the actual factions itself, it's making it
such a exciting pross week after week you're looking forward
to even more. Not necessarily but you know the match
quality is always going to be there. Aw about a
doubt will always deliver that. But now it's the important

(16:33):
bit because Tony Kahan's put in the storylines with it,
which may be something that hasn't necessarily done before, but
I think it's just going to make this one maybe
arguably the best one out there three they've done so far.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
And the locations are crazy because I mean, just looking ahead,
you know, we said Round two is in Columbus this
week and Indiana, but then round three where it starts
really getting to the meat of this. It starts out
and winners coming Atleanta, but then it goes to Cardiff
for Collision, and then round four or the whole day.
It's a double taping December seventeenth in Manchester. You're gonna
get that. So round four, which could be very pivotal,

(17:06):
because that's gonna be a last push. Somebody could be eliminated,
somebody could have to make a run. So not only that,
but they're also given their overseas partners. You know, hey,
look we're gonna go ahead and have essentially two rounds
in the United Kingdom. That's incredible, I think too, to
kind of help get more eyes on the product where
I mean, you can probably attest this. It's a bigger

(17:27):
viewership right now in the UK. I mean Forbidden Door
set the record, and I mean you were at for
Bidden Door, you had the media, you saw it firsthand.
Forbidden Door was probably one of the craziest crowds they've
had this year and one of the most passionate crowds.
And I think them taking the C two into the
United Kingdom, them taking it there, I think is the
right move. You know, going to Cardiff and going to Manchester.
I think you're gonna be a pasionate Rabbit fan base

(17:48):
and those matches are just gonna be absolutely insane.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yeah, it will be. And a good point to add
is is that the great television deal that TK is
put together with ITB four over here in the UK.
So for those of you that don't know it's but
it's practically on every television that comes it's sold in
the UK has something called Freeview on it, and ITV
four is on preview, so you don't have to have
a separate like a Netflix or an ESPN or anything

(18:13):
like that. You don't have to have that subscription to
be watching Dynamite and Collision over here in the UK.
You just need a television with Freeview on it, and
there it is. So he's also straight away before he's
before we even talk about the content play, he's already
opened up that door over here in the UK, which
has got massive viewership, which ultimately puts the bums in
the seats anyway, because it is more accessible over here

(18:34):
in the UK to watch for the UK fans. So
when it comes to touring over here, he's already got
a free point leader from essentially from the television deal alone.
But you're right, the crowd will be well up for
this in Cardiff and Manchester. No no disrespect to Cardiff,
but Manchester especially, They're going to be very loud over
there in Manchester. Have been to c shows over in
Manchester before, so it's going to be a hell of

(18:56):
a free tapings over here in the UK, and I'm
I can't make it to them, but I'm sure that
they're going to be. As you say, Forbidden Door was crazy.
The last couple of all ins over here have been
incredible and obviously we're looking forward to all In again
next year. But that's the great job that you have.
And he doesn't get enough credit to k in a
lot of things, but for the television do over here
in the UK there is it's just such a win

(19:18):
win for what he's done in that for that sense,
because like I said, it opens up the world really
or the whole of the UK to aew which other
companies don't do over here.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
No, and it's great and I like seeing it from
a fans project because there's nothing worse than a lean
duck crowd or you see a croward. It's like, you know,
I went to a couple of football games up in
the New England area and for a while people were
just used to them winning, are used to them being good,
so you go to the game and there wouldn't be
those passionate fans. We used to call them the rich fans,
and once who went so they could say they would

(19:51):
go and they would sit there and it'd be a
little it's like, no, this is exciting, how fun? And
when you see that on television that start, you're like, well,
the crowd has no and how many times have we
seen a match where the crowd's flat. It's a great match,
but the crowds, you know, flatter them and pop that
you left out in the car all day.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
So it's just it's it's terrible. Yeah, it is.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I went to a UK show funnily enough recently where
there was a match there and it was so good.
It was two young talents, like the first time I've
ever seen it. But the problem is the crowd just weren't.
It wasn't the right crowd for the match. You mentioned
Britty strong style, right, but this was a family show.
She had majority of kids and parents who don't really
know enough about wrestling. The good news is you won't
get that aew because you will get the fans that

(20:32):
know everything about it. I'll get your point with that.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
No, I definitely like it, and I think also, I
mean think about some of the matches that we have
remaining that they have an announced shed that could be
overseas or even could be in Hammerstein or towards the
semi finals. I mean we talked about Okada. They still
have to schedule Park versus Speedball, versus Kevin Night versus Darby,
so you know at least two of those are going
to be in the UK. Okada versus Speedball in Cardiff

(21:00):
or in Manchester I think would be the right choice.
I know, I don't want to kind of keep your
thoughts of which out of those Okada Ramina matches, knowing
the international kind of drives, which one do you think
you'd rather see in one of those shows with.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
That kind of crowd.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Oh, I know the one that I think will be
at Hammerstein. And I think it's because it's just because
you know Ammerstein's E c W territory, Pack and Derby.
I know you're talking about Carda, but Pack and Derby
Allen would be for me. It's got to be a
shoe in for Hammerstein. I just think because you know
what they're going to do, They're just going to kick
the living hell out of each other. Do you know
what Carda's matches. I don't know. Maybe maybe they'll do

(21:37):
your Karda Derby in the UK. I think you have
to have that sort of The fans love Okada over
here though. That's I don't know how you can't love Ocara,
the character of him, it's just hilarious. I still never
forget that time when he's backstage with the button press
the wrong button and then he's like bitch and everyone

(21:59):
just laughs.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Sometimes if we.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
Just look around the house at each other and were
like bitch, it is integrated into my everyday life.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yeah, it is is.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
I think Okarda Derby will be over here, maybe maybe
just because the UK, and I don't think they'll put
Pack and Derby Allen over here just because the crowd
pack especially it's in Manchester Packs and Newcastle that isn't
separated by very far distance, So I would perhaps they

(22:31):
could do Fletcher and Pack or Ocada and Pack over
in Manchester just because the dynamics of facing here. Pack
will be the favorite over here in the UK, so
I think they have to be careful who they put
Pack up against, So it would make sense for a
Fletcher Pack orkarda pack matches to be scheduled over here.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
That would be good.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
Yeah, I think that would be hard, But yeah, I
think Park Fletcher would be god because Fletcher could take
the heat, He could.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Roll with it.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Fletcher can take anything. Right now, twenty twenty five, MVP
of Wrestling not just a w but wrestling is is
cal Fletcher.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
I like it all right?

Speaker 4 (23:08):
And then for Blue League, some of the matches that
we have coming up that I think I'm gonna ask
you ms this him who do you think maybe be
Hammerstein think of the Hammersteinn thinking that, or you think
of where you'd like to see these. I'm gonna go
with Takeshta on this one, so we know obviously, so
Takesha Claudio has already been announced, But what about Takeshta
versus Max or Tekeshta versus Orange so on he's never

(23:28):
faced before. Maybe offer a kind of a different struggle
for him because it's different style of matches he hasn't
wrestled yet.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
These are the matches where Orange pulls out all the stops.
These are I'm excited for Orange Cassidy to face everyone
because his style is so diverse that the way that
he handles himself, his speed, his agility, everything like his
core strength. You don't expect what Orange has to offer,

(23:58):
and then he whips out his speed with his like
Luca style. Everything about Orange Cassidy I love and I'm
excited for every match he has coming. I can't pick
who because like it's just organacity.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Okay, so we know who your favorite is going through
here underdone, So obviously we're Roderick's probably gonna be.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
The person who has to eat some pin.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
But his first real revenge match won't being until he
faces Max and Claudio, so he's got the death Riders,
probably presumably back to back. If I was in a guest,
that would be a good wales Man pest connection. Maybe
because you have someone who's already kind of beloved Ring
of Honor. When he went to New Japan, he was
pretty much well loved. Have him go over there. Maybe
he gets a surprise win over Max because Max can't

(24:41):
believe that he lost to Roderick too, and that could
lead that tension, but then obviously gets absolutely destroyed by Claudio.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, I think that one of them is destined for
the Hammerstein Roderick versus one of the two again, I
go back to the hard core element and the Hammerstein Boorom. Yeah,
I think one of them, but I do agree that
one of them will be Law of Averages would stay,
one of them would be over here anyway. I would
probably save Mox for Hammersteich again, just for that element

(25:07):
of where they are. I would probably put Claudio and
Roderick at one of the shows. But again, Cloudio is
very well liked over here in the UK, so it's
whether you do that or do you put put him
against ta Kesha When you're over here. Orange is going
to be universally loved. He's got He's one of those guys.
It doesn't really matter where he is, and I would
say that they it would probably be better to have him.

(25:29):
Maybe he'll go against takes in the UK Orange. I
think that would be great. I love I agree with
Emily though Orange has has a habit of like pulling
when he was international champion. You've done about thirty tile
defenses and you've got to see different elements of his
skill set, which perhaps people don't because people, just a
lot of people. When I first saw him, I just
thought he was going to be a comed comedy character

(25:51):
that just puts his hand in his pobbles and flies around.
But there's so much more to him than that, and
that that runners international champion. You did see that, so
I think that. But he is universally love so I
do agree. I see Orange. They're all thereabouts in the group.
I know it's like freeze halfway technically when you look
at numbers, but I don't think he'll be far behind.

(26:11):
And I think it's going to go down to the
why maybe between might be between him and Mox for
the top for one of the top two of that group,
and then it will come down to the final week,
and perhaps the final week you'll have like a rubber
between one of those two in that group to get
the second or first place depending on the positions.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
Oh that would be interesting, dynam two and every thound,
but kind of having that third match to decide everything,
that would be Yeah, And that's not like you said
earlier the top of the show. When Tony books these,
he books these to the storyline, but he definitely looks
at like, Okay, well this person wins, what does it
mean for the tournament? I think he really looks at that,
and I think even looking ahead at some of these matchups, like,

(26:50):
it's really hard to say who's going to eat the
pin in some of these matches because a lot of
these people are very well protecting me to cash do
besides Dorada? We know, I think to Casha Durata, I
hate to say, it's kind of foregone conclusion to cash
the verse Qulaudy or to catch the verse Marx, that
that can go either way. And then you know you
have Orange, Cassidy, Roderick, Grada, Marx and Dakesha can do

(27:12):
we really see him only winning one of them?

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Like, I think that's what's hard.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
So I guess to ask you guys both each, what's
your big Who do you think your biggest prize besides
Kevin Nights And he said, Kevin er, who do you
think your biggest like surprise either maybe they get a
lot of upsets and they don't do as well, or
maybe the kind of surprise you and get a few
more wins than you thought they would either league.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Fine, I'm going to go Blue leg and I'm going
to say mox Lee might not win another match in
the Blue League and he doesn't get even nowhere near
qualifying for the and that again that brings to the whole,
you know, death riders. Maybe maybe Pack surprises the odds
and gets through in the Gold group, and Claudio gets
through in the Blue and mox is languishing at the

(27:51):
bottom of the Blue league. And again that's the whole weakness.
And maybe he loses a lot by tap out, because
that seems to be his thing, right he taps out
every time someone gets seems to panic and taps maybe
maybe strong beat maybe or maybe even or does him
by tap out. Maybe he would do the is it
slum plump slumber millionaire that he does or something like that,
or he'll pin him like that. But that would be

(28:13):
my thing. That's my sort of out there thing. That
Max won't win another match in the Continental Plastic and
finished bottom of that group. It's he's the pin eater,
as we we've been talking about and in Gold other
than obviously we mentioned Kevin Knight. I'm gonna sit there
and stick my neck out and say Pack upsets to
the odds and gets breaks the Fletcher Okada top two
that we think is going to happen.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
I like it. I like it, hright, Emily, what about you?
What do you? What do you think?

Speaker 4 (28:40):
I guess either you're surprised someone's gonna win that other things,
or are you're surprised someone's gonna lose either gold both day?

Speaker 2 (28:46):
How are you? How are you going through it?

Speaker 5 (28:49):
I think, however this ends, Fletcher wins.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
I think that I'm I don't quite.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
Still understand what they're doing with this title, splitting it off.
I don't want to talk too much about it because
I know it's getting a hate. I just want to
say I think Filetcher takes this and then we split
and have the extra title again. Okay, I liked I
liked having the split title. I didn't like that they
unified it.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
So yeah, I like it.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
See I agree with that.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
I don't want Mox being the pen eater. I think
Derod is gonna have an upset. I don't see Dorado
losing every match, so I think Derod is gonna come in.
I think he's gonna probably upset someone, and I think
he's gonna upset I mean, he can't obviously upset Mox
he beat him. I think he's gonna set up upset
Orange Orange I think can take that loss. I see
everyone thinking Orange Cassidy's gonna get that win. I think

(29:43):
him getting that like shock victory and it'll lead to
Orange having to take the next one. Seriously, maybe that's
the one that kind of gets him going. But I
think that's kind of my big shock that I agree
with the Box and then gold League.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
I think I'm gonna I think I wanna say Speedball
is gonna kind of of get momentum. I think he'll
be derailed to I think people will pick up a
couple of shocking victories that people don't expect him to win.
And I think that's what's great about is because it
could even be a draw. Like we haven't even talked
about thet there could be some draws.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
I think that's what Claudio and Mocks are going to
be ok, because.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
I think that.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
There's going to have to be a type breaker at
some point for the don Cows family or for the
death Riders. I think that if that's even a thing,
like three people have a tie in points or something.
I don't know, but I feel like there needs to
be some sort of payoff for this, because you can't
just like Mango said, this is way too soon. This

(30:41):
week we get Claudio and Moxley. Yeah, and how do
you pick right now unless Claudio chokes him out because he.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Knows that's his weakness.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
I like that it goes for the ankles swing him. Yeah,
there's so many things that can go on here that
really Claudio has been able to study Moxley, but Moxley
isn't always there to support Claudio, So.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
There's that as well.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
I can say.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Yeah, usually it's just Marina who comes out for Moxley's matches,
but lately, you know, as all the death row was
kind of hanging towards Claudo. Even in Mexico last night,
Claudia was kind of talking and they were throwing beer
cans and trash at Moxley. And Daniel Garcia has a
great video where he's walking out and there's crowds of
people young in that old school heel heat like, get
the hell out of my venue. I mean, last time

(31:30):
something like that happened is when MDF had to be
like taken away like and basically an escalade out of
the venue because they were.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Trying to attack the car after he deack.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Mysticico, which I'm sad because I know Durad is in it.
Maybe they didn't want it to de pins. I was
really hoping we got missed to go in the tournament.
I was like fantasy book that we got Mistico in
this tournament, because I think you want to talk to
someone that put some eyes on this tournament from maybe
the outside of more Mystico being in this tournament.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Would do wonders.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
So maybe next year, maybe if we get Mistico in this.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
One thing that we need next year, though, is a
women's Connell. Now we've got the women's tag, but we
need the women. If they have to split it and
do like the women's one at the start of the
year and the men's want at the end or however
they do it, we need a women's one next year.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
I think what they should do is do like every
few months, rotate your tournaments. Start with the tag teams,
then move on to the women for this kind of
a tournament, and then move on to the men like
the Owens. Yeah, and then you can do the women's
tag tournament and the men's Continental. There's so many ways

(32:33):
that you can go about it that it would be
beautifully done. But I want to see constant, like there's
always should be a tournament happening because it makes for
such good storytelling.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
I mean, what if next year they maybe they do
their first ever women's pay per view and they have
like a Continental Classic kind of like they do the
playoffs at the pay per view that it makes the
matches meaningful, but then you can also have your championship
matches defenders. That way you can easily book the cards,
so you have rematches b tournament, you know, semi finals
to finals, and then you have the championship. You know,

(33:05):
that could be easy way to do an all ones
payer view. And if my tin fall hat prediction of
Miss Pamela Martinez a Kay Bailey being All Elite next year,
that could be easily someone that I think could help
enter that tournament, help get that going.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
That will be interesting. Is that your is that your pick?
Was it?

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Fronate?

Speaker 1 (33:21):
I didn't know that you picked Bailey to be All Elite?

Speaker 2 (33:25):
I think by all in next year that Bailey will.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Be Think of the new one. They signed a new
woman recently. What do you think of that one coming
in the story? No, no, it was the latest who's
the latest signing? Lacy Lay?

Speaker 3 (33:42):
I'm excited. Yeah, harder formally.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
That's what it was like. I'm trying to think of
her next tea name like it's like.

Speaker 5 (33:49):
I know, like, for the most part, we've only really
seen her with Casey, and I think that Katana, however.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
You an American Ninjin Warrior.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Yes, the American Jine Warriors.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
She her and Casey together had such great chemistry. They
did everything together outside of WWE. So I think that
Lacey coming in is gonna be really fun and I'm
excited to see what more she's gonna bring because she's
gonna bring in this different style of women that we

(34:22):
have a lot of smaller women. But if you throw
her up against somebody like Rio.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Or someone that she's been wanting to face and hinting
at for a while, Mile World and High End, who
are also rumored to be close to signing. I know
Sean Rossatt put out there's interest in signing them, and
having seen high End face some of the best women
in the world, especially here in DPW and seeing the
dog collar match with Danny Luna, and I know you're
familiar with Danny Luna. Yes, I think something like that.

(34:50):
You have someone like that who I have chemistry with them.
I think that's what they're focusing on building that roster.
So I agree let's do a cottonoclassic for the women. Actually,
there's easily twelve women on that roster. They could go
and it'd be highly entertaining.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
Oh, it would be incredible. It's easy. I mean to
me by surprise that Lazy Lane won, though I wasn't
expecting it when I heard about it. But again, like
and I'm going to give you in the name here
that I know isn't AW related, but ashby Elegance was
a prime example of someone that done everything that they
need to do in WW, but they never gave her
the time. They never gave her an opportunity to connect

(35:23):
with the audience. I know it happens every company, not
just WW. It happens everywhere. But when she went to TNA,
they gave her exactly what WW didn't give her, and obviously,
up until her retirement due to whatever the injury was,
it's she and the other one was Aj Francis. People
people hate AJ Francis, but if you look at his

(35:44):
work in WWE, when he went to TNA, it's night
and day and they've both become such important people. When
Lacy Lane could be one of those real outsiders that
nobody really thought about that I know they're not in it.
I know they're not doing the women. It's quite over
a classic. But she could be one of those wrestlers
that just haven't had a Rob with the Green, and
ae W could give her that Rob with the green,
much like maybe like Bear Bronson, who's maybe going to TNA.

(36:06):
Like someone like that, you find that home right that
just fits. And I think perhaps with Lacy Lane it
could just be ae W where it fits no.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
And that's why I like about having multiple companies where
they can sometimes it's you know that style might work.
Like I'm happy you brought bar I'm so happy if
Bear goes TEENA. You want to talk about someone that
kind of got the short end of the stick, you know,
he he's a worker, He did everything he was supposed
to do. He was a fantastic I mean multiple times
we got to chat with him up at Limitless when
we saw him fantastic. I mean, first thing he did

(36:37):
was take off his bear mask, give it to Cam
and say, hey, don't worry, my name is Joe.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
I'm a good dude. I'm just here to have fun too,
and like instantly just charmed. It was so nice and
seeing his work on the indies.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Now he's doing death matches and he's going out there
and showing you what a great worker he is. And
I hope you can sign a teenage because he's someone
that should get that spotlight.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yeah, I hope. So we're saying we will see that
in the future, hope not too long, much longer.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
So that's kind of the little rundown on the Continental Classic.
And I know you said you had a question for us,
and we had some time.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
To think about so yes, So I was racking my brain.
I was. I was at an independent show over here
in the UK today, funnily enough, and I was sitting
there and knowing I was coming on, and I thought
to myself, like, we talk about continal classics and it's
always you know, we're always going to be disappointed. Oh
this guy in here, this guy in it. And I
was thinking, right, well, imagine that you had an opportunity
to do a Continental Classic where all the companies got on.

(37:33):
It didn't make no difference who you wanted in. And
I wanted you to pick a golden blue league before
you do yours. I'm going to give you my leagues.
It's only I didn't do women unfortunately, Sorry, I didn't
I didn't do that. I was going to do that.
I was thinking timing and whatnot. So maybe that's another
conversation for another time. My Gold league who is Kenny Omega,

(37:53):
Seth Rowlins, Zach Zaber Junior, Leon Slater, Eedball, Mike Bailey
and Brown Breaker. And my Blue league. My Blue league
is and this is where it goes a little bit
British independent. So I appreciate maybe people at watch you
may not know, but I also just check them out

(38:13):
obviously well Lost Spray, Michael Loku, Chad Gable, Luke Jacob's
British Independent wrestler, Rev Pro Progress Champion, Carl Fletcher and
Josh Alexander.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Okay, that is a technical showcase on that side, that
is yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Yeah, I didn't do a winner or anything like that.
I just just I'd just picked them. But I was
interested to know that if you could have if you
could have your own blue and goal leagues and nothing,
you know, and didn't matter what company they was in,
who would you have?

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Do you have your list?

Speaker 3 (38:47):
Well, I'm gonna get six more Island did six?

Speaker 2 (38:50):
What are you doing that? I can do my way?

Speaker 1 (38:51):
You do?

Speaker 2 (38:53):
So my goal league.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
I guess I went a little different, but I have
Jake something Yep, I have Jacob Too, Beast, Mortos, Lucasus, Samoa, Joe,
and Obafemi.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
That is a called a group meat slapper.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
That's what I was saying.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
I'm like, I wanted like that meat group that would
like would just be just a shithouse.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:18):
Then my other league, I went a little different. It's
kind of funny we went the same way, but I
went Osprey Rawlins, Claudio Montese Ford.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
Oh yeah, and then Ricky Knight Junior OKJ.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
He's someone that he's been announced the Jay CREUSI.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Since we got to talk to Zach, I've really I
started following him a lot more and I really like
his style and I think he's someone that I think
i'd like to see him take on something like a
Claudio or Rawlins. I think he would work so well
with them. And I figured Osprey, you know, him having
that connection, maybe he could mentor him in the group.
Maybe he could be the kind of the person and
kind of hell help get him, show him the ropes.

(40:01):
And obviously Osprey like he picked him two best of
the super juniors that dose a tournament that he's he's
built for tournaments. So that's kind of who I I
just montest four because I just want to see that
man do his thing. Montest Ford something I just I
love watching. I don't think he gets enough credit.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
He needs to be a single he needs I know
they were going to split him up before, but they
need to do that pretty quickly because I fear was
if big things are on his way, if they do
it right for him.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
I agree, all right, So what have we got for
your twelve year Golden Blue?

Speaker 3 (40:31):
All right?

Speaker 5 (40:32):
So I guess gold would be Mystico, Orange Cassidy, Kevin Knight,
Will Ospray, Michael o'cu and Swerve. Okay, mashup of everything,
and I feel like that's dream matches that we've seen,
but also can we get them back again?

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Mystico is just like he is everything you can want
in a wrestler.

Speaker 5 (40:59):
I talked, you know, and then on the other side,
I have Trick Williams, raymas Stereo, Ace, Austin Leon Slater,
Will Hobbes and Javon Evans.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
I like the fact that you put Will Hobbs in
there as a complete totally different from everybody else. That
would be a really interesting because you could imagine him
throwing jeb On Evans line to row four. That's a
great that's a great uh to have someone different in
there like that because we've kind of gone similar Mongo
in terms of like technical I know you went with

(41:34):
the meat slapping group, but to put one in there
with that group, it makes it very interesting.

Speaker 5 (41:40):
I think Will Hobbs and Ace Austin would have a
fantastic matchup.

Speaker 3 (41:45):
They are both beef. I would love to see the
two of them in the match.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
I think we could happen. Could happen anyway.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
Yeah, we don't need this to have that happen.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Tony Kahan, Okay.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
We could do a whole fun episode on like Fantasy
booking and WrestleMania. Like you said, I if all companies
are participating, I think.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
You can make it.

Speaker 5 (42:07):
And I just say that, if all companies were participating,
I don't think it would be wrestle Mania.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
I think that would be the definition of WrestleMania.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
I think Kingdom. I think it would be something like
that if we could.

Speaker 5 (42:21):
That would be if it was going to happen, to
have every promotion involved. I really see that happening in
New Japan at the Tokyo Dome. I don't see it
happening anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
Just don't have it in Saudi.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
I'd like to go to that.

Speaker 5 (42:41):
I only say that because we have seen WWE showing
up in New Japan again.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Yes, and their partnership get that. I know. I feel
like that's just my dreams.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
If fans could realize that the more, if you just
watch and have fun, like That's why I love the
Continental Classic. And I like that question that you present
because it's fun to think outside the box. So so
many people just think under the guys just those three
letters versus thinking of the fun and the the technical
spectacle as you're as your contineral Classic will be called
the technical.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Spectacle because I think you would.

Speaker 4 (43:11):
I would love to see Zsja tearing up in a
cartinal Classic. You can ask her and he was a
surprise entrant. She's laughed at me because I was like yes,
because I was so happy because I'm like him and
Nigel in the same ring.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
Yeah, that was incredible. That was That's an amazing moment.

Speaker 4 (43:28):
But before we wrap up, I wanted to give you
a chance if you want to make sure you plug
your socials so they know where to follow, and also

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
