Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kiss is all about, Mariah?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Was this the plan all along? Is this what you've
been plotting for months?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
A wholesome moment? How are you feeling? I don't believe
in the lomany here, color and get.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Rid of me talking Storm and only take a minute, madam.
If it's mister Bows, tell him about my film.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Missed Storm. I'm am I just with a w and
I am a huge fan. What is the name of
being company of you? Nice to meet you, darling, but
I'm not doing autographs right now. I just came from started.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Just like you and I. Everything he did, everything's doing
here and I just I love you and the little
Tony Storm out there. This is my spot. You will
not take it. You will not make it for your
(01:11):
trips intentions.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
You know you're planning your goals, where you're coming, where
you're going. That whole thing.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Well, I wrestled all over the world. I just came
from stardom in Japan and now I'm so excited to
be a part of the AW Women's Division. Tony Storm,
I mean, she's the reason I'm here. I went to
Japan because Tony went to Japan, and now Tony's an
AW sop I'm in aw all about Mariah.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Watch for the shoe, and watch for the shoe. Indeed,
welcome to you. It's all about Mariah. We're gonna do
a deep dive into our very first episode in our
future Star series. We're gonna be talking all about Mariah
because it's gonna be May. And Emily has talked about
(02:04):
how much she's loved Mariah May since she first saw
her grace Our screens in November of last year. And
she did a deep dive, and she told you about
the Dollhouse match, which she'll go into in a little
bit here. She told you about her gear, her pink,
that she was the glamour for a reason, that she
had the all the different colors, like the diva esque look,
but she was a badass.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
So every little thing that Mariah has done has been
for a reason, and that's kind of why we've waited
to talk about her. She's been on our radar for
literally almost a year now, and it's just been so fun.
Like the second you hear of a free agent, it
kind of gravitates you to learn about them. So hearing
that we had like a free agent out there that
(02:46):
was very athletic and gymnastic y. I was like, yes,
this is needed.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
So so wait, you're telling me if I want to
learn about a free agent, instead of going who, I
should look him up?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, you can just do an easy Google Star Cage
Match is a great great site to use. And then
you've got Wikipedia obviously, but not every wrestler is on Wikipedia,
so you can actually go to like wiki fandom or
like if you just search a wrestler, these things will
pop up. I've been doing this for what five six.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Years now, So you're telling me instead of just bitching
on the internet and sound like a random owl, I
should just put two seconds in a search engine that
can figure it out myself. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Or you can follow us on cruising with Kfave on
Facebook and if somebody says who, I just like insert
the wiki page for them.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
I just inserted a gift of an owl. We are
not the same.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
I like to educate people because maybe that's all they
needed to not be a douche.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Well. I think at some point some people just are
beyond wanting to educate because there ain't no rest of
their wicked and there ain't no place for the dumb
Like social media.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
That's all I'll say, but speaking of a wicked.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yes, when Mariah May started, I mean I started looking
into what kind of got her into wrestling, So I
did a deep dive in her interviews, and she was
a content creator. She created a lot of YouTube video
still is a great channel.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Today sometimes though like it says it's been a year
since she's had a video, and then it says like
three weeks, but it's an old video, so I don't
know what's up with that.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
They could be re uploading. Some people re upload content
depending on you know, new relevancy. They use those great
metatags like cruising with Kfabe at Chrismal k Fave on Facebook,
so you know she was out there. She was a
big wrestling fan. So she went and got some training
over in London at School of Lucha Libre and Knucklelock's gym.
You know training in London is they're used to their
(04:37):
hard hitting style like a Survey a Knight or a
Zach Knight. The way he trained students and you can
definitely see her inspiration in the ring is a mix
of strong style and a mix of kind of the
PWG new style that I know you love, like you
said gymnastic. Ye, but it's really PWG modern era wrestling.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Well, yeah, it's them showing off their athletics. And you know,
she came in and and she had to change her
move set. I think we've talked about this before. She
was towering over the other girls and somebody else already
had her finisher, so she created a new one May Day.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
And what I think is funny is there's not a
lot of different finishers in the business. It's I would say,
everyone does a variation of someone else's move, or everyone
does the spear or everyone does so for her to
recognize I don't want to be like everyone else and
kind of create a new finish is always interesting because
there's nothing worse when you see like five different people
(05:33):
used to say five finish, it's like okay, or they
water down it no longer becomes a finish. You know,
the DDT used to be a finisher and now it's
just now it's a move on a Monday.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Well, she's also been in the business for five years
and recognized that, which is also.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
It's and yeah, I know, and she's only going She's
me twenty six next month, So it's crazy to think
that she's again under twenty five, which is kind of
our criteria to kind of when we do these future stories,
it's people who are under twenty five at the time
of recording or twenty five and under excuse me. So
it's just amazing to think that she went from filming
content and talking about wrestling training in London going to
(06:09):
nxt UK, Like I mean, then she would go to
NXTUK and she would have a tryout essentially.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, she tried out in June and received training from
William Regal and a bunch of other people. And to
think that she then got to work with him I
believe before he left. Right.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
No, No, she worked with her ring being on XTUK
for a hot minute. So and that's what's great. She
got a contract. In me, she talks about how w
offered her a contract, but she wanted to better on
herself and she didn't want to go through that process.
She wanted to discover herself and she was there. She
would actually see Tony Storm wrestle in WUK just because
(06:47):
everyone knows she was the woman champion in WUK XTUK,
which is.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Why she did try out, and because she wanted to
be just like Tony, I know.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Maybe it's maybe it's a seed planted. And she also
got to see a Blair White Davenport, so it's it's
cool to see who these people are now and where
they were just five years ago. Because from there she
would start going all over the world to start wrestling.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
She won her first independent championship in twenty twenty in
a six woman match, which is pretty incredible to think, like, obviously.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Her first championship a year into the business.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, wow, they were trusting of her a year in
and then says a lot.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
She started to go to rev Pro Progress slam Star,
she wrestled all of the United Kingdom, and then I know,
in twenty twenty two she you had some notes on
her wrestling before she moved to Japan.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, so she was wrestling as a tag team during
the pandemic with Zoe Lucas. They were known as the
Dream Dolls. And then in twenty twenty one she held
three titles amongst independent talents, and then in twenty twenty
two she started to work in the US, where she
met Harley Cameron, Lady Frost, aj Lee, and a couple
(08:05):
other women that helped to kind of inspire her style
now in the ring.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
And that's funny that Harley Cameron's working with Sorea, who
also she's talked about Sirey's an influence on her as well.
So it's funny that Harley Cameron's teamed up with Soreya,
who was a part of the outcast with Tony Storm.
So it all kind of connects without meaning to connect.
It's kind of cool when you look at it that way. Yeah,
and then you know, she decided to go to Japan
(08:30):
in twenty twenty three. And as we've talked to Nick Wayane,
you know, Restle Kid, it's a whole different world over there.
Nick Wade went over there when he was a kid.
She's still I mean, what is this you said so
four years ago. So she's twenty one, twenty two going
to Japan by herself to go to stardom. Like that's
that's brief. Like you know, say I'm gonna leave the
(08:52):
United Kingdom. I've already gone to US and travel, but
I'm gonna go to Japan because that's you know, if
you want to make a name for yourself outside of
d V, you go to Japan.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
So here's where I'm going to like input a couple
of matches that I think are really cool. So we've
talked before about Rachel Rose, who came to DPW. She
was like the Queen. It was very cool, very fun.
So she is a match with Rachel Rose, and then
she also has a dream House death match where every
(09:21):
weapon was pink. Highly highly recommend that match. I made
Mango sit through that and it was not far.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
It was fine. I enjoyed it. Yeah, estatics are cool.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
And then you've got Queen of the Ring twenty twenty one.
Where I believe is when she started moving towards Japan.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
She would start doing those tournaments, and then when she
would finally go to stardom, she would debut at dream
Queendom too. And what's cool is here is where you
know who watch her aw you might recognize. She met
Mina Shirakawa and then they also Ziabrookside, who you might
know from NXT. They formed Club Venus and they were
kind of like, I don't want to say mean girls,
(09:59):
but they were kind of like that clickie wee are
better than you, very pretty prim popits. It was it
was cool because you know they had the champagne. That's
why they brought the champagne celebration. They had the glitz,
the glamour. I were going to use that word a lot,
but I went back and watched a few of their
matches together and watch the ma interactoring. It's a fun chemistry.
It was fun watching those three girls together.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
It's cool because you get to see a side of
each of them come together. And Trio's wrestling has always
been very different for us to watch because there's so
much going on in such a good way. You don't
know where to look because there's so much happening, but
you don't want to miss anything.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
And that's kind of where she broke out. You know,
her and Nina won the Stardom tag team titles together
and that's considered one of her best matches. And that
was one of the first matches that opened a lot
of people's eyes to who's this Mariah May because you
got to remember and Stardom, she was relatively new. She
was the fresh face. You know, you had Julia who
(11:00):
had been running rockshot, who.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Had been just speaking of Go watch that match.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yeah, that's brutal. That is a brutal match.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
It is great if.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Good mutch of the girls of NXT with Julia and
Stephanie Vakor and now they just signed their Lady from Japan.
I can't think of her in Delta from Australia. So
good luck to the girls ENNX because those are some
hard hitting women. But Mariah May again kept up with
something like that. I think that's what defined her as
a wrestler, really is. She hung in there with Julia,
(11:29):
and if you haven't seen Julia's matches, it's it's like
watching It's like watching hardcore Holly just beat the fuck
out of someone.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
It's like watching Eddie Kingston and a Bushie. Those actually
really did They went at.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
They lay in their chops too, like they weren't just
you know, they weren't like, oh, like a little chop.
They were like big show, just chopping the hell out
of each other.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
As we've seen recently, Mariah's not afraid to get dirty
despite how pretty.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
She is, and I think that's what made me want
to do this episode. Is I like when someone can
take something, make a gimmick ouy of it, but then
also back it up in the ring to the point
where you're interested and just watching. Even her first match
with Queen Amanada and watching her with Anna J and
watching her in aw just seeing the different style she
(12:14):
brought where it was more of a vicious side, like
I'm pretty, but I can, like you said, I can
throw it down. I can kick your ass.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
If you take this and Ripley and combine their styles together,
this is kind of what you would get, like early
early on Bliss where she blew glitter, like.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Oh that's nxt alexablition.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yeah, Like if you go back and then you take
Ripley with her hard hitting style, I really truly feel
like that's what you get with Mariah May. She's the
best of both. It's fun and you'd want to, like
you look forward to seeing, Oh my god, what is
she gonna wear? Like coming out as Tony Storm. We
all thought she'd come out as Tony Storm, but she
came out as Tony Storm and great.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Which we'll get to too. Totally fine. One of the
things I really liked is that you brought it up
to me and I kind of had to look into it.
Is that she became as she evolved in stardom because
we said she was the best. She became the sexy
dynamite princess and she went into the Cinerealla tournament. She
went to the second round, and the Cinera tournament is
essentially shot at the world title. So again she was
(13:16):
in the Owen Heart. So she's been in these tournaments
a lot already in her young career. And she went
to the second round against some of the best competitors
and stardom, and again she had that evil glamor, which
I think that might be what we're going to see,
that sexy dynamite princess that it's all about me. I'm here,
I'm the best, I look the best, I hit the best,
I kicked the best. I'm going to beat the best.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
And I think something to realize with Mariah is that
with where she's trained, she's had to Yeah, the UK,
they hit hard, She's had to learn that, right, and
then you go to the US and you get kind
of that sexy side of wrestling, not that all of
it is, but.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Well the w talked about the w version, yes.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Like she talked about getting that style.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
The glitz, the glam.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
To turn up for her sexy and then she also
has talked about where you go to Japan, it's quiet,
you have to learn how to put on a production
so you get every piece of her because she's trained
in every different genre of wrestling.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
And that's why I think whenever someone says they need
to go to w B, I don't think they necessary.
I think every wrestler defines himself by what they want
to learn, how they want to evolve. And I think
she went, I want a little bit of the diva,
I want a little bit of the strong style. I
want a little bit of the new japan style. Like
I want to be able to take all three of
these styles and incorporate it into who Mariah May is.
(14:38):
And I think that that's what you have to be
in modern pro wrestling, because wrestling is that melting pot.
I guess you would say of different styles, different looks,
different ways. So whenever someone's like, oh well that's not
that style, that's not wrestling to me, that's not wrestling
to you, but that's wrestling to them. Because there's so
many art forms and that's what I enjoy. But is
(15:00):
you see, because you also told me she did some
movies which she should talk about. You see the acting influence,
like you said, the production like almost like she's a
theater kid. You see that the sex appeal when she's
going out blowing and kissing the camera, she's you know,
flaunting her stuff. And I'm not saying in a bad way,
but she's sex appeal. And then she goes out and
(15:20):
she's going chop for chop with Julia, You're like, she
she's what wrestling wants. She's the character who can wrestle,
who can entertain. And let's be fair, let's face it,
there's there's a lot of guys who only want to
watch ruins wrestling for one thing, if they're attractive, So
you kind of get unfortunate to get that demographic or
those only but then you get the ones like me,
(15:40):
I'm not afraid to say who I enjoy wrestling for wrestling,
it's just a bonus when there's good looking just like
when you see a good looking mail wrestler, it's just
a bonus. And to see someone like Mariah do it
away where it's classy and not like, oh, I'm just
you know, sex cells. No, she's I'm glamorous, I'm the
dynamite princess. I'm gonna kick your ass, Sam good doing it.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
So also like you get to witness more and more
of her now, which is gonna be fun. I'm excited
to see what Mariah May is going to bring to Dynamite.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
And her acting chops is what kind of helped with
the story about to talk about. So she was was
she in for movies?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
So she was in some Canadian productions and she was
in Deep Pat and Roxy, so.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
She had some acting chops, which is good because.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
She's had twitch since twenty twenty So I don't know
how curt it is now, but I'm sure she still does,
like get Ready with Me is like her tiktoks.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
I'm sure she'd because she likes to be the center
of retention and that's why this storyline makes sense.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
So she even did some modeling for the WWE Shop.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Again, they offered her contract, but those last three matches
in stardom is what kind of got Tonya signed her.
So November twenty twenty three, Mariah May would be signed
to all of these. And I remember when we first
saw the graphic, like, oh cool, she's all a leap,
but it was a different type of introduction they showcased
to back She's It wasn't a surprise entrance. It wasn't
(17:10):
all lights go out debut, which I feel like no offense.
I feel like they kind of overdo It was a
unique debut and it's perfect because it was with RJ
City and at the time like weird, I wonder why
RJ Cities introducing Mariah, But it all makes sense in
this story and that's what this episode is. It's all
about Mariah. That was the first thing that was tweeted
(17:31):
out when she was signed. It's all about Mariah. So
she gets signed and the scenes get planned to the storyline. Now,
to quickly preface, it's about all about Eve. All About
Eve is a movie from the fifties that is about
Eve Harrington who's played by Ambaxter, who plays up to
Margot Channing who's played by Betty Davis. So you have
(17:53):
Eve and Margo. Margo is this aging Broadway actress that's
just I'm ready for my closed up Misterville, Like just
very old fashioned Mariah Carey diva esque, like they're better
be peeled grapes like Jennifer, like Jennifer Lopez. There better
be no red m and ms in this bowl. Like
it's that's who she was. She was. I'm an award
(18:15):
winning actress. I deserve the best. She was with her
maid Bertie and this young aspiring actress named Eve decided
I want to meet her because I want to be
just like Margo. I want to be like Margo. And
you notice in the first interview we get with r J,
He's welcome to aw what are your intentions and she's
(18:37):
like intentions, Well, I've wrestled all of the world. I
wrestled in Japan, I wrestled in England, I wrestledn't start'm
Tony Storm wrestled and stardom. I want to wrestle sort
Tony Storms a list, so I'm alwa, I want to
meet Tony Storm and rg Citi's like, yeah, I can
help you. I can help you, and she said you can,
And that's kind of where those seeds were planted, like
she wanted to meet her idol, she wanted to meet
(18:58):
Tony Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
And again she went to NXTUK because Tony did. She
went to stardom because Tony did, So she's.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
In because Tony's there. So her whole progression is because
of Tony. Now flash forward a week they finally have
their meeting. You have RG City backstage the dressing room
says not Tony Storm, and he's like, I'll introduce you.
She's like you can, oh, you promise, and she's so excited,
like she's like a little kid, like meeting Mickey Mouse
(19:28):
at Disney World, like, oh my god, I'm so excited.
And you know Luthor who shout out, real quick, Luthor,
what a glow up. Luthor has had from being in
Brandy Roads whatever the hell that faction was, to being
hilariously fun with Sir Pentico one of the best things
on the Jericho Cruise, to being such a cool background
(19:49):
character slash third person in this storyline, Like holy moly,
Luthor nailed this part. And then you have rd City,
who had some input on this storyline as well, being
a big movie buff, and the nephew, the great Nephew
or the of the director also helped. So it's cool
to see that for a dying company. Warner Brothers kind
(20:09):
of hooked him up with AMC so they could kind
of map this storyline and make it commingle into her work,
and that's where we got the introduction. When they first met.
You know, she's excited. She goes in and Tony Sam's
laying on the couch and she's just like, I don't
do out of gravest and she's like, no, Tony, I'm
the wrestler just like you. I want to be just
like you. I love you like the very classic like
(20:32):
I love you, like the creepy, like I'm gonna kill you.
And from there we just kind of known that something's
not right, like what's wrong there? Because in the movie,
that's how Eve meets Margo. She runs into the dressing room.
She's like, oh, Marco, oh my god, you're you're Margot
and she's like, I know who I am, Dear. She's like, no, no, no,
I'm the biggest fan. But the whole time Bertie, her maid,
(20:53):
is like are you though, and Luther in the background
every time it's like, but are you her fans? So
that's like the first parallel they meet. And then you
have Luther like kind of sad eyeing like that hmm,
like the mom look like are you.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
So that's how Mango saw the first interview because he's
seen all about Eve. So I did not see all
about Eve, but I can tell you that that first
meeting reminded me of Hannah Montana when Lily met Hannah
and went into her dressing room and like was hiding
things and Miley had to pretend not to be Miley,
(21:30):
and I think that that's kind of maybe not necessarily
our age gap because did we.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Just have a Hannah Montana.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Reference on the Gameta Wow, what a wrecking ball. I
feel like that's kind of funny to me, that's what
I saw. But also like they ended up being besties, which.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
You know, is where this kind of story starts to
go because in the movie, you know, they start getting close.
You know, at first, Margarot pushes Eve away. Tony doesn't
really take Mariah under her wing yet. She's suspicious, but
Luther is always suspicious, and that that's the key to
this story, is just like an all about Eve, how
the maid was suspicious, the butler knew something was wrong.
(22:16):
So you have a couple of weeks of Mariah just
being kind of a background kind of shy, you know,
going into worlds end, just staying there awkwardly, while Tony
Storm's like, well, obviously I'm the best. I just won
my match, like you know, and just being completely in
character like her. You need to go watch those press
conferences of Tony's, Like she wrote a letter that to Anthony,
(22:38):
like just her over the top mannerism showed that she
was that I'm the best here, I'm your star, Anthony,
I get the treatment. And Mariah just holding the title
in the background, smiling, just happy to be there. And
that'll be key later. Uh she just but she smiled.
She wasn't looking at me that She's just like, I'm
happy to be here. You know. More that a few
(23:00):
weeks and then Tony starts to let her guard down
a little bit and we have the bosom buddies start
to blossom. You know, they go from being kind of strange.
So she's like, come here holding her to boom and
you're my buzsom buddy. Yes, not in the gross but like, yes,
thank you, Like I'm gonna nurture you. I'm gonna help you, dear,
I'm gonna make you the best her wing. And here
(23:25):
is where it started to twist, because then you have
February come along. Okay, so now we're building up to revolution.
We have Deanna Parrazzo who's like, Tony, you are my
best friend. An Toni's like, I don't have the best friend.
She remember the duck, the one you made the sign
of She just the whole story with that, yes, and
Mariah just seeming to just be there. But this is
(23:46):
when Mariah started to slightly get a little agitated and
he noticed in the background she kind of sneer. But
Luther watched those segments. He's staring at her, he's watching her.
He did not take his eye off her in any
of these segments. And then Revolution we were there. And
so in the movie at this point, you know, probably
like twenty thirty minutes in, Eve's starting to try on
(24:09):
Margo's clothes, all her wardrobe for the production. She's walking
on the dressing and pretending to be Margo, and she
gets caught by the butler a few times. Well, what
happens at Revolution? They made everyone pop And if you
said you didn't, if you said you start coming or lying,
because all of us when you heard that Tony Storm's music.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
We all thought Tony Storm was coming out.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
And then you see Mariah dressed up as the rock
and roll red and black Tony Storm.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
I was like her hair, her hair's long, right.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
And then we're instant like, wait, that's Mariah, And that
would be the first realization that she wanted to be Tony.
She was dressing like Tony's rock and roll rebel gimmick
is that I guess we'll call it.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Yeah, the patch under the eye like Nelly.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
And then the yeah, the black and red, the just
down to the Ancrana, downs to the man. She started
wrestling like Tony in the ring. I don't know if
you picked that up. I did.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Yeah, That's why I'm excited to see what the future holds.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
And then you have a couple of weeks of her
just coming out in different years at Tony Wore, but
she kept Tony Storm Tony Storm. So she ditched her
evil glamour music and she had Tony Storms using that.
So now she's officially the understudy. She's now she is.
She is like if Tony were to get sick. She's
now at the understate, just like in All About Eve.
(25:26):
After a while she becomes the understudy. She starts teaching
her the lines. She starts showing her the ropes. You
want to be like me, I'll teach you to be
like me. And you have Tony Storm, you know, getting
her famous catchphrase, chin up, tits out and watch for
the shoe.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
And then she slowly let Mariah take that.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Yes, so she starts, see that's what I have in
my understand now she starts to then suddenly use the catchprase.
She goes, I can do it. Watch for the shoe
like she starts to envelop the personality of Tony. But
this is where you know they have the st have
the awards ceremony, and Tony's in the background sneering, I
mean Miami, sneering at Tony while she's given the speed,
(26:04):
saying you will not take my spot. You'll never beat
me into all the little girls who want to sorry.
So you start to see that I want what you have.
I'm going to take it from you anger.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
And also you have the interview after a pay per
view where she asked her will you watch my match?
And she was, I don't watch other.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Matches, and then she stopped, and then she goes, I
watched your match, like a few weeks later, and she's
so excited. And then we start we lead into Dynasty
and they're getting closer than ever, but there's still little
bits of tension. But attension really would boil up when
forbidden doors I mean double and nothing would come and
excuse me for forbid door, because Tony would take Tony
(26:51):
would take on probably one of our toughest tests in
a while. Serena Deeb and Serena deep has hearn a
submission and we called this out on our Predictions episode.
I wanted to throw the towel in for Tony, but
Luther stopped her. Yes, so Luther has been suspicious from
day one. She's been sneering in the background. She's been
always holding the title. Like you mentioned, she's always holding
(27:12):
that title. Anytime she took the tat when when they
were walking around, she was holding the title in the background.
The press consens she was holding the tel She wanted
everything Tony had.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I believe it was after double or nothing that she
posted a picture and said something about like we won
the title or something.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
She did she we won the title and it was
her holding it. What's great about that was that's after
she tried to throw in the towel. So that's when
that foundation started to crack. It wasn't so perfect. Well,
it would only get a little bit more traumatic for
her because forbidden Nor came around. AW has a partnership
with Stardom and what's this Mena shere Kawa shows up
(27:58):
to AW. So now Tony's conflict. I mean Maria's Mariah
excuse me is conflicted. She has Tony, but she has
Mina who knows her and knows her rus and knows
the real her. So she has to stop Mina from
outing her. She has to stop Mina from exposing who
Mariah May is. So she's kind of playing both sides.
(28:19):
She wanted to be on poster behind both women. She
wanted to be in both women's corners. She made heart
to make sure they didn't fight, and that after they
fought and Toni sim retained, they all hugged, they all embraced.
She tried to mend those fences because she knew, just
like in All About Eve, when her real friends started
showing up, she knew that all it takes is one
of them to slip up, and her whole plan it's
(28:40):
out the window.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Yes, and Mina did try to stop Mariah knocked her
out with a champagne bottle.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
And what's funny about that too, is was it an accident?
Because it looks like an accident. Book was Mina's trying
to warn Tony there, I don't know. Mina seemed frustrated
that Tony, that Tony kind of didn't understand that Mina
didn't know what the hell was going on, like, this
isn't Mariah Ray, You're not Tony. Well we wouldn't have
(29:08):
to wait long because finally Tony would talk up and say,
you know who should enter this tournament? You should? You
are my under basically, you're my understudy. So Mariah enters
the tournament and we knew seeds are planted. She's going
to Wembley. Holy shit, I have.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
To stop you there. Something I watched today was the
Hate You with RJ City and Mariah May and he
said something and she goes, you can ask my mother
at Wembley. That was made months and months ago. I
feel like that was in January.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
So did RJ City know all that's then and not
say anything that's slide out because.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
She said, you can see my mom in Wembley.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
So yeah, she had her intentions and she was plotting
at you old us. Sony Storm even knew she was plotting,
but she did. She she wanted to see the good
of Mariah and that was her downfall. She accused her.
She said, is this what you've been plotting? You just
want to take my title? And she said no, and
she believed her. And then just liking albod Eve where
(30:17):
she gets the award and she gets all the success
and she says, now I'm better than you, Margot, I'm
I won the Tony. I'm on top of the world.
That's what Brian does. Because Mariah gets that championship belt,
the Owen, she wins the Yewen. She's so excited. She
runs up there and then she just immediately smashes Tony.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
With it, smash. And then she smashed Luth.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
She picked him right in the gonads, lifted him off
the ground, Poor Luther, poorlu And he goes to a table.
Then Aubrey tries to break it up.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Yeah, everybody did.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
And then she just starts whipping her with that strap
and beating her. But then then the moment that put
the turn over the top, the moment that just the
irony of a heel turn. She took the shoe, the
shoe that Tony always said watch out for the shoe,
and she just bludgeoned Tony to a bloody pulp with
(31:08):
that shoe.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Yeah, and that was rough.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Probably one of the most iconic moments in aw woman's
history is that shot of her holding a bloody Tony
Storm and it's the theater masks Tony is. She's not
even crying in pain, She's crying because she was betrayed.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Yeah, She's like how could you?
Speaker 1 (31:29):
She's like Mariah, and so she sat in Mariah's smile.
So it's like the happy sad masks. But the we
talk about how Darby did art school, we talk about movies.
You hear the phrase cinema all the time online. That
moment to me was if you were to say the
word cinema, that was it. Where she's literally using a
(31:52):
heel to turn heel and using the shoe that Tony
always warned her about to hit her, saying you like,
watch out for the shoe, and just she's beaten her
with it.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
If you would have asked me how that was gonna happen,
that is not what I would have said.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
I've never seen Emily gas so loud at a basic
belt shot until I did, because as soon as she
turned out hit of the belt, Emily went as loud
as I like, I can't do your gas. Sorry, but
it's like it was a big like it was like
it just and you watched it and we sat there
for a good five minutes after almost reflecting, almost reflecting
(32:30):
on what the hell just happened. I remember, like, I
don't think I got out of my chair and I
was just like did that just fuck? You're like did
that just We both just couldn't believe it. And then
Jamal's texting us like already not like this, like so shocked.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Like I thought we had a couple more weeks. I
thought it was going to happen close to to all In,
but we are pretty close to all In.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Like, I don't know what I thought it was gonna
happen at all in. I thought she was gonna portray
her at the end and take her tie.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Yeah, like this is not what we thought, but like
it's oh good.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Like we all knew what heal turn was coming, but
just not like that. It's like that meme but not
like that. And I just love because the storyline all
but Ryan. It mirrors the plot so much, with Mariah
playing the role of the ambitious up and comer who
is taking over the established star. And you know, everyone
says aw doesn't tell stories, but look at the parallels.
(33:23):
I wrote down some themes ambition, manipulation, and a ruthless
pursuit of fame, you'll do anything to be famous. That's storytelling.
So for everyone who says they don't tell stories, and
I'm not trying to say this and say haters, but
just in general, watch this story arc because this is
in fact a story they're telling, and it's one of
(33:43):
the big reasons I'm excited for all in like all
in general, but this story. I need to see this match.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Her promo last week was great. I loved it. I
love hearing her tell us that the best thing Tony the.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah say it, you know, basically the best thing Tony
did was believe her essentially and that she is timeless.
Now she's gonna take.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Everything from her something about her being on her knees.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Oh yeah, I don't remember the quote word for word.
But and then we have the Glamour debut coming tonight
as of recording this episode, Like, what do you think
that's gonna be?
Speaker 2 (34:18):
I think we're gonna finally see Mariah May come out.
We've seen her in the beginning, but she disappeared so
she could understudy for Tony, and I think that she's
taken on so much of Tony that now she needs
to go back to herself. And we're really gonna see
Mariah come out tonight.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
No, I think we're definitely gonna see It's gonna be
the evil glamor of the evil music, like that heel
music she had that Mikey Ruck has made. It's gonna
hit even harder now than it has before. I'm excited
to see where the story goes. I'm excited to see
her take the title from Tony because that's gonna be
another milestone the story. She's gonna she's going to throw Tony.
She's the one who's going to throw her.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
I don't know if she'll she'll come out with a TIERA,
but like that was pretty iconic for a while for her,
So I don't know. Like there's just so many ways
that this could go.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
And I'm ready and speaking ready. I found the quote
so we can see it. So the actual quote is,
I've been I've been Tony Storm, and I can be
so much more. Don't worry, Tony. I still love you.
I've never loved you more than when you were on
your knees, bloody and screaming my name. That was your
greatest performance. My greatest performance will be all in because
all the wrestling is all about Mariah Yeah, I'm ready
(35:31):
for all in me too, and I am just thrilled
to see the story progress. I don't have much more
to add to the story except I'm excited to see it.
I think we can't end on a better note than
It's all about Mariah, because it really is. So do
you have anything else you want to add?
Speaker 2 (35:50):
If you're listening, look in the comment section when we
do post this, because I will leave these matches that
