is the Ace won the championship at Dominion in twenty
sixteen and now at Wrestle Kingdom eleven, which is the

the cleaner Kenny Omega, putting it all the one. Kenny
wants to prove he belongs. He wants to prove that
he's no longer just super junior, that he's ready for
the heavyweight division. Okada wants to prove that he's the best.
You know, he had had that belt, like I said,
since June twenty sixteen, so he's going to his first

full year's offense. He wants to prove that he is
the ace, he is the top dog. He's beaten all
the Bullet Club members. So it just it led up
to cass because you have Kenny who's trying to prove himself.
And the reason why I say chaos is obviously Okada
was the leader of Chaos, but I do like their

out he's burning his money. So they're basically talking about
Kenny's rise to the top. Because in twenty ten, Kenny

Omega kind of came New Japan, but he's still a
DT so it took him a few years to really
come full time to New Japan and when he did,
he was in the super Juniors making his name for himself.
But he wanted more, and he found the Bullet Club,
a group of outsiders, and he was able to kind
of rise up through the ranks. And after aj Styles
was gone and after the Elite formed and his old

partner of Bushi really kind of gave him the motivation
to be his best and he needed the challenge the best,
which was Okada. And I like that says they're changing
wrestling future because how fitting, how fitting that eight years
ago they were talking about changing wrestling future and now
they really did. Look at the domino effect of this.

Match, Kenny Omega has really elevated without even being a
voice of it, so many different levels within aew to
give us what we are seeing now. When you think

Bullet Club, which is a group of foreigners won the
g One, is going against the best in Japan. Like
Okada had a lot to lose. Okada didn't just lose
the title, he was losing the match itself. He didn't

face of New Japan. Yeah, definitely. It was a lot
of a lot of a face for a lot of
us that we never quite grew out of. It's not

they do because the storytelling in this ring is something else,

and the selling in this match is phenomenal. The cockiness

eight years, so both may maybe don't go as fast

people have watching in Japan as well. I don't speak Japanese. Well,
they have English commentary, and with especially nowadays, with articles
written up about the story, if you don't understand what
they're saying the feud, they put subtitles and people will
translate it for your articles and you can go back.
Like Emily watched The History of the Bullet Club on
YouTube years ago, as famously told, so, I mean she

Yes, again, it was basically NonStop. The only time it
stopped was when there was going to be a count

They never were thrown outside, just destroyed. What'd you think
of all the rainmakers and attempts and all the reversals
and them trying to get all their finishers.

I enjoyed that. I think that it's cool to see
that even the best can't not get caught up in
their finishers. They might be able to kick out of them,
but that just means they're going to continuously hit them.
I think that that's kind of cool, something that I
can't say I had seen often. This style match is

definitely something I don't think I've ever seen anything like it,
aside from Kenny versus Will, but even that didn't seem
as like strong style as this seemed. It seems more
aerial versus the strong style.

It was a good hybrid. It was definitely a good

And Kenny is good for that. Though. That's what I

watch Kenny, the more I'm like because he's so versatile,

that's just not my style of wrestling. Can you give
me a will Osprey, give me Orange Cassidy, give me
somebody that gives me a little more. And I guess
Kenny Omega does do that more than I thought. It
just depends on who he ends up in the ring with,
who he can change his style to be more like

the ace, he is the top dog. He's beaten all
the Bullet Club members. So it just it led up
to cass because you have Kenny who's trying to prove himself.

was the leader of Chaos, but I do like their

out he's burning his money. So they're basically talking about
Kenny's rise to the top. Because in twenty ten, Kenny

Omega kind of came New Japan, but he's still a
DT so it took him a few years to really
come full time to New Japan and when he did,

But he wanted more, and he found the Bullet Club,
a group of outsiders, and he was able to kind
of rise up through the ranks. And after aj Styles
was gone and after the Elite formed and his old

which was Okada. And I like that says they're changing
wrestling future because how fitting, how fitting that eight years

they have English commentary, and with especially nowadays, with articles
written up about the story, if you don't understand what
they're saying the feud, they put subtitles and people will

YouTube years ago, as famously told, so, I mean she

Osprey just brought up recently an interview to where the
steady camera shots like this is a lot of cuts
for New Japan, like just showing the shocked commentators and
like they can't believe it. But I like to continue
of shots when they're in the match, like right here

I also like one of my favorite New japan touches
that they do is they keep the match graphic up
on the entrance tramp. It's always something I've enjoyed, like
on whatever JumboTron or entrant tramp they have, whatever the
match is, that match cards up there. I don't know why.
It's silly asthetic, but I away it versus seeing nothing

or like a company logo, and I get but it's like,
I think it's cool use those little side screens and
do the match cards, especially with how beautiful some of
these posters are. Yeah, or use it like a television
and treat the match just look just kicking him and
need him in the head? Can you just passing? Just

Dave Meltzer would rate this match six stars, breaking his

so before we kind of wrap up. So now it's
been a little over an hour. I know, we have
a couple people here, you have our thoughts about what
are some of your favorite moments from this match?
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Mine, yes, my favorite moment would be Kenny going to
the table like a pool float.
Speaker 1 (01:01:46):

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
I would say, what two meant? There's just so many
I gotta take it in for a second.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
So now that you see it, do you understand why
maybe it got six stars and why the wrestling world
was a buzz the next day after this match?
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Yes, again, it was basically NonStop. The only time it
stopped was when there was going to be a count
out or it would.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
They never were thrown outside, just destroyed. What'd you think
of all the rainmakers and attempts and all the reversals
and them trying to get all their finishers.
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
I enjoyed that. I think that it's cool to see
that even the best can't not get caught up in
their finishers. They might be able to kick out of them,
but that just means they're going to continuously hit them.
I think that that's kind of cool, something that I
can't say I had seen often. This style match is
(01:02:50):
definitely something I don't think I've ever seen anything like it,
aside from Kenny versus Will, but even that didn't seem
as like strong style as this seemed. It seems more
aerial versus the strong style.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
It was a good hybrid. It was definitely a good
hybrid match.
Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
And Kenny is good for that. Though. That's what I
think you in like not to put the words in
your mouth, but as like I've watched Kenny as I've
gotten more into wrestling. At first, I was like, I
don't I get why you like it, But I don't
get why I like it yet. And the more I
watch Kenny, the more I'm like because he's so versatile,

Like I'm the first to admit Danielbrian's style Brian Danielson, Like,
that's just not my style of wrestling. Can you give
me a will Osprey, give me Orange Cassidy, give me
somebody that gives me a little more. And I guess
Kenny Omega does do that more than I thought. It
just depends on who he ends up in the ring with,
who he can change his style to be more like

I can't, which is what I'm saying that, Like, for instance,
if he was going up against Brian Danielson, I know
that that's not a match I'm going to enjoy, but
I will.
Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
Like it, but it's not worth I had one of
the best matches and died in my history.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Yes, however, it's not Emily's cup of tea, whereas like,
these kind of matches are more my cup of tea
because it.
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Is more I don't know, because you popped out for
that match when it happened on TV.
Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
Yeah, but I wasn't expecting to go into it liking
it because I knew it was going to be more
matt heavy. I'm not a matte heavy kind of person.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
And I think that's what's great is because the way
it runs, and I think you know, we'll see because
next week, for you, we're gonna be watching the second
match from Dominion twenty seventeen, where there's gonna be a
little bit more stakes on because Canny doesn't take this
last very well. So I'm not gonna spoil why in
the build up. I'll give you that introduction next week.
