Speaker 1 (00:26):
Hmm and welcome to Cruise Okfongo, And today we're talking
about one of aw's youngest stars and.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
New t NT champion Red Death, Daniel Garcia.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Daniel Garcia has been on the uprise since his start.
He really elevated himself on the independent scene and caught
the eye of a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
He did, I mean from when he started in Buffalo
training with the Butcher and also training with Brandon Thurston
who runs wrestle Momix now, which is kind of interesting
to hear that someone who is a trainer and wrestler
involved wrestling is not like a nerd statetician that does that.
So you had a good upbringing, you know, in that
Buffalo territory where the Northeast, we're a little biased, is
known for their wrestling.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
You always hear when they go to New York it's
this person's hometown, this person's hometown. But if you notice
that the homegrown talent, it's young and it's fantastic. The
amount of talent that is oozing out of New York
and New Jersey right now is wild, especially still in
Limitless and on the Independence you can find a lot

(01:42):
of different young talent up and coming MLW has been
picking a lot of them up.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
It TNA picks up ones. You know, AW has had
them on Dark before. You know, Dark unfortunately went light.
I guess we're gonna say when they got rid of it.
W has their ID program that they try. So there's
a lot of talent in the Northeast and danil Garcia
is no exception. I mean when he first came out,
he was different because he wasn't doing what everyone was doing,

(02:10):
PWG style, He wasn't doing the modern style wrestling. He
went back to his roots and did more of a
technical style.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I think a lot stems from being able to possibly
train with Dan O'Brien Brian Danielson.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I mean he did this before Brian Danielson.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I think because he loved watching him, he emulated him.
I think you're right. I think he kind of wanted
to be like him because he said that he wanted
to connect with the crowd, and when you have someone
in a submission, or you're on the mat or you're
doing transitions, you can feel what's working with the crowd. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I think it's really cool that they are able to
incorporate such a different style and gravitate the people around
them because it pulled you in. You're wondering what's going
to happen next? Like where do they go? Can they
reverse this? Is this a pinfall like submission? What's going
on here? And it intrigues you and it kind of
tricks you. Yeah, it's a good little trick.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
And I think he's good at doing the technical style.
He's good at doing the Matt technician. And I know
one of the things that you and I both talked
about when we saw him at Limitless was when he
has a gimmick or a personality to really show who
he is, he's going to be something because he already
had it in the ring. He just had to connect

(03:28):
more with the crowd on a different level.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah, he connects. I just think that it's been great
watching him because we met him a couple of years ago.
We unfortunately never got to meet him while he was
at Limitless, but we have met him a few times
in the Jericho Cruise and to see such a nice, humble,
young kid up and coming, it's fantastic. His mom is

(03:53):
there at a lot of the shows.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
And supports him, traveled with him.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I think that that's really tell talor and obviously he's
a good kid.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
You know, and you know when he started on the
Indies and he really started out, we didn't know what
to expect because you, like you said, we saw him
at Limitless and he was with Kevin Blackwood. They were
a heel team. He was the Lamitless champion after the pandemic.
So that's when we got to kind of see Danny Garcia.
You know, we got to see him wrestle in the ring.
We got to see him kind of be that vicious

(04:22):
heel red Yath. What I liked is I still remember
his song the chap Is he like when he would
come up like just you wanted to see him get
his as kit. He played that role so well.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, he definitely has this just look about him that
is punishable, but in a way that I think is
kind of fun, Like Nick Wayne, a punishable face, a
punchable face.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
I love it. And we almost didn't get to see
Garcia in twenty twenty one when we saw him, because
you know, let's go back when he, you know, had
first started first started making his name in the Indies.
In twenty nineteen, he was in a car accident and
buffalo heading back on an event with some other wrestlers
the vehicle, including Kevin Blackwood, and you know, he describes
it as he was asleep in the back seat with

(05:06):
Kevin Blackwood. The car basically slid on some black ice
and hit a guard rail split in half, and he
describes that, you know, when he kind of came to that,
he didn't know that his legs were broken until he
tried to stand up, and then he realized black was unconscious.
And it wasn't until they both got to the hospital
that he realized him and Blackwood basically shattered both their legs.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah, he broke his right femur in fibula and his
tibia and his left shin and ankles.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
It's like your whole leg.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Thankfully, the other two involved in the accident didn't get
as damaged, and there was a gofund me for all
four of them to be able to recover and get better.
And that's kind of where AEW comes into play, because
you see Jericho giving money towards this, and Tony Kahan
and John Huber aka Brodie.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Lee and even other people in the resting world too,
like see him Punk and Storm, all these other talents
reached out and he talks about it, specially in Takas
Jericho a lot. How he didn't realize that these four
dudes from Buffalo made you know, a name in a
good and bad way, and that that's what motivated him
to want to continue wrestle, because he didn't know if

(06:18):
he was going to be able to wrestle again.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
I mean, doing that much damage to your body. Who
knows what could happen, especially we.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Think all the arteries and think of all like the
structure of the leg I mean, what he has to
do in the ring, you need your legs.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
And that all happened in January twenty nineteen. So when
you think about the timeframe to heal that kind of stuff,
I it makes sense why we didn't get to see
him right away.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
No, it does, And that's why I was thinking, you know,
kind of we were introducing him when we saw him
at Limitless. We didn't know a lot of the story.
We knew we liked him. It wasn't until we started
kind of deep diving. You know, Emily's famous for doing
these deep dives. We found out at this and it
was just like, oh my god. And then you know,
just to know that he showed, he still showed up

(07:06):
to work. He still six months later showed up a show,
still on crutches, and he wanted to continue his dream
and watching Brian Danielson was his dream being being a
pro wrestler, because as Emily likes.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
To say, Danny's a wrestler, that's.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Always his dream. She loves. That's if you ever want
to pop Emily on the Jerr crwers, just go up
like Danny's.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
A wrestler, because I so badly wanted him to pair
up with Brian, and we'll get to there's still time.
There's still time. So he grew up playing hockey, and
he had always thought, you know, hockey was it, which
I thought is pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
I mean he definitely seems I mean that close to Canada,
New York, it makes sense playing hockey. He definitely seems
like one of those tough guys that likes getting slammed.
Aund check into the boards for fun, yes, and you
know from there he would really find his strength and
he would go PWG. He would go to Limitless, he
would go to DeFi, he would go to all these
different promotions and they made a name for himself even

(08:08):
after the accident, So late twenty twenty twenty twenty one,
they started really becoming on the rise. Kevin Blackwood and him,
especially the Buffalo Brothers were really making a name for themselves.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
They definitely were. And if you go back, you can
actually see Wheeler Yuda and Garcia in an IWTV hour
long title match, and that shows you even then he
had the stamina who could go an hour. I want
to see more of those in pay per.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Views, like the Ironman style matches.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
I do think that that's honestly, like that is crucial
to telling a story. When MJF proved he could go
the hour, that really showed how good of a wrestler
MJF was. I want to see another hour long match
for Garcia.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
And then he gets the oxygen mask ap right, he
was the extra five minutes. But no shout out to
WTV too. Like during the pandemic, they still broadcast the
Limitless Dojo where we got to see Garcia and that's
kind of.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Think he won the title against Christian Casanova aka Carmelo Hayes.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
He is him, But that's where we kind of started
learning some other people limits because we wanted to keep
up with Lumless because if you go back to episode
two the season Lumitless, we talk about our love for
it and it was almost like from twenty twenty when
we first saw it before the pandemic to twenty twenty
one when the surprise show the Emily Rant and Ravesbilt.
Every episode it was like a whole new cast of
characters kind of were there, and Dan Garcia and Ken

(09:27):
Black were leading that charge.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
We saw them first in twenty twenty they debuted against
Sunny Kiss and Joey Janella on aw Dark.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You loved Dark?

Speaker 3 (09:37):
I did love Dark. It might have even been actual
like television. I'm not sure. However, we also were there
for the demise of this amazing tag team and we
made eye contact with the Blackwood Ice. He fell to
the floor and it was earth shattering and feet it
was earth shattering.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
I still have a picture and I was like, oh man,
and it was. But I remember at that moment being
in the chair where like, is he signed? Does this
mean he's signed? Like we were both like did he
just get signed? Aida? Because like Emily said, he was
on Dark and so Sunny Kiss and Joey Janella. Emily,
if you want to know about Dark. Emily watched Dark
and Dark Elevation. She worked overnights. She was working on hours,

(10:18):
so that was what she did. She would watch YouTube
when she came home, she would watch Dark and she
would tell me, so and so debut on Dark today,
so and so it's so cool. So that's where her
like deep dives, really kind of boiled over.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Honestly, it was more exciting because it was people that
I already followed through Instagram. I had just found Instagram
in twenty twenty, thank you to the pandemic. I literally
only followed wrestlers because that's all I cared about. Through
listening to Chris Banvlee, I saw that it was important
to support people, and I didn't know how else to
support them other than to just follow them on their

(10:52):
Instagram because that gives them fans and people, especially in
twenty twenty, that's how you could gauge a fan reaction.
And you didn't have it in the ring, you didn't
have it in the crowd.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
You kind of had to get over in social media.
Like you know, Matt Cardona really made good points that
he had to use social media during the pandemic to
promote himself and a lot of these companies were running
studio shows TNA awwe, so, like Emily said, they didn't
have the crowd reaction limitless Dojo basically having a closed gym.

(11:24):
So it was a weird time, but it really showed
who could thrive in these type of environments. Again, Garcia thrived.
They earned the trust of Tony Kahan. You know, obviously
Tony Khan and Jericho made aware of him because of
the accident. Unfortunately, it's it's like a blessing in disguise,
you know, they were made aware. So Tony watches the
and dies. It's well known that he will watch tapes,

(11:47):
he invites people in, so obviously he saw something in Garcia.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Yeah. I think the best part about this kind of
stuff is that Tony Khan really pays attention. He is
what was that where you used earlier for that guy, phenomenon? Phonomics?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Phenomics? Is that a word doganomics? John Cena?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Phenomical?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
I'm not sure. Are you talking about the store earlier today?

Speaker 3 (12:13):
No? All right, Well, Emily clearly went on her Thanksgiving
walk today. So, but Tony Kahan is able to look
at numbers differently than most people. He's able to look
at numbers and grasp things and show you wrestlers from
way back when, and he's yeah, it's just amazing. When

(12:38):
you listen to his calls, like some of you may
not enjoy it, but I do. I like listening to
Tony Kahn talk about his talent because he clearly signs
them for a reason. He doesn't just sign people to
get a name.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
It's not like, oh, I've heard of this person. Oh yeah,
that's Den Garcia. He was the Limitless Champion. He wrestled
at PW against Nick and he had a thirty minute
match and he hits this and he loves to use
the Texas clover leaf in sharp Street. You're like, whoa,
it's like a genius, like like a genius mind where
wrestlers like Christopher Daniels everyone have always said, if you're

(13:13):
a wrestling fan, talks to Tony kN because he'll sit
there and name you a time and a place and
a person. And he showed that, like you said, when
he scouts them, he shows that.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
It's impressive and honestly, like, that's what I want. I
want my boss to be like, yeah, that is that person,
and yes, they are that great. I would love to
have a boss talk about me the way that he
talks about his talent. I think that that's awesome, you.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Know, and I think it helps him understand maybe not
where they'll fit, but how to best use them and
use their skill set, because wrestling's a lot like football,
you know, if I want to put that analogy out there,
if you have a wide receiver and they can't run
certain patterns, they can't run certain routes, you design plays
for them. And that's kind of why I think Tony
Kahn does is he knows Garcia is a technical wrestler

(13:55):
and he needed some help connecting with the audience besides
just his skills. He pointed him with Jericho, Matt Minard
and Daddy Magic. Excuse me, Daddy Magic and Cool Hands
Angela Parker. So cool Hand and Daddy Magic were to say,
because I'm gonna butcher their names all night otherwise. So
basically the Jericho Appreciation Society kind of formed before it.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Forms it really did? I think him coming in with
two point zero in twenty twenty one, yes, twenty one,
the three of them. I first, I was so annoyed
because who the fuck is two point oh working with
Red Death where is Kevin Blackwood? Fuck this? I want

(14:35):
my tag team back, like two point oh.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
And it was spelt out the number two, the word
point and then the number zero. So it was like,
what the fuck is this? Like it's like we used
to write in your notebooks and give me those little
weird SSA's and you just dream all over your notebook
like you're trying to be cool here, like what do
we Oh? I get it cool inn.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Like I'm not trying to nitpick because I get what
they did ended up just right. But right away it
was not it. It was so so much. It was
so much. But ae W took some turns and again
j Yes formed. So we saw a variety of different
talents come back together again keeping Sammy, keeping Hagar but

(15:16):
adding in oh that's right, and then adding.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
In two point zero and Danie Garcia. And it really
helped because it was, like you said, so much over
the top personality in there. He could kind of blend
it like he was he was like the muscle. Him
and Hagar were the muscle, the silent muscle, and you
had Sammy being goofy. You had two you had now
the renamed Daddy.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
And Daddy Magic and his nipples were always hard.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Oh my god, my favorite when Donnie on the cruise
first Daily board. Do you know what makes my nipples are?

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I think Scott did it better than Donnie.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
He did during the photo shoot. Oh my god, those two.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
You could hear him across.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
The cruise legends right there, And I think that's what
is that they started to connect because they were unseerious
in a good way and everyone's like, oh, Jericho is stable.
But it really helped out because think about think about
what kind of happened with the JAS format. You now
had this super group led by Jericho who could help

(16:17):
get Daniel Garcia on TV where the matches matter because
he had great wrestling matches, but he didn't have any
stories to make you want to watch.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
That's true. I mean I wanted to watch because I
knew him as a wrestler. He was great. But yeah,
I think it's important to look again at his move sets.
It says in my notes that he well, I mean, yeah,
he uses the sharpshooter and choke hold because everyone knows
how they feel, which is kind of like the Judas effect.

(16:49):
Why Jericho uses the Judas effect?

Speaker 2 (16:52):
No, it is if you kind of know what something's
going to feel like, you know what's going to happen.
So if I go up to someone and you see
me open ahead his slap and then you just think,
you know that, oh my god, his cheek kurts and
now his head hurts because you gotta slap and an elbow.
Everyone's put their little brother or sibling into the sharpshooter
or the walls of Jerich or my case when our

(17:13):
friend Frank put me into the rings of Saddern and like,
you know what those submissions do, what they feel like.
So it is a great way to connect. And it
started working because he started being a little goofy and
he's he got the notice of his mentor. Finally because
as we get into the summer of twenty twenty two,
Brian Danielson and Dan Garcillaud start linking up because we
had the BCC now a thing, and the BCC had

(17:34):
their eyes on DG.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
They did. I also want to point out the fun
fact of Mark Henry was also an inspiration, and I
think the character work with the seriousness. I can see
that because it's almost like two different wrestlers. When you
see Danny Garcia the wrestler versus Daniel Garcia the dancing.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Wrestler Sport Sanatana.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Yeah, I think you definitely do get a difference of
Like when Mark Henry it was Sexual Travels.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
He was, yeah, the world's strongest Man, Sexual Chocolate, Nation
of Domination, everything, like the.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Different character styles. I really can see that being an
inspiration for Garcia.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
It was funny. I mean, think about the juvenile humor
of Sexual Chocolate. It's sexual.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
It reminded me of from South Park. I had watched
that live, so I had to watch that back when
you were doing that other awful podcast.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
He had a hand baby with May Young. It was
completely juvenile and.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Like I watched that as an adult, I don't understand
the humor. Is it guy humor?

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Because when you're a thirteen year old kid, it's funny,
you know, that's what it is. It's like it was
Beavis and butt Head. Like Vince with Man was known
for potty humor. He was known for that stupid before
We'll just say he's the master class being an ass.
But speaking of good master classes, that's what I really

(19:04):
liked with this feud with Brian Danielson because when they
finally stepped foot in the ring. It was like they
had meant to have a match together this whole time.
You had Garcia, you know, trying to do his submissions.
You had Brian Danielson rolling out, you know, getting into
the Kamora locks, the y S locks, the Matt skills,
them beating a shit of each other, you know, them

(19:24):
kicking the crap out of each other, and Brian just saying,
you're not a sports entertainer.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Danny's a wrestler, and.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
We thought he was going to turn, and we thought
he was going to join the BCC. Emily got swerved.
I did too, but Emily got swerved.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Because again you look at his style and it didn't
fit the sports entertainer still because he hadn't leaned into
it yet. He wasn't quite the dancing, charismatic guy. He
was still pretty sheltered in and didn't really talk much.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
He basically just had white beater and a Kangol hat,
so he wasn't fully into his I think in gimmick.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
As Jeff calls it, the Cruise Rub of twenty twenty three,
he kind of opened up.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I think it definitely helped because I think though when
they came on as jerk appreciation. I think also how
over they were, and I remember we started seeing his humor.
I agree when he had a match and they pulled
out ladies underwear and they said, all these are moms,
and then they pantsed him and he was wearing his
mom's underwear.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
It was fucking hilarious. It was a lilac purple song
and it was frilly.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
And it was just he showed his person, he showed
his his goofiness. And then he would develop the dance
around that time, because I remember him and c. J. Perry.
Remember he would start doing the dance and she did
it back, and it just it took off and everyone
started doing the dance. We still do the dance because
it's just the thing. And then you have Rachel, you know,
a good friend Rachel to the dance. Well, you know

(20:55):
they it's it's something that I think worked for him
and it really helped elevate him with the crud because
then everyone started getting behind Garcia because he was entertaining,
he was fun, and he could fucking wrestle.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Yes, yes he could he can.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
I mean because look at September to kind of go
back a little bit back In September of twenty twenty two,
he won the Peer title from Wheeler Yuda and it's
incredible because that was really his first singles title in
EW before he won the T and T title, and
it was a lot of trust in him. And you
have put on some fucking great matches to again, more
clashes with the BCC, more showing what he can do,

(21:31):
his technical style, him wrestling at the Ring of Honor,
pea of view, getting more people behind. Holy shit, this
kid can wrestle.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Darsie's run through Ring of Honor really improved his charisma
and his ability to grab the crowd's eyes. Again. I
think it took him to a new height to see
his performance and to find out that he also loves
Joshi wrestling. I think that that really helps everything because

(22:03):
they have character work along with the magnificent outfits of
that and I was.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Gonna say, he likes their outfits and likes their whole style,
and it's so cool to see he appreciates that wrestling
is a buffet. He appreciates that wrestling is not just
three letters. Wrestling is worldwide.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Yeah, and I think that he throws in that hard
hitting style that he likes to watch and this is
another reason he did choose to sign with aw spoiler alert.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Wait he signs no, I agree because after the run
with the Peer title, you know, he he linked up
with Orange Casside. They started their beef and I was
so happy because I feel like after Orange Cassidy kind
of got the rub and kind of got the push,
he was kind of seen as like the next guy
to if you can work with Orange, you can work
with anyone. And it works because he essentially made fun

(22:49):
of Orange. He didn't take them seriously because no one
ever takes him seriously. You think they would learn by
now to take him seriously, Moxley, And it's just it
would lead to my dream match. And if you go
back and listen to our prediction. So Forbidden Door twenty
twenty three, you can see how much I marked out
for this because you had Shabata, Zach Saber, Junior, Garcia,
and Orange Cassie in a fatal four way match. So

(23:11):
I got to see Shibata, who he's already looked up
to and who I know is a great worker. I
got to see Zsha, who I absolutely love, Orange casting
Garcia in the same fucking ring I was like, let's
go in that match delivered.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
We just admit, like, athleticism is amazing no matter what
kind of athleticism you like in the ring. However, I
like a mixture of everything.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
She wants to see, like the action movies. Sometimes I
like to see the talkies. That's basically I think, what
is They told the story on the ground, but it
wasn't rewatching it for this episode. It wasn't as slow
as some can be. But I understand because you gotta
remember when she came into wrestling in twenty fourteen, it
had already evolved, so Matt's style is rare now it
was rare, so she didn't see the same amount of

(23:57):
you know, nineties wrestling that I saw with it in it.
So everyone has their different taste. But I liked it
because it showed you know, ZSG trying to break their fingers.
It showed Shabbata doing the crazy suplexes, to show Garcia
keeping up, putting the double submissions on it. Just to me,
it was everything I think really proved that Garcia could
main event and be a title holder in aw and
clearly a year later we were right because he is.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Maybe it's like my version of the wrestling buffet is
like the generic mac and cheese and chicken nuggies that
the kids like wrestling.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
But there's more than just I mean, you like the
PWG you like wrestling, you like I was gonna say,
I like the new Japan style. I mean again, it's
it's all about.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Character and athleticism, and I like athleticism, and I like
the story in the ring.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
So it's it's great because again, we're not gonna regrant everything. Look,
we're a husband and wife. We don't always agree on everything.
But you know what we don't do. We don't believe
each other because we don't like it. We just we
enjoy wrestling for what it is, entertainment. And Daniel Garcia
is an entertainer and a wrestler. So I'm happy that
we got to see the shries and so far because

(25:09):
it didn't stop there, because he really would show his
character side a few months later in Boston at Blood
and Guts Him and send me Gavara. The iconic image
is Gavara laying on the ground with his legs open,
tongue out, and then Garcia poking his head through like
a little baby. Oh my god, that image still is
my brain rent free, you know, and they would go

(25:29):
against better than You, Babey, and that crowd was hot
for both teams, like they wanted either team who went
obviously better than you. Beabe was the favorite because they
had the hottest storyline. But again he's mixing it up
with MJF and The Ring A little future spoiler here.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
I think that their work together has been awesome. I
think that they have really accommodated each other in the JAS.
I think that it elevated every single one of them,
like Jericho likes to do. If you look at Santana
or t and yeah, Santana and Ortiz, what am I thinking?

(26:05):
If you look at them, they really were able to
get more signings. Not that they weren't already good, don't
get me wrong, there they were, but they've been able
to really grow.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
I was gonna say, I mean, they went from a
niche where you know, TNA fans knew who they were
as Lax, Ring of Honor fans knew who they were,
but now it turned into okay, so they've been on
TV more. This is Pride and Powerful. Now this is Santana,
Ortiz Orties. You know, Unfortunately he's out with injury now,
but he's going to come back and guarantee he'll be
inserted somewhere because he's talented. Santana's killing it in TNA

(26:39):
right now, is able to go on a singles run
and show his stuff. So I guess Chercho puts people over, huh.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
J Kaeger had some awesome matches.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
He just kind of derailed himself, but that's a different story.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Yeah, he had awesome matches though. When he was in
AEW he had one of the first cage.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Matches that Wardlow fight in the Lions, and that was
pretty entertaining.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
I like this hat.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Also again MJF and Wardlow, they teamed up. We had
the Dinner debonair with jas.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
You know, I think it'd be funny if you put
later on down the Road the Scapegoat with Dana Garcia.
You know how they put the tag teams randomly together
and like Eliminator, How funny do you if they get
the pair offf next year or later on, just to
see if they could work together, because they kind of
both the same kind of person.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
They are really douchey, that's.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
A good word to put. So we'd fast forward to
these you know, late later half of the twenty twenty
three and Dan Garcia would be in his very first
Continental Classic. It wouldn't go so well for him because
unfortunately he was on a losing streak. But I'm gonna
ask Emily here who was the first person he beat
in the Continental Classic? Do you remember? Because there was
an iconic victory.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
The first person, some people he might have got crowned
because of it. Oh, I was gonna say Brian, but.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Now I don't know brody King.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
I was singing Buddy, not Brian.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
So he beat rody King and kind of proved at
the end he kind of he didn't, you know, perform
as well as he wanted the tournament, but he was
able to get some points and still have a good
showing in the end. Keep up.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
That's what I like about this. Can we talk about
this for a second.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Yeah, And I'm and he's in this year, so hopefully,
h he has a good redemption.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I think that something about this tournament that a lot
of people don't understand is that every single point matters,
which means that you're going to see them wrestled at
their very best. You're going to see them going for broke.
You're going to see them putting everything they have out there, going.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
For twenty minutes to see if they if they can't win,
they're going to try to get that one point for
a draw.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
It's something, you know, something is better than nothing. If
they're not, you know, gonna win, they're going to attempt
to break the time limit like you said, and.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
They get They all showcase because they're not five minute
squash matches. They're showcase matches like you just said. And
that's what helped Dane Garcia even more because he had
a good showing in every single match of the See
Too and then he beat rody King and every thought
he was gonna get squashed. So he's now at this
point uber over the crowd. Like he said, he's back
on the second cruise with us, making friends with Cam.

(29:08):
Cam loves him even more because of the second cruisers
all us because let's just say, karaoke with DG is
very fun.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Yes, he may have been snuck in.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
I also like that right before the cruise too, he
teamed with FTR to take on the House of Black
and that epic cage match on Collision and I think
that again that showed it. He because Brodie King wanted
his wrench. And that's what's great about the Continental Classic.
It sets up stories for the future. So he beat Brody.
Brody is pissed, so they have the House of Black
One after Daniel, Danny need help, so he chose FDR

(29:41):
and again as the as the JS has been broken up,
Danny's kind of on his own figure out to do.
Now he's got FTR on his side and he's in
one of the craziest cage matches in the EW and
then goes on the fucking boat the next day.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
I don't know how he did it.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
I really on the boat because that not was he
was getting.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Thrown must be some DDP why.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Something DDP why and some dance in his way all
the way across. We don't even need to congolo, and
we all need to like do the Dan Garcia all
the way through the trem This year, I say we
do it. That'd be so fun.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Cam can lead us.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
And then what I really like though, is, you know,
so we don't jump too far ahead because now we're
gonna obviously get into some more current events. But I
really liked that through you know, this first half his
career up until the beginning of twenty twenty four. He
really shined through because he was first signed. He's like, really,
you signed him? He looks plain, he looks average, and

(30:37):
now how many people like Danie Garcia Like how he's.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
So much money for WWE fans, we're hoping he'd get signed.
That says a lot. If you can hope to get
a wrestler signed, I'd say that that's a pretty great thing.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
I know. I like how he said that he wasn't
understanding their fans recruiting strategy. He's like, so apparently I
only want pretty women because like they're all trying to
like fantasy booking with. Look who you can be girlfriend with?
Can get this person? Is your girlfriend? Of this person?
This can be your gym partner. He's like, okay, So
he shout out to to uh the delete the Dane

(31:11):
Garcia deleted tweets account. Some of the funniest comedic goal
is Daniel Garcia tweeting something that it's something deleting, Like
I don't know if it's like regret or if it's
a shtick, but it's just he's got such a presence
now and I love that people are finally appreciating him
because as we get to his world, his ant he run.
I think there's more in his future because he is

(31:34):
willing to work. He's willing to show up and wrestle.
He's willing to work with whatever story you're gonna give him,
and he's willing to try. Because I think that's that's
all you can want, is a wrestling fan, Like I
get Creative's gonna suck every wrestling company. There's gonna be
things that you fantasy book and then you're mad that
they didn't happen. But Garcia went in there. I was like, okay,

(31:54):
I'll do this. I've never looked at the Garcia match
went wow, that sucked. I'm usually like, okay, maybe this
is the time. And he finally gets the title shot.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
It's that's just it, though, Like there's not looking through
his catalog. You can look at cagematch dot com. You
can look through his catalog of matches and just pick
a handful and just entertain yourself. I cannot believe the
amount of good matches he has, Like not everybody is
so fortunate. Him and Will Osprey probably have the highest

(32:23):
good match record.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
I mean the Osprey is definitely in the league of
his own too, because I think he's got like the
record for Dave Dave Meltzer's weird little star system there but.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Which even he doesn't agree with, which is so ironic.
Auspury is like, oh.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Osprey, I think, yeah, I mean that would make sense
for Dave too.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Yeah, but no.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Yeah, it's and I think that's the thing. It's how
you tell the story. And Emily earlier said how he's
a big fan of Joshi wrestling. He wants to go
to Japan. He wants to work in New Japan.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Yeah, and what better way than you know, this upcoming
big pay per.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
View wrestling Wrestle Kingdom CML. He go down to Mexico
and work down there. I think that's why, as Emily
kind of lutea, why he resigned, because he has opportunities
to wrestle all over the world. And I can't imagine
being a wrestling wrestling fan growing up knowing I'm going
to be a wrestler and not wanting to travel and

(33:23):
do what I love in front of more than just
my hometown, more than just my home country. I mean, look,
we've talked to wrestlers personally, we've listened to interviews, they
almost all say the same thing. I'd love to be
able to go to Japan. I'd love to go to Hawaii.
I'd love to go to Canada. They always want to
travel Jada, I want to go to Mexico. I want
to go to Japan. It's because they want to see

(33:45):
and feel different styles, different fandoms, because if you watch
wrestling in Britain, they cheer for different things than what
we cheer for here. I mean, look how rapid those
fan bases are overseas compared to our fan bases.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Yeah, and then you've got Japanese style, which if you're
not over you're gonna know yep. And the fact that
they are quiet regardless is intimidating because.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
They're more of a respectful crowd. Yeah. So they're going
to react to the good ship, but they're gonna they're
gonna let you know if nothing. If it doesn't work,
it'll be like a pin drop.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
So I think that it's really cool that he gets
to potentially live out his dream and get to travel soon.
What I would love to see is this TNT title
make its way across these promotions as well. I want
to see aew to use their partnerships like that, you know,

(34:33):
like what Mercedes has been able to do, and I.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Think It's gonna start doing that because you look at
his kind of path through the T and T title,
which will lead into this next part is you know,
he started out challenging Christian at Revolution and we were there.
We wanted Garcia to win so bad we were dancing
in the aisles. I have a picture of our son
dancing when he comes out to do his entrance, because

(34:57):
all we wanted to see was Garcia, but we knew
it wasn't time yet, but we were we were hopeful, and
then he didn't get it done. But then he comes
back and all of a sudden, well, Osprey is like,
I'll give you a match of this international title. He
starts racking up wins and then MGF. You know, it
was like Nope, that's not gonna happen. So then now
he's facing MGF at Wembley. But then MGF attacks him,

(35:19):
so he gets his rematch. It all out. He doesn't win,
but he beats the fuck out of MGF and sends
him back and all the way to Happy Gilmore too.
And then he comes back and Emily was so excited
because we were watching. All of a sudden we see
a parking line. Dan Garcia has announced he's re signed
with AW Baby.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
It's about time we had found that. I was honestly,
I was nervous, but I knew either way it was
going to be a good fit for him, and I
thank you.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Regardless of how I get to see them, like, I'm
just happy that they're on television and living out their dream.
I'm aware that not everyone's childhood dream was to be
in a new promotion. I'm aware of the majority of
wrestling or wrestlers at this very current moment only grew
up knowing WWE. It wasn't until the last five years.

(36:10):
So if you go back, they're eighteen. So you're telling
me a thirteen year old was like, oh, I want
to go when I want to win the aw World Championship.
It's gonna take time, It's gonna take a little bit.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
I mean, you have a one company that has literally
forty plus years, so four generations of fandom, you know,
grandparents down to grandkids. You know, dreams are going to
change because now it's not the only game mentality. You're
gonna like you said, our son who's ten, who's been
watching aw half his life. Yep, you know he sees
both companies, but he knows there's a choice. And he

(36:41):
told us He's like, if I ever get to wrestle,
I'd love the wrestling Wembley. And that's what aw ROT.
It brought an alternative and you know, Garcia got to
have his moment at one but anyway, he got to
come out and screw MGF. And I remember he talked
to an Aby the Embily played when we were driving.
He's like, I didn't think they'd remember me. You didn't
think they were Remember you got one of the loudest
pops at Wembley. They definitely remembered you.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Like Danny Garcia, do you know who you are? Like? What, Yes,
they're gonna know you. They've been waiting to hear from
you if they have been like on the edge of
their seat. Ready, Okay, where's he signing? Where do I
watch him? Now? What's gonna happen? Is he gonna go
fight Carmelo Hayes?

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Right? Is he going to be on the main Roster's
gonna be an NXT? Is he gonna come back to that?
He has unfinished business.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
With MJF and Osprey is now Ricochet, Like, there's so
much more and you know, Shabata gets a title shot
at some point.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
There's so much more, and I think that's where, you know,
the last segment of our episode is that's kind of
fantasy book like where we want to see Diano Garcia
kinda end the year out and like, what do we
see for next year him because he's finally TNT title.
We finally got what we wanted to see him with
gold and aw or do you think he will keep
the black and REGs that look pretty bad ass with him?

Speaker 3 (37:58):
I think he's going to keep the original title. I
don't see him doing a real like custom unless it's
Red Death Customed. But I do want to see him
kind of get a record with.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
This in some way like maybe most defenses are something crazy.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Yeah, I want him to like yeah, And what I
really truly would love is to get that open challenge
back for this.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
I want to see that again because honestly, like Garcia
challenged for this way back in the beginning when Cody
had it, I believe.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
He did, and then he tried to challenge Christian, so
it took him three times to get this.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
And he's not going to let it go easy.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
And he knows what's that steak. He knows that his
reputation is at steak And oh my god, can you
imagine if Blackwood Answer is one of the open challenges?

Speaker 3 (38:45):
But that's just it. We saw Warhorse Answer to Cody Rhodes,
my favorite Arn Anderson promo, So sorry, I still.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Loved that two years ago.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
It was around this time foot in Mouth.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
I don't think he's I don't know. He was just
like all the promos I've done, that was your favorite.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
He was not impressed at all.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
I don't think he's ever smiled. Is he ever impressed?

Speaker 3 (39:09):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
I don't know, No, But I'm excited to see, Like, yeah,
open Challenge, that's a great one. I think that's a
great first start Open Challenge. We got World's End up, Like,
who do you think should feud at World's End?

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Oh? I got to see is that the next promo
or is that the next pay per view.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
A few weeks away?

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Ready? See? I do kind of miss like the four
year format. This is too much.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
I mean, I think right now you have to look
at who's kind of been waiting. We have Adam Copeland
who never really lost his title, so he could probably
get a rematch if he comes back in January. After
World's End, you know, you have someone like a Nick
Wayne who could go after which I think that would
be a great first feud him and Nick Wayene. Like
you said earlier, let the two young kids go at it.
Maybe Nick Wayne wants to step up to get gold

(39:59):
to be like his dad, or when.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
It back for his dad, and like Leech Source, he
doesn't get to hold it.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
See I don't think you do that twice though, because
Nick Wayene, I feel like they gotta.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
That is what breaks Nick Wayne, that's what wakes him up.
I don't know he Christian Cage. Christian Cage does the
dirty with the belt with his mommy.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
I don't want to think about that, and he's like,
not my mom.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
I like, there's the family broadcast.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
There's the sports entertainment next week on Dynamite. Christian leaves
pape to Mama Wayne with the with.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
The title belt. That's why this is important. With Nick
Wayne's title belt.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
So she's naked wearing the belt or he's naked wearing
the belt.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Takes up to you listen to Chelsea Green's Green with
envy and you'll learn all about championship.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Fucking Can you imagine that first promo with Nick Wayne
you blinked, my mama where my gold? Like what? That
would be pretty funny. I'm not gonna lie, but I
don't know if I would personally enjoy that, but I
think that would be funny.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
It would be funny.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
It would be funny. I could also see, you know,
Jack Perry asking for a rematch. I don't they don't
do a lot of those automatic but I can see that,
you know who I.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Could see going for this. Who's that he's sitting next
to you? Wheeler Uda, Wheeler Dah, because they've been a
constant since the very start of Garcia is you know wrestling,
you know.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
I could also see, you know, like a dark horse candidate,
maybe someone that we don't see, maybe like a shoddy
Lee like maybe someone who hasn't really been on the
spotlight saying, you know what, why don't you give me
a shot? Like you said, kind of open challenge format,
But it doesn't always have to be a blood feud.
It could just be yo, let me get a shot.
Let me see what you got, Danny. I could see
that about Angela Park comes back and like a respects match, like, hey,

(41:54):
I had your back, why don't you give me a shot?

Speaker 3 (41:56):
I don't see that happening, but that would be cool.
I could.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
I could see that and his mom point.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Okay, I see Marina Shafir challenging for it before that interesting.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
I never like.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
Ripley. I think she's being booked more like a d
X China.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Which is kind of the same. So I can see both.
I mean, technically, they've never said if there's a gender
on TBS or TNT. I just want to point that out.
They've never put a gender is to it.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
I just think that it's interesting that Willow has been
the first person to attack Marie. So I don't know,
we'll see what about you know again this I feel
like I derailed from Garcia.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Sorry, no, we're trying to see who could you said
Maria Shafir could go into against Garcia. That could be
an interesting see if Tony would reach that. But you
know what if Moxley says square, I want that belt
for my briefcase too, Like what if he wants to
collect all the belts like Kenny did.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
That's why you comes into play audio.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
If if Berty King wants a challenge back, like, there's
so many Malachi Like, there's so many people I think
could step up, and poor Buddy, you know, he could
even wor come match with Hologram eventually returning Hologram. So
I think there's a lot of potential. And then you
have obviously Australia comes up, you have Grand Slam. Buddy
Murphy should get a shot. That that's why I think
Buddy Murphy would get a great shot there. She just

(43:21):
got an idea here, folks.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
You know who would make a great TBS champion or
TNT champion, TNT champion.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Mors?

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Yes, can you imagine the title belt being his leather,
like his the same material as his face?

Speaker 2 (43:39):
No, that'd be weird, But I think Mortals Scarce would
be fun. I don't want him to take it off Garci,
but I think it'd be a fun match. You say
him be furry title, that's furry. Oh man, I think
we've gone off the deep end of the ocean here
on this one. So I think I'm gonna ask you
one last question before we totally wrap up, and first
time you might make fully cheap. Make sure you follow

(44:01):
us at using the KFA. But all of our socials
check out Pro Wrestling Tease Slash CWK podcast coming soon.
There's some merch on there, not sponsored, not sponsored, but
yeah pro and slashwkpod check it out. Also, I hear
the undone Or in studio right now recording an eighteen
track album eighteen eighteen, and I like it, says Alice Cooper.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
So that's like a very long vlog for us. If
you continue to.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
Watch absolutely, hey, you know what I'll take. I'll take
more songs for our album because they put out great songs.
So now to go back to finish for Diane Garcia,
you have yall In next year in Texas.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Do you see him keeping the title to yall In
or do you see him losing it soon?

Speaker 3 (44:50):
Depends on this Death Riders situation. I have a hard
time planning for the future right now because the future
looks very dim. I thowt it. We're in Cassidy was
gonna pull it out, And I was right about the
blood orange. I was not right about the wind, No,
you weren't.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
That's okay, it was.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
I was also right about Willow fucking Nightingale.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
You were you called that? I tried. I tried to
get your attention so much. I was like, it's Willow.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
I passed out.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
You Also, you also were up since like four am before, so.

Speaker 3 (45:21):
I mean caught me some slack.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
I didn't. I was going to say you were like
twenty one hours a week, So it happens. I'm not judging.
I'm just saying I try to get attention. You're like,
oh my god, you called that.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
I just it was my feeling. You know, that's who
was gonna come out.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
So you can't see too far Okay, you can't.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
See too far in the future on this. Unfortunately, I
do want him to again get a record. What if
he holds the longest run? I don't know. Do you
know off top who has that the TNT.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
I think Cody had it the longest, but it's not
consecutive because it was hot potatoed for a while, So
why are you looking it up. I'm gonna see if
I can guess. I would probably say Cody because in
the open challenge thing, I think he had it longer
until Darby hare thrown him.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
So so Cody's run, well, one of them was ninety
one days and the other was Brody Lee at forty six,
so that's hard to want that beat now.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
I mean Cody's run in ninety that's three months, so
we're looking at at least Australia. I think that's due. Yeah,
let him get that record, let him establish it, because
that's kind of what the TNT title needs. It needs
to like what I'm not saying what Gunther did for
the ic title, where you hold it for almost two years,
but if you hold it for six months, make it
like a meaningful record, it's going to be more of

(46:40):
a meaningful belt if he has, like you said, so
there's that record, he could actually have the most offenses
and hold it the longest.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
Add to that lineage, definitely, the very long lineage. Can
we just say that Cody Rose held it three times
in the short timeframe they had the belt while he
was there.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
I mean, he really did help introduce it too, because
like you said, he started the open chanl thing him
putting Darby Allen over. They helped get Darby Allen recognition,
Sammy Gavarro in that insane ladder match with him, obviously
Brodie Lee and the iconic red belts. When he held it,
it's just it's a very meaningful belt. I'm very It's
one of the reasons I bought that red belt because

(47:18):
and means a lot to me, just because it's when
aw was really hitting on all cylinders me not that
it isn't now, but seeing Garcia add to that legacy,
I think it's more fair because he had a great
run with that team with the Limitless Belt. You know,
he had almost a history making run with it. So yeah,
let's say, let's go. I'm gonna say I.

Speaker 3 (47:36):
Think twenty five reigns between fourteen different championship.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah, it's because there was a lot of hot shot
bucking with like Hobbs and one. Yeah, there were some
issues with it. Yeah, so yeah, he's the twenty fifth champion.
So hey, there you go. It's like I said, So,
I'm gonna say he keeps it until at least Revolution,
so I'll break the record for you. So I'm gonna
say at least Revolution, so March.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
I want to see him break records. I just want
to see him break one, just really truly shine with
this run. I think it's his time. This is it.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
You can't see him as time is now, No, I.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
Can't see him Danny can wrestle.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
And you'd like to see him because he's a wrestler.
So no, I absolutely love Garcia. I hope you guys
again go check out some of his YouTube matches outside
of aw will be pleasantest price. I would say Limitless PWG.
Anything with him and uh Kevin Black would be great
to watch. Check out the Limitless channel because they have

(48:37):
some awesome footage of his matches. I don't think he'll
be disappointed.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
There's not a disappointing match. If you find one, let
us know. I'm just curious, all right.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
So before I sign this off, everything else you want
to add.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
Danny's a wrestler.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
