(00:00):
Hey guys, and welcome to anotherepisode of Cubed the Marvel Snap Podcast.
As you can see, we arejoined back with Dawn on the right,
Dark aka Dark Helmet, and backChoi aka Dakota on our left. How
y'all doing tonight? Doing good? All right, it's a beautiful night.

(00:25):
I'm sorry, I'm part of partof us starting this pretty late. Is
my tardiness, but you know weare started, so let's get into it.
Actually we instead of actually going oversome of the cards at the moment,
I wanted to talk to you guysa little bit about the series X
Men ninety seven. So I knowwe've been actually talking about this personally on

(00:51):
trying to talk about this on thepodcast, but I know we've never found
the time too because not New Versebut Second Dinners always come out with like
an ota or an update. Sonow that we actually don't have anything,
if I'm not mistaken, right,we don't have anything. Yeah, I

(01:12):
think there's nothing, all right,So we actually have time to talk about
X Men ninety seven, So,uh, just brief overall before we get
into it. What did you guysthink of the series in general? Let'st
at what you done? Oh,man, I loved it. You know,

(01:34):
it felt like such a clean versionof the old series. Like it
took me a second to kind ofadjust to some of the voices, you
know, because I had gotten soused to just hearing the same like,
you know, Rogue, even thoughit's the same voice actor. You know,
it's been so many years since she'splayed that part. You're just like,
huh, something doesn't seem quite righthere. But you know what,

(01:57):
Like after it's the first episode,it all just started clicking in place,
and I was like, and tobe honest, I loved it. I
absolutely loved this thing. I meanthe moment when like Gambit just kind of
goes, you know, remember myname and he just like blows up that
giant sentinel. Oh, it wasjust amazing. You already skip into the

(02:22):
end. How about you, Dakota? Overall the series, what do you?
How do you feel about it?It was amazing, you know,
like the amount of work they putin, the budget increased, everything,
Like just every scene had such agood cinematography. Everything flowed so well.

(02:45):
It's hard to describe that show onthe same league as anything else. It
just blew my mind at how wellthe production was. The sound design,
the story arc, they just madeit their own, and I was just
I loved how each character had abad ass moment throughout the whole show.
So for me, I don't know, it's just hard to condense it down

(03:07):
other than just saying this is badass. You haven't watched it yet,
you need to put this on youragenda top priority. I agree. Yeah,
So from my end, I feellike I like how they kept the
the kind of old vibe that theold X Men had, like the the

(03:28):
the art style. I like howthey didn't change it to like something like
X Men. What's the one thatcame after that? Yeah, evolution,
Yeah, I like the arts islandthere. But because it was a continuation
of the X Men that started inninety two, I like how they kind
of kept that flavor to it whereit's just like it's still the same show.

(03:50):
It's taking off from the same show. I know they did a lot
of story arcs in the old show, but I know they can still go
back to it. I mean, you've seen, you've seen some stuff that
they've done before that. You know, people that haven't watched the with the
one in ninety two to ninety sixcan still watch it from X Men ninety

(04:12):
seven and just be like, Okay, the only thing you need to know
is Charles Xavier was shot and wassent to space, right, so if
you knew, if you knew thatdetail, then you could continue from x
N ninety seven. You don't haveto see anything from ninety two to ninety
six. But I still would giveit a try because if you're a fan
of Marvel Snap, these the cardsthat we play are actually in the show.

(04:39):
And I watched the show before, not to its entirety, but just
being able to see those cards, like I know that card. Now,
I know that card. You know, I know that character because of Marvel
Snap. So it's cool to knowthat Marvel Snap is teaching me things about
Marvel that I haven't learned. Sonow, uh, let's kind of go

(05:01):
a bit more in depth. I'mgonna pull up a quick synopsis and just
kind of like go episode by episode. I just wanna, I wanna,
because each episode had kind of it'sit kind of introduced if you didn't notice,
at the very beginning, they hada different person intuh say, like

(05:26):
on the last episode, right, and so when they said that it was
actually an episode about them, souh, the first one was let's see
give me a second, Give mea second. Okay, so the first
one was to Me my x men. So this starts off, you know,

(05:50):
just a quick synopsis. This startsoff with you know, actually,
do do you want to do?Spoilers? No, people should have watched
your right by now. Right ifif you're a fan of cubed, you
should have watched it by now.So yeah, we're talking about it.
You know, if you are intoMarvel's app and you haven't seen this show,

(06:12):
yeah, what the hell are youdoing? You're gonna you're gonna get
or or or whatever. Y gowatch the show, you know, skip
the podcast, just go watch ashow, watch and catch up afterwards.
Yeah, because uh, I'm prettysure people have covered episode by episode.
So you're about to get a fistfull of spoilers right now. So,

(06:33):
like I said, the title wasto Me My ex man and basically,
uh, this is when they introducedRobert Roberto DaCosta, which is sun Spot.
You know, he actually introduced himselfat the end but of the series,
but it introduces him coming kind ofa person that hides his powers.

(06:53):
He gets captured by the uh uhfriends of humanity and then you know X
Men rescue him and so and so. So it ends with Magneto revealing that
Xavier gave him the the school totake over. So I want to start

(07:14):
with you, Dakota. How didyou feel about this episode in particular,
pick particular and what was your favoritepart of it? So? I think
that having Magneto come in to theend kind of encapsulated. You're setting up
this this new era of X Men, like we have this whole of the

(07:34):
Charles Xavier whaleest. You see himstep in the role and you're just like,
what what are we going with this? It ends with you going like,
oh, shoot, they're gonna fightand then he's all He's like,
yeah, this is why child gavethem me. It was like, oh
crazy. I was okay. Sowhen when this time I was folding laundry,
I had to stop fuldundry to sitdown and was like, oh my

(07:56):
god, this is getting good.Yeah. So I think that this episode
was such a great setup for whatwe were going to get into in the
show. I just want to leaveit with that. It just it did
such a good job. And yousaid your favorite part was the ending the
Magneto part. Yeah, and nowthis is the one when we got to
see the Sentinels and everything. Justthis is the first episode, you said,

(08:18):
right, first episode. Yeah,so they we see the Friends of
Humanity have the Sentinel handguns, andthen if they fight and then they actually
go to Genosha, I believe todestroy the old factory again. And I
want to mention one thing right therewhen he talks the storm, give him

(08:39):
the weather report, or how thehell Cyclops brings her in the moment of
her walking in the desert, likefloating down the lighting boats, striking the
sand, turning it the glass broI had goose bumps. Okay, I
was like, oh ship, theintensity, the music, it was so
insane. You're watching Cyclops. He'sfalling out of the freaking the jet.

(09:03):
Everyone's like getting together, Okay,we were safe. And then he goes,
good job team. I'm like,yo, who's gonna say this here?
Uses his vision optical blast all themy gosh. Okay, first of
all, your neck would have beengone. But besides that, it was
amazing. Oh man, they justthey took they took Cyclops turn into a

(09:24):
motherfucker. It was it was ohwell, I had to recap the end,
just the fucking fights. Oh mygosh. Yeah, all right,
so how about you done? Well? You know, Dakota kind of took
you know, all the favorite parts, but you know, you know what,

(09:45):
Okay, I love that Dakota wasso excited about it. Here's what
I really loved about this episode. It has a lot of symmetry with the
first episode of the series in thefirst place. Right, So, so
the very first episode of the XMen series, it's basically like Jubilee Jubilee,
right, and she's at the mallright, and she gets attacked by

(10:07):
the Sentinels and she gets saved, right, Yep. It's nice how they
introduced a new character who's kind ofright on that, you know, that
new character kind of figuring out theirpower, is gonna do all that.
But they also came in and savedher. So there's a little bit of
symmetry there that I think worked outreally well. I mean, plus all
the badass moments that you know togo to just sucked about. I mean,

(10:30):
let's be honest, Like, Iwill say, I was a little
bit confused at one point where Iwas just like, hey, where did
Angel come from? I'm like,oh yeah, morph yeah. Yeah.
And what's funny is because if ifyou haven't watched or if you haven't played
Marvel Snap, a lot of Morph'scards are his original form, right,

(10:52):
But in X Men ninety seven theydidn't draw him like that, and don
you're kind of stuck. I mean, I love how he saw Okay,
there he is, all right,So yeah, like they had him in
his natural form. Where in theX Men ninety two to ninety six is
they had him as a you know, like not himself, right, I

(11:16):
don't know. I don't know ifthat's how they introduced him in the comics
though, So I don't know toomuch about Morph, but all of the
cards that Marvel Snap does have ishim in the form that he is now,
and then he transformed into his inone of the later episodes into how
he looked previously. So it's it'scool that they did give a nod back
to be like, hey, guys, this is how he looked in the

(11:37):
beginning, but you know, nowwe're going to maybe if this is the
original. I don't know if youknow about that. Don Win, thank
you for the follow say that onemore time, So I don't know if
you know more about like how morphshe introduced how he was in ninety two

(12:01):
or is is he actually how hewas in ninety seven? Like, was
he introduced like that morph himself wasquote unquote killed in the ninety two Yeah,
it was like the second half ofthe first episode. Yeah, so

(12:22):
he was hit by that sentinel andthen appeared until you know, he came
back many many episodes. Yeah, but more of more about his like his
appearance, like was he introduced likehumanoid or was he because he everyone you
know, he looks like an alien, right, A lot of people say
he looks like an alien. Butwas he introduced like that in the comics

(12:43):
as like in the alien form?Or was he introduced like in humanoid form?
Do some google right now? Okay, so, uh well, I
kind of want to speak on Myfavorite part of the episode of this was,
of course the very first introduction ofCyclops again where he saves Roberto da

(13:07):
Costa from the Friends of Humanity. And you know, in the old in
the old episodes, he would besitting there and just firing optic blasts,
right, but in this one heactually uses it to reposition himself into a
more advantageous positioning and then he useshis his blast to you know, to

(13:33):
to to not you know, justyou know, knock keeople back, of
course, but not only that,he's also fighting, you know, he
hand to hand combat. You neverreally saw that in the old one.
He was just like there to bea you know, optic blast guy bam
bam, bam bam. Right,And yeah, you never really saw the

(13:54):
different types of optic blasts he cando. And in this episode it rained
from stunning somebody really really quickly tofreaking stopping his full descent from a plane
down to the earth. So,you know, I love how they showed
his versatility as a leader as well. So everybody thought, you know,

(14:20):
Wolverine was the man because of youknow, Hugh Jackman and that what was
it, two thousand and three XMen movie, So I'm not too sure
what year, but yeah, youknow, everyone thought, you know,
who's cyclops. He is always secondfiddle to Wolverine. And it's not that,
you know, it's not that it'sthe other way around, where Wolverine's

(14:41):
like the side character. You know, it's just people like Hugh Jackman Moore,
I guess, or I don't know, people like Wolverine better. So
it's just it was a fan kindof thing. So that was episode one.
Episode two was called Mutant Liberation Begins, so he this is when Magneto

(15:03):
is taken by the the U nif I'm not mistaken, and he's on
trial, and then it ends withGene at the end having a identical twin

(15:24):
or something, you know copy.So let's start with you don like,
what how did you feel this episodewent for yourself? Man, it was
a whirlwind, right, like fightingthat medaline Pryor was around, just seeing

(15:45):
the whole fighting at the Mutant Liberation, you know, or at the un
Obviously, the favorite moment was whereMagneto just kind of lifted everything up into
the middle of the air and he'sjust like, I will protect you all
all. Like it was just freakingamazing. Man. You know, I

(16:06):
feel like they did so many thingsin these these short episodes. You're just
like talking about every scene. You'relike, well, uh, well there
was the conversation between you know,uh Storm and and Jing Gray, who
was actually a maddalone Pryor. Ye, you know, we're talking about losing
powers and then you know it happensto this episode and you're just like,

(16:29):
who man, it was it wasa roller coaster ride and and like it
was, I was all about it. How about yourself to go to what
would you say? What's your favoritepart of this episode? The cult line
from Magneto just don't make me letyou down? That was insane exactly what
you were saying. On when hehad everybody up, He's looking over the

(16:52):
world and he's like, Charles's visionwas that we could live together, and
he's like, I'm trying to proveto you that I can do that.
Don't make me let you down.Oh man, dude, I was just
I was literally I had to goback your eyes because that speech was cold
as fuck. Man, I've neverheard any like that's like Danos level speech
is right there, like you know, like, oh, this is good

(17:14):
man. After that's that one scenealone, like t Magneto, bitch,
this is my boy. Yeah, that was watching Storm shot that whole whole
scene when that was the thing likewe messed, like when Moore started using
their abilities and like all of asudden, he was siloed, like what

(17:36):
the fuck is going on? Hewas God for it, man, it
was. It was a really awesomefight. It was a well done episode
for sure. Yeah, yeah,I do. I do like how they
actually had the Friends of Humanity hada a person that can contest the X
Men, right, Uh, You'vealways seen them with their little blasters,

(17:57):
but there's this guy that can actuallyfight back, like hand to hand combat.
Who was a strategist. You knowhe knew information about you know,
probably not as much information as hethought he knew. But you know,
you saw that the Friends of Humanitywere actually a threat. You know,
the X Men weren't just holding back. They actually were trying to fight this

(18:18):
guy, and they had somebody thatcould contest. Uh. Like, like
you mentioned earlier, that Magneto speechwas the gravitas of of that Magneto speech
right and overseeing the world. Itis just like you know, you see
later episodes where you know, Magnetohas the power to say what you know,

(18:45):
walk the walk right basically where don'tdon't make me let you down,
because he can do it. He'sgot the power, he's he's he can
be an Omega level threat, rightas as the Sentinels say later on.
And on top of that, likewhen you know what we were talking about
earlier, you mentioned Dakota of morphI was I was always confused by how

(19:07):
Morph changes, Like what are thedifferences between him and Mystique, right,
because it seems like when Morph changesinto that person, he actually has their
powers. Yeah, so I don'tknow if that's exactly how Mystique is or

(19:27):
if they work differently, but I'mall for it. Right. You know,
we got to see so many differentchanges on how what Morph can do
as a mutant, and he becamethe badass that he should be, you
know, like he is a prettybadass character to be able to copy like,

(19:49):
you know, any not even onlymutants. Right. We see later
on where he turns into the Hulk, and I mean, he's probably not
as strong as a Hulk or youknow, but he's able to do something
with that power, which is amazing. It turns a side character into a
pretty much a really cool main character. So besides that, I think,

(20:15):
what is that there was something elsein this episode that happened? Yes,
like you mentioned Storm gets shot. But yeah, let's move on to the
next episode where it's it's called FireMade Flesh And this is the episode where

(20:37):
we have double jeans and they don'tknow which one. They find out that
the one that's been staying with themis the copy, and so she actually
named herself Madeline Pryor at the endof it, and she tries she basically
is controlled by Sinister for a littlebit and let's see and then oh okay.

(21:03):
At the end of this also Forgeintroduces himself to Storm and says that
he could claim he could cure herfrom losing her powers. So let's start
with Youdkoda, how did you feelabout this episode? This one had a
lot to unpack. I mean, you're watching the character go through such an
emotional perspective of like, wow,my whole life. I thought it was

(21:26):
something. Now apparently I'm not misterSinister coming in always causing havoc. Like,
they definitely brought in that ass justhe's a strong villain, but they
really nerved him at the same time. And I think that they did that
just to show how strong Madeline is, just to kind of just focus on
her insane ability to just completely mindban you and whatever. I think they

(21:52):
did a good job bringing in setup for cable everything else. That was
just a solid episode. I loveWards too. My man is just a
humble dude out there that that momentof him just like I want to help
you do what we can. Youfind out why, you know in the
later episode. But yeah, thatwas such a good setup and it was
it was wild. I really likedthat one. How about yourself done?

(22:15):
Man, DA could have said itlike it was a wild episode. Absolutely
my favorite and the saddest part ofthe episode I think was definitely you know
when Cable gets infected and they haveto send him away to the future.
I mean I don't know, asa dad, I was just like my

(22:36):
boy, no, yeah, right, but man, that was you know,
it was a little heartbreaking at theend there. Yeah, okay,
so, uh we get a littlesnippet of everybody's fears a little you know,
kind of like can these other characters. You see that Roberto DaCosta is

(22:59):
afraid of of his mom finding himout he's a mutant, right. So
they always say that the The XMen resonated a lot with the LGBTQ community
because it was like similar to whatthey were growing up, where they were
shunned from being who they are.And I mean, uh, there was

(23:21):
I think it was X Men twowhere you know the mom one of the
the mom of Iceman says like, have you tried not being a mutant,
right, you know, she said, you know, So it's just like,
you know, there's so many similaritiesto what they had to go through
that that that they take a shota liking to you know, X men,
and I feel I feel for whatthey have to go through in that

(23:45):
perspective. But uh, it's coolthat they actually kind of build into that
where they actually show that, youknow, it's one of his fears,
right, being found out he's amutine. People are still scared to be
to come out as a mutant. Now we see a weird kind of fear

(24:07):
with Morph, right, So Morphwalks into Wolverine showering and he says,
hey, uh, you need youneed help to get the hard to reach
spots right or something like that, and then I think he turns into Wolverine
himself or or something. I don'tknow, but it's just weird. So

(24:30):
we find out that Morph is,Oh, he's not asexual, He's he's
gender fluid. So in my mind, it's it seems like he has a
a crush on Wolverine, right like, and you know, of course Wolverine's

(24:53):
stuck in this love triangle with Scottand Jean, but he has this guy
over here. Well I don't wantto say guy, this uh, this
person over here, that could beanybody he wants. So what do you
guys? You know, kind ofI kind of feel like it's kind of

(25:14):
it was kind of played down, but you also see it. You know,
we'll talk about it later in theepisode. Well, you know,
he's he says, you know,in the end, you know, when
Wolverine gets Adamantium torn out of himmost spoilers, you know, he's by
Wolverine's side and he goes, youknow, she can't say it, but
I can, and he you know, he transforms to Gene and he says,

(25:37):
I love you or something along thoselines. Right, So, just
in that way, I feel likemorph has a hidden Do you think it's
it's hidden or do you think Wolverineknows. I didn't even go ahead to
go to Yeah, honestly, Ididn't even take it like that. It

(26:00):
was more he's just messing around. When he was like when he turned into
himself and was like you have toget the harder beach places like I'm my
bro. That's that's no different thanlike, you know, we're goofing off,
just messing around. This guys stuff. I didn't think of it in
any way Throughout the entire season.I never took anything that he was saying
in that light of like there's morethan a friendship, more than at all,

(26:22):
you know. Yeah, I knowthat. I have seen comments on
like X Men studios. There's alot of people like, oh, what
is this you know, and I'mlike, well, I don't. I
guess I'm just over my head ifthat's what they're going with it, because
I am from my perspective, didn'tsee like an agenda being pushed where we're
you know, like you said thatidea of X Men when he was like

(26:47):
when they're like, well, haveyou tried not being immusant? You know,
Like I'm not saying that. Iwas upset that they were trying to
throw the in and I just Ididn't even notice that, you know what
I'm saying. Like to me,it just it was just like this is
more. I don't see anything outof it. It just is what it
is. I mean, homie,Yeah, he's he's literally just like honey,
he could be whatever the heck hewants to be. I don't know,
or it is whatever it is.I don't know how he wants to

(27:08):
be. I did not see kindof relationship building I mentioned alert when he
was like, she can't say it, but I can't. Yeah, I'm
going to tend to be Jean Grayin Wolverine voice that Wolverine loves hearing the
words that he wants in a wayto bring him back to reality, not

(27:30):
so much more of his like Ican't say this because Marcus, what the
fucking wants? You know what Imean? Like, I took it more
like that personal. That's my sense, okay, because I feel like it
was. It was his way ofactually saying his feelings, right. So
I think he knows that Logan wouldn'twant to be with somebody like him,

(27:52):
of course, because Logan's in lovewith Jeane, right, but for a
guy that can be Gene for him, you know, he's just like,
why not look my way? Right? But it's not who you know,
it's not Logan isn't in love withthe thought of Gene, right, He's
actually in love with Jene. Sobut he knows, like he says,

(28:15):
uh, I don't know if it'sthis episode, but he talks to Gene
and she, oh, yeah,it's actually the previous one where they give
birth to Nathan where he's like, she ends up kissing him and he goes,
no, your gene and and I'mWolverine and you know it's not this

(28:38):
is not meant to be. Heknows it's not meant to be, right,
but it doesn't change the fact onhow he feels about her. And
I feel like Morph is kind oflike that too, right, He's he's
the the guy outside of the relationship, you know, wishing he was in
that relationship. You know, Likewhat Wolverine is to to Scott Summers and

(29:03):
gene Morph is to Wolverine is whatis how I feel? How about yourself?
Don huh? I don't know. It's interesting because like, isn't that
that the ambiguity ambiguity? I can'teven say it right now, I know
what you're saying. It's so ambiguous, right, So, Like the beauty
about this thing is, like,we know the X Men have always been

(29:26):
about civil rights, Yes, weknow that. This whole story, you
know, mutants, even starting backwhen they were created, has everything to
do with that, right. Sothe nice thing about this whole series has
been it's been very subtle in alot of the things. It didn't feel
preachy, right, No, youknow, not at all. You can

(29:47):
take things one way, you couldtake things another way, you know,
and I really enjoyed that about it, you know. Yeah, you know
what you could read into the wholeidea that Morph was in love with with
Wolverine or maybe that it was justyou know, a bromance right where it
was that you could really they readthat either way, because they didn't say,

(30:15):
Okay, let's say I'm dying here. No, no again, I
don't know if you knew. Youkind of froze for a second, but
we both kind of give, like, but yeah, I agree. So
I feel like with that being said, it's just like, you know,
overall, the the community loves whatthey did with you know, with how

(30:38):
they portrayed everything, and I haven'theard a lot of complaints to one that
we could talk about later on.So the next episode is called Motendo Life
Death Part one, and this iswhen uh Jubilee gets dragged into a video

(31:03):
game by Mojo and she basically learnsabout herself and how she can use her
powers. Now. The other storyis a Forge takes Storm to his ranch
and basically he admits about being theperson that created the radiation bullet that you

(31:32):
know, took away her powers orlike, you know, he started it
basically because he started the Callers, which uses a radiation and they somebody else
improved on that technology and turned itinto a beam of radiation that can take
mutants powers away. And then afterafter that, in the end of that

(31:53):
one, there's an an owl thatreveals itself to to be a demon called
the Adversary and bring Storm back tothe She brings Storm back to the ranch
where forges when she's about to leave. So let's start with you, don
how did you feel about this episode? Man? I absolutely love this episode.

(32:17):
I don't know if you guys rememberwhen the Blob card first came out,
and like the entire week, Iwas like, something could stop the
Blob. You know, this wholething parkens right to that game, right
the quarter eating Machine Arcading. Thatwas basically the whole Julee line. So

(32:39):
I was just super excited about it. The other half of it, like,
I definitely enjoyed, you know, seeing the the or sorry, the
forge storm kind of play out,you see, you know, for just
guilt through the whole process. Itwas great. But I'm not gonna lie

(33:00):
I was caught up in the nostalgiaof the other part of the thing where
I'm just like nothing could stop theblob it magneto. Oh man, I
love this so much. How aboutyourself, Dakota, how did you feel
about this episode overall? So thesame thing, like Don mentioned in episode

(33:21):
six, we talked roughly about thevideo games we played in any Marvel games
as kids and stuff, and Donbrought this game up. So when this
episode started and I started seeing thecharacters and the way the picks, I'll
go, oh, my gosh, this looks like the one because I had
looked it up after that, youknow, like, oh, shoot,
this is actually it. So Iwas excited the one Don talked about,

(33:42):
pumped about it. When the demonand everything showed up, I was so
thrown off, dude, I willnot lie. I was just like,
wait, what the fuck is goingon? Because in the episode, I
don't know if it's the same episodeof it's the episode four when she's riding
the horses and she's talking about thewind. The wind. Yeah, it's
like, oh, yeah, thisis the valley is you know, I

(34:02):
can't remember how she worried it,but the owl was there. Yes,
it So when that thing showed upand it thought it was a demon,
I was like, you know whathappened to the owl man? Yeah?
Over here, bro? Yeah.So that was this episode that was the
same one episode four. Yeah, okay, yeah, that was It was

(34:22):
a very interesting I like when showsdive deep into characters back or just to
get into the nitty gritty about whatmakes them tick. Having the reveal of
the fact that Forge is the onethat made the caller and then she starts
looking within and then I mean thesame thing with Jubilee. The whole thing
is she's realizing, oh my gosh, if I keep going down this path,

(34:44):
which I'm really good at, I'mgoing to stay here the rest of
my life to take out. Soit was a look within episode and I
thought that was a really awesome, like reflective thing. So I enjoyed that
one too. Yeah. Yeah,And I feel like this episode was it
showed what Jubilee could actually do withher powers, right, because in the
old episodes or the old show, she never really did much right. You'd

(35:06):
see you'd see fireworks here and there, but you could see that she could
use it like as a pinwheel kindof effect and use it to cut things.
She could use it to move faster. So there's much more to her
powers than just showing fireworks. Right. So it's so funny that in the
old show where it's just like,oh fireworks, batman, memm right,
No, let me distract you,you know, but she could actually use

(35:29):
it to hurt somebody, which youknow, you know, fireworks hurt people
almost every year, so be carefulthe more, you know. So,
yeah, it shows the badass thatJubilee could be, and you know,
it kind of transitions later on towhere she actually learned from her simulation self

(35:53):
to be like, Okay, Icould do that, you know, so
maybe I should start learning how todo that in real life. And it
shows that she's ready to move on. She's ready to become adult. She's
not just stuck as a kid anymore. Where she you know, maybe I
just want to stay here, right, No, you know, I need
to be able to move on pastthis. And you know, I think

(36:15):
Roberto helps her kind of find thatin herself, where you know, he
is kind of stuck when it's like, oh, I want to stay hidden,
right, and so she they kindof push each other to be better
versions of themselves, which which Ilike, you know, like it's not
just a relationship, it's it's somethinglike, you know, how real relationship

(36:35):
should be. You push each other'sbecome better. So and I gotta say
though this is probably my least likedepisode only for the fact in the matter
is, uh, Mojo came outof nowhere. There was no like introduction

(36:57):
into him. It was just like, hey, Mojo in this episode.
So it was just weird. Therewas no like, okay, we we
need Mojo to move the story along, no like storm Storre uh movie.
Uh story was moving along because ofyou know, she's trying to get better.
But then this one was like,oh, Jubilee, you know,
just let's toss in Jubilee, youknow, which is it's a good story

(37:21):
arc. It's got to start somewhere. It just it kind of felt,
you know, from left field. So so uh the next episode, uh,
which is oh Man episode five calledRemember It. So this is when

(37:44):
Genosha is being considered as one ofthe nations that would be accepted and protected
under the U n you know,it's it's being considered and so the uh
I forgot which one is. It'scalled the White Queen and the leaders of

(38:07):
Genosha basically called Magneto, and theytell him like, hey, we'd like
for you to be like the leaderof the of Genosha. And so they
bring him Yambit and Rogue. IfI'm not mistaken, did I miss anybody
else? It's just them three, right, okay? So they bring they

(38:29):
bring them three to Genosha to like, hey, this is how Genosha is
running now, we would like youto be the leader of it, right,
And Magneto basically says okay, underone condition, you know, and
that Rogue is his boo basically, like you know, she has to lead

(38:50):
next to me basically, and wesee them having a you know, a
Rogue having this inner turmoil on hey, I can have a relationship with Magneto
or you know, keep this relationshipwith Gambit where Gambit in her can't have

(39:13):
anything physical, but because of thenature of Magneto's powers, him and Road
can touch. And you know,we find this out and I believe episode
one or two one of those thatGambit knows this, right, Gambit finds
or he knows there he has aninkling feeling about this, and it makes
him very jealous of Magneto because ofcourse. You know, you have this

(39:37):
beautiful woman next to you, youknow, and you can't even have any
physical contact, you know, wherein relationships it's very necessary, right,
So when you can't have that andsomebody else can give that to her,
something that you can't give to her, it makes it hard for him.

(39:58):
Now this ends with you know, everybody knows how this sends. I think
even people that didn't watch it haveheard of it, have you know,
they they they've been told by theirfriends, by their friends friends that you
know. Gambit sacrifices himself to killone of the abomination uh, abominations created

(40:24):
by putting like three sentinel heads togetherand becoming like a Master Sentinel or whatever.
Now this ends with yeah, ofcourse, uh oh it was actually
master it was. They're being calledMaster Mold. So this ends with Rogue
saying I can't feel you. Andman, this this was a heart ranching

(40:49):
episode. I want to start withyou don give it, give us,
give us your your take on thisepisode. Man, you know this this
episode starts it with like hope, right, and you knew it was going
to turn right. There's just kindof this like this good feeling of like
you know, Magneto saying, hey, you're never gonna have to be afraid
again, and you know, tothe Morlocks, and it was just like

(41:16):
you're like, man, this isthis is so good. And then it
just evolves into this chaos and andand these just amazing moments where basically,
you know, Magneto is working toalmost sacrifice himself to protect these Morlocks and

(41:37):
just like leaps and you know he'sjust like holding back this beam of laser
power and you know, you seeRogue flying around being badass, and you
know you have Gambits big sacrifice, right and you know it is just I

(41:59):
was speechless. I actually had togo back and rewatch it, like right
in that moment, just to belike, did I just see what I
thought saw right now? Even thoughI think this might take away from it,
I do think this is going toplay into you know, Gamut becoming
one of the four Horsemen. Yeah, maybe them bringing him back, you

(42:20):
know, as the last episode kindof was like surprise person, spoiler alert.
Sorry I'm a little late, butman, I can't speak good enough
about this right, Like, there'sjust not And the next thing is this

(42:44):
is kind of that episode that wasthat turning point in the whole series,
right, you're just like, Okay, where are we going? Where we're
going? And then you're like,oh, okay, I see where we're
starting to head now. So justone of my favorite episodes. Oh yeah,
yeah, I think I think everybodythat's watched the series this this has

(43:07):
probably the most pivotal episode of theentire series to see where this is headed.
So on top of that, sothat's, Uh, how about yourself,
Dakota, what did you think aboutthis episode? Don really hit it
on the head with talking about howit starts off with hope. You know,
like when you're you're walking into this, you see everyone's just happy,

(43:29):
there's joy, Like, yeah, this place is utopia. We can do
this. We're having a great timethis dancing. Everyone's just they're free.
They don't have this feeling of likeI can't not be myself. Everyone is
just mutants and proud. It's sucha cool thing to see everybody use their
abilities and come together and make societyjust run. And I really liked how

(43:52):
they in the previous episode showed thatthe fears that Madeline Pryor can like prey
on people, how they can youcan manipulate and everything, because that's when
we really see Gambit assuming things withMagneto and Rogue. That's when things really
come to like a pinnacle point. And then transforming that into this episode.

(44:13):
It was just such a such awild thing because you know, she has
her talk with him. With Gambit, she's like, I'm gonna accept,
you know, and then he saysthe lion. He's like, I'm sorry,
but you know, something deeper thanthe skin. He kind of leaves
it with that, and after he'ssitting in the area like supposedly and Queen
of they have this little this dancething going on. Magneto can fly,

(44:38):
she can fly. They you know, they touch, He gives her a
kiss, and Gambit sees that. He's like, I'm out. Like any
any guy who's been with somebody andthey see they're just like, you know,
but we Gambit's one of those dudes. He was honorable man. He's
like, I'm not like where weare, where we are, but this
is what you want, you know. He walked out with honor. He
was when they did talk, butI'm mady and what sorry. What sucks

(45:05):
about that is, you know,is she made her choice and she didn't
even he didn't even get to learnthat she chose him, right. Of
course, you know, she toldGambit that oh no, no, I'm
choosing Magneto, but she didn't getto tell him that she made a mistake,
right, So yeah, that washuge at the moment when she she

(45:29):
repeats exactly what he said, Iwith something deeper than skin. I was
so just like, oh, okay, good, and I'm like, okay,
we're gonna get back to this becauseokay, in the comics and especially
I didn't know as much about Gambutbecause you know, it was just I
even asked you guys earlier on weall started rewatching ninety seven. I was

(45:49):
like, yeah, why does hehave such intense like someone else has like
a normal kind of costume of thislike yellow leoitar whatever. My man's got
armor and all this, Like whatis up with him? And so I
did like a deep dive on him, and turns out, in the comics
especially he's able to touch rope likehis ability is kinetic energy, right,

(46:09):
so he is able to match herin a way where that isn't a problem.
They figure that out down the line. So I was like, okay,
cool. So apparently him and meare both able to you know.
That's but anyways, that moment ofeverything's hitting the fan, and also my
deep dive gambit during his time withthe because he was in the Thieves Guild,

(46:30):
right, we're going back to Louisiana, baby, so we got the
Thieves Guild, the Assassin's Guild, all this stuff going on here. He
was supposed to kill the Moreland Idon't know if you guys know that or
not. I didn't realize this either, but he was supposed to kill them.
That was one of his missions andhe ended up not doing it.

(46:51):
But to fast forward to this episodewhen he sees what's happening, and in
that moment when the Master turned,he said, after he broke out from
that mean because she was going fullforce and he saved her life. At
that exact moment when his head, all the bullocks get lit up. They're
about to get destroyed, and that'swhen he and Rain he comes running over

(47:15):
like that. That was such ajust like this cold baby, like someone
just reiving himself every aspect. Myman just got broken up with He's at
the point like you're at a lowstate. You saved that woman. You're
at a point where you see yourmistakes, you fix those and you're giving
it all you have. And thatmoment I was like, oh, let's
go that cold line man. Andthat's the thing. Man, This showed

(47:37):
those cold lines. He just goeslike the name's gamb and mom remember it?
Yep, Yeah, I mean yeah, people will you know, keep
saying that line for you know, probably the next year or so because this
this episode was it showed who Gambitwas as a character, right, Like,

(48:01):
yeah, he might be second choice, but you know, in his
head, he's the strongest, right, He's he's gonna he's gonna, you
know, go all out because heknows his abilities and he you know,
he might sound dumb at a lotof times, but he's probably you know,
one of this you know, smartercharacters and on his knowing how he

(48:22):
can defeat an enemy. Right. So it's it's cool to see, like
what you guys were saying earlier, the development of these characters, where we
didn't get this a lot from theold show. We just got okay,
these are you know it kind oflike went more into the main characters.
Now we get to see these youknow, quote unquote side characters become main

(48:47):
characters which I love because all ofthem to me are main character. They
should be main character energy, right, so uh, all of them are
pivotal to be what the X Menis. Right. So, something that
happened in this episode that was reallycool is we see Cable comeback, right,

(49:10):
and he approaches Madeline Prior and shenotices right straight from the eyes,
Yo, this is Nathan, youknow, my son, and right went
before he could tell say anything,he yets transported back to the future,

(49:30):
and we come to find out laterthat the attack on Genosha was a nexus
event basically, so NeXT's events cannotbe changed, just like in What If?
Right, and doctor Strange was tryingto change what's her name? His

(49:58):
significant other the one that was wasit? Yeah, I think it's because
I asked you, but yeah,he was trying to save her, right,
and he later finds out it wasa nexus event where he can't change
it. So I like these littlenuances that they're tying into the actual Marvel

(50:21):
Universe, the MCU, because thenyou see, okay, cool, this
could be a universe that is broughtinto the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So we
don't know yet, you know,we don't know how it's going to tie
in because will it can it?Yeah, it can, but we don't

(50:43):
know exactly what kind of story they'regoing to do. So it's exciting to
see what happens in this universe becauseyou see a lot of all a lot
of the other superheroes, right, and you say, oh, wow,
this is the universe with all thesesuperheroes MCU does it. Oh my god,
it's gonna be amazing. So thenext episode is called Life Death Part

(51:07):
two, and this is when wego back to see Xavier out in space
and he's with Lilandra with the Shear, and you also see what's his name,
Ronan? I think I think it'sthis episode, right, Ronan.

(51:28):
He ends up like fighting against theShear the sher win and then basically Xavier
is not yet accepted by all theshe Are because Lilandra is the Queen if
I'm not mistaken, and she wants, of course Xavier to be to rule

(51:49):
next to her. Now he's notaccepted because the sher believe, oh,
he's just a lowly human, rightwhen this guy is such a badass.
So he ends up seeing Gambit's deathwhile taking all of the members of the
she Are in that area into theastral plane and he ends up seeing Gambit's

(52:14):
death and knows, oh, man, I have to get back to Earth.
Right, because he was trying tomake that decision between should I commit
myself completely to Lilandra or are myX men more important? And we see
at the end his X men aremore important to him. And it also

(52:37):
this episode also goes into Storm regainingher powers, so as she regains her
powers, you know, she endsup also learning about what happens in Genosha.
So let's start, we need Dakoda. What did you think about this
episode? It was an interesting thingto see Professor X. Right, we

(53:00):
got Charles is still alive. Everything'sworking towards this new you know, society
that he's been just vibing with thewhole time. Obviously, we knew who
was alive from the end of thelast show leading into the ninety seven,
but it was still exciting to seehim up and walking around using those the
machines without getting up that full sixfoot two. Yeah, it was it

(53:24):
was cool to see that he stillcared about his X men. I think
it's kind of a funny thing ifHomie was up in space, he's getting
this impress everything's vibing, like, dude, forget about it, drop it
all to come back to the world. It hates you. But you know,
two weeks on I think that.I guess. Yeah, I'm happy

(53:45):
the Storm was regaining abilities and everythingelse. It was a good episode.
I like this one. How aboutyourself, don Yeah, it was definitely
cool getting to see uh Storm kindof overcomer fear of claustrophobia. You know,
we know that, we saw thatin the episode where she became the
Queen of the Morlocks in the originalseries. So her overcoming that fear and

(54:08):
getting our powers back was just awesometo see, you know. As far
as like you know, Mark said, you know, his least Supercar episode,
this is probably the one that Iwas just like, Okay, here
we go. Let's get through allthis calls and savior stuff, because you
know, the boring pulling them intothe astoroil plane and being preachy towards them.

(54:30):
You know, now, kids, you know you better behave you know,
all that stuff. I'm just like, let's get back to the exploding
sentinels, right like like that. That's what I'm here for. I'm here
for the explosions. You know,to get me wrong, we saw our
boy Gladiator come in just like youknow, a beast and wreck some people

(54:52):
up. But you know, like, let's get back to Earth. That's
that's what what I'm really worried about. So I feel like the only thing
that's really cool about them going outinto space is knowing that this this universe

(55:13):
is tied in deeply with Earth, right. You know, you see a
lot of these other characters and it'slike, yo, Earth is a contender.
Earth has these people that we shouldbe afraid of, even though you
know they say, oh no,they're just lowly what sapiens or you know,
they're they're not at that level tocontend with us or something like that.

(55:35):
And you know, she r thinkingthey're above them all, whereas they
conquer worlds and just assimilate the conquerworlds into their world. So you know,
that's what Professor Xavier says, islike, hey, your world is
actually made up of multiple different worlds, which is like Earth, right,
you know, it's it's different humanraces or humans you know, coexisting with

(55:58):
each other. So well, it'sit's a really cool episode to just kind
of bring it down. I know, it's like you know, down to
Earth, you know, Oxymoron, but we're going out in space. So
it's it's just a more chill kindof episode where it didn't make you want
like, hey, what's going onon Earth? Why do we need to
see Xavier now? Right? ButI feel like this was to set up

(56:23):
something well, of course it's setup something more right. So this one
actually ends with Trask getting confronted bymister Sinister who warns that Jenosha was just
the beginning. So that's a kindof scary thing to know. So the
next episode, episode seven, iscalled Bright Eyes, and this is when

(56:45):
the X Men hold a funeral forGambit and Rogue goes Rogue right like us.
There's so much similarities to what shedid in this episodiode to like Marvel
versus Capcom. You know, allthe moves that she she did was in

(57:06):
like Marvel rus Capcom. So welearned that Captain America is in this episode
and he's working with uh, ofcourse, the United States to basically guard
Guy Rick. If I'm not mistakenor no, to look for Guy Rick

(57:28):
and Guy Rick is Uh. Let'ssee, I think he was he was
he was with the OZ T.So it's called the Geez what is oz
T? Do you guys remember?Again? So, uh, zero zero
tolerance operations, zero tolerance. Thereyou go, I got it. So

(57:53):
basically he was uh saved or likehoused by the oz T because of his
importance if I'm not mistaken, andlet's see. And then so basically Rogue's

(58:15):
trying to find him. He isfound or yeah, he is found,
but a little like nippicky thing hereor not nipicky, a little side thing
is. We get Thunderbolt Ross toshow up and he actually mentions the Hulk,
which was really cool. And thisone ends by I think it's being

(58:43):
revealed that Bastion is behind things hereand Magneto is alive and he's in Bastioni's
sex cave. So don't know.So I was like, it was just

(59:14):
weird that you know, he washe was, you know, in his
undies across an X and you know. Yeah, So let's start with you,
Dakoda. How did you feel aboutthis episode? Oh? There was
there was so much going on thisone. I was this was really good

(59:37):
episode because I was happy to seeMagneto was still alive. When when that
happened, I was like, Okay, cool, we got a lot more
to unfold here. This is gonnabe epic. I cannot wait to see
what we're going from here. Yeah. I as far as like what Don
said after episode five, being thatmoment of everything is starting to come to

(59:59):
it ahead, you feel the pressurebuild, you feel everything. Rogue just
going off was so awesome, dude. It just to see her just destroy
the base and then like they said, like, oh, this was made
to keep the whole out or keepthe Hulk in. What are you worried
about? And then she just goesthrough it like it was nothing. I
was like, but is she strongerthan the Hulk right now? Like what's
going on? Man? Like shedefinitely had that power strike. Well it

(01:00:23):
was it was meant to keep theHulk in, not you know, let
the whole Yeah yeah, so yeahexactly. So it was awesome. So
yeah, I feel like the powerdynamic. Uh, it just shows that
she is strong to contend. Butyou know, it's it's like, uh.
I also like how her uh dialoguewith Captain America went right. You're

(01:00:50):
just like, you know, CaptainAmerica is trying to be that good soldier
boy, and then she's just like, well, this is not the time
to do that. You know, are you gonna help me or not?
Right, because you know, everyonethe world just saw what happened to Janosha,
so for nobody to step in andhelp and just be like, well,
you guys gotta handle it yourself, right. So it's it's crazy to

(01:01:14):
see some of the most beloved heroesjust act like that. But you know,
it is kind of like that, right, they have to be they
have to be impartial, right, they have to see both sides. They
have to basically be Switzerland, right, just be neutral. But it's kind
of hard when you know we're seeingthe perspective from the X Men, You're

(01:01:37):
like, fuck you, Captain Americashould be helping her, you know exactly.
So my hands are kind of tied. I'm like, talk about yourself
done. How did you like thisepisode? Man? This episode was okay.
It made me question, right,if she's so strong to knock through

(01:02:01):
the mountains and fly like crazy, has a motorcycle knocker out of the air
and in episode five, right,it's like charged It was he charged you
before he dropped at her, didhe? Yeah? Because it would have
blown up it didn't It just kindof knocked her out of the way.

(01:02:23):
Ye it was awesome seeing Roade gocrazy like this, you know, just
kind of busting through everything. Iloved when she's like, uh, when
she grabbed Captain America's shield and justwas like and yeated it. Yeah,

(01:02:44):
all you see is the star.It was a lot of fun. And
this was like that moment, rightwindows, human sentinels all just so crazy,
which was just awesome to see.If I'm I won't Yeah, it's

(01:03:04):
it's thinking, it's part of thebackground. So does he actually charge up
the bike? Okay, Well that'sgood to know, so, you know,
Okay, but he's like, ifI can't have you, nobody can.

(01:03:31):
Yeah. So I think, uh, having all this stuff introduced,
you know, seeing who who's behindGenosha and trying to figure out, oh
man, what is their plan?Right? Because who who gains out of
destroying a a country? I thinkGenosha was gonna be a country that was

(01:03:58):
going to be a part of theU N Right, who gains from that?
And you know we we find outit's Bastion. So the last three
episodes, I'm gonna just kind ofmeld them into one because they are all
called tolerance is extinction. So weget a lot out of out of these
three episodes. Right, we weget Cable, we get he's he's in

(01:04:24):
this area, and then we getProfessor x Right, you know, he's
back, he's he's he's leading again. Cyclops ask him, all why why
didn't you choose me? Right, and it was the answer. We all
knew where you know you were.He was one of the first students,
and Xavier's just like, I wantedyou to live your life. I didn't

(01:04:45):
want you to be stuck here anddo what I did basically, you know,
b be just it had to bejust about the X Men, right,
So then we all so see Sinister, you know, we see Sinator
fight Gene, right, we seeGene pull off the Phoenix Force, which

(01:05:11):
you know, this is this isthe probably the worst part of the show,
is the Phoenix Force coming to saveGene in this dire moment where it's
just like, where did it comefrom? I thought, you know it
was back with the she r welland then you know, and then it's
just like, oh no, lookat that, it's gone. You know,

(01:05:32):
it saved me, and then it'sgone and he's gone, and then
you see Magneto taking the Adamantium outof Wolverine. You know. Uh so
let me go to you guys.Done, let's start with you. Out
of these three episodes, what wasyour you know, what was the part

(01:05:57):
that stood out to you the most? I loved that so many characters decided
to go like different directions, right. There was this that moment, right,
it's like, hey, you know, Magneta walks in and he's just
like, hey, who's going withme? Right? Yeah, you know,

(01:06:18):
come on, who's coming with me? And then those characters just joining
him and being like like Rogue andsun Spot being like you know what,
Yeah, we're going for it.There was the amazing badass moment where he
just like EMPs the whole planet.Right, It's just like, oh,

(01:06:38):
you're just like, holy hell, that's that's uh. Seeing how many characters
have been switched into those sentinel creatures, including Beast's girlfriend. Yeah. I
do think one of my favorite momentsoverall though, was when the whole fight

(01:07:03):
scene with Charles and Magneto is goingon, and then Magneto just goes like
he takes his helmet, he justputs it on Charles's head. He's just
like here you wear this like thepsychic abilities. Was he like squeezing it
do you do? You know?Or he was just using it to stop
his psychic abilities? Yeah, becausebecause Charles started using his psychic abilities on

(01:07:26):
you know, everyone else, He'sjust like, well, if it'll stop
it from me and I'll just puton your head and then watch everyone else.
Right. It was just like andit's not like Charles gonna go yeah,
but it's just an amazing moment.Man. So many things happened in

(01:07:47):
those episodes that were just amazing. But I would have to say, like
the division that that was one ofthe coolest moments, just seeing like,
hey, here we go, butbut they're still stepping up and they're like,
no, we're gonna get this done. How about yourself, Dakota,

(01:08:08):
what what do you? What about? These last three episodes stood out for
you, well, the beginning ofshowing how many people were sentinels or this
hybrid humanoid. Oh my gosh,it was such an awesome speech from Bashian
leading into just showing this army ofwhich arguably are better than the mutants in

(01:08:30):
almost any way. Dude, theykaoed that what was his? Who was
the guy who was a gyric? Was that the one that Ye wrote with
one punch? Yeah, that reallyshowed off how much power one of these
humanoid sentinels hybrid Uh. Seeing thebackstory of Bastian and how Nimrod he was

(01:08:53):
able to bring this about was wild. You know, I don't know anything
about this character. This is thefirst time I've seen anything about him,
heard anything about him. So towatch this character rise up to be this
insane powerhouse was really awesome to watch. To see Asteroid m come back into
play after Magneto literally just that allright, you know what all you guys

(01:09:15):
like like y'all could do this thewhole time, Like you could have done
this years ago. Why did youwait till now you realize how strong he
is? Just he's okay, theentire magnetic field shifted crazyly powerful. I
meant to say, after all thisstuff, I'm team Magneto. Bro Xavier
shut up man when he's when hesaid that line, I wanted to say

(01:09:36):
this a long time, Charles shutup, he boy, Just to second
you on that, Like, Ithink the whole world ends up seeing how
how strong Magneto is, right,Like he shut down the whole infrastructure of
the world and to the point wherethey had a a plan, a magn

(01:10:00):
you know, anti magneto plan, which really didn't work. It was just
like metal missiles onto the one thingthat's covering over Earth is larger than Texas.
Yeah. On top of that,Yeah, they're gonna fire it on
the gravity system so it will come, you know, blazing down to Earth

(01:10:24):
Like yeah, this is this wasthe plan this class. It reminded me
of Iron Giant when that guy wasso adamant about launching Duke at at the
Giant. He's like, so it'slike, let's target it to his location.
He's like, yeah, where's therobot general and he's right there.

(01:10:45):
Just so stupid to be the well, I think the best option is that
we up. It always comes downto that, the wormhole and Avengers,
they're like, let's blow it up, let's get rid of this. So
yeah, comes down to all theepisodes. There were so many things that
happened in a small amount of time. When then you know, Mantium from

(01:11:08):
freaking Logan. That was crazy.Oh shoot, like just watching how powerful
he got, Oh man, itwas. It was awesome to see Magneto
go book and the and everything whenyou get to see inside of Magneto's mind
with you know, talking about withXavier, reliving his his past traumas everything.

(01:11:32):
It was so insane. It wasa lot that went on, not
just epic passion is freaking bad asseeing him just take off as powerful as
he did, that was just amazing. Yeah, the dude is no joke
of Yeah. And on top ofthat, you know, you see you

(01:11:54):
see Cable, you know, startto take a liking to you know,
Gene right. You know, ofcourse Madeline was his mom. His mom
passed away, but of course hishis mom was a clone of Jean,
so he actually starts to call hermom. Right, this is the power
of you know, my mom,so he you know, it's it's crazy

(01:12:17):
how these uh, these relationships startto develop. And you see it in
the ending where Cyclops was like,no, I'm not We're not gonna try
and beat him anymore. We're gonnatry and you know, appeal to him
like, hey, Bastian, youwere a mutant too, Why why are
you hating you know, so it'sjust like, okay, now let's try

(01:12:41):
to appeal to his humanity. Andyou know, of course Cyclops you know,
and Jeens say they're goodbye to Nathan, which was, you know,
really tear jerky, but you knowthey knew that this is something they they
might not come back from. Soit was like, yo, where's this
going? Right, so we seewhere it goes where we don't they're transported

(01:13:06):
through time. We don't know whodid it, but I want to say
like three fourths of them were sentin the past and then a fourth of
them were sent to the future.Right, So you see you see Nightcrawler,
Beast, Xavier Magneto Rogue in ancientEgypt where they meet a young version

(01:13:30):
of Apocalypse, and then you seeCyclops and Gene in the future where they
encounter their son. Oh well youknow Madeline prior son too, Nathan where
you know this is where he endedup. You know, this is where
we sent him and where he endedup. So we don't know who did

(01:13:55):
this. And the end credits showin the present time Apocalypse picking up the
card. Like you mentioned earlier,Don finding the Gambit's playing card the Queen
of Hearts in Genosha. So thisseries has got to be one of the

(01:14:18):
best X Men stories ever told inyou know, in either live action or
animated I feel because it does eachcharacter so much justice. I feel like
no character was left behind in thisone, you know, So overall,

(01:14:44):
I give the series I want tosay, like a eight out of ten.
How about yourself? Yeah, Imean, I think they really did
a great job of just creating thiswhole of importance, right, So they

(01:15:09):
took those little bits that were you'rejust like, Okay, I know a
little bit about the X Men,I love a little bit about this and
that, but they really kind ofstepped it up and took it to a
great place. They just in aworld where we've had so many marvel things
that have disappointed us in the recentpast, like this thing really just like

(01:15:29):
oh man, like it almost restoresfaith, which makes me a little scared
about the future because they're like, man, we did such a great job
with this, let's just like throwmore stuff into it, and you're gonna
be like, no, you're gonnaruin it, hopefully not, you know,
I'm gonna I'm gonna be optimistic, you know, cautiously optimistic, but

(01:15:54):
like this, it actually exceeded myexpectations of what this series was ever gonna
Oh definitely. Yeahd One just kindof knocked out of the park and since
then, Like, I really lovedwhat they did with this. I for
the nostalgia because I spent so muchtime watching the first original series. I'm

(01:16:15):
gonna go with a nine out often. Oh, you know, there's
a little things they could have Theyprobably could have improved, small things here
and there, you know, butfor what it was, it was just
wow. I can't describe it betterthan just that sound. So how about
yourself? To code, how doyou how do you feel about the series
overall? I think I'm in thesame line right here with Don Man,

(01:16:41):
like nine out of ten easily. There's so many things they did right.
The things that they did wrong,in my opinion, was like you mentioned
with the Phoenix Force, that wasjust some unexplained where the hell did that
come from? Like, hey,it's got all right. I think it
was a really good take on it. I didn't have my expectations too high
walking into it. I was excited, but I didn't expect it to be

(01:17:03):
great, just because that's been marvellately and I wasn't. I was not.
I was very happy that that wasnot the case. I stepped into
this the first episode, I waslike, yo, if this is at
all going to be a taste ofwhat we're looking forward to this season.
I am so pumped and yeah, every episode built so well on each other,

(01:17:25):
and it was it was exactly whatI was looking for. I mean,
the nostalgia is definitely there. Thecharacter development, just seeing every character
have its moment to shine and justbe the badass that you want to see.
Oh my gosh. I the thing, the reason why it's not a
ten out of ten for me isthey had to take my boy gambit away.

(01:17:48):
Just hurt so now for now.And the thing is I was five
episodes behind. I did a bingeon a weekend and Don came into work.
You see, you see the lastepisode I'm about to He was like,
bro, got to watch talk aboutthis nonsense, all right? Right?

(01:18:08):
And then now, oh man, like that was just such a wild
thing just to watch. So yeah, very excited for what we have coming
up. I hope that they don'tscrew it up. I read today that
they already got the green light forthe third season. Yeah, so in
house, after they were about halfwaythrough just their production of the first season,

(01:18:29):
they said, Yo, the secondseason is for sure green light.
I can't go and after this onegot the ratings, they're like, yeah,
we're doing three seasons, no problem. So yeah, if the writers
continue to be good, they gotthe curriculums all ready to pull from the
stories. If they do bring gamingback to be a horseman, like literally,
like what you said, Oh,I'm all for it, bro,
he's gonna be insane. Yeah, yeah, that's amazing. And that's the

(01:18:51):
thing. Unfortunately, Bo Demayo, one of the writers for the show,
one of the main writers for theshow, was let go. He did
write the first two seasons. Sohopefully, you know, they could carry
on his torch. I don't knowif they ever released why he was let

(01:19:11):
go, but hopefully they could carryon his torch on and you know,
his second season continues to be asgood as the first season that he you
know, he wrote. So youknow that here's open, right, because
on top of that, you know, we see a bunch of heroes in
the last three episodes, right,we see Spider Man, we see Iron

(01:19:32):
Man, we see Black Panther. You know, we see that, the
Avengers, we see you know, they didn't show any inhumans. They didn't
show any Atlanteans, if I'm notmistaken. So you know, we're not
seeing the entire thing. We justsee some of the Avengers kind of like
sprinkled in like so, so it'sreally cool that we're seeing some of this

(01:19:58):
happen now, even if it's justanimated, because we know that there there
is a universe out there that hasthe comics as they should be. So
that's amazing. Before we actually endthis discussion or you know, we're actually
gonna hop into uh, just realquick, I don't want to take too

(01:20:25):
long on this because even though it'san amazing, part of it is Marvel
Snap. So yeah, so youknow, I don't want to go too
much of it because we had areally good discussion, but uh, we're
gonna actually do what this channel wasmade for. Just talk about real quick.

(01:20:47):
The card of the week. Sothe card of the week was a
Sasquatch and it was it is asix cost ten power card and I'll go
ahead and read to hear it costsone less for each card you played last
turn. So uh, really quick, Uh, how have you fared with

(01:21:10):
this card, Dakota. I've reallyenjoyed this card. Uh. I played
a couple of different versions trying tosee like which I liked. I actually
threw this one in with my Ultrondeck just because I want to get more
boosters for Ultron and I wanted toplay this card, so I took out
the Wasp that I had on there, and man, this card actually runs

(01:21:31):
really good because you're thrown out Mystique. You're thrown out, I'm not mistique
what I'm saying, Mysterio when youget that discount. Man, you know
he's already at three costs by thetime you play your Mysterio. And then
now Mockingbirds dropped down. He's orshe has so much synergy in different discounts.
And I'm having a great time withthis. I actually one of our

(01:21:54):
shout out to uh, one ofour followers, Uh, Stully's so savage.
He's done a deck that is reallyfun to play. I've been messing
with this before we actually started thepodcast. It's got death. It's kind
of like a mixture of death, just Troy and Sasquatch build trying to just
get cards out there. You canget rid of them, wipe the board,
cheat out a couple of different cards. Super fun. I'll go ahead

(01:22:16):
and put that on our story ifeveryone wants to check it. Out too,
but shout out to Sully. Butyeah, I love this card.
I have to say this was theone that I was I liked the most
aside from Blink in the season easilyawesome. How about yourself done? I
think Takota said it. I lovethis card, right. It feels really

(01:22:38):
good to play. You know,it's one of those cards that it's just
the opposite of a she Hulk, right. Instead of not playing energy,
you're playing energy. You're playing cardsto get that discount. Honestly, I've
been playing the deck that yeah youcame up with mark that whole you know,
pitty, and it's been working reallywell for me. You know,

(01:23:01):
I'm not quite to infinite like youguys, because you know, I'm a
slacker in life, but you know, I'm almost there and this this card
has really been helping me out toget there. Yeah. So I feel
like this card was an amazing additionto the game. It gets the people

(01:23:25):
that like to play many little cards, it rewards them right where before it
was like, okay, let's justplay freaking red Hulk, right, but
now you could go, you know, you play all these little cards and
then either bounce them back or don'tbounce them back. But next turn you
get this either free ten power cardor you get like a really really discounted

(01:23:53):
you know, at worst it's afive to ten and you know, I
don't even know if there is afive ten card. So I feel like
it's a good addition to the game, and I feel like, uh,
I feel better about how the gamestate has been going because I feel like

(01:24:13):
the last week the game state hasbeen so bad and it's it was,
it's gotten boring and everyone is playingthe same thing, and you know,
the variety has been very bad.You know, I don't know, there's
no there's no other way to saythis. It's just been bad. So
with this card added, you know, a lot of different decks are being

(01:24:35):
made, a bounced decks, lockdowndecks, you know. So it's really
cool to see different ways to beusing him. So next week we will
be discussing the new uh the entiretyof the new season, So go ahead
and uh look out for that nextweek because we all will be sent to

(01:25:00):
the uninfinite Arena again. So wegot that to look forward to. So
any last shout outs that you guyswant to do anything, you guys want
to plug before we end tonight show. Just the normal stuff for me,
you know, thanks for watching, thanks for hanging out. It's always great
