Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys, and welcome to another episode of Cube the
Marvel Snap Podcast. Welcome to episode twenty six. As you
can see, Dark Helmet aka Don has joined us. Back Yeah, buddy,

(00:20):
as always to everybody's left is back CHOI aka Dakota,
and I am Markley. I will be your host tonight.
So we're gonna go through this fast, fast, fast fast.
Half an hour maybe minimum four our maximum. We had

(00:46):
a patch over the last week, and uh, it was
only three cards, so we don't have to talk about
it all that much, but let's start with that. I
just wanted to start with the patch. So the first
card of the patch that was updated was black Swan.
So black Swan used to be a three to three

(01:06):
and it used to be an on reveal card that
let you apply that let until the end of the
next turn. All your one costs were zero. Now they
change it to one of the newest game mechanics released
in the game, which is an activate card, and they
also change it to a two costs, which I didn't

(01:26):
realize until right now. So this is kind of amazing.
You play this down on two and then you're able
to activate it whenever you'd like to have the effect
to have the effect take effect. So let's start with you, Dkodo,
how do you feel about the change of this card.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
You know, I really haven't played too much with her
after the change, but again, being able to have this
ability on your terms is a game changer. I think
that I've been having too much fun currently with the
other ones that had to activate, So I would like
to start, you know, on these last week of the season.
I think I'll be a couple of Zoo decks and
try to mess around with it. But I like the

(02:07):
effect obviously. It has a lot of potential to just
really kick some ass unexpectedly.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I mean, if your opponent.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Has no idea what's coming out in that last turn,
you can activate this, it'd be pretty insane. It's like
the old school Zoo style that we used to play
to climb, So I like it.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I'm all for it.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
So, as suddenly mentioned in the chat, like, it's it's
going to be a card that's going to be also
used with a hit Monkey decks, so it's it's it's
a crazy I have been seeing those quite often. They've
been performing really well. You don't see kill Monger as much,
and even if you have Killmonger. You have to make
sure you play around the what's the one that guards

(02:45):
them Aira Caiira, So thank you for that. How about
yourself done? How do you feel about the change of this.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Card like this change, I think that this uh activate
to just actually get the card out on like turn
two and now you have a chance to use hit Monkey.
The nice thing is you can almost play this card Onto,

(03:12):
play hit Monkey a little early. You can jump that
card back in and maybe still have a chance to
play one more time, so you can get some really
good play out of it. I think it makes the
card ten times better than it was versus the Onto
reveal that it was before.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
So I'm really excited to see this. I played with
a little.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Bit, but I'm excited to kind of go back to
the good old Zoo deck and Zoo deck hit Monkey
that got me hipped in it in those early snap days.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah. So they also play it with a beast and
what is it, falcon, So you have that bounce effect
that way, Like Don said, you play hit Monkey early,
you bounce it back to your hand and then basically
boom boom boom. Zero's like you can hold up to
seven cards in your hand, so at most hit Monkey

(04:01):
can gain another twelve power, which is kind of insane
to think about. So that it's cool that they actually
look back on what cards deserve the activate type, because
there are a lot of on reveals that you're like,
if I could just save this for later, because if
I play it this turn, it doesn't really combo. Well,

(04:25):
so they kind of I'm glad that they looked into
cards like this and decks like you know, Zoo, which
guided a lot of people through the very early stages
of the game. So you know, it's it's kind of
nostalgic for Zoo to be where it is right now.

(04:45):
It's just kind of like it evolved Zoo. So yep,
black Swan, I think it's a They made a very
good change on that, and I'm hoping to see more
with that card now. The next one that we had
an update to, which is kind of the bane of
everybody's existence right now. All right, So it's hell Cow.

(05:09):
Hell Cow used to be a four to eight and
it used to be an on reveal and before it
would discard two random cards in your hand, you know,
right when you played it. Now they gave it too
less power and change it to an activate, so it
still does discards two cards in your hand randomly, but

(05:31):
now you have control of when to activate the effect.
The good thing about activate is that you can choose
to do after you play a card, before you play
a card. It's it's really cool that you can do that,
right because move used to be like that where if
you change the order of operations, things can happen, you know,

(05:55):
But now they kind of change it where move takes
priority and then everything else gets played in the order
of operations. But Activate is that new new effect where
you know, you get to choose, which is really cool.
So let's start with you, don how do you feel
about the change of this card.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
I mean, we saw what was the last time you
played hell Cow before this? Like never, almost never other
than when I first got them. You know, it was
really just one of those cards, like even when they
cut to four to eight and you're like, but if
the two costs or Graham two without getting thing else,

(06:36):
and then they bought in Cold City and you're like,
er sous corbus Clave and they're like, well it gets
rid of too too, we get extra energy. Like it
really just felt like a useless card. I like it
now it has a little bit of decent power. Uh
you know, four six isn't great, but you know, at
the same time as the activate just worked so well,

(06:57):
especially with that stupid new Helladict.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yeah. Yeah, So with it being an activate card, now
like this has been running rampant because people are just
plugging in Luke Cage and basically Turn six they're just wiping.
You know, they don't have priority, so you can't shun
chi anything, right, so you basically have to either play

(07:25):
Cosmo Eliath a really good lane, you know, or what
is it, Red Guardian the hell Cow so he can't
do anything. So there's like ways to do it, but
you have to make have a deck specifically to do
something about it, which is kind of insane. So how
about yourself, Dakota, what do you think about the change

(07:45):
to the hell Cow?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Oh well, you see now you mentioned the annoying Hella deck.
I've been using this non stop, baby, It's been so
much fun dropping his down and you can't stop me.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
I love this dead gum card. Man.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Oh my gosh, I haven't played this in forever. I
can't really remember last time I put hellcou in purposely
and it's kind of cool to have this be a thing.
It's a little too cracked. I'm sure they're gonna change
us up. It's gonna do something. Maybe it won't be
too I don't know. I'm curious to see how they
go about navigating this, because, yeah, you get the ability

(08:17):
to for sure guarantee hell is gonna go down safely,
and then you can discard too and bring it back.
That's it's unstoppable unless you're doing like you said with
Red Guardian. There's a few things you have to do.
But I have to say I have the venomized hell
Cow variant. I'm a very big fan. I finally get
to throw that thing out and just enjoy it. And yeah,
I mean, I'm all for this card.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
I mean I think everybody at the moment that's using
it is all for it because it's amazing.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
It's the best.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
It's it's a really good addition to uh these Hella
type decks.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
It is annoying because there's not a lot of play
around for it, right, Like, if you get the nut draw,
you're basically winning the game, right, It's not there's no counterplay.
The counterplay is hope your opponent doesn't draw Hella, you know,
or at times where I'm just like, okay, they didn't

(09:15):
draw Hella, but they freaking like what is it iron
ladded into it or jubileed into it, and I'm just like, well,
you know, one out of three fuck me.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
So in the future, we're gonna be sitting and they're
just gonna be a anti activate card that's popping up.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Yes, yeah, I mean you have Rogue for the ongoing,
you have super Scroll for ongoing, you have Cosmo for
on reveal. You you know, Uh, I don't know, is
there any other type good guardigan for all cards? There
you go Echo for ongoing. Actually, there's more things to

(10:02):
stop ongoing than there is to stop on reveal. I mean,
you have what's his name, Leech for turn like uh sixes,
but that's about it. So you could probably play Leech
to stop Hella, but you gotta just hope that they
haven't in their hand.

Speaker 6 (10:19):
So.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Uh. The last card that was updated, which was another
update to discard decks, was sword Master. Sword Master. I
think the only thing that changed for him was his effect,
So his effect reads it's still an on reveal and
it's just now discard an odd costed card from your hand.

(10:44):
Before it was just a random card, so it had
that hellcal kind of treatment. Now this is targeting, so
you're able to use it, you know when you feel
his best. If you could go without the odd cost
card in your hand, you're like, well, okay, I could
do without that, or if you want to discard that card,

(11:05):
now you have that option. So I feel like this card,
uh may not be the best, but they gave it
a purpose now. Before it was a random card just
like okay, well it has good power. Let's just hope
it hits something good. Now it has a serves a
purpose if you want to discard something specific or if

(11:25):
you all have all even cards in your hand, you
get no downside to this. So how do you feel
about the change of this card, Dakota.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yeah, I'm happy with it.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I think that after Americashave has got changed around to
be what she is now, we lost a lot of
just dependability with discard and we're starting to see that
come back around and having this ability, like you just said,
there are no downsides if you don't want to discard
that exact you know costs in your hand, and thankfully
you don't have it great.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Now I got seven plus power.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Somewhere, and if someone you know, you play this in
some location that drops it on their side even better.
So yeah, I think this is a good move. It's
getting a lot more playable in the way that there's
not as much of a risk. You have a lot
more reward now with discard, and I'm liking this change.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
All right, how about yourself done?

Speaker 5 (12:16):
I really like that they've kind of gone this route
of targeted discard, you know, speaking of risk, like what
card and the Helo deck?

Speaker 6 (12:26):
Would this card discard? Right? You know, I'm sorry, not
Helo deck, just a discard deck.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Right.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
Most of the cards are even, so maybe Swarm wane, right,
the Swarm is even, it's always even, it's not even.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
It starts as a two and then it goes down
to zero once you discard.

Speaker 6 (12:50):
That's still considered even numbers.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Yeah, so it has no downside to.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
It really, Like for most builds with Scoremaster or most
builds for discard, it's not really going to do a
whole lot. I mean, I can't think of one discard.
The only place I see that this working. In addition

(13:15):
is if you play like back in right, you throw
backing out this card you know is going to hit
the shard just because it's going to be a discard
of one. Other than that, I can't think of any
cards with discard that you could discard.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, I mean, there's no cards that you that are
odd costed that you actually want to discard, except maybe
X twenty three. But even then you're not playing x
twenty three in those decks, so.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
You can only get the one power that one time,
and that you know you can't do anything about it again.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah, reallys no purpose in a discard deck.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
So but it is nice, right because now it's not
just that random card because you know, every time you
played this, you're like, oh, man, three seven power, you
play it, and all of a sudden it's just like,
oh the one card I wanted not to discard is gone. Yeah,
but it was always modoc. It always hit Modoc. I
mean it will now too, but.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah you don't.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
And that's the thing that was just like it was
always hitting it anyway, So whatever.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Now you know it's gonna hit it. But yeah, so
like I have that one like yet, Yeah, you said
in the chat gambit you don't want to discard Gambit,
I mean Gambit, you want Gambit to discard something. Gambit
is a card that's still the randomness about it. So
that's probably one of the cards that they might look

(14:45):
at me. I don't know. Maybe because Gambit is a gambler,
they want that kind of randomness on it. So I
feel like that one would stay.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
If you have this card and you have Gambit in
your hand, what card are you gonna play? You're gonna
play gam every time? Right, Like the trust of the
matter is is it doesn't actually replace Gambit, Like I
play Gambit over this card almost every time.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
Oh heck, maybe your last turn you could play I
don't know, yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
So I mean at least last turn you could do
like a Gambit what is it Gambit sword Master because
that's turned six. But other than that, you know, like
uh Sully said, he's just say, you know, good three
to seven card, little to no downside. So yeah, I

(15:35):
still don't see it played in a discard deck, just
because you don't really need a seven power card, you know,
especially if you have something like uh Morbius which gains power,
you know, stuff like that, or if you have what's
that card, you discard it and then it just appears

(15:55):
to the midnight So I mean, and there's a lot
of cards that kind of benefit discarding even cards instead
of odd cards. So I don't know, it's it's an option,
which I like that they are giving us options.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Now.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
It's not just Okay, this is the way to play discard.
Now you have options if you want to do something risky,
if you uh, maybe somebody sees this card and like, oh,
you know what, I could create something. You know, I
could cook with this card. You know, so at least
they're giving us options to cook with. So, uh, the

(16:33):
next thing we're going to talk about because that was
the Ota guys, or that was a patch. Uh, they
only updated three cards. They also release as we were talking,
not off the air, but you know, not on the podcast.
We were talking about. You know, they did release a
new season, which will be I think it's going to
be after the Venom season. So it's gonna be a

(16:54):
thor season if I'm not mistaken. But yeah, yeah, we'll
talk about that or when it does release officially. But
the next thing we'll talk about what it will be. Uh,
the card coming out tomorrow. So the card coming out
tomorrow is Ben Ben Riley.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
I wouldn't it.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
But apparently things when two certain places.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Mine wonders do.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
So, uh, let me go ahead and read what this
card does. So Scarlett Spider is a four costed five
power activate card, and he adds an exact clone of
this card to a random location to another location. Sorry,
it won't be in the same location. So let me

(17:55):
go ahead and start with you, don how do you
feel about this card?

Speaker 5 (18:01):
It should be an interesting look. You know, it's always
nice to get extra cards out there. I could see this,
uh working in conjunction with your mocking bird.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
Right, you're gonna have a card that they're starting their
hand that's gonna be out there.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
If you can play this with a buffed you know
ability even like what uh you know, you could get
you know, to seven costs too. You play with even Jerry, right,

(18:37):
you know, all of a sudden you have two ten
costs out there. Not too bad, you know. You there's
some interesting things I think that will be fun to
kind of mess around with with this, and you know,
more activate cards that can't be stopped. It's awesome.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, how about yourself, Dakota?

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Oh yeah, man, I'm excited for this one because I
think that the Bone the Bone Crush your deck, bro okay,
abu out turn three?

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Now you got out you're you're surey or what is it?

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Turn three?

Speaker 3 (19:06):
He's he's two right now right or three?

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Two?

Speaker 3 (19:10):
He's a two?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Okay, sob out two? Okay, now you got sury, then
you throw him out. Copy that Scar is down already
to two costs. That's just like that, Okay, think about
what else you can do in that nonsense.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
I like it. I like this a lot.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Sorry, typically, uh, you can't. You'd have to play scar
on turn six still because if you yeah, because if you, uh,
you can't copy activate the card once you just play it,
so you'd have to activate it on turn five.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah, so once it does over, and then now your
SCAR is down to a two, So then you have
your other play lines on which way you'd like to
go with, and then you cross bones and cold. I
think that might be a fun, fun style. I always
go back to the Bone Crusher because I love the
idea of it, but it probably we will suck, just
like the idea I have with Ranya into the Galactus
play and all that nonsense.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
So you know, take that with a grain of salt.
But I'm just thinking, like, you know, that could that
could be pretty fun.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
I don't know. So when we talked about that galactus
h what is it like? Galactus move, Nina actually did it.
I don't know if you saw her short, she actually
did that combo with Shuri into Galactis, Aranya moves it
over and then she activates what's his Thezimbio spider Man,

(20:36):
and it worked, but it took a long time to
get that specific combo. That's the only thing, right, If
combos worked with multiple cards, then it works great. If
you have multiple types of combos that can work, it
works great. But if you have a specific combo and
you need a certain amount of cards, you know, you
better be like Ugi because you got to have the

(20:57):
harder cards to be able to pull that stuff off
like constantly. But for myself, I feel like this card,
I don't know. It's I Sulely mentioned handbuff cards are
going to be really good. The only thing I worry
about is if hand buff cards are a thing, you

(21:17):
still have to play this card first, leave it for
a turn, and then activate this card.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
Right.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
What would be cool if there was an activate card
to activate and activate card, because as soon as you
activate that card, you know it's like a one cost
card zero zero power or something like that. You play
it down and then you can activate. You can activate
a card on the same turn you lay it down.
That would be pretty cool, but that's an no reveal.

(21:51):
Sorry I am I'm going on a tangent here. But
the only thing is is when you place Scarlet Spider,
it has to weigh to turn for you to activate it.
So it has a chance to either be shann Chet
for it to be uh, what is it shadow King.
There's multiple things on ways to take care of cards

(22:13):
that are higher power, right, so it's just tough. Like
if people don't run that great, you're you're gonna get
a double of Scarlet Spider and it's gonna be buffed
and you know somewhere on the on the field and
you can win two lanes that way. So it's just uh.
And another thing like to think about is a Simil

(22:33):
Spider Man, right, like if you add this with simult
Spider Man, Like, I don't know where my thought went,
but it's gonna be aim more power. It's just it's
it's not gonna be Oh, they're two They're sorry, both
of them are forecasts. That's that's where I was going.
I was like, where was I going with this?

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Both of them are blueberries? Where are we?

Speaker 6 (23:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:03):
So if both of them are forecosts, you have to decide. Okay,
am I gonna play?

Speaker 4 (23:08):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (23:08):
You know what is getting prioritized? Well, you want to
prioritize the sibild spider man, right, But what happens if
you draw that late? You kind of can't really do
anything anymore, or you have to do everything turn six,
which is kind of a cluster fuck if you think
about it. Right, So that's gonna be tough, and you

(23:31):
know the opponent. You gotta think about that stuff. So
I think it's gonna be an interesting card.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
I don't know how much I'm willing to think about
it to make a deck revolving around it, But it
seems like this effect is very you know, deck revolving
worthy in a sense. So we'll see how people cook

(23:59):
within the next twenty four hours. And I'm excited to
see other people, you know, play with it, because me,
I don't cook too well, so I am not a
top chef.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
So all right, the damn lamb souls.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Okay, So all right, the last thing that we want
to talk about before we get into the giveaway. Thank
you guys for waiting, but uh, just the last thing
really quick is I want to ask how you guys
did with the most recent card. So the most recent card. Oh,

(24:37):
I don't know why, it's yeah, it was aaranya and
I just want to ask, how did you guys fare
with this new card. Let me start with you.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
Don Wow. I made a couple of debts and so
far I have not won a punch. I know it's
a good card. I know it's fun. Yeah, but I'm
just bad at the game sometimes, you know.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
And that's that's why I figure, is I just screwed up,
and uh yeah, that's all.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
I got to be fair. I don't think it's you
that's screwing up. I think it's this meta that's gonna
be uh that that's weird, just because when we have
discard kind of like taking over move kind of gets
pushed to the wayside. So I don't think it's you.

(25:32):
I just think it's a it's the meta at the moment.
But how about you, Dakota. Let's have you finish off
before we do our raffle.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
You know, I think that the deck that I had
the most successful with her with was in fact the
Phoenix fours deck, the kind of thing we were talking
about last week. But she's still not as dependable as
goes Spider in most cases, so you know, only being
able to go right. I noticed that most of the plays,
and I'm like, ooh, I could play her. It was
kind of like, I don't need to. I probably shouldn't.

(26:05):
It's gonna screw this whole thing up, so we're not
gonna go with this. So I mean, I think that
as the meta shifts a little bit, I'm like what
you said, I think this card might have a little
bit more relevance, but for what it does, you know,
it definitely moves cards right well, and that's all it
really has got going forward.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
At the moment.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Okay, all right, well, yeah, I think this card was
really cool because Move typically moves left, so I guess
they have this option to move right now. I did
have some success with it in Conquest, but I don't
know how it's gonna faire on the ladder because, like
I said, anything that gains power is basically fodder for

(26:48):
shang Chi or Shadow King, and those are the number
two things that you kind of want to be aware
of with things that gain power, and that's probably one
of my favorite top two combos. You know, shadow King,
what is it? Shadow King shaang Qian turned six? It
could win games. So with that said, do you guys

(27:12):
have anything else you guys would like to add before
we get into the good stuff.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
I'll let's do it.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
All right, Okay, So if you guys didn't know we did,
we did reach about five hundred followers about a week
ago on our Instagram and just to give back, we

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life.
