saw my mom. So call it a dream, but I
guess I kind of sweet. Though I had some I've

had some heaviness just on different stuff like that, and
that that popped up was a she was just assuring.

Remember the eighties when that was like a big deal,

skin damage I have is from like five years in
the eighties doing that stuff. Nowadays it's you don't see
people that tan very much unless they're like old, old,
leathery people that don't care.

I think it's the uh, the sun, scot sunscreen, sun block,
all the chemicals in that. Do you ever really think

sometimes it lends to really cool conversations. But this trip, guys,
I don't know. A couple of days, I was just
sitting there next to the pool, I'm reading John Lynch's
book with Andrew Farley, also reading Patrick Young's book Who's

going to be coming to visit with us here in
a few weeks And the power of a witness and
the power of our story rang true from me on
this trip, as there was a couple from Toronto that
had just vivid discussions on our ministry, the importance of

knowing Jesus. I would say they were agnostic, probably this
kind of floating, sweet sweetheart people, but never really thought
about it.

every day and just had great conversations with him.

With them in the pool with the UH Entertainment director

a sudden, I'm sitting there and this man says, excuse me, sir,

I said, yeah.

He goes, what what what's that all about? And I said,
my name is Trey. And we started this little men's ministry.
It's called Men Passionate about Christ. And we we helped
men over come, help them understand the grace of God
how it affects them. And I went, I went through

the spiel per se, and he pulled up a chair
and just sat down and stared at me and explained
his Jewish roots. Harvard professor.

And what did he say?

He's like in the arts, like.

Really gets into like art history, like arts and music
like that.

He's a violinist.

You can tell he's smart, smart, and you can tell
he's off the charts with his ivy league. Way really
sweet man. Then I gave him a suicide story and
the open heart story and we just started going. I said,
I said, you know, if you ever follow us, my

goal is that you're you, as a Jew, are going
to hear about Jesus in a way that you probably
never heard about him, and the hope that's there now.
He was with his fiance, who was Catholic, and I'm
going on, how's that gonna work? You know when when
y'all get you know, when y'all get married. But so

I gave him a bracelet. He was touched.

We talked several more times.

I gave him the gospel and gave him my story.

But then I went to the.

Spa and I walked into the spa for hydro therapy
with a guy.

She got spicy and nails done.

No, no nails. It was a hydro therapy, dude. It
was all water related therapies and it was great. And
he was a young guy man and he we started
walking back. He was with his wife and then they
we had to part ways to go to the men's
locker room. She went to the women's locker room right
and when we were in there, the guy was, Okay,
here's your locker, here's your code, here's your slippers, here's

a towel, here's a rope. These are the things we're
gonna do first, and he just kind of looks at
me and goes, I gotta admit him a little bit drunk,
and went, dude, you're gonna love it.

So we go to the hot.

Room for ten minutes, and then we walk out to
a cold challenge so.

And then we went to the steam room, which it
was unbelievable.

And then we went to the cold plunch, and this
guy was keyed up about getting in a cold plunch.
I bet he's twenty five, twenty eight years old. And
I said, come on, dude, we're doing it. So we
walked down to that cold plunge. We got up to
here and then you know, it's one of those pools
you walk into and then we just when he went
all the way in submerged. His head came up. He goes, man,

I would never have done this if it wasn't for you. Yep,
And I said right, and he and say, I just
baptized you. Yeah, and I and I said, I said, buddy,
He goes, well, you're in the ministry. What tell me
about that, I told him, and I said, where are
you from? He goes, I'm from India. I said, okay,
(11:17):
what do you think about this India Pakistan stuff going
on right now? He goes, well, we've been fighting each
other for years. I said, y'all are two nuclear powers
that are firing missiles at each other already.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
That hasn't happened. We don't.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
We haven't fired missiles against Russia, right, we haven't fired
missiles against China. So I feel like we really got
to watch what's going on over there. And I said,
so you're from you're from India. I said, what are you?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Goes, I'm a muss I'm definitely a Muslim. Said okay, well, how.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Does that work in India because Hindus and the Hindus
will kill Christians and they'll they'll they fight against the
Muslims and then the Pakistan you know, they they're fighting
back and forth. And he just said, you know, I
believe Jesus walked the earth and he's he was a prophet.
And I said, not only that, but God walked the

earth as a man two thousand years ago, so you
would never have to pay. And it was totally out
of love and Jesus rose from the dead. Muhammad didn't
do that, the Mormons didn't do that, Buddha didn't do that.
All the Hindu gods didn't do that. Don't you want hope?
(12:37):
And he goes, well, I think I have a little
hope because my wife's Christian. I went, dude, you're halfway there. Man,
you're halfway there. But we had He was locked in
and loaded in and chatting about Jesus there, full blown Muslim.
His parents immigrated from India and Muslim Indians, and he
lived in Chicago and working up there. So I gave

him a spand and he actually sent an email saying
it was great seeing you. I want to follow along, yes,
but you were you just don't you go all the
ends of the earth. Your witness is with you. And
it just hit me hard as I walked away from
a Jew and a Muslim.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
I just they are so hard with the actual gospel
of Jesus Christ and the resurrection. They are so tough
to convince. And I said this to you earlier that
you know Isaiah fifty three. Actually it starts in Isaiah
fifty two to sixteen and goes on all through Isaiah
fifty three that explicitly talks about Jesus and it's their prophet.

And I've seen some reels where they're talking to Jews
on the street about, hey, what is this New Testament
Old Testament? Only they're all going, oh, that's New Testament,
that's about Jesus. And he's like, no, this is in
the Old Testament. This is talking about Jesus. And so
they are very hard. Was he It sounds like he
was open to it.

Tre he was open because when I told him my
suicidal experience, all of a sudden I saw him start
breaking down. And I quoted James five. I said, he goes,
is that a verse? I said, yeah, it's confess your
sins to one another. So through that in prayer, genuine,
genuine brotherhood, you can begin to heal. And I gave

him some stories about men that had come clean, you know,
with us, over the years, and he was mesmerized.

And he was hurting and you don't know why.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
And he had some depression bouts in some some big struggles,
went through a nasty divorce, you know, all of those things.
Feeling like a failure. Now this guy was probably my age.
He's probably late fifties or sixties, and and you can
see that his new fiance that was with us, she

was just wanting him to listen and stay there. And
she's at the questions and everything else, and it just
just I don't know, guys. I keep thinking about Peter's
word is always be prepared to give a reason for
your hope. So I went to a resort for my
anniversary trip across the country with wristbands all over my
wrists and gave them all away.

So I'm restocking today.

When we talked about that last week, if you were
so caught up in because you said you didn't think
about Matthew West whole time, even Nah, I know Donnad
was working. Of course she's a machine. But my point
is is that if you're not able to listen to

the voice of the Holy Spirit, and times like that
and times that were instead of making it about ourselves,
making it about oh woe is me? And I'm going
through this. I'm going through that. Understandable people are going
through some things. But when we when we get stuck
on something trey and stay there. God can't use this

in situations because we are dealing with something that is
a hurdle that we can't get over. And my point
on the last week's podcast was you were open. You
were able to focus on your testimony and the things
you know. And one of my favorite scriptures is that

we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and
the word of our testimony. And you overcame, You overcame
unbelief by the blood of the Lamb and the word
of your testimony. And you were in a position to
be able to do that. And now, and you know
I've said this before, the word does not come back void,
It goes out and does exactly what it was meant

to do.

How often do we get to walk away from all
the pressures that we I mean, you're a hot box
every week, dude, You're a hot box every day, week,
every day.

I've just I felt like I've had the grace recently
just to turn my focus on him instead of looking
at all the problems, saying this is coming up, this
has to be paid, this has to be done. Just
looking at him, saying, Lord, you are the provider, and
you were the you give us the ability to make wealth,
and you know, just focusing on who he is, trying
to reset that and then go back, you know, and
address the problems or address the issues, because otherwise we

get so fixated.

On the problems, like how can you have joy?

How can you, like Michael said, how can you even
be in a position to really help anybody else when
you're so inwardly focused. So I felt like there's been
a shift in my thinking the past month or so
where it's just like when I'm in the midst of that,
just looking to him and saying, God, you created all this,
You see the beginning from the end. You can turn
this whole thing around, and so, you know, just trying
to focus on him. But I think it's funny your

vacations always end up being mission trips.

And I don't.

I don't purposely set out to go, Okay, I'm gonna
find somebody. It's just I'm in I'm drinking a I'm

It starts with the shirt and our testimony. Could you
imagine if you were hammered, slurring your words dancing with
you know, while Donna's work and you're out there dancing
with other women. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, so
there's there's something about you that was drawn and that's
the Holy Spirit. I believe that wholeheartedly.

There were there were two men that were looking for
something and you could feel it.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
What are we made of? What does the Bible say?
We're made of body, soul, soul, and spirit. And I
think that in our bodies are going to be are
deteriorating mine, especially you know, our souls are going to
be in one place or the other. But our spirit

is something that we long to have that relationship with
God because that's how he made us in Genesis where
it talks about we will make man in our image
and their image was Father Son, Holy Spirit, and they
were there before time and will always be there the
off of the omega. So I think man, in particular,

epitom Harvard professor. What isn't that like every person's dream
in academia to be a Harvard professor?

Yeah, he was a charming man. But then he's at
the point where he's searching. I saw him that night and.

That's that that spirit wanting that relationship with God.

I go on these trips and something always happens. There's
a connection made, and it happened again this time. I
sent yalla texta as soon as I was talking to
the Muslim guy after the cold plunge.

I said, he's Well, my wife's a Christian said, dude,
you're halfway there. Man, let's go ahead and take let's
go the rest of the way.

And I said, he prophesied, He gave a lot of prophecy,
But I believe the hope rests in the fact that
he died and he rose again. Five hundred witnesses, then
that's where the God was going. How do we know
five hundred witnesses. He made appearances for the next forty

to fifty days. Thomas putting his finger in the in
the wound, I said, Muhammad didn't have any witnesses riding
that flying in that donkey over to Jerusalem. Not one
witness saw it, but he said he did it. Not
one witness I've got witnesses.

Who was the first person to testify to the resurrection
of Jesus Christ, Mary, Martha and Mary.

Both of the women had a significant role in the gospel.

sincerity and reality and you sitting on a beach and

what draws people. The Holy spirit is doing exactly what

And I think, you know, we all have different backgrounds,
but we all have a witness that someone else can
relate to. You know, last week it was big news,
you know, the new Pope, dub Pope, the conclave, right,
and talking with some of the people there that were
kind of Catholic because when the white smoke came I
think that was on Wednesday, maybe Thursday, the white smoke

came out, there were people at the pool getting excited.

Oh, the white smoke's up. Oh my gosh, who's it
gonna be? And oh, Praise God?

And I'm like, all right, I'm gonna get excited about that.
All right, let's let's see where this goes. Then it's
an American and I'm going and he likes the White
Sox and I'm okay, well, you spent twenty something years
in Peru.

Said, Hey, this guy's a servant man. He went out
and did it. Don't say I agree with everything the
Catholic Church does, but at the same time, what what
are the things I can just look at them and say, crucifixion,
resurrection according to scripture.

And I was talking with my Muslim friend and he
kept getting into a lot of things he thought.

it happens like it doesn't happen every day, and I
feel like it does doesn't happen. I feel like it
doesn't happen the way it does with you guys, because
you guys getting these these conversations in public or somebody'll
I don't know, it's like you have different opportunities. I
think for us, like we have nurses and medical staff
coming by the house all the time, and they will
make comments about like the presence in the house or

how they feel when they've been there, like they notice
a difference.

So there's I don't know. I guess it's different for everybody.

But sometimes I wish that I had opportunities or like
you guys, because you guys are just really well spoken
when it comes to that, and I just feel.

Like I don't. I don't feel like I've had those
experiences with people.

So I guess for us, I mean, I'm out all
the time, and so I have We're always looking for it.
I am, I do. I look for it, and the
Holy Spirit is able to talk with me for that
reason because I'm open to it.

And Brad, it's there have been times that I've blown it.
Sure you know, well you've talked about that before. You
felt like you should have said something even But I
don't know.

I guess. I mean, God knows how we're wired.

He knows that that maybe some guys are better just
talking off the cuff, and maybe other people are better
at just by the way they live or the way
they interact with people that people notice there's something different.
But I know God, you know, God uses me in
different ways.

something like she goes, I heard Brad breaking that riff
on his guitar. I said, no, he was kind of
being subtle, but you could hear him.

to break out, but you can't. Sometimes I do.

And our last night in Mexico, we were in the
bar and this couple walks up in this one guy's
and he's got a walker and you can tell why
he talked. Probably had well, I know I know a story.
His name's Sonny. His wife's name Sandy. So he caught
on the beach couple, Sonny and Sandy, and they live

in Arizona. He's a Georgia Bulldog fan though, but he
walked up. Then he's sitting in his walker, it's one
of those, and he points at me and he goes.
Then he points at Donna and he goes, she's too
pretty for you, And I said, you know, that's right,

and we got to talk in and I could see
his wife, Sandy, just a really sweet super person. He
ug to try to get a thought out, but he's
he's trying to be he's gregarious, you know. And he
had well, he had emergency open heart surgery, just like me.

And then the day after the surgery he had a stroke.

While he was in the hospital.

They say that happens a lot.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
And bless his heart. But they go to the Yeah,
they go to these they go to these resorts and that's.

What they do. But you can see the weight on her.

You can feel it because you know he's dropping his
cane every second, and you know, you know, I'm sure
there's moments of cleanup she's got to do. And she goes,
if it wasn't for Jesus. I don't know how I
would get through this because all of our kids are
away from us, so it's me and him and they
were they were just a delightful couple. But just even

having discussions with believers reinforced in me the hope, you know, yeah,
really reinforced in me. I know on my alarm on
my phone seven thirty am, and I have a statement
underneath it that says there's a man today dot.

Dot So that goes off and that's what comes.

That's what comes up. There's a man today. Maybe that's
something we could do just to say, all right, Lord,
I'm going to walk out of here today and there's
going to be somebody. He might be a Muslim, he
might be a Jew, he might be an atheist, might
be another Christian that just needs to hear a good word.
What witness can we give to share the hope so
others will have it in a deeper, more meaningful way.

Something cool happened before left. Ah, it was we could
go Saturday. I went to go see the Vieria Charter
School do their rendition of Frozen.

Because of and I had heard Brianna Ellis sing at
my house. We did karaoke about three weeks ago. It
was Easter, and the Lord has taken a gift and

In this fourteen year old girl's throat.

I had goosebumps when she sang at my house.

No, it was a I can't remember which one it was,
but it was a worship song.

And we got to talk in and I said, hey,
do you know this song? And I played Oceans by
Hillsong Spirit Keep Me and it was haunting to hear
her sing that. Well, she had the lead and frozen.

that let.

It Go song, you know, and just nailed it.

I wept Wow, awesome, And when it was over, I prayed,
and I called Chris Johnson and I called her dad, Tim,
and she's going to be opening for Matthew West.

So she yeah two songs. Chris Johnson, who's brilliant and
a great vocalist. He's gonna harmonize with her. So she
doesn't feel like she's all by herself on the stage

But you know, his son's about to get married. I'm

sometimes it lends to really cool conversations. But this trip, guys,

sitting there next to the pool, I'm reading John Lynch's
book with Andrew Farley, also reading Patrick Young's book Who's

going to be coming to visit with us here in
a few weeks And the power of a witness and
the power of our story rang true from me on
this trip, as there was a couple from Toronto that
had just vivid discussions on our ministry, the importance of

knowing Jesus. I would say they were agnostic, probably this
kind of floating, sweet sweetheart people, but never really thought
about it.

every day and just had great conversations with him.

a sudden, I'm sitting there and this man says, excuse me, sir,

And I looked at him and I said, oh, this shirt.
I said, yeah.

He goes, what what what's that all about? And I said,
my name is Trey. And we started this little men's ministry.
It's called Men Passionate about Christ. And we we helped
men over come, help them understand the grace of God
how it affects them. And I went, I went through

the spiel per se, and he pulled up a chair
and just sat down and stared at me and explained
his Jewish roots. Harvard professor.

And what did he say?

He's like in the arts, like.

Really gets into like art history, like arts and music
like that.

He's a violinist.

You can tell he's smart, smart, and you can tell
he's off the charts with his ivy league. Way really
sweet man. Then I gave him a suicide story and
the open heart story and we just started going. I said,
I said, you know, if you ever follow us, my

goal is that you're you, as a Jew, are going
to hear about Jesus in a way that you probably
never heard about him, and the hope that's there now.
He was with his fiance, who was Catholic, and I'm
going on, how's that gonna work? You know when when
y'all get you know, when y'all get married. But so

I gave him a bracelet. He was touched.

We talked several more times.

I gave him the gospel and gave him my story.

But then I went to the.

Spa and I walked into the spa for hydro therapy
with a guy.

Named far Horror.

She got spicy and nails done.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
No, no nails. It was a hydro therapy, dude. It
was all water related therapies and it was great. And
he was a young guy man and he we started
walking back. He was with his wife and then they
we had to part ways to go to the men's
locker room. She went to the women's locker room right
and when we were in there, the guy was, Okay,
here's your locker, here's your code, here's your slippers, here's
(09:59):
a towel, here's a rope. These are the things we're
gonna do first, and he just kind of looks at
me and goes, I gotta admit him a little bit drunk,
and went, dude, you're gonna love it.

So we go to the hot.

Room for ten minutes, and then we walk out to
a cold challenge so.

And then we went to the steam room, which it
was unbelievable.

And then we went to the cold plunch, and this
guy was keyed up about getting in a cold plunch.
I bet he's twenty five, twenty eight years old. And
I said, come on, dude, we're doing it. So we
walked down to that cold plunge. We got up to
here and then you know, it's one of those pools
you walk into and then we just when he went
all the way in submerged. His head came up. He goes, man,

I would never have done this if it wasn't for you. Yep,
And I said right, and he and say, I just
baptized you. Yeah, and I and I said, I said, buddy,
He goes, well, you're in the ministry. What tell me
about that, I told him, and I said, where are
you from? He goes, I'm from India. I said, okay,
(11:17):
what do you think about this India Pakistan stuff going
on right now? He goes, well, we've been fighting each
other for years. I said, y'all are two nuclear powers
that are firing missiles at each other already.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
That hasn't happened. We don't.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
We haven't fired missiles against Russia, right, we haven't fired
missiles against China. So I feel like we really got
to watch what's going on over there. And I said,
so you're from you're from India. I said, what are you?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Goes, I'm a muss I'm definitely a Muslim. Said okay, well, how.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Does that work in India because Hindus and the Hindus
will kill Christians and they'll they'll they fight against the
Muslims and then the Pakistan you know, they they're fighting
back and forth. And he just said, you know, I
believe Jesus walked the earth and he's he was a prophet.
And I said, not only that, but God walked the
(12:15):
earth as a man two thousand years ago, so you
would never have to pay. And it was totally out
of love and Jesus rose from the dead. Muhammad didn't
do that, the Mormons didn't do that, Buddha didn't do that.
All the Hindu gods didn't do that. Don't you want hope?
(12:37):
And he goes, well, I think I have a little
hope because my wife's Christian. I went, dude, you're halfway there. Man,
you're halfway there. But we had He was locked in
and loaded in and chatting about Jesus there, full blown Muslim.
His parents immigrated from India and Muslim Indians, and he
lived in Chicago and working up there. So I gave
(12:59):
him a spand and he actually sent an email saying
it was great seeing you. I want to follow along, yes,
but you were you just don't you go all the
ends of the earth. Your witness is with you. And
it just hit me hard as I walked away from
a Jew and a Muslim.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
I just they are so hard with the actual gospel
of Jesus Christ and the resurrection. They are so tough
to convince. And I said this to you earlier that
you know Isaiah fifty three. Actually it starts in Isaiah
fifty two to sixteen and goes on all through Isaiah
fifty three that explicitly talks about Jesus and it's their prophet.
(13:44):
And I've seen some reels where they're talking to Jews
on the street about, hey, what is this New Testament
Old Testament? Only they're all going, oh, that's New Testament,
that's about Jesus. And he's like, no, this is in
the Old Testament. This is talking about Jesus. And so
they are very hard. Was he It sounds like he
was open to it.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
Tre he was open because when I told him my
suicidal experience, all of a sudden I saw him start
breaking down. And I quoted James five. I said, he goes,
is that a verse? I said, yeah, it's confess your
sins to one another. So through that in prayer, genuine,
genuine brotherhood, you can begin to heal. And I gave
(14:25):
him some stories about men that had come clean, you know,
with us, over the years, and he was mesmerized.

And he was hurting and you don't know why.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
And he had some depression bouts in some some big struggles,
went through a nasty divorce, you know, all of those things.

she's at the questions and everything else, and it just
just I don't know, guys. I keep thinking about Peter's
word is always be prepared to give a reason for
your hope. So I went to a resort for my
anniversary trip across the country with wristbands all over my
wrists and gave them all away.

When we talked about that last week, if you were
so caught up in because you said you didn't think
about Matthew West whole time, even Nah, I know Donnad
was working. Of course she's a machine. But my point
is is that if you're not able to listen to

the voice of the Holy Spirit, and times like that
and times that were instead of making it about ourselves,
making it about oh woe is me? And I'm going
through this. I'm going through that. Understandable people are going
through some things. But when we when we get stuck
on something trey and stay there. God can't use this
(15:58):
in situations because we are dealing with something that is
a hurdle that we can't get over. And my point
on the last week's podcast was you were open. You
were able to focus on your testimony and the things
you know. And one of my favorite scriptures is that
(16:21):
we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and
the word of our testimony. And you overcame, You overcame
unbelief by the blood of the Lamb and the word
of your testimony. And you were in a position to
be able to do that. And now, and you know
I've said this before, the word does not come back void,
It goes out and does exactly what it was meant
(16:41):
to do.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
How often do we get to walk away from all
the pressures that we I mean, you're a hot box
every week, dude, You're a hot box every day, week,
every day.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
I've just I felt like I've had the grace recently
just to turn my focus on him instead of looking
at all the problems, saying this is coming up, this
has to be paid, this has to be done. Just
looking at him, saying, Lord, you are the provider, and
you were the you give us the ability to make wealth,
and you know, just focusing on who he is, trying
to reset that and then go back, you know, and
address the problems or address the issues, because otherwise we
(17:19):
get so fixated.

On the problems, like how can you have joy?
Speaker 6 (17:21):
How can you, like Michael said, how can you even
be in a position to really help anybody else when
you're so inwardly focused. So I felt like there's been
a shift in my thinking the past month or so
where it's just like when I'm in the midst of that,
just looking to him and saying, God, you created all this,
You see the beginning from the end. You can turn
this whole thing around, and so, you know, just trying
to focus on him. But I think it's funny your
(17:44):
vacations always end up being mission trips.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
And I don't.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
I don't purposely set out to go, Okay, I'm gonna
find somebody. It's just I'm in I'm drinking a I'm
drinking a mango margarita with double Repisodo.
Speaker 3 (17:59):

Me, sure I see I've been seeing this shirt you're wearing.
Can you tell me about that? Oh that's fantastic, Well, sure,
comes sit down, come home, all right.

It starts with the shirt and our testimony. Could you
imagine if you were hammered, slurring your words dancing with
you know, while Donna's work and you're out there dancing
with other women. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, so
there's there's something about you that was drawn and that's
the Holy Spirit. I believe that wholeheartedly.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
There were there were two men that were looking for
something and you could feel it.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
What are we made of? What does the Bible say?
We're made of body, soul, soul, and spirit. And I
think that in our bodies are going to be are
deteriorating mine, especially you know, our souls are going to
be in one place or the other. But our spirit
(18:58):
is something that we long to have that relationship with
God because that's how he made us in Genesis where
it talks about we will make man in our image
and their image was Father Son, Holy Spirit, and they
were there before time and will always be there the
off of the omega. So I think man, in particular,
(19:24):
we strive, we do we you know, the guy's the
epitom Harvard professor. What isn't that like every person's dream
in academia to be a Harvard professor?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (19:35):
Yeah, he was a charming man. But then he's at
the point where he's searching. I saw him that night and.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
That's that that spirit wanting that relationship with God.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yeah, I don't know.

I go on these trips and something always happens. There's
a connection made, and it happened again this time. I
sent yalla texta as soon as I was talking to
the Muslim guy after the cold plunge.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Yeah, you're halfway went.

I said, he's Well, my wife's a Christian said, dude,
you're halfway there. Man, let's go ahead and take let's
go the rest of the way.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Well, I agree. He's a prophet, you know.

And I said, he prophesied, He gave a lot of prophecy,
But I believe the hope rests in the fact that
he died and he rose again. Five hundred witnesses, then
that's where the God was going. How do we know
five hundred witnesses. He made appearances for the next forty
(20:32):
to fifty days. Thomas putting his finger in the in
the wound, I said, Muhammad didn't have any witnesses riding
that flying in that donkey over to Jerusalem. Not one
witness saw it, but he said he did it. Not
one witness I've got witnesses.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Who was the first person to testify to the resurrection
of Jesus Christ, Mary, Martha and Mary.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Both of the women had a significant role in the gospel.
So let me ask you, a significant role. If you're
gonna let everyone else know.

If you're gonna lie about something, are you gonna.

Use right, you're gonna make a story about that.

Somebody that's low class, you're gonna use. Uh, I don't know,
somebody that has a huge presence.

Michelle and I just finished the fourth season of The Chosen.
I think fifth is coming out on Prime next month. Yeah,
the thing, the last episode, and this just blew my
mind because I'm watching this going really this this Pharisee.
I can't remember which one was. It was one of
the two that has been kind of following Jesus and

they're they're kind of getting to the point where they
they kind of believe who he is, but they're not anyway.
We're married by is the I mean, they sure we're
buying that craft of precious oil that I mean she's loading.
I don't know if it was golden it's like she's
throwing bags at the money onto the counter and she
walks away with a year a year's wage is worth

of oil anoining oil. And when she's annoying and he's
talking about the whole time she's annoying Jesus's feet, this
Pharisee is talking about how unclean this situation is because
women weren't allowed to touch Jesus or touch a man, I
should say a Jewish man, because it made him unclean.
And he's bitching about the whole time, not seeing exactly
(22:35):
what was in Mary's heart and the fact that Jesus
was being annoyed, and he says it in the episode,
she's annoying and annoying me for my dead. So we
get caught up on things that have nothing to do
with life because we have a religious tone, or we
believe in a religiosity as opposed to having a relationship
(22:57):
with Jesus Christ. And I think Trey went, people see
sincerity and reality and you sitting on a beach and
what comes out of your mouth is sincere is truth.
You can't dispute dispute the truth, And I think that's
what draws people. The Holy spirit is doing exactly what
(23:17):
he intended to do.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
And I think, you know, we all have different backgrounds,
but we all have a witness that someone else can
relate to. You know, last week it was big news,
you know, the new Pope, dub Pope, the conclave, right,
and talking with some of the people there that were
kind of Catholic because when the white smoke came I
think that was on Wednesday, maybe Thursday, the white smoke
(23:40):
came out, there were people at the pool getting excited.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
Oh, the white smoke's up. Oh my gosh, who's it
gonna be? And oh, Praise God?
Speaker 5 (23:48):
And I'm like, all right, I'm gonna get excited about that.
All right, let's let's see where this goes. Then it's
an American and I'm going and he likes the White
Sox and I'm okay, well, you spent twenty something years
in Peru.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
But yeah, he.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
Said, Hey, this guy's a servant man. He went out
and did it. Don't say I agree with everything the
Catholic Church does, but at the same time, what what
are the things I can just look at them and say, crucifixion,
resurrection according to scripture.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
I'll hang my hat on that. What's a deal breaker?
What's not?
Speaker 5 (24:24):
And I was talking with my Muslim friend and he
kept getting into a lot of things he thought.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Were deal breakers.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
You know, yeah, but you still got to work hard
and you got you know that, And that's just ingrained
into the Muslim culture, this performance driven thing. And he's
and I said, well, you just told me you're a
little drunk. He ain't supposed to be doing that if
you're a Muslim, and he goes, well, I know, I know, yeah.
I said, hey, it's all good man, just and when

he got in the cold plunge, his his when everything
went away, he.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Was no longer, he was no longer.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
Real quick, I gave him the line from George Costanza,
I was in the pool.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
He didn't get it.

I guess he just never saw that what George Costanza
the swimming pool and Elaine saw him after he came
out of the swimming pool and saw him.

Niggad and nigga that was at the pool.

Was the cold one shrinking looks like an acorn.

You know what, Michael, every I think every episode you
do some cringy joke, And from now on, I'm gonna

We're in perfect people, but we're you know, going back
to the Lord though. I mean, do you know where
your heart is, Michael.

Do we wake up in the morning.

Expecting that we're gonna share our witness with someone that day?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
I do know, not that, but I do you. I
ask for situations that I can be put in to
be able to share the gospel.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
I guess I don't think about it, but it sometimes
it happens like it doesn't happen every day, and I
feel like it does doesn't happen. I feel like it
doesn't happen the way it does with you guys, because
you guys getting these these conversations in public or somebody'll
I don't know, it's like you have different opportunities. I
think for us, like we have nurses and medical staff
coming by the house all the time, and they will
make comments about like the presence in the house or
(26:26):
how they feel when they've been there, like they notice
a difference.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
So there's I don't know. I guess it's different for everybody.
Speaker 6 (26:31):
But sometimes I wish that I had opportunities or like
you guys, because you guys are just really well spoken
when it comes to that, and I just feel.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Like I don't. I don't feel like I've had those
experiences with people.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
So I guess for us, I mean, I'm out all
the time, and so I have We're always looking for it.
I am, I do. I look for it, and the
Holy Spirit is able to talk with me for that
reason because I'm open to it.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
And Brad, it's there have been times that I've blown it.
Sure you know, well you've talked about that before. You
felt like you should have said something even But I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
I guess. I mean, God knows how we're wired.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
He knows that that maybe some guys are better just
talking off the cuff, and maybe other people are better
at just by the way they live or the way
they interact with people that people notice there's something different.
But I know God, you know, God uses me in
different ways.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Too, Exactly when you quietly play that riff. Michelle said
something like she goes, I heard Brad breaking that riff
on his guitar. I said, no, he was kind of
being subtle, but you could hear him.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
It's still there.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
It's there, man. It was like, I know you want
to break out, but you can't. Sometimes I do.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
I know.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah, it's good, it's fantastic, but that's your.

Talent, that's your talent, that's who you are.

And there may be some rocker in the audience that
goes man, I can relate to that. Yeah.

Sometimes you can spot the musicians in the crowd because
the way they stare, the way they stare at what
you're doing, like you can see it in their eyes,
like that dude.

me and says that. But I look at others and
say that I'm I'm a hacker on the guitar, but
I can.

And our last night in Mexico, we were in the
bar and this couple walks up in this one guy's
and he's got a walker and you can tell why
he talked. Probably had well, I know I know a story.
His name's Sonny. His wife's name Sandy. So he caught
on the beach couple, Sonny and Sandy, and they live
(28:30):
in Arizona. He's a Georgia Bulldog fan though, but he
walked up. Then he's sitting in his walker, it's one
of those, and he points at me and he goes.
Then he points at Donna and he goes, she's too
pretty for you, And I said, you know, that's right,
(28:51):
and we got to talk in and I could see
his wife, Sandy, just a really sweet super person. He
ug to try to get a thought out, but he's
he's trying to be he's gregarious, you know. And he
had well, he had emergency open heart surgery, just like me.
(29:11):
And then the day after the surgery he had a stroke.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
While he was in the hospital.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
They say that happens a lot.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
And bless his heart. But they go to the Yeah,
they go to these they go to these resorts and that's.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
What they do. But you can see the weight on her.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
You can feel it because you know he's dropping his
cane every second, and you know, you know, I'm sure
there's moments of cleanup she's got to do. And she goes,
if it wasn't for Jesus. I don't know how I
would get through this because all of our kids are
away from us, so it's me and him and they
were they were just a delightful couple. But just even
(29:54):
having discussions with believers reinforced in me the hope, you know, yeah,
really reinforced in me. I know on my alarm on
my phone seven thirty am, and I have a statement
underneath it that says there's a man today dot.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Dot So that goes off and that's what comes.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
That's what comes up. There's a man today. Maybe that's
something we could do just to say, all right, Lord,
I'm going to walk out of here today and there's
going to be somebody. He might be a Muslim, he
might be a Jew, he might be an atheist, might
be another Christian that just needs to hear a good word.
What witness can we give to share the hope so
others will have it in a deeper, more meaningful way.
(30:41):
Something cool happened before left. Ah, it was we could
go Saturday. I went to go see the Vieria Charter
School do their rendition of Frozen.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Oh cool, Oh that's right.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
Because of and I had heard Brianna Ellis sing at
my house. We did karaoke about three weeks ago. It
was Easter, and the Lord has taken a gift and

put it right here.

In this fourteen year old girl's throat.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
I had goosebumps when she sang at my house.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
Over a crappy amplifier with a karaoke machine that pops
on my TV.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
Right.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Was it a country music song?
Speaker 5 (31:32):
No, it was a I can't remember which one it was,
but it was a worship song.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Cool.
Speaker 5 (31:39):
And we got to talk in and I said, hey,
do you know this song? And I played Oceans by
Hillsong Spirit Keep Me and it was haunting to hear
her sing that. Well, she had the lead and frozen.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
We could go. Saturday, she played Elsa and she sang
that let.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
It Go song, you know, and just nailed it.
Speaker 5 (32:03):
I wept Wow, awesome, And when it was over, I prayed,
and I called Chris Johnson and I called her dad, Tim,
and she's going to be opening for Matthew West.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
They are kidding, yeah wow yah.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
So she yeah two songs. Chris Johnson, who's brilliant and
a great vocalist. He's gonna harmonize with her. So she
doesn't feel like she's all by herself on the stage
and he's in a coacher the next week or so.
But you know, his son's about to get married. I'm
not sure he saw that he's getting married. Twenty sixth

or something. It doesn't look old enough to have a
son now, No, And but yeah, Brianna Ellis, a fourteen
year old prodigy from from here is going.
