and she would make these bizarre comments, like he'd be
reading something and she'd say something that is totally just

rest of us like you wouldn't say anything. He would
stop you look at us like like did you just
hear that? And we were all cracking up, and this
leady had no idea that we were laughing at her,
Like she thought she was funny, but she was just
so off base and untinged and weird.

And he would just look at us like solarious. Yeah

go if you couldn't take it.

I mean I had you talked about this, I think yesterday,
and I said, are a lot of people just waiting
for the other shoe to drop? We just is that
how we walk walk lives? As far as a relationship

gonna wait till the shoe drives? How do we fight?

and trying to turn my focus back to God and
who he is. But still we're still going to have

days where you just feel like everything sucks and you

I had it in my calendar. It was his birthday
about I'm going to go And on that day, I
had about three hours and I just needed a chill
and a movie came on.

in my life because this young man that I hired

He said, Man, I'm sorry for another touch. I need
to let you know something. And it it there ain't
no joy in that, right. And I think about a
common friend we have.

This mother is staring at her son that's in hospice
right now, and what do you say to this person?

No, he's about to go to a better place or
some ship like that, right, you know?

And how do they we we walk through this minefield
of life in our our culture, the Western culture is
just so got to have it all, have it now,
be happy now, instant gratification and all these other things
we don't look at the big picture enough. And when
the tragedies happen, boom, this yever gets in between your

ears and make you start and dialate.

And God truly is you know, the joy of the
Lord is our strength. But then we don't. Sometimes we
don't have joy.

So where does that that that strength come from to
be able to go through beyond the next chemo or
the next time.

knowing through I just.

she through those two miscarriages. She captured her thoughts and
put it in this book, Conversation Less Carriage, and I
was reading part of it this morning. It just so

much of it rings true about what we experience, and
it's okay to say sometimes one time I just shut
down a lot, right.

It's okay to feel that, it's okay.

humility or toxic.

So so I mean what we're talking about in turning
your thoughts towards the Lord, it's not toxic positivity. It's
not this this insensitive denial of what's happening. But yeah,
I think that's key and what Garret said's key to
being being in the work and having that foundation because
there are times what I feel like I'm in despair,
but what a scripture will come to my mind? So

I got remind me something a seed that was planted
in my heart a long time ago because I was
in the work, and I know sometimes it's the hardest
thing to do in the moment, just us to go
sit down and read the Bible or look up for
first man, that's uh, that's where the power is, and
that's that's the difference I think between what believers have
and non believers.

What hope does a non believer have? What can they hope? Then?
What can they look too? Week?

You know, we know that God is working all things

through is good, but he's working you together and he's

express it and then ask him to help you through it,
you know.

And that's the scripture about why do you worry about
what you need or what you s'll wear? Because Father
in Heaven already knows what you need prior to you
even going there.

He knows what our needs are. So when when you
have that that spirit of God.

Inside you, and you can talk and you can reflect,
and you can praise Him in the good times and
hopefully praise Him in the bed as well. But that
that relationship for me, I can never go back to
the old ever again. I can't sure after what I've experienced,
you know.

And it's it's it is like exercising him must because
when you're working out, you're not necessarily getting bigger or
stronger in that moment, but you will in the long run.
So if I'm in a difficult moment and I'm praying
to the Lord, I mean, sometimes I do get peace immediately.
Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I don't feel different at all.
But I know that by giving that to him, remembering
who he is, what he's done, in the long run,

is going to build my faith. I'm going to become stronger.
But sometimes in the you know, you're just gonna have
a day of the socks and it's going to be hard.

to come in through the Gulf coast to go over

So well, and then the Weather channel twenty four second.

Yeah, oh yeah, oh devastated, it's going to be catastrophic.
They show the water level that exactly then, But what
did it do in my brain?

Had created this sense of anxiety, the sense of fear.
Oh my gosh, you gotta get bottled water that's spilled,
the bats over water.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Sure, let's make sure we have can goods because power
is going to be gone for at least a month.

And you know all these things.

Speaker 6 (29:20):
And I'm not downplaying catastrophes because like the North Carolina
people of Kentucky people a lot. And I'm sitting there
putting up the hurricane shutters and I'm freaking out. I'm
sweating my butt off because it's always the day before
a hurricane, it's like one hundred degrees. And I noticed
there were two Samuel Krans next to me and they

were just like chilling, and I'm like, they're not all
fired up.

And then hurricane comes.

Speaker 6 (29:48):
We hunkered down, it goes over, come out the next
day looking for damage and debris, and it's starting to
take everything down.

It's taking everything down.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
I'm cutting my hand on the metal.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
Hur hurricane shutters and I just feel gross and nasty.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
And now I got to get everything.

Set back up and so I get back to normal
life and all this. And I look over.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
And there they were again, and I'm going, where did
y'all go for her?

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Really and now.

But you know what they're doing. They're feasting because the
ground is so wet.

The worms are coming to the top. And they're just
sitting there hammering the ground, chowing down. And I'll went,
I wonder where those two slept during the storm or
where they come down under a tree in a cave.
And the Lord made it work and they're fine, they're unscathed.

And they just kind of hit me like, well, I
can be out of shape from Gende's not to eat down.

The worry was there, I can lose all this. They
were like, man, it's time to chow down. The Lord
just provided for us. I turned it out, get out there.

You know they call them the Rabbi of the skies
in West Texas.

I don't know.

Speaker 6 (31:04):
I don't want praised on Yeah, Samuel Crane, what's acted
in Florida, I guess, But I'm a pop one.

Yeah, I want to. I want rib and the sky

I in West Texas, you could have you had a permit,
you coul hunt those things.

And I'm never eating. They chased Leila and they kissed

went to the hospital with a few months ago as
a father, and it's a ribbage blood that you can't help, right, Yeah,

And I think of all the things Jesus said, how
much enjoyed was Jesus feeling when he looked up to
the heavens and quoted damas sitting flying?

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Have you forsaken me? Father Tea? Why? And weeks and Jesus.

Speaker 6 (32:17):
Experienced that unsettling thing about being human? And why can't
we lean into him since he's he said it and
filed it himself.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
I think, I think sometimes we just have to get
through the moment. I think, so, I don't know, it's again,
I go back to the analogy of the ship. They're anchored,
so they're not really going to go anywhere, but they're
still getting battered by the waves by like like i
may have a day where i just feel like I'm
getting battered around, but I'm not like I'm not moving
away from the Lord. I'm not going to lose my salvation.

(32:46):
But I might have a rough day when stormy seas.
But with that anchor of joy and and you know,
the anchor of the Word and who Jesus is, that's
going to keep me grounded, that's going to keep me
from going you're breaking off and going over the edge.

Speaker 9 (32:59):
I think literally every saying in life is either a
testing of faith or the good things are you know,
a confirmation of faith. But on the testing of faith's side,
you know, you have to be in the words so
that you understand that God's grace is sufficient and it's
not just like a verse you tell people, but there's

(33:21):
so many examples of faith is what unlocks that grace
and that sufficiency. And he only needs the size of
a mustard seed to work with because you know, we're
supposed to be in full faith, but we're human. But
God can make up the gap in that faith. And
one of my things that I pray over myself a lot.

(33:43):
Is this story from Mark nine, and it kind of
ties in with the grief that you're talking about feeling
as a father with your sons going through something or
whatever it is. But you know, this child was possessed
by it in it for years and years and years.
That obviously browned this guy's faith, you know.

Speaker 6 (34:02):
And like I was talking to the you know, one
of my best friends the other day with him that's
going through this, and he said, this is where I
felt my thing and I want to shoot I know
me too.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
But if you go to this story, what happens is
Jesus said it.

Speaker 6 (34:19):
You know, he's asking Jesus to heal herself to a
statement this is what a curus City's twenty three.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Is the initial question.

Speaker 7 (34:30):
Where he's petitioning Jesus to heal him.

Speaker 6 (34:34):
If you can that, Jesus, if you can, everything is
possible for the one who believes.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
So the belief unlocks the blessing. But then he goes
in curse twenty four and the guy.

Speaker 7 (34:43):
Says, Jesus, I do believe, but help me with my abse.

Speaker 6 (34:48):
So he had a little bit, a little bit of
faith that which was enough for God and it's like
God helped me with with the rest of the rest.

Speaker 9 (34:56):
There's always that gap, yeah, because he can't and then
and then he heal. So I find myself praying that
all the time, like I do believe, because I do,
but there's all these other things that are poken in
to make.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Me not believe. Lord, it will help you with Yes,
you know, I think that that's a knowledge thing. Yeah,
I getnowledge. Yeah, he was a weak. Yeah, so it's
being honest with God. You know, you have faith to him.

Speaker 6 (35:19):
With a God, I think it's being a rock right now.
I needed to come in and it helped me with
this a little bit of unbelief. That's that's creeped to
get just it.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
Uh, you know that that unlocks the he and last
signify confuseans.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Michelle said something and that's an all the group. But
I think you know when they were going through those
came up pret Somatos. She still had her faith, when
she was still a light in that ring.

Called the God.

I'll never forget when I went to visit them the
first time in the hospital and her daughter was I
walked into Holmes and I was like a praying, Lord,
I'm not sure what him is. Say, I walked in
there was these two bright shining lights staring at me
from their faces and their hearts, and it just lifted.

Me up and my mother and daughter. Yeah, And my
point of that is what your Garrett is there, and
that is that little bit still glows in the side
of us.

That that little spark emit in the shit I don't below,
it is still there.

And so there are tones when they had in the
past and my despair and that I'm able to still
share or still bring that spark.

Alive, to be able to go you will love.

Even though I'm going through all this and even though
it sucks and I've turned away from you more, I'm
not following you, that spark was still there and I
still felt.

Just the hand of all the spirit gone through this,
