Speaker 1 (00:01):
Yo, what are you doing right now?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
We are going to get real about men's issues, who
Jesus is and who we are as men in Christ.
We're gonna hear Trey, Jeremy, Michael and Brad break it down.
These guys call themselves the cussin Christians. All right, guys,
what is going on?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Well, we're going at the Canada on Wednesday, getting out
of the heat. Man, it's gonna be nice Canada. Yeah,
going up to Banth and where's Banth? Up to the mountains.
So we're flying into Calgary, so it's kind of on
the west side pronounced Banth b a N.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
So I didn't know.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
But did you realize Calgary has I think it's Calgary
has the largest rodeo.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
In the world. Wow, stampede. Stampede Calgary?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
You mean a stampede?
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Get your head.
Speaker 6 (01:00):
Make fun of myself because I had one and I
went to speech for two freaking years, so I overcame.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
That's cool.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
That's quite the adversity a word of my testimony.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Dude. I'm so glad you're going through that. Yeah, it's cool.
The photographs and the videos you showed. I was zooming
in there. I could see you on the sidelines watching
and there's some memories you're making that will always be there. Yeah, No,
it's cool.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
It's uh, definitely learning a lot right now because it's
a it's it's interesting because they're ten, right, and so
like I know and that that's the whole thing this
offense and explain to you guys, like it's no, they're
not like learning certain things that they'll want to learn later.
But that's the whole point though, is at ten they
can't do it anyway, So you just don't make them
do it right. You make them do what they can
(01:48):
do right, and they win, you know. And so like
I have linemen in four point stances sometimes you know
what I mean, like, oh yeah, absolutely, why not.
Speaker 6 (01:57):
Because they're not pulling, they're not having they're not shooting
out getting.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
The no and then honestly it's all play action passes anyway.
So just is the hardest part about youth football is
getting a kid to come off the line right, Like
getting them to actually come out of off the line
and not stand straight up. It's the hardest thing you
can do in youth football. Everybody knows how to catch
everybodystead of run. Everybody getting lineman the fall forward, So
put seventy percent of their weight on their hands and
(02:20):
then make them fall forward. They literally can't stand up.
We only have seventeen kids like on the team total
right now.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
So some kids are playing both sides of.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Them all they have to. They don't have a choice.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
I mean I had, like, dude, it was it was
like one hundred and seven on the field Saturday.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
I mean, how does all get out?
Speaker 5 (02:37):
And I have kids like I need to break coaching, Like,
I don't have anybody to put in.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
You can't come out stop. And that's what they do
with football here in Florida. Is every I mean, if
it's no it's a ten minute a half, there's a
five minute mandatory time out, okay for for hydration. And
I'm not sure I remember when we played Pop Warner
it was that way because I remember those brutal days.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Yeah, like in practice, every hour of practice you have
to take a fifteen minute break, and then during the
scrimmage of the one hour scrimmage to twenty minute halves
with like the clock ran and then in the middle
we had like a fifteen minute water break.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
You got water misters and stuff that spray on the kids.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
We don't have misters.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
We have h We have fans and stuff that hook
the tents, so we have like shaded tents that we
put up.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Remember when we played, it was like water hose salt table, youn.
It burned your mouth when they turn on the water
hose because it was so hot.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
We had this metal pipe that had holes drilled in it.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Yeah, that was high tech.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
And we would just, you know, drink straight out of
this metal pipe.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
With a rich I'm yeah, yeah, we we had that too.
And when I was playing seventh grade in Midland, the
and that pipe was hooked up to the irrigation pipe,
so I was drinking reclaimed water. I think a lot. Yeah,
I think that all a lot. I think I was
(04:00):
drinking water. And remember afterwards, coaches gave me salt pills
and yeah, remember I did.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I think back then, the only flavor of gatorade was
that was the Yeah, and I saw some kid drink
that in sixth grade and he threw up, and I'm like,
I'm never drinking that stuff. So I didn't drink gatorade
for years until they came out with different flavors.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
It came out in the sixties, right, for the FODA Gators.
That's right, Okay, Yeah, there's a plaque. There's a big
plate parking there's a big plaque in the parking lot
at the stadium about the Gatorade.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
And I remember getting cramps one time and I was
told to a large fry from McDonald's with extra salt
and eat it with a ketchup the like that'll help.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Let's do that, all right, complain, I'm gonna be healthy.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
McDonald never stopped.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
And fries are still in your stomach this day.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
You did? Have you ever watched that show? Supersized me? Yes?
Speaker 5 (04:53):
Yes, And he left the burger in his pocket from
New Year and New Year and it was the exact same.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
I don't get me wrong.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I'll eat some fast food once in a blue moon,
but I always feel like absolute afterwards.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah, I didn't feel like that.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
I mean maybe it's an older but like I feel
like it's because a lot of stuff's just not the
way it used to.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
I can't tell that.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Yeah. I remember being really really thirsty about two years ago,
and I, for some reason in my brain between my ears,
ice cold coca cola sounded great, and I took that coke.
I went to Public's, got a bottle of coke and
I drank the whole thing within ten seconds. I felt
like dog the rest of the day.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
There's like twenty teaspoons of sugar.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
So sick. Yeah, and I love coke, but I had
an impact moment to start this morning. About an hour
and a half ago, my phone rang seven am. Are
we recording? Yeah? Yeah, seven am this morning. My phone
rang Monday morning. Is it is one of our brothers
from Kentucky and dealing with some stuff. Took a chance
(05:58):
i'd be awake. I was, and we got to pray.
We got to share with me some of his frustrations
as fears, and he uh, he brought up something that
we're going to talk about today. I thought was really interesting.
He teed me up and said, and this is where
you wanted to go today. He says, you know, I
just feel like the spiritual battles going on and Satan
(06:22):
is jacking with me in the biggest way. And he uh,
you know, without giving up much information for confidentiality purposes,
my brother Caleb was was really hurting inside. And I
had had a setback and is recovering and doing well.
But he, you know, talking about Satan and his minions
(06:44):
that are trying to plant things in our brains to
keep our focus away from who we truly are. And
it was a great conversation. We prayed and said goodbye.
I said, I'm heading up to the podcast. I might
mention your name, So there you are, Caleb till everybody high.
But I know it's been on Michael's heart. I was
in my church yesterday last night. We had a prayer
session for the whole church because of just all of
(07:06):
the negativity that's been happening with you know, one of
our key people taking their life and some personnel things
that are going on. It just seems like there's a
lot of people screaming out Satan is more powerful than
ever right now. And Michael been wanting to talk about
this for a couple of weeks. Man, So how my
(07:27):
question is a kick us off, is how does Satan
really work? How much power does he have on the world,
How much power does he have on a Christian? And
do we give him too much credit?
Speaker 6 (07:39):
You know, the reason I brought this up is because
just because of that reason, people are getting bombarded and
I think the heats kicking up. But also, you know,
the scriptures, we're sitting bond grace. The bond's much more.
I think Satan knows he's running out of time, whether
it's now the you know, ten years, fifty years. I
(08:02):
think we're in that that downslope that he's really getting
to the point where. But you also see a lot
of revivals and things happen in people's lives. So you know,
ultimately I'm bringing up this conversation or this topic, God wins.
I want everybody to know that God wins. You know,
no weapon formed against this shall prosper, no evil befall us,
(08:24):
or any sickness come near us. And I want people
to know that. And and so I was thinking back
back in Genesis trade, and we've talked about, you know,
Genesis three at times. But why didn't Satan mess with Adam?
Why did he mess with Adam when Eve came along
(08:47):
and there they became a family, he didn't mess with Adam.
And I don't know, we don't know how long Adam
was there before God took areer about.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
Yeah, well, I mean it, it makes it makes perfect sense.
And if you if you read along in the Bible,
or or or two or two come together as one
you know, and all of those things, it's even more
powerful bonding. Christ Uh, I think, I think. I think
that lesson learned is Satan hates the family period.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
I agree, And that's some of my notes because Satan
never enters a picture until the woman is created. As
soon as there is a relationship, than comes Satan. So
I've seen it in my life. I know you've seen
it in your life. We are dealing with with men
at sea in places where they have destroyed their families,
(09:41):
whether it's through substance abuse or or whatever, anger issues abuse.
So good catch, and I'm I'm seeing it more and more.
And we've got a mutual friend that that's really struggling
and there's a lot of prayers going up for him
(10:04):
right now. But I see that aspect where Satan's taking relationships,
trying to destroy the relationship because the Bible says, we're
two or more gathered in my name. There I am
in their myths. So we as husbands and wives, we
are our own little church. There's power in that jo
where two or more gathered. He didn't say one, he
(10:26):
said two. And Satan wants to destroy relationships. He didn't
mess with Adam. But when Eve came along, boom, that's
when he started, and he tempted Eve and the whole
downfall happened. So I just I wanted to talk about it.
And he has no power over us other than what
we give him. There's two reasons that Satan hates the
(10:49):
family because it was a thing that transfers faith from
generation to generation designed by God. So you know, raise
up a child in the way he should go when
he is old, he won't depart from it. We are
you are teaching your small kids about Jesus. I had
to learn on my own because you know, there wasn't
(11:09):
a whole lot of faith in the way I was
growing up, the way I grew up. But the whole
point is is that the generation that we are teaching
our kids to grow up in the faith is huge power.
And Satan knows that. And he and it says, if
I can tack relationships, I will I will cut that
(11:33):
conduit of the work of God on people's lives. And
that's he's cutting that out of people's lives. We see
guys that see them mainly and and guys that say,
you know what, my family, I don't have. I don't
have a relationship with my family anymore. I'm trying to
have a relationship with my kids. He's cut that conduit,
and and that that's that, that same spirit to raise
(11:56):
Christ from the dead is the same spirit that lives
on us. That's that that conduit.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
That we have and.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
Your life will always determined by the quality of your relationships.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
Well, to me, it makes sense some of the books.
I know, Jeremy, you and I've read you think about
Genesis three, okay, and you know, God he spank Satan
and I mean, and he punished Satan, and he also
looked him in the eye, and Adam and Eve were there,
and he said, I'm gonna right the wrong that you did.
(12:29):
I'm sending somebody. You don't know who he is. You
don't know when he's coming, on what he looks like,
where it's going to be, but he's coming. And and
then of course he punished Adam and Eve I mean,
and and cast them out. I mean, so there was
a punishment for their for their uh, you know, not
not not following him. And then Satan knew that someone
(12:53):
was coming, and he spent the whole Old Testament. He
figured out all what's coming from the line of Judah,
you know all the and and and Satan tried to
get in the way of that lineage to where that
person wouldn't come In two thousand years ago, Jesus came
and Satan, you know, the second that Jesus died, Satan failed.
(13:14):
And when Jesus resurrected, God celebrated, right uh, and and
we we have our way to be back one with
Christ or with God through Christ. And then the coolest
thing happened. Guess what Holy Spirit comes? We're to May
totally knew. So Satan had to shift his focus. He
(13:35):
shifted his focus from disrupting that line to Christ. And
now his focus is these Christians that come around, they
can't grow anymore. I don't want them knowing exactly what
happened to them upon their belief in Jesus. And he's
doing everything in his power to distract us from what
is in us and our knowledge and of that power,
(13:59):
that boldness, that confidence, and things like that. And that's
why you know our pastor yesterday at our church last night,
at the prayer meeting we had over the church, just
said our church has now grown where we're in the
top point five percent of churches in the country and
we got all these amazing plans, and guess what the
attacks are happening now because he does not want anything
(14:21):
else happening and any more people understanding who Christ is.
Sorry for the long districtant. That's right, and what he's
trying to.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Do, isn't that how he when he tempted Jesus in
the wilderness, he was like, if you are the son
of God, right, then you know, turn these stones into bread.
Like he's always coming against our identity, and I think
it's interesting how identity in our culture has really been attacked.
I mean, there's people who don't know where they are,
they don't know what gender they are, they don't know
there's so much confusion. So I think that's the number
(14:48):
one thing that he attacks us with, is our identity
and just planting lies in our head.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
And what's working.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
What's the best way to plant doubt in your head?
Get a loved one pissed off at you, right? I mean,
my brother Caleb calling this morning and he's got some
major friction in his house. He is trying to use
the fam. He is using the family against our brother
right now in a major way. And he finds there's
love between the family. Everybody loves each other. Yeah, but
(15:17):
how does he get that butt in there and work?
Speaker 6 (15:20):
When Satan tempted Jesus and said, bow down on me,
and I will give you all the kingdoms of the world,
they were his to give.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Yeah, right, I was reading the John Piper thing this morning,
and he said, yeah, all these I will give you.
He took up to the high mountain, he showed him everything.
Adam handed dominion of the world to Satan. He handed
to him on a silver pa and and Satan tries
to tries to pump. That's well, We're going to have
(15:52):
a whole Adam and Eve discussion at other times. But uh, anyway, Yeah, So,
as Christians, where do we stand in this? Does he
have any power over us? Why do we give him
so much credit? If we have the same spirit that
(16:12):
raised Christ from the dead living inside of us, how
do we navigate this? The devil made me do it versus.
A temptation was planted thereby, but I wasn't focused on
the right things, and I made the decision on my
own to go there to do the bad.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
I think people, it's such a easy excuse to say
the devil made me do it.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Right.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
The reality is we have free will. God doesn't take
that away at any point in time. We always have
a choice. You can choose to do what you're being
tempted with, or you can choose not to do it.
And for Christians, we have a Holy Helper that kind
of says nudges us along the way and says, hey,
don't do that, or hey, you did that, but that
wasn't cool. Don't do it again, like and you feel
like crap, right. I mean for the non Christian, he
(17:02):
still got choice, still got free will, but you don't
have the Holy Helper in there saying, hey, that's a
bad decision. So the world feels a lot easier and
better for the non Christian. I mean, it's that simple
in my head. We make a choice. Every time you
do something, no matter good or bad, you're making a
free will choice. And God gives you that free will
for a reason, and it's your decisions.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
You know.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
Satan took his power from Adam and Eve. They gave
it to him. Yeah, and so he's had it all
these two thousands of years till the Cross and Colossians
two fifteen. He having canceled out the certificate of debt
consisting of legal demands which were in forced against us
(17:46):
and which were hostile to us. And this certificate he's
so aside and completely removed by nailing it to the
cross when he had disarmed the rulers authorities. It was
supernatural forces of evil operating against us. He made a
public example of them, exhibiting them as captives in his
triumphal procession, having triumph over them through the cross. That's nailed.
(18:08):
They were nailed at the cross. That's that. You know,
the the New Testament doesn't begin at Matthew. The New
Testament and the New Covenant begins at the Cross. And Jesus,
what's that took the keys of death, hell and the grave?
I've always heard that took those keys away from Satan.
He is operating from the time up until the cross
(18:30):
in that authority. He's got it. It's his. But now
as believers, as people that confess with our mouth that
Jesus's Lord and believe in our heart that God raises
raised him from the dead, he can't touch us. Satan
acts on what we say. He's not omnippotent, he's not
(18:52):
on the president. He doesn't know, you know, He can't
read our minds, but he acts on what we say.
And I said, hey, I want to talk about Satan.
And we have been talking about this for a couple
of weeks, you know, and then all of a sudden,
I'm getting the crab beat on it. Man, some things
are happening spiritually Friday that just blew my mind and
brought back a lot of bitterness, right, And so Satan's like, Okay,
(19:18):
you're gonna talk about me. I'm gonna talk about I'm
going to bring back all that garbage that you that
you dealt with. And that's exactly what happened, because I've
verbally said it. But I knew as because I know
who I am in Christ now, and I knew where
it was coming from, and I knew what authority I
could take, and that was I rebuke you in the
name of Jesus. And it it's subsided. And so now
(19:40):
here we are talking about it.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
Do you think about every time we've uh, we've talked
about this before. Every time it seems like we start
getting on these great paths and life's going great, and
we're starting to really make an impact for the Kingdom,
not for the world, but for the kingdom. All of
a sudden something happens. Every time you start really making strides,
all of a sudden, you know, the arrows are gonna come,
I mean, and it's just a matter of do you
(20:03):
have the shield up and are you focused where you
need to be focused and are you doing it for
the right reasons? And you know, and then it just
works itself out. But that time where you're figuring out
if it's going to work out, that sucks, yeah, I mean,
And that's what it really does, until you finally just say, hey,
I know you got me. This sucks, but I've got
(20:25):
peace and sucked and you know what is it? The
Navy seals say, embrace the suck. Oh yeah, yeah. It's
like until you embrace the suck, you know, then ah,
you don't have peace in it, you know what I mean? Like,
sometimes you just got to embrace the suck and know
you're going to be good.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
Because every good and perfect gift comes from the Father
of Lights. So none of this is God isn't tempting us.
It doesn't come from him, and we know that, and.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
So as Christians we should be able to differentiate that
right exactly.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Romans eight seventeen says in fact, together with Christ, we
are heirs of god glory. But if we are to
share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet
what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory
He will reveal to us later. So I think sometimes
we're talking about do we give the devil too much
credit if we're sharing in Christ's sufferings. Sometimes we say, well,
(21:17):
that's the devil attacking me, when really it's sharing in
christ sufferings. And sometimes there's just you know, God allows
us to go through things too, regardless of the source
of our suffering or attack or whatever it is, God's
going to redeem it.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
You know, we talked, was it last week about how
God explicitly talked to all these people in the Old Testament,
So it was a it was a one on one
back then. You know, I don't know if they're.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Yeah, But what I'm saying is like the reason you
can rebuke and maybe I'm wrong, and you guys can
correct me here publicly it's fine. But the way I
understand it is because we're made perfect in Christ, right,
And that's a good point. We now can we now
actually have the control right like.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
Yeah, you know, and dying to your sins and nailing
your record or debt to the cross. He disarmed the
rules and authorities and put them to open shame by
triumphant over them in him. He disarmed them by nailing
our record or debt to the cross. Because Satan's power
is Satan's only power is that he's a great accuser.
And I take a lot of confidence and that the
(22:19):
only thing he can do is accuse me. The only
thing he can do is bring up my past or
make me regret things. That's the only thing, you know,
he can. He can put the beautiful woman in front
of me and I can undress her with my eyes,
or I can do something. But he creates that tension
right well.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
In the Michaels Michael's point earlier, Adam and Eve pretty
much gave over dominion the earth to Satan because he
tricked them, not because he made them do it. No,
but he got in their head and they listened and
they questioned a good question, and then they just like
they were tricked into it. But he didn't make him
do it, like he had no physical power over them.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
Now, and how long did they walk with God on
a regular basis, man, they knew the person of God
the because he walked with them. Yeah, so I'm sure
it was a.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
They're the only humans that ever could be in the
presence of God as God's got a point, I mean,
because they were the only perfect humans until they screwed
it up.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
And that's my whole point. They knew him to the
point of the same way we know Christ now and
who is God? To Father, God is spirit, so we
know him, we walk with him, we know his voice
when we read the Word, and that's that's imperative to understand.
You've got to be in the word, to to hear,
to know the Father's voice. You have to because when
(23:40):
we are getting bombarded with stuff. And Friday, guys, was
a bitch for me. I told you, I'm going to
share this. My sister had paranoid schizophrenia from a very
young age high school and so taking somebody to get help. Friday,
I'm listening to the boys on a drive as a
(24:02):
twelve year old going down to the state hospital in
Indiana to take my sister, listening to the break that
she had had, and I was like, it brought back
so much crap, and I was like and I wept,
and I'm sitting in the driveway and I hear the
song by the Afters and I don't know if you've
heard it, it's called well Done. And I just started
(24:23):
weeping because I was like, f this, man, I don't
I got I can't do this. And I heard that
song and I just okay, thank you, and I cried.
And that was God's way of saying I mean, it
was instant as soon as I because I didn't have
(24:44):
the radio home on the way back, I had it
on the way down to try and help my brother
just listen to praise and worship because he was just
getting the crap beat out of him.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
And so.
Speaker 6 (24:55):
As soon as I turned the radio on, that song started,
and it was God's way of just saying, dude, I
got you here for a reason, and you're doing what
you're supposed to do. I know it's hard.
Speaker 5 (25:06):
I think God talks to us through the radio a lot,
I really do. I remember when Dad passed, and you know,
I was starting very early in my journey. We had
just started going back to church before he passed, and
every time I got in the truck, one of six
point three was on. Didn't matter what I left left
on like I could have been on the country station,
and like changed it. And then when I got back
in and turned the truck back on, one of six
(25:28):
point three was on. It was every time. And I'm
a firm believer that God talks to us through songs
and and through you know.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
All dreams, visions, music.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Yeah, I think it happens all the time, and it's
and for whatever reason, whatever song it is it comes
on is always the perfect one in that moment when
you need it. You know, it's a for you. It
was this one, right, But I mean Zach Williams was
mine a lot, you know, it just it just depends
on which one. But it just seems like, I don't know,
I think those are the kind of the godwinks that
I love. Is that like because it's tangible, right, Like
some stuff's just so intangible. But when he when he
(26:00):
turned the radio and it's the perfect song, whether it's
Christian or secular, either way, that's to me, that's God
talking to us.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
First, John says this and that the last three words
of this passage kind of hit me and helps me,
what I want to say, compartmentalize things a little bit.
He says, little children, you are from God and have
(26:27):
overcome them. That's the world. For he who is in
you is greater than he who is in the world.
They are from the world. Therefore they speak from the world,
and the world listens to them. We are from God.
Whoever knows God listens to us. Whoever is not from
God does not listen to us. By this, we know
(26:50):
the spirit of truth. And get this, the spirit of error,
the spirit of the spirit of error. I just think
that's kind of profound to think about. It's this is
something I can't get my hands around. I physically can't
do anything about it. The Holy Spirit of God lives
(27:10):
inside of me, raised Christ from the dead. I know
the spirit of truth. And whatever seed that Satan is
trying to plant or bringing up a memory or making me,
you know, harbor anger or my pride is not allowing
me to sift through things. I know. That's a that's
(27:30):
a spirit of error, and that's where Satan wants us
to be. Is always in a spirit of error. Does
that make sense? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Yeah, that's a boy.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
That's a tricky thing to navigate because I think it
has seen some influential Christian people that have said things
that were like, I don't agree with that, Like that
seems way off. They used to be really solid in
their doctrine. Now they're saying things that I don't know
that just seem current with our culture or woke or
whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
To call it.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Is that a spirit of error or you know, I mean,
is that something? Is that my spirit going? I don't
know about that.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
Is that spirit of truth or a spirit of error? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:09):
And I mean that's that's an interesting term. A spirit
of error.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
Yeah, I definitely have to and I really thick on that,
what that means, what that looks like.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
I just know, I know, I know he or his
minions have been attacking me the past six eight weeks,
and I've got some health issues. I'm not saying they
planted the health issues there, but there's other things that
could have rolled into that. Our mental health is a
huge piece of everything we do. So anytime we harbor
a lot of stress, we harbor a lot of anxieties,
(28:37):
things like that, guess what your health's gonna suffer. You're
gonna lose your energy level. You're not going to have
your psyche to get up, get going, which is going
to cost things you know, and that just it's how
it's how it works. And and I know the past
six weeks two months, I've got I felt a lot
of anger. I felt a lot of frustration. I felt
(28:58):
some betrayal. I felt a lot of regret. When I
get a sense of regret happen without all the other stuff.
It's easy for me to identify and say that ain't
coming from me. But it seems like I got five
or six of these fear, anger, sadness, all these things
coming at one time. Dude, it's tough to overcome. And
(29:18):
that's got to be a spirit thing. And that's just
showing error in my thought process. Is that I'm covered
in the blood, the spirit that raised Christ on the
dead's in me. That has no power over me anymore.
Why can't I shake that? I blame Satan or I
say screw you, Satan. I can't help that.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
There's certain things in life that I'm going to be
it I'm gonna look at or think of or see.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
I just it is what it is.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
But you know, one of the things is like how
you frame it up and how you're going to react
to it. So like you know, we've talked about when
you see a woman and it's like it's not the
first thought, it's a second thought, right, So like I'm
trained myself to be like, man, she's pretty, right, and
then my second thought is, man, you need a good job,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (30:02):
And I saw a whole Larry David episode on that
was funny.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Yeah, but I mean it's some of the stuff. It's like,
you just have to retrain yourself. So when Satan goes
to taunt you, it's like, because you know his his
thing is, man, she's pretty, wouldn't you like to have
her right?
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Right?
Speaker 5 (30:17):
And so instead of letting him have time to say it,
I'm like, hey, man, good work, you know, And like
it just keeps my mind clean.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Right. He just disarmed You just disarmed that thought.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
And then you thank God for your wife. Yeah, she's
with you.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
I think back to your point, when you don't feel
good about who you are as a believer, you need
you need to go with God where God says about you.
You are the righteousness of God.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
I have it. I'm walking I'm walking with that righteousness
that walked on this or two thousand years ago.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
I'm walking it right now. Well, and do you just
take time. We just did a Bible study about this,
and one of the things that talked about was ten
minute prayers, like just sitting ten minutes in silence prayer,
listening to what God has to say to you, right?
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Or are we so consume that we just.
Speaker 5 (31:06):
Pray and pray and read and pray and read and pray,
but then we never actually listen for the voice that's
in us, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Like I do that.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
I mean, I'm open and honest, I know I do
it sometimes like, hey man, I got to pray real quick,
I know it's that time. Let me get this in
all right, thanks sea, going to the next you know,
and it becomes a checkbox versus like what it's meant
to be, which is a conversation with God.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
You know.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
So are we having a conversation with him or are
we just praying to him getting it.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
Out spiritual vending machine? Give me what I want God? Yeah,
I'm going to put in this little prayer. I'm guilty
of that absolutely, you know.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
And Satan knows that we're a force to be reckoned
with when when we are the righteousness of God and
he knows it and what he wants literally, how else
can he get back at God them what we do
as far as sin, Yeah, but or the guilt, the
(31:58):
garbage that he places on us when we know who
we are in Christ, when we truly know it. We've
told the guys, We've told them multiple times. We get
frustrated when they don't know it. They keep saying, yeah,
but what about this? What about that? What about this?
When they truly know who they are in Christ? It's
a win, guys. It is so powerful because I just
piss this Satan off, and and when we know that
(32:22):
our past sins, our future sins, if we don't live
in that condemnation anymore, it's powerful.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
We're teaching the kids how to hit in football, and
I told him the other day, I said, hey, listen,
we're going to hit if nothing else, We're going to
hit and hit and hit. And we might not win
every game, but they'll never feel like they won. And
that's what Satan's doing, is he's trying to make it
feel like you haven't won.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
And you have right. You know.
Speaker 6 (32:46):
That's a good analogy.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
Well, the phone call I had with brother Caleb this
morning from Kentucky, and he shared with me an incident
that he had family argument type thing and he didn't
handle it well, really fractured a relationship and made a
couple of bad decisions. And it was his brother that
(33:07):
circled up with him. And he said, he called me
and it was one of those deals where he and
I could not time get talking to each other, right.
But his brother actually he said, I had a great
chat with my brother. And I said, oh, it was
a good chat, and he goes, yep, I said, tell
me about the chat, and he goes. He spoke light
(33:29):
and life over me. He reminded me who I am.
He reminded me all these other things have no power
because of my identity as a Christian man. And I
needed to verbally hear those words from somebody. And that's
the key thing. Anytime anyone reaches out to us via email, text,
or whatever, we just try to speak light and life
(33:52):
over you, because that's light is what you are when
you believe in Christ. And he said it totally disarmed
all bad feelings, the tension and everything else. Let me
rethink through. Okay, I've got this conflict with this person.
I need to set some healthy boundaries. I want to
show this person grace. But I don't necessarily have to
(34:13):
be hanging with them that much anymore. And I can
live this life even though this person lives on my
block and I pass their house every day. You know.
But speaking in you know, Holy Spirit, a lot of
people think the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sin. Well,
if you're not a believer, yeah, the Holy Spirit does.
But once you believe, the Holy Spirit is the one
(34:34):
that convicts you of your righteousness and who you truly
are and helps you realize that that sin is not
who you are. And this brother, Caleb heard that from
another man a couple of days ago. That really helped
him reset his bar that that stuff has no power
over me because of the boldness I have living inside
(34:55):
of me. And that was a great way for me
to start the week because I've been feeling like I've
been being beaten up as well. Caleb, brother, and your
words to me really struck me as I was getting
ready to come in here for the podcast. Do we
really do? We really turn to Christ and say was
it nailed to the cross or not? Those nails went
(35:17):
through his hands and to the cross, and they weren't
coming off until they were physically pried away after he died.
Was our was that was our junk nailed to the
cross or not? And that's the underlying point of who
we are on everything we do. M sorry for preaching.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
All the all the lies and everything that that Satan
tries to give us. Were nailed on that cross tray.
They were, and we know that he has no legal
right over our life.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Not a bit. The verse in Corinthians says, you have
been washed, which is forgiven. You have been set aside.
I'd made holy, and you have been justified. You are justified.
You are one with God because God is legal according
to that Old Testament, and every legal thing was made true.
(36:14):
Your speeding tickets, your failure to pay your taxes or
was all forgiven? Boom done.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
That's my favorite way of looking at is your fines
have been paid upfront. Yeah, this past, present, and future sins.
And I know a lot of people will argue the
future sin part. I disagree wholeheartedly, because otherwise we'd all
go to hell.
Speaker 6 (36:36):
Well, we'd have to keep crucifying him, we'd have to
keep putting him back on the cross. If that wasn't
the truth.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (36:42):
It doesn't give me a license to go out there
and just be an idiot, but.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
It empowers you to want to walk a more righteous walk.
Speaker 5 (36:49):
Yeah. Well, and when I make a mistake, I don't
feel that. I feel the guilt, but it's more of
the conviction of Hey, that's not.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
Who you are.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
That's repentance, but it's more of a but then I
have the peace of Hey, you don't have to worry
about it, you know what I mean. And I think
that's the piece that.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Like say, it'll let you beat yourself up over it. Yeah,
and then all of a sudden you're doubting it.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
Hebrews two fourteen. Let me finish with this as far
as on my notes. Therefore, since these his children sharing
flesh and blood the physical nature of mankind, he himself,
in a similar manner, also shared in the same physical nature,
but without sin. That's the one I wanted to bring up.
Jesus didn't sin. We've heard those reels with the alphabet people.
(37:33):
He didn't sin, so that through experiencing death he might
make powerless, ineffective, impotent him or impotent him who had
the power of death. That is the devil.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
There's no power anymore, he has none.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Yeah, that's a powerful thing. You mentioned earlier tray about
the guy who just started speaking the truth over somebody
instead of I don't know, I guess trying to figure
it out, or just saying, you know, I am the
righteousness of Christ, the head and not the tail. I'm
above or not beneath. Just quoting the truth of scripture,
just saying it out loud, even if you know, with
a with a brother or somebody else who's struggling.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
That's a really powerful thing to do.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
And you know, because all Satan's doing is just trying
to he's trying to lie, he's trying to isolate you,
He's just trying to get you to dwell on things
that aren't true. So man, when you speak that truth
out loud like that and there's yourself for over somebody else,
that's that's a huge The best we can not about
that well, and.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
It's important for people to know. And I'm I'm probably
i am the worst at this table about it is
making time to read the Bible and do a study
and like, because you can't speak truth if you don't
know the truth right, you know what I mean, you
have to read it so you can recite it like
it's not And I know this. I believe this. Every
time I read the same passage, I see something different. Yeah,
it's all how God's talking to me while I'm reading it.
(38:51):
But you got to read it to be able to
recite it right.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
And that's and that's the whole thing we talked about
with you know, Satan's tactic. I mean, he failed at
preventing Jesus from coming. And every time that you feel like,
you know, I need to get into the word, he
goes into overdrive to create. He goes into overdrive to
throw out speed bumps for you to actually open up
(39:16):
that book. And because he doesn't want you understanding the
power of it. He danger doesn't want you reading any
of Paul's letters that just cut to the heart of
who you are as a Christian man today and what
happened to you. He doesn't want you understanding something happened
to you. He wants you to continue just feeling like
God's on the throne. Okay, okay, okay, and I'm going
(39:38):
to continue to do it my way. A lot of
people admit to that, you know. And instead of going
God's not only on the throne, he is, He's under
my nine scar on my chest. Afterrom open heart surgery.
Every morning I look after I shower at this scar
on my chest, and I feel like the Holy Spirit
of God is right inside of there. He don't want
you knowing that. He doesn't want you knowing that at all.
(40:00):
Satan doesn't want you reading any of Paul's words about
the finished work of the Christ. He doesn't want you
reading any of Peter's words in his epistle. He don't
want you reading the Book of Acts and how the
church grew. And he's going to do everything he can
to keep you our church from growing even more, to
reach a even more people. Our pastor last night gave
a great description of that in the prayer session that
(40:21):
they called together for the team leaders and the leaders
leadership of our church, of how Satan has been trying
to insert himself into the growth of our church and
things like that. And if you think about it, he's right.
He don't want he don't want to happen there about
thirty acres. He don't want anything happening there. Further, we've
already done enough damage to him there.
Speaker 6 (40:41):
So how do we, back to Brad's point, get people
to understand and realize that they are the righteousness of God.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
See, I think that's our mistake, right, I think that
that's satan right there?
Speaker 4 (40:57):
How do we get?
Speaker 5 (41:00):
But he said, I think that's But you know, when
you talk about your friend that you're helping and how
bad his situation is, you can't do anything but be there.
Speaker 4 (41:07):
I know.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
But it's you can plant the seed, you can be nice,
you can help him out. However, he can just speak light,
speak light. But it's not until they make this conscious
decision to accept Christ into their hearts that anything will
actually change.
Speaker 6 (41:21):
Well, he's he has, but the frustration is he doesn't
know who he is in Christ.
Speaker 5 (41:27):
But I hear you, but it's just our jobs are
not to make that happen, right, Our job is to
you know, light and truth.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
Right, they plant the seed and you know that Jesus
is going to give him a revelation somehow.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
Yeah, And the good news is if he's accepted Christ,
he never has the revelation and he dies, he's going
to heaven and he'll have it. Then you know, like
it's all in God's time that revelation.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
Might The revelation hit me in twenty ten, and that
was after forty something years of professing to be a Christian,
you know, and uh heavy stuff. I'm glad you brought
this up. Timing of it's pretty uh pretty right on
spot time. And we got we got, we got the playbook.
(42:12):
We know what Satan tries. I had a professor.
Speaker 5 (42:14):
He used to tell us that because he he didn't
give a crap. But doctor zeits, I don't even know
if he's still lived. Like football, No, he loved football. Yeah,
but he didn't keep He had preached in all of
his classes, and he told us every class he said,
you know what the Bible is his basis constructions before
leaving Earth.
Speaker 4 (42:29):
Yeah, and I b l e. Yeah, any you think
about we know his playbook. We know he's going to
use scripture to try to deceive us like he did
with Jesus. We know he's going to attack the family
like he did with Adam and Eve. We know he's
going to attack the mind. I E. Thenew, you know
the renewing of your mind through the Holy Spirit. We
(42:49):
know where where he's going to attack. And and us
understanding and being confident that the blood of Jesus was enough,
those nails in the cross didn't come out and we
fell off the cross. That were nailed there, and it's permanent,
and our salvation and us being sealed and Christ is permanent.
He doesn't want to know us knowing that, so we
(43:10):
know his playbook and what he's going to do. It's
just a matter of us just having the wherefore all
and the mental mindset and going with our heart and
listening to the spirit to be able to combat it.
Speaker 6 (43:19):
That's why I love the full armor of God. Scripture
put on the full arm of God, you know, and
when we do that, you know, the blessed breastplate goes
that list begin the breastplate of righteousness. Okay, when we
know that, okay, and everything. If you look at the
(43:40):
Armor of God, everything's frontal, so you don't you're not
turning your back to the enemy. You you have everything
in front of you to be able to withstand everything
that comes at you.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
And the only offensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit.
Everything else is defensive, the right, the shield of faith
and all those things. But this word of the Spirit, like,
that's the offensive weapon. That's the thing that you use
against him to strike him. So getting the.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
Word, yeah, there you go. Yeah, we we win by
the power of the blood of the lamb and the
word of our testimony. And the last piece just on
that that passage from Ephesians about the armor. If you
break that down, you look at all of those pieces,
all of those pieces is an attribute to Jesus.
Speaker 6 (44:25):
No, that's true.
Speaker 4 (44:26):
So us knowing Christ the armor is there. We just
got to be iron man and push the button to
make that all the all that stuff uppear and just
you know, lean into that. And because every piece of
that body armor isn't is an attribute to Jesus christ Son.
Speaker 6 (44:42):
Satan's not in hell. Yeah, we know that from the word.
Speaker 4 (44:45):
He's walking.
Speaker 6 (44:46):
He's walking, and he's got to walk.
Speaker 4 (44:48):
A long way. If he's not omnipresent, he could be
like in China and then had to get over here
real quick to jack.
Speaker 6 (44:54):
With you plane. Well, he could guess first question and
he's a good looking.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
Dude, yeah, and he can say there you go. Yeah,
the most beautiful angel Satan on a plane?
Speaker 6 (45:04):
Look out is that like snakes on a plane?
Speaker 4 (45:06):
Exactly song Getting Drunk on a Plane That was that
was a classic country too long ago. Uh. I'm glad
we're having the convo. Man. So as guys, as your

you're going to be saying you had a good trip

year and we met him on that cruise. Kevin Horning
and I met him on that cruise when we were
in Victoria and we had a God moment when we
were there with him. And he's been following us and
he's very instrumental in his church up there. We love him.

Blooper reel together, you have to come back to this
one when Trey says, did they nail.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
My giant across?
Speaker 5 (46:47):
I know it was such a good moment.
Speaker 4 (46:49):
I wasn't. I didn't even know I said that.
Speaker 6 (46:55):
I know.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
Well, we'll have that altro
