Welcome to Day 16, family! Today we’re leaning in to the beautiful truth that, in Christ, every single day is a brand-new beginning. Our past doesn’t define us, because in Him, our future is filled with hope and new possibilities!
Backstory:
Have you ever wished for a fresh start? Life gets messy, we make mistakes, and sometimes the burden of yesterday feels overwhelming. But when we surrender our lives to Jesus, His love wipes away our old history. Our identity is no longer found in who we used to be—it’s found in who we are becoming, because of His grace. God specializes in new beginnings; it’s His love language!
Lesson: In Christ, We Are Made New
The moment we say “yes” to Jesus, God does an incredible transformation in our hearts. We are not just fixed, we are made new—reborn spiritually. Our story is rewritten. No matter what your yesterday looked like, today is a new page. God gives you permission to start fresh.
Short Story / Illustration:
There once was a young woman named Maya who carried heavy regrets from her past—poor decisions, broken relationships, missed opportunities. She felt burdened and unworthy, wearing shame like a cloak, never allowing herself to dream of new chapters. One Sunday, Maya heard a message at church about God’s forgiveness. The pastor read, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). In that quiet moment, Maya prayed honestly for the first time, surrendering her burdens to Christ. A peace flooded her heart and, for the first time, she truly believed she was forgiven and free—her slate wiped clean. As Maya grew in her journey with Jesus, she discovered that God wasn’t just erasing her old mistakes, but actually giving her a new sense of self. When she read, “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3), a light bulb turned on in her heart. Maya realized she was no longer “the one who messed up”—she was God’s beloved daughter, created for more. Her new identity was now found in Christ, not in her past. One day, Maya faced a challenging situation but remembered a verse her mentor shared: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). Instead of shrinking back in fear, Maya trusted God’s promise that He was doing something new inside her. Each morning, she woke with hope, knowing God was writing a fresh story over her life. Thanks for reading Da Visionary Queen Angela Thomas Smith ! This post is public so feel free to share it.
