So I'm go go ahead and get started.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
First, I'm going to start off with the prayer and
then we're going to go straight into the devotion for
this morning, y'all. So, Father God, in the name of Jesus,
what I thank you for yet another day that was
not promised me. Lord God, thank you for another opportunity
that I can come before your people and share that
that you have placed within me. And Lord God Father,
I thank you right now for just what you're doing
in each and every one of our lives.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well, God, I thank you for.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Another opportunity that we can impact lives, that we can
do something that we can get to do on Yesterday,
that we can walk into our destiny that we can
catch up with our destiny that you have already preordained
for us. So Father asked that you decrease me in
the flesh for God and allow your spirit man to
come forth and share that that you have placed on
my heart. On today, Lord God Father, I thank you
(03:55):
for every opportunity that we can share your goodness and
allow your glory to shine. And this is asking your
son Jesus name. Amen, Amen, Amen, this morning we are y'all.
We are day number twelve. We're day number twelve. In
today's lesson is hope in his promise it's going to
(04:16):
be coming out of Second Peter's Chapter three, verse number nine.
He says the Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you,
not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Again Second Peter's Chapter three, verse nine, it says the
(04:41):
Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some
understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting
anyone to perish, but everyone to come in repentnans y'all.
He want us to repent, turn from our wicked ways,
and turn to him so y'all, we're gonna jump on
(05:01):
in this lesson on this morning, and I hope you
guys will grab some nuggets and take it with you
on today. So again I have read our scripture for today.
Our affirmation for today is hold I hold hope in
the promises of God, hope and the promises of God.
(05:23):
The word of to day is long suffering, meaning God's patience,
long tempered restraints, and mercy even in the face of
delay provocation. As we see in Teco Peter's three and nine,
the word patient is the idea of God's choosing mercy
over immediate judgment so more people can turn to him.
(05:47):
Why it matters. God's timing is not tardiness, it is mercy.
His patience gives us hope, fuels our repentance, and shapes
how we treat others. A little backstory on tewod Peter
three and nine. Traditionally, Aver attributed to Apostle Peter, one
(06:10):
of Jesus' closest disciples, to address the believers who have
obtained who obtained a faith of equal standings, likely scattered
across Asia.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
What was the message? It was a.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Pastoral letter confronting false teachers skol first, who marked the
promises of Christ's return and the reassurance of believers that
God's promised stand and He's seeming delay is purposeful. Know
that his seeming delay is purpose So when did this
(06:50):
take place? It took place around AD sixty four to
sixty eight AD. Comeonly dated near the end of Peter's life,
during a period of increasing persecution and confusion within the church.
Where did this take Where did this happen? Likely written
(07:12):
in Rome, where tradition holds Peter ministered and was martyred.
Peter countered the narrative that nothing is happening by lifting
believers eyes to God's characters, his faithfulness, his patience, and justice,
(07:34):
and cause the church to holy living while we wait.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
God delay is mercy. It's not neglect.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
What looks like slowness is God's heart making room for salvation.
He desired all his people to be saved. God's kindness
is meant to lead us to repentance. He hopes to
grow us when we see things through his mercy and
(08:08):
through his eyes. God's promises are anchored in his character.
Promises are only as strong as the one who speak them.
Hear that promises are only strong as the one who
speak them. God cannot lie, and he never changes. Hebrews
(08:30):
ten and twenty three he says, he who promised is faithful,
He who promised is faithful. He also tells us in
Corinthians one in twenty he say, all the promises of
God find their yes in Christ. All the promises of
God find there yes in Christ. Our hope is not
(08:53):
wishful thinking. It is settled trust in the faithful God.
We got to know that God is true. His word
is not going to return to us what and he
is yet faithful. He's going to do just what he
said he would do. Hope in his promises. It feels
a holy living and it helps us fulfill the missions
(09:16):
that He have us on. We didn't get dropped out
of the sky. Understand that waiting well looks like purity.
Purpose and proclamation two Peter three eleven and twelve is
say live holy in godly lives as you wait. That
mean you can't be y' all over the place doing
whatever you want to do, but you got to live holy.
(09:38):
You got to live a godly life. We gotta, we
gotta were not perfect, and we understand that we're not
perfect people, but he created us in his image.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
So everything that we.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Do, y'all, it should point back to the one that
created us. It should bring God glory. Even though he's
told us that it's working together for are good, it
should bring him glory. That dash that we have. We
know that we have a birthday, and we know that
we're going to have an end date. We know that
one day we're gonna leave here. But have we done
the things that we're supposed to do while we have
(10:12):
the chance to do that? We are we living in
his image because he created us in his image, So
that means we are in his likeness, and that we're
in his likeness, that means that we are supposed to
be showing up and we're supposed to be exhibiting those things.
So are you Do you look like parity? Do you
(10:34):
look like purpose? Do you look like proclamation? Do you
look like those things that He has spoken over our lives?
How are you living up to him today? Are you
living a holy life? Are you living godly?
Speaker 2 (10:50):
While you wait?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Because a lot of us, we say we're waiting for
this to happen. We're waiting for this to happen. We
want to get right before we go to church with
Guess what, You're never going to be right because we
are not perfect people. We got to understand that expectation
shapes efforts. Hope makes us steady, shining and active. You
(11:14):
woke up this morning, that means he extended his grace
and his mercy. He gave you another chance. So that
means that you have hope to be able to do
something that He's called and purpose you to do in
this day. Because we're not promised tomorrow, so today we
should focus on today the things that we're supposed to
be doing in today. Are you impacting lives today? Are
(11:39):
you trusting him today? Are you walking in faith on today?
And are you doing the work behind that faith so
that it can manifest in your life? So how can
we apply this to our life? How can we apply
(12:00):
this scripture to our life? How can we apply that
we are to keep his promise and that we're to
wait on his world?
Speaker 2 (12:08):
So first.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
We got an nercy for the not yet? So how
do we do that?
Speaker 2 (12:17):
First?
Speaker 1 (12:18):
You can write down three people who haven't turned to Christ.
Do you know three people that that that that need
to that need to turn to Christ? That has not
accepted the Lord Jesus as their savior. Have do you
know three people that could could strengthen their walk with Christ.
(12:43):
We must align with God patient heart, participating in his
promise and keeping it. That means every morning you should
be spending time with Him before you go out and
conquer this world.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Because guess what, if we're.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Putting something in us, then when we face challenges, when
when disappointment, when let downs, when when all these things
come at us, y'all, we have something that we can
give back, something that we can apply, something that we
can speak over our life. Because He's told us over
and over Proverbs eighteen and twenty one, I think eighteen
(13:21):
and sixteen over there in Proverbs, he's told us that
we have the power to speak life or death. I
choose to speak life because I choose to allow these
bones to live, because I know that there's something that
I'm supposed to be doing.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
He woke me up this morning.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
It wasn't a coincidence, it wasn't an accident. He purposely
woke me up this morning because he had a plan
for me to do something in this day. Just like you, you,
you and everyone that will see this, Whether they're seeing
it live or they're seeing it as a replay. Know
that it's not a coat an incident. It's not an accident.
It's not that happenstance. It was strategically ordain before the
(14:05):
creation of time, before you were even thought of, before
you were even conceived in your mother's womb. He knew
that this day would be this day. He knew that
I would be on this podcast. He knew that I
would be sharing his word. He knew that I would
have this book. He knew everything about me. He even
know the things that I'm gonna do tomorrow, the next day,
to day after until he take me from this place.
(14:30):
But will I humble myself? Will I allow myself to
walk into those things? So I asked you today, I
ask you today, are you aligning with those things that
He's purpose for you? Do you know your purpose? You
(14:52):
gotta practice the promises of anchored in obedience. He's given
us the Bible, that is the basic instructions before leaving Earth.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
And if you read through.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
There, everything that has happened in the Bible, y'all, it's
gonna happen, and it's happening in our life. If it
happened happening in our life. It's happened before us, It's
gonna happen again. It's just a repeat. There's nothing new
under the sun. We may be just seeing it in
a different, different, different way because as the world evolved,
(15:29):
we are evolving, and we can look back at how
the world is evolving and understand that.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
It's not changing.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
We may not see people walking on water, but God
is still fulfilling miracles. He is still sitting on the throne,
and he's still moving in our lives. You see individuals
that have been delivered and set free from drug addiction.
You see people that have been released from prison. You
see people that have been delivered from from from from
all kinds of things, that have been set free from cancer,
(16:00):
that have survived strokes, that have survived different things. That
He might not be raising people literally how we like
he did latter risks, but just think people are having strokes, people.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Are or are are.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Going being put on incubators and being put on life
support machines, and then you see them come back alife.
I remember when I received that phone call telling me
that that found my brother, my oldest brother, on side
of the road, that someone had left him to die.
(16:42):
And when we went to when I finally got to
the hospital to see him, because I was in another state.
But when I finally got to the hospital to see him,
the doctors were prepared me and they told me. They said, well,
with the mint of things that my brother had endured,
(17:03):
the things that he went through and suffered through, they
had to put him in a induced coma. And they said,
and when when he wake up, and if he woke up,
that he may be a vegetable, that he may not
know nobody, He may not you may not.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Be able to understand what he's saying. Well, I waited.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
I think it was three days before I finally decided
to come home, go home to South Carolina and visit
with my brother. When I did, he had woke up.
And that day I walked into the room. You know,
everybody had prepared me. They told me they couldn't understand
(17:47):
what he was saying. But when I walked in that room,
my brother always called me.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Big head.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
He called me by the head because he always he said,
I had my head and I had body, because y'all,
at that time, I think I may have been in
sized twelve and my head is still the same size
that I think I may have been a size twelve
at that time, so my head was a little bit,
but that was the nickname that he had for me.
My brother knew who I was. When they said that
(18:20):
he wasn't gonna be able to speak, that he may
not recognize me. All those things that they said he
was not gonna be able to do, he did. And
that was a miracle inside itself. So when we're looking
for men walking on water and we're looking for God
to raise people from the dead like Lattis, that is
(18:40):
that may not be happening in our time, but He's
yet performing miracles. We have a prayer call that we've
been on for the last six years. I've watched people
set free from cancer. I've seen people hear from diabetes,
people suffering with loopers, people that have had strokes cover.
So God is still yet performing. He is yet performing miracles.
(19:06):
We just have to hold on to his word and
be anchored in his promises, and we have to be
obedient while we're doing that. Be obedient while we're doing that.
So understanding that God delayed is mercy. Not neglect what
looks like slowness to God's heart making room for salvation.
(19:28):
Hope grows when we see time.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Through God's merciful leans.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Understand that the promises are only as strong as the
one who speak them. God cannot lie and will never change.
Understand that we got to understand how to anecede for
the things that have not yet come. If you know
your purpose and you know what God has spoken to
(19:56):
your heart, you have to pray over those things so
that can manifest in your life.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Do the work behind it.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Align with God's patient art. Practice is promise keeping practice
those promises in the Bible. All you got to do
is pick it up. He's told us so many promises
that he wanted to do for us. Our action should choose,
Our actions should speak. We should take on these commandments
(20:24):
and obey them. Forgive, serve, give, speak again, forgive, serve, give,
speak truth, and do it because he is faithful, not
because it feels easy, but because we know that He
is faithful. Obedience is how we hold hope with our hands.
(20:49):
Being obedient is how we hold hope with our hands.
Refrain from time line by God's time. We got to
stop putting time limits on stuff and know that whenever
you feel delayed in your career, healing, reconciliation, whatever, write
(21:09):
it down, and then next to it, write down wait
for the Lord, and then pray this prayer. Go over
to Psalms twenty seven and fourteen and pray. Go to
Habacco two and three and pray, and then go to
Proverbs three, five and six and pray. Y'all got to
(21:30):
learn how to you see scriptures and speak these scriptures
over your life. That's why He's given them to us.
The Bible is our basic instructions before leaving Earth. Delay
under God is not denial. They are training grounds for
a deeper trust. Take that delay and learn how to
(21:54):
trust him more. Learn that his timing is always on time.
Anker your promise, and remember that not one word of
all God's promises that God has made has ever failed.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Joshua twenty one and forty five.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Understand not one word of all the good promises that
God has made will fail or has ever failed. Isaiah
fifty five and eleven. God's word accomplish what he sends
it to do. Understand that and know that his word
is not going to fail he Brews ten and twenty three.
(22:40):
Hold fast, he is faithful, He's faithful. His word is
not returning. He's gonna watch over and two its perform
and perfect it in our lives. I want you all
to remember this as we close out. God's timing is
(23:04):
mercy and motion, not neglect. What looks like delay is
deliberate compassion. God's stretching the timeline so more hearts can
turn to him.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
His not yet. It's never indifference.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
It is space for repentance, reconciliation, and readiness. When you
feel stalled, remember Heaven is working while you are awaiting.
Your prayers, and perseverance joins God's merciful purpose. Hope grows
when you see time through God's patient heart, not through
(23:43):
all pressure clock. His promises are reliable as his unchanging character.
Promises are only as strong as the promise.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Sir.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
God cannot lie, does not change, and never forgets his word.
Every promise finds its yes in Jesus. Our proof is
that God finished what he started. Faith does not wish
for thinking. It is the confidence rooted in the nature
(24:18):
of God's faithfulness, yesterday, today, and forever.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
When feeling fluctuate.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Anchor in facts, God said it. God cannot lie. God
will do it. So when you're feeling fluctured, anchor to fects,
anchor to facts. His word is not going to return
to him or why he will not lie. He has
never lied, and he will do it. Real hope trains
(24:52):
us to live holy mission mind and live while waiting them.
Don't stop living because you're waiting on God to move.
Hope does not make you passive, It makes you purposeful.
We pursue purity in Godliness as we anticipate his return.
(25:15):
Hope turns us our work ready to give a gentle,
respectful answer for hope within us. Waiting will mean ending
in good works, investing in people, and shining the light
in dark places. The future promise fuels present faithfulness, purity
(25:38):
in our choice, perseverance in our trials, and proclaiming of
the Gospel. The affirmation again for today is I hope
to hope in the promises of God. Hole hope in
the promises of God. Want to share this poem with
(25:59):
you God, and now I'm gonna get on out of here.
The poem of the day is hope. Rest in His
sacred vows, each promise bright insure through seasons. His love
allows a hope steadfast insecure, and that's that piece. I
(26:24):
hope that you guys have grasp something that I've shared
on today. I want you to just take a deep
breath and rest in hope and know that God who
keeps every word he speaks. So I want you to
(26:45):
join me back on tomorrow, y'all as we journey in
today thirteen courage and Silence, learning how the stillness can
be your strength and how God often speaks most clearly
in the quiet. You got to spend that quiet time
with him. You got to give him some of your day.
(27:07):
You got to give it to him and leave it
right there with him. Again, I want to thank you
guys for joining me. Going to try to get on
here early tomorrow, y'all.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
I just to have got a lot on going on
in my hands, but it's okay. But yet I press again.
I try to come on betweeny seven and nine. I've
been running a little late so because I want to
be finished by nine o'clock. So y'all know, y'all, a
lot of y'all are on your way to work, and
I want to make sure that I share these these
(27:39):
different devotions with you so that you can have something
to take with you as you go throughout your day,
and those that are getting off work, you know, as
they journey home, they can have something to rest in
as they, you know, prepare to lay down.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Because we're all and then we are in different parts
of the world.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
So I just want to make sure that I'm able
to provide a few nuggets, a few things that you
can apply to your life and that you can carry
with you because there may be somebody that you come
in contact with that may need this word for the day.
You never know, you never know why God leads us
to different pages and to different things. So every opportunity
(28:20):
I get to share his word, to share his goodness.
That's what I'm doing because I know that it's not
by my power that I woke up this morning and
that I'm able to do the things that I do.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
You know, I know that everything that I do is to.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Bring Him glory and should support back to Him. So again,
I thank you guys for your support. I thank you
for your prayers. I thank you for being a part
of the daily devotion, And if you would please join
me back here tomorrow, we're going to be moving on
into Isaiah thirty and fifteen. It's going to be our
(29:01):
scripture for tomorrow, and it says in repentance and rest
is your salvation, and quietness and trust is your strength.
And that's Isaiah thirteen and fifteen. We're gonna dive a
little deeper into that on tomorrow. So I pray that
your day is blessed beyond what you can see in
the natural. Father God, in the name of Jesus, I
thank you for your word on today, Father God, I
(29:23):
thank you for those that have received it. On today,
Lord God, I thank you that it should be seed
that produces fruit in their lives. Lord God, Father, may
they come in contact. May we all come in contact
with someone that may not know you want today, Lord God,
but through through our encounter that they will come to
know you. On today, Lord Father, I thank you fairy test,
every tried, every tribulation, because it was to break men
(29:46):
and mold us into the sons and daughters that you
have called and purposed us before even the creation of time,
before we was conceived in our mother's move. Father, you
knew everything about it. You knew every hair on our
head because you called them by name. So Father, we
thank you.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
On this morning.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
We thank you or your word. We thank you for
this new day that was not promised us or God.
So Father, we asked that you allowed the Holy Spirit
to go before us, to straighten out every crooked road,
to liver every mountain or hill, to allow us to
be able to conquer the things that you would have
us to conquer. On today, Lord god Father, we thank
you because you are truly worthy. And Father, if you
don't do another thing, you've already done the greatest thing
(30:21):
of a millland. That was to sing your son Jesus,
to hang on the cross, to die for us, to
shed blood for us so that we would have the
right to repent, so that we would have the right
to eternal life.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
So, Father, God, I thank you.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
And Father asked that you would search me on today,
and Father, if you find anything that is not like
you a contribute to your word. Father asked that you
would remove it right now in the name of Jesus.
Aligning with your words. You're feeling your way that I
won't go straight or lead anyone astray, but I will
stay on the straight and narrow.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Lord god Father, I thank you. I thank you.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
I'll give you praise, I give you a honor because
you're truly worthy. In your son Jesus' name. I do
pray a man a man, a man a man again.
I think if one for joining me on today, I
hope that you have been blessed by something that I
have shared on today, and I hope your day is
blessed beyond what you can see in the natural. Know
that God is yet moving and he's yet making provision
(31:12):
for the vision that He's placed within you. I love y'all,
and I hope your day is blessed.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Amen.
