Speaker 1 (00:10):
Hey, everyone, this is your girl sci BOOKYUD eight four three.
And yes it's a Monday night, and I know you're wondering,
what in the world is she doing here? I got
another book for you, guys, And these ladies came together
and created a book that I think we all need
right about now, because if you're like me and what
(00:33):
everything is going on, your anxiety level is bananas right now.
So to have a book that can resonate and to
give you that hope in everything that you need, this
is that book for you, guys. Okay, So I have
the authors. I have the authors of the book Shattered Silence.
(00:57):
There are poems of survival and home. Okay, these ladies
are gonna come on and they're gonna tell us what
this book to them, Why did they come, why did
they decide to work on this book. And also they're
gonna give you a little bit of an inspiration on
how you can continue to go through even with the
(01:21):
world that we have nowadays. So it is my honor
to bring up these authors. We have author Micheline Moss,
we have author Angela Thomas Smith, we have author Laschelle Grain,
and we have one more author that's going to be
(01:41):
coming up for Landa Pyle. So we're gonna go ahead
and bring up some and we're gonna add on others
as they come in. Hello, ladies, how are you well?
Thank you? It is great to have you guys on
(02:03):
with me tonight. It looks like you have somebody else
coming in in a moment.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Join them in.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
But tell me a little bit about yourself.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Well, my name is Micheline Moss. Everybody calls me miss Missy.
I grew up in New Jersey. I now reside in Memphis, Tennessee.
I'm a wife, mom, grandmother, so I spent a lot
of my time, you know, with my family. As far
(02:41):
as how I started my writing journey, it was as
just a little girl loving to go to the library
reading books I have. I've spoke on this before a
brother who really wanted a younger siblings to read and
(03:03):
he would take me to Harlem in different places. And
that's where my love of books became, you know, something
that was like deep inside of me. And so I
always wrote poetry and journaled a lot, and when this
opportunity for me to finally put it on paper, which
(03:26):
my first book was called Wake Up Girlfriend. And so
it was a collaboration, and so I just stepped out
on faith, and then I met other authors and public publishers,
especially with Queen Angela. She's awesome and she's been, you know,
(03:49):
a pillar in the things that I have done and
I wrote. So that's basically, you know, where the love
of books came from, and just wanting to write and
get your thoughts on the page.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Awesome, okay. And another author of this book, we have
the Queen of collaborations herself, missus Angelo Thomas Smith. Tell
us a little bit about yourself. So can you hear me?
I can hear you? Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
So wow.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I've been writing since I think two thousand and sixteen.
I have published over one hundred and I think I
want to say it has to be over one hundred
(04:46):
and ten one hundred and fifteen books. But unfortunately the
computer is kicking everybody out the night. And you know
why I feel this computer is doing this, you guys,
because I think there is something I don't think. I
know there's some thing on this show that one of
these ladies is going to say that we all need.
So of course they're gonna be those technical difficulties that's
(05:10):
gonna try to make us quit, but you don't know.
I don't quit. I might its silent for a minnutte,
but I don't quit. So Queen, we see you moving,
but we can't hear you. So why are we working
on your volume. I'm gonna bring up miss Le grand
(05:31):
Can you hear us?
Speaker 2 (05:43):
I'll take them a trout on this phone.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Miss Cherl, we can hear you, baby. M h mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
M m.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
All right. So while we waiting for her to get back,
Ms Moss, tell us a little bit about your section
in this book. What what was? How did you contribute
to the book?
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I contributed by writing about hope, forgiveness, overcoming pain. So
I feel like in any relationship, whether it's you know,
with a significant other, or it could be a sibling,
(06:44):
your parent, you know, sometimes you don't always see eye
to eye, or certain things may have hurt you in
that relationship. So I think we all go through that.
So another thing is I've been working on and forgiveness
and can heal if you don't forgive. So it was
(07:07):
just a lot of things that I just kept inside of.
Things you know that you know happen, hurtful, painful situations.
So I just decided to put it on paper and
to just get it off my chest and forgive those
that trespassed against me, you know. So I just want
(07:31):
people to know that whatever your situation is, you know,
first of all, trust in the Lord.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
He's always going to see you.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Through His timing and your timing is totally different. But
if you just hope and forgive and have faith over fear,
it'll carry you through. So I just basically wrote about that,
hoping to encourage someone and to also let you, you know,
(08:02):
know you're not alone, because sometimes we feel like we're
the only one, you know, carrying that burden, and then
someone speaks what you was thinking or feeling, and so
it's just like, hey, you know, I said.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
It for you, you.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Know, and if it's a blueprint to help you heal,
then you know, I pray that that happens for someone.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
And you know what, what do you consider as the
blueprint to help you feel well?
Speaker 3 (08:35):
When I was younger, I employs told that you know
that same brother, you know, someone's telling you something that's
it sounds half right or you know, maybe you should
believe it. Also, the saying other people a wise man
(08:56):
learns off of someone else's mistakes and a full learns
off of his own. So I've say blueprint to say
if someone is telling you something, then you know it
may resignate with you or you know that like, well, hey,
you know, I'd rather learn. I want to trust you,
I want to believe you and learn off of your mistakes.
(09:19):
And so you have a blueprint of what not to
do and what to do.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
To work on their mics because some reason we can't
hear them. Let me ask you. Another question was mas, So,
how is how is your journey to excuse me?
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Well, actually it's a new journey because I was a
person that like really helped grudges and it was like,
you know, I'm good, I'm done. You know, I don't
want to revisit that, but just some more that I
you know, put my head in the world and really understand, understood,
(11:03):
excuse me of what I should have been doing. So
it's basically I've called people syn the text, you know, something,
a set, a kind word to let them know that
I'm good because I know that that we're good, because
I know that they weren't losing sleep over me, you
(11:25):
know in the years that I did. So I'm just
trying to you know, love thy neighbor, think positive thoughts,
you know, do what I'm supposed to do, and just
trying to move on. And it has like, uh, it's
like a weight is off my back. I feel better
(11:45):
inside than I was feeling, you know, months ago. So
I'm just taking one step at a time. You know,
God's not through with me yet.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
I know that one idea God's not through me because
I have a tendency is one of those things I
have to work on too. And I'm admit I got
it bad. I got a real bad and that's one
of the things I have to work on because I
will clam up going myself and say go on, Michelle
(12:20):
and say I'm okay, knowing good and well that it
is hurt, it is pain, But in some cases I
don't feel that that hurt and pain is worthy to
come out. And in some cases I'm like, all right, cool,
I just can't deal with it right now. But I'm
on that journey with you. It seems like we have
miss Cheryl la grand mis Cheryl. How are you? Michelle? Hey, Michelle,
(12:55):
we can see baby all right, well until we get
miss Eryl up in here and goody we're going to
bring up missus Kyle. Hi, Hi, miss Kyle. I'm good.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
I'm good.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Well.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
I'm a social worker by trade. I work with the
elderly and the aging. My specialty over the years has
been working with grandparents raising grandchildren. I love writing, and
especially poems. I've also wrote written a children's book and
(13:44):
devotional I live in New York City. I love a
lot of the action. I love like going to plays,
to games and things like that. That's that's a general overview.
I went to see Mulin Rouge two weeks ago because
(14:07):
I wanted to see Wayne Brady and Tate Diggs, so
I went to see the Minute. Yeah, they're both in
it for short a short run. So yeah, yeah. I
saw Hamilton years but years ago. I haven't seen it up.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
My part is about I submitted three poems that's in it,
and it was about sickness because for years I was
dealing with sickness and illness and a lot of times
people don't like to talk about that, or you know,
they don't think you should talk about it, and so,
but a lot of people are dealing with it, and
you know, it's often hard, and for me it was hard,
(15:01):
not only because I was dealing with it, but because
at first the doctors and they couldn't really diagnose.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
What was wrong.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
So it was a whole, you know, a whole long process,
and so I wanted to write about and during that time,
I started, you know, journaling and writing about it, and
so I wanted to just put it all together because
I'm sure that there's someone you know in the world's
who's dealing with the same thing. I would like to
(15:39):
say that it's not easy, and I know that sometimes
you may feel alone and that no one understands, and
you know, also wonder why am I going through this
when there's other people who's going through not going through anything.
But one of my favorite scriptures is rom Was eight
twenty eight, which first to when God says all things
work together for good to also loved the Lord and
(16:00):
those who called according to his purpose. And I've learned
over the years through my sickness and illnesses and also
my life story that he didn't say that all things
are good, but he said that all things.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Are going to work together for good.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
So whatever you're going through at this moment, you know,
trust God that He's going to bring you through it
and that it's.
Speaker 6 (16:19):
Going to work together for your good.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
Thomas Smith, Hello, people, that this deals with a lot
(17:27):
of different issues that people are going through.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
And I think that someone who's hurting, or someone who's
going through something, or someone who hasn't overcome something, they
might not be going through it now, but it's still,
you know, how some things linger with us that this
book would help them because it deals with different issues.
And I think it's for people who are going through
something or have going through something that they still need
(17:50):
healing from, which we all do.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Yeah, I would say like basically, if you're a human,
you know, and you went through went through things, it's
just that some of us, you know, don't choose to
talk about it. But like, whoever you are, it's gonna
bring You're gonna be able to relate to it. It
(18:16):
is gonna bring healing your life. And I wanted to
say one day when you guys were talking about plays,
I went to see these play and good play, seeing that.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
I would love for us to have place come down
here to Charleston. When they come, they always come on
Wednesday nights. I have to work. The only player I
have seen in Charleston was Porky and Best and it
was another one. It was a homegrown one that was
(18:56):
down here in Charleston. But other than that, I mean,
we have all these these places that come. We had
Michael Jackson, we had Hamilton, but I didn't want to
see them people. I'm going to see the real people
I want to see. I don't know, y'all. I mean men,
whatever his name is, I need no Davy, Dabby, his
(19:18):
cute self. I need to see him. So, but I
do say I'm gonna go see more. I ask you guys,
you ladies, this question before we came on, and you guys,
this question is for me, and it might be questions
(19:39):
that you guys have. How can your book help us
in the times that we are in right now? Because
my anxiety level is like crazy through the roof. It's
it's mad ridiculous. And I know everybody's saying, samcoc Is
(20:00):
is going to come. But how can your book guide
me into the peace that God has for me?
Speaker 3 (20:15):
I would say that you know, first of all, depression
is real, and you don't you don't want to go
down that dark hole. So if if you read our
book and see where we're coming from, it may give
you an answer. It might let the light bulb, you know,
(20:37):
go off, and you know we're all going to go
through things because all throughout the Bible, you know, it
was sibling rivalry and wise and husbands and wives and
babies and daughters and fathers, you know, going on. So
(20:57):
you know that was a real story back then and
it's still going on now. But if you know, for
me too, it's like I just want peace, you know,
like how can I get to peace? So read something
or you know, have a conversation with somebody that you
know says, well, hey, you know this is what went
(21:19):
on in my life, and you know I'm here for you.
I can relate to you. I understand what you're going through.
Then you know that may help us to live another day.
So with the world being how it is, it's just
that you have to have hope and really faith and
(21:42):
stay grayed up. So we just we said, this is
what went on with us, and if we could be
a vessel, you know, in any kind of way, or
if your cup is empty, maybe reading this we can
pour back into you.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Awesome. I agree.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
I also think, like I think that it's always hopeful
to know that other people have gone through something and overcome,
overcame it, and it's good to know, you know, the
different stories, the different situations, because it always can give
you hope that you know somebody has overcome something worse
than what I've been through or at the same level,
(22:25):
and I can overcome it too. And so in these times,
I think we need stories of hope, we need stories
of overcoming. So I think this book is an excellent
book for these especially for these times.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Okay, M.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
So, is this somebody that, like if you had a
choice and they're not here anymore or they have.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
To be here.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
If it's a gospel artist, for me, a female gospel artist,
I would say CC Whinings, And it's just because I'll
just always find her so soothing and something about her
always like resonates with me.
Speaker 6 (23:54):
So I would say CC.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
I guess I would say Yolanda Adams, you know, because
she has like a really beautiful voice, soothing, a soothing
kind of voice.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
So I would think, well.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
I definitely would say Angela Bassett, And I just feel
like she can act and play any part, so I
feel like she could just read it and she would
know what to do. So I would say Angela Bastad
for me.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Mhm, okay, sorry, I would say uh to Rogie p
Henson because she's sassy and classy.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
I like that, nasty and classic. H mm hmm mm
(25:38):
hm mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
This has been all m phenomenal. You have so many
people tuning in to your movie that now we want
to do a movie about you. Who would you give
the honor of plane you in a movie about you?
(26:16):
And why did you choose this person? Now, this can
be anyone.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Hmm, so from young to old or this.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Age you know what, that's a great You can tell
me which age and why did you choose? I'll let
that be whatever you would like.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Okay, probably the younger may I might pick like Jada Pinkett,
you know. Older I would like Felicia Rashard.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
Oh oh wow, that's good.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
That lady is so graceful, graceful, but I would be
scared to have her as my mom, and I think
things that person and Ms Powell, who would you choose?
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (27:23):
I think for the younger me, I would choose one
of my nieces because she's actually she's getting it, she's
interacting and I think she would know, you know, my
storyline and she could really play it well. The oh three,
I don't know. That's a hard one for me. I
don't really know.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
It is okay, it's okay. The Lifetime say, hey, you
gotta be ready because they gonna choose you'all wants to
read this book. No, right, Well, we're coming to a close,

the algorithm go up and down for their books. The
more you see someoney purchasing it, sharing it, talking about it,

author more often for your authors, especially if you know
