Speaker 1 (00:14):
Lags and gentlemen, lay, I have your attention please. The

shoot fun cool.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Hey everyone, it's a Tuesday night, so you know I'm here.
What a new author and a new book. So let's
go ahead and get started. Welcome to Scie bookous and friends,
and I am your girl put tree scrumble missus. Scie
book out eight four three.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
And how are you guys doing tonight? Like? Literally, how
are you? Are you good?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
It is? Did you just say your prayers this morning?
Did you thank God for another day? Did you go
through the day? Did you have Internet? Because I surely didn't.
It was acting up on me today. So I am
so blessed that I haven't now thanks to good old
metro PCs. But I'm blessed that I can be able
(02:06):
to bring this new author. Oh boy, you guys, Confessions
is in the title.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
The psychopath is in the title. Y'all them two words
right now. That's scary.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
But y'all, we're just gonna let her come on out.
But she can tell us about this because I'm ready
to hear about this book.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Let's bring her up. Alotis Dominique, how are you.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
I'm good.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Thanks for having me, that is oh, thank you for
being here, and that is great that you're having a
good day. So now we're gonna first start out with
you telling us a little bit about yourself, and then
we can get title this book here.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
So tell us.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
All right, So I am a mother of four. I've
been running an editing and writing business for a little
over ten years now, and then I've also written seventeen books.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Did you just say seventy?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (03:20):
And you a mother four? Yes?
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Plan?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Do you have the.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Time late at night?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
We'll let's start off there.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
How does being a mother of four?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
If being an author and an editor? How do you?
And I need some tips?
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I try to be as organized as possible with things
because three out of the four have extracurriculars as well,
so I gotta really map out my time.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Well hold up and see see now you just added
a whole another leapt So hold up, you're a mom,
your author, you're editor, and the little people are extra
curricular activities.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Yes, okay, I know. And I've seen my sister.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
She has three boys and all of them are in football.
I just wow, My hat goes off to you. Oh okay,
Oh wow, So what made you want to become an author?
Speaker 4 (04:47):
So I've loved writing since I was little. I love
words in general. Like you know how people say, oh,
I'm a numbers person, I'm a words person. And I've
been that way my whole life. And I'm a person
who gets bored easily. And I've never gotten bored of
writing or what it brings for me, which is a
(05:07):
lot of peace and just release and the way that
my writing makes people feel. So it's definitely been a
very a very helpful constant throughout my life.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Okay, so you said peace and release. Explain it.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
So I have anxiety, So my brain is always thinking
of a thousand things, and so a lot of times,
in a sense, if I write stuff down, it helps
because I can get some of that out of my
head and onto paper, and then it's easier for me
to organize, because if it's all up there in my head,
I just I don't know what to do with it.
(05:49):
I get overwhelmed. So with writing, I have a lot
of stories in my head. And sometimes I'll start like
three different ones and I'll be like, Okay, don't make
which do you want to focus on. Let's do one
and then go to the next side.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
That's that's crazy because I can barely keep myself. Anybody
can tell you anything in my mind says about that
long and and and when my mate half serious knockdown
how we got I call him knocked down, drag out?
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Why because I forget things.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
I am very disorganized, but asked me to find something
that I got you.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Because I know where it is. For me when it
comes to my workspace.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
This organization is chaos, but for you, your organization is what
works for you.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yes, so one needs days.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Me and You're gonna have to hook up and we're
gonna have to talk about God to help me out
my little I'd be I'd be trying.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
I say, I'm gonna write my stuff down and I'm
gonna do give me two d's three days. And I
thought the one news.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
So and that's why I like for me when I write,
I need an outline. I may not stick to it completely,
but I need something to just have as a path
for me.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Understandable. So your books, what genres do they cross?
Speaker 4 (07:26):
So I've always told people I don't want to put
myself in a box. So I always want to challenge
myself and you know, if it doesn't work out, it
just doesn't work out. But so far I've written erotica, romance,
well my erotica. One of my erotica books is also
a mystery. And then I have some positive poetry, some
(07:48):
kind of scary psychological poetry, things like that. And then
I recently wrote a children's book for my six year old,
and then I do self help books for my business.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
So sweep for this six year old.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
But let's go back to the sorotical mystery. I think
this might be a first or very few. How did
you get those two thesm? So the main character of
that one is a man, so the point of view
is from the male point of view.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
And then he's also a lawyer, so it goes through
his sexcapades as well as like him working on a
specific case that is also altering his judgment with a
lot of things. When it comes to him not being
faithful to the person that he says he wants to
be with and things like that, it gets very stressful
for him. And so all these things happen and you know,
(08:50):
just a lot of excitement, and then there's a plot
twist in there with the few main characters and yeah,
so it's pretty interesting and it definitely surprised me. And
because I like Criminal Minds and Law and Order and
things like that, I kind of did the breakup of
each chapter in that way. So in my mind, I
hear the Law and Order noise and then I'm like,
(09:13):
next scene.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yes, law No, that's what I'm talking about, totally talking about. Okay,
So I'm gonna need you to when we get off
the show, send me that title.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
I'm gonna read that one. I want to do that one.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
So I was trading score.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
So yes, this one right here, this book right here,
Confessions of a psychle Path with Pain Causes, Who, what
and why?
Speaker 4 (09:54):
So going off of Law and Order, I love Criminal Minds,
Law and Order, CSI, things like that, and so I
thought it would be interesting to kind of, I guess,
write what that looks like based on what I've watched,
and then also just the experiences in the book that
cause the main characters to female to kind of go
(10:18):
through dealing with the traumatic experience and then how she
copes and functions after, and so I thought that would
be an interesting journey. So okay, so it's definitely a
psychological thriller. It definitely has you thinking a lot of
(10:42):
you know, when someone does go through a traumatic experience,
kind of which path will they go after that happens,
because you know, we have survivors of certain things and
you know they go on to lead healthy lives after that.
But then there's people who can't really escape the trump
and it does a lot of mental things to themselves.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Okay, the titles.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
When when you sent me the title, I was like,
Oh God, who made her man.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Kill about five people? Does anybody die in the book?
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:28):
I knew it. I knew somebody was gonna be dead.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
So how do you feel with this book and the
reason why?
Speaker 3 (11:44):
You know?
Speaker 1 (11:44):
How?
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
So I know we're not supposed to judge a book
Spike cut right, and we're also not supposed to judge
an author by his book.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
But her personality is.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So bubbly, you guys in the book. I mean, if
you see the cover, I mean, oh lord, what do
we say. I'm thinking, don't make your mag is this
is not gonna be pretty trees, not at all gonna be.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Your inspiration? Didn't it work? What was your inspiration for
this book?
Speaker 4 (12:22):
So honestly, you know how like someone sees a cover
and then they're like, oh, I got a story for that.
That's kind of how it was. So my cover designer, Felicia,
she is always selling pre made covers and stuff like that,
and I saw this one and I was like, yeah,
I got something for that. I don't know what yet,
but hold up, So you made the whole entire book
(12:46):
off the cover.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yeah? Sure? So what about this cover? Well, the psychopath
she does look like kind of like a carry the Yeah,
this didn't carry have blood come out.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
No, that was the pig pig blood. No, hey, listen,
I gotta go sleep at night. Stop the trees.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
So what about this cover? What made you say I
want this to be this?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
So she she looks angry and hurt. So I don't know.
I just wanted to write something like, Okay, what caused
this hurt? Because there's a tear there, So it's like
you look really mad, but you like something happened for
you to get like this.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Yeah, it does give you that traumatized type feel, but
it also gives you that teen queen murder scene type
thing going on. I just came up with at y'all,
But that's exactly how it looks it looks like if
you expand the cover, there's a crown sitting.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
On her head. But I can't believe he came up
with a whole.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Book off a premium cover.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
That is some talent.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Yeah, I do it all the time. Like Felicia definitely
gets my money all the time. I'm just like, Okay,
I'm getting another one. I have a story eventually.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
What is Felicia's last.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Name so we can go and look and see what
she got in her entourage and BB grab what's ther
last name? I believe it's Holloway. But on Facebook her
face name is Pintres and MONI.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
She did my logo.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah, she did my first slogan on my very first logo,
and I went back to her and I said, can
you revamp it? And I need you to add a
mic to it. And she is the one that came
out with my little book. Hey that girl, y'all, that
girl got talent, okay, and she always got a seal
going on telling her and she I think she did,
(15:18):
if I'm not mistaken, I think she did the Kendrick's
cover The Flower of It.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Yes, she did.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
She did the cover of my mate. His book is
flowersy y'all go hand by then be what to do.
But she is very talented, So it's great when you
have that that.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Well, it's not it's.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
It's awesome that you have you can look at a
title and come up with a whole book.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
So my question to.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
You is what I mean, look at the cover and
come up with a book? What comes first? We know
the cover, but the title or the book? Which one
comes first?
Speaker 4 (16:01):
So I think for the most part, I've had the
title because when I usually get a cover from her,
sometimes I change the title, but a lot of times
I think I keep what's there, So if I tweak
it later in the end, it's not by much. So
I can have a title and the cover and then
(16:21):
kind of go from there.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Awesome. So what is your ideal writing environment? Like, how
do you get the juices flowing in the head?
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Do you have to have a certain chip, Do you
have to have a certain music? Do you have to
have somebody looking at you like, Mommy, what are we
doing tonight?
Speaker 3 (16:44):
So I mean, how do you get that vibe going?
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Honestly, I think a quiet space is the best for me.
I would say fifty percent of the time music does help.
But other times, like just THEO it is fine because
my days are usually chaotic with all the children's activities
and things like that. So when I do finally get
to sit down, Yeah, throughout the day, I think I'll
(17:08):
have ideas that come to me, but I just usually
write notes and then just like email it to myself,
so I know, like, oh, make this, put this here
or you know, things like that, and it'll just kind
of I guess spark what I was thinking earlier, and
then I can go ahead and write it. When I
have like the piece and quiet, I see.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
I definitely, yeah, we gonna have to talk because if
I email myself, I always think less to go check
by putting my email at the top, I'll be putting
all kinds of stuff where I thought was the subject
line dog chat and then it be something like very abstract,
like what would.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I think when I put that up? And you top
of notes, write notes.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I got a whole pad of sticky notes that when
I put some down, my canto see your older ladies
skills is really.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yeah, I try to.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Somebody asked me this question today, and I think it's
a great question as an author, Where do you see
yourself in five years.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Hopefully just writing or let me rephrase that. My business
is my main income right now, and so I'm hoping
that within five years that can kind of shift over
to my writing. And I think I'll always want to
help other authors with editing and formatting their books and stuff,
because that's exciting for me and I like to see
(18:39):
other people be able to do what I've done, or
you know, thinking of the younger me wanting like, oh,
I want to be an author and being able to
help other people do that is really a good feeling
for me. So I'll always want to do that, but
I want it to shift where I can write more
and then have that as less of a focus for me,
and then you know, that's the dream.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
So why should I go get Confessions? Well, actually, let's
step back now, let's go there. Why should I go
out and get Confessions of a psycho path?
Speaker 4 (19:18):
So I think I would say my audience for this
book would be anyone who likes psychological thrillers trying to
kind of figure out what the next steps are or
kind of figure out what she's gonna do, just because
once you read what she's been through. I think those
who love psychological thrillers will have so many things in
(19:39):
their head like, oh my god, she's gonna do this,
she's gonna do that, she's she's gonna like. There will
be all these things that they're thinking, and then to
find out what she actually does. I think that will
be exciting. And then anybody who's looking to try out
a psychological thriller, I think this would.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Be a good book.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
So you tell me when I pick up this book,
I'm gonna start talking to myself like, hold, I'm now
see I knew she should because I will talk. I
will literally act. I will talk during the movie. I
will talk in the book.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
I will talk.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Because I'm not patient enough to sit and be like,
oh that was so sweet. I'm gonna be like I
knew that I knew something, but going I can't help it.
So you're telling me when I get this book, I
don't have to make sure I tell people I'm reading
this book, so nobody don't.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Think I'm crazy.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Yeah. So I mean it jumps right in, so it's
not like a long drawn out beginning. So I think
it jumps right in. It kind of gets you excited,
and once you start reading stuff, I think you will
talk to yourself like, oh my god, I can't believe
what's happening. Why is you know it'll be one of
those all right, all right?
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Is there a brutal murdercying in here?
Speaker 4 (21:03):
There will be there's probably a couple.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
How many people were killing? And you say a couple?
Somebody don't make you mad?
Speaker 4 (21:14):
You don't be like, you know, these might be justified.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
She said, hold on, did you just see the death?
Sure justified in the book?
Speaker 2 (21:26):
You know, I don't know who made her mad, but
she don't kill you in the book.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Did you do that? Did somebody make you mad and
you killed them in the book?
Speaker 2 (21:36):
No, y'all the way she say that somebody got it
good in this book. Because remember I said, we have
these fun fun questions at the end.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
So we are there. It's time for the fun question.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
So in this book, what is the name of your
female main character? Her name is Alison, but she also
has change later. She got what does she have a
name change?
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Later?
Speaker 2 (22:16):
So first of all, her name Alison, and then the
names that that's that's one of the names you find
on the Lifetime movie that Get Out slice their husband
and they sitting up there with the apple Pie.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
See that's that name right there.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
So if Alison can be played by any actress, who
would she be and why?
Speaker 4 (22:43):
That's a good question. I'm trying to think. You know,
that's not anything that I thought about.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
I told you.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Now I'm gonna think about that. Who would be? Yeah,
because I'm trying to think of like some psychological thriller
movies I've seen with female characters and I probably wouldn't
remember their name, but I could kind of describe.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
But if you can give me the movie and the character,
I can find out to name the person. The logical movies,
I think the only one I've ever looked at was
the one with Regina King and her son in the
Blood on the Ground.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
I think that's the only.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
One with Taraji. It's kind of like a psychological.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
The one she just did.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
I feel like she's done a couple now.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Oh yeah, she did acrimony.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Yeah she's crazy.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
She was past crazy, but you know what, and the
way you do kind of deserve that.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
He actually paid her back. But I think she was
still Yeah, she was crazy in that one.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Okay, okay, okay, See I can't look at movies like that.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Yeah, if she was too crazy or if he actually
deserved it. Those are hilarious conversations.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Okay, who is the villain in your book? So there?
Speaker 4 (24:38):
I want to word it in a way that doesn't
give too much, but I would say it's a it's
a community of people. In a sense, it's one main person,
but he involves other people.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Oh Jesus, you see a community. It's a bunch of him.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
Okay, whoa, let's take about that.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
You know, you know.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Cat, she just chopped him. Now, Okay, what is his name?
Speaker 4 (25:20):
So I don't want to give his name because okay,
it doesn't give it until later.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Oh, you'll be having people scratching their head throughout the
whole book. And let me find out.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
You didn't mean to have.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
A note pad next to me when I read this one?
Speaker 4 (25:37):
You might, I mean, just to attract you know, all the
occurrences of things.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
All see, I have not read a psychological thriller. I
do not see a book that I have read. You
might be the first one, because I like mass like that.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
That's what I'm talking about, all right.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
If you can describe these group of people, and you
can give them a football team, what team would they be?
Speaker 5 (26:16):
And and oh see I'm not a sports persona okay,
if you can give them a t if they were
characters in a TV show, what TV show would they
be on and why?
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Hmm? Just by their personalities.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
I love when I make the office think on the feet,
y'all just know I love this.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
And then I don't watch too many like real people shows.
I'm an anime watcher, so I'm thinking.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Of like a do you'll look at that stuff. I
have a best friend.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
When COVID was happening, I was bored at home and
him and my son used to sit down there and
play video games. But then him and my son started playing.
We call him the Nacharunrotto. What is that Naruto?
Speaker 3 (27:24):
There you go, Nato.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
I just thought of the show that would describe the
community of people. It's called dead Man Wonderland, and there's
like a community of online people that watch these other
people fight.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Dead Man won the Land. Yep, looks. I work at
a public library anime.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
I got a coworker who's down there and read them
things all day long. I'm sorry, you guys, it's great stuff.
I got another co worker who does a group with them.
All I know is to read the book backwards. I
can't do it.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
It is I can't. I can't. What's the one now?
The little girl as before? Steal a moon?
Speaker 4 (28:21):
What what is it?
Speaker 3 (28:22):
Steal a moon? Man?
Speaker 2 (28:26):
So Dad, Okay, so do you subscribe to what is
called Crunchy Crunch.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
I have a huge watch list. I have a list
of shows I watched that I would watch again. I
have a list of shows that I watched but I
wouldn't watch them again.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Oh my god, she's really into it. Okay.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
I really got to go to my first comic con
a few weeks ago with my friend and I cosplayed
as a demon Slayer character. His name is Tom Tureau.
So that was really fun.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
A demon slayer.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
I've heard a comic con. We have something down here
that was a comic con. And then I have a
library that does or Trontacon, and I mean.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
They go all out with the clothing and the food
and the vendors. It is mad.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
I said, I will work yourll desks all right. So
your TV show and the movie that they made from
your book, Professions of a Psychopath, they loved it. Okay,
so not a lifetime moving net. But they call and
they say, hey, we need somebody to play you in
(29:50):
the movie. We need for you to tell us who
you would give that honor to and why wow, and
they are playing you. It can be a star, it
can be a family member. But who would you give
that honor too? It can be anyone?
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
I I think I would say my sister, because she
looks the most like me, but she's a lot taller
than me.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
He's so taller you.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
I'm five to five, but she's six to one and
she's six years younger than me. But we look a
lot alike. And I mean, that'd probably be the only
person I could think who could.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
