Speaker 4 (00:38):
I don't everything about pass.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Please gentlemen, lay I have your attention. Please the show
stops right right SRD cool.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Hey everyone, this is your girl sc book out A
four three and it is another Tuesday night. Oh well,
sorry my fault. It's another Tuesday night. And I would
have bring you guys a new book. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
But again, and I guess could make it.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
So it's one of those crazy things.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Okay, you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
I wish her the best, but she just can't make
it tonight. So it's just gonna be me and you
and I'm not gonna hold you along, but I'm gonna
tell you some things that's been going on, right.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
So yeah, oh and I got my here. Hey girlie.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
So we have been receiving your nominations and you guys,
I've been looking at some of these books that you
guys have been nominating but inspiring author book yall awards
and of course y'all know y'all have made my to
be readless longer, right, but remember keep nominating your authors,
(02:27):
your books, your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Your viewers. Now there are some spaces.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
You may not have someone that's absolutely fine, you could
just go to the next thing, you know what I'm saying.
But we thank you for those nominations we've had so far,
and we just started between twenty to thirty nominations. Keep
them going. Now, if you had a book that recently
(02:55):
came out and this year, you can nominate yourself. But
guess what, Nobody can talk better about yourself than you.
Nobody can't despite anything. Only you can promote yourself as
much as you can. Okay, So we have that going on.
(03:18):
So you have until December twenty fifth to do your nominations. Okay,
January first, I am going to go live and I
am going to announce the finalists. Remember there are going
to be five finalists per category. Okay, so remember your
(03:40):
books have to have been published between November twenty twenty
four and October twenty twenty five. Okay, categories we have,
Oh my god, you guys, we've got Best New Author,
we have Best Nonfiction and Best Poetry.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
What else do we have? Children's book?
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Best?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Uh? Oh my god. There's just so many.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Children's book, women's book. There are a lot of categories.
Trying to find them all you guys, but just make
sure you nominate someone another thing. I'm a question that
you guys do. Please send me as much information you
(04:35):
have for your new authors. I've had some people just
send me the author, but they're not given me the
title of the book. Okay, And that's one of the
qualification is that that new book has to be their
first release ever. Nothing else but the first release ever.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Okay, what else do we have?
Speaker 4 (04:59):
What if they have been and anathology, that does not count, right,
It's only their own personal standalone books, if they say,
because a lot of people they do a lot of
anthologies before they actually do their own book. So they
may think that, you know, because they've been in these
(05:19):
anathologies that they don't qualify. But please explain to them
that it has to be their first stand alone book.
Anthologies are not included in this because it's not your
solo book.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
It's only solo books, right, right.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So it has to be your very own solo book.
Anthologies that does not count. Okay, it has to be
your own your first solo journey.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
I did have someone ask send me a message, does
it matter how long the book is? No novella is
considered a book. Okay, it just has to be your
or very own standalone book. Okay, what else do we
have coming up? I have opened up my books for
(06:08):
next year. Okay, now you guys, I've talked to y'all
for a second. Okay, serious inquiries only. I do not
charge to be on the show. I do do pre
(06:30):
recorded interviews because I do understand that sometime my schedule
gets busy because of my daughter and because of the
other obligations that I have, and I understand that the
authors schedules might be busy. So yes, there are challenged
that do do pre recorded interviews. That's fine, but I
really need you to be serious, because think about it.
(06:53):
If you say you want to be on the show
and you don't show up, you're taking an opportunity for
an author that wants to be on the show.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
My books are open right now for March, April, and May.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
My first official show would be the Award Show in February.
But in February, I am preserving that spots for four
children's author Okay, because in February we celebrate the Black
Children's Book Week, So yes, we do Black History Month.
(07:33):
But I would like to dedicate that month, and it'll
be the month of August also, but in conjunction with
Black Children's Book Week, I would like to open the
floor for four children's authors. Okay, if you would like
to be one of those four children's authors to be
on the show, in box me at Patrice Grumble on Facebook,
(08:01):
sc book yalls, everywhere is mine.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
So if you look at the bottom of screen, you
see it scrolling. So I'm looking for four authors. Okay,
this release is going to go on my Facebook page
and all my social media tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
But since you.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Guys joined us tonight, you have the opportunity to tell
your friends who are the children's author. Hey, she has
a spot open. Okay, in order to be on my show.
It does not matter when your book was released. I
tell people all the time. My model is there's no
such thing as a new book because not everybody is
(08:42):
read every book.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
There's no such thing as an old book.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Because not everybody's read every book. Okay, So the month
of February, I am looking for four children to authors.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Now we're gonna go back and doing these videos reviews.
I know y'all see me pop up with some video reviews.
They're like maybe two to three minutes. If you want
one of those, contact me, Okay, I will read your
book and I will do a video review. The video
review will go on all my social media TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram,
(09:21):
and I might even go over to the blue sky
in Twitter. I don't know, okay, but I have started
doing video book reviews. I am still in the process
of doing book reviews as we speak.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Okay, I do have the commitment of doing.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
For Christmas devellas and I have four of those already chosen,
and I am going to be doing two video reviews
tonight and they will be fosted by this weekend. Okay,
So you guys, that's really about all that I have
going on, right.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
But I have some things I need to share, Okay,
go ahead. So first I want to thank everybody y'all.
This is our last month of the season, So y'all
definitely want to stay connected, want to stay tuned in
so that you can figure out who's coming back and
how you can stay connected with the amazing host who's
(10:23):
gonna be joining us. We have some new hosts that
are gonna be joining us. I tell you we're gonna
be full next season. There's not going to be a
seat in the house.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Hopefully. Right now, we only have two slots left.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
So if you're out there and you thought about hosting
your own podcast, definitely, we are family oriented. We definitely
do what we can to support each other, So definitely
this may be a space for you. I tell you
we're not We're not costing you. It's not costing you
(11:03):
a lot, but we are definitely. There is a fee,
but I tell you, after your first couple of shows,
you've gotten your return back off of your investment. But
it's one fee for the whole year that covers you
(11:24):
two shows a month, and then you have the support
of ten other amazing hosts as well as there will
be a month of training dedicated to getting you prepared
and oriented with how we do things over here on
the Crew podcast. And then you have the support of
(11:46):
your fellow sisters and brother So definitely, if you looking
to host the podcast, this is the space for you.
Like Patrice, we actually run in contests to pick our
poet of the Year, which also holds down that section
in the magazine. We have a section in the magazine
(12:08):
that's dedicated to our poetry section. So the Poet of
the Year has the opportunity to share their poetry and
introduce poetry other poets to the platform as well. So
there's some perks for being Poet of the Year for
(12:30):
twenty twenty six. Only will you be able to be
featured in our special edition of the magazine, because we
do a special poetry edition of the magazine where we
do nothing but highlight poets. You also get to write
in any poetry anthologies that I produced throughout that year.
I think this Poet of the Year she was in
(12:53):
three or four three I think books that we did.
I have two books lined up for twenty twenty six
and one of them is dedicated to South Carolina poets.
So if you have ties to South Carolina, this is
an opportunity for you to be a part of this anthology. Also,
(13:18):
there is a global anthology where it does not matter
where you are. If you have poetic words that you
would like to share, this is an opportunity for you
to share. Each poet will have an opportunity to share
one poem as well as their bios inside of this book.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
As many poets as I can get to be a.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Part of this I definitely want you to be a
part of this. This is a free opportunity. These are
free submissions, so you get to submit your poetry for free.
That is an opportunity to connect with more poets. So
those are some things that are open. I say, you
just have to go over to my page and check
(14:02):
out some of those opportunities. We also have opportunity for
those that want to grace the cover of our magazine.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
There's an opportunity for you to be on the front cover.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
You get the front inside cover, and you get a
two page spread inside of the magazine that tells you
all about who you are, what you're doing, what you
want people to know about you, how they can connect
with you, and things of that nature. Y'all, I'm telling
you a steal of a deal. For only two hundred.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Dollars, you get all of that and.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
That month that the podcast host there own hiatus and
getting ready to kick off season number four, I'll be
right here in the studio. I'll be holding it down
for them Sunday through Friday, every single night, eight o'clock.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I'm gonna be right.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Here interviewing those that want to share their brands. So
each one of those amazing individuals that's gonna be gracing
the cover in twenty twenty six are gonna have an
opportunity to be interviewed in January. I am also going
to be interviewing the face of December's magazine in January.
(15:25):
I'm gonna interview with her in January. I'm excited about
the different doors that are being open. Also me myself,
I am going to be coming from behind these scenes
in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I am gonna be doing some amazing things.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Of course, I cannot never do anything without including the
crew podcasts. They are my family, and everywhere I go,
I share about them. I share about everybody that I
come in contact, because that's just who I am. I
just want people to be able to utilize those gifts
(16:03):
and talents that God has given us so that we
can be a beacon of light to somebody. Somebody's out
there that's waiting to hear your story. They're ready to
hear your journey, They're ready to hear those things that make.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
You who you are.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
And we just want to be an outlet, whether it's
through the magazine, the podcast, or any of these amazing
outlets that's connected to these hosts, because when I tell
you we have some amazing hosts that's doing their own things.
I tell you, outside of being a part of the crew,
they have their own platforms that they are holding down,
(16:39):
ten toes down, ten fingers up. They are doing their
things and they are allowing God to use them. So definitely,
this is a place you want to be. This is
a family of individuals that you definitely want to be
connected to. I can definitely say that they're doing their
thing and I am truly, truly blessed to just be
(17:02):
in the miss of each and every one of them.
So definitely, I want you guys to go ahead and
mark your calendar, set your alarm, because we're gonna all
of us are going to be in the studio December
the thirty first, as we closed out season number three.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Y'all three.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
We have been doing this thing for three years, one
on four years. I tell you it was nothing but
God when he dropped it in my spirit, and I
tell you.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
I wouldn't traded for the world.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
I'm just grateful to be aligned, because you got to
be in place in order to walk in those things
that He have aligned for you. So there's somebody out
there that need to catch up with their destiny.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
It awakes you. Wow.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Three years I still remember you got hell with my breath.
I was talking, but it was no breathing, and I
think I did what fifteen almost fifteen minutes. But now,
and at that time, I was doing Saturday nights, and
I was doing every other Saturday, and now I do
(18:12):
every Tuesday night.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
And it's just like the back of my hand. I
love doing it.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I love meeting new authors. I like when they contact
me like can I go on your show? And I'm like,
all right, you sure, because we're gonna have some fun.
And I love bringing the books and having the fun
with you guys. So my first show is going to
be februe wary. Third and that's going to be the
(18:38):
award show.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
So that's when you will.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Find out bad I told you about all the nominations
and the nominees and the finalists. That's when you gonna
find out who wins the awards. And then after that,
if you remember what I said, children's book authors for
the tenth, the seventeenth, and.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
The twenty fourth. Okay, I ain't gonna.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Let you guys go tonight because I gotta do some
video reviews for you guys.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Check out those.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I'm try to have him by this weekend, but you know,
this parade weekend, and then my birthday is on Saturday.
And then my big guy jeans, my oldest son is
going to be twenty.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Three on Thursday. Who lord, that feel old when it's
his birthday. His birthday December the fourth. That's my mom's birthday.
See that's that's that blessing.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
That's my mom's birthday, my cousin birthday, and my other
cousin birthday.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
My mom had two shared one nephew and one cousin
born on her birthday.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Oh god, but that's a big old family party right then.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
They told me that I would have him on my birthday,
but I told the doctor on that Monday, I said,
I'll see you tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
He's like, no, you want. I said, I see you tomorrow,
and lo and behold.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
After eating the Windy's Burger, it was on my way
to m usc even at the first grand Boy. And
then twelve years later I got a little girl who
was going on March fourth. But yes, so I am
going to get those video reviews. I might just go
ahead and mock them out the park tonight. You got
(20:27):
thank you, Miss Sherro, thank you. So I might go
ahead and just knock those reviews out tonight because there
are two good books by the same author and they
both are about Christmas.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
I'm not gonna tell you the title. Shit, you won't
have to stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Oh I do have a Okay, so I forgot this one,
you guys.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
I got so much thinking going on.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
So there is a Facebook group for s Book Gals
and Friends Chat and Reads. Okay, we're gonna become more
active in twenty twenty six. But guess what we're starting
now because the December issue of the magazine is out. Okay,
all right, No November. No, I'm sorry you guys. Not
(21:19):
December November is out. Okay, it is on Amazon. It
is absolutely free. Give you a chance to see what
we do. But then there's also a chance for you
don't won the twenty five dollars gift card. I'm not
gonna tell you how. You're gonna have to go over
to SC Book Gals and Friends Chats, Reads and Chat,
(21:41):
sc bookcal Friends Reads and Chats. You're gonna have to
head over there. There is a big banner that says
give away contests. Okay, you have to get the magazine
in order to win it, because the question has to
do was something inside the magazine.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
That's all I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
And I know you want that twenty five dollar Amazon
gift card because you're gonna forget somebody on your Christmas Lise,
because I do it every year, or you might want
to get something for yourself, suck. After the show is off,
head over to SI Bookouts of Friends Chat and read.
Look for the banner that says it says give away contests.
(22:30):
You're gonna see the magazine so you can know exactly
what cover. There is a link to the magazine. You
can go over to Amazon, answer the questions, do exactly
as it says in the post, and you will be
entered to win the twenty five dollars Amazon gift card. Okay,
(22:50):
stay in the group. Join the group because we're gonna
be having lots more activities. We're thinking about doing a
book club for those who authors who come on the show,
but we want to talk about their book in a
more intimate setting. Hey, we're gonna go in the group
and we're going to talk about your book. Yeah, so
you have, like mar producer said, you have plenty of
(23:13):
opportunity to to show your brand, your book and talk
about yourself.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
Yeah, nobody to tell your story like you can. Best
spokes person for your story. So I keep telling these
people you gotta take advantage of the opportunities that come
before you, because there's nothing that There's nothing gonna drop
out the sky. No, there's nothing dropping out the sky.
Everything you need is already in you. You just got
(23:42):
to stir up those gifts and those talents and let
them come forth and not be scared. He didn't give
us the spirit of fear.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Why write the book?
Speaker 1 (23:49):
If you're not going to promote the book, write talk
about the.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
Book exactly, except if you're for me, if you're me,
Because I don't. I don't, and I have my reasons
for not, because I'm too busy trying to help others
do what I need them to do.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
It's gonna be plenty of time for me. But this
is not the time for me.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
But I want you to make sure that you are
doing that, because the things that I'm telling you and
the things that I'm showing you, I will be doing
them when the time is ready for me to do that,
because it's gonna come a time when I have to
provoke my books and I have to do those things
that you're doing, but it's not the time for me
to do that right now.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
There you go, Miss Cheryl, I saw your comment. I
want you to go ahead and pick your date in March.
So now you guys were down to three days and
tuesdays in March because one of them is going to
Miss Cheryl. So Miss Cheryl, I want you to go ahead,
look at your calendar, figure out what Tuesday in March
and box me and we gotta going on.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
Okay, are y'all better go ahead and get those get
those dates locked in. Yes, and don't be surprised if
there's a little the pow it required because these hosts
are becoming hot commodity.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
They are very much.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
In demand and their time is very valuable. So just
understand that may be a a deposit required, a refundable
deposit may be required, stipulations will be shared, but we
want to make sure that our host time is being
valued because there's a lot of people out there that
(25:31):
want to share their story and want these outlets. And
I'll tell you we have some amazing hosts that truly
make you feel comfortable and and and not cold and
and and and make you feel uncomfortable, but they will
make you feel comfortable and they make you feel at
home to where you want to share. So definitely, I
encourage you to go ahead and get connected before these
(25:52):
spaces fill up, because once they fill.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Up, they full. And y'all know, time waits for no one. Yeah,
I'm sorry you guys.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
I don't know if I'm gonna be doing all those
extra DAPs like I did this past year. I'm knocking, kidchen,
you may not have done might not. If we full up,
those extra deats are gone.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
So I'm gonna tell you those's only gonna read whatever days,
whatever days you host them, the only days you're gonna have.
I'm saying right now, we only have two open slots.
I repeat, we only have two open slots. All of
the slots are filled, and that means you will be
(26:36):
seeing a host every single night, Sunday through Friday. You're
gonna be seeing them twice a month. So get connected
to these hosts and make sure you know when they schedule.
Once I get everybody solidified and in place, I may
just put out a roster so you know when that
(26:58):
when they show is what time tune in and if
you miss them definitely, how you can connect with them.
I have been sharing different links so that even while
we're on break, you can go over and you can
check out some of those hosts that was a part
of season three, so that you can stay connected with
(27:20):
them and see what they're going doing and how they
shows were for season three, so you can get a
feel of when you gonna come on, what it's gonna
be like.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yep, and some of you guys have told talked to
me before we have gone live and said you wanted
to do a show, here is your opportunity to get
We're not gonna, as they say, feed you to the wolves.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
No, we all support each other.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
We're all behind the scenes and let's just say, hey,
I don't know how to do something, all one of us,
because one of us will be able to show you
how to do it exactly.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
We're family over here. We family and it's all our
team work. There's no big eyes or little eyes.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
We keep making it because we are the change we
want to see.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
That's it. That's our motto.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
We are so you guys that's another two, right, I
gotta do homework for a ten year old.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
We're doing deestimals.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
If your parent like me, y'all know this new math
and nothing to play with. So y'all pray for a
sister that me and I'm glad my math days over.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Man.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
I don't know how many times I've looked at YouTube
video be like, what what is this new math?
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Why we gotta change the math?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
One plus one is still too Why we gotta change
how we get how the way we get to the two?
But anyways, you guys, another Tuesday night in the books.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Catch the replay.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Y'all know I always go ahead and post it right
after the show. Remember there's no such thing as an
book because not everybody.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Is not read every book.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Good night everyone, Bye,
