will you know, as we always do, we're going to
start out with shoutouts, right, but I wanted to give
you a little not an antidote, okay, because it's a
birthday shout out. I don't say nothing. Don't say nothing.
(00:35):
It's a birthday shout out. And the funny thing was
is that you were on the phone with him, right,
and you were saying, Oh, it's your birthday, blah blah blah,
and he were saying that. So then I got into
the conversation, right, And you know how you guys have
tag names for your DJ and Jeeddak right, Okay, you
know everybody has a little story or something significant to
(00:57):
their names. Right, So here Danny is talking to DJ
Scorpio and they're talking back and forth and he says
happy birthday. And then I got involved and I said,
oh my god, that's so cool, you know. And I
always wondered how he got you know, the nickname Oh no, right, like,
(01:18):
and then what happened was he turned around and I said,
oh my god, it's your birthday and he's like yeah,
and I'm like, oh my god, November. That makes you wait,
Oh yeah, he's a Scorpio. I got now I understand
why he was DJ Scorpio. Happy birthday, brother, so happy
birthday DJ Scorpio, mister eighty eight point seven FM, The Blaze,

Speaker 1 (08:37):
He's such a gentleman.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Listen, man, you got dope music. I like his attitude
right now, let's get it man.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Okay, So we're gonna start off. We're going to start
off because he's obviously a singer and a songwriter. Now,
we were listening to your your music, and we were
looking at the videos and stuff. Now we compared him, right,
you know, like a comparison. I said, like a weird
Alliant Yankovic kind of guy. And then you said, what
(09:03):
did you say inform? She knows?
Speaker 2 (09:06):
She knows, she knows. I said, yeah, we give him
some snow over.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
There, but sure.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
But we also were saying, he's kind of like that
story teller song person like Adam Sandler.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Adam Sandler, Yeah, have you ever been told that?
Speaker 7 (09:28):
This is definitely a first for all three of those.
Definitely really sure what works for you?
Speaker 1 (09:33):
No, I loved it.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Now when I was listening to it, I was telling it,
I said, I love it because you know what it is.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
We're missing that in music.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
We're missing the creativity, we're missing the fun, we're missing
the laughter, and we're really that that's something. When I heard,
I was like, this is definitely a great artist.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yeah, he's just like you know what, he really enjoys
what he does.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Oh, no, I analyze it.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
He really enjoys what he does. And I want to
give a big, big, lovable shout out to his doggie Mortimer.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Mortimer.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
If you don't think that's.
Speaker 7 (10:06):
My old dog.
Speaker 6 (10:07):
My dog now that I have is uh Allegra.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Yeah. I used to have two dogs, but now I've
got one dog. Her name is Uh.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
She's actually a rescue from Mexico City. But yeah, it's Allegra.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Okay, I didn't I didn't update my info.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
Oh, here to learn you know, I am.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I saw the videos with in them and I was
dying laughing.
Speaker 6 (10:34):
Okay, yeah there yeah, on on YouTube probably yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:38):
Yeah, that was my first dog.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Oh okay, because he was you know, you were telling
him if he wanted to go out to walk or something,
you know and talk to you. Yeah, you would get
for thought.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
Those were on YouTube.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Getting him upset because he wanted to go out.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Now. He was here taking him like do you really
want to go out?
Speaker 7 (11:03):
And I think he wanted to go with his buddy
or something.
Speaker 6 (11:05):
Probably, yeah, And Hank that was years ago.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Wow. Okay. So anyway, you've been a songwriter for over
twenty five years certainly, I mean that's you know, that's
a long long time. So is there anything that stands
out to you? You know, with all that music that
you've written for that?
Speaker 7 (11:26):
What mean by standing out?
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Like, is there anything that you did that you're like, Wow,
this was like the pinnacle of yours your fate?
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (11:36):
Other than this right now? Is that? Definitely?
Speaker 6 (11:40):
My latest project that I'm working on right now that
I'm promoting it basically is the ten songs that I've
done with my producer Mark Zubek from Zed Records.
Speaker 7 (11:51):
He lives in Toronto, Ontario. We're just putting.
Speaker 6 (11:54):
One song out kind of every month, maybe five six
weeks sort of deal, and the goal is to release
all ten of them and just see where it goes.
If we can do another ten in the spring, that
would be absolutely incredible.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
For sure.
Speaker 6 (12:08):
I just want to, you know, share the joy of
music and celebrate life through music, and if it makes
people happy and dance, you know what.
Speaker 7 (12:16):
That's that's what it's all about. That's for sure.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, because I was reading your biok it was more
like back in the day, it was more of a hobby,
but then it's it really started to envelop into like
a real big passion for you certainly. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
Yeah, all I know is that, you know, music is
to share, and if I'm only just writing these songs
for myself and maybe my wife or some of my
family and friends to enjoy, I just feel like I'm
you know, I'm not doing the best job that I
possibly can, and I'm probably doing a disservice to the
God of my understanding. You know, this music is to share,
(12:51):
and I'm so thankful for people that have put the
music out for me. To enjoy and now it's my
turn to give back, you know what I mean, and
celebrate this this thing called life through music together.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
That's for sure inspired and I you know, but also
like because like you've been doing it for so long
and you collaborated with Robbie Hancock sinker in music. Can
you tell us a little bit about that.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
Yeah, certainly, the main focus for those were basically just
to get something with sync licensing done, and certainly, like
I've I've looked into a little bit of that, I've
tried to submit a little bit. I've never never really
had any success with that. But it's funny because that
was the main focus. And then all of a sudden,
my local radio station here, I kind of sent them
(13:36):
all five songs that we did and and all of
a sudden, out of the five songs, they were like,
oh my gosh, we want to put on two of
these right away. And I was like, what really, And
all of a sudden I started getting spun, you know,
at local radio, and I kind of thought, Wow, that's
really neat. I wasn't expecting that, But to be honest,
that was more of my dream right from when I
(13:56):
first started writing songs and all of a sudden it
started taking off. And next you know, uh, you know,
I got inspired by that. I wrote this song called
snow Machine that was all about uh, snowmobiling in the
north and uh, you know how we got the best
trails up here, And believe it or not, I recorded
it just at home by myself, and I kind of did,
uh just a real rough copy. I sent it off
(14:18):
to that radio station as well, and they started playing
that one right away, and uh, it wasn't even really polished,
it wasn't mastered anything.
Speaker 7 (14:25):
And uh, somehow that one took off. And that's kind
of what inspired me to continue.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
To feel when you because I love it though, because
you know what he did. Every artist wants to hear.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
The Cuves on the radio.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Anybody says that's why when he definitely how was it
when you basically put your dial on right you hear
the DJ going, well, man, this is an exclusive right
now you're playing right here. You probably look at yourself
in the mirror, you know, And I did it.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
All I know is I was really thankful that my
wife was with me because we turned that mother out.
Speaker 7 (15:02):
We raised the roof, and we boogied.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Every time we hear my songs on the radio, definitely
if it's in the kitchen or something. We turned it
into a two person dance party and we just cut
that rug.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
I love it. I love you, you know what, because
if I can say something about that, okay, Because the
thing is when we started this about like three years ago,
and you know, I was a nervous Nelly at the beginning,
was and I was horrible. I really was. You know.
I had my sister in law say that he had
more charisma than me. Okay. But the thing, the funny
(15:38):
thing was is that I was driving with two people
in the car and one of them turned around for
the very first time and said, you know how, I
was at the Texas something. It was like a roadhouse
or something, right the restaurant, and it goes and DNA
Live was playing on the radio at the restaurant.
Speaker 7 (15:58):
That's so cool.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
I freaked out.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
I was like, what he goes?
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I called Danny up to let it. I mean, he
wasn't playing at that time because he was already there
for dinner or whatever, but he heard our interview and
the music and everything like that on the show, and
I was like, really, I said, we are big time.
Now we are at Texas Roadhouse.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
Baby, that's fired.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, you know, I understand what you're talking about. The
first time, I didn't actually hear it, but my friends
did and they were like it was pretty cool because
he goes, I heard your voice and I thought you
were sitting at the next table, so yeah, I was
in the room and stuff, but that was that.
Speaker 7 (16:37):
I love it. These people will actually text me or
call me and say, oh my god, your songs on
the radio right now, and I'm like, whoa.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
He does too. When it's on the radio. He does
the record thing on his phone so you can, you know,
see what what's playing.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
All I got to say though of it, I can
understand why people going crazy for your music.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
I was playing it.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
I was spinning it like she'd be cracking up the
times because you know, no offense to any artists, but
sometimes they give me something on like eh yeah, and
then she's like, oh, I was playing I was playing
your thing. I was like, yo, this reminds me of
the Adams sad the days. Baby, what I was talking
about this?
Speaker 1 (17:22):
And you know, sometimes with all the all the different
types of music that are playing, when you hear something
so different.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
You know, I'm trying to say, put it this way,
I'll be outside, right. So what I like to do
is I like to test artists when showcasing. So I
go outside of the venue.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Right.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
If artists can drag me and pull me in, I
like the artist.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
And if I would you, I would have walked right
into that door and sat there and watched the whole performance.
Speaker 7 (17:48):
He was fine, awesome, Thank you very much for saying that.
Oh yeah, there's nothing wrong with music being fun, right.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Yeah, he absolutely. You know what I wanted to ask,
what is? What is? And I'm going to look so stupid,
but what sync licensing?
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Sync licensing is basically putting yourself talk.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
I want to hear the musician.
Speaker 7 (18:05):
No, that's fine. I was gonna let Danny go. Uh.
Speaker 6 (18:08):
It basically like if you have like a sitcom or
a commercial or a movie. Uh, it's something to enhance
the scene, right, so you hear a little bit of
music possibly playing in the background, or you know, we
watched the movie last night and like the whole intro
was basically a song that's basically placement for your music,
and you know, uh, it's very good promotion.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
I would say for sure, okay, that's what that.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
I just didn't know.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Not learning here. She wouldn't know because he's not an artist.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
I found stupid in my head, like yeah, oh yeah, okay,
but I really.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Didn't know everything that you hear basically in movies and
TV shows, those are SNK licensing certainly.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Like it's just basically taking the song putting it underneath.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Yeah, I mean putting underneath the scene and making the
scene more lively with your music.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
I got it something to enhance the mood. Yeah, And
it doesn't always have to have lyrics. It can just
be uh, you know, the musical aspect for sure.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
That's why you hear so and then and and and
then you're oh, that's none of that song that was
on the radio.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
That's that's right. And video games too.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
Absolutely, I love that.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
You learned something new every day. There you go.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
I want to hear I'm excited. I want to hear
some more. Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Oh no, no, I'm just saying, but I have you know,
I just want to get to one of his videos.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, this is your boy DJ and and
JEDDI right now, go ahead, call it out.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Let's go first.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Up? Is I love this song. It's so cute. It's
called funking A. Can we play that?
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Please?
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 10 (20:00):
To be Condadi, so proud of God to say that.
Speaker 6 (20:07):
On occasion, I'll say something and.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Not automatically finished with A. Luck. If I was to
be funking, you probably hear me say.
Speaker 11 (20:22):
I'm so funking, I'm funking, I'm funking, I'm funking a.

Speaker 14 (21:16):

who cares?
Speaker 11 (21:24):

Speaker 7 (21:28):

Speaker 10 (22:06):
I'm gonna shout it out today and the next time
you get this feeling, go out finish your sentence with a.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Son out who's funking? A question in which you would
probably say.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Who is phonking A? I'm phonking a? You're phoneing A.
Speaker 13 (22:37):
We're phoning and.
Speaker 4 (22:41):

Speaker 15 (22:47):

Speaker 14 (22:51):
Don't gay okaykay fucking phone Okay, Paul, you're phoneking A.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
First off, you don't even know where talent even comes from. Sometimes, like, yeah,
let me tell you something. Who shot the video?
Speaker 6 (23:29):
So it was a mixture of my wife and myself
all the videos or all the scenes that I'm in
she's filming, and then everything that she that I'm not
in is I filmed it?
Speaker 7 (23:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (23:40):
First off, I love I love how you have the comedy.
How did you do it?
Speaker 7 (23:48):
Pretty good?
Speaker 6 (23:50):
Sorry?
Speaker 5 (23:50):
What was that?
Speaker 7 (23:51):
How did you do that?
Speaker 2 (23:51):
With the bike? You were like, break my leg?
Speaker 7 (23:56):
That's awesome.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
My wife and I both were just on our bikes,
and like there was different scenes that you know, she
was coming this way on one and then we both
kind of went on together on one.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
I don't know it just it just uh, we had
a We had fun. Man.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
It was just filmed in two days and h we
definitely got a whole bunch of people rubber necking and
like what what's going on?
Speaker 7 (24:18):
What's that? Why is that guy dressed up like that?
And people thought like we were real mounties. It was hilarious.
But but yeah, it's a lot of fun.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
We got a lot of good, really positive responses from
the community for sure.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Yeah right, you're.
Speaker 16 (24:34):
Yeah, man, it's like an earworm. Yeah, yeah, you gotta
do that dance right.
Speaker 1 (24:49):

Speaker 7 (25:14):

Speaker 1 (25:15):
I got it.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
You do sound like you sound like Adam zayla bag.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
Like that.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
But that's what I was saying because you and in
the informa, because I heard the school.
Speaker 7 (25:30):
But I was like, yeah, yeah, okay, there's a little
bit in French. I don't know if you caught that.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
I did.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Okay, good, I'm like, what, yeah, not quught when the friends,
what exactly are you saying in French? Right there?
Speaker 7 (25:46):
It's basically it's it's almost like a translation in English,
to be honest.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
Yeah, it's basically like each time I finish a sentence,
I want to finish my sentence with. It's funny though,
because in French they don't say a they say that's
basically what I was kind of singing about.
Speaker 7 (26:03):
Yeah. Yeah, I had a friend of mine helped me translated.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
He gave me a few variations and I, you know,
kind of worked it in so that it would you know,
you gotta follow that bouncing ball so that it makes
sense musically.
Speaker 7 (26:15):
And yeah, I think it worked out pretty good.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
I loved the video. And that was Mortimer, right, that
was Mortimer.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
That was actually Allegra still, yeah, geez, unfortunately hasn't been
around in my possession for for a few years yet. Yeah,
it's been probably three years since I've seen Mortimer.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Look alike then, because they're both black, then.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
They look like brother and sister or husban wife. They
definitely looked very, very similar.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Yeah, don't look stupid that they were similar dogs.
Speaker 7 (26:46):
They looked all like Allegra is like a small version
of Mortimer, for sure. Yeah, they looked almost identically.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
My eyes, that's the one that you heard on the radio,
right or one of them.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
So this song right now was I released it up
here locally just before Canada Day.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
It took off.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Everybody was talking about it was really cool. It was
like anywhere we went into town, someone was like, oh.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
My god, I know you.
Speaker 6 (27:16):
We just saw your video and I was like, what really,
And then yeah, definitely. It's it's spinning down in the
States right now. You know, it's it's charting, which is
really exciting, and we're just going to see where it goes.
You know, this is an exciting part of the journey
for sure.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
But I also wanted to ask because, like you obviously
are just hitting the charts with that song, right, so
you're number sixty three on media Base.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
Right, that's old news. I think it's now actually at
fifty six, if you can believe that.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
You know, I am just so far behind this show.
Speaker 7 (27:49):
We've got to keep up with the times at the time.
It moves real quick.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Sixteen three we went down to fifty six.
Speaker 7 (27:58):
I think it's at fifty six now, which is pretty
honestly going up.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Well, yeah, he's going up.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Let's go, man, man, let's go.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
Let's just do this. Maybe so yeah, it sugar up.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
That's that's what I'm gonna be playing it.
Speaker 7 (28:12):
I love it. You know what it is.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Man, you gotta get talent. When talent is due.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
Hey, that's right.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
So you you got talent. Thank you, you got talent.
He got talent.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Okay, I know he's got talent.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
That's why he got very he got very good talent.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
So anyway, are you going to keep singing that song?
Right now?
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Let's get to another one.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
No, I just wanted to ask him one question. Were
you born and raised in north northern Ontario or your.
Speaker 6 (28:46):
Believe it or not, I was actually born in Montreal,
uh Cleric, Quebec. I I've lived a little bit in
uh Quebec for a while. I moved into Ontario very quickly.
I think I was about sixteen months old. I pretty
much remained in Ontario, which is another province in Canada
by the way, for.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
Most of my life.
Speaker 6 (29:09):
I moved back to Quebec to go to schooling in Montreal,
which was audio engineering technology. I wanted to learn how
to record, and then that was pretty short lived. I
moved back to Ontario and I've lived pretty much in
southern Ontario most of my life.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
Just recently.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
I moved up to northern Ontario and it has never
made more sense in life. It's a beautiful place to live.
It's very laid back. The people are the salt of
the earth. They're just everybody we come into contact with.
Is just such a pleasure for sure.
Speaker 7 (29:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Yeah, I mean, I mean on time I went to Canada,
I went to downtown Montreal.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
Yeah that's where.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
Yeah, god pumping, right. And the funny thing was is
when I went to go, we went to travel and
we went down to the Metro station. Yeah, you could
eat off that floor.
Speaker 7 (30:04):
Awesome, right, it was the subway, right, Yes, I call it.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Metro because we're in Canada. Okay, that's right.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
When I went when I couldn't believe the clean, the
clean of everything, And I was looking at the platform,
the subway platform, and I'm like sitting there, going I
could eat off this floor. The train ran on tires
instead of like regular you know, we had the rails,
(30:33):
but they were on Oh well, listen, don't be bragging.
Speaker 7 (30:38):
I don't say metro for sure, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
And I loved every minute of I mean everywhere everywhere
I went that day. I mean I stood there for
about almost two weeks because I but you know what
it was. It was that I went down there for
a week. I liked it so much that I was like,
oh no, no, no, no, no, we got to stay longer,
you know, because I wanted to city. Yeah, I want to.
(31:01):
And that was my first taste of poutine.
Speaker 7 (31:04):
Okay, yeah, absolutely. Putin is a beautiful meal for sure.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Yeah, oh yeah, poutine, And I try to make that
at home. Yes, it's not the same.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
We've got an amazing restaurant here in town called the
Big Bear, and they make an awesome putin, for sure.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
They've got all kinds of variations that are available.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
Actually you can put like chicken and bacon, and I
don't know all kinds of stuff they put in.
Speaker 7 (31:24):
It's like a whole meal.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
When are we coming to visit?
Speaker 7 (31:28):
Anytime?
Speaker 6 (31:28):
You want?
Speaker 7 (31:29):
Come today? Oh?
Speaker 1 (31:31):
I wish you're only about it like a maybe six
no eight hour drive. I would think I.
Speaker 7 (31:37):
Would think longer than that. You guys are in Long Island,
are you? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (31:40):
New York?
Speaker 7 (31:41):
So I want to say, like I used to be
a truck a long haul truck driver. I've been to
Long Island. I've even slept probably read it that what
do they call it?
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Rest station in Long Island, believe it or not. And
I want to say, from here, it's probably closer to
twenty hours. Yeah, yeah, I did not even think we're
about like where I live. Now, we're about thirteen hours
from Toronto. And then I believe from Toronto to Long
Island you're probably looking at about.
Speaker 7 (32:14):
Another what is it, seven eight, nine hours something around there.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
Okay, so just then, maybe you can just overnight the
poutine to me.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
Definitely, I'll email it to you.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Okay, Now that's not funny. That wasn't funny. I love
my poutine. So I want to get to another video.
Speaker 7 (32:35):
Sure that sounds great, I know.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
And it's called bad Ass Band. No it's not, yes
it is.
Speaker 7 (32:43):
No, it's called kick Ass Band.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Kick Oh sorry you know I am really that's three.
Speaker 7 (32:51):
Good bad okay together, don't you worry?
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Kick Ass band? Can we play that?
Speaker 17 (32:57):
Mister producer, man, let me tell you a story about
another time, another time A dear friends me.
Speaker 7 (33:22):

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Forget about what we don next.
Speaker 7 (34:12):

Speaker 14 (34:15):
What to do is act upon away.
Speaker 12 (34:21):
I got cause up fans that a kick ass man
will just trip your hand without.
Speaker 6 (34:26):

Speaker 2 (35:14):

Man of you all again, dream Man of you, dream
Man of you, dream man.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
That was good, So temmy, How long have you been
playing the guitar?
Speaker 6 (36:23):
I'd probably say right around twenty five years, just as
long as I've been writing.
Speaker 7 (36:27):
Yeah, I believe it or not.
Speaker 6 (36:28):
I actually wrote a song just before I learned how
to play someone else's songs.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Yeah, So like, was there any inspiration at the beginning, Like,
was there anybody that you saw and said, hey.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
You know you like that?
Speaker 7 (36:42):
Or certainly absolutely? My first uh, you know, the band
I fell in love with was The Doors way back
in the day. I love that band.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
I watched a movie called The Doors from All of
Us and I believe it was and I was like,
whoa man, I just fell in love with that. And
you know, I always kind of thought, oh, you know,
eventually all maybe learn guitar and start writing songs.
Speaker 7 (37:02):
And then the thing that.
Speaker 6 (37:06):
Basically progressed me into picking up an instrument was I
broke my wrists very severely snowboarding way back in the day,
and I had a cast on for something like nine months.
I lost all feeling in my hand for something like
six months, and they said, if it was any worse damaged,
basically I would have had to amputate my hand completely,
(37:28):
which was that's a pretty serious injury. And when I
finally took off the cast and the splint and whatnot,
I said, Okay, so what do we do for physiotherapy?
And they said, believe it or not, it's too badly damaged.
Whatever you'd like to do for your own physiotherapy, do whatever.
And I picked up a bass At that point, I
just said, well, I have a feeling that you have
(37:49):
to push harder on those strings and build up some strength.
That'll probably do it. And then I didn't really write
any songs with just boom boom boo boom boo boom,
and somehow I just traded in for an acoustic guitar,
and like I said, I I started writing songs immediately.
Speaker 5 (38:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (38:05):
I learned a few chords and I was like, all right,
it's time to write. I was that I learned to
express myself.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
I wouldn't be able to do that. I mean I
tried playing playing the piano and the only thing I
could ever do was chopsticks.
Speaker 7 (38:21):
Awesome, that's something.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yeah, I couldn't do, like you know, a symphony or
anything like that. You know, no mo art, But uh,
what were like? What did you did you have a
pick up an instrument?
Speaker 2 (38:34):
What did you pick up drums?
Speaker 7 (38:36):
You? Yeah, that's one. You know how to drum.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
You know how to do the drums? You never tell me, I.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Don't say nothing. Actually you can ask Charles one day. Yeah,
Danny did battle me Jones. They told me i'd do
the jumps when I was six years old. Oh wow,
twelve years old, Djane.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
Oh look at that. I didn't do anything.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
I'm just why. I just that's why. When he's in
the damn like, it's.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
It's awesome band member, he's right here.
Speaker 7 (39:08):
I love it. I'll bring.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Oh yeah, we can definitely rock up.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
So anyway, what is like, what is your ultimate goal
at this point right now?
Speaker 6 (39:20):
All in all, is that I'm just here to embrace
whatever's coming at me. You know, I just want to
keep putting songs out there and having people enjoy them.
Speaker 7 (39:26):
I don't have you know, I don't.
Speaker 6 (39:28):
I don't want to have any expectations whatsoever. I feel
like expectations just lead to resentments, and.
Speaker 7 (39:34):
Uh, you know, I'm just going with the flow.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
I just want to keep writing, keep recording, and keep
having people enjoy and me as one of them.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
For sure.
Speaker 6 (39:43):
Yeah, yeah, I want to keep doing this because this
is what I enjoy to do, for sure.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
So you have ten ten albums song, I mean ten ten.
Speaker 7 (39:52):
Song album Yeah, I guess yeah, we're.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
I'm just hitting backwards today, but.
Speaker 6 (39:58):
Yeah, ten songs are already recorded said and done, polished, mastered,
ready to go. My goal is to basically have two
videos per release. So I'm doing one video kind of
like what we just watched in these ones, which is
something visually pleasing hopefully for people to enjoy and I
like that smile that obviously worked, and then the other
(40:20):
video would be just like a lyrical video, right, so
if people want to learn the lyrics to sing along,
hopefully they'll be able to watch that on YouTube or
wherever as well to learn the lyrics and sing along.
Speaker 7 (40:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Yeah, I want to know, though, have you done any
love songs?
Speaker 7 (40:38):
So, believe it or not.
Speaker 6 (40:39):
Those were kind of the ones that I did with
Robbie Hancock. I wrote a song called Your My Favorite,
which is for my wife and Everything I Am as
also for my wife Alison, and those were the first
two that started spinning on local radio.
Speaker 7 (40:58):
So I would have to say, yes, I've definitely written some.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Love song in there, no matter whether it's rock, heavy
metal or whatever. You got to put in a love
song in an album.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
Definitely, And I should mention like I was just a
songwriter on that project. It was yeah, we hired some
musicians and it was Robbie that sang on that one.
I really didn't partake too much on singing or playing.
I was just a songwriter on that one. For recording
for sure.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Still a big part of it is making that record.
That record would never came the light.
Speaker 7 (41:34):
You've got it, that's exactly right. And by doing that,
working with Robbie, it kind of enabled me to want
to do other things.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
And somehow, through the powers of the universe, I met
Mark Zubek, and I've never come up with better songs.
I'm thrilled with all of these, to be honest, and
I cannot wait to release more every month for people.
Speaker 7 (41:56):
I've got a new one coming out that's called The
Greater Good. That should be out. I believe it's on
November the thirtieth, So look for that one.
Speaker 17 (42:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
I remember, with everything that's going on in the.
Speaker 6 (42:09):
World right now with elections and you know, high priced
stuff and you know negativity, I feel like people have
never been craving more positive vibes, and this one called
The Greater Good, is all about.
Speaker 7 (42:23):
That for sure.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
My thing is though, when I'm listening to you, you
got good film music.
Speaker 7 (42:29):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
You have like an authentic I'm going to say, like
the doors like you can listen to them, and when
I listen to you, I go, Okay, it's making me.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
It's not making me depressed, it's not making me angry.
Speaker 7 (42:43):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
It's making me just listen, tune in and have a
good you know, a good vibe, a good feeling.
Speaker 7 (42:49):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
That's why I can keep listening to your music because
your music is universal, right, I love that means it's
good with the heart, is good with the soul. Listening
to it's like digesting. Uh uh, are gonna put this
a five course meal?
Speaker 1 (43:03):
You know, five course meal? He doesn't do it even
it's not hungry or something.
Speaker 7 (43:14):
Amazing.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
It's like even to be a DJ, when we spend records, right,
you have to feel that record, like that record has
to touch certain way so that the a funk record.
I can see myself spending that like crazy, because it's
something it's something that the crowd is gonna like.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
It's something that I like, and I already know the
audience is gonna love it.
Speaker 7 (43:33):
Yeah, after the five course meal, everybody is satisfied. That's
for sure.
Speaker 3 (43:37):
It's better than going around getting a fast food for
McDonald's about you know, feel like a hangover.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
You know, that's how I look at it.
Speaker 7 (43:46):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
It's just a feel good kind of a feel good
kind of song. It makes you know. I was, I
was like, you know, you know it's it's a feel
good kind of song. And that's what's you know, that's
what I like about him, you know, I love it
and Mortimer. But you know, we got a leg right now.
Speaker 7 (44:05):
But that's okay, that's for sure. Yep. She's a good girl.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
And a big shout out to Allison as well, because
let me tell you, you got to have the woman.
You got to have the woman.
Speaker 7 (44:16):
Oh I heard you guys talking about scorpios earlier, were
you not? And talking about November and birthdays and believe
or not.
Speaker 6 (44:26):
We just celebrated Allison's birthday yesterday, so she's part of.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
A happy birthday awesome.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
Oh that is so cool. But it was a real
true story and I felt like such an idiot. I
really did, I really did.
Speaker 14 (44:40):
I was good.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
I didn't know who his name was. First I thought
he just like scorpions.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
Yeah that's what I thought. Who knew? So anyway, I
really want to thank him for coming on the show.
It was such a great time. We had such a
nice time.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
No, I'm loving him.
Speaker 9 (44:57):
Man.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
Do you got anything coming up in Canada? Like shows?
Anything like performances.
Speaker 7 (45:03):
I'm trying to think.
Speaker 6 (45:04):
I've been doing a bunch of shows locally, but every
Friday night, just in our little hometown and wah wah,
there's you know, at Woody's Pub, there's open stage night
kind of thing, and you know, there's always people that
frequent there. It's hit or miss, like sometimes there's the
place is packed, other times there's about ten people. But yeah,
I know there's there's lots of good musicians in this area,
(45:25):
including myself hopefully and yeah, I know, eventually hopefully at
the Big Bear, we're gonna open up the back and
have some parties in there and some celebration.
Speaker 7 (45:34):
I know, when it's Snowmobile season. It would be really cool.
Speaker 6 (45:37):
To uh, you know, hit up some of my songs
and even the one that first cracked here locally is
called snow Machine Again and that that was a real
big hit. It's not quite available yet, but look for
it around December January. It'll definitely be coming out there
and kind of the same fun vibe you'll really enjoy
(46:01):
this one too.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
Well, we'll be watching you.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
Yeah, you better, you better be handing me that everywhere.
Speaker 1 (46:08):
But thank you again for coming on the show.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 7 (46:11):
It's a pleasure.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
We will playing that funking a for a while.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
I'll be telling everybody, Hey, grandma, you fucking a geez.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
Just let everybody know where they can find you.
Speaker 6 (46:25):
Certainly, I'm on Facebook, I'm on Instagram, I'm on Twitter,
I'm on.
Speaker 7 (46:32):
TikTok, I'm on YouTube.
Speaker 6 (46:34):
You know, if you can type in Grammary series just
like it shows here at the bottom, I'm pretty sure
you'll find me somewhere. I've also got email, if you know,
I'm sure you can find it somewhere through there.
Speaker 7 (46:45):
What I'm I'm all over the place.
Speaker 6 (46:47):
Oh and of course Spotify, Apple, Tuons, you know, Google
Play everywhere. I'm I'm basically any uh anywhere you can
find uh digital audio platforms.
Speaker 7 (46:59):
I'm certainly of alble on that as well, and and uh,
you know, hopefully they'll check me out everywhere that we
cheer reached out. I love to connect for sure who
I'm whomever.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Oh no, we're going to keep you, don't worry.
Speaker 7 (47:12):

Speaker 1 (47:13):
So thank you again for coming on the show. Everybody

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Bye bye
