week's episode of Dangerous Assignment. Theoriginal air date is June the twenty sixth,
nineteen fifty one, and the titleas the suspect cylinder transcribe Dangerous Assignment

(01:52):
starring Bryan don Levy as Steve Mitchell. Yeah, danger is my assignment.

(02:15):
I get sent to a lot ofplaces I can't even pronounce. They all
spell the same thing, though, trouble. But when I walk into the
Commissioner's office, I don't realize thatthis assignment's going to wind up with my
life being saved by a ghost.Morning came I, Sir Bruce said,

(02:36):
you had an assignment for me.That's right to you. Well, what
do I go chasing after this time? We already have it? What do
you mean this dictating machine cylinders?I don't get it. That's a point,
neither do I. Listen. I'llplay it for you. Say you're
been industry for the first three monthsof nineteen fifty one reveals an overall degrees
of ten percent in the total mannerwas lasst due to the common goal as
compared to a similar period of nineteenfifty of detail statistics. Honest follows.

(03:01):
That's enough to give you the idea, Steve. The rest of the cylinder
is merely a collection of statistics onthe individual European countries. About three cheers
for the enemies of the Common Code. But what's all that got to do
with me? You see anything secretabout this information? Of course not,
And why would somebody offer an Americanfive thousand dollars to smuggle this cylinder out
of the country and take it toEurope. Why sure that makes sense,

(03:21):
doesn't Who is trying to smuggle itout? The young student named Emerson.
He's waiting in the next room totell you all he knows about it,
which apparently isn't much. Where washe arrested He wasn't. He turned himself
in when he became convinced there wassomething fishy going on. I see where
Demason get the cylinder on? Thesecretary of the man who recorded it.
She's in custody, but we haven'tbeen able to get any information out of
her. I suppose you've considered thepossibility that the information on that cylinder might

(03:45):
be in some kind of code. Our best crypt analysts haven't found the slightest
indication that it is who recorded thisthing. Commissioner Anton Matty ever heard him
and not surprised need to have.I apparently he's an unimportant figure. Matty
came over here from Europe to liveafter the war. He's employed by our
government as a research consultant on Europeanindustry. Has he been investigated for loyally
completely? Where is he now?Route to Europe. I vote on official

(04:09):
business. What kind of official business? Vilation now Enaples, Italy. There's
to be a very important conference relativeto the setting up of the Continental Defense
Corporation. Oh yeah, that's thenew company that's scheduled to manufacture a lot
of war materials for Western Europe, isn't it. Yes, It is being
organized and be held by a mannamed Trasco. The idea is that raw
materials from Western Europe will be channeledto the Continental Defense Corporation as a means

(04:30):
of preventing them from filtering behind theIron Curtain. It sounds like a pretty
big deal. It's a tremendously vitalone as far as the Western European Defense
plock is concerned. Anyway, Mattyis en route to that meeting to serve
as a consultant of our delegation.Do you think there's a connection between the
cylinder and the Continental Defense Corporation asfar as we know. Look, I
don't see what all the fuss isabout. So somebody tried to smuggle a
cylinder out of the country. Wedon't know why, but we've got the

(04:54):
cylinder. We can't let it dropthere, Steve, I'll tell you why.
Before we took this secretary into custodyafter under surveillance, she had a
secret meeting with our old friend gayBoy. Gay boy sure probably the toughest
foreign agent we've ever had in ourhair. You know. Gay boy never
touches anything unless his big ste That'swhy I want you to find out what's
important about that cylinder anywhere and whenI think a half, find out what

(05:15):
this deal is all about. Nowthat's it. Bet your assignment, good
luck. A National Broadcasting company ispresenting Dangerous Assignment, starring Brian don Levy

(05:41):
and the role of Steve Mitchell, colorful two fisted government agent. At all
those places of the world where dangerand intrigue walk hand in hand, there
you will find Steve Mitchell on anotherdangerous assignment. Well, I've been handed

(06:02):
a lot of snarled up jobs atmy time, but this takes the cake.
As secretary offers a student five thousandbucks to smuggle a recording of a
report on the common cold of Europe. Nobody knows what the deal is all
about, and lurking in the backgroundis a well known foreign agent, with
me in the middle trying to unravelit all. A real sense I got
down the hall to the room whereEmerson's waiting for me. Look, I

(06:24):
tell you, I don't know whatthe deal's all of us. Okay,
okay, suppose you tell me whatyou do? Know that as much.
A couple of months ago, Idecided to go to Europe. I'm an
odd student. I figured I couldlearn more over there. But how did
the secretary figure in the deal?Well? I've dated her now and then,
and that's all nothing serious. Butshe got real interested all of a
sudden when I happened to mention thatI was leaving for Europe. Go on,

(06:46):
Well, she started giving me alot of double talk, sort of
coming me to see where I stoodpolitically. I see, well, I
knew she was up to something,so I went along with it to find
out what. Finally, she workedaround and asked me if i'd like to
make some money. I said sure, it was broke, and she told
me I'd get five thousand dollars ifi'd take that cylinder over to Europe with
me. Then I knew there wassomething pretty shady about the deal, particularly
when she started in on the hocuspocus hocus focus. What do you mean,

(07:10):
well, she said, I wassupposed to go to Italy, an
amusement park outside of Rome and thecarousel. And what then? I was
supposed to give a password? Whatis it? I was to say,
I've always wanted to ride in acarousel. The other party would reply,
your parents must have been very strictwith you, and I was to pass
over the cylinder and collect the money. I see that she ever mentioned a
foreign agent for the name of agay boar. No, how about her

(07:32):
boss, Anthon Mattie, the guywho made the recording. No, she
never mentioned he needed Well, oh, this still doesn't give me much of
a clue. Is that what thisis all about? But if they go
to all the trouble a rigid deallike this, complete with password, what
was it again? I've always wantedto ride a carousel, That's right,
And the reply was to be yourparents must have been very strictly Urther,

(07:54):
what a routine. Hey wait aminute, this girl's secretary is in custody
and they didn't that you've reported thedeal to us. I wouldn't know about
that. Chances are that Gayboard doesn'tknow it either. So if we kept
you out of sight for a while, he'd think the scheme was in operation,
mister Mitchell, I don't understand whatyou're getting it. I'm going to
arrange a substitute for you, Emerson. Substitute you mean somebody's going to take

(08:16):
my place, take that cylinder toEurope. That's right? Who me?
Well, I can't say I carefor the idea of electing myself, mister
Clay Pigeon, But right now itlooks like our only chance of finding out
what the deal is all about. So I grabbed the next plain for Italy.
It's Wednesday evening. When I arrivedin Rome. Outside the city,

(08:37):
I locate the amusement park. It'sa big setup, complete with ferris wheel,
carousel, shooting gallery, side showsthe works and right now it's going
full blast. I head for thecarousel. It's slowing down to a stop,
but there's nobody riding on it.Then I spot the fat jam.
He's standing the one side with hishand on one of the levers, and
when he sees me, a spacelights up like a pinball game. This

(08:58):
could you, my boy? Igo over to him. Good evening,
good evening, All right, you'rerun this carousels know, yeah, a
matter of fact, they've just derivedfrom the United States. Oh, I
see, I've always wanted to rideon a carousel. What's that I said?
I've always wanted to ride on acarousel? Done the bust? That

(09:20):
up? It's high time you did. I'm't pl you as a customer,
seal. Oh fine, look pleasenow, don't be embarrassed. I have
a many grown man, I havemy CAROUSELA I help you which animal you
like? Now? Wait, amaname me or you? I've always wanted
to ride a counsel. You'll shallotat the carousel? Are in a six

(09:45):
before I can stop him? Too, ton Tony, He's hoisted me aboard.
He yanswered the lever, And thereI am galloping gracefully around on a
giraffe, all of which isn't exactlythe way I hand for things work out?
Nice ride? Hey, where'd youcome from? Seem to be enjoying
a ride? I thought I wouldjoin you on this somewhat patron for riot.
You must specialize in trick riding.I didn't see a climb on.

(10:07):
I just say that I am anexpert at riding the carousel. Oh and
you, sir, what about me? Are you an expert? Strict in
the first ride? R My firstride. But perhaps you have been looking
forward to this for some time.Yeah. Matter of fact, I've always
wanted to ride on a carousel.Your parents must have been quite strict.
Ma, what do you know?I wonder if't Sol didn't tumble in the

(10:30):
password. So you're my boy,I have your boy. I am sorry.
Now the cylindar Blaze. You willplease give me the cylinder. Not
so fast if you'll think I'm goingto hand this over you. You've been
riding these carousels too long, Servic. I'll deliver the cylinder in person and
collect for it. Oh no,they will get off the carouset. Now,
see they're not doing very fast.I will go first. Come ahead,

(10:54):
Okay, now what Servict? Allof it? Hey looks Servic.
We've been walking about an hour.It seems like where are we heading anyway?
We used to deliver the cylinder inperson before I'm taking you to my
superior. Yeah into the sad Yeah, yeah, we are at last.

(11:20):
I don't see anything, just thedark alley. Indeed, but for you
it is the end of the trade. Ay a knife for you and for
me this cylinder. Ess again,Buster, that's better. Now he gives

(11:41):
me a sudden knee into the breadbasket that doubles me over like a croquet
wicket. By the time I getmy wind back and scramble and my feet,
he's taken off. I pound downthe alley after him, but he's
got too big a start on me, so I finally give up. Right
now, I'm not sure where Istand in the deal. Are they on
me or with Sarvik trying to pullsome kind of a fast one, But
I know I'm in a two deepback out now. And then I remember

(12:01):
the fat boy who ran a carousel. Maybe he knows Sarvik and give me
some kind of a lead. Ihead back to the amusement park pets,
who is still standing by the carousel. But just as I'm about the color,
a figure steps out of the shadowsin front of me, and I
mean a figure. Hello, Well, you do not really want to talk
to the fat old man? No, No, you would rather talk to

(12:22):
me? No, I have giventhere, But unfortunately I've got business with
the carousel pilot. But maybe lateryour business is with me, do you
mean? Or to begin with, you might tell me you have always wanted
to ride on a carousity, towhich I might reply that your parents must
have been very strict with you.You know this tune must be on my
head parade last time I tried outthat password A little gent tried to tickle

(12:46):
my ribs with a knife. ButI do not understand. I'm the one
who was supposed to meet you.He t I am a little late,
But you tell me, please?Who was this man? He told me
his name was Sarvik Sarvi ring abell. No, no, I have
never heard the name. Be forcingyou. You did not give him the
cylinder? Oh good, not toolate after all. Please to give it

(13:11):
to me. I will deliver it, and then here we go again.
Sin, I'll tell you the sameas I told Sarrek. I'm going to
deliver the cylinder personally and collect forit. Oh, but that would be
awkward, not as awkward as ifI don't deliver it at all. You
do not trust me. You're allright, very well, you're coming with

(13:31):
me. What's the matter now? What? You and Sarrek must have very
hurst your routine together. That's whathe said to come with me. So
I did almost wound up dead. But CEO, how you could get dead
with me? That's what I don'twant to find out. But all I
want you to do is come tothat small cafe over there with me.
Tell me that's headquarters for this operation. But there is a telephone. I

(13:56):
will telephone the person I would beokay, don't want to meet us here,
and to bring the money the backball, and I sit there at
the bar waiting for her. Aftera while, it dawns on me,
this is quite a long telephone call. Suddenly I get a hunch she's taken
a powder on me. I pushedaside the drapes at the entrance to the

(14:16):
hall and start down at them.I spot carl Outa still sitting in the
telephone booth, so she didn't takea powder on the after all. I
go up to the booth and openthe door, and then all of a
sudden, I see why it's takenher so long to make the call.
After all, you can't carry onmuch of a phone conversation with a knife
in your back. I'll back toDangerous Assignments and Brian dar LaVey as Steve

(14:50):
Mitchell. I used Carlotta's body outof the phone booth, and then I

(15:11):
see that the receiver is still offthe hook. I pick it up and
listen. Hello, Hello, Hello, hello. Oh, well I'm getting
nowhere fast. I don't know whoknife Carlotta. I don't know who she
was talking to when it happened, and all I've got to go on is
a voice and a violin. Ipick up the phone again and call the

(15:33):
police. Ten minutes later, LieutenantAmberto Prances and a guy I've worked with
before. He's a dapper little gentleof the monocle, and undoubtedly the guy
for whom the alphabet soup was invented. So we have it. The following
item A the body of a girlkilled by a knife in the back.
You see the contents of her pursewhich identify her as one. Look Amberto.

(15:56):
Before you use up the alphabet,I better sell you win on the
background, as I was to sayit, Tom Dawn, Yeah, for
you to supply Matche to visit recWell, I'll give you what I know,
which isn't much. An inconspicuous littlecharacter named Anton Maddie dictates a report
on the common cold in Europe. His secretary, who apparently is working with
a red hot foreign agent named Gaybor, swipes the cylinder and offers an American

(16:18):
student five thousand bucks to smuggle itto Europe and deliver it here in Rome.
A Senor mich I know, Iknow. If it sounds confusing,
it's because it is. But youhaven't heard the half of it yet.
I decided to deliver the cylinder inplace of the student. I slipped the
password to a little gent named Sarvigon a merrygoround. He leads me into
an alley and tries to slip aknife under my ribs. Indeed, I

(16:38):
go back to the merryground and tryout the password again, this time on
Carlotta. Then she promptly gets herselfkilled, all of which still leaves me
without any idea as to who wantsthe cylinder and why. Senor Mitchell cases
like it is usually file on theitem eggazine. That's a good heading for
this one. Believe me you sayyou found some identification papers in Colada's purse.

(17:00):
Anything else? See see Senor itemE money fifty, item F a
good luck charm from a place calledAntonio's Cafe. Itemmy G a match folder
from the Hotel Imperia here in Rome. Item age she trained ticket to Naples
four tomorrow moon. Let's start tracingitems E through Ah and see if we
get any kind of a line onCarlata. I head to the railroad deeper

(17:26):
and finally locate the clerk of Soulcarl out of the ticket, but he
doesn't remember if she was alone orif not, who was the weather?
And I try Antonio's cafe, butI find out they give out those good
luck charms to all our customers. So I'm a lieutenant emperider at the Hotel
Emperia, and one look at hisface tells me he hasn't had any better
luck. There is no record ofCarlotta Dunato having registered Hemti. I was

(17:47):
afraid of that. Just because shehas a match folder with the name of
this hotel doesn't mean that she wasa star boarder here. I know,
Senor, but I was hoping.I was too. Well, what is
suggesting? I'm here? You've gotme. I guess we've But what is
it? All of them? Listen? Isn't that a violin play? Let's

(18:08):
see sounds you like one? Where'sit coming from? Why? I do
not at all? Right over therethe bar, Yeah, that's it all
right, come on, let's goover at the entrance. But Mitchell,
what is this so unusual about theviolin the plane. Nothing except that when
I picked up the receiver after Idiscovered Carlotta's body in the phone booth,

(18:29):
I can hear a guys saying hello. I could also hear a violin playing
in the background. So here thiswill do. There there is a violin
player down at the far end ofthe bar, Mitchell. There's a phone
sitting on the bar too, soCarlotta could have been calling someone here.
All right. The question is thereare quite a few people in here.

(18:49):
Yeah, it could have been anyoneof them. Come on, let's go
in. Do you think that youwould recognize the voice again if you heard
of mission I don't know Scott verymood that she's debuting. Yeah, I
thought I am too, but Idon't recognize his voice. Trouble is all.
I heard the guy on the phonesay it was hello a few times.

(19:11):
Now, what's to go on?Well? Try listening to the voices
over the other people in here.Okay, Well, how can you pick
one voice out of that podge podgemuffenderfer she It's almost impossive. Hold it?
See what is it? Quiet?I'm going to my room. If
another call comes from me, Ihave it transferred there very well, Senior

(19:33):
Trasco. Frasco, Trasco. WhereverI heard that name and the voice.
I think it's the one, ButI've got to be sure, and there's
only one way to find out.I slip out into the lobby and from
the phone booth there I can seeinto the bar, I call and ask
for Trasco. Then I watched thebar tend to hurry out into the lobby,

(19:55):
collar Trasco and lead him back tothe phone and the bar. Hello.
Oh yeah, no doubt about itanymore. The same voice I heard
over the phone right after Calado waskilled. Hello, Hello, you still
interested in that cylinder? Yes,yes, you have it. That's right,
Tresco. You'll know my name.Never mind? Where can we meet?

(20:19):
What's the matter? Calata was supposedto get the cylinder from. You
won't bring it to me? Whereis she? I'll tell you win on
night when I see it. I'mnot sure I trust you. Look you
want the cylinder, don't you?Very well? No? Where the amusement
park is the place where you contactedColapa. There is a quiet side road
just before you get there. Bethere in one hour. Car will be

(20:41):
parked off the road under the trees. I will be in the car.
Okay, have the money ready?Y? What's that? Yeah? You
do? Likewise, I'll see youin an hour. Well, he's the
one, mention, Yeah, he'sthe one. All right, hold it
him buried up here. He comesout of the bar. He obviously does

(21:03):
not guess that call came from righthere in the lobby, going up to
his room. Look, have youever heard the name Trasco before? Trasco?
No, No, I'm gonna thinkhim all. I have. Only
trouble is I can't remember where theywait the commissioner. The commissioner. What
is it this commission stick around?I've got to put a call through the

(21:23):
United States. Oh, hello, that's your Steve. Yeah, jigglephone,
Commissioner, this is a lousy connection. Better, Yeah, you call Steve

(21:44):
finally located ally the guy who madethe recording. Yes, he's in Naples,
waiting for that conference on the ContinentalDefense Corporation to start tomorrow. He
hasn't the slightest idea why that cylindersshould be so important. Commissioner, did
you mention the name Trasco to me? Trasco? Why? Yes, the
fast goes the name of the manwho organized the Continental Defense Commination. Yeah,
I remember now, he's the bigboy in the deal. That's right.

(22:07):
I'm not sure yet, Commissioners. There are still a lot of missing
pieces, but I'm going to tryand slide a few of them in place.
Right now, it's along, Commissioner, and thanks. Okay, I'm
Bretto. I'm heading for that meetingwith Trasco. Give me about ten minutes
alone with him and then close in. I drive out of the city towards

(22:30):
the amusement park and then turn offon the side road Trasco told me about.
I spot a car parked off theroad, so I parked my own
and walk over to it. Giftin the back seat to you. Okay,
where is the ceiling different? Righthere? Hey? What have you
got there on the seat? Portable? Playback that recent brother, You're well

(22:52):
equipped. There's no time to lose. I must find out definitely tonight,
one way or the other. Findout you been in the street for the
first three months ninety two one tosee you see Mattchick. I thought his
name was Anton Matty. Perhaps hecalls himself that now, but his real
name is Matticick. So I foundthat just in time, in time for

(23:15):
a while, and that does notconcern you. You were merely a messenger
in this affair. You have broughtme this cylinder. You will be paid
for it. That is the endof it as far as you're concerned.
Okay, so it's me. Incidentally, you still have not told me why
you did not deliver the cylinder toCalata. She got taken dead. But
yeah, while she was talking toyou on the phone, so that is
why the connection was broken off.You killed her. No, I think

(23:37):
it was a character named Sarave Savic. That name ring a bell, so
they do not trust me. Letme investigate. It's in a miserable snoop
of the Savvic to check upon meafter the service I have given him.
This Savic, he did not hearthe voice from the cylinder. No,
he tried to get it away fromme, but I didn't like his method,
which consisted of a knife in myribs. And I'm still secure.

(24:02):
Take care of met to check beforethe meeting, Savik, and the party
will not even know it was meantto check because I will destroy the cylinder
and then I will do Savik. What still, Godrusco, I think your
little secret is safe, Savig.Listen to me. One of the most
important projects we have have an undertaken, the Continental Defense Corporation, and you

(24:25):
would ruin it all. So theContinental Defense Corporation is just a front.
Uh pretty smart. No, itis vital that you not be identified as
one of us, Trusco. Yethere is a man Anton matter Chick who
will attend the conference tomorrow. Hewill see you there and recognize you from
the old days. He will knowwho you are, that you are one
of us. Our plan will beruined. No, No, I will

(24:45):
kill melt Check before the meeting.I swear that nobody will know. It's
not good enough, Trusco. Ifmother Check knows, perhaps others will too.
And I must inform you that youwill be dealt with severely for trying
to cover up the fact that youare a bad risk for us. Give
me that cylinder, Servic, Isaid, give it to me very well.

(25:07):
Here Pascal flips the cylinder and Servic'sface and jerks the gun out of
his pocket. Servic recovers fast, but not fast enough. I'm now,
sir, With you out of theway, my secret would be safe.
He swings a gun towards me,and I dive at him a dead heat.

(25:27):
Something hot creases my skull and Ihit the foreboards. I guess I'm
not only a few seconds when Icome to Lieutenant Imbart, who was standing
beside the car pumping lead down therope. Rachel, you're right, yeah,
just parted by a hair the hardway where Tresco. Go? Climb

(25:48):
over that wall. Come on,musement parks on the other side of the
wall. Isn't nice? He mingleswith the people in there. We'll have
trouble spotting him. I do notthink there is much more crowd. No,
it's ruther lady who I think wecan grab the top of the wall
if we jump. Yeah, I'vegot it. Okay, come on,
I'll give you a hand. Comes. Not much of a crowd in the

(26:15):
ground. Come, let's sit hereon top of the wall moment. I
think we'll have a better chance ofspotting him from up here. Perhaps you're
right. Make sure that were youable to find out what this is all
about before the shooting is tie Prettymuch from what I could piece together,
it breaks down something like this. The Continental Defense Corporation is a front organized
by the Iron Curtain kids. WhatYeah, pretty sharp scheme too. They

(26:38):
get the Western European countries to channelall their raw materials into the corporation.
Then they either sabotize the defense programor maybe filter a lot of the stuff
behind the iron curtain and visit Trasco. He was at the head of it,
a figurehead. They probably picked himbecause he'd kept his affiliation with them
secret. But then he learned thata guy named Anton Matty was scheduled to
attend the conference. Was afraid. This was Anton mada Check, a guy

(27:02):
who used to know him in theold days in Europe, a guy who
could put the finger on him asa party boy, And so he had
the ceilin the stolen to make asurta. That's right. He intended to
knock off Maddie or Mattacheck before theconference tomorrow. You figured he'd be in
the clear that way. But thisother man they did want to because Sor
the party sent him to investigate Trasco, and he tumbled the Trasco scheme and

(27:22):
didn't like it. So, hey, what is it look slipping into that
building over there, Trasco, Comeon, jump? Did he see us?
I do not know. I wentinside. Let's go what's that sign
on the building saying bergo, it'scalled the House of Terrors. House of
Terror is all great, a spooktalus yet, Okay, you'll go around
to the other side and cover theexit. I'mdargo, I'm going in.

(27:49):
I shall open the door and duckin fast. It's dark. That joined
his typical assorted groans and wild laughs. I started threading my way through,
and halfway through the poor heaves underneath, I lurched one side and grab a
handrail to steady myself. Suddenly alarge ghost like figure is flapping in front
of my face. I swallowed myAdam's apple and poke at it. It's

(28:10):
a sheet tripped into action when Igrabbed the handrail. I start moving again
and sweating. Still no sign oftrashco Then all of a sudden, I
had gone in my ribs and around. I have no desire to meet your
friend at the exit. We're goingout the way we came in. Moved
we started walking. I don't thinkOF's something fast. I'm cooked, and
I remember the handrail and the sheet. I hope it never misses. We

(28:33):
reached the spot then I grabbed forthe rail and sure enough, the ghost
flaps out in front of us.Thanks fook Mitche Mitche it away right here.
I'm there, Gonn Trasca, alsoright here horizontal, with the help
of my friend the Spook. Soyou and this friend Diosi, you're too
much of a Trasco, You mightsay that against the two of us.

(28:55):
Trasco didn't have the ghost of achance. Death on our highways is ever
present. Full control of your carand attention to traffic conditions will cut down

(29:18):
accidents. Observe the truck driver infront of you, then drive as carefully
as he does. A life yousave may be mine or your own.

(29:48):
Dangerous assignment, starring Bryan dar Levyas Steve Mitchell with her Butterfield as the
commissioner, is written by Bob Rifeand Adrian Chandal, with music by Robert
R. Brewster, and is pretEuston directed by Bill Karne. Others in
the cast were Tony Barrett, Stacy, Harris, Don Diamond, Betty lou
Gerson, Lou Krugman, and RaymondBurr. Be with us again next week

(30:10):
at this time, when Brian donLevy, starring in the role of Steve
Mitchell, will embark on another dangerousassignment. A death toll on America's highways

(30:30):
has surpassed the total of any singlewar. Primary causes are speed, carelessness,
and lack of courtesy. A goodrule to follow is that of America's
friendly truck drivers, consideration and courtesyto all motorists. Remember the life you
save may be your own. Dangerousassignment came to you from Hollywood. This
is NBC, the National Broadcasting Company. Welcome back. Well a pretty good

(31:06):
episode. I enjoyed the mystery.I thought it was clever to have the
reason this tape was being smuggled outof the country to be not related to
the contents, but to the voiceon the tape, because apparently Burvillain had
seen a picture of the guy comingfrom Washington, but wasn't sure that it

(31:29):
was actually him, though he wantedto hear the audio. Also, in
terms of Soviet plots, I thoughtthat this was clever idea of leverging concerns
about the Soviets gaining access to Westernarms in order to set up a corporation
that would give the Soviets access toWestern arms. I also appreciated because I've

(31:55):
teased the series about being super vagueabout whats and what opponents were actually talking
about. It felt like this episodewas doing a whole lot less of the
beating around the bush, so Iwelcome that. Overall, just a really
solid episode. Now it's time totalk about our plans for Wednesdays and season

(32:19):
fifteen, and the big news isthat in season fifteen we will start playing
Broadway Is My Beat. This isa series that a lot of people have
been eager for us to play, and so I appreciate your patients, and
some more is required as we stillhave around forty weeks of Dangerous Assignment left,
but next summer we are going toget into Broadway Is My Beat.

(32:44):
It's a great series and I'm lookingforward to bringing it to you. Of
course, on the downside, itdoes mark the end of a six year
period where, since the end ofDangerous Assignment, Wednesdays have featured stories with
an international flavor, beginning with RockyJordan and then The Man Collex and finally

(33:07):
Dangerous Assignment. It's been a greatrun through these series, but I think
people are really going to enjoy Broadwayas My Beat once that starts to play,
and that will carry us through therest of season fifteen and through sixteen
and seventeen, and through most ofthe way through season eighteen. Just as

(33:28):
is the case with the Falcon onMondays, I don't really have planned what
happens once we finished Broadway as mybeat that's even further down the line and
will obviously be influenced by what Iend up doing on Mondays. Now we
turn to listener comments and feedback, and am It rides in on Facebook regarding

(33:49):
Operation Hotfoot. I enjoyed this episode. It was good to hear Lord Byron
