(00:05):
Tiffany was an amazing daughter. Iwas so blessed to have had her for
the short time that I did.She was a very talented vocalist and musician.
She made it to the semifinal roundsof American Idol twice. Just beautiful
(00:26):
heart, just would help anybody whoneeded help. She was the kind of
person if she saw anybody being pickedon or or you know, the underdog,
she was always the one that stuckup for him. You know.
She was the mother of two youngchildren, three and five years old when
she passed. Virginia Krieger lost herdaughter Tiffany to fetinol poisoning. She's just
(00:50):
one of tens of thousands of peoplewho've lost loved ones due to the ongoing
fetinel crisis. For these folks, their lives are forever changed. I first
met Krieger in her home in Ohio. She was surrounded by pictures of her
daughter, Tiffany, her daughter's brightsmile, blue eyes, long brown hair
(01:10):
adorning the poster boards, a hauntingreminder of a life taken way too soon.
She was preparing to leave for anevent in Washington, d C.
To protest the Chinese government at theEmbassy to warn other parents about the deadly
drugs pouring across the southern border. She was sad, a TV is on
in the background and a cigarette inher hand. Rejection. Her loss wasn't
(01:36):
just a loss to our family, but it was a loss to so many
others who she has helped along theway, people who just loved her.
And it was a shock. Itwas nothing we expected. She was alone,
but so many people in America arefeeling the same pain. In fact,
(01:57):
the Facebook group that Virginia helped foundfor families of the victims of our
nation's drug epidemic has more than nineteenthousand members, and it's growing at an
average rate of three hundred new membersper week. And more frighteningly, our
adversaries, particularly China, are nowpoisoning Americans through counterfeit pills. That's what
(02:23):
happened to Virginia's daughter and tens ofthousands of other Americans, and yet we
hardly ever hear about it. Weare living in a world of disinformation,
one where major news stories are suppressedand the narrative surrounding mainstream media outlets are
(02:47):
curated by big government, big media, and big tech. Welcome to dark
Wars. The Border. I'm SarahCarter. I've spent the majority of my
career covering immigration and border issues fornewspapers, television, and radio. In
this episode, will explore the connectionsbetween China, the cartels, and drugs
(03:10):
like fetanol and methanephetamine pouring over theUS border from Mexico. Will also show
you how China uses the drug cartelsas proxies in its irregular war against the
United States. Together, they're weakeningour families, destroying our communities, disabling
(03:35):
our government, and crippling its abilityto respond effectively to the pandemic of addiction.
From rural America to our biggest cities. Almost every family is affected by
the tragedy of drug poisoning or addiction. Even our president's own family is an
exempt from the pain. Called alove more the whole world health. It's
(04:05):
a tragic story. President Biden obviouslycares deeply for his son Hunter, but
this is also one situation of manythat could make the President of the United
States an easy mark for Chinese influence. You. It's called elite capture when
(04:25):
an adversary applies pressure to a powerfulperson's known weak spot. Peter Schweitzer of
the Government Accountability Institute says that's preciselywhat China is doing to President Biden,
and this puts our nation at risk. The Chinese have a term for it.
They call it elite capture, andthe strategy is they want to effectively
(04:46):
capture elites in other countries. They'vedone it in Australia, New Zealand,
they're doing it in the United States. And they basically want to entice elites
by giving them sweetheart deals, helpingmake them rich, because that's going to
give them leverage over those elites. That's what you have with the Bidens.
Schweitzer's research exposed the tens of millionsof dollars that were transferred from Chinese companies
(05:09):
directly connected with the Communist Party intoHunter Biden's businesses and bank accounts. Think
about, and you've done a lotof great reporting on this in the past,
the situation with the alleged meetings withthe Russians in Trump Tower and all
the Russia collusion stuff that was presentedin the context of concerns about national security
(05:30):
the integrity of the First Family, which all of course ended up not being
true. In the case of theBidens, you have the fact that Hunter
Biden and the Biden family is receivedby the account of the laptop and other
material, some thirty one million dollars. I talk about this in my book.
And if you look at the fourbusinessmen mentioned in the emails that set
those deals up, Sarah, eachand every one of them has ties to
(05:53):
the highest levels of Chinese intelligence.Meaning one guy who helped arrange a twenty
million dollars deal from Hunter Biden atthe back same time, at the exact
same time he did that deal wasbusiness partners with a vice minister for State
security in China. Hunter Biden isn'tthe only one. This is a common
tactic of foreign intelligence to target seniorgovernment officials and their families. In twenty
(06:17):
eighteen, it was revealed that CaliforniaSenator Dianne Feinstein had a Chinese spy on
her staff for twenty years. Intwenty twenty, Axios uncovered a story that
a Chinese national named Fengg Fang targetedlocal politicians in the Bay Area, and
one of her biggest targets ended upbeing Congressman Eric Swalwell. Just this October,
(06:44):
two Chinese nationals were charged with payingtens of thousands of dollars in cash
and jewelry to obstruct a federal investigationinto Chinese tech giant Whahwei. Meanwhile,
down on the poorous border, mexIn cartels are taking advantage of our weakness
by bringing in hundreds of billions ofdollars in narcotics. We've got numerous amounts
(07:12):
of bundles through here. This isone bit I guess we had missed or
whatever. And like I said, about two years ago and we've come through
here and you can just see it. This was about fifty pounds. I
guess that was in here and it'sjust now that's want to scatter there on
the ground. Oh marijuana right here, yes, sir, Oh marijuana here.
This is one of many drugs smugglingcamps found along the border by law
(07:35):
enforcement. This is a layup spotright here at Fianna. You can hear
it looks like a decent bag rightthere still has it looks cool. Can
you bust them a light in hereor they'll run from looking here and then
they leave their bags like this inhere. They left so you left water
(08:00):
or cooke? See, so thiswasn't too too old. I mean that
they're not even Moldy, so hewas probably a runner in the fift'antuna.
It's holds the juggle water. They'rein there, tons of them all through
time. There's some more carpet, some more carpet there there. What you
(08:22):
might not know is that China, our number one adversary on the international stage,
and a country that has its sitesset on replacing the United States as
the global military and economic superpower,is partnering with the cartels to make those
drugs more potent, dangerous, anddeadly. That cartels are making hundreds of
(08:48):
millions of dollars. Florida congressmen andretired Green Beret Michael Waltz has advised presidents
on national security, the Chinese arepumping this poison into our system, and
it's all over the country, andthis administration is not doing a damn thing
about it. He believes America shouldbe on high alert as China corners certain
(09:09):
strategic markets that are essential to ourlives. They've now gobbled up ninety percent
of the global pharmaceuticals market. Weno longer make penicillin in this country,
we no longer make any biotics,We no longer make oncology meads, so
They've gobbled up our pharmaceuticals, They'vegobbled up our mineral supplies. They are
(09:30):
now gobbling up the food supplies. The fact is China is the backbone of
the Mexican cartels. Overdose and drugpoisoning deaths are piling up on American soil.
We know who's responsible, and we'redoing nothing about it. We got
to realize that final deaths in theUnited States are murders. China is murdering
(09:54):
American citizens. China expert, lawyerand author of the Coming Collapse of China,
Gordon Chang explains how China is deeplyinvolved in every aspect of the fentanyl
crisis. He warns that if wedon't take action now, we could eventually
lose our way of life. Thesefetinyl gangs that either make the drug itself
(10:16):
or make the compounds, they arelarge, they're far flung, they're international
in scope, and in a neartotal surveillance state which China now operates.
These gangs could not do anything withoutnot only the knowledge of Beijing and the
Communist Party, but also with theirapproval, and in many cases we believe
that the Communist Party cadres actually benefitfinancially from this. We also know,
(10:41):
Sarah that the financial the state financialsystem, in the state banks in China,
they launder the proceeds of the fentanylgangs. So these are this is
a Chinese central government and the CommunistParty are behind these fetinyl deaths, and
we should be treating these as China'smurders of American citizens. Meanwhile, the
(11:09):
families of poisoning victims are literally cryingout in the hope that someone will do
something to prevent the same sad storyfrom happening to another family. Here's the
crazy part. So for COVID,within thirty days, everybody in this country
(11:31):
knew three things where a mass socialdistance. Wash your hands every day,
We had a ticker on the TVall over and they had how many cases
there were, how many people died, how many people were in the hospital.
We are nine years into this centinelcrisis and we're only counting the dead
and we only get those numbers ayear and a half after the fact.
(11:54):
For a crisis is evolving by theday. How many people have poisonings fentelings
every day in this country who survived? Nobody knows. Yeah, we're trying
to respond to a crisis. WhatWe don't even know how big it is,
we don't know who it's affecting ithow, and yet they keep trying
to say they're addressing it, butthey're not. Virginia Krieger and families like
(12:16):
hers are being devastated by the fetnolpoisoning and drug epidemic. Our inability to
address this crisis early on left thedoor open for China and other adversaries to
target our nation and ultimately use theweapon of narcotics against US. China has
(12:43):
compromised almost every aspect of American life. Former Guatemalan intelligence chief Mario d'Arte works
closely with US intelligence agencies. He'sconcerned that China's influence is not only spreading
in in America, but right hereat home. Technology, telecommunications, the
(13:07):
presidency, our medicine supply, nowour land, even the minds of our
young people. They have managed toget into literally into the head of the
United States, and they're controlling Ithink a lot of the power strings in
our country. Unfortunately, the thingis that a lot of people are noticing
it, and I'm hoping that moreand more people and more people from Senator
(13:28):
and Congress are going to start pushingour agencies to be more aggressive. China
(13:50):
and America are at war. Thisis not a traditional war on a battlefield,
not yet, but it is irregularwarfare, and it is being waged
using economics and in the media.American institutions like the NBA and Hollywood studios
(14:13):
regularly gravel before Beijing. Meanwhile,Americans are being lied to. Even our
own house speaker, Nancy Pelosi isdownplaying China's intentions. We still support the
one China policy. We go thereto acknowledge the status quo is what our
policy is. There is nothing disruptiveabout that. It was only about saying
(14:37):
a China is one of the freestsocieties in the world. Bill Gertz of
The Washington Times says there's a deliberatestrategy of lies out of Beijing to boost
its ambitions and weaken the United States. They've dropped all pretense in their current
propaganda. They view the United Statesas main enemy, and they're using increasingly
(15:03):
sophisticated disinformation and propaganda operation to discreditthe United States, to divide US internally
against politically, racially in every possibleway that they can. Because they know
and they understand that their system canonly survive. It's a communist system which
is built on false principles of thiswhole notion that you can fix the problems
(15:28):
in the world through ending capitalism andimposing socialism on everyone, and that's really
the guiding principle there. Retired CIAStation chief Daniel Hoffman is frustrated by our
government's refusal to be honest about thethreats posed by China. He says it's
a disservice to the American people andfurther endangerous national security. President Reagan one
(15:56):
of the greatest things he did wasto tell all of us in very clear
terms where we stood in our ideologicalfight against the Soviet Union and what that
administration, his administration was doing aboutit. We're not doing that right now.
I'm not sure that Americans understand aswell as they should, just the
(16:17):
ubiquitous nature of China's threats, howsignificant they are to our national security,
and maybe most importantly, what weall need to be doing about it.
And it might involve some sacrifice onthe part of American citizens, which is
why the President needs to address them. Our failure to expose the truth and
to address the issues at the borderthat are allowing our enemies to fund proxy
(16:40):
groups targeting our nation and its globalinterests puts our nation at great risk.
Many of China's actions blindside us,from intellectual property theft to loaning our neighbors
in Central America billions of dollars inan attempt to exert their influence worldwide.
The United States neglect of the regionis leaving the door wide open for China
(17:07):
to offer money, infrastructure, technicalassistance, and other expertise to Latin American
nations that are eager to solve someof the problems their people face. Former
Guatemalan intelligence chief Mario d'Arte warns thatmany times it's a setup. When there's
(17:36):
an investment from other countries, Chinacomes soon offers these deals to the American
countries, all these weeds loaded witha lot of corruption, and what happens
later on. It's exactly what happened, for instance in Jibuti where they got
the sport, and when when thegovernment wasn't able to pay to pay the
Chinese, they took over the sport. These actions are coming without a response
(18:02):
from the United States, and it'sleaving our Latin American allies like Guatemalan President
Alejandra Jamati wondering whether the United Statesleadership is primed for a comeback or gone
forever. He spoke candidly about thison a visit I made to Guatemala City
this summer. For many years, the United States has forgotten about this part
(18:27):
of the hemisphere, about Latin America. The result of forgetting is that others
have taken over China, Russia. They've been taking over China by building stadiums
in exchange for isolating Taiwan, butthey also put countries in debt to keep
them in checks. I am notwant to send messages, but I think
(18:47):
it's time for the United States toget its house in order if they want
to reclaim the hegemony in the freeworld. If they don't get ready quickly,
the free world as we know it, the world that we would like,
the democratic world, the world ofrespect between nations, the world where
the rulers respect the govern the worldof a free economy. We would be
at the end of the road. It's important to understand that we must recover
(19:11):
those principles that seem to have beenforgotten. President Geomata's warning should strike fear
into the hearts of Americans. Ifwe stop helping our neighbors grow their economies,
we are making ourselves more vulnerable toour enemies right here in our own
hemisphere. They see that weakness asa weapon that can be used against us
(19:36):
and our allies. For example, the case of Guatemala. We have talked
repeatedly about turning Guatemala into a wallof prosperity where Guatemalans don't have to leave.
What do we need? I toldthe delegation of congressmen that came last
week. Instead of having a lotof factories in China, yarn factories for
(20:00):
example, or other places, ifthey would move them to this part of
America, and the United States wouldgive some tax breaks to those companies for
moving their factories from China to Guatemala, for instance, we would be generating
thousands of jobs. A person witha job makes no one of the family
members want to leave because they havegood jobs, are well paid, and
(20:22):
they would be very pleased here.So the United States policy must change as
well in terms of supporting its allies, and that there are a few of
them left. China is even tryingto beat America to the punch when it
comes to energy, and many ofthe investments we're making as a nation to
expand green energy and end our relianceon foreign oil and gas are stabbing American
(20:48):
workers in the back. China isquickly cornering the market on wind turbines and
solar panels. Peter Schweitzer of theGovernment Accountability Institute says this leaves American manufacturers
unable to compete in the global economy. We did have under Donald Trump tariffs
(21:08):
that would help American solar panel companiescompete against the Chinese, who were,
of course being subsidized by their government. But guess what, Joe Biden got
rid of those tariffs, got ridof those protections on the American solar industry.
So what's literally going to happen iseighty percent of the economic benefit of
the renewable energy component of this billis going to end up benefiting China because
(21:33):
that's where the technology is going tobe bought, and China is going to
be the new OPAQ when it comesto green energy. Beyond the global economy,
Bill Gert says, China's propaganda machine, it's energy strategy, it's Latin
American meddling and using the drug cartelsas proxies against the United States are threatening
(21:55):
our lives, freedom, and ourculture. We have to understand that we're
facing a threat that's beyond just somekind of strategic competition, that it's an
adversarial and enemy relationship. And Ithink if we can do that, then
(22:15):
we can begin to pass legislation ina bipartisan fashion that would address some of
these threats. Whether it's the borderfentanel, whether it's buying up land in
the United States to use against us. Of those are the kinds of things
that we need to do. First. China is not our friend. It's
(22:44):
doing a number of things to destabilizethe United States. In addition to dividing
us from our allies, it's nowattacking our families and children. Derrett Maltz
is a former Special Agent in Chargeat the DA. He believes the unholy
(23:06):
alliance between Mexican cartels and China isdealing a death blow to our communities.
The cartels are the enemy of ourchildren. They are basically taking advantage of
the weak security at the border andthe vulnerabilities. They are operating like a
global terrorist organization. They're killing moreAmericans than any terrorist organization that I'm aware
(23:30):
of in the history of this country. We're losing nine thousand Americans a month.
Every five minutes, we're losing somebody. Families are waking up devastated every
single day. Some kids as youngas thirteen years old, they go up
to the room. The parent findsthe kid blue dead in the bedroom because
they don't know what they're taken.Chinese President Shi jing Ping publicly promised President
(23:55):
Trump that his country would clamp downon the exporting of fentnol. That's not
what's happening. While the shipments ofcompleted fetanol pills decrease significantly, Malt said,
the Chinese Communist Party is simply sendingthe ingredients for this deadly poison to
the Mexican cartels. The chemicals, the precursor chemicals, are coming out of
(24:17):
Asia, predominantly China. Right.China's producing these chemicals in their labs all
over the place, and they havecontainers. They ship the containers to the
ports in Mexico. The ports areso corrupt and the cartels own the ports
that the chemicals come in with noproblem. They go to their lab operations.
They have industrial sized labs like frommeth. They're producing ton quantities every
(24:41):
couple of days because they have asteady supply of the precursors. The addiction
crisis isn't just China or the cartel'sfault. They are the suppliers, but
we're the buyers. When it cameto opioid addiction in the United States,
it began with our own pharmaceutical copiesin the late nineteen nineties. Those companies
(25:03):
reassured doctors and nurses that patients wouldn'tbecome addicted to pain relievers, and then
they were prescribed at overwhelming rates.By the time two seventeen rolled around and
the federal government declared a public healthemergency, it was too late. America's
addiction was soaring, and our enemiessaw this weakness and organized to exploit it.
(25:30):
According to the Brookings Institution, morethan a hundred and seven thousand Americans
died from overdoses in two twenty one, with more than seventy percent of those
deaths caused by opioids. The truthis a lot of these deaths are from
poisonings using counterfeit pills. With China'sfetnall supply, China is finding the Mexican
(25:56):
cartels to be an eager partner inmoving opiates, meth and precursor chemicals,
which are the compounds necessary to makefentyl a weapon of mass destruction. They're
taking a pill that they think isa harmless pill like xanax, because they
(26:17):
want to chill out for exams orsomething, and suddenly it's licensed fentyl in
their debt. Texas Congressman Chip Roy, and that's happening. One pill,
you're dead. And we've had afamous University of Texas football star, we
had an NFL star recently. We'vehad numerous people in the district I represent
where you end up having multiple debts. You'll have somebody who took fentyl knowingly
(26:41):
or unknowingly, but usually unknowingly becauseit's laced on something they thought would saved.
They go into cardiac arres. Someonethere tries to help them, and
then they go into cardiac arres fromthe transitive property of this very very dangerous
narcotic. The American people don't understandwhat's happening. This makes the cocaine epidemic
of the eighties look trivial. Howis this happening and why is our government
(27:06):
powerless to stop it? The fentylbeing mixed together in the Mexican labs is
fifty to one hundred times more potentthan morphine. Derek Maltz. They have
the chemists down there, they haveall the operatives they need, They make
to stop, and then they blitchthe border. They get their routes into
California, into Arizona, and youknow, into Texas. Cartel's love making
(27:32):
synthetic narcotics because they're easier and cheaperto produce. According to The New York
Times, cartels no longer need hugefields or enormous amounts of labor to grow
their drug ingredients. They can createa tremendous amount of fentenol and small,
virtually undetectable locations. This also allowsfor the creation of much more powerful drugs
(28:00):
that can be smuggled into the USin smaller amounts. Our government's response to
this crisis is far too weak, and this passive reaction has people like Derek
Maltz appalled. Just so hypothetical,if Al Qaeda had one pound of chemical
(28:21):
weapons in Mexico, the entire USgovernment would be all over that and going
after that and trying to keep itout of our country. Right, But
you're talking about already seized forty ninehundred pounds in the first five months of
fentonmol pentomol is killing. The DALab just did a recent study and they
analyzed these counterfeit pills right and theydetermined that twenty six percent of them had
(28:44):
a ref dose. So if youlook at DA Phoenix alone, last year,
they reported six million counterfeit opie pillswere seized that could have killed with
no exaggeration, like one point fivemillion Americans just based on the DA Lab
statistics on lethal posts right now.Don't get me wrong. Not every pill
is going to kill. For onepill can kill, and that's the point.
(29:10):
Like Malt says, we need tofollow the money money. China ships
precursor chemicals to the Mexican cartels. The cartels make cheap and deadly pills with
(29:32):
those ingredients and ship them to theUnited States. Once those drugs are here,
they are exchanged for money at ahuge profit. Moving that money around
is becoming a lot easier. Inthe age of global banking. Drug money
from the US can be moved toChinese banks with just a few clicks on
(29:52):
a smartphone app. Once this moneyis in those Chinese banks, US lawn
for sent can't touch it. SimoneLadine is a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of
Defense who is familiar with counter terrorismand delicit funding. It is very clear
that Chinese criminal groups, suppliers, and consumers play a significant role in Mexican
(30:22):
drug trafficking, both in the supplyof precursors and in the laundering of funds
that are derived from drug trafficking. There are not too many steps between these
criminal groups and the CCP. Ithink there's a very good argument that you
could make that maybe the government itselfhas inserted a couple of layers between themselves
(30:45):
and these criminal groups to make itlook like they're not supported by the government.
But anyone who has any understanding atall of the modern Chinese police state
knows that they are tracking everything, they are aware of everything, and the
Chinese Communist Party is well aware ofwhat's going on. James Carafano, who
(31:10):
is the leading national security and foreignpolicy expert with the Heritage Foundation, says,
there is direct evidence that the CCPis involved in the financing, manufacturing,
and exportation of illicit narcotics. Whenwe're looking at the numbers that we're
looking at, it is impossible tomove that kind of cash through a legal
(31:32):
system, and at the end ofthe day, you want to be a
return of that usable cast that youcan use in the West, not just
in China. So of course, anybody who thinks that Chinese entities are not
involved in money laundering and that thisisn't being done without the consent of the
Chinese government, this is just nonsense. Why is this money so hard to
(31:52):
track down? Why are we allowingthis to happen? Simone Ladine says,
to clamp down on money laundering worldwide, we need to commit to stopping it
here first. Globally, money launderingis such a big problem because people benefit
from all that money. The peoplewho should be enforcing actions against this criminal
(32:15):
activity are actually profiting off of itinstead, and we see that, we
see that around the world. Whatis the number one money laundering country in
the world. It's the United Statesof America. And despite that, our
nation is in a constant internal struggleto target its adversaries. Unfortunately, because
(32:40):
we aren't cleaning our own house,we may not be following the breadcrumbs that
could end up exposing our enemies.Because China and the cartels aren't just after
our money they want our land tofor China. Increasingly there are no boarders.
(33:13):
In two twenty one, a realestate purchasing group that included a retired
general from the Chinese military bought onehundred and thirty thousand acres of land near
Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas. They said it was for
a windmill project, but that basejust happens to be where many of our
(33:36):
pilots are trained. This company isconnected to the Chinese Communist Party. Texas
Congressman Brian Babin, it's my understandingthat there is a retired Chinese general that
is one of the big personages inthis purchase. And when you look one
hundred and thirty thousand acres in Texasalone, you check and see and there's
(33:58):
over. There's over. In fact, nearly five million acres that is owned
of agricultural land that is owned inTexas by foreigners. But this is our
adversary, our chief, major adversaryof the world today is China. Another
group with ties to the Chinese CommunistParty purchased three hundred acres of farmland in
(34:24):
Grand Forks, North Dakota, abouta twenty minute drive to the Air Force
base. There That's especially alarming becauseit is where a lot of top secret
information regarding our military's drone programs iskept. But lands near our military installations
(34:45):
are not the only places Chinese investorswant to buy. Between April twenty twenty
one and May two, twenty two, Chinese investors scooped up more than six
point one billion dollars worth of UShomes, and as interest rates surge,
(35:07):
pricing many Americans out of the market, Chinese investors aren't sweating it. Why
because they're paying all in cash andavoiding those raids. If that isn't enough,
Texas Congressmanship Roy says China is targetingour food supply. They're buying up
(35:30):
agriculture in farmland, They're buying upmeat processing plans, and we're asleep in
the switch. I've introduced legislation toban anybody affiliated with a Chinese communist party
from buying land. I'm going tocontinue to fight that message. I think
it ought to be a central pillarto our national security message as Republicans.
To prevent that, we could banthat tomorrow. In fact, the Texas
(35:52):
legislature should ban non Texans from owningTexas dirt. I think the Texas legislat
drawing to say no, I don'teven I don't care, even if you're
from another part of the United States. We want texanstone, Texas land.
Businesses connected to the Chinese Communist Partyare investing in education, technology, space,
(36:12):
agriculture, and real estate throughout theglobe. They are purchasing land in
the United States with a strategy inmind. In Oklahoma, the beautiful terrain,
the farmlands. I visited with GovernorStitt. I went on horseback,
(36:35):
and I'm familiar with the area.We have friends there. But guess what
underneath that land are natural resources,so abundant oil and the farmland itself is
a national security treasure. In Oklahoma, Chinese entities we're buying up farmland and
other resources and even influencing local polis. Governor Kevin Stitt gives us a simpler
(37:02):
explanation for what's happening in his state. China doesn't have the resources to even
feed their own population, so theyare looking to have agricultural land, different
things, farming land and all over, which we need to be very very
cautious of. This isn't just aboutfood being made in America and shipped overseas.
(37:24):
And large quantities. Some worry thatdiseases introduced both inadvertently and on purpose,
will decimate the American farming industry.Think about how COVID shut down the
world, and where that originated fromand where that virus was really created.
And you think about foreign animal diseaseoutbreaks African swine fever. When we have
(37:49):
these outbreaks. We have a hugepork industry. We supply pork in Oklahoma
around the country. We're the numbertwo beef producer in the country here in
Oklahoma, and if you can enterdouce some of those things, you could
really hurt the domestic food supply. Is China really making these land purchases for
the reasons it says? Governors stitand Oklahoma lawmakers are busy working to block
(38:15):
foreign interest from buying land. Theysay they must stop the CCP from taking
advantage of loopholes and drug laws thatlead to an increase in harmful illegal activities.
We've passed about ten different laws thisyear. We've made it illegal to
purchase land if you're a Chinese foreignnational. Foreign national is not allowed to
(38:36):
own agricultural or farmland, but we'reseeing them move in through straw buyers.
So that's what we're trying to attacknow, and really we think it's kind
of for profit. It's the medicalmarijuana industry that we passed several years back,
and so they're coming in and puttinggrow houses together illegally selling marijuana,
(38:58):
not through the States dispensary network formedicine, but they're actually doing it illegally
for recreational all over. So weput a stop to that. I stopped
all new licenses to be approved. We put a moratorium on those for two
years. We've done some huge drugbus so we're trying to get control of
it. Oklahoma is a rare exceptionwhen it comes to confronting Chinese land grabs
(39:20):
in the US. Washington Times nationalsecurity correspondent and China expert Bill Gertz says
the Chinese are benefiting as the Americangovernment and business community mostly waffle over how
to respond, weighing short term financialgains versus long term security. China is
(39:42):
a revolutionary communist state which views theUnited States as its mortal enemy, and
so everything that they do, whetherit's economic or commercial, has a military
or a strategic component to it,and so that's why they're buying up land
again. The Committee on Foreign Investmentin the United States was supposed to have
been strengthened to try and take alook at these issues and whether they're whether

they should be buying land or otherplaces or businesses in the United States.

to take action now. We areselling out our nation from under our noses
to our detriment. Houses are moreexpensive than ever, our farmland is increasingly
controlled by foreign interests, and we'reputting our national security at risks. China's
(40:55):
increasing its influence around the world, but it is especially positioning itself to be
on America's doorstep. But what ifI told you that China and it's cartel
buddies aren't just knocking on the door, They're already here in ways you haven't
(41:15):
even thought of. This problem ismanifesting in the form of illegal rose,
natural resources being stolen, citizens beingthreatened, but we've also found, you
know, ten dead bodies of theseillegal immigrants who are indentured servants working there.
In our next episode, we'll explorehow the cartels are operating inside the

United States. I'm Sarah Carter.I hope you'll join me then
