Aunque se puede enfermar por este virus a cualquier edad, los bebés son especialmente susceptibles a esta infección, que puede llegar a ser muy grave en menores de un año. El Virus Respiratorio Sincitial es la principal causa de bronquiolitis, muy habitual en menores de 2 años. Otro dato: el 75% de los bebés van a infectarse por VRS, de forma leve o grave, en su primer año de vida.
