Speaker 1 (00:00):
From downtown Spokane, USA, from the k HQ building in
the Numerica studios.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
This is the Dave and Molly show.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Everything well here now right feel the good field Thursday.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
It's the gateway day.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Oh man, this is for you.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
It's a gateway too. Well, you still have a little
bit of work, but then travel and stuff.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Oh there's some travel all right.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Yeah, how was the day? How did it go? Something
great on the golf course?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Well, I was thinking, remember how I was very confident.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Yes, you were.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
It was very very confident. And then I we've finished
the stuff here, I'm on the road. And then I
had timed out a phone call for my son because
we had to coordinate all the stuff for this weekend.
So I said call in this window and it was perfect.
So I'm driving and I like to have phone COMversations
(01:00):
while I'm driving. So I get out there and I'm
in great shape. I was kind of a no man's
land because my original plan was if I got done
early here, I was going to go home real quick,
just kind of assess, say hello to the dog and
all that kind of stuff. Well that wasn't going to work,
so but that gave me more time to get out
to quarterline.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
It's just nice buffer time.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
So we're I'm driving and then I have to I
get to pretty much the resort. I get the get
off on the freeway there, and then I park on
the side of the road because we're still having our
conversation and we're talking and coordinating all this stuff. And
then and then I look and it's ten after one
(01:44):
and the tea time is at one thirty. Oh no,
And I'm right there. But still it's like I've been chating.
I said, I gotta go.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
So I get there, you know, pull up to the
gate and I said, well, about time you're here. Your
friends have been here for a while, and I said,
I know, I'm I am always coming in late. So
I get there, but I'm so no practice or anything
like that. Get there, grab the cart, go hit a
perfect drive.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
And the wind.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
It's windy out there, yeah, and smoky. There was some
smoke coming in from I don't know, the central part
of the state and Canada and Montana wherever wherever there
were fires, there was smoke in that area, which I
did not notice at all.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
In Spokane, well out on the west plains it got
pretty bad too, but I think a lot of that
might have been dust. It's hard to tell. It was witty, like.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
The wind kicked everything up. Yeah. Yeah, So anyway, so
I birdied the first hole.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
That's what you said, was you said, if I can
burdy the first hole, it's going to be a great round.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
And that's what I was thinking.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
And it was still very good, but I get it
was a great stretch. I was even par after six holes. Wow,
I'm like, I'm thinking, maybe today's the day. And I
felt like this would building.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
And now are you playing as well or better as.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Your pals at that point? Better?
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Okay? Now is their birdie juice involved?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
There be yes, but like.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Your first birdie, your birdie the first hole you take in.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Well, it was just kind of because because we were
a little bit like, hey, let's go time and yeah,
so we kind of.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Settled because I would think if I had a birdie
on the first hole, I would be like, no, I'm
not having the birdie juice because this could be the
greatest round of my life and I don't want to
stay I want to be present for it.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Oh I'm still present. I might be extra present. So uh,
and then the on the second hole which is a
very tough hole. I almost chipped it in for a birdie.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Yeah, so I'm like, I'm feeling my my my, it
was a tap in par like I didn't even need
my putter. Was wow, it was I don't know what
is that? A foot less than a foot? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah, so everything was.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
It was a great start and then I ran into
a few little problems here and there, but still still
a very good front, a decent back, a good day
of golf.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yeah, And there were holes where the wind, you know,
the wind coming off the lake.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
The floating green was a two club extra.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Oh yeah, so that that did anybody make it on?
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Nobody made it on? Wow, nobody made it on. There
was one where the ball was going up and yeah,
or the wind it just kind of held it.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
And yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
So but there was there was. It was a great
day out there. The course was was was beautiful. There
was a little deer running through and it was just
everything that it was supposed to be. It was just
absolutely perfect. I do have to say special hello to
Lillian who maybe maybe was mid twenties and my friend Tom.
(04:58):
I was playing with Tom and Leslie. He had his
Dave and Molly hat On. So they go up to
the to the cart girl and she says, oh, David, Mollie,
I love them. And Tom says, well, you know right
over here, you know, it kind of points to my car.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
And I said, Hi, I'm Mollie. You know, very it's
very funny.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
That one's funny. Yeah, I like to say I'm Dave
and it really it really cracks him up.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
It's hilarious to go to a bit. But I was
very She said, oh, yeah, I listen every day. And
I was very surprised. She said that she grew up
with us. She said, well, my mom would take us
to school and we would always listen to Dave, Ken
and Mollie. And then I now I listened to David
Mollie and I said, well that's super cool. And I
(05:45):
said thank you, and I said I will mention that
tomorrow on the program.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
So, I don't know if she's ever texted in or anything,
but I was very It was it was nice that
it was a very young person. Yeah, you know, younger
than you know most So I.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Ran into a listener yesterday who was on a commercial
for you and Ken when you were at Hastings selling
your CDs and then you were making commercials and you
asked if they wanted to be on the commercial and
she said, sure, I've listened every day. I'll be on
your commercial. That's how long they've been listening.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
That's third yes there, twenty five yes, yeah, yeaheah, Because
I think the first CD was in ninety three or
ninety four.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
It wasn't the one that it wasn't the two thousand,
It was one of the ones you guys, and I
think maybe it was your first one.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, our listeners are everywhere.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
Yeah, that's a wide ring.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
It was a really good day. We had a great,
great time, fun fun group. Our caddie was and I
had never had him before, a new guy, and I
always like to kind of assess. I said, soh do
you play golf all? Or Actually I had heard that
the Gonzaga He went to Gonzaga, And I said, so
(07:03):
did you? Did you we were on the golf team
at Gonzaga. He says no, but I was on the
baseball team. And I said, oh that's pretty good. He said, oh, yeah,
I'm a baseball player, but you know, I love golf
and all kinds of stuff. And so I said oh,
how well do you read Putts? And well, you know,
I'm out here every day, so he is. He was
working his twentieth out of twenty one days.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
So yeah, And I said, well that's I said, well,
do you have you know days off in there? He
says no, I love it. He says, this is great.
So that was great. So nice kid. And so then
the and we were moving pretty good because I was thinking,
you know, usually at the resorts, know it'sok five hours
because you know, you've got the floating green involved in
(07:44):
the boat and sometimes there was waiting. We were smooth,
we were we were done in four fifteen.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Yeah, really good for that. Yeah. And and so that
was perfect because I was going to the spoken An
Indians game right after.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
But I was also starving because I was thinking, well,
feeding time, feeding time, Yeah, and I didn't. We had
no food while we were playing.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Did you eat before between here and there?
Speaker 6 (08:12):
Though?
Speaker 5 (08:12):
You are?
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I had a filet of fish, but only a file
of fish, no fries, no fries.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
I've cut back.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
So so we finished all that and and uh, and
I was telling the caddy, I said, well, I'm uh
you know.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
He says, hey, you guys.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Hanging out after and everything, and everybody had places to go,
and I said, I said, well, I kind of wish
I was. I'm starving. I said, but I'm going to
the Indians baseball game because all my friend's pitching tonight.
So he knew, you know, He says, yeah, I got
a couple of friends that played for the and I
think he may have played for the end. I don't
know how he had a connection to that, so that
(08:50):
was kind of a thing. Yeah, So I back on
the freeway. I get to the baseball game, and I
was thinking I was going to be late. Well I'm
basically right on time. So I run into all the
you know, traffic and the parking and all that kind
of stuff.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
And you're still haven't eaten.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Way, yes, still had not eaten.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Well, this is this is making me panic.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
I was.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
I was getting a little drifty, and I think I
had gone too far to where like when you're so
drifty that even when you do eat, you don't ever.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Come out of that.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
The red light was on.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
The red light was on, and I was I was
really tired. It had been a full day. Yeah, So anyway,
I park, I get in Nadine was about fifteen minutes
after I was, or maybe ten minutes after, and.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
It was full. It was.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
It was a full crowd last night. Yeah, they had
a Yeah, it was a big How was it?
Speaker 5 (09:47):
What?
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Had the wind died down a little bit by the
time you.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
A little bit, But from from the seats, it wasn't
windy at all. In fact, I would have liked a
nice little breeze because I was still kind of warm.
But you could see the flags in the outfield and
they were blowing like crazy, so we were kind of
kind of protected. So she gets there and I said, man,
I'm starving. She says, well, let's wait until you know,
the next half inning, you know, so we're not you know,
(10:14):
getting up during walking in front of people because every
seat was taken.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
It was.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
It was full.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
So so we go up to you know, the concessions, and.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I get a piece of pizza, which.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
They do not you know, they give you a real
piece of beta. It's a big slice. Yeah I got
that and hot dog.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I can't believe that. Here's the thing. When I get
to that panic zone, there's no way I would have waited.
I would have gotten in and I had gone straight
to concessions, and I would have been eating, and then
then when she arrived, I would have casually said yeah,
I could nash, and then you go, you get a
second thing, so she doesn't get to see the big consumption.
(10:57):
It looks like, yeah, I've managed myself well, but you
know what, maybe I'll have a hot dog. I couldn't
and no one needed to know, that's right.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Yeah, so the concession guy says that back again, are
you I was?
Speaker 2 (11:10):
I was.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
I was close to fading off into and I might
have been close to passing away.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
But at least you know how to rise. That's good. Yeah,
so people don't.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
So that was great, and uh the whole game, Uh no,
we left. I think it was probably the seventh. It
was after Ribby came out. You know, Ribby doesn't come
out till the the middle of the sixth inning.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Really, oh boy, everybody goes crazy for Ribby and there's.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
A little dance and then I had the little fish
behind him too. Have you seen that with the little kids.
They're all dressed little Ribby outfits and they trot along
behind and they do.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
The little thing.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
It's it's and everybody loves that everybody's you know, it's okay.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
I think so.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
So that was great, man, I was, I was. I
was spent.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Got home and washed off a little bit, and you
might have you might be ready. It could have been
some dust that was kicked up with all the wind yesterday.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
So I got home. My dog was very, very excited.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
She was leaping about, and so UH did did a
couple of house things. I tried to get my computer
to work again, because it was yesterday. Remember I brought
it in and it was hot and it wasn't working.
And then it was in my car the whole time
when I was at the golf course and at the
(12:37):
baseball game, and I thought, oh, it's going to be
hot again. It's not going to work. So last night
I plug it in and still nothing. I said, damn it.
So then I then I'm thinking, well how am I
going to handle this? And everything? Well, then this morning,
first thing I do, I try to get it going
fires right up, It's perfect, everything is fine.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
I've had it happen. I don't know what happened. I
don't know how. It just fixes itself. Yeah, somehow, it's
a fixer. It's a fixer. Well I'm glad it's working,
because that's a pain, a huge pain.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
And it's it's with all the stuff going on. Because
my plan is to take it with me on the trip.
I just think there's going to be some things I'll
have to, yeah, you know, keep up with. So, but
went right to sleep, fell asleep very quick. The alarm
was two minutes into uh, the alarm before I woke up,
(13:32):
you know, because it it goes off at four and
I'm hearing I'm hearing music and everything, and I'm like
out of it and I look at the thing and
it's four o two.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
So it took me a while to kind of wake up.
So I slept hard, hard for you.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah. And we had the sleep Vibe guy in yesterday
and a.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
Lot of heat on the sleep five.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yes, So I call it a good I call it
a very very good day. And I still have and
I don't know when I'm going to be able to
eat it, but I'll have a bunch of the lasagna
left over. And last night, of course I had the
big pizza and hot dog.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
I'm good.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
And then today we leave here and we have a
lunch thing. Yeah, and so maybe tonight I will eat
more lass onia.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yeah, you got to eat it up before you have to.
Your daughter could eat it. You could say, look at daddy,
did Daddy made you look? I slave over a stove
for you, over a microwave, and it's there.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I'm going to leave it behind.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
So yeah, good, good full day.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
I only had the one birdie, but boy, I had opportunities.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Man, oh man, it was a good day. Well, good,
a good day of GalF.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Well.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
You were doing what you do best, and I was
doing what I do best, casino ing, visit multiple casinos. Yes,
oh yeah. So I I left here and I was
on the phone as well. Well, there was a little
a tussle before I left here, uh, with one of
the people in my in.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
My sphere, your sphere.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Uh yeah. And you know, it comes to a point
where the the effort is the only word that's going
to suffice. It's the only word that's going to truly
convey how I feel. And sometimes it can just be
a simplest little comment that one of the youngers in
the world will make, and I lose my mind and
(15:27):
I think of the years of what I have done,
and and the the the money, the sacrifice, the sleep,
the health at the time that I've put in and
and then and then to get this in return. Sometimes
you snap, You just snap, You go ahead and snap.
And so that was happening, which was not It wasn't.
(15:48):
It was like I just thought, you know, and now
I'm putting my phone away, there'll be no more. So
I was on the phone with my mom heading out
west and telling her.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
She has a calming effect.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Uh yeah, and and and we laugh about it. And
then she'll say, how did we end up here? How
do we end up? I wonder sometimes when I'm dealing
with some of it, and I just think, how how
is this my life?
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Like?
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Why am I talking to these people and entertaining and
letting them get to me? You know? So because I
my nature is to take care of and to always
keep everybody safe and happy. So it goes against my
nature to say, now now you've lost that in me,
so now you're on your own. It's hard for me
(16:34):
to do that.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
But they'll win it back, do you think.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Probably eventually, but not soon, not soon, not this time,
not this time. And here's the other thing. When there's
people who have a lot of time invested, who I
know and I love that's one thing. But when it's
somebody who's new to the group who starts it on
me early, I have no affinity, I have no relationship,
and I have no desire to really make that happen.
(16:59):
They haven't not enough equity yet, so I don't know.
The phrase I don't know who the hell they think
they're talking to came up. It was like, who the
hell do you think you are? Oh my god, you
just got here like study. So I said, I'm putting
the phone down and I'm doing what I love the best.
And my mom said, you go gamble, you go to
your church, and I said, I'm going to my church,
(17:20):
and so I went and I ran into some very
nice listeners. So I did go because Senior Day and I.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Was like, okay, oh that's right on Wednesday, Senior Day.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Well, I came out and it was around three point thirty.
The sky it was like the West Plains. First of all,
was extremely windy. Even my car was moving around. And
you know our friend Carl, our listener, Carl who brought
us the wings at the meetup. He has the RV
right now, so he was meeting up with Ken yesterday
(17:49):
to exchange it and take it to Lewiston and I said,
how did how did it go? Because it was very
windy and I was, you know, but he's used to
driving those kinds of vehicles and he said, he said,
it drove really well, only one thousand miles to Mexico.
I'm doing great. I said, okay, Well, I said, don't
drink the water. Have fun. So anyway, he made it down.
(18:10):
He sent me a picture of it and everything. But
it was and I could feel it in my teeth,
so I know it was dust as well. So you know,
traveling from one church to the other, sometimes you have
different gods that you're praying to. And so then I
arrived and and then then it was like a new
It was like a different new atmosphere. And at Northern
(18:32):
Quest I ran into some very nice listeners and one
of them I will not say his name. He reported
that he was not able to listen to our show
yesterday because his ear pods went ahead and ended up
in the urinal. I yeah, and then and then his
wife was like, yeah, gross, And I said, well, I
(18:54):
hope you get new ones. He goes, well, I'm sterilizing
for something. Anyway, it was a funny conversation. But here's
my question to you, what is proper etiquette if somebody
if you're playing slot machine and somebody comes up to
chat with you, do you keep pushing the button while
you talk or are you supposed to stop?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Very good question, and it has happened before. Yeah, I
think there. I think once you are into a longer conversation,
I think it's okay to just kind of and reference it.
Yeah and yeah, and I also agree yeah, yeah, And
then you just kind of hit and then you kind
of glance and see did I hit something? And then
you're you're still You're still you're doing both. You're doing both.
(19:33):
If it's just if somebody's walking by and just saying hi,
then you stop. But if it turns into a conversation,
I think you're okay to keep tapping a little bit.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
And then I always feel bad too, if like if
somebody comes up right as you know, somebody you know
or whatever, right as you were about to leave a machine, oh,
because then you feel like, well, I don't want you
to think. Or I also feel bad if somebody sits
down right next to me and I instantly get up,
and I sometimes will make I'll say to them, well, hope,
but treat you better than treated me, because I don't
(20:07):
want them to think I got up because of them, right,
You never want that. The hit five situation. You know
all the things that I did last week that were
or last time month Sunday whenever, those those things didn't
pan out. The hit five thing, the small one was
up to fifty six dollars, so I thought it's got
to hit. Hop got hit yeah, and it didn't hit
(20:31):
for me. But I got six well not the first
time I played it, but I came back six bonuses,
six bonus rounds. None of them. One of them was
over one hundred. The rest were all like forty sixty whatever.
But I couldn't believe you know that sound and You're like,
no way is it. Oh, it's happening again. And I
got like the eight freeze almost every time. I never
(20:53):
got more than eight things, but so that was fun.
And then I was kind of just wandering around and
I thought, well, need dinner, so I will get q Doba,
which I did some of them, but I had used
all my I had a bunch of free money and
I used my comps for the kids question and stuff.
So I sometimes I have them and sometimes I don't.
But it was half of it, which was good. Fifteen
(21:16):
bucks were salad there, fifteen bucks I'll do. But but
it was it was hardy. It was in one of
those shells.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Hold you.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Oh it held me all right. I think it. I
think you know how you were on the red You
know how if you overfill your tank and you can
see that it's at the line and then passed it
because you've talked it off. That was me last night.
I was like, oh god, oh oh no. So I
came home and I had I was halfway through Airport
(21:44):
seventy five, the one with Karen Black and Chut and
Heston dab it. Susan listened to me and she's like,
I don't think I can do it. I think your
name is no what was her name?
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Crap?
Speaker 4 (21:55):
I think it was Susan anyway. And he's he's very sweaty.
He just looks like he's seeping alcohol like the whole time.
And his teeth are sort of you know, it's back
before we put him put caps on and stuff, so
you can kind of see the tobacco stains and it's
close up and it's that seventies film, you know, and
so you know, the story goes that this there's a
(22:18):
seven forty seven and they're trying to go to the
west coast, but it's all fogged in, and then a
private plane the guy has a heart attack and he
he runs into the seven forty seven and knocks the
windshield out and the co pilot gets sucked out, and
then Eric Strata dies instantly. He's a navigator. He's hanging there,
(22:38):
he's you know. And then Karen Black is the flight attendant,
lead flight attendant, so she comes up, sees the situation,
and then the pilot is he's blind. I'm blind, and
he's just he's blinded. But he's in the back. They've
put him on the couch in the back. So anyway,
the whole premise is now she's got to lay on
the plane. But they have they've been diverted to Salt
Lake City. Well, there's mountains everyoney. So now you see
(23:00):
this huge seven forty seven, and the flaps had already
been put down a little bit because they were preparing
to land. So now you know, you've it's very precarious, precarious.
So the decision is made that somebody is going to
be taken from a helicopter and tethered in through the hole.
As they said, it's like putting the yoke back in
(23:21):
a broken egg. And they're going to then get in
a real pilot is going to be their helper. Now,
so you never.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Did see this movie because I don't remember any of those.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
So Charlton Heston and Karen Black are in a relationship,
and before the plane takes off, of course she wants
to talk to him, but he, damn it, baby will
talk when we get to La you know, he's all.
So the first guy who tries to get tethered in,
he's and no, it didn't worry. Now he says, give
me a flight suit. No, man, you're too big. Well
(23:52):
what the hell are we going to do? And he so,
now he's he's brought in and then he lands the
plane and stuff. Spoiler alert. They land plane, but there's
a girl who needs a kidney transplant. The guy who
runs the airline, his kid and his wife are on board. Uh,
it's a whole thing. The two nuns are there, the
lady who drinks boiler makers is there. It's hilarious. And
(24:13):
then they have Jerry Seinfeldt's dad oh, yeah, Ben, Jerry
Ben Stiller, Yeah, Jerry Stiller, Jerry Ben, Yeah, yeah. Norman
Fell and another comedy actor from that time, and they're
all drunk, and so Jerry Stiller sleeps through the whole incident.
He's passed out and he doesn't know what's happening. It's
(24:37):
pretty it's pretty amazing. It's it's it's it's pretty amazing.
And and so the last shot is them like coming down,
you know, the stairs, and he lands the plane and
but she she has to she has to do a
lot of navigating. I mean, it's it's it's very tense.
But the lack of wind that's in the cockpit. Now
think about this. There are at one hundred and eighty knots.
(24:59):
That's how fast they're going. She said, about twelve thousand
feet that's and it's like that's all the wind things. Yeah,
I think so bad.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
We had bigger wind yesterday.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
And that's right. So I finished that and I'm sitting
out on the deck for a minute and I look
at the dog and I'm already in my like night
shirt thing because I was just and I looked at
her and she looked at me, and then she takes
a ball. She goes out in the backyard, she's whipping
it around. She comes back up and I said, all right,
let's do this, so I don't get dressed. It's eight o'clock.
(25:33):
I get dressed. I saddle her up with her harness
and all this stuff, and we go for a walk.
Now at that point, and the skies had cleared considerably,
and so I'm walking along the ridge, like on Northwest
Boulevard kind of, and there's a fire that you can
see that looks like it's out towards nine mile, but
you can see the smoke just being you know, taken over.
(25:57):
But other than that, it was it was peaceful. So
I got home, I went to bed early, and I
woke up at one point fifteen, and I'm pretty sure
there was a cop because what I woke up to
was whoa, like a you know that whoa?
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Oh somebody quick siren.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Yes, but it woke me up. And so now it's
one thirty and I'm like, oh no. And then I
had a terrible nightmare, terrible, not scary, but just like
in the world of you know, life. And then and
I thought, okay, well, maybe I get up and work
out again. And then I was able to go back
to oh and then alarm woke me up.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Yeah, I was like, I should go work out. So
I was fine when I got up, but yeah, it
was a it was an interesting night of sleep when
you get when something like that wakes you up too,
then you start thinking what's going on out there? And
one of my neighbors, I don't know who they are,
I don't know who owns the house, but they've let
(26:54):
the lawn go completely and there's a huge couch out
in the middle of their lawn. And I was talking
about I said to Steve, I said, if you see
in the neighbor's law new couch that's out. It's not new,
but it's an old couch, but it's out in the
middle of the burnt you know. And this house used
to be pristine. I mean, of all of our neighbors,
(27:17):
they kept their yard like pristine. So I'm not sure
what is happening. But as I drove by this morning,
it just made me chuckle. I was like, oh, well,
I just part of me wants to go walking by
and then just go sit on it and be like
I need a rest. This. I'm so glad this is here.
And it's a big couch and it's.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
A full like indoor couch. It's not like a you know.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
No, it's totally right out in the on it. Yeah,
it's it's it's pretty something. So it made me chuckle
as I was driving to work today. But I was glad.
It was one of those dreams that I thought. I
am so glad I woke up because it would have
been very bad if that were actually reality. Oh yeah,
(27:59):
so but yeah, sleep vibe to the rescue again as
I and in fact, I was remembering what James said,
and because I woke up, and because I was a
little I moved it closer to me. And then also
the dog got up, and I think there's something about
when she gets on the bed, I sleep better. I
like the you know, just the energy of her on
(28:20):
the bed because she starts on the floor. And so right,
it was a good day. It wasn't as profitable, but
I did have some major comebacks yesterday, like you know, like,
oh I'm down, I'm down. Oh well this is nice,
Well this is nice.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Get to good.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
There's another little quick hit machine that I think you
would really like. And it's it's got the quick hit
things where if you and I've got five of them,
you get the thing. But it also has it's called
U Turn or something and you spin the thing and
then you can get free games or you can get
like money, there's a five hundred dollars one on the
wheel and it's only a two fifty max bet.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
Yeah, it's fun. It's kind of like in between. Like
let's say you're going to the sports betting thing. There's
that hallway, there, there's a bar, there's a bar. Well,
there's two fireball machines and two of the it's only
two of them, and they're a quick hit thing and
it's two fifty max bet and it's it's fun. It'll
(29:24):
have this spin where you get to spin the wheel
and I got free games, like twenty five free games,
and it was it's fun. I think you'd like it
because it has the same you know, you're not waiting
for anything to explode, you're not waiting for buckets to
fill up with gems. You're just you're either hitting a bonus,
you're not.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Slot machine talk.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Yeah, and I just I love it so much. But
at one point, I said, you know what, Molly, it's
after six o'clock. How about you get yourself some food
and head home.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
What gyms you get out there, Dave?
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Details are not important. Well, what time did I leave here?
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Timeline is lost. It was, yes, pretty close to noon.
I think I was sitting in the car until until noon.
I think it was twelve oh two when I pulled
out of the parking garage here. But it timed out
perfect because I had to set schedule with my son
(30:20):
to try and you know, coordinate all that. And then
while I'm driving, I'm on the freeway and we're you know,
figuring out how the weekend is going to go and everything.
And he says, here, I'm going to send you this
the picture of all my stuff to make sure that
you judge if it's going to be able to fit
in the in the rental car or rental suv. I guess,
(30:40):
And I said, well, I can't. I can't see that
because I'm driving. And I said, I can talk fine,
but I said, I can't, you know, I can't be
looking at photos. And then on the on the in
the car, it'll just say, you know, a message from David,
and it said and I'll say attachment one image. Well, no,
I can't.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
That's note.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Yeah, I can't look at the image.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
There is no you have to get your phone out,
and I said, well, I'm driving on the free we
can't do that. So anyway, we got we got a
lot of stuff.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Saddle.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
There are still a few questions out there, but I
think it's going.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
To be fine.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Everything's going to be fine.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
I think everything's going to be fine.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
I was looking at the text line and Wendy number
forty three says, keep playing when people walk up, Oh,
keeps playing.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Yeah, I think so too. Unless it's just a quick hello, yeah,
then you then you can chat. And then here's the
other thing that comes into play. Sometimes if all the
machines are going in that area and there's people waiting
to get on a machine, yeah, and then they just
see you sitting in a chair chatting with somebody.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Yeah, it's not going to go well yeah, yeah, a
lot of factors. The other day when I was there,
my favorite the steer machine, which betrayed me yesterday. But anyway,
my stampede, there was a lady playing and then a
guy next to her who was not playing, and they
had taken the third seat away and he had the
second seat role like he was blocking both of the
(32:08):
other machines and smoking a cigar like people, hello, not
even it's like one of those sweety things, those sweet.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Cigars, oh, like a swish or sweet. Yes, I love
the smell of those.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
But I didn't want to when you are removing chairs
from a set of things, like you're serious about camping.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
There were no There were no cigar smokers yesterday, but
I am. In the last couple of months, I've played
with multiple people, different people than are cigar people, and
they're always very nice, and they say it's okay if
I fire up, and I don't, and I swear this
is true. Yes, please, I love the smell of secondhand
(32:53):
cigar smoke, but I don't want any of it, right,
And I think they think that because I don't want
any of it, that I don't like it, And I said, no,
I do. I love that, especially those swish or sweets.
And then they have different flavors. Now they have like
BlackBerry and I don't know, strawberry whatever, and you can
(33:15):
smell that in the smoke. It's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Well, there's all kinds of different smoke. When when when
somebody's smoking a big ol'd stogy at the casino. It
can be a little hard to be right next to
it can be a lot.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Yeah, but you gambled.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
We did what we do best, and you know it's
they're both sports.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
I would say, we're doing what we like to do best. Yeah,
I'm not saying that we've you know, well we haven't
mastered the craft.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
No, but some days it sure feels like it's Sunday.
Sure felt like I figured out the system, code, cracked
the coat. But you never no anyway. Yeah, I could
the air yesterday. I was saying to Mike Ken because
I texted him to see if he could see if
there were any fires in the area. I said this,
(34:13):
it always seems like there's just this one day, like
you almost make it through the summer and there's the
one day that causes chaos. And I thought that was yesterday.
But I think we're all fine.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
I think it's gonna end. It's going to cool off
over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
And we might even get some rain.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Yeah, so I think it's going to be good.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Well, we have a busy day on the show today.
We like Thursdays. Thursdays are always fun. Ken's going to
be in Yeah, Yeah, probably shortly after eight o'clock for
the envelopes of anguish.
Speaker 5 (34:41):
We're also going to play the showdown.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
It's going to be early today, remember Tuesdays and Thursdays
seven o'clock hour. If you would like to play, check
in with us via the text line and we'll get
that all set up for the entertainment news. Every Taylor
Swift did it again. She broke the internet.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Oh boy.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
They overloaded the.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
That podcast that she was on and it shut down
the whole system. So then everybody had to wait and
then I think almost everybody ended up getting the full thing,
but there were some people that never got the video back.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Oh geeze.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
It was that many people on at one time.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
What is the platform that they use as a YouTube?
Speaker 2 (35:25):
That's a good question. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (35:27):
Huh yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Well, and she revealed some very interesting things. So fun anyway,
So we'll have that as a story here in just
a bit. As far as the news goes, things are changing,
and you we've talked about this before. People don't drink
as much as they used to, or people less people
are drinking, yes than before, We're at an all time low,
(35:50):
believe it or not for adults.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
I do believe it just in my group alone, I
know that well.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
And there's a lot of young people that is just
not a thing, you know, So.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
They may use other forms of chemical enhancement.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Alcohol, so passe for them. It's like so old school.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Mm hmm. Yeah, I think that's I think it is that.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Yeah, well that's probably good, right, yeah, well, but you
know what, also, the good thing is is us old
schoolers will keep up the average. So sorry about that.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
That means there's just more for us.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Yeah, oh oh gz oh geez. Well, I was I
was checking our YouTube.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
To how do our YouTube do? What was the YouTube yesterday?
Speaker 4 (36:38):
It was it was the cruel joke that I play on, Yes, yes,
And I did get one message and the guy it's
Phil West six O three four and his little emblem
is a Vikings helmet.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
So that's he said that you were offensive to him.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
He said, the Lions suck. Okay, you will forever regret
your miss miss misinformed dalliance with the cubbies. I don't
know what that.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Means, well Lion cubs, Oh.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
The Norsemen will crush the Lions and prove to you
the real champions of the NSC North. Your Minnesota Vikings
exclamation mark. So that that's how that went.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Let's see what the Vikings adds are for to win
the conference. They are plus eleven hundred, So that's not good.
That's like middle of the pack, right, And you did
you make.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Your Oh no, no, I didn't. I didn't. I know,
I didn't. I didn't. Here's the thing. I get out
there and I get so involved in the sports event
that I know about, and it's different events. It's like
you have you have the live table event, you have
the I only enter myself into the slots events where
(38:03):
I know you play multiple events when you go. You
have multiple disciplines at the casino.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
I don't know if discipline is the right word for any.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Of that, but talents.
Speaker 5 (38:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
I like to interest.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
I'll play play.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Cards, and you have varied interests, yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Very interest Yeah, different kinds of card games. Although in
the slot world there's just basically the one one game
that I play.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
But that's your slot thing. And then then you have
your thing that you you know, you have cards, and
then you have sports. So you you have a very
portfolio and I really diversified, diversified portfolio, where mine is
just pretty much like I get I get in there,
and then I just I don't even want to go,
Like I had to break myself away to go to
(38:46):
the cage to cash your chips in for you. I
was like, I don't even want to be in this line.
I could be playing right now. Well, there was an issue.
There was an issue with my cards. If I had
to get a new card. It was just I mean
really it was. But I made it through. Shoot things fine, now, okay,
(39:09):
do you do?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (39:09):
Oh, what's this? Oh?
Speaker 2 (39:14):
A lot of activity on the text line over the
LA this morning.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Somebody just sent a bunch of trivia.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
In oh okay on the text line. Yeah, oh, I
better not look at it.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Well, if I could just steal it all, I could,
I could steal it all. Don't look. I won't look
from Shelley number fifteen.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Okay, I won't look.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
What if I just copy and paste it? Sure, and
then that's trivia for tomorrow. And if people don't like it,
then you can blame Shelley. Shelley did it.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
It was out of your hands.
Speaker 5 (39:45):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
All right there there done, boob, pretty good?
Speaker 3 (39:50):
All right, we will we'll have the news of the
day here in just a couple of minutes, and then
again if you want to play the showdown trivia competition,
a real trivia competition, checking in with us fire text
line and we'll do that after the news segment.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Okay, we'll get to all that and more. It's go time.
It's Thursday.
Speaker 3 (40:06):

Time for you to throw down winning in a minute.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Answer in Dave comes in and answers in again.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
If just goes inferior and Dave will rain.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
Superior, it's time to play around.
Speaker 5 (41:29):
Dave's Cast Showdown.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
All right, righty to play the showdown. It's going to
be Steve from Ontario. Yeah, and I was looking at
the mat. We'll have to confirm this when he joined
us on the air, but we have there's some Calgary
listeners and then there's a there's some listeners in Toronto,
and I'm wondering if he's in Toronto. He's in the
on the text line is Steve from Ontario, right and
(41:54):
it has a little Canadian flag there, so I'm not
sure if that's him or not.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Find out Hello.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
Steve, good morning.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
Good morning. Where where exactly are you?
Speaker 6 (42:07):
I am in Huntsville, Ontario. It's about two and a
half hours north of Toronto, two.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
And a half hours north of Oh maybe I'm seeing
somebody else then. Yeah, we have a little map where
we can see everybody, and I'm I'm trying to get
to now. It's not firing.
Speaker 6 (42:23):
Out now now now, having said that, I am using
a cell tower as my internet so so it could
be IP address could be assigned in Toronto to me.
Speaker 3 (42:34):
So I don't okay, maybe that's it. Yeah. I love
the little map, Yeah, little map with all the little
little flags on there of people listening all over.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
The all all over the world. Yeah, multiple countries and everything.
And you've played before. When was the last time you played?
Speaker 6 (42:51):
I have not played before.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Well, we got a first play. Oh my gosh, it's
very exciting.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
Okay, and what are you doing there? Two and a
half hours north of Toronto.
Speaker 6 (43:03):
I worked for a major bank in Canada and I
work from home, so part of my work day is
spent with you guys.
Speaker 4 (43:11):
A very nice what's the time difference there?
Speaker 6 (43:14):
Three hours?
Speaker 5 (43:15):
Oh wow, New York time?
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Yeah, okay, so it's nine o'clock when we stumble onto
the airwaves for you, it is.
Speaker 5 (43:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (43:23):
So I have my morning routine and at nine o'clock
I switch over and that's when I start my day.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
And how did you get connected to us?
Speaker 6 (43:32):
Oh that's a good story. So I'm going to go
back to two thousand and six. Two thousand and seven
is when we first I first started on the internet
here like listening to the online and I can prove
that because that was the Remember the year the Seahawks
went to the Super Bowl against Pittsburgh, I think it
was in Detroit and they were a wildcard team that year,
(43:57):
and in between the end of the regular season and
the start of the first week of playoffs, you Dave
had predicted on air that the Seahawks would make it
to the super Bowl but lose in the Super Bowl.
And that's that's how I sort of referenced how how
long ago I've been listening?
Speaker 5 (44:16):
Wow? But good memory.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
Yeah. So, but how did did you just stumble on us?
Speaker 6 (44:21):
Or well? This the satellite package, like my TV package
that we have at the time had Spokeane channels, TV
channels and radio stations as sort of the West Coast
package an option, and I just sort of stumbled, you know,
you were like eight nineteen Channel eight nineteen and where
there you go.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
Well, I love that story. Yeah I never knew that, okay, And.
Speaker 6 (44:47):
So yeah, so I've been listening for all these years.
I don't know, I just keep on coming back, and
you know, Jessica and Patch and of course Haley and
the big controversy the ironing board in the hotel room.
Speaker 3 (45:02):
So you do have a very good memory. Wow, that
was yeah, he's referencing. Those are our old producers that
we've had over the years, and Patch was the He
was a very entertaining guy, and he took an ill
advised photo of Ken shirtless ironing and Ken was very
(45:24):
upset about.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
There because they were sharing a room.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
Yes, that was Chicago, I believe, right was it Denver Chicago?
Speaker 4 (45:32):
Yeah? Yeah, I yes, Patch and I would go we
do you remember? We would play golf and whoever lost
had to do the headphone karaoke. It was like walkman karaoke.
And then the day that my life was shattered when
he didn't lose, and I was like, what, we cannot
let this happen. I don't have to beat him, but
(45:55):
somebody has to.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
That's the first time Patch ever beat me in golf.
It was at Indian Camp and it was one of
those things where because he had never beat me before,
I was I never thought I was going to lose
until we got to the eighteenth and I'm running out
of holes and I'm going to lose to him.
Speaker 4 (46:11):
And I was not playing well that day, so I
couldn't do anything about it because I mean usually both
of us beat him handling. Yes, yeah, and that day
was like, well, it's on you. And then he came in.
Oh the gloating. Oh he just said he could read
about it, and that's how he was going to become
a good golfer. He was going to just read up
on it.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
He was sure fun though, Yes, he was fight days. Yeah,
it was a lot of fun. And then I ran
into Jessica the other night at the Michael Jackson's show.
Oh yeah, she was there, and then Michelle was there,
so we had two of our old producers there. And
then we see Haley, you know, we check in with
her all the time.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
She just had her anniversary the other day and I
was at the venue where she got married last week.
Speaker 4 (46:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (46:57):
Yeah, all We've had a lot of.
Speaker 2 (46:58):
Good people that have come and gone and worked with us.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
So we have.
Speaker 3 (47:03):
Well, thanks for being with us for all these years, Steve,
I'm going to leave the studio. Molly takes over. She's
got rules and questions for our little trivia game. This
is the showdown.
Speaker 4 (47:11):
Good luck you all right, So you never played on the.
Speaker 6 (47:14):
Other show either, No, I never played the other show.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
Oh my god, this is crazy, all these years that
you've never played. Well do you are you better at
one topic than another?
Speaker 6 (47:24):
I'm okay at sort of geography in sports. Okay, well there's.
Speaker 4 (47:29):
There's a bit of geography. It's all US stuff, well
not all US stuff, but so I'm guessing you're familiar. Okay,
all right, are you ready to throw down on the showdown?
Speaker 6 (47:39):
Let's go?
Speaker 4 (47:40):
All right? Here we go. What US city is home
to the Mile High Stadium?
Speaker 6 (47:46):
Colorado?
Speaker 4 (47:47):
What city? Well, it's Denver, Denver who was the housekeeper
to the Brady family. Alice u Befoty's first number one hit,
red red Wine, was a cover song cover of whose.
Speaker 6 (47:59):
Song red red I know the song? I don't know past?
Speaker 4 (48:06):
Kiev is the capital of which European country?
Speaker 6 (48:09):
Ukraine?
Speaker 4 (48:10):
What part of the cheetah does not have any spots
on it?
Speaker 6 (48:18):
The legs?
Speaker 4 (48:20):
Most of the US penny is made up from what
kind of metal.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
Tin?
Speaker 6 (48:26):
I'll say ten?
Speaker 4 (48:27):
What is the capital of Wisconsin?
Speaker 6 (48:34):
Minnesota? Minnesota or Minnesota?
Speaker 5 (48:40):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (48:41):
The capital of Wisconsin.
Speaker 6 (48:43):
Oh no, sorry, it's terrible that you're this is there's
so much Milwaukee.
Speaker 4 (48:51):
Okay, what what vegetable is found in dishes serve Florentine style.
Speaker 6 (48:58):
Oh, I don't know, tomato?
Speaker 4 (49:00):
What did There's so many US things on here today.
This is so weird. What did the thirteen stripes on
the American flag represent?
Speaker 6 (49:08):
The colonies? The first first thirteen colonies?
Speaker 4 (49:11):
And what animal is depicted on the flag of Wyoming.
Speaker 6 (49:16):
Oh, I don't know. We'll go with an elk.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
This is crazy.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
It is so ironic that the first time you ever
play there is this much in one and I didn't
even think about when I was putting it together.
Speaker 6 (49:31):
But well, that's ok.
Speaker 4 (49:33):
They might be at a slight advantage today when you
hear the questions, you'll say, wow, there was a lot
of this in there, and and Dave is back, and
it's a disadvantage of somebody who's not a US.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
Oh and you've always been a Canadian rights.
Speaker 6 (49:55):
Lived on Ontario, yes, and and then yeah, so it's it
was funny how I came back to you. But we'll
talk about that later.
Speaker 4 (50:03):
Oh yeah, that's what Jessla was saying. How did you
find out about the podcast?
Speaker 6 (50:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (50:08):
Okay, well probably okay, probably do some research.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
I like his stories.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Okay, all right, my turn to play ten questions for me?
Here we go?
Speaker 4 (50:16):
What city is? What? US city is home to the
Mile High Stadium Denver? Who was a housekeeper to the
Brady family. Alice ub forties number one hit first number
one hit Red red Wine was a cover of whose song?
Speaker 2 (50:31):
I think it was? Neil Diamond?
Speaker 4 (50:33):
Kiev is the capital of which European country?
Speaker 2 (50:36):
The Ukraine?
Speaker 4 (50:37):
What part of a cheetah does not have any spots
on it? The head most of the US penny is
made from? What type of metal zinc? What is the
capital of Wisconsin Madison? What vegetable is found in dishes
served Florentine style?
Speaker 2 (51:00):
What was hit again?
Speaker 4 (51:01):
What vegetable is? What did the thirteen stripes on the
US American flag represent?
Speaker 5 (51:07):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (51:07):
I see who are you? Thirteen colonies?
Speaker 4 (51:11):
And what animals depicted on the flag of Wyoming.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
Buffalo?
Speaker 4 (51:17):
Do you see how? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (51:19):
Boy, it's a bad day for him to play.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
And he's never played either game like ever ever on
the other show or here, And then I lay out
and this was d this.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
Was totally regenerated prior way before. Well yeah, oh well,
I feel bad for Steve.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
And they probably don't even have Dutch bros. In Ontario.
Speaker 6 (51:39):
There's no Dutch bros. But I am going to Seattle
probably in the next in the next.
Speaker 4 (51:46):
Few months, so all right, well maybe we send you
something now, all right, okay, final score they've been seven
to four.
Speaker 2 (51:57):
Well, there was a lot of USA questions in there.
Speaker 4 (51:59):
Yes, and it's crazy. I don't know why how that happened.
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 5 (52:04):
Well you both got you.
Speaker 4 (52:07):
Got both got Denver very good, you both got Alice,
Dave got Neil Diamond very good, red red Wine, you
both got Ukraine. The belly of the cheetah has no spots.
Everything else has spots. But you both had different guesses.
Very good. Zinc is what the penny again? Us penny?
Speaker 2 (52:25):
Like, what if we say, what's the looney made of? Yes,
then then you would know.
Speaker 6 (52:31):
I don't know if it's maybe it's brass, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (52:34):
Then Madison Wisconsin very good. Neither of you got spinach
for Florentinas spinach, okay, and put that in your little
you know. And then the thirteen colonies very good, and
then Buffalo for the flag Wyoming. That is literally one, two,
three or half of them were US questions.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
Yeah, we have to think differently with our worldwide audience.
Speaker 4 (53:02):
World, why you forget it the world?
Speaker 3 (53:07):
Well, Steve, you're oh no, let's hear your story about
how you found us. After we were off for about
three months, okay.
Speaker 6 (53:14):
So I was listening and then I knew that Molly
was sort of going on holidays. Well, the first day
after it was just music, and I'm thinking it's strange
because I don't remember them saying they're going away, and
it wasn't the best of Dave Kinnemala. It was just
music that was sort of different as well, and so
I left it, and the next Monday, I think it
was the same thing. So then I left it for
(53:36):
a few days. I was doing something else and then
I got an email because I was on the listener
list Oh, and I got an email from the ZZU saying,
listen to you know, starting Monday, the new people are
going to be doing And I said what, And of
course then I just jump on Google to find out
what's going on, and I think I finally found something
on Facebook what had happened, and you know, caught off guard. Anyway,
(53:59):
So forward a few months later, I said, I wonder
if anything has happened since then? And I just, you know,
did a quick Google search and I was about a
week after you started. I found it again and I
logged in and I saw that and it was a
It wasn't that the show was already over for the day,
so I just then I said, well, you can replay it.
(54:20):
You can just start, you know, the current day show.
And then there you go. You came back in and then,
you know, I had the first probably within the first
five minutes of listening, you said the phrase you know,
and I read from prepared text. As soon as you
said that, ago, I a big smile came across me.
You know, I'm back and there you go. So it's
(54:43):
great because I, like, you know, there's no local news
about you guys here, so I had to go and
search about it. But what I what I do like
about all your phrases and stuff that I can repeat them,
and some of your jokes I can repeat them here,
and no one's ever heard of.
Speaker 4 (54:58):
The that's a great story.
Speaker 2 (55:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (55:04):
I can't believe they had the nerve to email all
the people and say wait till you.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Hear the that's gonna that's gonna work. Oh wow, they're
they're not very smart.
Speaker 6 (55:18):
Well, that's otherwise I probably wouldn't have not found you
guys again, because there was no even indication of a podcast.
Of course, when when.
Speaker 4 (55:26):
You left right well, because we didn't know there was
going to be one, we didn't have any year to go,
they left us for dead.
Speaker 3 (55:34):
Well, what a cool story though, and man, just seriously,
thanks for staying with it. I mean, from all the
way back to two thousand and six and then finding
us on a on a West coast package and then
being with us, and then you know, then having to
research and find out where we were, and then because
I do see the little flag there right in the
(55:57):
Toronto area, and I don't know if that must be
that must be you, but I see it there. And
then there's a there's a group in Calgary or right
in that area too, where there's a bunch of people
listening and I'm not sure who they are, but they're
obviously listening right now, so maybe they should text in.
But so when you text in, does it cost you
(56:17):
extra money to be texting?
Speaker 5 (56:19):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (56:20):
You know in America? Okay, Okay, no he's not.
Speaker 4 (56:24):
Well, oh that's great, yeah, because we like your input
on the text line. What a story, man, well this
was great.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
Oh what do we have for Steve of our worldwide
onions from.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
Our friends in America. Another American situation in an America
Credit Union, proud sponsor of Dave's Cash showdown in America.
Speaker 3 (56:44):
Credit Union the only credit union it was part of
the original thirteen colonies.
Speaker 5 (56:48):
Really, yeah, it's true.
Speaker 3 (56:49):
Not a lot of people know this, but they started
in Delaware and then they went and they had all
of the new America's all over the In fact, the
old school people will tell you that the American flag
is actually the thirteen original Numerica branch locations.
Speaker 4 (57:05):
Some people will tell you that a few people, not
all of them.
Speaker 3 (57:10):
Quite frankly. Then America Credit Union is very good. And
again some of these statements have not been completely verified.
Speaker 4 (57:15):
And five free cups of Dutch Love from Dutch Brows
podcast Touch b If you want your Dutch Bos, you
just send me your address and we'll pop it in
the mail.
Speaker 6 (57:24):
Okay, well we'll discuss later, Okay.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Okay later.
Speaker 4 (57:28):
Yeah, you're the best. Thank you so much. This is
this is a what a nice super conversation.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Yeah it was awesome.
Speaker 5 (57:35):
Ye, thank you.
Speaker 6 (57:37):
Very good.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
All right too, all right, there goes Steve for playing
the showdown. We have one more round of the showdown
this week. It's going to be tomorrow, and then no
showdown on Monday or Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
You said, right, if.
Speaker 4 (57:50):
You're not here, we're not doing the showdown. I'm not
putting somebody else in that position. In fact, Tuesday morning
because you'll be gone, So Monday we're off. Right, Tuesday,
I will have Quinn at the Helm running the show.
H is going to join me, and then Mike Ken
is going to join me, So it'll be me and
a bunch of guys. Yeah, that'll be fun. And then
(58:11):
I don't know if Kali or whoever's around, they can
come up, but we'll do their normal stuff. We just
won't do the show.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Now, Okay, fair enough?
Speaker 4 (58:18):
And yeah, I don't know what we'll do do all
this stuff.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
Yeah, yeah, all right, we'll take a break.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
We'll get Ken should be here very soon, right, is
he here?
Speaker 4 (58:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (58:29):
He is here.
Speaker 4 (58:29):
Oh he's already here.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
No, I don't know. No he's not.
Speaker 5 (58:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (58:33):
You're like you're looking at your phone, Williams.
Speaker 2 (58:35):
No, No he's not.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
We'll have have entertainment entertainment news, and then we'll also
have Ken joining us here in just a bit as
we move forward.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
The David Molly Show continues live from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
We now return to The Dave and Molly Show live
from the New America Studios.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
Don't you mean the Dave, Ken and Molly Show. Boom
kids here?
Speaker 5 (59:05):
Yeah, I was just admitted into the building. Thank you
very much, and it's great to be up here.
Speaker 4 (59:12):
Truthful. There was a guy with a huge leaf blower.
Speaker 5 (59:14):
L yes, it was. He was leaf blowing right up
the little axis ramp and it was so it was
all clean here. It was like a red carpet treatment.
So very very nice. Hey, drive him down here. I
love that dude from Canada.
Speaker 4 (59:34):
Yeah, amazing, right man.
Speaker 5 (59:37):
He was referencing so much stuff about the show way back,
and we had had a couple of texts from different people.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
This is I love that guy. I love hearing those stories.
Speaker 5 (59:48):
So yeah, that was that.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
Was super cool.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
It's amazing that he had never played before on any anyway.
Speaker 5 (59:54):
Do you know of all the stuff you talked about,
you know, all the American Westerns and all the stuff crazy,
the one thing that stuck out in my head, the
one thing every Wednesday of my life my past life. Uh,
the station sent out an e blass like, yeah, working
(01:00:15):
women's tonight and enter to win this and we've got
this to give away. I'm astounded if they sent out
on a nail said we fired Dave ken Wall and
here's a new shelf.
Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
Why of all.
Speaker 5 (01:00:35):
The things that just like they didn't have very good
coaching over that. It was just, oh my god, that
was a little singer right in the middle of everything.
Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Well, and some people said they didn't get it because
they had deleted everything prior, so as soon as they
found out what happened, they got rid of everything. But
all right, but yeah, to say like just a week
later and it sounds like it was maybe, well it
was two weeks from when we got that they started.
It was like two weeks that they that did. So
(01:01:03):
how do you have been that the first Wednesday or
the second Wednesday? It's like, oh, we can't afford to
have a yeah, oh yeah, right, So I think you're
sending it to the wrong group of people.
Speaker 5 (01:01:14):
Everybody's fine, right, smiling, they we're back. That's the way
it goes.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Yeah, bad idea number six forty two.
Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
How was the week.
Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
I see, you were here last week, and I'm trying
to think of what was on the what was on
the table?
Speaker 5 (01:01:31):
You didn't do any traveling, There was no traveling. I
have to pull up my calendar. Uh got a few notes.
Let's see last week. Yeah, I left here. Uh and
then oh, Trish was out golfing at the Quarterlane Public. Okay,
oh yeah, that might come up just a little bit,
a little bit later. And then I kind of batched
(01:01:54):
it all weekend because Friday morning, Trish headed off to
Walmall and it was just a family thing seeing her, Uh,
her mom and her brother's been in Europe for a
couple of weeks and uh, his son's over there and
graduated in the Netherlands as the Lower countries. Anyway, so
(01:02:22):
she was gone through the weekend and uh it was
just me. I hung out with my sons. Uh, some
lunch in there and uh all sorts of fun. The
best thing ever, Uh Sunday morning Trish comes home and
she had stopped by that.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
She just walked there and.
Speaker 5 (01:02:46):
Said, I have dinner. And I said, that is the
best thing I've ever heard. She did.
Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
She get the enchilada tomal she got.
Speaker 5 (01:02:55):
I was like beef or burrito type. You know, I'm sorry, third,
third times a charm enchiladasky really good.
Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
See here's the thing. I went through the mercantile on
my way home from my trip, and I brought Daves
some chips and salts, and I got myself chips and salt.
But I also got to tray of enchiladas and a
tray of to Molly's. And then I realized that I
was the only person in the family that was going
to be eating them. And on my fourth day of
enchilada slash Tomlly eating, it was kind of done fourth
(01:03:26):
day and I didn't freeze them in time.
Speaker 5 (01:03:29):
We got two days out of that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
Oh but there's multiple of you. Yeah, there's just me eating.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
Who benefited from that? Yes, I did a pretty good
deal for me. There was a couple of mornings where
after the show, Molly said, Hey, I want this and.
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
Food people here and I should do that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
He said, Yes.
Speaker 5 (01:03:49):
I did have one day, and I believe it was Monday,
after the weekend. I had a day where I have
always got like three or four little projects and Amazon
stuff on the way, and stuff all came together. I'm
very proud, I know you guys wouldn't notice unless I
tell you, Uh, look at my hand rims. Yeah, there's
(01:04:12):
no sharp marks at all.
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
Oh did you because to them? Oh they are sharp.
Speaker 5 (01:04:20):
Those are sharp and brand new. Yes, they're kind of
matt black. You wouldn't notice. But if I showed you
my old ones, you would say, oh, yeah, it's got
those little dings from and crashing. I had a little
crash and it was all bumped up and I broke
one of my spokes. And this was a while ago. Yeah,
(01:04:44):
so I got all that fixed. I went to wheel
Sport over the weekend on the hill and they said,
we're really busy. That's going to be about two and
a half weeks. And I said, oh jeez. They said
call the valley on Monday, which I did. I buzzed
out there and they said do you want to wait
for it or do you want to come? And I said,
(01:05:06):
oh my gosh, I said I'll come back. So boom,
those got swapped down.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
So what happened? Where do you go when they're working
on your chair?
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
I had my backup wheels from my other chair on here.
Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
Which word, Oh so you just handed them off? The wheels.
Speaker 5 (01:05:25):
Off?
Speaker 4 (01:05:25):
I see, But where when you're working on your chair
yourself unusually on the couch shot it.
Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
Yeah, but you can be in the power chair. I
could be in the power chair often.
Speaker 4 (01:05:37):
To use the power chair anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:05:39):
I haven't used that since the old show. Really it's
been my god.
Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
And that's because that's really the reason that you used it.
Because of the countertop.
Speaker 5 (01:05:50):
You had to be able to raise and during the
winter and yeah, all that kind of stuff. And there
was a while when I think I heard my shoulder
and I was in it for a long time. It's
still there already to roll like wow for a while.
Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
Boys, every year, anything you're doing now you're in the manual.
So you're going pretty good. Workout, workout. Look at those guns.
He's got o suns out guns man. While we were
out in the valley, I buried the headline. We uh
swung by Ron's drive in, you know, because you have.
Speaker 5 (01:06:27):
To, you have to visit the locals. So uh did
that and just everything kind of fell together that day.
Oh yes, I know. It was all good, and Trisha
had I think I had a couple of appointments. And
then that night, you know, midweek, it was so freaking hot.
Speaker 4 (01:06:53):
It was this week, this last this last week has
been very hot.
Speaker 5 (01:06:57):
Yeah, and I found that, uh, I a lot on
the driveway when it's you know, seven eight, Let the
garage doors open, let all the stuff out, and that's
when all the walkers come through.
Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:07:11):
And I believe I recommended three different couples in our neighborhood.
They didn't know that you guys were doing the podcast,
and they because they came over I did. I met
a couple of new newbies. And then and can I
ask the age of these people. I'm doing this for
(01:07:33):
research purposes, I would say younger than me. I would
say right in the I don't know, fifties.
Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
I ran into a twenty something yesterday that was all really, Yeah,
isn't that awesome?
Speaker 5 (01:07:46):
Yeah, And we had.
Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
Some texts they said, you guys need more pr and
because we're talking about Steve finding us. And then Brian
made a point. He goes and then people spoken, can't
find you, but Steve's got you. But we are still
trying to get the word out and we are efforting,
as you would say. And next week we're making a
commercial and the commercial's going to go and it's going
to explain again how to get to us and all that,
(01:08:08):
and we're hoping that you're going to be part of
our commercial, an integral part.
Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
Of a commercial that could be seen on Sunday night.
Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
Football.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Yeah, hey, I've kind of heard it.
Speaker 5 (01:08:21):
Buzz it football's right around. Did you hear who Mally's
team is this year? She is? Is it Detroit?
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
Detroit?
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Yeah, yesterday we were talking about the cool colors yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:08:34):
I was me and see my helga horns are right there,
and I put them on so Dave Cotton could see
through the glass and then and then he's hopeful. And
then I took it and I threw it down and
then he was very very sad.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
Yeah, I think he weeped.
Speaker 4 (01:08:47):
He was limpy. I was like, where are you limping?
Nobody kicked you in the leg. He literally was like
grabbing one leg and limping away from it. And then
his little heart was broken.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
So what's your take on football?
Speaker 5 (01:09:00):
Seat?
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Like, what do you what do you? What do you
think is gonna Do you have any predictions? Do you
have any thoughts?
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Because you're also a college person too.
Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
I'm a college football guy, and that is just like
a whole clean slate.
Speaker 4 (01:09:13):
Have you watched that SCC. What is the thing you.
Speaker 5 (01:09:17):
Documentary? I have seen that, but I haven't watched that.
It's good, and I still need to get into that quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
Yes you do. One of our texters who was it was?
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
It was Tea Right, somebody texted this morning and said
they were watching the Quarterback Show and they said, now
I know why you're Alliance fan.
Speaker 5 (01:09:39):
Yep, it was because it can only be Jared.
Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
It was Julie. You can only be Jered. Yes, it
was it was Julie. Wait, wait, hang on a second. Well, sorry,
this person, Kelly said, I got the email to and
I gave him two big middle fingers on the station. No,
it was your friend Julie.
Speaker 5 (01:10:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Yeah, she's the one who said it that that she's
now a fan too.
Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
Well, and I think there's a lot of boys that
are becoming Lions fans too on account of the wife.
Speaker 5 (01:10:11):
Yeah, yeah, man that. I am just obsessed with all
the hype shows, the ESPN shows, all the you know,
just new quarterbacks everywhere, and they're all predicting and all that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:26):
Hannah says for your research, Dave, she's twenty nine.
Speaker 5 (01:10:29):
Oh, thank you, Hannah. That's very good.
Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
I'm just so so, and that was one of the
conversations we got into yesterday about the the age range
of people that listen to us before and that are
listening now right, and just the people are very surprised
by that, and that makes I love we want a lot,
of course, but it's cool when someone you know in
(01:10:54):
their twenties, they weren't even born when we started, but
yet they have found us and enjoy in some form
that that is that makes me feel super good.
Speaker 5 (01:11:04):
I know they say, hey, we'll adopt those old people. Yeah, hey,
can I backtrack once? Yead, I'm obsessed about that blast thing. Okay,
here's the other thing. Here's the other thing. I noticed.
I always got a copy of it because I was
(01:11:25):
in the thing so I could always see yeah blast,
I'd be the first one. Oh there. So they went
in and deleted me out of there. I didn't get.
Speaker 4 (01:11:34):
It, So you never had a chance to know about
the never they always email can and you didn't get
to touch that. That's why I didn't get it either.
Speaker 5 (01:11:43):
That didn't forward to me. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
And if you wanted to look at your email, good point,
you had to go through somebody very specific and it
wasn't the person that you think. Yeah, so who knows
all of my old navy, my bed bath and beyond,
like all of my membership. This stuff is all going there. Yes,
it's probably all stacked up somewhere. I would love to
see the emails that we got questioning everything that we
(01:12:09):
never saw.
Speaker 5 (01:12:10):
Right, love that text line? Yeah, so let me.
Speaker 4 (01:12:14):
Ask you this, how many people would you e blast?
How many people were on that line?
Speaker 5 (01:12:21):
I think it was over three thousand people, but it
might maybe it went to like fifteen hundred. It was
a little smaller now, yeah, a little smaller, and you know,
you had to opt in, but right they got they
got all the VIP points, every just definitely email and
all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:12:38):
We have the ability to text, and it's going to
come into play here because we're planning a big anniversary celebration.
But we have the ability to do the text thing
where we can. You can opt in and then everybody
who opts and gets the information, but the people who
don't want it won't get bombarded with it. It's pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (01:12:56):
Get all the inside scoopy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
Yeah, there's different rules for text an email. Like email,
you can send out anything you want about anything, and
you're not You're not bothering anybody, right, But in the
text world, you you you have to get permission in
opt in type of deal.
Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
Yeah, which is good.
Speaker 5 (01:13:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:13:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:13:14):
They speaking of friendly Walkers fans of the show. And
you guys know, I'm Kim from spoke in Humane Society. Oh,
in my neighborhood. One of her best friends is Yvonne,
who I think used to be Northern question. I'm not sure.
I saw her at the giveaway night and they so,
I don't know. Two three times a week they walk
(01:13:36):
through the neighborhood. So I I was back in the
van in and I saw I saw them way up there.
I said, I think I can time it and get
out of it, because it takes me ten minutes to
get out of the car. And timed it perfectly and
I rolled out. I hear, I hate can So I
got the h her little doggie, and of course she
(01:13:57):
works for the Humane Society. She's got the best behaved
dog America. Yeah, I'm calling the dog's name, and she
would barely even look at me. She's going no, And
Kim said, no, she's looking at squirrels. She doesn't doesn't
care about her name, sniffing any of that. So anyway,
(01:14:17):
they send their regards, great great things of the show.
Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
That's nice, good people.
Speaker 5 (01:14:22):
Yeah, and speaking of football, will flip this page. I
know they lost last night, but eight in row. The
Mariners are red hot. Yeah, yes, I think they're they're They.
Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
Were in first place yesterday, but now not for like
a split second.
Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
I'm very very confident they're going to win that division.
Speaker 5 (01:14:43):
They are just formidable.
Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
Big Dumper doing.
Speaker 5 (01:14:47):
Big Dumper's doing well. Did he hit one yesterday? No?
Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
He did not go forty five though forty five leading
the league, the whole league.
Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
American and National League. Just no.
Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
One's hit more home runs at the Big Dumper.
Speaker 5 (01:15:00):
I know, man, And every time he hits one, he's
breaking some sort of catcher record or switch hitter record,
some Mariner record.
Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
They have the day off today.
Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
Oh no, they play today, but the Disasters do not play.
Speaker 5 (01:15:15):
Oh yeah, we play.
Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
We can move to a half game if we win,
because I'm we because I.
Speaker 5 (01:15:21):
Am, And it's all about just win the series. Out
of room.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Do that whole thing about Stock and the Mariners this year?
Speaker 5 (01:15:29):
Ah, very good. I did get a call from my
my actual boss. Oh yeah, yeah, well.
Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
A regional because you speak the same language as the
current party.
Speaker 5 (01:15:43):
I did take Latin in high school. I do have
one upcoming uh services coming weekend, so you're booked, yes,
and it is a rosary. I believe that is the
night before that they do the more Catholic It's going to.
Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Be a big, big one.
Speaker 4 (01:16:03):
There's a lot of heat on your last appearance here.
And then the the point that you made that that
you could that you could be working. Somebody made the point.
Who is it that did you make the point yourself
that if we go first, you could actually make money
to be there. We were talking about our death and
what our funerals would look like, and then you made
(01:16:24):
the point.
Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
I said that, huh, I could actually get paid to go, Yes,
which I would. I would probably donate that.
Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
Whatever to our favorite cause.
Speaker 5 (01:16:41):
In that.
Speaker 4 (01:16:43):
It was just real quick, Melissa says, I got that
email to I was outraged. Also had a ton of
vi P points that I looked before I deleted the app,
and then I had and then had zeroed them out,
oh oh before vi P but and then oh deleted
the app and zero at the mount and then, as
Steve says, I love how I mentioned my little mention
(01:17:06):
of an email created an entire so.
Speaker 5 (01:17:12):
That was ran through all of our most of our producers.
Speaker 6 (01:17:17):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:17:18):
He did bring up the ironing gate.
Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 5 (01:17:25):
And he was over step. I was ironing. Sure, therefore
I did not have a shirt.
Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
That's right where you towl the shorts.
Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
That's wrong on all this even I'm against that. That's
wrong on every level. Yeah, Chicago right, was cho the.
Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
Same trip that he grabbed my butt, like we were
all drinking, he grabbed my butt. I'm like, I will
take you outside and the crap ba you. You're like, sorry,
we need to be friends.
Speaker 5 (01:18:03):
We need to be friends.
Speaker 4 (01:18:04):
Like, that's not going to make us better friends, but
you grabbing my butt?
Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
Yes, a little different yeah, patch patch patch Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
And then he told Kenny was going to run Bloomsday
in forty seven minutes. Two minutes.
Speaker 5 (01:18:20):
I heard you guys talking about the golf.
Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:18:22):
Well, and Molly pointed out he was just going to
read about it and then go do it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:30):
That was with his whole strategyes.
Speaker 5 (01:18:32):
And he told me the same thing about bloom Stay
because we can five and a half mile five and
a half mile of you know pace, You just do
this seven miles in a row, and I go, I
know that's math. The math works. You can't just read
about it and do that. That's I think I got
(01:18:55):
outraged for no.
Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
Moll, you are pissed, and he needed to get under
our skin and were.
Speaker 5 (01:19:02):
To go out there for nine months just to try
to run it in an hour ten.
Speaker 4 (01:19:10):
Do it just like the elite athletes.
Speaker 5 (01:19:13):
Seems going to read a leaflet go out.
Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
Those were good days, though, I love because I never
knew what was what statement he would throw out that
we would we would of course exploit that and oh
yeah turn it in.
Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
Those were fun.
Speaker 3 (01:19:33):
We had some There were some good people in that spot. Yeah,
they have different, different personalities and.
Speaker 4 (01:19:40):
Yeah I was in that spot at one time. Remember that. Yeah,
your breakfast, I like you a lot, like my job.
Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
Oh that's what it was. Came in tail end of
the Jillian Days tale and we're going to mention any.
Speaker 4 (01:20:03):
I keep looking for her on the Friends episodes because
I remember.
Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
When I when I she was in two episodes.
Speaker 4 (01:20:10):
I guess, oh really, When I came to uh interview
with you, they said they just hired a girl from
LA who is also an actress. So it was like
we're the same kind of thing. And then and then
while she lost her mind and camped out in front
of the boss's office or something crazy. Yeah, she wanted
to know what the hell I was doing there. I said,
(01:20:32):
I'm writing on a dry erase board names of people
who are calling in. I don't know anything about this.
Speaker 5 (01:20:39):
You were saying, Steve's online one.
Speaker 4 (01:20:41):
Yeah, that was yeah. Well, I'm glad. I'm glad she imploded.
Speaker 5 (01:20:47):
That du for me. I do remember. That is the
first time that I had to fill out paperwork, uh
for a missing day of work for spider mine.
Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
I was going to say she had the famous spider.
Speaker 5 (01:21:03):
I mean, that is something, but usually it's like okay.
Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
In her defense, it was a it doesn't look good.
Oh it was.
Speaker 5 (01:21:10):
It was like the size of a softball.
Speaker 4 (01:21:11):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (01:21:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
Yeah, and so she wasn't sure how that was gonna work.
But that was only I think she was only there
a couple of months. Yeah, and who knows.
Speaker 4 (01:21:19):
What where I don't know what she's doing. She can
watch she's like a famous actress, but we just don't
remember who she was.
Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
Now changed your name.
Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
It could be she might be yeah, not sure.
Speaker 5 (01:21:30):
AnyWho, Well, so just a few of the things happened
in my world.
Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
We'll do a break and when we come back, I
do want to do the entertainment news and I'm glad
Kenser because you can be a part of this. There
were two major things that happened, the Taylor Swift thing
where she was on with her boyfriend the you Know
and the Kelsey brother podcast. So there was some revelations
in that. And then the other thing is there's a
Charlie Sheen documentary coming out. Yeah, and it sounds good
(01:22:00):
and we have the trailer for that, so and it's
coming soon.
Speaker 2 (01:22:03):
It's like it's a couple of weeks away.
Speaker 4 (01:22:05):
You know, have you seen the thing for fit. It's
called Fit for Life and it's got a scale with
the measuring tape around. It's coming out tomorrow on Netflix,
and it's all the Biggest Loser contestants doing a tell
all about the Biggest Losers. Really, I think it's going
to be a bombshell wow, Like I think it could be.
I think it's how the producers, it's it's it's people
(01:22:25):
who were on the Biggest Loser show and then they're
telling their stories about how producers did this and that.
That's what I'm guessing. I've been waiting for it, but
it's tomorrow. Oh it's good. It's got a scale and
it's got a measuring tape around it, and it's the
first thing you see when you well, at least for me.
Speaker 5 (01:22:41):
Yeah, that'll be cool. All right.
Speaker 3 (01:22:44):
We'll get to all that and more entertainment news here
in just a bit, and then we're minutes away from
the envelopes of Anguish that and more when we return

We now returned to the Dave and Molly Show live
from the Numerica studios.
Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Just like that, we're back. Ready for the envelopes of anguish.
Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
Wasn't that a Tears for Fear song or depeche Mode Songish?
Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
The envelopes of you doing you?
Speaker 5 (01:24:25):
What was that song? The envelopes of.
Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
The real song was the politics of dance? Oh, that's
what it was, the politics of doing. And it wasn't
depeche Mode. It was who did?
Speaker 5 (01:24:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
That was a safety dance?
Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
It was it was something like that though it was okay,
somebody will know it something.
Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
Was it the reflex? Now there's something like that. Yeah,
that was a great song. I always like that.
Speaker 4 (01:24:59):
Reflex. Wow, nailed it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
Look at that very good.
Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
All right, here's how the envelopes of anguish work. There's
a series of envelopes here, say ten, eleven, twelve, I
don't know how many there are, and then we'll have
to pick one. And inside each envelope is a question.
That's the question that we have to answer on the spot. Now,
the rules for the envelopes of anguish. You can't defer.
You can't say no, I better not answer this because
(01:25:27):
I might offend people.
Speaker 5 (01:25:28):
You can't do that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
You have to answer the question that's on the in
the Yeah, Molly always has early access to some of
the questions, not all of them, but some of them
that could come up.
Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
What do we see?
Speaker 4 (01:25:38):
Well, you weren't here yesterday, Ken, but I woke up
early and I went to the gym for the first
time in a long time. So I'm really sorry. I
can't reach those and my hand hurts.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
So you can't reach, Well, you just grabbed it's away.
Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
I don't understand why you're saying that you can't reach.
Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
See. Oh, I could see them some of them now,
and you see them.
Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
Yeah, if you had.
Speaker 5 (01:25:59):
To get in a fit fight with someone who would
have been why okay, straight on, fish.
Speaker 4 (01:26:04):
Let me alphabetize them.
Speaker 5 (01:26:06):
Who's the least talented person you know, who's actually still
making a living problem. Simply Tariff's thoughts, well, country produces
the ugliest people. What social causes just a bunch of crap,
oh delink with dookie dealings, chaos and the crapper, shady
(01:26:30):
stool situation, bodacious bowel blunders and return to brown town.
This time it's really you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:26:42):
What was the delinquent?
Speaker 5 (01:26:45):
So that's it's behind Yeah, yeah, it was like you
that's something you stumble upon.
Speaker 4 (01:26:54):
Yeah, these.
Speaker 5 (01:26:57):
Dealings?
Speaker 4 (01:26:58):
Yeah yeah, well I hope we don't get any of those.
Speaker 2 (01:27:01):
That doesn't sound any good.
Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
Little but apparently the fist fight one. Molly's got an
alphabet list here, so me and she's got her fist
pumping into her palm.
Speaker 4 (01:27:15):
I love that. That's like, you know, every old movie
with a fight before that, they're always hitting their fists
like I'm here, I go, like them warming up the
fist for you, and it kind of hurts.
Speaker 5 (01:27:27):
Gonna be ready for a fight.
Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
All right, give me that one. I'll take that one.
Speaker 4 (01:27:32):
There you go?
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
Is that number three? They never picked number three?
Speaker 4 (01:27:39):
Nice one?
Speaker 5 (01:27:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
Oh let's see what I got. Oh, this is very
this is this would be the easy one. Fun one.
Do you have any road trips you're looking forward to.
Speaker 5 (01:27:51):
Careful.
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
I don't want to offend anyone.
Speaker 3 (01:27:53):
But so, yeah, so I'm going this tomorrow leaving heading
to Detroit.
Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
It's time tomorrow you will have left the studio, Quinn
will have taken over for you.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Uh yeah, pretty close. Yeah, right around this time. I
think I'll leave in the nine o'clock hour at some point. Okay, yeah,
but yeah, So go to Detroit and my son is
actually coming back from DC today, so he's you know,
landing there. Then he has all of his stuff at
(01:28:27):
one friend's house. He's staying there one night. Then he
moves to another friend's house on Friday night. Then will
then I will pick him up from the one friend's house.
Then we go back to the first friend's house where
his stuff is. Then we load up. Then the road
trip begins.
Speaker 4 (01:28:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
So, and it's only eleven and a half hours from
Detroit to or Ann Arbor to New Haven, Connecticut.
Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
But we're going to do it in two days.
Speaker 4 (01:28:56):
That's nice.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
Yeah, I think that's really good. That's a good plan.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
And we were talking about it when when I was
heading out to golf yesterday, talking about that whole thing
and his words were, well, it would just be fun
just to you know, it's kind of like you know,
closed caption audience. I mean, you're just it's just the
two of us there. There might be some music playing,
but you know, and I'll be in a different car
and so yeah, you know, so that I think I'm
(01:29:22):
very much looking.
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
Forward to just the time and the road trip part
of it. I think it's going to be. It'll be,
it'll be great.
Speaker 5 (01:29:27):
It's like a bonding thing. Sure.
Speaker 4 (01:29:30):
And so will you snacks? Will you do a snack thing?
Speaker 2 (01:29:35):
Good question.
Speaker 4 (01:29:35):
I think you should.
Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:29:37):
I mean it's different with us. We have the r V.
So I'll just go back to the kitchen. I always say,
don't crash. I'll be right back, and then I go
make us a snack and I bring it back up front.
Speaker 2 (01:29:47):
No adhering to your rules.
Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
He said, that's the plan for the whole trip, to
not crush.
Speaker 5 (01:29:53):
But it's a good plan.
Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
You guys have to plan head and then also not
have too much liquid because you don't want to have
to stop, right.
Speaker 2 (01:30:00):
That is a thing.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
He's a he's a pretty good traveler, you know. I
mean we'll probably be talking the whole time, but you
know he'll he if not, he would read. I mean,
he's the kind of thing. So that's that's super cool.
And we don't we have no hotels planned we go.
There was an idea that we would go to Niagara Falls,
(01:30:22):
and I had told him before, I said, well, we
want to go to the Canadian side, so you know,
get your passport and your things in order. Well, and
the chaos of him moving, he didn't do that. So
if we do do Niagara Falls, it will be on
the American side, which is still fine. That's still good.
That's the only thing that's a possibility. And all that,
(01:30:43):
and then the other road trip. I was talking to
Nadine the other night and we're saying, well, we're going
to do a Walla Walla trip. And then the more
we talked about it, it was like, well, you know,
we don't have to just do Walla Walla. We could
do She had some friends and friends of ours that
they're big time wine people, and they say, you know,
(01:31:04):
they never underestimate Yakama. Yakama's got some you know, I
know when you say Yakama people, No, I don't want
any part of that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
The Paul Springs of Washington.
Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
And I've always been kind of anti Yakama, but I've
heard those same stories that Yakama has a a wine industry,
that it's kind of a thing, and maybe that's a
new place, and that too would be a road trip.
And then our friends from mary Hill they were having
wine with them. This is about a month ago, and
they said, oh, Shelanne is the new the new hotspot. Yeah,
(01:31:36):
got to go to Shelane and it's the you know,
there's a walkable thing with a lot of wineries. It's
beautiful there, there's a lake. And so then the top
the discussion was we're definitely doing the road trip. We
could go anywhere, well, you know, all about the same
distance away.
Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
Speaking of mary Hill, we drove right past their other
tasting room thing they have over Yeah, where where is it?
It's not, it's not. I thought it was on the
west side, all the way on the west side. It's not.
It's down there's.
Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
A couple of them. There's one the original woe was Goldendale?
Is that what you weren't?
Speaker 4 (01:32:12):
Maybe we went through and they had the signs. But
when we went from Depot Bay to Portland that drive
there were twenty rhinaries easily and then the Air Museum
and everything, but it was all that Wilammette Valley stuff. Yeah,
but don't underestimate Prosser. Prosser has a really nice strip
of you know, the downtown isn't anything great, but definitely
(01:32:36):
for a day of wine tasting there in.
Speaker 5 (01:32:39):
The outskirts of that.
Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
Well and I and I you know, I've done Walla
Walla a bunch of times, but I've only done it
in the same form, staying at the Marcus Whipman and
then walking, you know, for a weekend from you you
could hit everyone in the downtown area in two days. Well,
what I haven't done is Walla Walla and then going
up into the hills and some of those other wineries
(01:33:02):
that are a driving situation. But with her, I could
because she would she would drive when we check those out.
But I'm now I'm definitely leaning toward Shelan or Yakama
just as kind of a new thing and it'd be
a great road trip and so I'll get some road time.
This is all happening. The David's trip is next week
(01:33:24):
or Saturday. Start that one log down this one we're
planning on that first weekend of September, so we're gonna
have two road trips in about three weeks.
Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
We are going to Shelane on and I completely forgot
about this on August twenty three for a concert. But
we're only going because he has to work. I don't
know why we're not. He has something on Friday and
he has to Yeah, he has to work on Friday.
So we're just going Saturday night. But I'm excited to
see Shelane. We'll take r V and go. But here's
(01:33:56):
what I suggest, hear me out. You should you guys
should try taking the r V going to Prosser. Just listen, listen, listen,
and that RV park there if you just went for
the night, it's only a couple hours away, that RV park.
They have wine tasting right there in the little clubhouse,
(01:34:17):
and it's about half a mile walk to five wineries
right on one little strip, and you can go from
place to place to place.
Speaker 5 (01:34:24):
I'm hearing you out, and then there you go. Let
me just say this, in the middle of summer. According
to my youngest son, Prosser is the hottest place on Earth.
On Earth.
Speaker 4 (01:34:41):
There too, though, to one.
Speaker 5 (01:34:42):
Of his cousins. Graduation Saturday afternoon at two o'clock football. God,
I almost had a stroke, but hey, I was going
to say the other truth. I were talking about day
trip ride in there would be love and worth and they.
Speaker 4 (01:35:03):
All, yeah, we've never done that.
Speaker 3 (01:35:06):
You know, your your boyfriend would love because that's a
beer place, I mean a lots of beer things. And
then and then they do have a very small wine.
You know, there's wineries and stuff too. But I would
love to hear from and I think when we talked
about this before, uh, there were some texters that had
referenced Shelan and Yakama.
Speaker 2 (01:35:26):
I'd like to hear thoughts, statements, that.
Speaker 5 (01:35:29):
Kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (01:35:29):
I'm looking forward to it. It's a bit of a drive,
but so is Levenworth. Levenworth is the home of the
famous Steve. The lady who came out. It was the
It was at the hotel and it's one of those
where you have a in the morning, the breakfast is there,
and the lady came down and in Steve's defense, when
he got there there it was full, and so he
(01:35:51):
picked a table with their four children. And when she
came down, she obviously disapproved of the table he picked.
But and so there were only a few of us scattered.
See he said it was packed when I got down here,
and it was like, oh, they hate each other. This
is not about the table. So then that became the
whole Steve thing, and it was Steve, but that was okay.
Speaker 8 (01:36:15):
Yeahlevenworth is Funnworth in that right after the holidays, like
right out like January February, because they keep their lights
on all the way until President's Weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
So you can go in February and you're not paying
the holiday prices, but you still get the visual of
all the things lit up.
Speaker 5 (01:36:36):
It's super pretty.
Speaker 4 (01:36:39):
An RV place up there that my friend goes every year.
He swears, bidy, it absolutely loves it. I think it's
a koa or something. It's just but it's But see
now that we have the bikes, the the e bikes,
oh that is you can go like the walla walla
thing for us at the at the RV park. It's
a mile into town, but when it's really hot, it's
(01:37:00):
a long mile and the e bike that solves everything.
Speaker 3 (01:37:04):
Yeah, yeah, I do love. I just think that that
is a secret gem of our state. And I'm and
I'm looking forward to experiencing maybe Shechlane or Yakama in
the wine world, and just you know, seeing what what
other places have to offer. We're very lucky for wine
and golf. I mean I think I think God put
me in a good spot. Okay, you like golf, here's
(01:37:26):
cheap golf and good places to golf in Spokane.
Speaker 5 (01:37:29):
You got all.
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
And then the state of Washington, wine and.
Speaker 4 (01:37:33):
Gambling is legal here. Don't forget that. No downplay that,
like that's not one of your things. That's like me saying,
oh wine, you know it's also a mill. Yeah, but
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:37:49):
I don't It doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (01:37:51):
No, Trevor just sent it a map of your of
your trip Detroit. Are you going down through there?
Speaker 5 (01:37:59):
Yeah, we're going to go.
Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
We'll go exactly what we're gonna do. We get into
ninety Well, how far down does he have it?
Speaker 4 (01:38:07):
Going down through Pittsburgh, No, Harrisburg, Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (01:38:11):
Because we go through We're gonna go through Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (01:38:13):
Yeah, you go through Cleveland, Akron, whatever, then Pittsburgh, it says,
then Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, then up through New York, New Haven, Connecticut.
But it seems like there's a more direct route.
Speaker 5 (01:38:24):
You're going to put Will you put a few states
on your lost nothing that I've been to.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
Yeah, when I lived in New York, we traveled a ton.
Speaker 4 (01:38:36):
Wait, so you're just going to Connecticut. He has his
all the way up here somewhere. I don't know. I
don't know what you're sending me, Trevor, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:38:45):
Uh No, this is not the route we're going. We're
going Cleveland and up. We're going to go through Buffalo
because yeah, Quinn stomping ground. And then I may, depending
on time, I may take my son through Rochester because
that's where I was when I lived in New York,
is right along uh, you know, Lake Ontario, and then
that's that. That route puts us through Nagara Falls. Cool
(01:39:07):
because we got to be we got to be up there,
so cool. Anyway, Right, well, he's good, he's he's taking
the low.
Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
Road down.
Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
And then uh here Prosser has a nice Best Western
hotel block away from that RV park. Totally walkable. Yes,
Dottie says. Leavenworth, KOA is amazing, highly recommend it. Isaacle
River RV Park is really nice. That's up at Leavenworth
as well.
Speaker 3 (01:39:34):
I want to know from people because I know some
we mentioned it because I remember the conversation that I
had with the with the wine people, and they said, oh,
Shellanne is the is the place to be. And these
are real wine people, I mean some all and it's
all like I'm in the I'm the idiot in the group,
like they're explaining stuff to me.
Speaker 5 (01:39:51):
But they were.
Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
They were all Shellanne is the is the new place
to go. Wow, so that's that could be something.
Speaker 4 (01:39:58):
Okay, good, all right, road trip time.
Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
Uh, I'm done with my question.
Speaker 4 (01:40:06):
Now get it home now, kid.
Speaker 5 (01:40:16):
Sounds like it's painful. All right. Can which one you got?
I have a little envelope. See what we got here?
Speaker 4 (01:40:29):
Well that's a little teeny one one.
Speaker 5 (01:40:31):
This was questions all folded. Call out a cranky golfer.
Oh okay, I will.
Speaker 4 (01:40:41):
Well that sounds like something that you would get.
Speaker 5 (01:40:43):
This wasn't exactly my story, but uh, my wife likes golfing.
She has a friend she golfs with Jim and I
think it was last Thursday. Uh they went to Lake
Tall Creek kind of South hill up there. Uh and
also the uh, a couple of their friends had a
tea time before them, so they knew they would run
(01:41:05):
into them and their friends are a Scott and Cindy.
You guys have met them. They've golfed with us before,
and they actually kind of work part time at some
a county course, so by doing that they kind of
get a discount and they can kind of get a
(01:41:27):
tea time squeezed in there. So anyway, I think Scott
and Cindy had a tea time at ten o'clock, and
that was a lady's golf thing that was before that,
and they always end. I guess that's a Thursday morning
thing and they're done about ten. Anyway, Scott and Cindy
(01:41:48):
had a tea time right at ten, so they're up there.
Trisia and her friend I think were might have been eleven,
so they were just kind of arrived early. There was
apparently an older gentleman and his golfing partner and they
came up to the tea box and said, what are
(01:42:09):
you doing here? We're we're always the ones the tea
off after the women's grip. That's just the way it goes.
We're always the ones. And there it was very uh,
very cranky, and he I'd say he's he might have
been early seventies he might have been seventy two. Oh
(01:42:31):
that's the and you know my friend Scott Siddy, they're
very Scott just said, okay, all right, that's fine, you
just go ahead and do that. Well Marshall from the
clubhouse walks down and could see some discussion and came
down there and said to the gentleman, said, sir, you're
(01:42:56):
actually ten minutes early. This is their tea time. And
so they went ahead and our friends teed off and
then these you don't want to cranky behind you.
Speaker 4 (01:43:12):
That's the other thing. You almost want them to go.
Speaker 5 (01:43:14):
They're behind And they didn't know until they got to
the halfway point that uh, the people behind them had
been calling the marshall the whole time, complaining about them.
I don't even know for why. And then when they
got to the halfway point, our friends who were in front,
(01:43:36):
said well, we're just two twosomes. Would you guys like
to just join us? And they said no, we do
not want to do that. And then when they finished
it just cranky. When they finished. I have to give
heads up to my friend Cindy who beat both of
(01:43:59):
them and had a great round. And you know they're
talking at the end and there was no hay, good shot, none,
none of this. And they get back and the Marshal
is standing there. And so my friends went over to
the marshall and just said hi and and and he said,
he said, yeah, don't worry. They have been complaining the
(01:44:22):
whole time. But there's there's no problem.
Speaker 4 (01:44:25):
It's just them, oh Jesus. But so they didn't join,
but they just jep behind them the whole time.
Speaker 5 (01:44:31):
And complain the whole time. But I don't know about what.
They're just mad that they got their ten minutes early
in and they were proved to be wrong. And so
Attrition and her friend they met up with with them
just chatted about it and just once in a while
(01:44:52):
you get a really persnickety general and once in a
while about the scoring and we.
Speaker 4 (01:44:59):
Yeah, oh I've been scolded. You know. In the early days,
you walk on somebody's line. One time I was sitting
there and my shadow was cast. It was in the
fall over a hut line. He would have thought I
had taken his dog and like kicked him into the
river like Baxter or something. He was passed and even
(01:45:20):
I think it was with Brian at the time. He
didn't even notice you know, it was just do you
mind your shot? Like, oh, that's going to make the difference,
mister professional. I mean you can say, hey, could you
you know, you know, you mind stepping out? But yeah,
people could be and it's supposed to be fun, especially
if you're retired. The only thing I could see is
(01:45:42):
if if I would be irritated if I was stuck
behind somebody who was really really being slow when I
could have just been out in front of them and
sped off.
Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
Slow play makes me a little crazy, But not that
not the case this time.
Speaker 4 (01:45:58):
Well, when Marshall says they're wrong, boy, you're not gonna
get over.
Speaker 5 (01:46:03):
That when they start a conversation. While it's always been
this way, this is the way it always is. We're
always the one after the women's Well no, not today,
you're ten minutes early, sir. Anyway, there's a few cranky
golfers out there.
Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
There are, and I know there's a lot of people listening.
You have no knowledge of golf or anything or anything,
but there there is always stories that can come from golf, right,
And a perfect example is just that like, oh, well,
we we were here, we were supposed to do this.
Then this other group says, they always do this and
this is all everything's crazy. Then you get sometimes you
(01:46:43):
get paired up with different people, you meet new people.
I've always said I think ninety eight percent, maybe ninety
nine percent are always good experiences. And I always fear
that because it's like, I don't want to, we don't
want new people with us, but this is this is
our little twosome, and we don't want to.
Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
But it always turns out great.
Speaker 5 (01:47:04):
I would say this on the other side of it, Uh,
they've been paired up many times with and they're always like, oh,
we don't know that, and just had the greatest time,
and a lot of people from out of town, you know.
It joined Spokane.
Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
Golf well, and that happens a lot at the resort,
you know, because you end up with people you're not
they're not in your foursome, but you're you know, there's
different parts where you're waiting by the floating green where,
and it's almost always somebody from another part of the
country and it was their bucket list to be there,
and just the the whole stories of well, yeah, we
(01:47:38):
got in last week and we did this, and we
did that, and we spent the day in Spokane and
then tomorrow we're going to wherever. And this was a thing,
and you just I love the conversations of you know,
the social sociality.
Speaker 5 (01:47:53):
Of and the stuff golf that brings people here, yeah,
which is yeah, I mean, floating green are all huge.
Speaker 4 (01:48:01):
Back in the early days, it was mostly guys and
there it was always me and Brian and then two
guys typically, and it always started the same way. They
were irritated that they had to stop at the girls
teeth right on the shoot. Hey, lets you're talking about
two thousand, two thousand and one. And then because back
(01:48:21):
then I played better, I could definitely keep up and
so it was fine. But they would tell me what
to do. They would read pots for me, they would
give me pointers, and Brian be like, don't do it.
I've been down this path, do not little uphill there, Molly, really, oh,
I couldn't see that, Like, you're not even any better
(01:48:42):
than I am. But they would be once they'd see
us pull up, they'd be like.
Speaker 3 (01:48:49):
I always feel bad about and our friend Leslie, she
was so great yesterday because she was in a joking way,
which is now, remember guys, Yeah, don't go flying past
my tea is let me be in front and then
I'll stop because sometimes you truly do forget and it's
and and I know how that would it would it
would bother me. So I I totally get it. But
(01:49:12):
most of the time when it happens, it's not, you know,
you're just you're in a you're in a habit, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:49:18):
But guys are also guilty of talking, uh in talking
in girls backswings. Absolutely, we'll have full on conversations while
we're at the tea, and but when they're at the tea,
they're wholly on quiet signs. Yeah, and you get up there,
it's like, oh, yeah, well I know, I think you're
up there. No, no, I saw you go off to
(01:49:38):
the left. Okay, well I'm going to use my name, Hello,
I'm here.
Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
Or how does that ac DC song go?
Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
Yeah, yelling and screaming in the background.
Speaker 2 (01:49:50):
It's taking it to another level.
Speaker 3 (01:49:55):
There is there is the etiquette and I think Molly's
references before and you were very, very lucky because you
you got to learn at a right from the very beginning. Yes,
I was the same way. I had two groups that
you know, Dan was one and then Barb and Toby.
They got me into the gulf. And so I learned
(01:50:15):
all that. And once you learn that, I don't think
people care how terrible you are.
Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
They don't as long as you don't.
Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
You just keep up why you're not an idiot, and
you're not, you know, talking in people's backs, you know
backs or in their vision.
Speaker 4 (01:50:30):
There's also where you stand and stuff and Ken and
I still I still give them some guidance about that
and his buddy and like you, guys, I don't mind.
But if you walk over somebody's line like that in
a that you don't know, they're going to be pissed.
You don't walk straight up to your pall over somebody's
warm footsteps. No, yeah, it's true, but I do I
(01:50:52):
do notice that the rules were a little looser for
the guys. Now this was a long time ago, I don't.
I mean sometimes even now, if you're in a tournament, well,
I think that it's that they were already onto their
next thing, so they're talking and they forget that we're
still trying to get to that thing. And then here, oh, no,
get it, I'm trying to hit the ball. Stop it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:20):
I love golf, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:51:23):
Molly is the only one left right, you know questions,
all those questions that were that you read, they're still
on there.
Speaker 4 (01:51:32):
Remember the last time I got one of them, it
was like, I did, who is your worst act? How
many people have you done it with? I don't know. Okay,
this is a good one. What agenda slash propaganda are
you trying to ram through? It's just not sticking.
Speaker 5 (01:51:48):
Who wrote that?
Speaker 4 (01:51:51):
Well, you know, I've been I've been on this. I've
been on this Pasco thing for a while now, and
I realized that it's not it's not sticking. And when
we came through Pasco this last time, I had heard
from very reliable sources that Pasco was on a an
upswing and going to be re you know, right now
(01:52:16):
it's considered the lesser of the three Trice cities. It's
Richland almost all accounts right, all right, things they're changing.
So it's rich Richland and then Kennewick and then Pasco.
And somebody was asking also where the mercantile is, and
it's right, it's at the edge of Pasco's like so
as you.
Speaker 5 (01:52:35):
Head through, okay, then there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:52:38):
So I heard a while back it's kind of like
the Yakamas of Palm Springs of Washington, right, it's that
somebody said. Somebody told me that Pasco was making a
real resurgence, a resurgency, And I used your phrase and
I said, it's a city on the rise. It is,
and Ken said, no, it's not. We're driving through and
(01:53:01):
I said, oh, Richly, oh that's the thing of the past.
I said, oh, kennewick A, Pasco, Welcome to Pasco. You
could be home right now. So then we start driving
through and he said, so you think this is the
city on the rise. And I see on my right
like twenty five trucks that are all lined up, just
(01:53:22):
the cabs, and they're all walmart. I said, look all
the tracks that you can see in Pascal, look at
them all. Would they be here if this wasn't a
city on the rise. He goes, that's literally a boneyard
like a thing of things, And I said, okay, And
I looked over there's a huge warehouse. I said, look
at the size of the warehouse. So I'm pointing out
things on the side of the road and he's just
listening to me, he's letting me and I said, did
(01:53:45):
you see that car? A lot? Have you ever seen
so many cars sitting on the rise past the rock.
And I said, I hear Pasco is the new Richland
And he said, no, you didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
You never heard that source.
Speaker 4 (01:53:58):
Please, that's what That's what I usually say. And he
but but he was laughing at the fact. He said,
why are you pushing this agenda? Like he was just
he was curious about why. And then I was I
was a salesperson. I said, look, we can get you.
I was like, do play. I mean, I was thinking
real estate and I would see real estate signs. That's right.
Speaker 5 (01:54:19):
Oh yeah, that's true.
Speaker 4 (01:54:21):
That's thank you. Good point city on the rise. Now,
speaking of speaking of real estate, so when we were
in when we're at the coast and we're at Copalis,
there is a walk from the Rvy Park to the
Green Lantern and there is a dwelling that has been
there and for sale since the very first time we came.
(01:54:44):
And it is a kind of a cedar. It's a
cinder block thing, and it's got a bunch of crap
in it, like somebody was going to open a little
store and then left it all there. And the lady,
the lady who's trying to sell it, her name is
like Anna is somebody and she's got an AOL account
her email Anna it's not happening, and she's in charge
(01:55:04):
of all of the the like her sign is on everything,
all the broken down stuff anywhere between. You know, it's
sort of a depressed area in some ways the rise.
But there's a whole RV park that's right at the
like kind of at the sand dunes, right before the ocean,
that has been abandoned. It's all dry grass and stuff.
And I think that that is also one of Anna's properties.
(01:55:27):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (01:55:28):
An well, that's probably when she first listed it.
Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
I said, yeah, but this Pasco thing so and then
I said, and then right when you come to the
end of this glorious area, you get the burcantile, I said, so,
you know, and then I was pointing out walmarts. I
believe I was a target within sight of the highway, sure,
and so it became just our thing. But I've this
(01:55:52):
is the second or third time I've tried to push
this through our way through. I just want to know
if anybody has heard anything about it being breaking resurgence.
Speaker 5 (01:56:02):
I always thought they should just have a sign that
says welcome to the tri cities. We don't know which
is wit. I couldn't never tell you what city.
Speaker 3 (01:56:13):
In the only way I know is that you go
into Pasco and like most most of the time it's
going to Portland. Is where you'll.
Speaker 2 (01:56:24):
Show you you you go into the uh.
Speaker 3 (01:56:26):
Pasco is the first one you come into and then
you go out at Kennewick and Richland. I don't know
that I ever experienced Richland when I make.
Speaker 4 (01:56:34):
That drive because it's off to the side. And I
know Richland because my ex in laws lived there and
they live really close to the river and they and
that's where Brian grew up. He went to high school.
Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
Stuff a bomber.
Speaker 4 (01:56:47):
What's the other one?
Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
Richland Bombers.
Speaker 4 (01:56:49):
But what's the other one? There's a rival. I think
he was the other.
Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
Back in the old days. And this was controversial, the
Richland Bombers. Their helmet was mushroom cloud. Yeah, and it
was like, well that's you can't do that, you know, yes.
Speaker 4 (01:57:07):
Well it is. Dad works at at the you know,
the the plant I haven't heard, yeah, and he was
in charge of like cleanup. I mean, he's an engineer,
but he's very smart.
Speaker 5 (01:57:17):
A lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:57:18):
Money came into that area because they had to do
the cleanup.
Speaker 4 (01:57:23):
That's right. And I think that's where because I think
they were from somewhere in Pocatella or like somewhere in
Idaho or something, and then they came to the Tri Cities,
and I think it's because of that somewhere. I might
have it wrong, but I still, I still I'm saying
that Pasco. Look, they can only get better from here, right.
(01:57:46):
I spent a night in the Pasca airport. Do you
guys remember that story when I was flying home from
la Oh. Yeah, So I went down to visit the
family and it was the weirdest thing. It was like
you Burbank or lax to Pasco then spoken so all
we had to do his land and the weather was
getting iffy, and it was a it was an old
one of those like l DC nine type planes, and
(01:58:08):
and it broke. But then there was a plane right
next to it that was exactly like it. But they said, no,
we can't because of whatever, And so I had to
stay the night and it was a hotel. And I
remember Bill Boyd, my boyfriend at the time. I said,
you had to drive. I can't miss work tomorrow. Oh
my God, you know, I just started this job. It
was with you guys. So he drives down. By the
(01:58:29):
time he gets there, me and the other people have
had so many chocolate martinis that I'm like, I can't
I get in your car. I sleep it off here.
He said, I drove through a snowstorm to get here. Yeh,
I said, did I have a room? And then they
gave me it's fine, and so I ended up missing work. Anyway,
We're driving home the next day and he's just pissed.
He's like, you could have flown home the next morning.
(01:58:51):
I said, I know. But Hanford Falcons, Oh, michaela from Postfalls.
Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
There still is an atomic cloud on the helmets. Really, yeah,
she was. She was a bomber in nineteen ninety six.
She must have went to that high school, oh, Hanford Falcons.
Speaker 4 (01:59:10):
Yeah, I can't remember what school he went to. I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
Yeah, rich rich Richland bombers Hanford Falcons.
Speaker 4 (01:59:17):
Well, I used to check in with his parents and say,
have you heard anything about the people on the other side.
All I know is I've gotten completely lost going through
the tri city on my way. It'll right, it'll take you,
and if you don't go on the right thing, and
then you're an elopement that clover leaf and it's like,
oh my god.
Speaker 5 (01:59:34):
Yes, everybody's been yeah Blue Bridge. And then which city
is the dairy Queen? And that's the only place, I.
Speaker 4 (01:59:41):
Mean, which city they have.
Speaker 5 (01:59:43):
There's one dairy queen there. I know where to get.
Speaker 3 (01:59:46):
To that one Pasco cot R City.
Speaker 4 (01:59:56):
I don't know why it's such an important thing to me,
but once I heard it, I was like, no, it's real,
you guys, it is well.
Speaker 3 (02:00:03):
I tried to make that case for Detroit, you know,
and I had heard reputable Detroit when when they had
all their problems, and they had a ton of problems
and all the car money went away, that it was
kind of rebuilding and they were trying to be a
techie thing, and and you know, there's some real nice
parts of Detroit, but still on all the lists of
(02:00:23):
the bad places, it's always Detroit a bunch of places
down south. And so my experience in Detroit, although very limited,
has been fine, and the people have been very all
the uber people that they're all great.
Speaker 2 (02:00:39):
That's cool, Detroit co O t R.
Speaker 4 (02:00:46):
Pasco. Give it a chance. When you can't afford to
live somewhere else Pasco when you're just getting started, when
you're trying to escape your family. There's a lot of
things Pasco and you really like it hot, hot, and dusty.
Speaker 2 (02:01:03):
Asco Pasco third, but trying harder.
Speaker 4 (02:01:11):
Oh well, all right, I'd love to talk to somebody
who is from Pasco. And I know there are people
who work in the Tri Cities and then you know
they go back and forth or whatever. You know, who
listened to us?
Speaker 3 (02:01:24):
Oh yeah, yeah, we have a lot of people in
the Tri Cities.
Speaker 4 (02:01:30):
Well why aren't they saying anything?
Speaker 3 (02:01:33):
They should be chiming in. Huh, let's see.
Speaker 4 (02:01:36):
Is there anybody listening in Pasco right now?
Speaker 3 (02:01:39):
There's somebody hang on, yes, okay, uh.
Speaker 4 (02:01:45):
I don't know which of the Tri Cities it is,
but that's five o nine four four eight three two
three seven. If you are the one who is listening
from let's hear you from you.
Speaker 5 (02:01:58):
Uh yeah, mm hmmm.
Speaker 6 (02:02:01):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:02:02):
There's somebody in in Boardman.
Speaker 3 (02:02:04):
Remember Boardman is a place that you go through just
coming out of the Tri Cities on the way to Portland.
Speaker 2 (02:02:08):
There's people there.
Speaker 4 (02:02:11):
I don't understand.
Speaker 5 (02:02:12):
There's people in Prosser listening right now.
Speaker 3 (02:02:15):
I love Prossers, and then it looks like West Richland
and Richland.
Speaker 2 (02:02:19):
There's people listening.
Speaker 4 (02:02:20):
To Oh the Richies. They're probably listening on a really
fancy phone. That people with PASCO listening on a flip phone.
I don't like no, I don't like that, the the
reputation that PASCO has. I say, you are what you
what people, you know what you think you are, so
feel good about yourself. It all looks the same.
Speaker 3 (02:02:43):
Okay, all right, after a break, we're back with our
hot topics. All right, we'll get to hot Topics segment
here in just a bit.
Speaker 2 (02:02:49):
All right.
Speaker 3 (02:02:49):
The David Molly Show continues with Ken live from the
