Speaker 1 (00:00):
From downtown Spokane, USA, from the k HQ building in
the Numerica Studios. This is the Dave and Molly Show.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Even we can handle a Thursday, come.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
On, Oh yeah, you can't get it.
Speaker 4 (00:16):
We'll go there.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
You go, feeling good, feeling strong? Yeah, are charging to
the weekend Thursday?
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Man, and we're working. You know, for the record, is
this the third week in a row we've worked a
full week?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Or second?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Second week?
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Second?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Still still trending towards now?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Are there any weeks in a row?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Are there any holidays coming up? Any three day weekends
coming up? Any sort of break. I was going to
have to leave early today, but then they got pushed aside.
So now so now here I am.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Okay, whole day and a busy day today too.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yes, yeah, lots of stuff.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Ken's going to come in early. We'll look forward to that.
We'll have the showdown early at eight o'clock. Sam's going
to bring in and he always hosts the Spokane Paras
Sports event, so he's connected to those people, and so
it's going to be.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
A party in here. It's gonna be a whole lot
of people, some rearranging to clean up my area, make
it look presentable, consolidate. Yep, it's a longer day, yesterday,
longer day. And do you know that I have not
been to the casino since Monday. I don't know. I
don't know, a travesty.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
It's probably the worst thing that's happening.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Monday or was it Sunday. I think it was Monday
because I got my free gift, so well, it could
have anything that was Monday. You went, Yeah, Monday, Monday.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
I didn't go.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Tuesday, I missed senior Day.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
I went Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
You tipped some cows on Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Didn't really work out too well for me though, but
I did. I'm all ready for football. We have the
big football game tonight. It's Quinn's Bills playing the Dolphins,
and I have the that I saw a thing I was,
I don't know, some analytics thing. The Dolphins have a
(02:14):
zero percent chance of winning.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Oh my goodness, like you never like in an NFL,
anything can happen.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Well, anything can happen, right, so but anyway, so I
have the Bills winning the game to keep me in
the alive in the eliminator pool. And then my only
action is the Seahawks just winning. They don't have to
cover any points Bread, they just have to win out.
They're a big favorite at home playing the Saints, who
(02:42):
I boldly stated at the beginning of the season that
there's a possibility that they don't win any games, that
they could be oh in six seventeen.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Same, Well, what if they played the Dolphins or the Browns.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I'd have to look, but I don't know that they
do well. They probably play the Browns because I think
they were I think they were allowed place team the
only shot.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
So with your elimination thing, there are how many how
many teams? Twenty four teams, thirty two teams, thirty two teams,
and you have seventeen weeks. Yes, so you have to
pick seventeen different teams, correct, and you've used up I
used up.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
The Bengals, okay, Ravens, huh, and then this week will
be the Bills.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Okay, so far, so good. Yeah, it's good that you
did the Bengals when you did it before he got injured, right.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Right, exactly right, And that was a kind of a
scary one. I was like, jeez, guys, quit messing around
with these guys. Let's finish this off now. So we
started with forty. I think there were forty of us
that are in it, and now we're down to thirty one.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Can you see who else has picked the bills for
this week?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I can't until the game starts. Oh okay, once the
game starts.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Oh yeah, because you don't want to tip each other
off and be like, oh why are you saying that?
Speaker 2 (03:58):
But I'm sure I won't be alone.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
So if people have the bills left, you know, don't
you use the bills? You can't. You can only use
the team one time, That's right. So I also did
some managing of my fantasy team, my invisible team as
you call it. I am oh in too. It's not
going well. I don't think I drafted very well. I told,
(04:23):
I told everybody, told, I mentioned on the air. I
told Quinn, I said, I don't really like my team.
I just I was just just bad luck and just
things didn't go right. So when the when the draft
was over, it's like, yeah, this doesn't look very good
and I don't know, I'll try to piece it together. Yeah,
and I'm playing our our friend Mercedes this week.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Oh so they did my division so oh I see,
I see who does she have as her quarterback.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Well, she here's her thing. She had Joe Burrow and
she had him last year too. And she has Joe
Burrow and Jamar Chase there. That's the quarterback receiver combination.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Last year. This year she has Burrow, but he's injured.
So then she got Daniel Jones, who is a quarterback
for the Colts, who was the Giants quarterback and they
kind of ran him out of town. I think he
got a bad deal. I don't think he's terrible. I
think he was on a terrible team. So anyway, that's
(05:24):
that's all. So it's a it's a must win situation.
It's early in the area.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Yeah, must win.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I don't want to fall three back behind the division leader.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
No, and I have my action too. I was trying
to just thinking, what the heck did I do that
ticket that you got me? Oh, here it is. I
have millians and then I will make I'll have eighty
two dollars after Monday night.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
If, if, if, and only if.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, that's gonna be a tough game. I know it's
the Ravens and that's gonna be tough. But then I'm
gonna I'm gonna roll it over. I'm just gonna keep
this money rolling too.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
That's what I'm doing.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
It's like a tumbleweed, right, it just keeps collect money. Yeah,
and then.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Just keep on winning and then one other sports note,
we'll hit this real quick and then we'll then we'll.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Get to the regular and we have a big announcements too.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Yes. Yeah, the Mariners their ten game win streak, no ended.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
You were overlooking the opponent. You did it to them.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I did overlook them.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah, they heard you, Yeah, maybe they did.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
They'll they'll finish them off today though. So they played
the Royals again today and with that loss, the Astros
have regained first place.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
And then they have to play each other, right.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
They play each other tomorrow in Seattle, so that it's
a big series and we never overlook an opponent and
we're not sure we sweep.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
The This you did to your team a terrible.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
So there there was all that. Yeah. Yeah, so yes,
I finished up here and then got home. My daughter
was not feeling well, so I didn't that was off
the board. I was going to take her to work
and I got a text from her and she's not
feeling well. First she thought she had some kind of
flu thing, but she recovered. She's fine now, she'll be
(07:10):
at work today. But I think it almost had to
have been something that she ate, because when it's one
of those kind of things where it's a one day thing, where.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
It's you know, gets out of your system.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
So I think so. Anyway, so that allowed me to
get home, get a few things done. She was downstairs,
she was sleeping most of the day. Nadine came over
with her dogs, so for a small stretch of time
we had four dogs roaming about. It was crazy. They're
all good friends now, so when they come over, they're
(07:42):
all happy. You know, tails are wagging and they're greeting
each other, and they were running around in the backyard. Yes,
it was a really nice day. It was really pretty day,
and so they were, you know, doing their thing. And
then then my oldest daughter, we're going to go see
the spinal Tap movie. And the original plan was I
was going to she thought she would be working later,
(08:04):
so we were just going to meet there. Well, then
she chexts and said, hey, I'm actually going to be
on time. I'll just come to your house and then
we'll go down together. So that worked out perfect. We
get down to River Park Square, it's you know, it's
a Wednesday, early evening, late afternoon. The movie was at
five point forty five. I couldn't believe how quiet it was.
(08:25):
Really just there. Where is everybody? Yeah, I mean just.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
I'm all just yeah, I worry how much.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
One of my takeaways is like survive.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, it was just really really quiet. So of course,
and she has all the the perk thing whatever their
club is for the movies. So she had the tickets,
and then I of course want the big giant bucket
of popcorn that's refillable, yes, and then and then the
(08:59):
diet co well, it's like you get a discount to
start with. And then she had five dollars in extra
bonus money or whatever. So we got all this stuff
for like thirteen dollars. Wow, which in the world of
movie that's pretty good because usually, you know, your concession
price is more than the actual ticket price.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
By a lot.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yes, that's how they get you jail.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
So anyway, the movie. I'll get to the movie here
in just a bit. But we get there and it's
all trailers, and because we are in the season that
we're in, it's a lot of like Halloween carry movies,
and I can't believe the gore and violence. It was
three movie trailers in a row that were all just
(09:46):
I was looking away. I can't even even the it's
just terrible.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Well, and Spinal Tap is probably righted R right so
or PG thirteen so they.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Can show a PG thirteen. I mean there was some
funny line. The lyrics of the Spinal Tap songs are hilarious.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
You know, well, I was re listening.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
To hell That's what they opened their concert with. They
opened their concert with Hellhole, and then there's I think
I can say it. One of the lyric lines is
I'm in a flesh tuxedo with my pink torpedo.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
That came up.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
You know, it's funny. It's good anyway, the trailers were horrible.
Other than the the there's a new Sydney Sweeney movie
where she plays the boxer. She has two movies coming out, yeah,
back to back. She's one in November, which I guess
(10:51):
the early reviews are pretty good. Like you know, there's
some some buzz on it. It's true story. Back in
the eighties there was a female boxer who was, you know,
beating up everybody. So she plays her really so she
had to put on thirty pounds and really, my daughter
has some connections, so she you know, when when Sydney
Sweeney was at her lake place. This was last year
(11:14):
when she was getting it. She had to gain thirty
pounds wow for that role. And so she's like like
lifting weight. She had her whole weight thing out.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
So she was lifting, she was gaining thirty weight of.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Muscle, well muscle, and she was eating like cheeseburgers and
just going crazy.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
She had to be that's, oh my god, that would
be hard to do that.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Then she you know, lost it all. And then the
other movie that she's in this was shot a while back,
is The Housemaid, which was a huge But that's a
book that I read. My daughter had recommended the book
and the book is very good. And I saw the
trailer for that. That wasn't last night, but that was on,
you know, yesterday, just on the computer. And that looks
(11:57):
so good. That's going to be really great. That comes
out December nineteenth. Her boxing movie. The boxing movie is
called Christy Oh, both different than my daughter's name. Yeah,
and that comes out in November. So she has two movies.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Does see how does she look with that extra weight on,
does she look.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Different?
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Like, yeah, if you just from a from a quick view,
I don't even know that you would recognize her.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
It's like when Charlie's Theoon did Monster, Remember, you couldn't
even recognize it because she is one of the prettiest
people out there, Charlene, I mean Charley's Theoron, but that
when she gained that weight and did the bad hair,
It's like, yeah, but boy, Sidney Sweeney certainly lost it
all because you see her on the you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
That Housemaide movie is going to be really I'll probably
see both of them, you know, but the Housemaid movie
I definitely want to see because that was a huge book,
great book, and then the the movie. When I saw
the trailer gave me chills. It was like and they
did a perfect job of like how I pictured the
(13:09):
room where she stays is exactly how it looked in
the movie. It's like, Okay, they did a good job
with that. So anyway, so the you know, the trailers
and then the other one, the one good trailer was
the Margot Robbie Colin.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
That I want to see that that looks good and
we have.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Some news on that in the Entertainment News today later.
But that looked pretty good, you.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Know, you know, the Penguin won the night before or
to whatever. Our friend who's the makeup artist for the
Penguin won the award, the Emmy for the Penguin, So
it was it was in the one before you know,
they do the other ceremony for the arts and whatever.
But because Colin Farrell was there at the Emmys and
he had a son with them, and it was kind
(13:53):
of cool. He didn't win this year, but his makeup
artist people won, so that was cool. So how was
Spinal Tap?
Speaker 2 (14:02):
It was fun, it was, and I guess I can
give some of it away, I mean, if you want
to see it. But Paul McCartney is in it, and
Elton John is in it. And when we left the
movie last night, when we were talking about it, we
were talking about how I love that Elton John just.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Went all in on this really.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
There's a scene at the end where you know, they
all end up in the hospital and Elton John is
because he's Elton John, all of his casts have sequins
all over him and stuff, and it's pretty funny. Paul
McCartney's very good.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
And then what's his name from the roots. He's in it.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Yeah, he's just in it for a quick minute, and
he's on a video screen, so they're trying to talk
to him the story of spinal tap. Of course, they
have all of the problems with the drummers. Yeah, all
the drummers passed away, right, and one was the bizarre
gardening accident. Yeah, and then one was choked on vomit,
(15:06):
but they weren't sure who's.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Vomit, right. They can't test for vomit.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Right, so that that rounds up in the thing. And
then they end up with a female drummer. Oh it's
pretty good. Oh, so that's all I'll say about Okay,
it was fun. It was everything that you know. It's
kind of like I was going to like it no
matter what it's It was fun that some of the
lines in it are very funny, and then the visuals
(15:32):
are hilarious.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
I might wait until it comes out on video. When
do you think it'll come out on video? Like when
will it be streaming?
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Probably in a month, Yeah, I don't think you have
to wait too long. There was only like, oh, there
was probably less than ten people in the theater.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Yeah, Well, but it was fun.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Because you could hear people laughing, like you know, in
all the right spots. I thought it was fun.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I want to see but they do open the concert
with hell hole, and I forgot because our nickname was,
you know, hell hole for our old space. And so
you know, when I was looking at their previews and
they were seeing a hell hole.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
They have all the fire coming up anything. And then
the Stonehenge song was hilarious because the whole you know arena,
they all have their little Stonehenge just they're holding up
and they're cheering, and then that's when Elton John comes up.
He plays the piano for that. He's all in on
this movie. I love it. It's pretty fun. Yeah, it's
(16:35):
super cool. And then we were my daughter and I
were talking about as we're leaving the movie, I said,
I like it when the regular people and Elton John,
of course isn't a regular person, but like in the
Happy Gilmour Too, where they get just regular goth but
they they buy into the whole thing. And I love that.
And Elton John was very fun in this movie, like
(16:58):
when they convinced him to do it, they said, okay,
well you know this is the spinal tap guys and
these are their songs and we want you to play
the part of like, oh you've been following them for
years and all that kind of stuff, and then he
plays in their concert. I don't know. I like it.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
It's good.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
It was fun, and then super quiet in the mall
when we left. I mean, you know, when you walk
to your car and it's like, yeah, where did everybody go?
There's no there's no one even in the parking lot.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
That makes me nervous for the I know, we were
talking yesterday that Banana Republic is gone now and I
didn't realize Banana Republic was gone and they put something else.
They're putting something else in there, and I don't know what.
But you know, Nordstrom I think does okay. But you
just I don't know. I wish, I wish. I wish
(17:53):
people would visit the mall. It is very expensive to
park though too.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
You know, yeah it was only four bucks.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Oh that's not bad.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yeah, because I think we got there after five and
then we had the dollar off because of the movie,
and so that was a That part was fine.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
The other thing I did, so I was getting all
these messages yesterday that my ring cameras, the batteries were low.
So when I got home yesterday, I get the the
two ladders, the one the rickety old wooden ladder. I
got to take one thing off of the front ring thing,
the battery. You got to take the battery out, and
(18:31):
then on the on the side, I have to use
the giant ladder, which is my friend's ladder. Cameras do
you have there's well, there's there's three other ones, you know,
there's three and then there's the doorbell.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Wow. So it's like Fort Knox, Fort Knox.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah, but they all they all seem to run out
of battery at the same time. So I so then
I have to get the big ladder out to get
the one on the side. So I'm doing this. This
is the afternoon, you know, when I just get home,
so I'm charging them up. Well, then when I get
home from the movie last night, it's dark. It's you know,
eight o'clock or whatever. I after we after the movie,
we chatted for a little bit and everything. So then
(19:07):
I get home and then I see that the batteries
are are done charging and it's like, oh, I still
got to go outside. So my daughter was feeling better.
She's watching TV, and I told her, I said, I'm
going to go out and put these batteries back in tonight.
I said, if I'm not back in ten minutes, come
looking for me, because that means I fell off the ladder.
(19:28):
And she was like, what I said, Everything will be fine.
So I go out there because I left the ladders right,
you know there, just so I didn't have to put
them away, and then everything so everything that went very fine.
Everything is fine. So but it was like a chore
that I wasn't expecting to do at that time of night,
(19:49):
when it's dark out.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
It's like when I get home on a Thursday and
I'm all comfy and I go, crap, it's trash day
and then I'm like in my pajamas and I'm out
on the side of the thing.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Yes, I don't like the same kind of deal.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Uh huh, But you got it done.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
I did get it done. And then I was trying
to find something on TV and there was there was
nothing that was working for me. I was up late.
I think it was because I had the giant diet
coke with the pop born.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
How much popcorn was able to.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
I only had one bucket. Yeah, it's pretty good for me.
I never went for the refill.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
That is good.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
That's very good for me.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Yeah, but I feel like I left some money on
the table.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Well, but you got a deal, so I think. I
think when your whole situation is only thirteen bucks, you
feel a little less like you.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Have to very much.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
So all the popcorn.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
So yeah, well, and I think I slept okay. The
dreams that I have with that sleep vibe thing, that's incredible.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Yep, so I know I slept. I slept well again
the night before. I remember, I never I was just
out last night. I woke up a little bit but
went back to sleep, but it was Yeah, it's pretty good.
We should make our big announcement.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Real quick right now. I think we should save it.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Okay, all right, I think we should do it right now. Wait,
let's do it now now, now do you want to
do it?
Speaker 5 (21:14):
Now?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Do you want me to?
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Well, let's do it for the next segment, so then
we can tell people, so then they'll there's still for
the next segment. Let's pulling back the curtain.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
See what we're doing. So yesterday I left here a
little bit early. I was I got the video done.
I got a lot of stuff done, but I left
a little early and I needed a head to the
store get a few things, and then I was going
over to my friend Mary's house because it was put
all the auction items together.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Day, so not just the silent auction but the rest
live everything.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
And let me just tell you, so the event is
next Saturday night. There is a package that is a
date for a year. It's like so it dates like
it will be one of the dates and this is
you know, so you can buy. The package is the Symphony,
a night stay at the Spokane Club and dinner for two. Okay,
(22:09):
that's a date. One date is five hundred dollars in
Southwest Money, Oh geez, so you could just go fly somewhere.
Another date is Klinkerdagger and the Spokane Civic Theater. Another
one is two hundred dollars in Anthony's. Another one is
one hundred dollars at AMC with a restaurant downtown. How
(22:32):
many dates there's like twelve dates. I mean like it's
a for a year basically, and that's one package and
that's awesome. Then there's a girl's shopping spree that has
like Athleta and Nordstrum and all all the different places
TJ Max, Sephora. It's really cool and a haircut and color,
(22:52):
so it's the whole thing. Then we have a we
have a Northern Quest stay and play thing. We have
one that's two Alaska Airlines and five hundred dollars at
hotels dot com and the Alaska Airlines tickets are for
anywhere in the United States, anywhere that Alaska or Hawaiian
Island or Hawaiian flies because they've merged. So that is
(23:16):
the live auction is going to be awesome. And then
a silent auction has so many cool things. The Raffle
has really in the Raffle, there's a quarreline, resort, stay
in play package, golf and everything. So anyway, when you
get to Mary's house and we've got two people who
are going to be on computers doing things, and then
Mary and I are going to be deciding everything, and
(23:36):
I'm looking at all of this stuff and I'm just like,
oh my god, because the process that is implemented this
year is so complicated. I mean, you have to jump
through all these hoops and so in case you're audited
and all that stuff, so everything has to be inputed
and numbered and then you Anyway, Mary ordered some pizza,
(23:57):
which was nice. I brought some snacks. So it was
like three clock and and and silly me thought, well,
we'll just bang this out. I got there at noon
and by three I was kind of a little punchy,
you know, I'm just like, this is you know, Well,
then we get to I think I left there at
five thirty.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
And and we had at that point we had put
all of the live auction, all the raffle, and all
the silent auction items together. So we've now made decisions,
but now they have to be inputed. So then our
friend Jennifer came and she was kind of in and
out throughout the day. She said, let's just let's just
bang this out. I said, you guys, my dog's been alone.
I gotta I gotta go home. I'm done my part. Well,
(24:37):
I'm getting calls till seven thirty, I think, with questions
like you guys are still doing this. I feel terrible.
Oh my god. They were, I mean, but they're troopers.
They just they just said we're doing it. We're finishing
it tonight. So that was amazing. So I did go
home and I did walk the doggie actually went out
for a walk. I don't knowize how warm it was
going to be. Yeah, I was uncomfortable at the end.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
We had the windows open driving home from the movie. Yeah,
it was just because it.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Was it was a farm. It was just it was
like probably five forty five when I took her six
o'clock and it was still the sun was still. So
I went down to the golf course and went around.
But I'm listening to the Charlie Sheen book and he's
telling the story about Platoon, and the reason he got
Platoon is because it kept getting pushed off because of
the up like the Philippines were, you know, the horrible
(25:25):
things were going on in the Philippines. So Oliver Stone
kept having to push the movie back. Well, Amelia Westavius
was supposed to play the part that Charlie Sheen played,
and because it got pushed back, Amelia was doing something else,
and you know he was he had already done The
Breakfast Club. I mean he was having a career and
Charlie Sheen had really done nothing yet. So he was
(25:46):
talking about so Johnny Depp and Corey Feldman and I
mean that platoon had a huge cast. H So they
have to go to the Philippines, and he had already
been at in the Philippines filming with his dad Apocalypse. Now.
It'd spent a lot of time as a kid. And
it's like one hundred and fifteen degrees there with like humidity.
(26:06):
So they sent him three weeks early, and they sent
him to and it was this former Marine captain guy
whatever who had the idea and came and said, let
me let me train these people, let me show them
what it's like. So they had to live for three
weeks in the actual conditions that people would have lived
in homp they're doing homes, he said. Forrest Whitaker lost
(26:29):
thirty pounds and they and he was supposed to be
like big George or big whatever, and they're like, crap,
he's getting thin. They's not going to fit the partner more.
But Johnny Depp was there and he was talking about
how they would like live in the bunkers and I
mean he said it was it was, It was awful,
just john Yeah, Johnny Depp, wasn't it. I don't remember that.
(26:49):
I don't remember him in there either, And Johnny Depp
was the one that got Charlie Sheen smoking. He had
never smoked a cigarette. And then Johnny Depp, I guess
when they were filming, they just would say and cartons
and Marlboro's, and he said that he was never without
a cigarette like that. It just never and you were
always downwind of it, and it was like, dude, And
so then he started. I guess the character had to smoke,
(27:12):
and so that's when he started. And he just quit
in like two thousand and nineteen, I think he said
or something, but he said, thanks a lot, Johnny. Thanks,
because Johnny was like, ha ha, I got another one.
He said, on every film I turned somebody into a smoker.
It's like that's a terrible thing to do, my god.
But so that was kind of interesting. And then I
(27:32):
got home and made myself some dinner, and I was
watching remember the movie The Neighbors It, Yeah, Roseburn's right, Roseburns.
I was movies and seth Rogen. I think it's Roseburn.
Yeah she's yeah, she's from the Peter Rabbit movies and
all that. Anyway, they buy a house and then a
frat house moves in next door at zac Efrott and
(27:53):
all his friends, and so it's it's funny, it's silly.
There's there's a lot of silliness in it. But it
was just good light comedy, just to watch and have
my dinner and nothing bad really, you know. And then
I was in bed early and I was up early,
and I did prepare a video of my acting.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Oh boy, here we go.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
I don't, I don't. I here's the thing. It's not.
It's not the worst acting you've ever seen. It's not
that it's the work well, the judge of that. The look,
it's the and it's just the oh, how to explain it.
It makes me cringe, and it makes me very uncomfortable
to watch it. The guy who is in it is
(28:39):
very dramatic and you'll see he grabs me and it's wrong.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
You know.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
It's a two minutes and it's I'm wearing everything you
would want from a girl in the late nineties or
early nineties to be wearing. It's just after the eighties,
you know, you just get through the eighties and now
you're on the cusp of this new era. But you
still have your big shoulder pads and big earrings and
blue mascara and whatever. I mean, so I prepared that
(29:05):
this morning. Okay, in case we want to unleash it.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Oh, I say, unleash it. Okay, Oh it needs to
be unleashed.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Unleash it early. So anyway, that was the day. It
was just it was we I mean, we had a
good time putting all the packages together. But it's just
I am very thankful that I have friends who are
willing to do that. I get to a point. I mean,
they also get up four hours after I do, so
when I hit five o'clock, they still have some gas
(29:32):
in the tank. And I don't. I'm you know, I'm
just it's a long day and I foolishly thought I
would have time like, oh, we'll work on it for
a few hours. Oh maybe I'll head out to the casino.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
No, that was off the board.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Oh god, yeah, that was yeah, it was. It was
all day, all day. But we do have some really
really cool things. One of the things in the Silent
Auction is a day on the air with Dave and Molly.
And here's what I added to to it. There's each
person will get one of our personalized mud one's a
(30:05):
water bottle, one's a coffee mug, and fifteen dollars a
Dutch bros. Do you get it? Because you're getting up
early to come in, So do you get it? So
you get your Dutch bros. You each get a coffee
on your wind.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Get it? You should explain because.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
It's morning time, and then you get your thing and
then you get to come in and spend the morning
with us. And I think I put I put some
shopping bags and some bottle openers. So it's all the
things we have to offer, sure, plus a day on
the air with us, and I hope it. I did
put it in a silent auction. I didn't want to
do too many live auction items, you know how that goes.
There's ten and I think that's a good amount, plus
(30:41):
the paddle rays and that, and it's going to go well.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
So give me the So, how many live auction how
many silent auction I.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Think we have? Well, we want to We'll end up
with about thirty silent auction items. So two tables, you know,
not too much, five raffle items okay, and then ten
live boxtions items.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
How much do the raffle tickets cost?
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Five bucks?
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (31:03):
And the there we have a scary wood package. We
have a Pinos palette whole package with wine glasses and stuff.
And we have the Quarterlaine Resort Stay and Play, which
is a great one. And then we have a guitar
and two hundred dollars at Hoffman Music. That's another raffle item.
So that's going to be pretty cool. And we have
(31:25):
a Ben Joyce in the in the live auction, we
have a Jim Battel and our friend Jim Hotel. Yeah,
it's gonna be cool. And then we have another thing
where you win half a side of beef and a
freezer to keep it in Okay, and this is we
sell fifty one hundred dollars tickets you have one of Yeah,
(31:45):
we don't have any Zaggs tickets this year, so we're
doing that instead. But I mean half a side of
beef and then but most people will be like, where
am I going to put it? Well on the freezer.
We're giving you a freezer two freezer too, huh how
about that? Yeah, So it'll be fun. And Quinn and
I finished up our videoings so that it's good and
(32:05):
it's just, uh, it's just it's gonna be Everything's going
to be fine. We still have all of next week. Oh,
we're way ahead. I think we're in good shape. Yesterday
was a big one to get out of the way. So, yep,
that's what I got you.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
You got wine wineries different.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
It's gonna be. Yeah. We have three breweries. We have
two wineries. We have Arbor Crest and we have Barrister.
Then we have a lady who's making mocktails because that's
very popular now. And then everybody's gonna have wine on
the tables, and then there's gonna be extra wine. There's
no listen to this. Once you get in there, like
you'll buy raffle tickets, yeah, and you'll bid on stuff,
(32:49):
but as far as the wine and the beer goes,
there's no exchange of money. It's just we'll just have
it there. Great, we'll just have it there.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
So I can get myself tanked up and then just
kind of get really loud during the thing. And then right,
that's my rainhill part.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Yeah, Hey, Molly can do some of that, that would
be great. The best thing you could do is interrupt
what what's really fun? This is great is right with
Tom Sherry, our auctioneers on a roll, and he's working.
Just stand no, wait a second, Wait a second, you guys,
this item is awesome.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
What's going on?
Speaker 3 (33:26):
You could come on jeeps, skates? Yeah yeah, do stuff
like that.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Okay, that good? No, can people still buy tickets or
is it also old?
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Oh yeah, they can buy tickets. There's we're pretty close
our tables. What we have is like we have sponsors
who have purchased tables that comes with their Like Northern
Quests are Signature sponsored. They gave us ten thousand dollars
this year and that came with two tables, but they'll
probably fill one. So you know, we're plugging people into
the extra seats. But I think there's still some. You
can go to safety net Inlandnorthwest dot org and then
(33:58):
go to events and then it's one hundred bucks to
get in. Okay, at our ticket price is low. A
lot of these most of these are way more than that.
And it's a fun night too. Also you can wear
what you have on, wear your golf stuff. It's the
night of it's the theme is adventure but like because
they but it's adventurousyl that's right, You're going to venture
(34:20):
out onto a golf course, so you really can and
fit in comfortable. Absolutely that's the whole point. No, high heels.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
No, And you claim that once I get there, I
can drink all the wine I want.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Yep, Okay, you're I mean, well, you can go to
the wineries and taste their stuff, but then when you
sit down, there's going to be wine on your table, and.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Then we're going to have to have the wine thing,
the wine.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
Pole or the we're not doing the wine pole this, Oh,
that was the other thing. We have the wheel of
winning the wheel, and this is twenty five bucks. I
think it's. I think she's charging twenty five, maybe thirty five,
and you know you're going to get something that's worth
that or more. So it's really an even exchange. And
some of the things in they're like Jimmy Johns. We
have like twelve subs worth one hundred bucks. We have
(35:04):
one hundred dollars gift cards to things. We have Pinot's palette,
We have all kinds of stuff in there.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
So so all I do is spin the wheel and
whatever it lands on that I win that.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Yep. So twenty five bucks, I think it's. I can't
remember if she's doing twenty five or thirty five, but
it'll you'll get your money back. Okay, so there won't
be lesser value, but you might.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
I can do that, do that one.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
It's gonna be fun. Yeah, yeah, okay, you know, the
event's always fun. Now we're getting a lot of texts
and the exact date of my auction is next Saturday,
the twenty seventh, Thank you. Lulu Lemon is going in
where Banana Republic is, which is weird because Lulua Lemon
is across the streets. So I don't know why they're
(35:46):
doing that, isn't there Lulu Lemon? Yeah, see, well a
lot of.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
People and Lulu Lemon.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
Yeah, Molly celebration, she's in show celebration mode. I don't
know what that means.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Oh, Lindau, she she read The Housemaid, but the Housemaid
book is a great book. Have you read any of
the sequels? I have not read any of the sequels.
My daughter has, though she's read the whole thing. And
her question was if the movie is going to be
just based on the first Housemaid book or if it's
going to be all of it. I think they're trying
(36:25):
to see, you know, I mean, you got Sydney Sweeney
and Amanda Safeer aid, how do you see her name.
Those are the two you know. That's that's that's a
pretty good cast, it looks. And the book was so
popular it's going to be a hit. Yeah, so I'm
assuming that if this first one goes well, they'll probably
make movie sequels that get with the other books.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
I've only read the one book.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
Do you think it's going to be too scary for me?
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Though?
Speaker 2 (36:51):
I don't think it'd be too scary, it'd be suspenseful. Yeah,
it's pretty suspenseul Yeah. The trailer was like, oh geez,
I mean, I got chill. It was like, Oh, this
is going to be good. They did a really good
job with that. Kay Anyway, Yes, a lot of talk
about the Lulu Lemon. Oh Alisa is listening from the
(37:13):
home of the Horns today. Oh she said, I didn't
say hello from Molly as I passed the stadium, so
she must be in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Yeah, let's see if we.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Can find no better security of the mall area. That
makes sense why Lululemon is leaving.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Yes, Oh, there we go. There's a Minnesota. It looks
like they're right in the middle of the Great Lake.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
What are you out on a boat?
Speaker 4 (37:45):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (37:46):
There they must be right on one of the lakes,
because it literally is like, right, is that Lake Michigan?
Speaker 4 (37:56):
Anyway?
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Yeah, I like looking at seeing where all the people are.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
So all right, we'll take a break. When we return,
we'll get to the news of the day. Did you
know today is National Cheeseburger Day?
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Yeah, peruve it. Nobody will talk better cheeseburger stuff than
we will.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yeah, we know our cheeseburger.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
I got it right here. We'll also have a major
announcement concerning our one year anniversary celebration night. We'll tell
you where. We'll tell you when coming up out of
the break. Yeah, okay. And then how you do this?
You do it every month?
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Right?
Speaker 2 (38:31):
We have a girls night?
Speaker 3 (38:33):
Yeah, we try to. Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
According to a new report, Yes, women need a girls
night every twenty two days.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
That's about right. I'd say that we have been missing
a little bit. We've had other little gatherings, but we
haven't had our real We've switched it to a girl's lunch, oh,
which works better for all of us. But but yes,
it's I miss my girlfriends. And the thing is is
I've seen them all individually. They've seen each other, but
we haven't all been together just because of schedules.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
So they say it's a it's a real thing, and
they have some statistics that go along with it. You
guys drink a lot, according to this.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Well we used to. Both two of my friends don't
drink at all anymore, and the other one, well wed,
none of us drink at lunch, but the other one
has it. Doesn't drink. It used to be used to be.
And if we had a girl's night, it was an
uber situation and it was like, yeah, I'll.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Go for it, for it. Yeah, all right, we'll get
to that. And then the number of people that have
never had tears of joy. They've never cried tears of joy. Yeah,
that's hard to believe, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
That's sad.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
It's kind of sad. Wow, Okay, I'll get to that.
And then of course the major announcement. All right, all
that and more when we return. The David Molly Show
will continue from the Numerica's studios. Fall hits different in
the inland Northwest. The air gets crisp, sweaters come out
(40:04):

This news segment is brought to you by Silverwool find
them at silverwood themepark dot com.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Before we jump into the news segment, here is our
here's our major announcement. It's very exciting. Yes, next Tuesday,
we'll be celebrating our one year anniversary of the David
Molly Show from the KHQ building inside the beautiful Numerica Studios.
Next Wednesday, Wednesday Night, Yeah at Maryhill Winery and Kendle Yard.
(41:30):
We'll have a little gathering, yeah, of all of our
anyone that wants to show up. It's absolutely free. Everybody come.
We may we may have some things out for people. Yeah,
but we just were and it's it's Wednesday night. I
think Wednesday's a better night than a Tuesday night. Yeah,
because it's it's it's more middle of the week, and
(41:52):
we've done those midweek meetups. Yeah, and we're gonna have
stuff during the show on Tuesday, so it's kind of
like that'll be kind of a way. It's anniversary week, yes,
next week.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Yes, we're very excited about it. We will have some giveaways,
we'll have some prizes. I'd say that we you can
enter to win. No no purchase necessary, Nope. And I
do think we should have some some food. I think
we should have something out for the people. It's only polite, yeah,
oh yeah only and then you know Mary Hill, then
(42:24):
you can order your own food and you can order
we'll have that will be in the VIP room and
probably spill out and then feel free to stick around
and have some wine and hang out, maybe meet some
friends there. I know last time a lot of people
made that their meeting place to then launch into. Like
when we did our firing party, they met there, had
a glass of wine with us, and then they were
(42:45):
going off to do other things. So please stop by.
We'd love to have you.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
It'd be super fun. And we say five to seven,
but it's you will be there later than that. Yeah, Therefore,
looking ahead next Thursday might be a little later start.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
Might be a hangover show. Yeah, it's been a long
time since we've had a hangover show. What's wrong with us?
Speaker 2 (43:07):
To get back on that?
Speaker 7 (43:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (43:09):
People like that.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Get back on the juice man.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Yeah, yeah, I get jacked on the juice.
Speaker 8 (43:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
And if the wine the last time, I well, you
know what happens. Okay, the last time that happened, I
was terribly hung over the next day it was the wine.
And then the next time I had all that wine,
I broke your toilet.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (43:26):
And so I haven't had an overdose of wine since
the toilet incident. I mean I've had drinks obviously, but
I haven't had that be my main thing because it
gets me a little hang hand.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Well, my friends at Maryhill did say, make sure the
girl doesn't streak any of our toilets, I said, I
am on it. I'm going to keep her corralled anyway.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
I think I'll bring my mister microphone things so we
can make announcements.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Okay, that's fun. They did say that we can we
can be wherever we want. The weather next windy as
of now, looks fantastic in eighty one and they have
that amazing deck out there too, so we can be
you know, we can we you know, we can be
anywhere we want. I think that we'll try to do
(44:12):
this central meet up in the VIP room where we
were for the firing point. Yeah, but it is. It
is a come one, come all. You don't have to
be one of the power two hundred to join. However,
if you are, we really would like to to to
have you there and just say hey, you're you're a listener.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
You know, we want to recognize you. Yeah, and I
think we bring we'll bring, We'll bring. I'm going to
say we'll bring five raph items. Okay, let's do that. Well,
five different things that people can win, Okay, like must
be present to win.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
And I'm going to make a bold statement right now.
And I haven't even talked to them. I have not
talked to Klai and I have not talked to Sam,
but I'm gonna I'm going to put social pressure on
that to be there. Yes I am, I don't care.
I don't care.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
Okay, good luck with that.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
I know, I know I might need some good luck
with that.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Yeah, that is a big ass for that hour. That's
like right before their bedtime, I know. And for both
of them, it's far away from their houses. One's all
the way south, one's all the way north. But I
think you could you managed it.
Speaker 4 (45:23):
I know.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Last time Leslie Lowe was going to come and she
was circling. She couldn't find parking. Kate Hudson came last time,
and Paul the news director, he came. So we're hoping
our friends from kge Q will come. Maybe QUINNIFERD will
make an appearance.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
Oh, it would be great.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Last time he couldn't come. I don't know why he something.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Yeah he did, he do. He had something going on.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
I know, but there's no football that night, so there's
no excuse. And it is Oh I think he had basketball.
So it'll be fun. We're just going to hang out
and we can reminisce about the last year and then
we move into our new studio the following week. Yep,
So that'll be by the end of the month, we'll
(46:04):
be in our new studio and then we'll be on YouTube.
Eventually it'll be the whole show. Oh boy, God help
us all. And at the end of this segment, I
am going to unleash the video.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
Oh the unleashing of the video.
Speaker 3 (46:21):
So during the commercials and during the song and during
our little break before we play the cash showdown, you
can go on YouTube and you can observe my two
minutes of acting brilliance from the early nineties. The outfit
alone is worth. Come for the outfit, stay for the cringe. Okay,
it's actually my first line is let's all cringe together.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Okay, let's all cringe together. Yeah, yep. But five to seven, yeah,
Mary Hill Wednesday, that's a day after the official anniversary,
but it's right in the middle of anniversary week. Yes,
we would love to see you there, even if you
just stop by for a quick minute'd be great to
say hello. And it's a big deal for us, and
(47:05):
a lot has changed in one year. What a tremendous
you know, turn of events for us. Thanks to everybody
involved and if you're hearing us, you are involved.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Yes, mary Hill five to seven, we'll see you there.
Mary Hill is in by the way, Mary Hill is
in the Kendle Yards. In case you don't know, it's
Maryhill Winery. So let's see you.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Did you know today is National Cheeseburger Day?
Speaker 4 (47:38):
Yea?
Speaker 3 (47:38):
I know now because you told me.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
I'm going to pledge that I'm going to have a
cheeseburger today.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
You know, it sounds really good. What it's like, a
fat burger, cheeseburger. If you're going to go with a cheeseburger,
just going and big Max sounds really good. I was
looking through my photos. I was kind of getting rid
of stuff, and I came across the photo of me
and my mom in Cordelaine eating the Big Mac.
Speaker 4 (48:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
When you told us we couldn't we say it couldn't
be done. There were people that said it couldn't be done.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Yea.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Yeah, I'm going to choose my burger carefully, but I
too may partake. I haven't had burger in a while.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
A lot of people love the a good old fashioned cheeseburger.
Eighty two percent of us like or love cheeseburgers. Sixty
six percent of people like them topped, with American cheese
cheddar being a close second. I prefer the cheddar cheese. Yeah,
Swiss is the third favorite. Now we get into some
(48:33):
of the stranger burger toppings that work. Okay, the first
one on the list, I've not tried this, but multiple
people said it's fantastic. Peanut butter.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
I have had that. There's a place in It's Wisconsin
Burger and you can get three sliders, and one of
the sliders was that, and it was very good.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
Peanut butter on the ah.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
It was delicious. There may have even been a little
jelly like little sweetness too.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Was good.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
Okay, what about a glazed doughnut for a bun?
Speaker 3 (49:04):
I have seen that happen as well. I might make
a caste for that.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
It might be a bit much for me. Re fried beans,
guacamole piico de gayo, do you do do that?
Speaker 3 (49:15):
I have done guacamole burger for sure. I like grilled
onions and then the cheddar cheese, grilled onions and some guak.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
Yeah, I like it grilled. I like grilled onions. I'm
the weirdest onion person. Raw onions off the board. Nothing
grilled onions. It's a different I don't know why. It's
a different one.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
Of those vegetables and changes so much. It's like broccoli
changes so much from raw to cooking.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
I like raw brockley too, but I prefer the steamed broccoli.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
Carrots. I love raw carrots, hate cook carrots. I do
not like the way the cook carrots taste.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
I'm okay with all carrots. And then I like this one.
I have not tried it, but it sounds fantastic. Pineapple
fused to the burger with the cheese. Oh yeah, so
you put that, you have burger, then the pineapple, and
then the cheese sort of holds it all in. Yeah,
that would be pretty good.
Speaker 4 (50:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, Green Olives, no, a
slice of fried baloney. I don't know if I need
that fried mac and cheese instead of the normal cheese.
Speaker 3 (50:25):
It seems heavy, very heavy.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Marshmallow fluff and chili sauce.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
No, thank you.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
I don't think that I have had this one before.
Slices of hot dogs on a burger. I can't do
that now, But there was a time when it's like, oh,
I want a big meaty thing.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
I knew that was a thing, but that seems like
a lot.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
I think I have a golf round today. I think
after golf, I think it's going to be a cheeseburger.
I think I'm just gonna just hold out. I'm gonna
maybe eat light, then have the golf round. I'll be
starving after the after the round. And then I think,
I because it's National Cheeseburger Day, I'm going to have
a cheeseburger.
Speaker 3 (51:03):
You know. I probably will have to run through McDonald's
tonight for Alex and then maybe that's when I have
my cheeseburger. But I want a better cheeseburger, Like I
don't know, I have to think about the cheeseburger I
do just like the regular cheeseburgers from McDonald's. Just a cheeseburger.
I enjoy that.
Speaker 4 (51:22):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
I don't do the quarter pounder. It's that are a
big mac, but it has to be like really good.
If you just get a crappy you know that they've
thrown together and it's not hot kind of big mac,
not enough sauce, it's it's not worth it. Fatburger makes
a good burger. Get the grilled onions on that.
Speaker 4 (51:43):
Mm hmm hmm.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
Okay, now I'm hungry too.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
I thought you when you said you had a plan,
I thought, oh, you're gonna order up cheeseburgers. I'm delivered.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
I don't think anybody's going to serve them at this hour.
I don't think anybody's making cheeseburgers at this hour.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
Maybe on National Cheeseburger Day they do.
Speaker 3 (52:02):
Maybe. Maybe if we had real if we had real
fans that really cared abous, somebody find it.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
So you are a person that has a girl's night
every month, right, or a girl? Yeah? Yeah, Okay, that's
a thing. It's a big thing for a lot of people.
Almost eighty percent of women agree that a girl's nights
are vital to helping them feel recharged. Eighty percent listen
to this. Eighty percent say wine is the drink of
(52:33):
choice for a girl's night that is more than double
any other beverage. Yeah, so when it's a girl's night,
chances are well wine is being served. Eighty five percent
say they open a bottle within sixteen minutes of starting
their girls night.
Speaker 3 (52:53):
So they're talking about having it at somebody's house. They
must be talking, you know, not at a restaurant. A
lot of people do it at their home, yeah, so
that they can really get loud.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
I have some golf friends, not so much this year,
but in years past where they would be we'd be
you know guys, and they'd say, well, you know, it's
my wife's girls night, so I'm I'm good here until
winter and then you know, they go home and then
the you know, crowd disperses and then everybody's happy. Yeah,
(53:24):
it's playing golf and the girls have their their gathering.
That's kind of a thing. As for food, a third
prefer the classic charchoodery cheese, crackers, and cold cuts okay
other favorite. Other popular picks include sliders, wings, chips, and
(53:46):
walk along with sweet treats like cookies and cupcakes.
Speaker 3 (53:50):
Say wings for girls night. That's what I've never ever
served my girlfriend's wings ever. That will never happen. We
usually go out, but if we are home, I would
probably do more like a caprazy salad, you know, the
tomatoes mazzarella basil type thing, or my signature pasta salad,
(54:11):
which nobody knew was my signature dish until like eight
years ago when.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
I proclaimed it.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
So I've been making it my mom, my mom and
Jack knew. They loved it. It was a recipe I had
from years ago, and so we had a shower for
my friend Heather's daughter, and I made it so it
was supposed to be from all over the world to
mine was Italian and it was this pasta's tomato basil.
It's all fresh, really fresh stuff. And everybody loved it.
(54:39):
And I said, well, this is my signature dish. And
they all looked at me and said, no, we've known
you for twenty years, No, this is not. And I said,
I promise you in other circles, you ask my mom,
this is my dish, this is you know, And they
were just looking at me. They said, well, now it
will be your signature dish. Now we will allow that,
but not now.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
Not No, it's been acknowledged.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Yes, yes, but I would do more like pasta sala.
And I don't know if i'd serve wings to girls.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
That's what it says on here.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
Maybe guacs and guak and chips, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
And they say women need They use the word need
need a girl's night every twenty two days.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Sure, so.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
Once a month that's not enough. They'll squeeze another one
in there somewhere, and sixty two percent of women say
they even choose a girls' night over a romantic dinner
with their partner. Oh, mainly for the conversation. Yeah, you know,
the girls. They'll all talk about the stuff. You know,
they talk about boys stuff, and there are any boys
(55:42):
to hear it.
Speaker 3 (55:43):
I think girls we solve the problems of the world.
We talk about our feelings, we talk about stuff, and
usually of the four of us, there's somebody who's bringing
a thing, like an issue to the table. Sometimes it's
just everybody chatting, but most times there's a major incident
that we all kind of discuss and help, you know, help,
(56:04):
but solve it. I know boys don't do the same thing.
Boys don't talk about issues. No, no, you don't have
a guy's night and be like, man, Carol is really
bumming me out. There's just I want to be intimate
with her, and I just feel it's the soul. I
don't know if it's something I did or And then the.
Speaker 2 (56:22):
Other he talks like that he's got bigger problems.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
And then his buddy goes, man, I feel youa, I
feel you, well, what do you what kind of vibe
is she giving off like look insideway, How have you
been acting lately? Man, I hope that never happened.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
I don't think it happens. I haven't been any in
any of those circles. The last story here, this is
this is interesting to me. They say one in eight
people have never cried tears of joy.
Speaker 3 (56:56):
That is sad.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
This is a you know, over ten thousand adults pulled
on this and they say they have never cried tears
of joy. If you look at just men, it jumps
to one in six.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
That's too bad.
Speaker 2 (57:12):
Yeah, it doesn't seem I can't believe. I mean, I
guess it depends on the guy's personality. But I'm picturing
maybe a single guy that doesn't have a sports team.
Maybe he just doesn't have or that's what I'm saying.
Single guy, you know, not attached and has no connection
to a dramatic sports moment or something. No tiers of joy.
Speaker 3 (57:36):
Ever, Yeah, I don't know what you're where, you're living,
what you're doing.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
Seventeen percent of men and eight percent of women claim
they have never teared up from an overwhelming sense of
joy or happiness. On the other end of the spectrum,
a quarter of us are big happy criers. Nineteen percent
of men and twenty nine percent of women say it
happens a lot.
Speaker 3 (58:00):
Hmmm.
Speaker 2 (58:01):
Sometimes it's just a movie. Sometimes it's a great sports moment.
Sometimes a lot of a lot of kids stuff. Yeah,
a lot of you know, phone conversations with the kids,
or even even like a tech Sometimes it's like, oh
my gosh, that's pretty, that's very nice.
Speaker 3 (58:16):
I think my last tears of joy was when I
got all my grandkids together. Yeah, for the first time ever.
It was that was that was like overwhelming even talking
about it, I was like, because the relief of all
of them in the same room, they all got along
and after years of having to keep the family separate,
and it just was like that that felt that felt good. Yeah,
(58:40):
well that's that's said that people don't have that. You
have tears of I would like to have some tiers
of joy over jackpot. I would like to cry with
the nice person with the iPad who comes over and says, Okay,
did you want cash? Are you going to take taxes out?
Can I have your I D please we cry together.
Speaker 4 (58:59):
I see. See.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
That's one thing I don't know. I've never won anything
that would make me that that doesn't do it for me.
I mean, a movie has a better chance of doing
that for me than even though but I've never won.
If I want one hundred thousand dollars need cry, I
would be pretty happy. But I don't know that that
would like, yeah, give me the tears of joy. It's
(59:24):
weird how that is.
Speaker 3 (59:25):
Well, when I was over on the West Side and
I won all that money and I was with my friend,
I was buzzed, though you know, usually i'm stone sober gambling,
but this time I was. I didn't even realize what
I had done. And then I'm like, oh my god,
I think I just won that. We were laughing and
kind of half crying through the whole thing, and they're
paying me out, and I'm so that felt like that.
(59:48):
But I'm trying to think when I was just alone
in the middle of the day when I hit my
biggest one, I don't think I cry. I think I
was just like, I can't believe this is happening. It's
a weird thing. You're chasing it and then it happens
to you, and then you don't know how to act.
You think you're gonna know how to act, but then
you look around. There was a girl the other like
(01:00:11):
a month ago, and she won a bunch of money
and she was so happy and you could tell that
she needed it that she she was like crying and
she's like, oh my god, we have this going on
and this is gonna solve that. I can't believe this
is happening. And I was it might be. She goes,
my god, she's gonna be able to fix.
Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
Her house up.
Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
This is so great. As I'm losing my money trying
to just be happy for her.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
But the casino's going to make that back as they gather.
Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
Yeah, they're kidding. That's right, that's right. Well check the
text line. So once again, Mary Hill Wednesday, and oh,
for Jesus, is I need to add the men's voice
to my list of repertoire things I do? The imitation Virgina,
my men's voice. Oh, add it to the list. Yesterday
(01:01:05):
I added, yesterday I added did I do that? It's
all there, it's solid on there.
Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
So Mary Hill five to seven Wednesday, you guys, that
is our anniversary party. We would love to have you
be there. And what is this? Oh this is from yesterday?
Never mind? Never mind?
Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
I got logged out of the text machine.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
Oh no, killer Burger in the Valleys.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Yeah, I just saw that. I haven't heard of that place.
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
Yeah, let's see, Brucheese isn't far from Oh Bruchies has
a smash burger. Huh alright, very good, very good. We've
answered those questions. Oh, who is the author of The Housemaid?
Do you know?
Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Yes, it's a woman. Oh remember her name? I still
have the book. The book is still at my daughter
while loaned it to me. And that was one that
was during my reading phase and I read it. It was
really liked it, sitting on sitting right on the coffee
table in the living room.
Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
You have to look it up. I think you have it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
Okay, So it was a huge bestseller. So if you
look it up, you'll find it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
John was saying that I am in she laboration mode.
She laboration to over explain a topic. I don't know
what topic I was over explaining, but she laborated like elaboration,
but she laboration. Got it. Oh okay, I don't know
(01:02:45):
what I was talking about.
Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
It.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
That's a good one. That's like sam'splaining. Oh oh yeah,
Jen can finally make it. Oh to the auction excellent,
very good.
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):

Gary said he's not a morning person. I doubt he's up.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
All right, we're gonna play. It's gonna be Scott that
is gonna play. We're waiting for him to check in
with us.
Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
Oh, I have to tell him. Sorry what no, I
told him he could play. I just have to tell
him to call Okay, that's all. I'm sorry. I was
focusing on uploading a video.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Oh the cringe video.
Speaker 3 (01:05:21):
It's up there now. It's up there a little Okay.
I to him to call now on the YouTube. It's
on the YouTube. It is on the YouTube. Yes, it
is up on the YouTube.
Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
Mm hmmm, all right, Scott's ready to play you there, Scott.
Speaker 11 (01:05:37):
I am here. How are we doing this morning?
Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
We are good? Are you in the car?
Speaker 11 (01:05:42):
I am. I am in the car going right by
the new Bridgeline High School. Oh yeah, I would have
I would have gone to had been up when I
lived over here in the Spokane Valley.
Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
Okay, well that is a beautiful school. Yes, that's spectacular. Yeah,
they did that one right. That's all the pretty ye
on Liberty Lakes, and they got to make sure it
looks good.
Speaker 11 (01:06:07):
Well. And I even missed the brand new Central Valley
High School when I was in the old building. I
think about five years after I left there, they ripped
down the old CV and built a brand new Center
Valley High School there too, So okay, I'm just missing
out of all the new stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Well, some of the kids get kind of screwed there
there for construction, I know, like for North Central it
was under construction for years. So some people their whole
high school life was that, which kind of stays.
Speaker 11 (01:06:35):
But well, at least it was a COVID that I
feel back for my kids that did have to go
through that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
Yeah, two of them. My my middle daughter, she graduated
college COVID, so you know, graduation online. And then my
son's high school graduation was the drive through graduation. It
was like, ah, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
I forgot that Samantha was graduating at the same time that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
Oh yeah, anyway, well we're past all that. Oh yeah,
and hopefully we've learned. Anyway, Scott, you have played before.
Speaker 11 (01:07:13):
Right, only about ten times? I think over the years.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
About ten times. Okay, well, we'll see how it goes
this time. Generally speaking, how do you do win more
or lose more?
Speaker 11 (01:07:27):
Well, I can have one victory chopped up on my
uh my plaque, but I make it. Yeah your okay,
all right, I have Yeah, we've tied several times, but
I've had to bow too many times, Dave.
Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Okay, we'll see what happens. I just noticed that Molly's
pulled out a five dollar.
Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
Bill, Chris, Chris five dollar bill, and there's one question
on here that if either of you get it, you
will get this five dollars. Now, if you both get it.
I'll have to hand you one and mail one to Scott. Okay,
that's how confident I am that it's you won't get it, but.
Speaker 11 (01:08:08):
Maybe my five dollar bill would be good.
Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
Well, we'll see, we'll see. I have it. I have
it labeled so I can't change my mind on it,
and so I'm going to put it right there.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
Okay, it's right there. Tough for craps.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Dave's thinking. That's man, five dollars.
Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
Take that a.
Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
Third of a burger. All right, Scott, I'm gonna leave
the studio, walk out now, Mollie will take over. She
has rules. There's very important rules of the game, yes,
as we learned yesterday. And then I'll return to UH
to play you.
Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
Good luck, right, Scott? What is your favorite topic of trivia?
Speaker 11 (01:08:46):
Well, we got to do sports. You know that's You're
You're probably gonna disappoint me and say there's not any
sports questions.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
There are not any sports. Well one is sort of
sports related. Sorry.
Speaker 11 (01:08:57):
Oh well all.
Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
Right, well Scott, are are you ready to throw down
on the showdown?
Speaker 11 (01:09:02):
Well, let's throw it down special?
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
Okay, oh special, Okay, here we go. What was Captain
Stubing's first name? On the TV show The Love Vote.
Speaker 11 (01:09:13):
Dam Uh, it's got to be Captain of course.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
What university is home to the fighting Irish?
Speaker 11 (01:09:21):
Another name?
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
What US president put a twinkie in the country's millennium
time capsule?
Speaker 11 (01:09:29):
Oh boy? Uh? Probably would have been Would that have
been Clinton?
Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
Maybe? Here we go. What is the only US state
with one syllable name?
Speaker 11 (01:09:42):
Oh, I'm gonna let's just say Ramon.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
I don't know one syllable Scott.
Speaker 11 (01:09:55):
Yeah, I'm playing. I'm trying to go through all them.
Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
If you've think of it. If you think of it,
then let me know. Okay, dispense or find water? What
does a dowser do?
Speaker 11 (01:10:09):
I would say it finds water?
Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
All right. The delicacy known as foi gas traditionally comes
from what part of a duck or goose?
Speaker 11 (01:10:20):
I'm just gonna say, bless you?
Speaker 4 (01:10:21):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
Okay? Uh? The material nylon is named after which two cities?
Speaker 11 (01:10:35):
Man, these questions. You're doing some hard askery here.
Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
I know, all right, you're saying you don't know that one. Okay,
all right. Captain Crunch's flagship is named for what fish?
It's a little teeny fish, a baby fish.
Speaker 11 (01:10:54):
Like a nemo fish. Maybe I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
What is the Napa Valley best known for wine? And
the Himalayas are that you know, wine is good. The
Himalayas are located on which continent?
Speaker 11 (01:11:08):
Uh, Europe?
Speaker 3 (01:11:13):
All right, there we go. All right, Dave's going to
come back in and we'll see how he does. Hey,
everybody's texting in the one question and don't look at
the text line when you sit down. No, he never does,
he never does. He's he's back. Scott has of course
(01:11:35):
made it through all ten because that's how we do.
It's a kindler chinder, gentler version of the show down now, mm.
Speaker 11 (01:11:41):
Hmm, that is what we do.
Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
Absolutely, Hi feeling Scott.
Speaker 11 (01:11:46):
Oh, i'd love to say, you know, some bad assery happened?
Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Was he accused me?
Speaker 3 (01:11:54):
He accused me of hard assery? Halfway three goes, this
is hard assery you're doing here?
Speaker 11 (01:11:59):
We had all Is that appropriate language or what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Sure?
Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
When I say there's no cussing, that I mean we're
talking about the worst of the words.
Speaker 12 (01:12:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12:10):
Yeah, But like you know, we.
Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
Could say hard, hard ursery, hard buttery.
Speaker 11 (01:12:18):
You know, I do like the bad assery for sure.
Oh shoot, I mean I'm a truck or farmer. So
I mean I speak more truck or farmer?
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Yeah, I do too often?
Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
Mike Sure, Oh yeah, all right, my turn to play.
I get ten questions. Here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
What was Captain Stubing's first name on the TV show
The Love Boats?
Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
Oh, gosh, Roger mhm?
Speaker 5 (01:12:43):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
What university is home to the fighting Irish?
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
Notre Dame?
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
What US president put a twinkie in the country's millennium
time capsule?
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Uh? Bill Clinton?
Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Which is the only US state with a one syllable?
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
Maine?
Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
Dispense or find water? What does a dowser do?
Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
Uh? It is a distiller? What did you say?
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
What does it? Does it dispense or find water?
Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Uh dispenses?
Speaker 6 (01:13:16):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
The delicacy known as foi gua traditionally comes from what
part of a duck or a goose?
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
The uh? Wing?
Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
What material? The material? Nylon is named after which two cities?
Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
Oh, London and.
Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
I don't know Nylon?
Speaker 4 (01:13:46):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Captain Crunch's flagship is named for what fish? It's a
tiny little baby fish?
Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
Ah, the guppy?
Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
What is napavell best known for wine? And the Himalayas
are located on which continent Asia nice, and you are
going to get two dollars and fifty cents.
Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
Oh, we both got it. We both got it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
No, you got half of it. It was the it
was the Nylon one. And I thought you were going
to get it because you said London, and that's why
I said Nylon. It's New York and London. You are
so close to getting the whole five dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:14:30):
Yes, I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
That's a big good. Okay, let's see.
Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Hang on, she's adding them up, adding them up. Special.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Oh yeah, yeah, he told me, I said he. I said,
are you ready to show down? And he said, I'm
a throw down special? Oh good, yeah he did.
Speaker 13 (01:14:56):
So.
Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
I have a final score here. Dave went six to four,
or really six and a half before. Okay, okay, the
crowd can't be quiet now.
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
My god, I was waiting every time you would talk,
I would hit it again. Happy for sure?
Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
Yes, okay, Well, neither of you got Meryl stubing Captain Merrill.
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
I wouldn't have got that.
Speaker 3 (01:15:29):
That's sad that I know both of you got. Notre
Dame and Clinton. Very good. Clinton is the twinkie President Maine.
He couldn't come up with it. He guessed Vermont, and
then I gave him a hard time. I said, really, Scott,
Bermont and he said, I can't think of it, just
move on. Sorry, And then he got a dowser is
(01:15:52):
uh fines water, So Scott got that one.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
Oh that's right, that's the the wire thing.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
Is that what it is?
Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
Oh, actually I should have got that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
And then wha guah is liver It's it's liver pete. Oh,
it's fancy. We call it liver pete and they call
it phah. It goes on beef Wellington, on the top
of beef Wellington. It's good. And then technically you got
half of this it's New York and London for nylon.
But that was good. And then Dave got Guppy for
(01:16:23):
the fish, and then you both got Napa Valley for wine,
wine for Napa Valley, and then Dave got Asia for
the Himalayas. Okay, nice job, you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
A spirited round and Scott, you sounded great and I
liked that you were playing in the car so you
had your Bluetooth hooked up and you got the the
app running through the car. That's fantastic.
Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
Yes, yeah, Scott for.
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Playing the game.
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Congratulations from our friends in America. Credit Union piled sponsor
of Dave's Cash Showtown in America.
Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
Credit Union Sure NAPA is the home of wine. N
America is the home of credit unions. In fact, not
a lot of people know this, but the Northwest most
famous for credit unions, and in America specifically, a lot
of people say, oh, they're famous for apples. Oh, they're
famous for trees, Oh, lakes and rivers, close to nature,
(01:17:12):
close to whatever, blah blah blah. No, the real story
is it's Numerica in America is the most important export
that we have in the Pacificwest. Not a lot of
people know that, but it's very important that everyone should
know it. America credit Union, quite frankly, the most important
credit union.
Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
And five free cups of Judge spoken America. Oh my god, Oh,
I'm going to give you your money if you stop.
I actually don't have change, so I'm gonna give you
three dollars. Oh, you're gonna win three whole dollars. That
the three dollars and the McDonald's person gave me back
and they're in terrible condition, but you are going to
have three.
Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
Whole dollars it's a good day for me.
Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
Look at that. That'll buy you a couple of diep folks,
won't it.
Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
Yep?
Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
This, look at this. It's sad though. This beautiful five.
I mean, that's a good looking five. Now you got
three crappy ones. Those are not as pretty, but still
still goes in your glove box.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
There or whatever, more than I had when we started
the segments.
Speaker 3 (01:18:08):
True, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
All right, Scott, you were wonderful. Text in your address
and Molly will set you up with the Dutch bros.
Speaker 11 (01:18:17):
Okay, you got it. Thank you very much, guys, have
a great day.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Thank you for listening. All right, there goes Scott. Next
time we play the Showdown will be tomorrow. Tomorrow's the
final round of the week. We'll play tomorrow. That's going
to be an eight o'clock start for the Showdown on
tomorrow's program Entertainment News. We will get into that. No,
Ken's coming in right.
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
Yes, he'll be here early. Yes, he's going to be early.
Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
I'm sure you heard the news, Jimmy Kimmel.
Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
What No, I heard nothing. He's out how what what
do you mean You're going to hurt yourself?
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
I know, I just you're doing a lot of my arm.
Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
He's doing a lot of.
Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
What yeah he Uh. The ABC took him off the air, Yeah, Paul,
it a suspension, but but they say off the air indefinitely.
He made some comments about the president. Well it was
about the the you know, Charlie.
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
Kirk Kimmel may have gone.
Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
And here's why I think everyy can do their own speculation,
but this may be a way for them to just say,
you're just the ratings have been terrible. I mean, he
was Late Night in general is not doing well and
he was the worst of the three of the three
and Colbert already was canceled and.
Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
Then and his ratings were the best.
Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
The best of that, right.
Speaker 4 (01:19:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Yeah, So anyway, so that's one of the one of
the stories. And then we were talking about this, the
the new Margot Robbie Colin Farrell movie. Yeah, he admits
he was turned on, yes by co star marg I.
Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
Told you the story when we were talking to him. Yeah,
and he said did he like that? Did he she
like the kisses? And he said wolf from from your
mouth to God's Here? And then he said, I kept
missing up. We had to do a lot of takes
because he liked Kissinger.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
She's one of those people that she's very pretty obviously. Yeah,
but then when because she's such a great actress too,
that it just adds to her. She's great in everything.
She's I've never seen her in a bad role, kind
of like we were talking about Robert Redford. Yeah, make
any bad movies, Margot. Robbie's been very good about selecting. Yeah,
(01:20:28):
and she's good. So anyway, there's that nice. Okay, we'll
get to those stories in the entertainment news. Ken's going
to join us here in just a bit as well,
and then Sam our friend Sam from downstairs KHQ. Sam.
He's going to be bringing up Bob and Linda and
they are part of the Spokane Parasports. Yep.
Speaker 3 (01:20:48):
Yeah, that'd be nice to chat with them, see what's
going on with them. I know they're sending some athletes
and that's kind of what we're talking about. They're sending
him to a major competition. So that's Yeah. Their fundraiser
I think is anuary. It's ways away. But then this
is like, this is pretty cool. Yeah, we have a
lot of athletes from our area.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Best of the best yep. Yeah, so we'll get to
all that and more as we continue. The David Molly
Show is live from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 7 (01:21:18):
Winning a new GMC canyon at Northern Quest is not

and suden requests to help move a couch really quick.
But something tells us you'll get over it. It's a
Northern Quest one hundred and sixty thousand dollars Grander Canyon giveaway.
Play daily for your shot at a new GMC canyon
(01:21:41):
or forty five brand in cash. The Grander Canyon Giveaway
only at Northern Quest.
Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
Entertainment News brought to you by Golden Rule Break.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Ready for Entertainment News.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
Yes, I just got a text from our friend Ken
Hopkins and he says, just out here, big group in
front of me.
Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
I sure, yeah, I wonder if that's our guest for
eight o'clock.
Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
See, we solve all the problems that we do on
the air. We're an open book.
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
It's we're very transparent and if someone call us unprofessional,
some would say can't they keep things separated and discuss
things off the air? No answers, No, we're all family.
You need to know what's happening with us? Sometimes you
have a better solution. Sometimes we'll present a problem. Somebody
will say, well, if there's a big group, why don't
you just tell Ken to come in with the group.
Some text you will say that, well, I thought of
(01:22:34):
it first. I'm already solving who's the smart one?
Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
Now? Me? You?
Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
The big entertainment news in case you missed it, yesterday,
Jimmy Kimmel Live is off the air indefinitely because of
what Kimmel said about Charlie Kirk. That was a show
that was not last night, but the night before. So
this all happened pretty quick. So he makes the makes
the calm and I'm not going to repeat his comments,
(01:23:01):
but he makes the comments and then less than a
day later it all all.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
But the comments were more about the reaction to the
and the It wasn't about Charlie Kirk himself.
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Based on yes, Yes, fair, Yeah. ABC's decision to pull
kim O Kimmel was reportedly based on pressures from affiliates
next Star, which is a company that owns more than
two hundred stations nationwide, uh and they have over two
dozen ABC affiliates. They told the network that it was
(01:23:39):
preempting the show, and then a bunch of other stations
decided to do it, and then ABC just said okay, whatever.
And what I what I said before the break is
I think this is an easy way out for ABC.
I mean, obviously it's ugly that, you know, comments are
made and they get rid of the guy. But he
(01:24:00):
had a long term contract and there's no ratings there.
Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
Right well, based on what you what, I what it is,
it doesn't seem it seems like he has done worse
than that. So I'm believing that this is more of
a let's just get rid of them, because I mean,
he's gone straight at people. Oh yeah, pretty pretty outspoken,
so it doesn't seem like left Yeah yeah, So well
(01:24:27):
I feel bad for all the people who work with him.
Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
It sucks, yes, And it's kind of a shrinking pot
because Colbert is still on the air. His he you know,
they when they made his announcement, it was like, okay,
you're going to be done May something. So he still
has another what nine months?
Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
I guess I predicate they're going to reverse that and
they're going to have him stay. I do based on
this surge, how much do you want to bet twenty dollars.
I think when may. I think before that happens, they're
going to say they've reconsidered if Colbert wants to do it.
I think they're going to change their mind. He may
be the only one left, but I think that that
I think that things are gonna He just want an Emmy.
(01:25:07):
The crowd obviously is with them. Numbers will shoot up
now that Kimmel's gone, they'll shoot up even more. That's
my feeling. I think there's a swell behind him. I
think he's getting kind of like what we got when
when you know you're doing everything you're supposed to do
and then they let you go. The audience does not
understand that. You know they're going to go. Wait, you're
(01:25:30):
at the top of what they asked you to do.
They asked you to beat everybody else in Night Late Night,
be the number one, and you did that, and now
it can't be monetized. So that's a problem. So to
the person who's just watching, they're saying, well, what's wrong
with you? Why can't you monetize them? What's wrong with you?
So anyway, I predict he will be back, especially if
(01:25:51):
Kimmel is permanently gone, and then they'll just have to
decide do they have a show that in there or
do they just do something different and just late Night
on ABC go away all together? Yeah, and then you
got Fallon.
Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
And they were kind of the last. ABC was kind
of the last to jump in that boat. There was
always NBC because they had the Tonight Show that and
that were huge ratings over the years. And then CBS
when they got Letterman, that was their introduction into late
night right and then AB season, well we got to
have something. And then then Kimmel came along and.
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
He never really he's the only one who's ever done that.
And late Night on ABC.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
ABC oh interesting because they used to have Nightline, and
Nightline actually did very well. You know, it was a
news show and it was that started during the This
goes all the way back to the early eighties. That
started with the when we had hostages in Iran and
so they would have this extra half hour news after
(01:26:50):
the local news, and then that became Nightline and it
stayed on the air. That was Ted Koppele. Remember he
called me a terrible name on the air. Let me
call you called me an a hole, But he didn't
say hey, he used to. So you're the blank blank
who's been calling people and then was during the Tom
broke out days. So anyway, well we'll see what we'll see.
(01:27:12):
It's it's changing times.
Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
Yeah, well on a happier opens, yes, Colin Ferrell.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Yeah, and you you had secret information on this was
that it was over a year ago, wasn't it.
Speaker 3 (01:27:27):
It was a long time ago.
Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
Must have made that movie a long time ago.
Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
I think they did.
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
Colin Ferrell and Margot Robbie are in a new movie
called A Big, A Big, Bold, Beautiful Journey. The movie
opens tomorrow. Uh, and he says that she turned him on.
Oh yeah. During a joint appearance Margot Robbie was on
(01:27:52):
The Late Night Show with Seth Myers, Colin says, I
met a lot of people over the years that I
worked with, and a lot of people that work with Margo,
and they all, to a man and woman, said how
extraordinary she was. She is, which is always a turn
on for me, straight up.
Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
He added that her magnetic personality was evident from the
moment he met her. And I did see the trailer
for that.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
Does it look good?
Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
It looks pretty good? Yeah, yeah, yeah, And I don't know.
It must have been based on a book at some point.
I hadn't heard heard the story. It's it's kind of
a throwback, you know. They get to wander back in
time together. And so he looks great. He's a good
looking guy. Yeah, and she looks great.
Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
Yeah. So pretty people doing stuff to each other.
Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
Yeah, that she'ld be good.
Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
That's good. I liked him, he was and I couldn't
really talk about it a whole lot. When I went
to that thing. It was that secret. Well it wasn't secret,
but it was the Ramones. They were having a party
and my uncle was in deducing pulp fiction. They were
watching pulp fiction up on a screen. But we got
to meet Billy Idol and Tommy Lee and Colin Ferrell
(01:29:07):
and Rosanna our cat was there, and there were some
other folks there and we, I mean we were sitting
and talking and Colin Ferrell was right in front of us,
and Rosanna Kat was sitting with us because we were
in the audience, and he turned around and he was
with our friend who we know, Michael. They're best friends.
He's the guy who did the makeup for the penguin.
(01:29:28):
So they became best friends, and my mom and I
were like, can we And his sister was with him,
and so we tapped his sister on said can we
meet Colin?
Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
She said yeah, of course, of course, and oh you're
John's family.
Speaker 5 (01:29:41):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
And he's hugging us and we're like, I we're such dorks.
He was so sweet and he said my mom was magical. Oh,
your mom, she's magical.
Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
I said, yes, here's an Irish accent. Yes, yes, yes, anyway,
I hope the movie does well.
Speaker 4 (01:29:56):
He doo.
Speaker 2 (01:29:58):
I don't think that's one I'll see in the theater.
Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
It's a good Sunday afternoon, well not Sunday afternoon.
Speaker 2 (01:30:05):
Not during most season, all right, maybe March Sunday in March, Yes,
maybe that's when I watch it. And then just kind
of an interesting thing here, franchise is that Hollywood hasn't
touched in over twenty years.
Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
The knock on Hollywood is it's like it's all remakes,
it's reboots, its sequels, it's all this stuff, and all
we're gonna, you know, we're adding on to this movie
trilogy or whatever. Well, these are the ones that haven't
been touched in twenty years. You could look at it
two ways. Maybe they're sacred, no one wants.
Speaker 3 (01:30:34):
To do it, or nobody cares about them.
Speaker 2 (01:30:36):
Or that's kind of like. Well, these were all hits.
There are times coming someone's gonna grab on to it.
One of them. They mentioned the Airport movies. Yeah, there
were three of those.
Speaker 3 (01:30:49):
Oh, we need a new airport movie.
Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
From nineteen seventy to nineteen seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
Dreamliner Disaster.
Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
Oh, that's what I should start writing. Oh my god,
that's gonna be my next project. Okay, yes, I'll have
a good disaster film.
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
The Dirty Harry movies. Okay, okay, I probably need someone
else other than clinics. Well, yes, he's you know up there,
the police Academy movies that I believe. There were eight
of those, so.
Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
That's not Oh the Naked Gun was the different that's
not least academy.
Speaker 4 (01:31:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
I don't think we need the lethal weapon movies. Oh yeah,
remember this is old school. I don't even know if
you Billy Jack remember the Billy Jack movies. No, late
sixties into the early seventies.
Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
I don't remember that crocodile Dundee his son could pick
up where he left. Oh no, that's I'm thinking of
a big of Steve Irwin, the Real Crowditu.
Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
Smoky in the Bandit. Back to the Future, Yeah, back
to the that'd be a fun one to bring back
the Back to the Future show. The play is coming
to Best of Broadway. Oh really, yeah, I've found out
about that.
Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
That's fun.
Speaker 2 (01:32:02):
Godfather movies, don't you dare and just leave them where
they were, don't mess give them sitting there. And then Jaws.
Imagine what they could do with Jaws. Now they could
have real I mean the shark. You know they when
they made the shark for the original one, they thought,
how is this going to work. It's kind of a
clunky thing made out of foam, and we got, you know,
(01:32:24):
some kind of robot thing in it kept going bad
in the salt water and all that kind of stuff.
It was kind of a mess. Well now just think
of that, with the CGI and all the stuff, they
could make a really good, scary looking shark.
Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
You want another plot, hear me out?
Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
Okay, this is it.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Remember the shark Whisper Girl. Oh yeah, they have a
rogue shark. They have an evil shark and he's ruining
everybody's vacations all over Hawaii, just destroying it all. And
they finally bring her in because she's the only one.
They're not going to blow it up because then you
got protesters, don't kill sharks, don't kill sharks. And then
you have people on the other side, we want to swim,
we want to swim. And then she's there, she's getting
(01:33:00):
phone calls and they have her on CNN. Do you
think you can talk the fish down? I don't know.
I've never talked to fish down. That's that angry. And
they bring her in because it's our last chance. And
in the end you find out like the shark had
a thorn in its in its skill the whole time,
and so she removes it and then he's like thank you,
and he swims off.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
She has done that. She has There's been sharks that
have been that have caught in their stuff. And she
gets up to.
Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
The sharks and yep, I know, but that's what I'm saying.
It's the old what was the you know with the
lion and the lion and the the hair or whatever, No,
who is it that that that takes the thorn out
of their paw. It's the same thing. That's why the
shark was so angry and eating everybody. It was just mad.
It wasn't even eating people, She's just biting them and
letting them go. You have a film here, folks, mark
(01:33:50):
my words. It shall be. I predicted the whole Maverick
thing I had that. I had that pretty down.
Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
And then a couple of the notes Bill Belichick's girlfriend.
Oh boy, she was reportedly in talks to be on
Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 3 (01:34:08):
Oh, that would be a great get.
Speaker 2 (01:34:09):
But she wanted too much and wanted more control.
Speaker 3 (01:34:14):
Lady, how people are you to say?
Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
That's right?
Speaker 3 (01:34:17):
You're Bill Belichick's girlfriend. That is who you are. That's
all you are so far. Maybe you become more, but
I mean, you know, if other people aren't going to
ask for that's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
And then the last thing, real quick, here's a fun fact.
I almost put this in our fun fact segment. SNL
on YouTube reaches more Americans than any other YouTube channel.
Oh believe that, And it's a huge number. It is.
(01:34:52):
SNL reaches thirty eight point six million unique people via YouTube.
That's more than any other channel.
Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
Oh good.
Speaker 2 (01:35:03):
Usually the top ten is traditional media outlets, including ABC News,
NBC News, CNN, ESPN, Forbes the NFL channels on their
Netflix is on there, but the number one is SNL.
Speaker 3 (01:35:18):
Wow. I believe that though, because you go and you
you know, you can watch the bits and stuff. All right, Well,
that's all right. And speaking of YouTube, the video is up.
Oh he hasn't had very many views yet, and I
don't see any reviews on it. I mean, like anybody,
there's twelve views, one comment.
Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
Oh, what's the comment?
Speaker 3 (01:35:39):
Oh, let's see. Let's oh, new notifications will show up here.
Why isn't it show me the comment?
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
Stand by, let's see what they're saying about your early acting.
Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
It's most cringey because he's touching you. Lol. Wow, he
is dramatic. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
We're gonna take a break. And then whomen were turn
Oh boy, we got we got a studio full coming in.
Oh yeah, a lot of heat coming in. All right,
we'll get to that when we return. The David Molly
Show is Live from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 1 (01:36:18):
We now return to The Dave and Molly Show, Live
from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 2 (01:36:24):
Hey, just like that, We're back and we have a
studio full of people. It's very exciting. So many First
of all, We're going to welcome our friend Sam Adams
because you you you are the connector for our guests.
Speaker 5 (01:36:36):
I'm like a conduit, is what I would say.
Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 13 (01:36:40):
So I'm a news anchor by day h slash morning
I guess co host for for portions of a day
that that see to go longer than they probably should.
Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (01:36:51):
And then also I'm with a Parasports Spokane. I'm a
board member for Para Sports Spokane and.
Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
Proud to tell you I'm a.
Speaker 13 (01:36:59):
Comc for pairing with Paris Sport, which we do every
January February every year, which is a big fundraiser to
fund these athletes to send them not only at events
around the Northwest, but across the country and around the
world for the biggest events you can possibly imagine.
Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
We just found out off the air they're headed to
New Delhi, India.
Speaker 13 (01:37:20):
Hello yeah h I mean that's that's a big, big flight.
And so when we heard about this, when we're talking
about our athletes and we have two of them in today,
I thought they need to meet Dave and Molly and
tell the world about what they're doing because they cannot
get enough attention. This is a big, big, event that
(01:37:40):
our friends will be doing. Can I introduce you here?
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
Yes?
Speaker 13 (01:37:42):
Yes, okay, So we have Lindy, I mean, and I'm
gonna use first names and last name, so everyby home.
This is, by the way, Lindy and Bob. Real quick,
I'm doing a thing that I do on the show
a lot, and it's called Sam splaining. So this is
where you'll see. You'll see as I go, oh, they're
seeing it now, they're seeing it right now. It's very obvious.
I am a police to introduce Lindy marcuson. I know
(01:38:06):
where's Lindy? And we have Bob hunt with us.
Speaker 2 (01:38:09):
Bob, I Sam.
Speaker 13 (01:38:10):
Hi, We'll get him lean into that microphone. And so
they're in two different events several in fact, both of
them have qualified for for two world events that they
qualified through in Eugene, Oregon. And and by the way,
you know Tracktown, USA.
Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
You've heard of Eugene, right.
Speaker 13 (01:38:31):
He's seen he's marveling the uh the Sam splaining right now, Tracktown, USA.
If you don't know what it is, it's it's it's
the home of track and field, quite literally, I mean,
this is where who was it?
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
Well, you're nodding right now. Pre Fonte.
Speaker 13 (01:38:42):
Okay, fine, I guess I am Sam's plaining so pre
as he's knowing there and uh. And so for the
first time ever, Lindy, you were telling about me about
this as we were going in that for the first
time ever we had the USA Track and Field Championships
here and the first time a joint event.
Speaker 5 (01:39:01):
Can you tell me a little bit about that.
Speaker 9 (01:39:02):
Yeah, for the first time ever they joined able bodied
and para together under one event, and it was a huge,
huge step.
Speaker 13 (01:39:13):
For para athletics, absolutely because it's always been because there's
there's the Paralympics, right, which happened every four years, and
it will be you'll have the Olympics that held.
Speaker 5 (01:39:24):
I don't know ten days, I don't know how long ago.
Speaker 13 (01:39:26):
It seems to last forever because we've run them on
KHQ and then after that we have the Paralympics after
and now USA Track and Field together with parasports together
on the same stage at the same time. That must
have you were you were you awestruck when you were
meeting these athletes.
Speaker 6 (01:39:44):
Oh gosh, Yeah, it was just so cool just to
see able body athletes intertwined with us, talking to us,
saying hi, just bringing us together as we are one.
So that was a super cool part about that for
me at least. And then on the track practicing with
them high fives, you know, like good luck and just
(01:40:05):
we are one of them is the best feeling.
Speaker 2 (01:40:08):
Yeah, that's super cool. And then tell everybody you guys
are going this is the world competition in New Delhi, India,
World Championships, okay, and so, and tell everybody what events
you guys are in.
Speaker 9 (01:40:21):
So I will be doing the hundred meters and long.
Speaker 6 (01:40:24):
Job okay, and then I will be doing the one
meters and the four hundred meters.
Speaker 2 (01:40:30):
And four hundred me okay. And you will lap around okay,
and you're in wheelchair yes. And then Lindy you you
what your? You have one leg? What's your?
Speaker 9 (01:40:42):
I have four legs technically, but I run with a
running blade, running blade.
Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
Okay, that's blade. Yeah, I don't I don't know those
you know? So, and and it's everybody is uh you
obviously had you are obviously the fastest in the United
States then and that's how you get to go to
the world competition.
Speaker 9 (01:41:01):
So based off of the event we had in Eugene Nationals,
they take the top performances, and there was forty slots,
so Bob and I were the top in the top
forty athletes in the country in performances. Because Paris selection
is a little bit different than able bodied were able bodied.
Speaker 12 (01:41:19):
If you're top three, you go Para.
Speaker 9 (01:41:21):
You don't know who's on the team until everyone's done competing,
and they take the top performances because it's compared. Each
performance is compared to the A standard, which is the
third taken from third place in the world. So that's yeah,
So that's how it's a little bit different than able bodied.
You have to wait and see if you've made the team.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
How long have you been training.
Speaker 9 (01:41:45):
I've been doing track and field first a little over
six years.
Speaker 6 (01:41:48):
Six years, okay, and then I've been doing it since
you know, two thousand and eight. Well I started back
at ninety eight, but competitively two thousand and eight.
Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
So are there there's different kinds of competition. So you're
racing in your chair.
Speaker 6 (01:42:02):
Yes, I have a race share is about five and
a half feet long with three wheels, which different than
my day chair that you'd seen normally down the streets
or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:42:10):
Right, Well, we know from our friend Ken who's here
as well. We know about all of his different chairs
and then all the things that go alomb We we
got a real education when he had his accident, so
we've been kind of part of that world with Ken.
But he's got his day he's got his day chair. Yes, right,
they got a power chair. Do you have a power
chair chair for you?
Speaker 6 (01:42:30):
My coach won't let me know.
Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
Just in your free time.
Speaker 4 (01:42:34):
I tried.
Speaker 6 (01:42:35):
You know you're gonna get lazy. You're right, You're right?
Speaker 3 (01:42:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
Really?
Speaker 3 (01:42:43):
So yeah, and she's here, this is your coach, yes, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah,
so she's here, she's watching. What are you drinking? Does
that allowed to coffee? Okay? All as long as it's
on the older regimen. How how many hours do you
try each day or week? What's your schedule?
Speaker 6 (01:43:02):
So typically it's about hour and a half at the
most a day for US, I train between five to
six days a week during like probably in the summertime.
During the winter, it's definitely about four to five just
because it's off season. And then then we pick it
up towards when of the races are getting closer.
Speaker 2 (01:43:24):
So you're in the one hundred meter and the four
hundred meters, yes, how fast are you in the one
hundred meter?
Speaker 6 (01:43:29):
So I hit about nineteen point five miles an hour.
Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
In one hundred meters and one hundred meters, Oh my god,
it's like a raceourse. Yes, wow. And how about you?
What's your speed?
Speaker 12 (01:43:42):
I don't know, We've never clocked it.
Speaker 9 (01:43:44):
But I currently hold the America's record for and I'm
the only American that has gone below fifteen seconds for
women that only have one knee. So I run it
in fourteen that's yeah. So fourteen ninety eight is the
current America's record I hold gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:44:03):
Man, And so let me ask you this. Were you
born with this or was this later in life?
Speaker 12 (01:44:08):
This was later in life?
Speaker 3 (01:44:09):
Okay, so you had to adapt and get used to
all of this?
Speaker 4 (01:44:12):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
And how old were you?
Speaker 12 (01:44:13):
I was twenty one?
Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (01:44:15):
So that's can we ask what happened?
Speaker 9 (01:44:18):
I was in a car accident. I was hit by
four three fifty.
Speaker 2 (01:44:21):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
So how long between your accident recovery do you go
to this sort of thing? And were you a track
and field before?
Speaker 12 (01:44:31):
I was a gymnast before.
Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
So really, but so you were athletic?
Speaker 12 (01:44:34):
I was athletic, yes, very very athletic.
Speaker 9 (01:44:37):
Loved, loved moving, loved working out, so it was just
like a what is it going to look like now?
Speaker 5 (01:44:44):
Right?
Speaker 9 (01:44:44):
And so I had a lot of injuries and so
it took a long time to recover. So I walked
into a pair of sports spokanes strength and conditioning on
Tuesday nights about a year a year and a half
after my accident, and I just kind of was like,
this is what I want to do.
Speaker 12 (01:45:00):
I want to run.
Speaker 9 (01:45:00):
But I walked in on crutches, you know, because I
was having trouble with the prosthetic. And it was just like,
I this is what I want to do, and I
want to be the best I can be, and I'm
ready to put in the work. So you are, yeah, yeah,
come on the shoe. You just can't get rid of me.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
So and how about you, Bob, When did you start training?
When did you where's your athletic background come from?
Speaker 6 (01:45:26):
So Teresa, which is my coach, she was my occupational
therapist in my elementary school, okay, so she wow, yeah,
of okay, back in the nineties, no great days. She's like, well,
do you want to go fast? And I'm like yes,
(01:45:47):
cause I'm just zooming through the hallways in my day chair,
and I like, yes, I want to go fast. Of course
I want to go fast. And then I've got that
speed bug hit me and it's never gone away yet.
So but yep, so I was born in my disability
called cal regression, our sacredly genesis just meaning my spine,
I meansing half my spine, basically my lower half, so
(01:46:09):
nothing's connected to my pelvis.
Speaker 2 (01:46:11):
Okay, wow, you must have the strongest range ever, especially
for the first like fifty meters. I mean, if you're
getting up to nineteen miles an hour in a in
a I'm trying to do the math on this, the
one hundred meter, So the beginning of that, I mean,
that's incredible.
Speaker 6 (01:46:29):
Yeah, that's the hardest part is the very beginning.
Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
Yeah, yeah, because.
Speaker 6 (01:46:33):
That's where everyone's gone. And yeah, you guys to see
who has the quickest start.
Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
Yeah, and you are the best in the world, one
of the.
Speaker 6 (01:46:40):
Best, and one of the best getting there, getting there
for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:46:43):
When do you leave for New Delhi Monday? How many
of you are going?
Speaker 6 (01:46:50):
Just the two of you, So we have one other
athlete with us and Spokene and then Teresa is one
of the coaches for.
Speaker 3 (01:46:57):
She'll be there'll there.
Speaker 6 (01:47:00):
My mom, she's going Italian kids is here, Yeah, exactly,
gotta be good, yes, Sam.
Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:47:06):
And then Teresa's husband actually coaches me, and it's also.
Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
Going, okay, how what amazing? How long will you be gone?
Speaker 12 (01:47:14):
I think I'll be gone eleven days.
Speaker 6 (01:47:16):
Total, basically two weeks from me two okay?
Speaker 3 (01:47:20):
All right, and then you'll compete against people from all
over the world, all over the world.
Speaker 2 (01:47:24):
Do you have a do you have a reference point of, like, oh,
we got to watch out for so and so from Sweden,
or like, is there somebody on your radar that you
know that's going to be your toughest competition?
Speaker 9 (01:47:36):
Yeah? Absolutely, who is it? There's a really fast Italian
and there's a really really fast Swiss girl okay, and
the Indonesia and Britain okay.
Speaker 2 (01:47:49):
And they're probably talking about, well, there's.
Speaker 3 (01:47:51):
A really America girl.
Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
She's in Spokane. I think she's on the David Molly
show right now.
Speaker 5 (01:47:59):
They're hearing it.
Speaker 2 (01:47:59):
They hurting us worldwide. People are talking about you.
Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
How can people support you? I know Sam talked about
a big fundraiser, but just in general, if people want
to know, let's say they're listening and they're in your
situation and they're saying, you know what I want to
I want to give it a try. I want to
be an athlete. I want to go work out with
these people. How do you do that?
Speaker 6 (01:48:18):
So great question. So we have a website called Para
Sports Spokane dot org. You can go to or you
can just google Para Sports Spokane. It'll take you straight
to our website. Click on our calendar and they'll give
you all our locations where we're going to be yet
and what, oh my gosh, events or competitions, competitions, practices,
(01:48:44):
all that's on the calendar, so anyone can show up, okay.
Speaker 2 (01:48:48):
And then for the big event that that Sam hosts,
what what is What is that? Is that a fundraiser?
Are their awards being given out from previous competitions? Like
what is that?
Speaker 9 (01:49:00):
It is Para Sports biggest fundraiser of the year. Okay,
So it's a wine auction, so lots of good prizes,
there's good food, a good program, it's fun.
Speaker 12 (01:49:10):
We'd love to have you.
Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
And Sam's a good host.
Speaker 12 (01:49:12):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:49:15):
We witnessed his hostory over the weekend with the cancer
can't He was very good and he owns his own talk,
so don't worry. Yeah, he's got his.
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
Tie, he'll be there. Well, it's super cool.
Speaker 3 (01:49:27):
Yeah, it's so nice to meet you. And we want
to follow up, follow up, and we want to know
what happened. Yeah, when you get back.
Speaker 9 (01:49:35):
I think we both post. We both post on our
social media's.
Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
So okay, where do we find you on social media? Instagram?
Mainly what's your handle?
Speaker 12 (01:49:45):
Why don't Glindy dot Marcus? And is mine?
Speaker 6 (01:49:49):
I believe mine's Bob dot hunt. Let me make sure quick.
Speaker 9 (01:49:53):
And then while he's looking at what his handle is,
I'm gonna para sports. We can't also post updates and
of what's going on with the program, and so.
Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
I'm going to follow you guys right now. I'm gonna
do it. Yeah, I'm genuinely interested in this, and I
think it's fantastic. This is I mean for I mean,
you talk about a worldwide event. Yeah, two other people
were competing right here.
Speaker 3 (01:50:16):
I know we were meeting them, and you know you
tell that Italian chick. Sorry, Marcus, here is not happening.
I'm gonna I'm gonna look it up too. I'm gonna
look it up, and I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:50:28):
Gonna and I'm gonna look it up special.
Speaker 3 (01:50:30):
It's spoke Spokane Parasports.
Speaker 6 (01:50:32):
Yeah, Parisports.
Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
Okay, Okay, that's gonna be a problem. Then if I
do it wrong, all right, I will find it. Oh,
here comes Sam's coming back displaying something.
Speaker 4 (01:50:44):
Sam.
Speaker 13 (01:50:45):
Hey, Well, I mean, I mean I'm com scene. So
I want you folks to know when pairing with Parasport
is this year or next year, technically January thirty first,
and we love to have you. You can always reach out
to meet or you can go straight to the Parasport
website we just mentioned, follow us on social media, find
out all about it. It's amazing what I really love
about this event. Honestly, it reminds me of cancer.
Speaker 4 (01:51:07):
Can't.
Speaker 13 (01:51:07):
It's like you don't have to be a part of
something to understand something right. And so when you go
to an event like this, maybe you're able bodied, maybe
you don't have anybody in your life that their life
is changed and been profoundly impacted by Parasport. And I
(01:51:28):
see how everybody's life changes, because it's like it's super
emotional about this, because when something happens in your life
sometimes you feel like this is your the this is
the end of the life as you know it. And
for people in Parasport, they know this is like the beginning.
It's a new life and it's a great life. And
when you go to something like this, when you go
to this specific event, they're not just there, They're like
(01:51:50):
they're going around your tables. You're meeting them, and just
like any other event where you get to know people,
you get to meet these people on a meaningful level.
And that is so great because you'll really feel what
they're doing is super special and important and you will
want to do anything you can to make their dreams possible.
Speaker 5 (01:52:09):
So it's really cool.
Speaker 13 (01:52:11):
You get to know these people, all these people that
in Parasports Bouquet and their families, their supporters, their loved ones,
their friends. It's an amazing event. And I guarantee you
your money back if you don't have a great time. Okay,
and Teresa will send you the money.
Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
Who's your co host?
Speaker 4 (01:52:28):
Do we have?
Speaker 5 (01:52:30):
Do we have the official co host this year? All right?
So Chelsea?
Speaker 13 (01:52:34):
And Chelsea is a para athlete herself, Okay, yeah, so.
Speaker 6 (01:52:37):
Five time Paralympians.
Speaker 13 (01:52:39):
Five time paralympian by the way, Yeah, you know how
many how many titles I have won?
Speaker 5 (01:52:44):
Zero zero combined to combined, Dave, we have five.
Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
That's right, that's a little bit. All right, Well that's
that's super cool. Wonderful to me, you guys, and we
will be Monday. You're heading off to New Delhi and
then you know, when you guys come back, we would
have you back on and talk all about it, your
(01:53:11):
your victories.
Speaker 6 (01:53:12):
Yeah, yeah, most definitely.
Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
Yeah, you know, world champions pretty cool, start manifesting, right,
I love it? All right, thanks guys, all right, we'll
take a break. When we return, Ken, we'll join us.
I will have that. We have lots to get to
on the program. Thanks for being with us, everyone. The
Dave and Molly Show continues from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 1 (01:53:39):
We now return to The Dave and Molly Show, live
from the nu America Studios.
Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Oh we're back, all right, and uh Ken is here.
Hey you've been here.
Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
I have been here, And what a what a cool segment,
What a bunch of cool people there?
Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
Your people can I rolled.
Speaker 10 (01:53:57):
Up and I said, hey, I found my people.
Speaker 4 (01:54:00):
They were to talk to them before they came in,
and yeah, Lindy and Bob and Coach Treesay.
Speaker 3 (01:54:08):
Yeah, she runs a.
Speaker 4 (01:54:11):
She does.
Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
Yeah. I was telling her that. It's like, you know
when Sam said, hey, I you don't like to have
these people on. What do you guys think? And I said,
you know, we're always yeah, sure you're Sam and we yeah,
and then get them on. It's like, these guys are fantastic.
What a cool story. I'm glad that we got to
hear about it, and and I do want to follow
up with them.
Speaker 4 (01:54:31):
That degenerated me a lot to talk to. Yeah, I've
I've was aware of their pair of sports spoke hande
because the Saint Luke's activity and their their recreational team,
they play basketball into all the sports.
Speaker 3 (01:54:48):
So if you had to pick a pair of sport
right now, what would you pick? You got to start
training tomorrow for the Super Senior second.
Speaker 10 (01:54:55):
Probably maybe hand cycling.
Speaker 4 (01:54:59):
I no, oh, they here's the thing. And I just
talked to Bob on his way out. I said, I
know you're an athlete because you don't have your tip
bars on your chair. I have my training wheels on
still and he goes, hey, you'll get there. But then
I told him, I said, you know, my accident happened
(01:55:21):
when I was fifty four.
Speaker 10 (01:55:22):
It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
Speaker 3 (01:55:26):
Yeah, he's been a chair his whole life. I know,
I said, I.
Speaker 4 (01:55:29):
Said, my graduating class, I call it it. Say, looks
all those guys are doing wheelies, bumping upstairs and downstairs,
and I'm like, you.
Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
Know, now I'm going to show you my transfer moves.
Speaker 4 (01:55:43):
I'm going two miles an hour, not nineteen.
Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
My goodness, isn't that crazy when you think of the
It is just of that. So in one hundred meter race, right,
you're going that almost twenty, which is uno. I mean
he's selling wheels.
Speaker 4 (01:56:00):
Yeah, she started to get there short in that in
that amount of time.
Speaker 3 (01:56:04):
And then you got to stop. Yeah, then you do
have to stop.
Speaker 4 (01:56:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:56:09):
I would imagine too, if there's that many people in
wheelchair well, I'm sure they have enough lanes, But then
you think about running into each other, and especially with
the longer races as.
Speaker 4 (01:56:17):
The if you can get off killed her, you can
do whatever. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:56:21):
I was looking out at Lindy when she was here,
and I thought, man, that person is in good shape,
because she was standing there. I'm like, geez. And then
and then she turns around and she got her blade
and then she's one of the athletes.
Speaker 4 (01:56:34):
But yeah, exactly, Yeah, I learned quite a bit about that.
I did ask her after the segment there. I said,
now you know you're qualifying is that based on your
level of injury? And she did explain, yeah, she competes
with anybody with an above knee injury, and there's there
(01:56:56):
can be She goes, there are people who look able body,
but they do have a leg that qualifies with whatever
their distance.
Speaker 3 (01:57:03):
So it is because imagine there be an advantage if
it's if it's a lower you know, if your prosthetics
starts lower on your body, that you would be more
like able bodied than if it's a higher.
Speaker 4 (01:57:18):
Put those in divisions. And I did ask her about
the blade she puts on to run and I said,
how do how long did it take to get used
to that? She goes quite a bit and she said,
you know, people think, well, of course you can run fast,
you're springing off this blade. And she said, no, it
only gives you what you.
Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
Put into it.
Speaker 4 (01:57:39):
It's like, you know, uh, it's not a mechanical advantage
at all. It's but.
Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
Larry is on the blade, like, does she have more
than one?
Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
That I did not ask four legs has three different things.
Probably okay, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:58:00):
Okay, she said. She told me she also has her
indoor crutches and her outdoor crutches just to get around
and stuff. Yeah, we were and I was talking with Bob.
I said, I said, I'm a guy. I'm just I
look at equipment. I'm an equipment guy.
Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
Yeah, like you know each other.
Speaker 10 (01:58:21):
I said, Yeah, my maintenance guy came two weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (01:58:23):
That was the biggest day of you know, biggest day
of the way, like going to the mechanic and get
your car back. You feel so good.
Speaker 10 (01:58:32):
So that was that was awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:58:34):
I learned a lot, kind of got hooked up, and.
Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
Following we got some swag out of the joint. I
have a sweatshirt.
Speaker 4 (01:58:42):
Falling, so we'll uh uh look for them in a
couple of weeks. That's a new jo.
Speaker 3 (01:58:48):
Say that we could watch it somehow.
Speaker 4 (01:58:50):
Uh. I think it is a lot on your life
and stream and I'm sure you could just probably search
that up. That would be good.
Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
Yeah, what's what's been the last week since we uh
last it was last Thursday, right, it.
Speaker 4 (01:59:06):
Was last Thursday. In the last two weeks in our house,
the Trician. I haven't been to a wedding in several summers,
and then both day. Uh, it's the tale of two
weekends and the tale of two different weddings. I talked
about the other one. We went to beautiful in town
(01:59:28):
resident backyard, and I believe that brid and Guram were
introduced to a beautiful It might have been a John
Legend song something like that. This weekend we drove out
to a ranch near Springdale, Washington, which I thought it
(01:59:50):
was us guy misplaced though.
Speaker 10 (01:59:52):
But Springdale and uh outdoors.
Speaker 4 (01:59:57):
And you're basically kind of a past sture event area.
And the bride and groom did not come introduced to
John Legend. It was Motley Cruz Kickstart my Heart. Yeah,
And there was cowboy boots and there was and there
was people, I mean every type of dress and it
(02:00:21):
was it was warm, but it was a beautiful breeze
and we had the most fun out there. One thing
that usually I am always running late, and I had
I had everything in my calendar and the GPS because
(02:00:42):
it's outside area. And I told Trisha, I said, okay,
it's it's a two thirty. It'd be nice to get
there at one. So I texted, oh, you really nice
to get up there and just drive around. So we
did arrive at one. We drove into the area and
could see there's a lot of cars here, and actually
(02:01:05):
the mother of the bride kind of came walking, you know,
because they were all kind of doing some other things.
And I realized that, no, it didn't start it too,
It starts at three thirty. So we were there at one.
Speaker 3 (02:01:21):
Oh got there early, yes, And they're like, they're still
doing their preparation.
Speaker 10 (02:01:27):
So I acted like, no, we meant to get hear
this early.
Speaker 4 (02:01:31):
I saw. I rolled the window down. I just said,
I was just wondering when we return, is this a
good place to park? She said yes, and so we
drove back out to the little town of Springdale and
drove down to tiny little town and then to Loon Lake,
and then you can go to a deer park. Is
(02:01:54):
not that far?
Speaker 3 (02:01:55):
Oh okay, that's not that star.
Speaker 4 (02:01:57):
So we went right to the McDonald's. Are just parked
in the shade and you have chatted. I had a cheeseburger,
which was the best thing ever.
Speaker 3 (02:02:10):
Just a regular cheeseburger, regularly just a regular cheese.
Speaker 4 (02:02:13):
And probably fries and and something because really the only
thing I consumed after that it was in a can.
Speaker 3 (02:02:23):
And you get tanked again.
Speaker 10 (02:02:24):
I didn't get tanked, but my son and my.
Speaker 3 (02:02:28):
So the last time you said you were getting missy eyed,
you know, a little too much. It was making you emotional.
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
Said you were going to go to the wedding drunk.
That was here drunk. Here's the thing I said. I said,
for the first.
Speaker 4 (02:02:46):
Weekend wedding, the biggest deal was one was going to
get missed the eyed, which I did. And I said,
the biggest fear of the next wedding was possibly getting drunk.
Speaker 2 (02:02:59):
I didn't get wrong, okay.
Speaker 4 (02:03:00):
But I do have to say this, and I it
was just a fun It was almost like family reunion
from both sides and friends and so forth, and laughter
and everything in between. And then the only time that
I got misty eyed was when the groom, my son's
(02:03:23):
good friend, hugged his mother.
Speaker 3 (02:03:26):
Oh oh, there you go again.
Speaker 4 (02:03:29):
But it was just, you know, it was just a
miss It wasn't well in the breeze, you know, it
was something.
Speaker 10 (02:03:37):
It wasn't a down park, it was not a downpot.
Speaker 4 (02:03:41):
But then after the ceremony, man just the huge party
and dinner and and this was.
Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
The one that Dylan was in. And they went up
the day before and they opted for a hotel rather
than can't did they did.
Speaker 4 (02:03:55):
There was a lot of in this place is I
guess it's called the Moose Valley Ranch, and I think
primarily like hunters go there and stay overnight. Just gorgeous
mountains behind and and but it's a venue for events
and all that. So yeah, my son opted for Airbnb
(02:04:18):
the night before. When we got there, and you know,
there are all the groups. There was eight attendance and
all stands up there looking good. I can tell my
son was just you can tell by looking at your
and child. I said, he's exhausted.
Speaker 8 (02:04:38):
Oh yeah, and it's a long day and this and that,
and and we got to sit with his his very
good friend, his girlfriend, she sat with us.
Speaker 4 (02:04:52):
She is good friends with the bride and that's kind
of how those two groups even intercepted. And so she
sat with us and she told us, Uh, last night
during the rehearsal, I had to tell uh, I had
to tell Dylan to sit stand up straight because he
(02:05:12):
kept just kind of he was like he was just
wavering around. And then I could tell uh. When everything
was done and he came over in his tucks and everything,
he said, did I do a good job?
Speaker 14 (02:05:31):
It was very good, handsome wedding.
Speaker 4 (02:05:37):
His first time being in a wedding that was and
you know, just meeting and greeting everybody. I do have
to give a shout out to and I wrote their
names down because they were so nice. A gallant. I
saw a gal just making a beeline to me and I,
(02:06:00):
you know, you're going in your ear?
Speaker 3 (02:06:01):
What did I do to her?
Speaker 4 (02:06:03):
She goes, you don't know me, but I just want
to say I listened to your show, our show for
years and years and years and her name was Heather.
Thank you very much, Heather. And then another Gale came
up and said, I am a cousin of the groom
and in the same story as.
Speaker 3 (02:06:25):
Listeners, and they listened to the news show too.
Speaker 4 (02:06:27):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (02:06:29):
I wonder if it's one of our we have several
Heathers very well.
Speaker 4 (02:06:33):
Could be.
Speaker 2 (02:06:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:06:34):
And just on the other total different tip of that.
Trisha went to her pick up some prescriptions yesterday and
the pharmacist said, can I ask you a question? Is
your husband Ken? And she said yes. She goes, I
just want to tell you I listened to their show
(02:06:56):
since I was eleven.
Speaker 3 (02:06:58):
Oh my god, I think that's it's great.
Speaker 2 (02:07:00):
He's a formacist.
Speaker 4 (02:07:04):
And he is very Tris said, well, they're still on
and she he went on his phone and stop and
so thank you. They're out there.
Speaker 3 (02:07:15):
They're so nice. People are still finding us.
Speaker 4 (02:07:19):
Yes they are.
Speaker 3 (02:07:20):
You know, in two weeks from now, not next week
when you come in, but possibly the week after when
you come in, you'll come in and just stay downstairs.
No more elevator will be downstairs.
Speaker 2 (02:07:29):
My new studio.
Speaker 4 (02:07:30):
I've seen your guys's teaser and I've rolled by the
actual thing, but I haven't ducked my head.
Speaker 3 (02:07:37):
Yeah, we need to put our heads in.
Speaker 4 (02:07:40):
That is going to be very cool.
Speaker 3 (02:07:41):
It's yeah, it's going to be a change. We're gonna
have to get used to it. But that's what we
do with adapt.
Speaker 4 (02:07:46):
Yeahs Hey, I just want to say real quick, you
guys look really good and red oh thanks. Yeah, the fundraising.
Speaker 3 (02:07:58):
People.
Speaker 10 (02:07:58):
Yeah, and I got a little bit more to the story.
Speaker 4 (02:08:02):
Uh, when my son went to pick up a tux
and he ran there to Dave. Yeah, and and my
son he's so he's so understated. He never it's just
after the fact. He said, you know, he ran into
Dave and he said, yeah, Dave said, I need a
lot of red and then and then he said he
(02:08:24):
heard the guy say, okay, well let's see what's your sizes,
and Dave said, oh god, I and and it just
tailed up, Oh god, I don't and.
Speaker 10 (02:08:37):
Then the funns. But he would just come home and
say that it's like the King.
Speaker 4 (02:08:44):
It was like more to the story. Oh god, we
don't know. Yeah, well that was funny.
Speaker 2 (02:08:51):
Those people are so good, the mister Tux and Kareem
you know Kareem. Oh yeah, Kareem has been I believe
he's been there for like thirty years. I can't believe
he was still there, and so, you know, he's you've
seen the you know, progression, the progression, the growth.
Speaker 4 (02:09:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:09:07):
So that's why I was probably a little bit. I don't,
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:09:11):
Don't the last one you rents?
Speaker 4 (02:09:14):
Don't you have it in the records?
Speaker 3 (02:09:16):
Somewhere in his mind he's saying, I know we have
the records, but there's differences. I'm just gonna casually pretend
I don't have any records, right, damn jab, that's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (02:09:31):
So that's.
Speaker 2 (02:09:34):
That, and that tides it all together because Sam was
the host for the Cancer Can event and then he's
also the co host for the Spoken Parasports.
Speaker 3 (02:09:45):
Boy he is busy.
Speaker 2 (02:09:46):
Ye he does a lot of those. He's good at
it to Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:09:49):
Hey, I firsthand, Uh got the Sam explaining did you
see what I heard?
Speaker 3 (02:09:57):
And he was down on it. It was it was
he was crouched down on his knee. And what he
said when the para sport people came, he said, I'll
do a quick introduction and hand it over to you. Sure,
And so Dave and I were laughing because it was
five minutes maybe six into it, we still hadn't heard
from the sports people. He was still explaining, well, good
(02:10:18):
set up.
Speaker 2 (02:10:19):
But I thought I thought it worked to our advantage
that he was not in a chair and he was
on one knees, Like, well, he's going to get uncomfortable.
He's going to want to move this along so he
can stand thought there because this this uh you know,
this carpet, but underneath the carpet, I think it's cement.
I mean it's it's a hard surface and I don't
(02:10:41):
I mean my knee on that would hurt yeah, so
he was squatting popping a squat.
Speaker 4 (02:10:48):
Yeah. I was also going to tell Sam real quick.
And I know he told this story probably two months ago.
I remember, I too, looked at I don't usually look
at my credit card bunch of my debit, and I
saw a charge on there for a dollar seventy six.
Speaker 10 (02:11:05):
I said, what the hell is this?
Speaker 2 (02:11:08):
And then I did turn out immediate mean rea almost
two dollars.
Speaker 4 (02:11:14):
I used to seeing the Spotify's and all the stuff,
and I go what And then it turns out it
was a strawberry pop tart that I bought, the little
steam thing it shows up with somewhere to drive like
market something.
Speaker 3 (02:11:32):
You're like, I haven't been in Seattle.
Speaker 4 (02:11:33):
I didn't. I haven't been to Provo. What the Yeah?
So it was a strawberry pop tiwn.
Speaker 2 (02:11:43):
And you got your you've got your Mariner's lander on
your landing on and uh you the streak was snapped
last night.
Speaker 4 (02:11:51):
It was, but our friend mister Rawley is on fire
hit a couple of more home runs and then what
did they half came out, but I came out. Now.
I think they can tie it. I don't think Houston plays.
Speaker 2 (02:12:04):
Right the Houston is day off before the big series
this week. Oh, I know, yeah, and we got we
got Castillo. In fact, the game starts here in a
couple hours.
Speaker 4 (02:12:13):
I think that's like.
Speaker 2 (02:12:15):
And we never overlook an opponent. But well, after we
win today, then we get ready for the big series.
Speaker 3 (02:12:22):
Then gave overlooked the opponent yesterday and that's what happened.
Speaker 4 (02:12:27):
I was really disappointed yesterday. But you know, very very tough.
That's in there. And I know, hey, we got football
back tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:12:39):
Will you come to our anniversary party on Wednesday night
next Wednesday?
Speaker 4 (02:12:44):
Next one, I'll have to put that.
Speaker 3 (02:12:45):
Oh it's Mary Hill.
Speaker 4 (02:12:48):
It's the year.
Speaker 3 (02:12:49):
Yeah, the day after there. So if you and Trish
wanted to come and hang out.
Speaker 2 (02:12:55):
With us, it's anniversary week next week.
Speaker 10 (02:12:57):
Yeah, and we've got a couple of huge events we do.
Speaker 3 (02:13:01):
We're gonna be together Friday and Saturday night.
Speaker 4 (02:13:03):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:13:04):
Wait, you see all the safety Net stuff. We got
some good stuff, really good.
Speaker 4 (02:13:09):
Yeah. And the last time we're all together, yeah, we
gave away forty five thousands.
Speaker 2 (02:13:15):
That's right, boy.
Speaker 4 (02:13:18):
We have oh yeah, three days in a row, will.
Speaker 3 (02:13:22):
Be together, that's right, Friday, Saturday and Monday.
Speaker 2 (02:13:26):
Oh, I guess not Sunday.
Speaker 3 (02:13:27):
Yeah, well, unless we have a sleepy right.
Speaker 10 (02:13:31):
We have a fantasy football party or something.
Speaker 3 (02:13:35):
Football, that's gonna be a lot of us. We better
get along. We better behave ourselves and get along quite.
Speaker 4 (02:13:41):
A bit of us.
Speaker 3 (02:13:42):
Yeah, okay, all.
Speaker 2 (02:13:45):
Right, Well we're gonna take a break. We'll do fun
We're gonna do fun facts today. We didn't have to
do it yesterday. And it'll be fun to have you
in here because you you're a good fun fact detector.
We can we can keep track of those, so we'll
get to that. We'll also have our hot Topic segment
coming up as well. The David Molly Show continues with Ken,
live from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 1 (02:14:11):
We now return to The Dave and Molly Show Live
from the Numerica Studio.
Speaker 2 (02:14:16):
All Right, we're back, and it's a We're gonna shift
gears here a little bit because usually Wednesdays we do
the fun Facts. We ran a little late yesterday, so
we're moving fun Facts to today. And it's perfect because
Ken's here. And I always remember when YouTube would team
up against me and the fun Facts trying to decipher
which one is fake fun fact?
Speaker 3 (02:14:38):
Very good, like the Judge's panel snippy out a little
better because then we bounce back and forth. He also,
though he doesn't allow as many questions as he used to.
He puts a clamp down. He's like, okay, all right,
we're moving.
Speaker 10 (02:14:52):
Yeah, and with the help from the texture. Yeah, of
course and all that.
Speaker 2 (02:14:56):
Last year, I think our last the last time we
did this. Uh, nobody on the text line got it either,
that's right.
Speaker 3 (02:15:04):
The Dutch pros text line is five oh nine four
four eight three two three seven for four eight three
two three seven. So if you're taking notes and then
you want to chime in, then we'll need.
Speaker 10 (02:15:15):
You at the right and almost do that in real time.
Speaker 3 (02:15:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:15:19):
Uh, here's how fun facts works. I have a series
of one statements. Uh, they're all I don't know, they're
interesting facts. I mixed in one that I made up.
Your job is to identify at the end of the
segment which one was the fake fun fact. What's the
only rule for fun facts.
Speaker 3 (02:15:37):
That there's only one fun fact fake? The only rule
is what googling? Oh sorry, I was like, whoa, Okay,
the game if you if you were on the text
line and you know a fact for sure, you're welcome
to say. You know what, I know that one the
money just said about the fish or whatever, that's real.
(02:15:59):
I know that to be true. That helps us all
as a team.
Speaker 2 (02:16:01):
Sure, okay, that does?
Speaker 4 (02:16:03):
Yeah, all right, verifies let's begin, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:16:08):
Marilyn Monroe was born the same year as Hugh Hefner.
She was born June first, nineteen twenty six, and he
was born two months earlier, on April ninth, So same year.
Game of Thrones and Friends had roughly the same budget
(02:16:30):
at ten million dollars per episode. Friends cost that much
even two decades earlier, because the cast's salaries were so high.
Speaker 3 (02:16:40):
So ten million dollars was the budget for a Game
of Thrones per episode.
Speaker 2 (02:16:45):
Yes, that what.
Speaker 3 (02:16:46):
You're saying, and so is Friends as they're hefty. Well,
six million dollars of that went to the cast, right, yeah, remember, Okay,
a couple of weeks ago, he said Game of Thrones
pilot was not accepted because what did you say? There
are multiple comedy comedic moments. No, there were comedic moments
(02:17:07):
in multiple multiple orgy scenes.
Speaker 2 (02:17:09):
Yes, oh, I.
Speaker 3 (02:17:15):
Multiple multiple orgy scenes. There are comedic moment, yes, comedic moments.
Speaker 2 (02:17:21):
I was very proud of that one. It was very
happy with that. There are two songs in history that
spent ten weeks at number two on the Billboard chart
without ever making it to number one, Waiting for a
Girl Like You by Foreigner in nineteen eighty one and
(02:17:42):
work It by Missy Elliott in two thousand and two.
Speaker 3 (02:17:48):
Work It or worth it, isn't it?
Speaker 4 (02:17:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:17:54):
Worth it is that you're thinking about.
Speaker 3 (02:17:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:17:59):
The get out of jail free card from Monopoly was
a real thing in England in fifteen sixty seven. There
was a lottery to raise money for the Navy, and
the winner got a get out of jail free card
to excuse them from everything but the most serious of crimes.
Speaker 4 (02:18:20):
No.
Speaker 3 (02:18:21):
Yeah, I've got my first circle people a little store
on that one. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:18:29):
When Sherwood Schwartz was first given the pilot for Gilligan's Island,
there were eight castaways. A doctor was excluded from the show.
The writers thought it would be too hard to have
eight for various storylines.
Speaker 4 (02:18:47):
I think it was more because of the song.
Speaker 3 (02:18:49):
They just couldn't make it the whole song Marianne.
Speaker 4 (02:18:54):
They already had to redo it twice, the Professor and
Marianne and the rest, plus the doctor.
Speaker 3 (02:19:01):
Yeah. Yeah, and look there's a doctor who came on
board last minute.
Speaker 2 (02:19:08):
Yeah, a doctor tour. Will Smith's part in Men in
Black was originally offered to David Schwimmer, but he turned
it down.
Speaker 4 (02:19:23):
Wrong.
Speaker 2 (02:19:24):
There were sixty one million people using pagers in nineteen
ninety four. That number is now down to two million,
mostly in hospitals.
Speaker 4 (02:19:36):
There all doctors.
Speaker 3 (02:19:37):
Oh man, I remember that. I remember the page are
going off and I was waiting tables and it was
in my pocket and then you'd see the number pop up.
You're like, oh, what's my agent? Oh, I hope I
have an audition. Yeah, and it wouldn't be like your
friend and pagers were I mean, that was the That
was a way to connect. It was pretty good with
it was.
Speaker 4 (02:19:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:20:00):
The world record for most people on a commercial flight
is one thousand and eighty eight. That includes the number,
or that number includes two babies that were born on
the flight.
Speaker 3 (02:20:14):
Oh what kind of airplane was that? One thousand and
eighty eight people and two babies were born on the flight.
You should know the flight.
Speaker 4 (02:20:22):
Yeah, it could have been trans continental flying, could have
been our friends are flying a new dollar.
Speaker 3 (02:20:30):
But with one thousand people on board, and two babies are.
Speaker 10 (02:20:34):
Born, could have been twins, could have been twins. I
don't know, like I know anything about it.
Speaker 3 (02:20:43):
I would like to know the details of that, Okay, Okay,
I don't know what kind of flame and how old
I made.
Speaker 4 (02:20:49):
People.
Speaker 2 (02:20:51):
If you wanted to buy the parts in an iPhone
back in nineteen ninety one, it would have cost over
twelve million dollars. And that's not even including the camera
or a screen.
Speaker 3 (02:21:05):
Back when how long ago in the nineties.
Speaker 2 (02:21:08):
Nineteen ninety one. Okay, One out of every two million
lobsters is blue, one in thirty million is a yellow
orange color, and one in fifty million is a dual
(02:21:29):
dual colored split down the middle, and one in one
hundred lobsters is white or translucent.
Speaker 3 (02:21:41):
That's too many numbers to throw around. Yeah, there better
not be something hidden within there. Let's just call it
an interesting fact and move on about lobsters, about sus
and don't you.
Speaker 2 (02:21:51):
Got to have a lobster fun fact.
Speaker 3 (02:21:53):
I gotta throw that in there, Okay, all right? Having
on stir.
Speaker 2 (02:22:02):
One of the reasons the World Wildlife Fund went to
a panda bear for their logo is because it's black
and white which saves money on printing.
Speaker 4 (02:22:13):
Costs actually makes sense awesome.
Speaker 3 (02:22:20):
Rather than a peacock or something.
Speaker 2 (02:22:22):
Yes, yeh yeah, peacock would because oh yeah, ridiculous to
be terrible.
Speaker 4 (02:22:28):
Quite a few Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:22:33):
Over sixty two percent of Starbucks stores have another one
within one mile.
Speaker 3 (02:22:39):
I believe that.
Speaker 2 (02:22:40):
And the average store has three point six other stores
within one mile.
Speaker 3 (02:22:48):
I don't know if it's exactly what you're saying, but
it sounds at least in the ballpark.
Speaker 2 (02:22:53):
Yeah, ballpark, ballpark.
Speaker 4 (02:22:55):
Don't you do that? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:22:57):
Explaining it takes over eight hundred gallons of water to
produce one gallon of wine.
Speaker 4 (02:23:07):
Ooho, one gallon.
Speaker 3 (02:23:12):
Next time I drink a gallon of wine, I'm gonna
say I really appreciate thank you eight hundred gallons for
providing me for this gallon of wine.
Speaker 4 (02:23:19):
Yes, it's good trade off.
Speaker 2 (02:23:22):
Canada, California, and Tokyo all have about the same populations.
Canada's current population is estimated at just over forty one million,
Tokyo's metro area has nearly forty one million people, and
California has over thirty nine million.
Speaker 3 (02:23:48):
So you've got a country and a state and a
city with all the same population.
Speaker 4 (02:23:54):
Yeah, Canada.
Speaker 3 (02:23:56):
That is an interesting fun fact if it were true.
Speaker 2 (02:24:01):
Cracked Tom Brady was drafted by the Montreal Expos in
the eighteenth round of the Major League Baseball Draft in
nineteen ninety five, but he decided to stick with his
plan to go to the University of Michigan and play football.
Speaker 3 (02:24:18):
How'd that work out?
Speaker 2 (02:24:20):
College? Not so well?
Speaker 4 (02:24:22):
Bro was pretty good, Pretty darn good. Yeah, that's odd.
I had never heard that one about mister Brady, but
I could believe it. He's an athlete.
Speaker 3 (02:24:31):
Last time he last time he did a baseball one.
Last time it was about Oh yes, it was two
weeks ago, and it was the singer. It was what's
his name who sings the Candyman? Yes, oh Sarah. He
said that he was drafted to a minor league team
and he played one season and he even gave a
(02:24:53):
batting average of like one thirty three or something. He
was really and floated by us.
Speaker 4 (02:24:59):
Nole You don yeah too away.
Speaker 2 (02:25:06):
Until I formed the fake Remember the bird from the
old Twitter logo. It has a name Larry, as in
Larry Bird because the co founder of Twitter, Biz Stone,
grew up in the Boston area and he was a
huge Celtics fan.
Speaker 4 (02:25:27):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (02:25:33):
After President James Garfield was shot in an assassination attempt,
he couldn't hold food down, so for the last month
of his life, his doctors fed him through his rectal cavity.
Speaker 3 (02:25:50):
They put food up his butt. Well, molly, well, that's
what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (02:25:56):
That is true.
Speaker 3 (02:25:58):
I'm trying for your butt feedings.
Speaker 10 (02:26:00):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (02:26:01):
But we're wrapping this office. Okay, chores down. But there,
what are you, turkey? What do you want for? Not
the stay Oh my gosh, not.
Speaker 2 (02:26:21):
The sunflower seeds with the shells.
Speaker 3 (02:26:23):
No, no lobster out.
Speaker 10 (02:26:27):
I told you I hate cilantro.
Speaker 3 (02:26:34):
Entire orange.
Speaker 2 (02:26:40):
The US has the highest drinking age in North or
South America. The next closest to US is Paraguay at
age twenty and the last of our fun facts. The
Guinness Book of World Records has discontinued some of its categories, including,
(02:27:07):
but not including, but you.
Speaker 3 (02:27:09):
Know, not limited to.
Speaker 2 (02:27:12):
Raw egg consumption, heaviest pet and most beers consumed in
an hour.
Speaker 3 (02:27:21):
Well, domestic, get rid.
Speaker 14 (02:27:24):
Of those safety issues. Safety first, Okay, so quite a few.
I have a few questions here.
Speaker 2 (02:27:36):
Only one of those is fake.
Speaker 3 (02:27:40):
Well, okay, I'm thinking that they get out of jail
free card that kind of and then they got Gilligan
and the doctor. The flight thing. I don't know how
they put that many people on board, but there's going
to be some weird thing where it was like an airlift.
Speaker 2 (02:27:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:27:55):
It's a commercial though.
Speaker 4 (02:27:59):
Do we think raw really was in the running for
Minute Black?
Speaker 3 (02:28:02):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 4 (02:28:03):
He would have been filming friends.
Speaker 3 (02:28:05):
Would yeah, and it is a silly role.
Speaker 4 (02:28:11):
Rangel, Yes, I mean I mean something would have liked
that would have happened.
Speaker 3 (02:28:16):
Yeah. Also, I worry about the panda thing. Just like
you don't decide on an animal to save money. I'm printing.
You don't be like, oh, that's going to be the
mascot because we want to save some many on print.
Speaker 4 (02:28:28):
That could have been a byproduct, could have been anything.
Speaker 3 (02:28:34):
Jennifer says, I'm going to guess, Bross, what else? What
are you thinking?
Speaker 4 (02:28:37):
Ken I?
Speaker 2 (02:28:39):
Trevor says, I'm thinking Gilligan is fake? Why have a
professor and a doctor?
Speaker 3 (02:28:47):
Well that's that they didn't, but you know.
Speaker 4 (02:28:50):
You do the pilots. I have that that iPhone parts thing.
Speaker 3 (02:28:55):
Oh yeah, that sounded a little.
Speaker 4 (02:28:57):
The original parts would lost that much.
Speaker 3 (02:29:01):
Yeah, that seemed a little high.
Speaker 4 (02:29:03):
And also a little disparity. I believe on the Canada
Tokyo Pallaslifornia thing, but I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (02:29:13):
Well, there's think of how much of Canada doesn't have anybody.
The territory is up north. There's just it's all right.
Speaker 4 (02:29:22):
Yeah, it is the low, wide open Mmmm.
Speaker 2 (02:29:30):
Jesse says the Pande logo is the fake. Carla says
Friends is fake. Molly says Gilligan's Island, Linda says the
iPhone is fake.
Speaker 4 (02:29:40):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (02:29:43):
Regina says lobsters or butt feeding, well.
Speaker 4 (02:29:48):
Rectal feeding.
Speaker 2 (02:29:49):
Aaron says Twitter bird is fake.
Speaker 3 (02:29:52):
I don't I think the bird's name is Larry. I
think I know that, but I don't know that it
was named after Larry bird. That might be where you're
I think I've heard that, have you. I know the
bird's name is Larry, but I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:30:04):
Well, it's it's a bird named Larry. I know Larry bird.
Speaker 3 (02:30:11):
Don't do that. Don't do that, Twitter Ryan lobster statistic
is fake. You know. I'm leaning towards the lobster too
this whole. I think that there are lobster there are blue,
and I don't think there's two tone. I don't. He
said it was right down the center, right are there's.
Speaker 4 (02:30:30):
A translucent one?
Speaker 3 (02:30:32):
I believe, yeah, but there's no Yeah, no, I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:30:38):
Okay, Well, one more on the text line. Curtis says
Larry as the bird's name is fake. Sarah says, I
call on the lobster facts. Jessica says the Guinness Book
of World Records one is fake. Julie says the lobster
is fake. Paula says, friends, Ah, you guys locking in
(02:31:00):
on one. We're gonna we'll call it right here.
Speaker 4 (02:31:02):
I'm gonna lock in, okay.
Speaker 10 (02:31:05):
I I'm locking in only.
Speaker 4 (02:31:06):
Because I don't think Tokyo has that many people. Okay
too that it is a massive city.
Speaker 2 (02:31:17):
But yeah, the same size as California and Canada.
Speaker 4 (02:31:21):
Right, that's where I go.
Speaker 3 (02:31:23):
Oh you look at him. I'm gonna go with the lobster.
I think you went one too far. I think that
there is there is one in a million, there's one
and blah blah blah. But there is no two tones
straight down the middle of lobster. So for those reasons, Dave,
I'm locking in on lobster.
Speaker 2 (02:31:39):
So we got lobster. We've got Canada, California, Tokyo right
in the studio.
Speaker 4 (02:31:45):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (02:31:47):
The fake fun fact has been identified. It has, but
only on the text line yet.
Speaker 3 (02:31:56):
Really it's not the bird thing?
Speaker 4 (02:31:58):
Is it the iPhone part?
Speaker 3 (02:32:00):
No friends, No Gilligan. It's too simple.
Speaker 2 (02:32:11):
Could have assumed.
Speaker 3 (02:32:15):
Better, sort.
Speaker 4 (02:32:18):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (02:32:19):
Yeah, when I made up and the and I made
that one up as I was looking at our archives stuff.
And there's one that says Gilligan because I think where
I said Gilligan was like the least sexy name. You know,
I'll make something about Gilligan's island.
Speaker 3 (02:32:34):
So anyway, I should have known better.
Speaker 2 (02:32:38):
But everything else, everything else was true. The whole lobster
thing is crazy numbers, but it's true, the.
Speaker 3 (02:32:45):
Whole A thousand people on one aircraft and two babies
were born. Yeah, doesn't have any more information about that.
Speaker 2 (02:32:52):
Right, I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (02:32:53):
I guess it was a Spokanne to Bonanci flight, which
is weird.
Speaker 3 (02:32:58):
That's crazy, my goodness.
Speaker 2 (02:32:59):
Yeah, in the labor.
Speaker 3 (02:33:02):
Taxiway somewhere ever spangled they I don't know beginning.
Speaker 2 (02:33:11):
Yeah, this is true. The world record for the most
people on a commercial flight one thousand and eighty eight.
That number includes two babies that were born on the flight.
Speaker 3 (02:33:23):
That is, here's okay, all right, so here's this. The
Airbus three D has eight hundred and fifty three passengers available.
So would you add crew in because they have a
lot of crew on those eight three It had to
it was it nineteen ninety one?
Speaker 2 (02:33:43):
Did they It doesn't don't have a year, just over
one thousand.
Speaker 3 (02:33:46):
While that's crazy. Oh, oh, here we go. Most passengers
on a single flight. It was an evacuation in nineteen
ninety one. One thousand and eighty eight people were transported
during the mission and it was a seven forty seven
a feeling that everybody had a seatbelt. Oh it was.
But that's what I'm thinking. Yes, okay, that's crazy, man,
(02:34:09):
And that's why two people have babies because they didn't
think they were going to fly. They were getting evacuated
from somewhere. Oh so okay, because normally you don't even
get to fly when you're that far along. So that
all makes sense. Now, that's why you don't get to
google you guys.
Speaker 2 (02:34:25):
That's a true one.
Speaker 4 (02:34:26):
You can't do that.
Speaker 3 (02:34:27):
Crazy. Well, nice job you got us, And I think
you got me on my turfing it.
Speaker 4 (02:34:34):
And the next time you have a nice glass of wine,
it took eight hundred pallons of water.
Speaker 2 (02:34:39):
Actually, I haven't downgraded that because I think there is
an actual number. I think it's like eight forty two.
And I just said over eight hundred just because.
Speaker 3 (02:34:47):
It's and I all the irrigation and stuff.
Speaker 2 (02:34:50):
I heard a similar stat when we were getting a
tour a couple of weeks ago, when.
Speaker 3 (02:34:55):
He was mistaken for a wine expert at Walla Walla
and treated I.
Speaker 2 (02:35:00):
That's what it had to have brought you. They rolled
out the red carpet and it's like, we're not worthy
of this. We don't, but I'm not going to say no.
All right, after a break, we'll come back with our
hot topics and uh yeah, it's been a good day.
I think it's been a very good day. Great quick
(02:35:21):
break back with Hot Topics. The David Molly Show continues.
Speaker 1 (02:35:30):
Hot Topics brought to you by Clark Hire, an automotive.
Speaker 2 (02:35:36):
Time for Hot Topics. Dave Ken and Molly.
Speaker 3 (02:35:41):
Show Like the good Lord meant it to.
Speaker 2 (02:35:47):
Be right, Amen, And as you talked about earlier, we
have a lot of things coming up together we do.
Speaker 4 (02:35:57):
Boy, we do busy.
Speaker 2 (02:35:59):
The next week we'll have we'll have our anniversary party.
That's on Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (02:36:04):
It's very cool.
Speaker 2 (02:36:05):
Then we have an event Friday.
Speaker 3 (02:36:07):
Then you'll come in on Thursday, right.
Speaker 4 (02:36:09):
Come in on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (02:36:10):
Yeah, well, better together at Northern Request on Friday. This
is a really cool safety Net event. On Saturday. Hearing
a lot about that. And then the day of rest
the Lord's Day.
Speaker 3 (02:36:22):
Yes, football football.
Speaker 2 (02:36:24):
And then Monday we'll give away the second of two truck.
That's crazy, pretty good.
Speaker 3 (02:36:32):
We're going to be attached at the Hap.
Speaker 4 (02:36:34):
Canyon giveaway out there.
Speaker 3 (02:36:36):
Yeah, that'll be fun.
Speaker 2 (02:36:38):
Let's start with birthdays today, celebrating only his thirty second birthday,
Patrick Schwarzenegger, he's the one.
Speaker 3 (02:36:44):
That just got married.
Speaker 2 (02:36:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:36:46):
Appear in quartline yes, wow white Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:36:52):
Yeah, he used to Back in the old days. He was,
wasn't he with Miley Cyrs. I think they did stuff
twoing with each other. I might have, but now not anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:37:03):
No, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (02:37:05):
And celebrating his fiftieth birthday today. We know him better
as Ted Lasso. Jason Skis Oh I love him.
Speaker 4 (02:37:12):
Yeah, very nice.
Speaker 2 (02:37:13):
Saturday Night Saturday Night Life Superstar and then I said
I'm gonna write this thing. And it was a It
was fantastic, a beloved series.
Speaker 4 (02:37:24):
Feel good forever.
Speaker 2 (02:37:25):
Yeah, smart, clever, entertaining, touching, all.
Speaker 3 (02:37:31):
The things that you like, very funny.
Speaker 2 (02:37:36):
He has two kids with Olivia Wilde, very wild excellent.
Speaker 4 (02:37:41):
Right that That also taught me a little bit about
soccer as well.
Speaker 3 (02:37:46):
Yeah, yeah, maybe I thought it was going to be
more interested. Actually when we went to the game the Zephyr,
not the Zephyr, but the Zephyrs are the ladies. Who's
our velocity philosophy?
Speaker 4 (02:38:00):
Right?
Speaker 3 (02:38:01):
I actually, because of Ted Lasso, understood way more than
I would have had I never watched Ted Lao.
Speaker 2 (02:38:08):
But don't let that For people that have not seen
Ted Lasso, don't let that scare you. No, no, you
have you don't have to know anything about soccer to
appreciate the greatness of the show. Right the backdrop, Yeah,
Lance Armstrong, Yeah, he's fifty four today, Okay, beat cancer.
He did doping investigations, not so much.
Speaker 4 (02:38:30):
They finally got him, took away all of his stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:38:33):
Why are you talking like that? That's how.
Speaker 2 (02:38:39):
And he used to do things tune with Cheryl Crow.
Speaker 3 (02:38:41):
Yeah, that ended after the doping thing.
Speaker 2 (02:38:46):
Yeah, she I tailed it out of there, she did.
Speaker 3 (02:38:48):
She don't want to get wrapped up in that scandal.
Speaker 2 (02:38:51):
See if ken knows this, Ricky Bell.
Speaker 4 (02:38:55):
Running fifty for USC.
Speaker 2 (02:38:57):
See, now, that's what I would have thought. That's what
I would have guess. If one says Ricky Bell to me,
that's the first thing I think of. But there's a
more famous Ricky Bell. Yeah, but he's not the one
you think, right. He hears the bell in Bell biv Devot.
He's also a member of New Edition. Sure his was
(02:39:21):
poison and then they had tons of hits. The girl
was poison, Yeah, a good days and the New Edition
had you know, cool it now and mister telephone man.
Speaker 3 (02:39:40):
Cool it now? What is mister telephone man? How's that go?
Speaker 2 (02:39:45):
Mister telephone man? Don't you call?
Speaker 4 (02:39:51):
Right?
Speaker 2 (02:39:51):
I would know what if I heard it?
Speaker 4 (02:39:53):
Kids don't even know what a telephone.
Speaker 3 (02:39:55):
Is, right, a telephone?
Speaker 2 (02:39:58):
I think we're all about this. Fred Willard, yeah no
longer with us. Passed away about five years ago. This
would have been his birthday, and he had many cool
He was Phil's dad on Modern Family. He was also
Martin Mole's life partner on Roseanne and of course the
role that we love him in is Ed Harken from
(02:40:20):
the Anchorman movies.
Speaker 3 (02:40:21):
Yes, but also he was in He's been in yeah,
is it is it? It's not the a cappella one,
it's one of the competitions show, right, But he was
in another one I thought where he was a commentator.
Maybe it was just best in Show, maybe somebody else.
Speaker 2 (02:40:38):
And then he was in the first Spinal Tap movie. Yeah,
I remember he was at the military dances trying to
explain where the band was going to Burffle. I saw
the new Spinal Tap movie. Yeah, it's fun.
Speaker 4 (02:40:54):
That's seen that out there on my list.
Speaker 2 (02:40:58):
And James Gandalfeet.
Speaker 4 (02:41:00):
Had a birthday today long with us, way too early
for him to have talked to us.
Speaker 2 (02:41:06):
Tony, you watched every episode of The Soprano.
Speaker 4 (02:41:08):
I did. Yeah, that was one of the original bingers
as far as I was concerned.
Speaker 3 (02:41:16):
And were you okay with the ending?
Speaker 4 (02:41:20):
I was. I remember talking about that on the on
the air the next day or the Monday or whatever.
I was just the whole mystery of it. I thought
it just kind of gave it an extra spring at
the end.
Speaker 2 (02:41:38):
Good. Yeah, Today, every day has its day. Two things today.
One we talked about it earlier, National Cheeseburger Day.
Speaker 3 (02:41:46):
Doesn't that sound good?
Speaker 4 (02:41:47):
Yes? It does.
Speaker 2 (02:41:49):
And this is a thing locate an old friend day.
Speaker 4 (02:41:54):
Oh yeah, I think that's good as well.
Speaker 2 (02:41:56):
Maybe you locate an old friend and you sit down
and have a cheeseburger together. Yeah, and then you are
participating in American.
Speaker 3 (02:42:04):
Culture, right right.
Speaker 2 (02:42:06):
If you don't do that, then you're not No, then
you're not an American.
Speaker 3 (02:42:09):
No, no, why.
Speaker 4 (02:42:11):
The American cheese on them?
Speaker 2 (02:42:14):
Sixty years ago today, two shows debuted on NBC same night. Okay,
Get Smart and I Dream of Genie.
Speaker 3 (02:42:22):
Oh my god, that you can't if Desert Island? Right
if you said, take two shows with you, and I
know you're going to say, oh, you're going to pick
the Brady Bunch, But I would have to not because
I've seen every episode multiple times. Get Smart would be
on that list, would you believe? Believe? And I don't
know about I dream a Genie. I may have to
(02:42:43):
put something else on there at its.
Speaker 4 (02:42:44):
Moments, but I like, I mean, talk about something for
all the audiences those two.
Speaker 3 (02:42:51):
Yeah, Get Smart was hilarious.
Speaker 4 (02:42:54):
I was obsessed, almost ahead of its time, a little bit.
Speaker 2 (02:42:57):
Yeah, well they had a shoe phone.
Speaker 3 (02:42:59):
Yeah right, maxx ninety nine and then they go in
the ConA silence and it never worked. And he always
wanted to use the ConA silence and his boss was like, no,
it's never going to work. I would be crazy.
Speaker 2 (02:43:14):
Fifty six years ago today, the year is nineteen sixty nine.
Back problems and an addiction to painkillers led to the
replacing of Dick yorke Yes with Dick Sergeant.
Speaker 3 (02:43:27):
Oh the people picks are different.
Speaker 2 (02:43:34):
This was season six of Bewitched. Yeah, so that I
didn't realize it was that far into it.
Speaker 3 (02:43:40):
It was, and I don't know how many more seasons
they went after that, but he, you know, they looked
similar ish. They just didn't even explain it. And I
remember towards the end adopted that. Yeah, but he was
sweaty and you could tell he was. He was in
a bat and he would wear a back brace. You
could see it through soon Oh yeah, yeah, he kept
(02:44:03):
getting angrier and shorter and angry or shorter and sweating.
Speaker 4 (02:44:07):
His temple was sweating.
Speaker 2 (02:44:08):
Yeah, it sounds like some people I know. Fifty five
years ago today, Jimmy Hendricks was found dead in his
London apartment at age.
Speaker 3 (02:44:18):
Twenty seven, right, the dangerous age.
Speaker 4 (02:44:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:44:24):
Forty nine years ago today. The year is nineteen seventy six.
Play that Funky Music by Wild Cherry was the number
one song in America. Yeah, America got it run.
Speaker 4 (02:44:34):
Yes, brings back.
Speaker 2 (02:44:37):
When you hear that at the beginning, you just think, Okay,
I'm in for the next three and a half minutes.
That song still works. That's fantastic. Yeah, and that was
seventy oh seventy six. Still yeah, man, that was a
(02:44:58):
good time.
Speaker 4 (02:44:59):
That was huge, huge, man.
Speaker 2 (02:45:03):
Forty two years ago today, Kiss This nineteen eighty three,
Kiss appeared on MTV without their makeup for the first time.
Speaker 3 (02:45:10):
Oh, and everybody went, put it back on. We didn't know,
we get it now.
Speaker 4 (02:45:16):
Who are these guys?
Speaker 3 (02:45:17):
Stay covered?
Speaker 4 (02:45:17):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:45:23):
Forty one years ago today, nineteen eighty four is the
year Jeane Wilder married Gilda Radner. Yeah, they say, two
of the nicest people in the show business.
Speaker 4 (02:45:35):
Yeah, and he was the love of her life. I
read her book way back in the day and just thought, man,
it was the sweetest that's the cool love story.
Speaker 3 (02:45:45):
And she was the love of his and he was heartbroken.
Speaker 4 (02:45:48):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (02:45:49):
Yes, she died five years later ovarian cancer in nineteen
eighty nine. Yeah, and then Gene Wilder died in twenty sixteen.
Speaker 4 (02:46:00):
Not that long.
Speaker 3 (02:46:02):
Will he lived a long time without her?
Speaker 4 (02:46:04):
Yeah, Yeah, that's sad.
Speaker 3 (02:46:06):
I think he remarried. I remember watching this, Remember this show,
The Wilder Show was a documentary. I think they had
his current wife with him.
Speaker 2 (02:46:15):
Oh okay, Yeah, the early days of Saturday Night Live,
they said that every guy on the in the cast
had a big crush on Gilda Radner, and they just
everybody loved her. She's one of those people.
Speaker 4 (02:46:29):
So sweet.
Speaker 2 (02:46:30):
Yeah, and forty years ago today, this is the fortieth
anniversary of the very first top ten list done on
The Late Show with Dave Letterman.
Speaker 3 (02:46:40):
So stupid. I don't know how it ever caught on.
Just you have the.
Speaker 2 (02:46:43):
List, I have the list.
Speaker 10 (02:46:44):
I just launched a brand.
Speaker 4 (02:46:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:46:49):
The topic was top ten things that almost rhyme with peas. Yeah,
number ten heats kind of almost, number nine, Rice, number eight,
moss number seven, ties, number six, needs, number five, lens
(02:47:09):
number four, ice, number three, nurse nurse in peace almost
number two leeks and number one meets.
Speaker 3 (02:47:22):
And then they're just killed. Tonight, let's do this all
the time, and they did.
Speaker 2 (02:47:27):
It was a staple on forever, was a staple thirty
eight years ago today. I remember seeing this the night
before it opened nineteen eighty seven. Men everywhere became much
more cautious about their side action. Oh yeah, we'll be
called fatal attraction.
Speaker 3 (02:47:45):
Oh my goodness, yes.
Speaker 2 (02:47:48):
I remember. That was when we were doing the movies
where it would be like every week we were giving
away free tickets for a movie or whatever preview deals.
And I went with a bunch of people from the state.
And back then, there's no way. He didn't really know
the preview. There was no Internet, so there's no you know,
just it's free movie. It's Michael Douglas and closed. And
it was like, oh my gosh, that was you left
(02:48:10):
there a different person. Yeah, it was pretty pretty.
Speaker 3 (02:48:13):
Intense, especially the boys.
Speaker 4 (02:48:15):
It was crazy.
Speaker 2 (02:48:18):
A similar cautionary tale hit theater theaters a decade earlier,
the nineteen seventy one movie Play Misty for Me. Oh yeah,
that was another freaky one.
Speaker 3 (02:48:30):
Now he was the DJ, right, and then she was
the one stalking him? Is that the story. I've never
seen that movie.
Speaker 4 (02:48:37):
I remember watching that as a youngster because you know,
it was like our radio gun. Oh my guy.
Speaker 2 (02:48:44):
And he had a super cool house. He was like
living in California. Wow, yeah there was yeah, and yeah
he had he had a good thing. And the and
the soundtrack was pretty good.
Speaker 3 (02:48:55):
Did she was she obsessing about him as that one?
Speaker 4 (02:48:57):
Who was the girl who played the was? Is it
Angie Dickinson? Maybe there's oh ish like that. I'm not sure.
Molly's going to google it for a good one. No,
play Misty? For me?
Speaker 2 (02:49:10):
I thought it was actually a really good Both of
those movies are great movies. I mean that, you know,
the topic is little Roy scary and weird, but they
were really good.
Speaker 3 (02:49:21):
I think it was Donna Mills. Well, Jessica Walter wasn't
it too?
Speaker 2 (02:49:25):
I think I might have been Jessica Walter.
Speaker 3 (02:49:27):
She was the lead person. Oh yeah, yeah, she's on
the poster. Oh that makes sense, Walter. That makes sense. Boy?
And then and then Donna Mills maybe was his girlfriend
or something? Maybe because Donna Mills isn't it too?
Speaker 2 (02:49:41):
Does it have the soundtrack in there?
Speaker 4 (02:49:45):
Who is the program director?
Speaker 3 (02:49:49):
Let's see soundtrack for play Missy the First Time?
Speaker 2 (02:49:55):
Yes Ever saw You?
Speaker 4 (02:49:57):
Fee?
Speaker 3 (02:49:58):
Is there a song called Misty? Is that the deal?
Speaker 4 (02:50:02):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (02:50:03):
I mean Missy, Yeah, Misty, was the first time I ever
saw your face? Willie and the hand give preachers blues
feeling fine, country preacher, dirty boogie. It's not unusual.
Speaker 2 (02:50:15):
I think the first time ever I saw your fat
that might have been nominated for an oscar probably and
that I.
Speaker 4 (02:50:20):
Think so good.
Speaker 2 (02:50:22):
One and twenty one years ago today. Oh, I think
we remember this day very well. Two thousand and four,
Britney Spears, Mary's Kevin feederline. They went ahead and did
things too and with each other. That produced two kids.
Their divorce was finalized in two thousand and seven.
Speaker 3 (02:50:43):
Wow, it took a while. Yeah, no, well they.
Speaker 2 (02:50:47):
Got married in two thousand and four they had two kids.
So in three years they got married and divorced and
had two kids in there. Yeah, that's crazys are all,
you know, they're twenty one year olds.
Speaker 4 (02:50:59):
Like every week during that time there was a new
headline with Brownie. Lots tons of stuff going on.
Speaker 3 (02:51:07):
Poor Brittany, and now you see her all over the place.
Let's see what Brittany's up to this morning. I like
to go to the Instagram and.
Speaker 2 (02:51:14):
I think she posted something yesterday.
Speaker 3 (02:51:16):
Did she oh, and I'm sure I'll see a big
thumbs up from Dave's.
Speaker 2 (02:51:20):
But you know, no, I did not.
Speaker 3 (02:51:22):
You didn't. Let's see Brittany. What is it? Is it?
Speaker 4 (02:51:26):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:51:26):
Yeah, it's the the check mark. Yeah. Oh, boobies, Oh
oh no, it's a montage, montage of all her things.
She's a cowgirl. She's a cowgirl. I never listened to
it with the music, like, I never hear the music.
So she just looks.
Speaker 2 (02:51:45):
Crazy, right, She's always dancing around.
Speaker 3 (02:51:49):
Dress my boobs up, my boots. Me guess she looks great.
We love Brittany.
Speaker 2 (02:51:57):
Television notes, Tonight you do have Thursday night football. The
Buffalo Bills will be hosting the Miami Dolphins. And this
is the first of the what do you call it,
the coaches checks. He's on the hot seat the Dolphins coach.
Speaker 3 (02:52:16):
Three.
Speaker 2 (02:52:16):
And then and there's a there's a good chance, you know,
pretty good, that the Bills will wipe them out. And
because they don't like the doll on paper, they're a
twelve point favorite. They're at home, they're they're not going
to have any shenanigans. They're just going to take care
of business. They could win by forty oh. I mean
that's and I'm not I you know, I will I'll
(02:52:39):
take a bet. Anybody you want to bet, I'll give you.
I'll give you seventeen points and the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (02:52:46):
That's quite a few points.
Speaker 2 (02:52:47):
Quite a few points.
Speaker 3 (02:52:48):
Yeah, all right, Hey, what did I see? Speaking of that?
What was there a blowout college game this last weekend
where it was like forty to three or fifty to
three or something.
Speaker 10 (02:53:00):
It was two I'm sure there were.
Speaker 3 (02:53:03):
There were two teams and one was like it would be.
It was like Texas State and Texas University or something
State and something University. They were both in the same
place and it was a wipeout. I just saw it
up on the screen. I'm not going to take your
back because I think you're right. I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (02:53:21):
And that's a lot of points if it gets away. Yeah. Well,
I think the betting line moved up to twelve and
a half. I think it opened at eleven or eleven
and a half, and now then it was twelve, and
now I think it's that's my selection in my eliminator league.
It's like you have to pick. You have to keep
picking winners. That's a safe one. But I can never
(02:53:42):
pick the Buffalo Bills again the rest of the season.
Speaker 4 (02:53:44):
So I'm yeah, oh you you have to weigh that own. Hey, hey,
I was corrected telling you that.
Speaker 2 (02:53:51):
Oh yeah, yes, yes, I'm only won money on that.
Speaker 3 (02:53:58):
I won six dollars and eighty five sense on that one.
But if they beat the Ravens in the Ravenville, then
then my ticket then right now, I got twenty six
eighty five and then rolled it over. Dave rolled it
over for me. I'll have like eighty two dollars if
they win. That's different.
Speaker 4 (02:54:18):
It's very nice.
Speaker 3 (02:54:19):
I think they can do it.
Speaker 2 (02:54:22):
The crazy thing about that is that after that game,
Lions and Ravens, I mean two good teams. After the
game Monday night, one of those teams will be one
and two. And that just doesn't like, you know, it
doesn't seem fair. Those are two really good teams.
Speaker 3 (02:54:40):
The way the cookie crumbles, as.
Speaker 2 (02:54:42):
They say, that's the raven flies.
Speaker 3 (02:54:45):
That's the way the raven flies. That's the way the
lion roars roars. How we do we roar?
Speaker 2 (02:54:51):
They're different. Hu Also Tonight Television notes the series premiere
of Black Rabbit. Have you heard about this?
Speaker 3 (02:54:58):
No?
Speaker 2 (02:54:59):
Jude law p is a restaurant owner forced to deal
with the New York criminal underworld after he lets his
irresponsible brother Jason Bateman.
Speaker 3 (02:55:10):
Oh, yes, the series. I thought it was a movie.
Speaker 10 (02:55:14):
He did see the commercial or promo.
Speaker 3 (02:55:18):
Yeah, so it's a series. A series and channel Netflix tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:55:25):
Yeah right, yeah, I can watch it.
Speaker 4 (02:55:29):
I trust both of those guys when they read a
script that it's going to be good. Yeah, usually why might.
Speaker 3 (02:55:36):
Check that out on a rabbit.
Speaker 2 (02:55:41):
Speaking of that, tonight, Jimmy Fallon will have Jude Law
on the show and Tom Lamas. Tom Lamas is the Yamas.
He is the new NBC news anchor.
Speaker 3 (02:55:52):
Oh that's right.
Speaker 4 (02:55:53):
Oh yeah, uh, Jimmy Kimmel out of there is Fallon
just going up against paid programming. Yes, what the hell
is going on?
Speaker 2 (02:56:03):
Well, Colbert is still on. Oh he he's you know,
dead man walking. He's supposed to be done in May.
Molly stated earlier that that he's going to uh get extended.
Speaker 3 (02:56:17):
They'll bring him back because he just won the Emmy.
The crowd went crazy.
Speaker 4 (02:56:21):
And he does have ratings. I know the Kimmel Show.
Wasn't everyone very good?
Speaker 2 (02:56:27):
No?
Speaker 3 (02:56:28):
Yeah, he was winning. Colbert was winning. Yeah, the nights.
Speaker 4 (02:56:32):
Yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (02:56:34):
Yeah, Stephen Colbert on his show has Jake Tapper, Tap
tap Tapper, and then Seth Myers will have Jason Bateman.
Speaker 3 (02:56:43):
Now how does Seth Myers do? How did those? I mean,
who else is on the it's the Oliver? Is he
on the later? What happens late at night?
Speaker 4 (02:56:53):
I know it is interesting after.
Speaker 3 (02:56:56):
Worried I go to bed at nine? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:56:59):
Yeah, And the weird is you know, you think about
there was a time when Letterman was on that. You know,
he was after he was like the twelve thirty show,
and then he became famous doing that, right, so you
know it can be a platform. But it's just so
different now. Some of it is the way these shows
are done, and then some of it is just the
(02:57:21):
you know, just times times have changed and exact people.
Speaker 4 (02:57:24):
Don't people watch those stuff with their own time whatever?
Speaker 3 (02:57:29):
Time shifting?
Speaker 4 (02:57:30):
Time shifting?
Speaker 3 (02:57:32):
Yes, Yes, Trevor's a shout out to Jesson Happy Thursday.
Trevor likes to shout out to people and I always
think it's their birthday when he does that. And then
I realized.
Speaker 2 (02:57:48):
Nor pas in may I believe right?
Speaker 3 (02:57:53):
Uh oh boy now, And he showed me his picture.
He writes everything down just like we do. Oh, he
circled garfel Garfield rectal, So that was true.
Speaker 10 (02:58:06):
That was true.
Speaker 11 (02:58:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:58:09):
And then and then Schwartz eight he had that the doctor.
Then he said, uh, yeah, so he was he makes
notes just like we do.
Speaker 2 (02:58:21):
I love that. And then you actually see his ya
and he circled a couple of them.
Speaker 3 (02:58:31):
And then Edwin says, today's National e book Day. Did
you hear that, Molly? Why? Because because I listen instead
of read.
Speaker 4 (02:58:42):
Gotcha?
Speaker 3 (02:58:43):
Gotcha? All right? I think we're done here, be done.
We need to Friday, Yeah, Friday.
Speaker 2 (02:58:56):
What's kind of the rest of the day.
Speaker 4 (02:58:58):
And then for the weekend, today's very very cool day. Well, actually,
Trish is out to lunch with a friend tonight. I
don't know if you well, you guys remember when we
went to Hawaii for two months.
Speaker 3 (02:59:13):
I remember very well.
Speaker 4 (02:59:14):
I believe it was the first week we were there.
We met. Trish has a classmate that lives in Hawaii.
His name is Pat and Terry, and we went to
a very nice golf club that happened to have Barack
Obama as a member. To anyway, they are in Spokane.
(02:59:35):
They're back home visiting all their friends. So we are
going to invite them out to dinner tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:59:42):
So where are you guys going to go? Can you
tell people?
Speaker 4 (02:59:44):
It might I don't know, but I suggested the Tower Downtown.
Are just somewhere downtown Tower Tower? Yeah, so we may
do that. I have something right after the show that
I have not done and I believe probably fifteen years. Oh,
(03:00:04):
it's gonna be good. I'm going to the eye doctor. Oh.
I haven't been to the eye doctor since I had
lay sick a million years ago and did all that,
and I just you know, I hate to say it,
but I do the danal when I have to, and
the eye just gets lost.
Speaker 3 (03:00:24):
But I agree, I.
Speaker 4 (03:00:26):
Need to have my eyes checked. So we'll see about that.
And then yeah, go to dinner tonight with your fresh eyes,
with my fresh eyes. We'll see. And then through the weekend,
I'll be football crazy. My Oklahoma Sooners play the oppor Tigers.
You're they play the Tigers. Don't know a whole lot
(03:00:49):
about that. And I'll be watching Mariners play here in
about an hour, and you know all the other fun today.
Speaker 10 (03:00:56):
Nfls on tonight, I mean come home.
Speaker 3 (03:00:58):
Oh yeah, what's it?
Speaker 2 (03:00:59):
Going to take for you to put a wager down
on any of these teams. You know you're gonna be
out there on Monday.
Speaker 4 (03:01:04):
I know, I really.
Speaker 3 (03:01:08):
You can give her, you can.
Speaker 2 (03:01:09):
Give her some money and you can pick a team
and pick or just pick a winner.
Speaker 4 (03:01:13):
Well, I'll just go with Dave's I'm going to take
I'm going to take that thirty nine point. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:01:22):
In house betting, well, I have a bet on the Seahawks.
But it's just a money line bet all separate from
the eliminator thing. This is a real money and I
think it's.
Speaker 4 (03:01:33):
Is it in New Orleans?
Speaker 2 (03:01:34):
Yeah, And I'm only going I'm risking like fifty dollars
and I'll win like fourteen Oh they'll win.
Speaker 4 (03:01:44):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:01:45):
I just take the money line.
Speaker 10 (03:01:47):
You have a favorite, Yeah, right, it's safe money.
Speaker 3 (03:01:50):
Sure, we'll save you then for you.
Speaker 4 (03:01:53):
Oh yeah, yeah, man, I'm gearing up for for a
very busy end of September.
Speaker 3 (03:02:00):
Yeah, this weekend is the calm before the storm. This weekend,
in fact, you know, the mini win He's been in
the shop and we decided to pull it out at
the shop so we could have one less weekend with
it rather than leaving because they have to order the part,
and we have a makeshift. A mirror fell off and
so we have a little makeshift mirror. Yes, So the
(03:02:20):
decision was made that Ken would go pick it up
tomorrow with the with the little makeshift one on it,
and we'll go out to a Black Bull for the weekend.
Use it one more, maybe the last one, maybe not
if the weather holds, will use it maybe more, and
then put it in the shop and then they can
just take their time with it. It won't matter. So
that was the Yeah, that's that's tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (03:02:40):
But a beautiful weekend.
Speaker 3 (03:02:42):
Yeah, that should be.
Speaker 2 (03:02:44):
We're so lucky we are.
Speaker 3 (03:02:46):
And I think September like our I was looking at
the weather for our event which is probably on here
because we like to open the hangar doors out at
the airport, and I think we're going to be I
think it's going to be perfect. I don't. I mean,
I think it'll beul It's supposed seventy one. That is perfect,
thank you, and nothing but sunshine, no rain on the board,
(03:03:06):
just seventy one for next Saturday.
Speaker 2 (03:03:08):
Mother Nature smiles on Spokane, USA.
Speaker 3 (03:03:11):

Now I have put up My video is our offering
for the day. It is on the Dave and Molly YouTube.
It is me in an acting class somewhere in the
early nineties. It's there for everybody to see my loud shirt,
my earrings, my very dramatic co star, and everybody is
(03:03:36):
now saying, well, the comments that I've gotten is it's
cringey because he's touching you so much and he's dramatic.
Oh so plus I yeah, anyway, it's me filming me
on a TV. It's like, you know, so it's up
on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (03:03:50):
Are you wearing a T shirt that says Frankie say relaxed?
Speaker 3 (03:03:54):
You know what I.

a little preview. Hang on a second. There, I am
very I'm playing a prostitute. Oh but I'm supposed to
be like fifteen or sixteen. Yeah, come on, man, come on,
give me a break. Look at that shirt, Loo, get you.
I loved that shirt. It had big shoulder pads and
all the colors, and my hair in a clip and
(03:04:20):
big earrings.
Speaker 4 (03:04:21):
A little pretty and pink is going on there.

to our YouTube channel. Yeah, we're in the nine hundreds.
We need to be we to go to a thousand thousands.

I am going to make the trip out to the
church to church for a little while today, not a
whole long time, but some and then i'm karate duty.
And I did tell him, you know the other day
when I did karate, I had to stay there in
the parking lot to deal. I was doing some filming
and I said, I can't do Panda. I'm not going
to go to Panda after you get done at five
(03:04:57):
and then drive all the way north past Raising Cane
and all that chaots. So today during karate, I will
go to Panda, probably get it missed. And I'll tell
you this. If I go, and if the Raising Cane
line is not long, I will swing through and get back. Yeah,
I'll get some chicken fingers. I have a feeling though
(03:05:20):
at four, well, if I leave right at four and
go head that way, I might be able to get
through the line and then get to Panda too. I
want to I want to try some of that.
Speaker 2 (03:05:30):
I would love to hear your report.
Speaker 3 (03:05:31):
Yeah, really, So that's my day.
Speaker 2 (03:05:35):
You're busy, I will have time to get home. I'll
finish up here and then I'll get home just real quick,
get something to eat. And today's a golf day, so
that'll be fun. And look we I mean, look at
the day. It's a beautiful day, and we're getting into
the time. We're not there yet, but we're really close
to the time when it's like, you don't know if
this is your last round. You know when they want
(03:05:56):
because next week is a busy week. I don't know
how if I'm to get around in next week, and
then you know, things can change weatherwise, and then it's
like you're trying to pick your spots and rise. So
I was very excited that it's gonna that we're gonna
get out today and that's it's gonna be fun. And
then I did say earlier, and I want to hold
on to that, I would like to have a cheeseburger today,
(03:06:19):
just in honor of America good old want you to
start talking about cheeseburger. Don't you just think, yes, I
want to have one. Now I want one in me.
Speaker 4 (03:06:27):
Well, now that you say that again, I do yes, yes,
Because I'm very suggestible. I've always said.
Speaker 3 (03:06:33):
That would always come back the next day. Well, you
guys were talking about Tacosco, wasn't.
Speaker 4 (03:06:43):
One of those.
Speaker 3 (03:06:43):
We forgot all about it.
Speaker 2 (03:06:45):
So I'll get home from from the golf, have cheeseburger,
and then I will watch some of the football game.

Herbi and he'll have his dog with him. He always
has his dog with him. Oh yeah, dog gets to
be right. But that's part of his deal that he signed.
He's like the announcer in demand because he does a college,
the major college, the biggest college game on Saturday. Whenever
that is the college do, he's there, and then he
(03:07:23):
goes to the Pro destination. Then Thursday he'll go you know,
Flies Saturday or Flies Friday. Is ready for the Saturday
game and his dog is with him the whole time.
Speaker 3 (03:07:34):
Well, I think that'd be fun to be able to
take your dog anywhere you went. I want to pet
you now here you are. By the way, the other
day at the casino, two dogs got into it. Oh
you forget. You know, there's a lot of dogs that
are hanging around and they're not all like cute little dogs.
(03:07:55):
They're beefy dogs. And you heard this.
Speaker 2 (03:08:00):
They were, did they? Actually?
Speaker 3 (03:08:01):
Yeah, I didn't see them. I could hear them. And
it was scary because you know, you're sitting there playing,
you're not paying attention, and then somebody else's dog walks
by you. Your dog freaks out. I'm sure.
Speaker 4 (03:08:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:08:14):
I saw someone playing with they had a they had
a dog pouch on their front. Yeah, and they were
playing a machine and the dog was right just like
their Yeah, and there, but they're playing their game. Dog
just sleeping in there.
