Speaker 1 (00:00):
At the anniversary Dave of Mollie Anniversary.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Happy anniversary, David Mollie.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
Happy anniversary, David Mollie.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
We're glad you're back.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
By from the New America Studio and brought to you
by Northern Quest Resort in Casino.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
It's the Dave and Mollie Show.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
How about that? All new for a new year. We
were just on television with the pretty people.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
They're very pretty, very pretty.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
I do think though, I will say this that I
think that those lights make us look better than we
I mean, those lights help all the people, so they
look extra pretty and then we look okay, like it
helps us look okay. I think I love those big lights.
That's nice. What a pretty set.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, this is it. This was It was one year
ago today that we started this program in this studio
in the you know, in this building. So it's very
very exciting. And they had a little little celebration down there.
We have our big celebration night tomorrow night at Maryhill
Winery that'll start at five o'clock. And this is this
(01:08):
is it. Do you remember you remember wory last year
when we were first starting. We had a practice show, Yes,
like the Friday before, but It was a Monday, September
twenty third that we that we started the.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Whole new thing, and the weekend before was spent very
similarly in that they did the Dutch Bros. Raising money
for the Christmas fund that you went to did the
Billvard Race. I spent the weekend in quarterline, so it
was almost exactly the same thing we were doing at
the same time, but Quinn was sitting in your seat,
so it was different because we and that was new
(01:40):
because you're so used to running the board that the
two of us were like, well, so we just talk.
We're talking about so that it all came back to
us because we had been off for three months too.
That was the other thing in the history of our
you know, life together. No, it's never more than two
weeks where we don't show, right, So that was crazy.
(02:03):
We had dust off, the dust off our boots.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
But yeah, and then we and then we made it
a whole year.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah. Remember when we did the calendar, we only go
back and what was that called we.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Were the wheel of unemployment?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Then we ran out. Then we did that for a while.
I think we we carried that to the Christmas break yeah,
and then we and.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
The envelopes of anguish.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Three months of that. So, yeah, it's been been a
crazy year. And uh, Sam and or Cali will be
coming up. I think they're both going to come up
later in the show, later in our show after their
show has ended, because they have been a big part
of this. Ken will be well, we'll be with Ken
tomorrow night at mary Hill and then he'll be on Thursday,
(02:51):
and we'll reflect on on all of that. But those
were you know, you think about all the all the
people that we have had on yeah, in the studio
on the show, from from sponsors to you know, helping
people with various fundraisers.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
And our artists. We need we need some new artists,
We need some we need some more people. That whole
thing too. We were put in a position where we
didn't have any music we could play, and so right
out of the shoot we had Ella, we had my
friend Steve, my cousin Jackson, and so it was like, okay,
(03:27):
well we have a few songs so we can go
to the bathroom because we had our sponsor. But even that,
we didn't have a lot of commercials. That was an
adjustment too. What did we do during those I guess
we just played their stuff. I mean, because we've been
collecting songs over the last year, so now we have
a big collection. But and now we have best stubs
to play in archives stuff. But I don't know, I mean,
(03:49):
it must have been quick breaks, just okay, you guys
go come back. Yeah, see, that's all different. We'll helped
the community too. I like the best thing about it
is that we get to make our own rules with
who gets to be on the air, because I think
before we always wanted to have interesting stories and people
who are just doing things. But because we weren't our
own bosses, we didn't get to say who got the
(04:10):
airtime they had. They had to be buying time and stuff.
And now.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah, it's good, we can we can do good things. Yeah, yes, AnyWho,
So this is and it's anniversary week. You know, we
have the big event tomorrow night at mary Hill, Uh. Thursday,
Ken We'll be in Friday, We've got uh the Better
Together uh celebrated at Northern Quest and then Saturday is
(04:37):
your safety Net event.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
It's going to be great.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
And then next Monday we give away another truck at
Northern Quests. So this is a very busy, a very
exciting stretch. The other thing lost in all this I
do remember because I'm a wordle person, you know, I
do the on our first show that we ever did,
that was September twenty third of last year, the wordle
(05:04):
I got in one guess I had been using the
same word steam was the word yeah, And it was
just it was just like fate. It was just like
meant to be. And then today I was thinking when
I was doing it, I was thinking, what if it
happens again, what I have a different starter word and everything. Yeah,
well it didn't happen. But did you get the word
I did get it. Yes, that and I won't say
(05:25):
anymore for our my competitive friends that you know do
the wordle as well. So that was that was a
sign that was going to everything was going to be okay.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
And I think that's when we started saying everything is fine,
Everything is fine, anything's fine. We're here now.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, we finished up yesterday and then I did head
out head out west, headed out to Northern Quest to
collect my pizza cooker.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, yeah, I try that out because I was thinking
about it. When you have a pizza, like a frozen pizza,
let's say, and to heat up the entire oven. Doesn't
you know that's not efficient?
Speaker 4 (06:03):
You can you do it? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Can't you? Is that what it's for?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Oh? I thought I think I think I thought it
was to make like, you.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Know, homemade home mate.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
I think it's just like, it's just an efficient way
to cook a pizza. That's my takeaway. I'm going to
try it because the kids like to have the pizza.
But then I have to heat up the whole oven.
It takes forever and the airfire is too small, right,
So that's what I'm going to use it for.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. No, anyway,
but I did collect that, and then I collected my
football winnings. So played for a little bit and I
had I had some free money. I had forty five
dollars in free money. Good now a good gambler. Yes, now,
this is this. This is my lesson for everybody else.
(06:52):
Follow me for more gambling tips. I turned forty five
dollars into seventeen real dollars.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
You used all of your free play, which is not
real money. But then when you were at the end
of it, each time you were doing it. You were
making a little bit of money.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Pay seventeen dollars.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Now you were you going to do with the all
seventeen dollars?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Well that's already gone.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Oh yes, I see.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
But I did cash my football ticket, and then I
was very tempted to, you know, because they have the
new betting lines out for the for this coming week
of football. Yeah, but I just said I'm going to wait.
I'll wait till we get closer. It was only Monday yesterday,
you know, so right, and then you had I knew
that you had the wager on the Lions, which was
(07:37):
a good hit. That was they were underdogs and they won.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Yep. That so I started with twenty dollars and then
it was like twenty six eighty five when you cashed
it for me, and then you said you moved that
forward to just a straight money line win for the Allions,
and then it's like eighty dollars now, I think, and
I'm going to keep that money in the football world,
(08:02):
and it may get split up into between two bets,
but it'll stay in football gambling situation.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Yeah, I'll have to take a look. I was very
impressed with my Lions last night. I really liked the
way they bore.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
They did roar, they roared on that they were It
was a fun game to watch. And they played. They
were very liony, like a lion esque. They you know,
it's a close game. Fourth quarter there at midfield there,
it's like fourth and two and a half, fourth and three,
and no they don't punt, No, just go for it.
(08:37):
They get the first down. And then that was like,
that's what they do.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
The guy, the guy who fumbled on the that guy
that's like his third fumble this year. I guess in
every game he's fumbled. But right out of his fumble
with a commercial that he was on, Oh really, I
think so was it. I'm pretty sure it was him,
and I just thought, oh, that was a bad timing.
He just but I think so, maybe it's somebody different,
(09:04):
but the name sounded familiar. But he was very upset
with himself. Yeah, as he should have been. But then
the Lions made a mistake too, and that almost messed
us up because they were they got a penalty. It
was well one was a delay of well no, the
delay of game didn't happen. Another guy he was a
face mask. Oh yeah, that set us back. But it didn't.
It didn't you know, ended up being just a field
(09:25):
goal instead of a touchdown that could have been.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
And I needed that field goal for my fantasy, my
fake football team. Maybe the mask I got my first
wins I had. There was an I even screenshot at
it because there was a time I had a ninety
nine percent chance of winning and then things started happening.
That Detroit running back broke free. Luckily they tackled him.
(09:50):
He didn't get the long touchdown.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Oh is that what he messed you up?
Speaker 3 (09:54):
But I ended up winning by eight eight and a
half points. Wow, But a win is a win. I'm
on the board. I'm now one win and two defeats.
But my team has Big Mo behind them now and
everything is going to be fine.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
What is the Ravens record? Now? Are they two and one?
Speaker 3 (10:12):
So here's the thing about this, This is very interesting.
So the Ravens are one and two, right, and they
lost to the Bills the opening week. They lost in
that very close, exciting game. So and the Ravens play
the Chiefs coming up this week. At the end of
that game, yeah, one of those teams Ravens and Chiefs,
(10:34):
one of them will be one in three. Yeah, so
it's just that's not a crazy stretch of time.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah, that's why I think all the.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Good teams have to play all the good teams. You know,
that's how they do their schedules. So if you're a
first place team, you got to play all the other
first place teams, so you don't there are no you know,
you get a couple of easy games in there. But man,
it's you know, it's early in the season, but still.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
These are the ones that the commentators were saying, like
when is great, it counts the same way, but some
of them just feel better. And that was one last night,
especially when they're counting the Lion's out saying they can't
do it. Would you tell us we can't do it?
We're different? You were, we were and we fourth down
fit we're going for it.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Yes, they different. I believe it was. Troy Aikman on
the broadcast said about the Alliance coach, he's got a
set of onions that Dix.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
You know, that's funny.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Yeah, it was. It was good. It's very funny, and
they do what they do.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
At the end. He made it about himself. I knows
I was a being on an offensive team. A.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Yes, I'm glad you heard that.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Yeh, they know what that you know why?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
And then the other piece of football news, So you
know in my eliminator league. So I'm still alive. There's
we're down to twenty eight people now, started with forty two,
I believe, and people have been eliminated. We lost five
more people.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
That hap situation.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
And if you pick a team to win, all they
have to do is win, then you get to play
the next week. But then after you pick them, you
can never pick them again the rest of the season. Well,
I used the Buffalo Bills last week and they won,
and that was great. That was Thursday, so I was
safe all the way through the weekend. Well, now the
largest point spread in the NFL is coming up this weekend.
(12:27):
It's the Bills and the Saints sixteen and a half points,
the biggest point spread since nineteen seventy five. And so
everyone that hasn't picked the Bills, they can take the Bills.
They got an easy win. What about I got to
find something else.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I'll find you. Yeah, I'll find you an upset special.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Well, I don't want an upset.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
I want I mean meaning that I will meaning that
you'll be back. You'll be back, is what I'm saying.
I'm going to look over. I'll find you a game
that's a sure thing, one that nobody's ever thought of. Yeah, yeah, well,
oh yeah, we'll find you.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
I So anyway, so I finished up at the casino
and got home. I was very productive. I did get
a lot of stuff done around the house. Now he
did get a walk. I did no yard work, truth
be told, So that will It's got to be today
for that. But it was a beautiful day.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Was so nice. It's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah. And I had some some leftover barbecue food from
there was brought over from uh, you know, Nadine brought
that over from her event the other night. So it's
still there's still lots of it. It's still very good. So,
you know, watching football and having barbecue, this is fantastic.
And it was a good It was a good game
to watch, A very very entertaining game.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It was. It was fun.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
I was on the wrong side of it, the Ravens winning.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
But still, may I present to the jury. Have you
picked the Lions yet?
Speaker 3 (13:52):
I have not picked the Lions.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
They're playing the Browns in Lionville. Oh there you go
slam dunk.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
However, Brown's coming off a big win, Lions coming off
a big emotional win.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Sorry, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
I'll probably still take the line. I'll look at I
got to look at the thing. I got time to pick.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yeah you got. How about the three and o San
Francisco forty nine ers at home against the Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
I don't believe in San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Don't you tell your friend Sam Adams that.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
I think even they get. They got a ton of
injuries and they're old.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Here's this sounds like a fun game. The oh and
three Jets against the oh and three Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Both of the they have a double header coming up Monday,
and they said, hey, if you have plans for Monday night,
just keep them. You don't care about these games. You
got two oh and three teams, and then you got
the Bank and the Broncos. Yeah, so combined one and
twelve or one and eleven with all those teams with it. Yeah,
(14:55):
so that's it's a bad Monday. So enjoy your football Thursdays.
See how play on Thursday and then some good Sunday games.
But then Monday's Monday's nothing.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
Yeah, and we're going to we're giving given away a
truck that day anyway, Yeah, we don't.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
We don't care.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
The Vikis are playing in Scotland.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Where they they're playing in Dublin.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
I believe Dublin, Dublin, Dublin Dublin or Triplin.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
I'm not sure where it is any so, uh yeah,
And then I did everything right last night. I was
in bed by uh nine something sleep early. I woke
up at two o seven and I thought for sure
I was going to get back to sleep.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
And then I'm not getting back to sleep, and I think,
why am I not getting the sleep vibe thing came unpopped.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Oh no, So.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Then I then I physically get because the cord like
fell behind the bed. You know how you run the
cord in the back of the thing. So then I'm uh,
I you know, have to turn the light on, get
the court, plugged the thing back in. I did. I
think I d stood away, maybe for an extra twenty minutes.
But then then I was up a little early and
(16:05):
I just said it's go time because we had the
TV thing right, and I thought, if there's ever a
time to go in early, today's the day. But I'm
I'm tired and I didn't do anything wrong. I was
very good yesterday behaved.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Yeah that doesn't seem fair.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
No, it doesn't seem fair at all.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Well, yeah, I had a very busy and very efficient day.
I like it when I planned my route and it's good.
I had to go downtown do some banking, and then
go home and check them with a nice gal who's
cleaning my house. Oh before that, though, you had to
pick up the Dutch Bros. Card from the hell whole area.
It's just you get in and out. Jackson is awesome.
He I pull in, I say I need the Dutch Bros.
(16:44):
Cards and he as as I'm pulling in, he's handing
them to me and he goes, go go go go.
Ye efficiency, very nice. So then I went by Hoffman
Music to grab something for the auction. It was chatting
with my ex husband Kevin. We had a nice chat.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
But which one was he?
Speaker 1 (16:58):
He was the the last one?
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Yeah, well okay, I'm just because you had so many Okay,
no easy like which one it was in chronological order?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Can I finish my stories? I hadn't really eaten very
much and he had these. We were talking and he
was eating like weird food and he was making. He
called it the Molotov cocktail. It was like vitamins and stuff.
But he had these gummies, these magnesium gummies, and I thought, oh,
magnesium is good for you. I want to eat pop
a couple of these gummies. I hadn't eaten really anything,
(17:30):
not very much.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Well it was magnesium, not marijuana.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Right right, Okay, So that that vitamin e kind of
thing mixed with not a lot of food, and all
of a sudden, I just felt like nauseous.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
It was.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
It was just a gross feeling. So I had to
go home check in with an isolady, and then I
had to go out to the grocery outlet because I
was picking up wine to taste for our last meeting,
because we needed to decide on a wine for the
tables for everything. So I'm talking to Mary on the phone.
I said, I have got to go through a Starbucks.
I need a sandwich right now. I was feeling really nauseous.
(18:08):
So Mary's on the phone and it was the happiest
Starbucks person I've ever ever experienced. And it's always funny
when somebody's on the phone and they listen to you interacting.
Because I wasn't really in the mood for it. I
was plus, I was fine, but I couldn't match the energy.
It was a mismatch. And it was making Mary laugh
because hey, how you doing with it?
Speaker 6 (18:26):
Started?
Speaker 7 (18:27):
For you?
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Can I just have the mozzarella? The monzarella said, is
that it? Yeah, nothing to drink for you. No, no, no,
I'm good just that, And Mary's chuckling on the other phone.
I was like, okay, okay, sevent eighty seven for you
see up there at the first window, and then here
you go. And I was like, oh my god, okay,
thank you for that burst of energy. So I'm eating
(18:50):
the mozzarella. They have like a mozzarella panini sandwich. I'm
eating that as I'm talking to her, and I'm getting
myself over to the grocery outlet. And they have a
wine guy there who knows a lot about wine, and.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
He will buck. He's just there all the time.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
He's the wine guy. Yeah, he's the wine guy. It's
a situation. The wine at groceryet. It is no joke.
They have. In fact, the white that we're using is
from the Columbia Valley. So I decided on three different reds.
It was a cabsov like a deep dark capsov another
one called fit wine, which is it's lower in sugar,
and so what happens is it's it's still tasty, but
(19:25):
it takes the sugar out so you have less hangover.
And then a French wine that doesn't have the tannins
in it. So those are the three, and I did
blind testing. So I get all my food and everything,
I get back to the house and then I'm basically
setting up for a mini party because I'm gonna have
like twelve people coming to my house.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
So I set up the cheese and crackers and everything,
and we put the wine in bags so you can't see.
I just labeled them one, two, three, and then I said, okay,
list your favorite cheer least favorite, and that'll be that'll
be the rule, the rule of law whatever. So anyway,
so every we it was one of them got the
zero votes. It was the fit wine, which I've had
(20:02):
before and I didn't think it was terrible. So we
ended up with this Bordeaux mix. It's a blend, it's
a French wine, and it's really it's really good and
I think everybody's gonna be happy with it. And whether
you're a cab drinker or whatever. And when I go
on Wednesday, ten percent off of everything, so I'm gonna
buy cases of it. And then we picked there was
(20:24):
a chardonnay and a serving young blanc for the white,
and I'm going to get half in half of that.
So we'll have Barrister and Arboricrest pouring the really good wine.
So you start with that and by the time you
sit down at the table, you got your table wine with.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
All separate wine came I get to that table.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Yeah, we'll have a separate wine bar set up so
that there's I'm calling Molly's Little wine Bar. In case
you didn't get enough, there'll be a place somebody will
be pouring red and white at the back of the
room to make sure you're hot.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Good idea.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
And so anyway, we had a really good meeting, finishing
up all the last minute details. I think we're in
pretty good shape. But we had fun. It was nice.
And so all of our meetings have been taking place
at the library. And I believe in this because I
know once people have wine, everything changes and you are
not focused. And so in the past we've done these
committee meetings and there's wine flowing and it's like, you know,
(21:16):
an hour and a half goes by and nothing's done. Well.
At the library, you're in a room and it's focused.
So last night I said, okay, everything, we have to
get everything, all the orders of business is done, and
then we'll start tasting. And I swear as soon as
people have a sip of wine and the whole energy changes.
And there are four people who don't drink at all,
(21:37):
A couple of them would taste anyway. They just said,
will taste it for you. I said, but your opinion
doesn't really count. You really want people who are going
to drink wine. But even they were like kind of silly,
and it was just very funny. It was like, this
is why we don't start drinking before the business is handled.
So anyway, we went through those, we picked the bottles
of wine that we wanted, and then it got to
(21:59):
be I think it was close to eight. I want
to say, oh no, it was like seven ish when
everybody was still there. But we got started at four thirty.
So I was like, okay, everybody out and I'm checking
on the Lions game, and my friend went and looked
at it. I said, hey, Syrie, what's the lion's score
and he goes the Lion's up fifteen to fourteen or whatever,
and they're looking at me like, what is going on.
(22:21):
I said, it's a bit just relax. I just need
to know what's going with Malians, Malians Malians. So yeah,
so anyway, it was a good day. But I felt
very efficient. I got all my rounds and on. My
house was nice and clean.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
But so what time was the did the last person leave?
Of the twelve people?
Speaker 1 (22:40):
I think it was seven. I think it was seven.
It was starting to get done.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
It like a group.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
There are three people left at the end, so a
couple of people trickled out, then a chunk and then
you know, and some people got there late because of traffic.
It sucks. I a couple of one came from Courtelaine,
and I felt bad because and one went to the
library and I said no, and it's at my house.
So anyway, it was fun. It was nice to have
(23:05):
everybody there, and it was good because we could really
stay as long as we needed and get it all done.
And then I started to feel like, oh man, I
don't feel so hot. Something is going on. And as
I went to bed, my nose started to burn like that,
you know, signusy burn, and my throat started to hurt,
(23:25):
and I did not sleep as well as I should have,
and I woke up this morning feeling like I got
hit by a truck. So here's the plan. Hear me out,
I'm hearing me out. After the show, the show going
up to Huckleberry's getting my magic soup. Oh, the magic
going home. I'm eating my magic soup. I'm getting back
in bed until Karate happens. I'm gonna go take Alex
(23:46):
to karate low key, take it home, back in bed.
By tomorrow, I'll be magically.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Fixed because of the magic soup and the magic rest.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Yes, and I don't have anything else going on today,
so it's uh, tomorrow we have a couple of things,
but well we have our party tomorrow night.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
But everything's going to be fine. It's going to be fine.
This is what happens to me. I get run down.
It feels like I'm going to get really sick, and
then if I have a day where I can completely
shut down, then I'm fine. It's it's those days in
a row and I'm looking down the you know, at
our week, and it's like, oh, boy, I've.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Got days in a row. Yeah, we have the we
have the event tomorrow night, which will be great, then
Thursday night, which I had a friend that texted and says, hey,
I want to have everybody over for the for the
Seahawks game, and you know, it's one of those group texts. Yeah,
so and I was I think I was at the
casino for part of it, and then driving and had
(24:43):
to swing by the store. So I didn't respond right away,
knowing that I can't make it because we're going to
the Best of Broadway shure, which Nadine had tickets for Wednesday,
but she moved into Thursday. So I get this text
and so it didn't respond well. Two other people had
responded and they said, oh, you know, we can't make it.
(25:05):
We're going to the Best of Broadway show. So then I,
you know, finally text back and said, you know, we're
actually going to that too, and then he sends us thinking.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Does everybody just go to Broadway shows instead of football?
Speaker 3 (25:20):
So so that's so it'll be the Wednesday night our event,
then the Best of Broadway Boy, then the the Better Together,
then your event, like for four things in a row,
all of them will require wine.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yeah, so you know, yeah, I'm going to see how
I feel. The one thing that I could take off
the schedule that if I need to, would be the
one at Northern Quest. I don't want to miss it,
but it's the one that would if I do it.
I'm not going to miss Tomorrow night. I'm not gonna
miss I don't have anything Thursday night, though, so I
(25:58):
have that rest.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
It'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Yeah, but Friday is a busy day because we'll be
there all day setting up and then go to that
Northern Quest thing. So I think I just have to
just have it. As long as I can get a
really good night of sleep. All of it is doable.
It's the staying up too late kind of thing. So
I think I can. I will perform my magic trick,
which is just a ton of that soup. That's all
(26:21):
I need is a lot of the soup from Hookoberries,
the Jialipeno chicken soup. Yeah, and it is magic.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
It is.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Well it's yeah, I mean it's a homemade soup that
they make. It's in the vats, so I mean, you
can't go heavy Jalipino. It's only there's not like extra
jlipenios anymore. It's spicy for me.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Don't you get to scoop a your you do.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
But there's not like active jalapenos in there. It's just
a flavoring. Oh yeah, you've had it before. Remember I
brought it for you, and you there may oh maybe,
but I go heavy on the chicken and if you
get there late. You see, everybody's been selfish and going
heavy on the chickens. A bunch of potatoes in there.
What about the Irish famine?
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Says crap.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Yeah, so so looking forward to everything, and I'm checking
the mail. I I know that Adam from Maryland is
not happy with me. No, because like Molly knows anything
about Baltimore. I didn't claim to know anything about Baltimore.
I only claimed to know about about the my Lions.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Oh, Regina brings up a good thing. Yeah, the the
Lions sacked the Ravens quarterbacks seven times. So yeah it
was seven nothing in the sack category.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
See. Yeah, my gosh, look at all these happy anniversary
Can you put your TV interview on YouTube? Yes, it
will go kind of on YouTube. Edwin asked, let's see,
oh that was yesterday. Let's see what everybody's saying, wondering
what the name of your friend Gena's vintage shop?
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (28:05):
A resaler consignment of a few things, might like did it?
Eighteen eighty nine salvage?
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Did you read Curtis's text? I think that's a good one.
I'll let you read that one.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
I think hang on a second, I'm gonna read the
nice ones. First, Virginia says, good morning. Second, wonderful year.
Denise from CDA, Happy first anniversary. You're the best. Paul says,
happy anniversary. Just saw you guys on Q six Morning Show.
Can't believe it's already been a year. Time flies when
you're having.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
Fried, it does fly.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Linda says, happy anniversary. Be proud you've done such a
good job. Thank you. Here's to many more years. Thank you.
Linda Knowles says Happy anniversary. Jill, Happy anniversary, Brian D.
Kelly send and I don't know where Curtis is is.
Kelly says, Happy anniversary. Sheila, Happy anniversary. Lauren enjoyed watching NonStop.
(28:52):
I don't see Curtis. Oh, Curtis Magdesiam equals pooping pains.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
It's true though, too.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Got the poop emoji in the pants emoji. That's brilliant.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Here's what's funny is that I went to the chiropractor
one time I had hurt my back and and this
chiropractor really believes in med and like not using pain meds,
like using natural and magnesium is a natural it will
naturally help your muscles, like it's a muscle relaxer. But
he was trying to tell me. He didn't want to say,
(29:26):
you'll crap your pants, be careful. He wanted it. So
he said, now when you're taking this amount, because you
have to take a lot in order for to help
your muscles. But he really it helped my back. He goes,
you'll want to make sure that you know your near
bathroom when the time comes, like he goes, but like,
and he was right. It was like, oh I might
have to Oh god, I have to go. And when
(29:48):
I went back, yes, he told I said, though you
weren't kidding. He said, it's really good for you. He said,
but if you're not ready for that, he said, because
it's a it's a quick exit.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
I know when you do the like for like the colonoscopy,
that chalky stuff that you drink there's there's a lot
of magnesium in that.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Oh sure, yeah, sure, but magnesium in general keeps you
kind of just it's good for you, it's good for
relaxing your muscles. But you can't you don't want to
go overboard on it. Yeah, Steve, what you guys have
been on for a year? What we are a misfortune?
Speaker 8 (30:25):
What?
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Molly how gambles? What? Oh? That's our favorite. We call
him the what guy?
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (30:33):
What? I like my favorite question? And for those of
you didn't hear as a guy I meant at the
RV park who was very enthusiastic when I said there
was a casino and he asked how far away? And
I thought, what if I say forty five minutes? His
head's can explode, But I did. He goes what I said, well,
maybe an hour?
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Still so happy.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
Oh my god, he was so happy. Such a nice guy.
What if he just came back and his wife's like,
what was that about? I don't know. Some ladiers are
rattling good. It was different Chason, Ah friends, happy anniversary thing.
Thank you guys, Oh April, happy anniversary. I know it
(31:20):
was such a road, rough road to get there, but
I got to say I love the new freedom you
have with this platform, and so glad we get to
spend the mornings with you. Thank you, Yeah, Debbie Saws
both on Q six looking good, see you tomorrow. Thank you, Cheryl,
Thank you, Michelle fifty six. You guys are very nice.
(31:42):
Thank you. Kate says we're better than ever.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
And you know, and I don't want to, you know,
I'm not going to push this too hard. But the
first anniversary, you know, like the golden anniversary that's fifty years, Okay,
We're not going to make that Silver anniversary is twenty
five years, you know. Yeah, but you know what, the
first anniversary is paper and tomorrow will be at mary Hill,
so you know, people can bring paper gifts, money money.
(32:12):
Money is a paper gift, so they can give the
gift of you know, of paper and in the form
of money.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Do you want to have a collection plate?
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Well, I.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Mean, you know, here's the thing. We've talked about this
a little bit. First of all, we need to get
our YouTube store togain. We need to get our merchandise
store together. We that is our fault. We asked you
guys what we wanted and we just haven't done. The
next step that's the way we can make money. But also,
you know, there could be a way that people subscribe
to the to the show and then you just get
(32:45):
it all like, yeah, it's tricky the way we do it.
It's tricky because in the morning, if you like to
listen in the morning, we can't take out commercials in
the morning. No, you can only do it later, and
the only subscription would be for later without commercials. Right.
I wonder if there's anybody in the country doing it
the way we're doing it. I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
No.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Don't you think that the radio people like from the
boot Camp would have been interested in our story, like, hey,
this is the wave of the future. You think they'd
want to know this stuff because radio stations could be
doing this like regular radio stations where radio is dying.
They could be doing something.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
That I don't give them any ideas.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Oh that's right, they shouldn't.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Yeah they're not.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
They can't do it the same way we can do
it very smart.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
But no, AnyWho, yeah, who yeah, and Sam and Klai
will will come up. Yeah, after we were we were
on their show this morning, then there could be on
our show later.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I do have video that their producer took from behind.
I don't know how well you'll be able to hear it,
but you'll be able to see it. I'll put it
up on YouTube right now, Okay, during the break, I'll
put it up. It'll be up early. And then I
heard that the crew from the Coast. There's a whole
bunch of my friends who go to the Coast every year.
They claim they want to try to play you in
(34:03):
cash showdowns. So if they are away, what a collection plate?
Speaker 6 (34:14):
All right?
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Go time? Yes, yes, it's our one year anniversary and
perfect time to present this to to everybody. Do you
want to exercise more?
Speaker 1 (34:27):
No? Oh okay, I mean yes I need to, Yes
I do. I will give you this secret.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Tip on how you can do that.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Yeah, it's secret. Okay, but we're going to reveal the secret.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Then it won't be secret anymore.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
And then today is the first full day of fall,
first full day of fall, so we will present to
you the best things about fall.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
People want to know, and we're the people that need
to tell them. Yes, so we'll have that. We have
a couple other things. Oh, this is kind of a
cool thing too. What food was the biggest disappointment once
you finally tried it. Oh the house whole list of those.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Kinds of I have one that I know for sure
smells better than it tastes. What is it, a waffle cone? Oh,
waffle cones smell?
Speaker 3 (35:10):
They smell yeah, good.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Way better than they actually taste. That's just my opinion.
I like to hear the fall stuff. Fall is my favorite.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Falls a good season for Spokane. U.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
I say, fall, then spring, then winter, then summer.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Yeah, I go, fall, summer, spring, winter, spring?
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Is there something nice about spring when you're coming out
of it and you know, it's kind of like with fall,
you know that first morning? This morning felt like it
where it's oh, it's good. The cold is coming. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
We were downstairs and we heard Jenny Power doing the weather.
Yeah it was thirty seven degrees I know, And I say.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
What.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Above freezing?
Speaker 1 (35:50):
What? I had to walk out and feel it, And
you were in your garage. What did I say to you?
I said, yeah, you don't know it's in your garage.
I walked out. It was chili. I had this song
late sleepless Yep, it'll heat up fast still, but yeah,
it's coming. But I like those spring days where you
can feel the change. It's like, okay, this is and
(36:12):
this summer was actually a very nice summer. It didn't
get to me. Last summer got to me. Last summer
was hot, and I think it was just also we
didn't have we weren't working so on account of Yeah,
so every day was just high hot. What are you
gonna do today? Hot? It just seemed too hot.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
All right, we'll take a break.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
We'll get to the news of the day here in
just a bit, and then we will have the showdown.
You claim that your people will be ready to go
shortly after seven.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
Yeah, well it's a pack of them, right, how many
of them?
Speaker 1 (36:46):
I don't know who will be up. They said they
were up at seven yesterday. So we'll see. I'm gonna
get a text. They'll be at least a couple. I know.
Jen is the leader of the group. Jen our friend
Jen Lance, and I saw a picture from her. She's
still try you know, she does all the marathons. She
travels around to different states, and so she was up,
took a picture of herself. You can see the beach.
Speaker 8 (37:06):
She said.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Training still happens even when I'm on vacation. So she
was out there.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
All right, We'll get to all that and more when
we return. It's a one year anniversary show. It's the
Dave and Molly Show, Live from the Numerica Studios.
Speaker 5 (37:26):

sweaters come out of hiding. Football season is in full swing.

that matter, like apple picking on a Sunday, playing in.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
I can't you know. Okay, this is how different life is. Okay,
used to be when a group of us went off
to anything like this, there was no morning time. There
was We just went to bed.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
I used to have lunch.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
I used to have to make them leave my deck
when the birds started singing, and I'd say, if the
birds start singing, you are getting out of here. I mean,
very different lifestyle that we all eat now. So now
we're all up in the morning and going for walks
and being healthy. It's just it's different.
Speaker 8 (39:53):

people and they're all real smart, so you're kind of
not it. But they win eight to seven, very close.
But you got the five dollars. They didn't. They did
(46:47):
not get the five dollars. In fact, they didn't get
any of the money. Was the question, the two dollars
question was the the word sushi. They had it, but
they went with seawood instead. It means rice. So if
you have sashimi, that's just the fish, but the sushi
then turns it into the you know so, but somebody
(47:08):
said it and then they said, oh no, let's go
with seaweed. And so that was the downfall of my friends.
But anyway, all right, Well, so you both got Orca,
you both got clockwork Orange Dave very good, five dollars
for read only memory. That was very impressive. You both
got Lake Ontario, London, and then they got Pink for
(47:30):
the thing. And then neither of you got the sushi.
And then before Christ and then it's Lincoln. He's the wrestler.
Oh yeah, I don't care if it restles, I shall
all take him down.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
I thought you were setting up for a Nixon, setting up.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
For a John. And then you both got five cents
for peanuts. Very good.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
All right, Well the good news is I won five dollars.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
So you did, and they you guys.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
And then Jen, you go, you should be the first
one on the new plaque. Yeah, for year two, we'll.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Put Jen and crew and crew. Yes, we'll put Jen
and crew that won on this fateful day, the first
day of our second year. Yeah, because the second the
other plaque ended yesterday, so that was all the first year.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
So all right. In addition to the name on the plaque,
what else do we have for Jen?
Speaker 1 (48:28):
A mug from n America Credit Union, proud sponsor of
Date Cash Showdown.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
The America Credit Union they were the leading credit union
and they sponsored a lot of Abraham Lincoln's wrestling matches. Yeah,
it's true. Not a lot of people know that. But
back in the day, there would be the big wrestling
match and then had the Numerica logo right there, and
there was Abe and he was a grappler, grabbing and
(48:53):
their wrestling and everything. And then when he would pin
his opponent right he would they do the three county
and right there and it's one two America and he's
out and then it was his opinion. That's how they
used to do it way back in the day. They
change the rules.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
A little bit. Yeah, I can see.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
That people know that.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
Well, No, it's good information to have and spread. Really
take it all the way and five free cups of
Dutch lub from Spokane's Dutch Bros. Dutch Bros. I can
just get that all for you. When you get back
from the coast. Tell us that send me text me
your info anyway so that we have it.
Speaker 8 (49:29):
Okay, I will, I will do that, and thank you
so much.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Have a great time everybody. Yes, have a great time
on the job.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
Jen.
Speaker 8 (49:38):
Thank you. Happy New Year. So glad you guys are
still around and you guys are doing awesome.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Thank you for all your support and love everybody there.
I love all of you.
Speaker 8 (49:47):
They love you too.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
Thank you. Okay, bye, Jen.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
All right, The next time we play the show down
will be tomorrow. Tomorrow be an eight o'clock start. Wednesday
tomorrow is anniversary party night, Yes at mary Hill five o'clock.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Yes, it is gonna be great. Yeah, great, all.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
Right, after a break, we're back. We'll have Sam or
and or Calli will join us. We'll also have our
entertainment news Jimmy Kimmel. Tonight's his night, his first night. Yes,
is long, almost one week suspension.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
Yeah, I'm not. I am not surprised that it happened.
Of course it happened. Of course it did.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
We'll get to all that and more when we return.
The David Molly Show continues live from the Numerica Studios.
Happy anniversary to the David Molly Show.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
Happy anniversary, d Molly.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
Happy one year anniversary, David Molly.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
The story still continues. We now returned to the David
Molly Show.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Hey, just like that, we're back. Look who's here, it's
our friend CALLI.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
Anniversary you guys, very exciting you, I mean, come on,
this is very exciting. I'm sure when you guys started
it this time last year, you knew you'd make.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
It a year.
Speaker 4 (51:10):
But did you know all that would happen in last year?
Were you surprised by anything? Did you learn anything? We
never learned anything. If we did, we wouldn't be.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
In our situation. I think that I was, I think
surprised at well. First of all, the Quinn effect that
was that was unexpected and it really mattered. He was
so great to have on at first, to have a
third person to bounce off of, and then having you
and samby such a big part of the show has
been huge.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
That's that's my thing.
Speaker 1 (51:46):
Yeah, really, wow, thank you.
Speaker 4 (51:48):
I mean that's what I was fishing for when I
was well.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Three is always better than two. I mean that just
is a mathematic equation. That's why Dave Ken of Mully
works so well. You know, having that third person is important,
but having somebody and you and Sam are alike and
so different that it's interesting to have both of you.
Speaker 10 (52:06):
Yeah, And I won't get into the whole details of it,
but and I have told some friends this, but one
of the great one of my surprises, pleasant surprize is
how great you guys have been on with us, Like like.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
We got to we got to really, uh, have you
on and have Sam on. It wasn't like, oh, it's
like they're the the news people that are going to
come on and they're going to you know where where
people and our listeners love you guys.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
Well, thank you.
Speaker 4 (52:37):
That's really sweet. And like when I asked you those
questions of like what have you enjoyed about the last year,
I was not expecting you to say me and Sam
so cool. Well, and Sam and I were talking about
it like when you guys first started, we first come
up here, we'd like, you know, collect some headlines and
then plan to present them on the show. And then
we're like, oh, no, really, we're just going to go
up and hang out. Yeah, snacks and shit, yeh.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
And that it's been fun and and and you guys
are you're you're you're entertaining people and very likable people,
so that that helps us out too. The other thing
that I that I that I'm pleasantly surprised in is
the because I knew when we started, because we had
the big, you know, big celebration at the Fox and
this big splash and everything. I I I'm so happy
(53:23):
that every month has been increased, uh listeners. That's like
it's still still building and that's that's that's pretty impressive
for a whole year.
Speaker 1 (53:34):
And that our advertisers who came with us that day
that left the other building with us, they're here and
I think they're here to stay because we're delivering what
we promised was active more than what Yeah. Yeah, So
that's a good relationship. So we're for a little lucky.
Speaker 4 (53:50):
It was funny when you guys were on the show
this morning, So you guys came on TV to with
me it's Sam. That was so crue But Molly said
to me, she goes, I can't believe you do this
every day, And I'm like, hey, no, you do it
every day. And I know the difference is someone writes
what I'm supposed to say. You guys have to like
just figure out what you're gonna talk about for three hours,
(54:11):
four hours, four hours.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
Yeah, yeah, well.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
That's about three and a half hours of content, right content.
Speaker 4 (54:17):
Yeah, And like that makes sense to have you know,
other people up too, so that, yeah, we always talk
about that, Sam, Jenny and I. It's like, you know,
one one person can be you know, like not on
their a game for whatever reason, but like there's the
other two who are like all right, like we got this,
you know, like we can all account for each other
depending on Yeah, and so that is important. And so
(54:42):
three is better than two, but two's better than one.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
Well there's that, and it's that's the difference too. Is
one of us like I'm under the weather right now,
but I wasn't gonna miss today, There's no way. And
it's not the same before if one of us were sick,
well the other two would be there. Well now, you know,
and when Dave, Dave was sick for like a week,
but we still had Quinn so he could run the board.
(55:05):
So there's still two of us. And then I count
I brought all the people in when I went on vacation.
Dave planned accordingly brought people in. But now that there's
no Quinn and it's just us. It's like if I didn't,
you know, Dave would just be hey all the going,
what would you do? What would you do if you
were already here? And then I was like, no, I'm out.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
I would start calling people.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
But you have an you have best of bits.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
Clin did one of the days it was you were out,
but it was it was I think it was a Thursday.
It was like when when you go and then you said, hey,
I can I can come up you know after that.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
And it was like, oh, that was like so that
was I was a vacation.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:45):
Yeah, I think it's only happened one time where I've
actually like last minute missed a shows. In the whole year.
We've had planned vacations, plan out ages and stuff. But
it is a little tricky because you feel like, okay,
well that's yeah. And if you were sick, I would
just be sitting here in the studio alone. I wouldn't
even I think I could figure out how to journal
(56:07):
the equipment right, but it would be I haven't done
it very much.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
So it was it was so cool to see you
guys working this morning, like being down there and everything,
and then you forget that, like you know, you're on
the set, but we're walking like we have to. Yeah,
and we're not. We weren't in a distraction.
Speaker 4 (56:27):
Yeah, well it was so I feel like when the
studio was designed, the there was a whole concept like, uh,
like a working newsroom, right, So the news desk had
the newsroom in the background, and like if you see
like a ton of different like news stations across the country,
like that's a really common set, right. Well, uh, then
(56:49):
we changed it to where we kind of faced the
green screen. But then this brand new set, which is beautiful,
we face the newsroom. So it is honestly distracting, and
we're even we're even in a space where or in
a time zone, time area where there's not even a
ton of people in the newsroom. But this is so funny.
I went to a baseball game with Jason, our general manager,
(57:13):
and we were talking about the batter's eye at any ballpark,
and it's basically like that black behind the pitchure, right,
so that the batter can focus on the ball coming.
And I was like, that's what I need. I need
a batter's eye because I see when I'm reading the
teleprompter and the camera you can see everybody behind you
(57:34):
and all that movement. So I've asked them to build
a wall, but no one's listening to me.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
That is.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
If that is true, though.
Speaker 1 (57:41):
I wonder like when you're well and we'll experience it
downstairs when we move to our new studio, when somebody
is designing a studio, if you don't actually did it
occur to you when they were designing it that that
would be the case.
Speaker 4 (57:55):
I did mention that. I said, well, then that means
we're going to be looking out towards the newsroom and
they're like yeah, yeah, I'm okay. And then and then
we have this news set and I'm like, yeah, this
is as distracting as I thought. The good news is
I've kind of gotten used to it, so you're you're
more used to it. But like I could tell you
when anyone walks into the room, like oh, so and
so just got here, so and so run into the
(58:17):
back to like the control room, like you know so
and specifically, like how you were talking about feeling under
the weather or days that you're tired, like I think
those are the days where you're like, yes, less like
more easily distracted. Yeah, exactly, So that's just something to
get used to.
Speaker 1 (58:32):
Yeah, and they get night. It would be more for
Leslie and yeah, more people here.
Speaker 4 (58:36):
Right, there's so many people in the newsroom. But you know,
maybe they can handle it better than I can. Maybe
they're spal Yes, exactly exactly.
Speaker 3 (58:43):
Even when we were kind of waiting in the wings
and they were having a stand, they say, okay, slide over,
and you guys were still you know, you're doing the
news and I think we're moving and it's like we're
right next.
Speaker 4 (58:53):
To you and right, no, I saw you come in.
You guys are like talking to Justin and then he's
like navigating you guys over And there's some elements where
you're like, yeah, you're just on like hoop fest. That
one is crazy because you're just talking the camera but
there's like thousands of people like surrounding you, but you're
supposed to be like keyed into the camera directly in
front of you. Yeah, that was so. I mean you
(59:15):
too walking into the studio distracting him like who are
these superstars? But it was nothing.
Speaker 1 (59:21):
That's what everybody was saying. I would think too, for
hearing stuff in your ear, that would be very hard too. Okay,
well we're going to go to camera three. Okay, well,
no way have breaking news and you're talking and reading
and hearings.
Speaker 4 (59:38):
Yeah, and it's usually pretty rare when the producer has
to talk to you while you're talking. That doesn't happen
every day. But yeah, it's funny when you know they
talk to you during commercial breaks or like when Jenny's
doing weather, they'll be telling us something in our ear.
So yeah, like when you guys were there and I'm
telling you, I'm kind of navigating. You guys were to stand,
(59:58):
but you guys don't have an if be hearing anybody,
So like I'm talking to you, but then talking to
those guys.
Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
So do you always hear this? Do you and Sam
always hear the same thing? Or can they talk to
the individual?
Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
Yeah, they can talk to us individually.
Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
Okay, so they can say, Clyde, don't tell sampit he
just messed up the work. But just don't just look over. Okay,
now you're staring. You're staring. What did you say today?
You said you were so funny, you Golan, and then
you were on the air when you said.
Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
You were supposed to say Chenie, but.
Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
You were still on the air when you said, yes,
all right, it's Chenie.
Speaker 8 (01:00:32):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (01:00:33):
Yeah, the prompter said Spokane County, and we knew they
were in Chinie. So that's what I meant to say
when I just said Shelane. And then I'm like, I
don't know, I said that you're no one's in Chenie.
It was the che that really threw me off.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Maybe yeah, that's that's funny.
Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
And then we were we were talking yesterday about joining
you guys, and then we're saying, Okay, what are you
guys going to wear? I got a text from Sam
this morning and I didn't catch it right in time,
but here it is. Uh, this is hilarious because he
obviously was a voice text, so I'm going to read
it exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
As yes, okay, okay, what time did he send it?
Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
At? Two?
Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
My god, that was one minute before I woke up? Yes,
So that makes me think his alarm is two fifteen,
if I had to guess. I'm surprised that I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
It must have been like the first thing he did.
But but I'll show it to you and it's like
it says, hey, Dave, and then there are three dots
and then it says dot dot dot. Here are the
colors Kali and Jenny are wearing today, dot dot dot
spelled out. Then there are three dots, you know, so
it's he's got the dots. And then he says dots right,
(01:01:55):
and then there's more dots.
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
I'll go with the navy suit with a tie to
match Kali. Dot dot dot. I don't exactly. I don't
exactly what golden rod is. Question mark. It spells out
question mark. I say where you're blue and you'll look great,
(01:02:21):
exclamation point times three, then double fist pump spelled out
in here it's it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
You two thirty in the morning.
Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
Yeah, so he must have it must it's a it's
a voice text, but there are the dot dot dots
he has in there, but then it still shows up
as dot dot.
Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
It says do T D O T. Yeah, that's hard
because I do that when I'm voice texting. I'll say
dot dot dot, but it's a period period, it's a symbol.
But I'm looking at text from Sam right now to
just be like, does he use well, what is it,
dot dot dot ellipsey? Does he use ellipses like a
lot And I don't have a single one on this
whole text thread.
Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
So maybe he's doing a bit. Maybe he was, you know,
being funny because I do that all the time. They
used to tease me about that because I would always say,
you know, and we'll be there at whatever time. Dot
dot dot and and the and now.
Speaker 5 (01:03:14):
Everybody uses everybody does that the voice they voice text
the dot dot dot Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Dave, this is Dave. Elle hear them over there? Hey, yeah,
all good. Also wondering question mark question mark? Question mark?
Is the is the wine going to be the question mark?
Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Thanks, love twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
Love to all. Do you guys ever do that when
you call a voicemail like you forget I've done And
luckily sometimes that will be a thing at the end
of the voicemail that says to send this message, you
can do this to uh re record, you can do
and this like oh okay, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
Yeah, but I have done that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
Yeah, you're talking to the recording and then you're just
saying dot and then someone's gonna hear you doing the thing. Yeah,
so most people know, Like because it's a common question
people ask us is do you guys plan your colors?
So yes, I said I was wearing yellow slash golden rod.
Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
Golden rod.
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
Yes, that's right.
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Jenny was wearing like a navy blue navy.
Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
Yeah. So it's usually like one person says their color
and then everyone else just compliments it, got it or
goes nous is what we say is short for neutral.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Yeah, and does does he ever pick his color first?
Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
We've given him the opportunity. Uh, And it's fine. He
usually does not care. But then like one day we
were both noo, me and Jenny, and so we're like, oh, Sam,
go pick whatever you want. He has like over one
hundred ties and then yeah, so he like picks one
and I'm like, okay, but not that one.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
I don't remember why.
Speaker 4 (01:04:59):
Because I like all of his ties. But it was
just so funny because it was like, oh, yeah, we're
finally letting you choose what you want to wear, and
then like.
Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
That it's fun except yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
I told him I was wearing my celebration confetti shirt.
Speaker 7 (01:05:18):
Shirt.
Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
Yeah. It's kind you know because the anniversary, know.
Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
Lots of times you guys decorate in here, why don't
you decorate today?
Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
I actually thought.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
About that tired we thought maybe other people would decorate
for yeah, because you're bringing us a cake or some
kind of celebration.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
If it's Day's thing, you would do it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
Oh oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (01:05:36):
So basically Sam and I failed you. The only other
people in the building to do it would be Quinn.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Well, I don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:05:43):
And you guys don't have a boss, like your boss
can't tell you. Yeah, you guys are your own bosses.
Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
We're celebrating tomorrow night, celebrating.
Speaker 4 (01:05:52):
Ad buys all the Christmas presents and celebrates everybody, and
then it's her birthday and no one does anything.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
We were supposed to do some big old thing just
kind of got downgraded to a party. I think it
is downgraded to a party vacation. There were some big
plans and there was drones and all kinds of stuff.
We had talked about doing a big thing. But I
think there's a lot going on. And I think this
based on how I feel right now, I think this
(01:06:17):
is way better. It's a busy week. It's a busy week.
Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
Well, our celebration got downgraded to a party.
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
Couple hundred people there gathering.
Speaker 4 (01:06:31):
Yeah, how does that work? Is it open to the
gen pope?
Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
Oh cool, that's why.
Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
And uh, you know, pull the curtain back off the
air before we went on the air together. I was
trying a strong arm Collie into coming to our event. Yes,
but she already has an event.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Yeah, I have a happy hour at my house tomorrow afternoon.
And you're like, we'll come after what timing?
Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
What time is your happy hour start?
Speaker 4 (01:06:56):
My happy hour is it three? But this group of friends,
they'll some of them can only get there till three thirty,
so most of them will probably get there three thirty,
and then we like plan I'll say, like, okay, three
thirty to five thirty, that's how much time I have.
But really that if five thirty is the gold, then
that means we'll probably go to six thirty or seven.
(01:07:17):
But you were saying, and then you go right to
bed after that, A yeah, get ready for bed, so
I'd be in bed by eight. But you were saying, like, no,
if the happy hour is done at like five five thirty,
like you should come down, and I said, probably not.
Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
And then he said, which I've never seen such a
generous software. He's going to uber you. He's going to
hire a car. That's how important it is to bring
you down a car.
Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
I feel like, Oh my gosh, I'm like, this is
next level status. Somebody is sending a car for me.
Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
I don't even know how that's going to work.
Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
It doesn't have any money, don't buy it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Well, that's okay, because, like I told you, five dollars,
that's five dollars.
Speaker 4 (01:07:57):
I live pretty deep. I think the cheapest I've ever
had it on the rates was like thirteen bucks. But
that was like a very very cheap rate to go
where to my house from downtown?
Speaker 1 (01:08:07):
You got to your house from thir I've had it
be it's thirteen bucks for me to get downtown from
my house, not.
Speaker 4 (01:08:13):
Only it's mine as closer to forty. Yeah, but that's
why I said to you, I said probably not, which
to me sounded honestly, And I said, I said, but
isn't that more refreshing than saying maybe? Knowing that I'm
not going to everyone says maybe, and you know you're not.
So honesty is kindness, Dave.
Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
We just don't want It's true.
Speaker 3 (01:08:36):
Sam, Sam's going to come.
Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
Yeah, Well, Sam was a happy hour at his house.
Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
He will not he will be there. Sam will be Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
Sam is a guy who will He says he'll be there,
he'll be there.
Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
Did he say he was going to be there or
he say he was looking into it and he was
going to talk to state.
Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Well, I think he's going to be there.
Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
About you five dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
He doesn't show up, I will bet you five.
Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Dollars five dollars, Okay, Then what I'm going.
Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
I'm going to go to Sam and say I'll give
you five dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:09:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
Yeah, you should be like, I'll give you two fifty
and then you guys will both make two fifty on it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
That's idea, Is that right?
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
Yeah? No, I know people who say maybe and I'm like,
they're not coming.
Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Uh, but you have an excuse though, you have you
have an event and you get up super early.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
Honestly, if you would have told me last week inviting
me last week, I totally would.
Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
Have come out said something sooner.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Yeah, that's on us.
Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
So then that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:27):
Although we didn't really know this, didn't get locked in
until the last Yeah it was it was late last week.
Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
Yeah, yeah, because I mean seven o'clock for our schedule
is not too late. It's the parties that start at seven.
You're like, yeah, but for you guys, I could have
done it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
How many people are going to your happy hour?
Speaker 8 (01:09:47):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
There? We call them the tall friends because once five
eight and then the other two are like five ten
or five eleven. So my tall friend's just three jeez.
Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
Yeah, so between them, but you're like Amazon women.
Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
I mean that's it's like I'm not used to, like
I'm used to looking down on people, and I like
it about metaphorically and literally. That means you guys, figure
out what I mean by that. Yeah, So I'm like, wait,
hold on, like they're actually our boys are all friends,
and I'm like, wait, all these moms are tall, and
(01:10:20):
all these moms are cool, they should be my tall friends. Yeah.
So anyway, three tall friends are coming over.
Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
And do your friends listen to the show?
Speaker 4 (01:10:31):
No? Okay, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
My friends don't either.
Speaker 4 (01:10:35):
I don't know the answer to that. I mean, no,
they don't want some of the news. I know they
don't watch TV, but they might listen to David Molly.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
It's funny when we were having this conversation because like
a whole bunch of my friends called in this morning
from the coast. They were all on the coast, and
they played Dave's Cash showdown together and they're all listening
and Jen listens all the time, my friend Pat and Heather,
but we somebody mentioned something that was if you listened
to the show, you would definitely know about it. And
two of my like best friends had no idea what
(01:11:02):
they're talking like, never listening to the show.
Speaker 4 (01:11:04):
Yeah, no idea, but.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
It keeps up fresh because they don't know what's going
on with me. But my other friend, Heather, she's she'll say,
I haven't talked to you in two weeks, but I
feel like I know everything that's happening with you because
they're catching up.
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
You know, my good friend who I only see like seasonally,
like we'll ski together. And then she's my dental hygienist.
She watches the news and so like I feel like
I don't see her enough. And she's like, oh, I
feel like I see you every day, Like okay, well
I need to see you.
Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
That's a chemical all morning without saying good morning because
he's been listening, and then he'll say hello round nine, Hello, Hello,
are you there? Oh I've been listening all the morning. Well,
and this is I think this is pretty cute. Like
when I first was on TV, I was an intern
at cap in Yakima, and like the only thing I
(01:11:51):
would do would be like I would get to read
the teases, Like at the end of the five o'clock
I would get to be on TV and I would
get to read the teases for this show that was
coming up that night at six pm.
Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
And Robbie would watch like the whole broadcast just to
see me thirty seconds, which I thought was so cute,
and like, I gotta tell you the last time he
watched the morning show, I cannot tell you. And then
like even Justin Spinney is our meteorologist at ten and eleven.
He's at KOUG. He's been here for years. He's so talented.
(01:12:22):
And we happened to be at my parents' house and
the TV was on and Justin came up and Robbie goes,
who's that? And I'm like, how do you not know
Justin Spinney? He's a meteorologist and he's a Koug and
he's super cool. My Dad's like, do you hear that
he's a Koog and super cool? He is, But I
can't believe you don't know who he is.
Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
So you know, he's a nice guy. He was one
of the guys that filmed our Fox thing that we did.
He came with Leslie and yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
Was he shooting? I think so, yeah, that's the other thing.
He's multi talented.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
Photographer, reporter, really good guy.
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
And I like the name Justin Spinney.
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
I know, yeah, that's a good name.
Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
Yeah, And like he has this franchise now Spinny and Space,
and so I assume it has to do with like
just anything happening up there, which is.
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
Cool because I probably I feel like.
Speaker 4 (01:13:22):
Cage q' is good at like branding people with like
uh like a segment or something along those lines, right,
So obviously like he would be the guy to do it.
But it was funny because a couple of years ago,
I went to the Houston Space Center. Uh well, I
went to Houston to the Space Center and I met
Am McClain and like we talked about her going to
(01:13:46):
space and so ever since then, it's been a joke
like between Sam, Jenny and I that like I'm the
space expert in the newsroom and like like anything or
anything about Anne McLain. The Spokane native was like like hey, guys,
like just let me handle it. It's been the joke.
So then we found out Spinny's doing Spinny and Space.
I'm like, what, I'm the expert here? Why does he
(01:14:08):
get to do that?
Speaker 8 (01:14:10):
Rude?
Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
But also, I mean he is a meteorologist and he
probably knows what he's talking about. I just got a
signed to go to Houston, which was cool and fun.
Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
But what's happening with Saturn? What's the big right? What
is that our neptune?
Speaker 4 (01:14:24):
Are you guys talking about the story.
Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
From this morning that you read right before we came.
Speaker 4 (01:14:28):
On the big What did I say?
Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
Blue gas ball?
Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
Gas mask or gas ball?
Speaker 1 (01:14:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
Yeah? So like this is how much of an expert
I am. I go to Jenny, I go, is it
blue gas or is it planet? It was? I said,
is it blue gas planet? Like the gas is blue?
Or is it blue gas planet? Oh right, I don't
know too bad. Spinny wasn't here. I could ask Spinny
and Space.
Speaker 1 (01:14:58):
He would know. That's why you don't have.
Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
Your own sh And we know that it's super windy.
Speaker 4 (01:15:03):
Yes, yeah, fifteen hundred miles an hour, they said so,
and then and then oh.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
The Morning Show laughed and laughed when they said, I
wonder because it's one hundred and sixty five years years
to orbit, and then he wondered if you would age
more slowly?
Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
See we watch you guys.
Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
Oh my gosh, yeah, because you guys were standing there
waiting for you. But like I said, well, like I said,
I I don't watch it if I'm not working it like, oh, do.
Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
You ever listen to this show? Later? No?
Speaker 4 (01:15:38):
No, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
You're on it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
I listen. I listened to like news. Wise, I'll listen
to the six PM, the eleven PM and then nightly Nance.
Speaker 1 (01:15:50):
Okay, the eleven PM, but you're asleep on my way
to work on a NonStop local app you can download
for free.
Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
That's where we are.
Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
Yeah, exactly, great. Just don't get distracted, like I need
to not get distracted though when I go to the
eleven PM newscast, I need did not click on the
icon that says listen to David Molly.
Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
Yes, so how long? How long is your drive?
Speaker 4 (01:16:13):
Twenty minutes?
Speaker 3 (01:16:14):
Okay, Well so you can almost hear that you can
almost get a whole newscast in there.
Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
Yeah I do. It's like I have it timed exactly,
like the A block, which is like the first segment
of the eleven PM news is done right when I
get to the Spokane Convention Center and then I have
a moment for a song to uplift as I drive.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
A costume the song or is it just a random.
Speaker 4 (01:16:35):
I try to listen to like a song with like
inspiring lyrics, and then I arrive at work.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Do do all your hair makeup at home? No?
Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
I do it here. Like my hair, yeah, my hair
is ready to be curled. It's like prepared, you know
what I mean, Like you like it's blow driving. Yeah
like that. But my makeup and hair it takes. Yeah,
it only takes and I were my clothes to work.
It takes like fifteen minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
There you go. I think that lighting is a little
You need better lighting down there.
Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
Are you serious?
Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
Yeah? I think it hit more lighting in that in
that dressing room.
Speaker 3 (01:17:15):
Oh yeah yeah in the dressing room.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
Yeah, in the dressing room. No, though the lighting on
the set is fantastic, even Osier who's looked all right,
that's so nice.
Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
Yeah, yeah, the dress the dressing room is like weird,
it's just overhead lighting. I think, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
The things, but it's like you want the I was
talking to the young gallon there and I said, I'm
old I want the kind that actually washes you out
to the point but only see your eyes.
Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
No, she doesn't have a nose. I just see like
stress is amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
During during COVID, I had to do Virtual Working Women's Wednesday,
and the first view I did, I didn't understand why
everybody looks so amazing and I looked so bad. And
then I realized they all had these ring lights. So
then I get the ring light, and I mean I
blasted it and sometimes I just looked like a floating
head because I was washing all of the wrinkles way.
(01:18:08):
But that was a big That was a game changer.
And I noticed even people who are just on office
meetings and it's no, they still use the ring light.
Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
Is that right?
Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
Oh yeah, you walk by people's desks and yeah they
have the ring light on. Oh sure, I think you
just eliminate. I think it's a more friendly look. It's like, oh,
look i'm here and there's light and.
Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
Yeah yeah, Versus when you accidentally open your camera facing
you you're looking down startling images.
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Yeah like chin there, Yes, story of my life. People
are saying they love Spinny. Yes, Marie says, love Spinny.
April sending let's see, Oh we're talking about it was
the last time you had a Twinkie? Oh? I don't know,
(01:19:00):
because April said that. Hostess went through major two major
bankruptcies in four in twenty four and twelve, eventually leading
to liquidation. After Iconic's Next disappeared from the shelf first
short time, the company brand was bought. Company's brand and
assets were bought by new owners JM. Smucker Company, and
(01:19:20):
then they reincarnated that that's why it's different.
Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
Yeah, that makes me feel better because when I had
one the other day, it was not what I remember
as a kid.
Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
So like the original recipe or whatever they used to make,
say what before they went through or before they got bought,
it was different. Oh yeah, why would you change a
good thing?
Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
I don't know, but it just it was. It was.
It was bland. It was just like, well, that's if
I'm only gonna have one Twinkie every ten or fifteen years. Yeah,
you wanted to be like, oh man, that was good.
Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
And haven't you heard that Twinkie has like a crazy
shelf life.
Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
Sure I've heard too.
Speaker 4 (01:19:54):
If we would have known they wanted to change the recipe,
we should have just one years ago. Yeah, dang it.
Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
Somebody said that you should be just hitchhike to our party.
Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
Oh, I mean I have been, have done that.
Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
I have hitchhike. I'll tell you what though, Like in
the summer along Rudder Parkway while kayaking in the middle
of the day is different than division at three a m.
Speaker 1 (01:20:22):
Yes, well, yeah, no one, Well we're talking about No,
we're talking about we're talking about hitchhiking in the Yeah,
you're right.
Speaker 4 (01:20:30):
Excuse me. I was thinking hitchhiking into work, you're party.
Why would I hitchhike if someone's sending me a car, Yeah,
and Dave and Okay, he's sending me a car. And
can me and all the tall friends fit? Probably?
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
Yeah, I just need like the excel.
Speaker 4 (01:20:48):
Can you send the excel?
Speaker 1 (01:20:50):
Can you send the excel?
Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
You say, and we'll put well business.
Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
Uh, don't bring me into this.
Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
I think people would want to see you. I know
they want to see Sam. They would love to see you.
It's like because you guys are you know, you're you're
on here and people have multiple people have commented that
they love your stories, your life stories, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:21:13):
Yeah, and this is Sam and I both talked about it.
It's been fun to run into people in public and
they say, oh, we listened to you and David Molly. Oh,
like all I would say, almost as much as oh
we watch you on TV is oh I heard you
on David Molly talking about this. That's god, it is cool. Okay,
tell me what else the party entels besides two lovely hosts.
Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
Nothing, nothing, but not really even it's.
Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
Just uh uh, it's just going to be like a gathering.
It's at mary Hill.
Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
And oh yes, so I'm supplying food for well at last,
well supply is less okay because I want some money
at the jackpot or at the casino the other day,
so I said, I have my food.
Speaker 4 (01:21:55):
So it's like an open it's an open house party celebration.
Speaker 3 (01:21:58):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
You can stop, buy one to give away. And tomorrow's
Wannes Day? Is that is the street fair still happening
down there?
Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
I believe so it is.
Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
I think after Labor Day it goes way. Oh that'll
be a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
Of the market.
Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
Yeah, but that would be that's a logical ending. Maybe
they do Maybe they just go till Labor Day. Yeah,
I thought that they can do through September.
Speaker 4 (01:22:26):
Could be yeah, because Basically, I'm always like food while
supplies last for people who are there for our party,
not if you're just at the market and you happen
to come in.
Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
No, right, oh yeah it's it's says it's May twenty
first through September seventeenth, So this is actually the first
week without the market, okay, which makes sense because that's
when we were able to you know that. I think
that will help our cause a little bit. Parking will
be easier and stuff. And yeah, that's true. We don't
(01:22:56):
just have it like, oh, everybody can.
Speaker 4 (01:22:58):
Eat food I have, yes, I'm sorry, No, that's it.
I have a hot tip though.
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:23:03):
I feel like you're like your plates should be small.
They are small, Okay, good because I always go back
to the frogio places that give you one size and
you feel you don't want that much, but you're like, oh,
there's one size, I'm supposed to fill it up. So
if you have a banquet like a China banquet plate,
people are gonna fill it up.
Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
So I feel like if you have I hate the
word nibbles, but if you have nibbles, so gross, so gross.
Speaker 1 (01:23:31):
I don't like nibbles.
Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
I don't even know I said that, I hate that word.
That's so gross. I said that at appetizers, like, yeah,
a small plate is fitting. And then and then once
me and the tall friends get there, there might still
be some bites and nibbles left after they send the car.
Speaker 3 (01:23:47):
Now the tall friends do, they have to get up early.
Speaker 4 (01:23:51):
There and they're night owls compared to me. So like,
we went up to one of the tall friends like
places a couple of weeks ago, and like it's ten
thirty in them, like just sleeping on the couch and
everyone's like having great conversation. I'm like, I really want
to be here, so like my eyes are closed. Maybe
I'm listening, maybe I'm not, but maybe I am.
Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
So just I don't say anything.
Speaker 4 (01:24:16):
No, you actually think it might have even been Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
That's hard. You don't and you don't want to get
days that kept me and you don't want to get
too far into that other world when you have to
go right back to it Sunday, So you know, you dabble.
But we were just talking to my friends who were
on the coast, and I was telling Dave that it
used to be those very same friends. I would have
to kick off my deck when the birds started chirping.
(01:24:39):
It was when I was I wasn't working mornings. I
think I was doing mid days then, so it was
a little different, but that was the rule in the summer,
because you know, they start at four am chirping, and
I now they were all up at seven am. They're
on vacation, they're all playing a trivia game, they're all
they were in bed by eight, the same group of people.
But the life coats on. Yeah, you can only do
(01:25:01):
that for so long.
Speaker 4 (01:25:02):
Oh yeah, And it's funny. It's like and I don't
know if it has to do with our life, but
probably also our age, but like it makes me of course,
if like we're out having a crazy fun night, we're
out like just partying, like that's one thing, but just
to stay up hanging out until two am, I'm like, yes,
(01:25:22):
I can't.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
Slipping on wine and conversation, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:25:25):
Yes, yes, or like yeah at my house and Robbie can.
Robbie can stay up and hang out and I'm like, okay,
I'm going Then is.
Speaker 3 (01:25:33):
He a wine person or a beer person?
Speaker 4 (01:25:36):
He's trying to drink less gluten so more wine or ciders?
Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
Oh, ciders. Ciders are big right now, there's a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
Of gluten and beer.
Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
Yeah, because it's wheat.
Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
Oh, what's the problem with luten?
Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
I don't know. He gets inflamed. Not to get too personal, doctor,
so I can talk about no hippa for me, right,
that's right. Yeah, I don't know. You know, the trend,
it's like the glass gluten the better.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
Well, and then what that is is you know, because
that's been a thing over the last like twenty some
years or whatever, like more and more people say I
need to be gluten free, and it's the wheat hasn't changed.
It's all the stuff that they've the pesticides for the wheat,
and that really is a thing. So it can mess
with people.
Speaker 4 (01:26:23):
Yeah, I mean, and like if you go to like
a functional medicine doctor or a nutritionist, I'll say, like
the functional medicine doctor, I know, which is basically like
you're not an aturopath, You're not like western medicine, you're
like kind of right there in the middle. She says,
like she always blames everything on sugar, dairy, and gluten,
And you hear that a lot, like those three things,
and there are a lot of times where people can
(01:26:44):
eliminate that from their diet or decrease the amount that
you intake and feel a lot better.
Speaker 1 (01:26:51):
So if she feels that way, how does she feel
about alcohol, nicotine and constant ambling. That's got to be on.
Speaker 4 (01:27:01):
Yeah, to be honest, she likes to drink, so she's
always trying to figure out a way to decrease inflammation
by those other categories I just mentioned. So you can
still have some kind of like carbs and sugar in
your alcohol.
Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
You go michelo light. I picked a wine out for
the event, and it's a French wine. It has less
of the it doesn't have the tannins in oh yeah,
so I think people are gonna be happy. It still
has a nice, bold, rich taste, but it doesn't have
the same stuff because it's from France and so here.
Speaker 4 (01:27:34):
Yeah. I mean it's so funny. I know so many friends,
and I think it's probably normal when you get older,
like who can't drink wine anymore? Yeah, and they're so
sad and like I've even seen like they're selling like
drops that you can put in your.
Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
There's a tampon thing that they have that my friend
Mary would try it because we would go to wine tasting.
She doesn't drink anymore, but when she did, all ninety
percent of the wine tasting is red, and then a
couple of whites on either end, and she only used
to drink white wine because of exactly then, so she
had They had this thing you could float in the
glass and it would take those things out, supposedly.
Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
So by tampon, you mean it just looked like one. Yeah, okay,
although it could have just been a real one. Why
why go fancy it was the thing you'd float. They
didn't call it that. They called it a wand to
remove a wand or.
Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
Why did you call it?
Speaker 11 (01:28:20):
I just wanted clarity for everybody, because that's what it
reminded me of. Member, I know, and it's like I
do think, and this hasn't happened to me yet, but
I'm like, I do think, Like if your body is
telling you like this doesn't make you feel good, you
should stop, Like you shouldn't just have to like go
find drops in something that looks like it.
Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
Stop. But I'm saying that pre that happening to me.
Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
What is your drink of choice?
Speaker 4 (01:28:50):
I like a hazy ipa. I do like cabs, cabsbs.
I like Stavignon blancs in the summer, and then I
like tequila and gin as my spirit of choice. Okay,
I think vodka like it just doesn't have a taste
to me, so I don't really enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
What do you what do you mix with your tequila
or do you it's great?
Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
It's kind of like a ranch water a little bit,
so it's a whole lime. It's like a tumbler stacked
with ice, a whole lime. I try to get two
shots of tequila in there, but my glass always overflows.
So if I'm like, I should be putting a shot
and a half of tequila, then water and then like
a little bit of a gave syrup.
Speaker 3 (01:29:34):
Okay, so like.
Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
You could call it a skinny margarita or the ranch
water is like kind of essentially like a what do
they call it? Tequila soda with lime? What kind of
tequila I'm not picking, usually blanco of some sort. But
like I'm all good with the cost Kirkland brand.
Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
The Kirklan brand is actually pretty good. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:29:53):
And then gin and tonics lately, but I'll like do
half tonic half soda water.
Speaker 1 (01:29:58):
Yeah, I don't like the to the tonic gives me
a headache.
Speaker 4 (01:30:01):
Yeah, I don't know what it is.
Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
Soda like soda.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
Yeah, that's that's my golf course drink.
Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
I like that with a splash of crayon and a lime,
just to get a little bit of.
Speaker 4 (01:30:13):
I do love that. And then in the winter with
a sprig of rosemary.
Speaker 1 (01:30:17):
Oh, look at you. There was a time where I
was making and it was no wonder I gained so
much weight. But it was this. I saw this thing
on Facebook and it was a rumchatta, you know, the
white it's like a white liqueur, and so you mix
rumchatta with I think it was coconut. It was vanilla,
(01:30:38):
some kind of flavored vodka, caramel vodka, I think, and that,
and then you put sugar and caramel around the room
and you pour caramel in and then you shake it
up on a shaker and you drink it. And I
would have these like during the holidays every night, and
pretty soon nothing was fitting, can't I because they were
just pure sugar and not even I mean it would
(01:30:58):
pack a little bit of a punch, but I had
I had to put those away.
Speaker 4 (01:31:02):
This sugary Yeah, like all that sounds like it would
be good, like mixed like as the sweetener part. Like
you take that as like I poured over something right,
something right.
Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
Yeah, Zach says Hazy IPA's exclamation point. You just went
to the top of my favorite news reporters.
Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Oh way back.
Speaker 4 (01:31:25):
Ask him what his favorite kind is. I just went
to the for the first time. It's across from Dix
on Third and it's a brewery right there, which I
never would have known about it, but it was my
friend's favorite. And they have something just called the Summer
I pa oh, and it's delicious, simple as a summer
I PA.
Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
Just wants to know if Mike Ken is bringing his
famous crackers tomorrow. Ooh, I do not know. If he
saltea Oh no, he makes crackers from scratch. He makes
salarre pretty good. Yeah, I thought some of the other Yeah,
I don't know. He makes sour o' crackers because he
makes sour o bread. But it's easier. It's not the
same process, so you just flatten it out and then they're.
Speaker 3 (01:32:09):
Perfect wine cracker. Like it's like if all the things
to have wine with, that's top.
Speaker 4 (01:32:16):
Okay. I could have had him and not realize that
they were made.
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
Came in and you have some saltines.
Speaker 4 (01:32:24):
No, well, it's like I'm thinking of we've had someone
downstairs who made like saltines, but they have like you
basically like bake them with like butter and a bunch
of seasoning. Does that sound familiar?
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
Oh yeah, they do the everything but the season so
it comes up.
Speaker 4 (01:32:39):
Yeah. So but that's not him.
Speaker 1 (01:32:41):
No, he makes very sourdough.
Speaker 3 (01:32:44):
Uh, it's the remaining parts of sour dough bread, right.
Speaker 1 (01:32:48):
I think so the starters.
Speaker 3 (01:32:50):
Stuff flattens it out and then turns them into.
Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
He's listening right now, So you guys don't even know
the process. Never listened to me. That is not how
it works.
Speaker 4 (01:32:59):
And then like also he's like, and how many do
you have to make for the p That's going to
be a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:33:04):
There's they're fantastic wine crackers.
Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
Yeah. He's going to be there tomorrow night, so that'll
be good. He'll be chatting it up with the people.
Speaker 4 (01:33:11):
Well, what time should I tell the tall friends to
have be ready for the car for the Excel.
Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
If it happens whenever, whenever you want.
Speaker 4 (01:33:20):
Just text me dot dot dot to let me know
what time dot dot.
Speaker 3 (01:33:27):
Nice group of people, and I know, like Nadine. She's
excited because she says, you know, I always hear you
guys reference the text line people and she says, I
want to put a name to the face, you know.
And there's a lot of people like that. We you know,
we had our firing party and that was that was
back in June, and so we had some of those people.
But this is this will be Yeah, this is another
(01:33:49):
one of those. And I love seeing people. I have
a reason we just celebrate.
Speaker 4 (01:33:54):
Yeah, And it's fun to like meet people to know
like you're not you're alone, you know, like you're in
a room together. But like it's fun to like then
like no, oh, people are up with us and like
put a face to the names or the listener numbers.
Speaker 3 (01:34:08):
And it's cool when they connect. Yeah, oh I met
you know so and so, and then they become friends.
But they're friends because of us. That's cool. That's that's
a very nice thing.
Speaker 1 (01:34:22):
The weekend of my yard sale, I was at Safeway
and I heard somebody say, is that Maul's Allan or
Molly Allan? And it was mister Ed And mister Ed
was wearing a shirt from our old station, and he
looked at me and he's like, ah, he goes, I
can't believe of all the days I would run into
you while I'm wearing this, and I said, master ed,
(01:34:43):
he goes, No, it's my crap shirts. See they're stuff
all over it. It's I'm painting and that's why I'm
wearing it, and he's trying to cover it up. So
then we kept running into each other at all the
different places. We were both getting donuts and we were
both doing this and doing that. But it's great to
see him out in the wild, just like, hey, you know,
go in the wild, wor yeah, in the wild.
Speaker 4 (01:35:02):
All right, Well, congratulations on one near you guys. Thanks, Yeah,
today it's been fun.
Speaker 1 (01:35:08):
Yeah, thank you for having us songs. Fine another year,
you know what, when we're downstairs, it'll be fun. We
can check in more and check him with Jenny too.
We're talking about like how it's hard because she has
to do those breaks where she only had five or
ten minutes. She can quickly come in and see us
and be right there on the set. It's going to
be a whole new deal down there.
Speaker 3 (01:35:29):
Hey. Enchantments by Icicle Brewery is his favorite from Latin Worth.
Do you know of that?
Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
Yep, I've got a six pack in my fridge right now.
Speaker 8 (01:35:37):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:35:38):
I think they sell them like they're a little bit
bigger too, like they're sixteen ounces. I think at Costco
and then might actually I think that Costco they only
saw a four pack. Anyway, I got you, Zach. I
love that one.
Speaker 1 (01:35:48):
Ill likes the ip a fluffy puffy from Yaya. Have
you ever been to Yaya?
Speaker 4 (01:35:52):
I haven't been to Yaya, but oh be there.
Speaker 1 (01:35:54):
That they're such sweet guys too. That's a great story
and a great brewery. That's it. Ken hangs out there
a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:36:00):
And that's the thing like I'm thinking of, like, oh,
it would be so fun to do like a brewery tour,
but I don't. I don't like to have more than
two I PA's at one time, like you feel so floaded? Yes, yes, yes,
if I get to three, I'm going straight to bed afterwards.
Speaker 5 (01:36:21):
By all right, we still need to get to entertainment news.
We have not yet done that.
Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
We have our hot topic as well, and then we
can also reflect on our one year anniversary. Yeah, since
today is the anniversary date, this was the day we
all started. That's right, the other a year ago.
Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
We need quinnen here, where's clinicals? We need? We? You
know what, I'd like to talk to Quinn about what
he thought we were going to be like compared to
what we actually were, because he didn't really listen to
our show. He didn't grow up here, so he didn't
know about us really, so he hadn't He really didn't
know anything. And then and then at what point he thought, oh,
(01:37:00):
they're pretty funny and did he worry that he was?
And we're too old arts, you know, and he's like
a young, cool guy, so I think that would be
fun to know.
Speaker 12 (01:37:10):
Yeah, and we got so lucky with him because oh yeah,
you know, yes, for sure, he fit.
Speaker 3 (01:37:15):
Right in and he appreciated us.
Speaker 12 (01:37:18):
Yeah, and we truly appreciated the other thing I wanted
to do just because it's the anniversary day, because we
have all you know, we have all the listeners, we
have the power two hundred and all that kind of stuff,
But like, who who is.
Speaker 3 (01:37:29):
Our newest listener? Meaning somebody that maybe they just moved
to the area, or maybe they or maybe they're not
even in our area, but they only started listening since
we started the new show and then or maybe they
heard a couple of podcasts and then maybe they decided
to tune in and hear live, Like what I want
(01:37:50):
to hear that story? Yeah, like how do they how
do they find us?
Speaker 1 (01:37:53):
And I want to know if jenn and Alisha had
already drunk this morning.
Speaker 3 (01:37:57):
Oh I think that's all I mean is it's past.
Speaker 1 (01:38:01):
That's true, But it is a Tuesday.
Speaker 5 (01:38:03):
I think we talked to him on a on a
you know, a Tuesday or Thursday after seven when they
were playing the game.
Speaker 1 (01:38:08):
And right they have drinks in hand from last night,
from the night before. All right, well yeah, uh Texas.
Somebody says the app is the app is giving them
trouble this morning. But the text line if you are new,
we have a new sounder that says it. But it's
five o nine four four eight three two three seven
and text as sune, don't.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
You want this?
Speaker 2 (01:38:30):
Here is the Dutch Bros. Text line five oh nine
four four eight three two three seven. Five oh nine
four four eight three two three seven.
Speaker 3 (01:38:42):
You hear all the stuff going on in there.
Speaker 1 (01:38:44):
There was a lot of phone lines and there's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
It's funky music.
Speaker 1 (01:38:48):
Uh huh, Yeah, there's some fun stuff in there that
can put together for us.
Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
All right, we're back after back, after this break. This
is the David Molly Show live from the Numerica Studios. Hi,

Speaker 1 (01:40:52):
Yeah it's fun. Uh news stuff? Yeah, can I tell
you the latest breaking news unders down? This is for
the day being me feeling as bad as I do,
Like just I have the Brady Bunch of experience locked
in and guess who's coming with me? Stacying Weber, that's perfect.
(01:41:15):
She's like, yeah, she sent me the link, well, a
couple of people sent me the link, but I was saying,
maybe she wants to come, and I'm paying for the tickets.
I got the tickets, but.
Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
She was going to ask where the tickets cost.
Speaker 1 (01:41:27):
You know, No, you can't. Okay, you know what it
was the same as it was the same as like
two nights in a hotel somewhere. It's like each uh no,
no total Listen, I've had worse days of the casino.
Let me so. Yeah, not all, it's all good, all
(01:41:48):
in the realm. And then and then I'm going to
get super cheap tickets, fly right into Burbank, stay right there,
right near the airport. That's what I'm doing. And I
have a bunch of Southwest points and I don't even
think will run a car. I think we'll just uber.
It's not I don't think it's worth It depends where
we're staying. But you know who wants the responsibility of
(01:42:08):
running a car when you can. They have pretty good
shuttle services from there too, to different places. So I
think we fly in, stay somewhere in Burbank, do the
Brady experience.
Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
It's gonna be awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:42:21):
And they let you take photos and video, yes, so
a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:42:25):
Don't don't be don't be a jinx, don't be late.
See that's Oliver.
Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
I'm excited today is our one year anniversary here. Yes,
birthday people that are celebrating birthdays.
Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
Jason Alexander, Oh, how they get you Jerry? That one?
Or or is it Britney's ex husband?
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
No, it is the the George Costanza Jason Alexander.
Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
People say he never heard Jerry. Yeah, but they say
he never actually ever said that's how they get you Jerry.
Speaker 3 (01:43:00):
Oh, I think it was Kramer that Maybe. I think
it's a better chance that Kramer would say that's how
they get you Jerry.
Speaker 1 (01:43:06):
And last night's episode, it was the one where they
were going to go to the bottle scheme where they're
going to remember they're.
Speaker 3 (01:43:11):
Going to it was a two part episode.
Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Yeah, and they borrowed Jerry's car and then they put
all the groceries on top of the engine and it
was the guy from Everybody Loves Raymond, The big tall
guy was the mechanic, the judging mechanic. Pretty funny.
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:43:26):
I didn't watch the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
I don't think he needed to before you've seen it.
Bruce Springsteen also has a birthday today. How do you
think he is?
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
Is he sixty seven seventy six?
Speaker 3 (01:43:40):
What four more years, he'll be eighty years old.
Speaker 1 (01:43:43):
You know, he's in that Billy Joel special and he
looks great. Yeah, he really.
Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
He's always good.
Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
I mean he was always a pretty good looking guy, right, but.
Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
He's taking good care of himself. You know, he looks good.
Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
I remember he was on I think he was like
it might have been Howard Stern or one of those anyway,
he was. Sterne was trying to get him to say
something negative about Taylor Swift and he just was like,
you know, I'm not having any of this. She's tremendous.
(01:44:18):
She's a tremendous talent and a great songwriter. And if
there's if a great if Bruce Springsteen is calling you
a great songwriter, Yeah, you're a great songwriter. And he says,
I know it's a you know, different generation, but I
know talent. I respect talent and she you know, So
that was that was kind of cool. I was I
was him for him to stand up and say that.
Speaker 1 (01:44:41):
Uh. In the documentary, he talks a lot about how
they tried to compare well. At one point they tried
to get Elton John's band to back Billy Joel and
Billy Joel's like, no, I'm trying to separate myself from
Oultin John and he plays on the piano. The differences
between their styles, it's so cool because they're both very
accomplished piano players. I mean, it's the thing. But they
(01:45:03):
have Paul McCartney on and he said if he said,
people ask me what song I wish I had written,
and that is just the way you are. He said,
that is the one song the whole world I wish
I'd written. They were talking about what a great songwriter
he is, all of them. John Mellencamp was on there,
and Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney, and there was one
(01:45:23):
other person who was like a really accomplished songwriter. But
you could see how they would make the comparison in
the early days with Elton John. Yeah, just because they're both,
you know, and they tried.
Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
That's how I saw. That's the only time I ever
saw Billy Joel was with Elton John.
Speaker 1 (01:45:38):
Years later, Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:45:40):
Yeah, this is in the nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
Yeah, this is I'm talking seventies when he was first
trying to make it, and they opened for so many
huge acts and then finally they were able to sail out.
What's the other not Madison Square Gardens. But what's the
other place in New York? A smaller place famous rock. Damn,
(01:46:05):
what's it called? You know what I'm talking about?
Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
Grand Ole Opry.
Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
No, not the grand Ole op there's another smaller place.
And then he moved up. It was because they were
such a good live band. They had a following, the
Billy Joel people.
Speaker 3 (01:46:19):
Julio Gleasias is eighty two. He is the dad of
Erique Glacias.
Speaker 1 (01:46:25):
Yes, remember that video, that audio that they had out there.
Speaker 3 (01:46:29):
Yeah, he didn't sound too good in that, did he?
Speaker 1 (01:46:32):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
And then Ray Charles would have had a birthday today,
but he went ahead and passed away in two thousand
and four.
Speaker 1 (01:46:42):
Would have been how old he would have been?
Speaker 3 (01:46:45):
Ninety five? Today? And today is National voter registration day.
Oh for people that aren't registered.
Speaker 1 (01:46:55):
Makes sense, This is a good time a year for that.
Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
Oh, and here it is. This is very exciting. It
was one hundred and seventy nine years ago today. Neptune
was discovered. Oh yeah, eighteen forty six. A German astronomer
was able to find it by studying Stay with me now,
the gravity induced disturbances of uranus.
Speaker 1 (01:47:16):
Yeah, if you know anything. You know that it was
gravity insurences.
Speaker 3 (01:47:23):
Yeah, that's how Neptune was found. And we learned earlier
on the Sam and Calai show. Yeah, fifteen hundred miles
an hour winds on Neptune all the time. Yeah, it's always.
Speaker 1 (01:47:36):
Winded there, so Indy, Yeah, be hard to get anything done.
Your hair would be a mess. Building houses would be hard, like, hey, Lou,
bring me that, damn it. Try to get Lou.
Speaker 3 (01:47:49):
And you're trying to build like you're trying to build
a kite shop. Yeah, I mean that's the future. You're
looking ahead to the future. Yeah, I know this is
going to work. This is going to be great because
I mean, everybody will be able to fly their kites whatever.
But first we get to Bilm the place.
Speaker 1 (01:48:04):
We just need a place to sell it.
Speaker 3 (01:48:07):
One hundred and forty six years ago today, Richard Rhodes
of River Park, Illinois patented the first hearing aid.
Speaker 1 (01:48:17):
What you get it, it's hearing questions a little late.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
The device looked like a fan and was held up
against the teeth. That's how the first one worked. This
is back in eighteen seventy nine. My goodness, they've come
a long way.
Speaker 1 (01:48:37):
Yeah, i'd say. So that's how my whole conversation with
the enthusiastic guy started because I said, my dog's name
is Mesa, and he said Lisa, and I said me,
say said, I can't hear anything. I need hearing aids
and I said, well that's right, my boyfriend has them.
And then we started chatting, and then mind blowing time,
(01:49:00):
I said, don't be afraid.
Speaker 3 (01:49:02):
This is one of my all time favorite stories. One
hundred and seventeen years ago today. The year is nineteen
oh eight. Fred Merkle was a runner on first base.
He infamously failed to touch second base after his teammates
scored the game winning run on his hitd His slip
(01:49:22):
up cost the Giants the pennant against the Cubs and
became known as Merkle's boner. Yeah, so they call him
bonehead Fred bonehead Merkle, right, it.
Speaker 1 (01:49:37):
Was his boner messed everything up. Who wants to be
stuck with? How did it ever get its other name?
Speaker 3 (01:49:43):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
Who that was that? Because it was a bonehead move.
Then sudden one day, I don't know, fifties sixties something,
the other thing gets the name. How do you make
that stick?
Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
The other thing is more logical. I can see how
they get there.
Speaker 1 (01:50:04):
You know, yeah, I suppose it's unfortunate. It's it's a retro.
It's the family of mister Boner going what now they're
calling that that? But that was? This is worse. Now
we knew he made a mistake, but now he's going
to be associated with that.
Speaker 6 (01:50:25):
It's true, Myrcles Boner.
Speaker 3 (01:50:32):

Speaker 3 (01:50:47):
He never says I missed my friend Andy, but he
does say, I guess I just missed my friend.
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
The other guy said, I wish I could be Tom Brocott.
Speaker 6 (01:50:58):
It's thank you for this call. You brought out the
sun on a very prey Chicago day.
Speaker 1 (01:51:08):
There's no day.
Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
Well he did because he had like dentures and he
would there were words that he would say and then
they would would just be like a whistle sound.
Speaker 1 (01:51:19):

Speaker 6 (01:51:33):
Today is our anniversarate. It was just one year ago
today we started the show. Oh my goodness. They said
it would never last, but their back. No silly people
(01:52:00):
enjoyed their witty banner banter. Oh the girl did John
Walks boot and she she did a very underrated David Bowie.
Speaker 3 (01:52:10):
That was the.
Speaker 1 (01:52:11):
Beginning of the end. She got a got away from her.
Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
She was performing in her car. She thought it sounded.
Speaker 6 (01:52:25):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:52:27):
She put it on the list.
Speaker 6 (01:52:29):
So little did she know others were judging her. Oh
they said Johnny Cash was better?
Speaker 1 (01:52:41):
What was?
Speaker 6 (01:52:45):
And certainly share and even John.
Speaker 1 (01:53:07):
Why would there be an at the end of all? Right,
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:53:25):
N CIS was premiered on this day twenty three years
ago or twenty two years ago. This is their twenty
third season in CIS huge hit, gosh, And I've never seen.
Speaker 1 (01:53:36):
It, never seen an n CIS ever.
Speaker 3 (01:53:40):
It's not really my thing.
Speaker 1 (01:53:41):
Is that Mark Carmon the n CIS, Yeah right? Is
he still honor or is it n CIS New Wing
or something?
Speaker 3 (01:53:48):
Well, there's there's multiple ones. They're in CIS New Orleans
debuted eleven years and that ran for seven seasons. Then
they had n CIS. They had multiple ones, but the
first one The very first one was twenty two years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:54:05):
Got it?
Speaker 3 (01:54:06):
Modern Family premiered on this day in two thousand and nine.
That ran for eleven seasons. Yes, successful. And then a
little trivia question for you. Okay, twenty eleven was the
air The final episode of All My Children aired on ABC.
It was on the air for forty one years. Susan Lucci.
(01:54:29):
Now here's your trivia question. How many times was she
nominated and how many times did she win? For Best Actress?
Speaker 1 (01:54:36):
It was on the air how long?
Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
Forty one years?
Speaker 1 (01:54:39):
I believe she was nominated twenty nine times and I
think she won twice. No, well don't actually I have
a chance.
Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
Well, you're in the right world.
Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
She was nominated nineteen times and she won once, very close,
eighteen and one.
Speaker 3 (01:55:00):
One times nominated, she won once.
Speaker 1 (01:55:02):
That's crazy, And they named it the Susan Lucci Like,
don't you don't want to pull a Susan Lucci.
Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Yeah, And then you would have to look up how
many in a row she lost? Then she won, and
then she lost a bunch more in a row. I
think she was like fourteen or fifteen years, wasn't it
something like that?
Speaker 1 (01:55:21):
Yeah? So crazy, it was, Yeah, let's go Susan Lucci,
Poor Susan Lucci, and then we go towards how many
plastic surgeries? No, that's none of our business. Don't you
do that. Let's see, I'm gonna go awards, because that's tough.
(01:55:42):
Awards and nominations. That a good thing to look up.
Usually they give a can't.
Speaker 3 (01:55:50):
You just put in the just say? How many in
a row did she lose in a row?
Speaker 1 (01:55:56):
That doesn't sound very nice. Okay, Oh my god, it
don't feel good. How many how many Emmys in a
row did she lose?
Speaker 4 (01:56:07):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:56:08):
All right, in a row? Did Susan Lucci? Oh? That
says whim was nominated for. They don't use the word lose, Dave.
The streak is over, it says, oh, the streak is over. Okay.
Before Susan Letch was nominated nineteen consecutive time.
Speaker 3 (01:56:32):
Oh my gosh. So then I wins.
Speaker 1 (01:56:35):
One, breaking her streak and winning the nineteenth. Wow did she?
And so she's been total So she had two more
times where she was yeah, or maybe it was before
and then didn't win. Yeah, the family declared, this streak
is over. That's good.
Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
What was it like after the the after fifteen times
she shows up, But then sometimes don't you just get.
Speaker 1 (01:57:02):
Pissed, like, why do you keep inviting me to give
me a heads up? Am I not gonna? I wonder
if she went every single time? She probably did. She
was a good person.
Speaker 3 (01:57:14):
I mean, you know, television knows. Tonight you do have
Dancing with the Stars. It's one hit Wonders night.
Speaker 1 (01:57:20):
Oh fun.
Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
Yeah, they'll be dancing to all songs that were one hit.
Speaker 1 (01:57:24):
Wonder is it on real TV or is it on.
Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
Says on real TV? Well? ABC? And then the voice
returns part two of the blind auditions. Okay, so you
know it's good late night tonight. Oh, it's a very
active late night. Jimmy Fallon. I feel bad for Jimmy Fallon.
He's got Leonardo DiCaprio and crushed. Yeah, and that's like
(01:57:50):
that would any other night. That's like, oh my god,
that's it because he doesn't do though, Leonardo doesn't.
Speaker 1 (01:57:55):
Do those shows, but he's doing this one.
Speaker 3 (01:57:58):
Because he's in that new movie be One Battle after Another.
Benicio del Toro will also join, and then Kate McKinnon
will be a guest with Jimmy Fallon.
Speaker 1 (01:58:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:58:11):
Uh, Stephen Colbert will have Gavin Newsom and Priscilla Presley.
Priscilla Presley, Yeah, her book came out yesterday, I believe,
or No Today comes out today, so there's a uh.
And then Jimmy Kimmel. We do not know who his
guest will be, but it's his first episode back after
his suspension was lifted.
Speaker 1 (01:58:31):
It should be Matt Damon. Yeah, because isn't that the
one they always they always boot him.
Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
He always says he runs out of time.
Speaker 1 (01:58:38):
For Yeah, for Matt Damon. Okay. I wanted to see
Dave Cotton and I wanted to meeting. Should we should
I text him? Yeah, but we only have a couple
of minutes. We got to just keep it quick. Let's see.
Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
I want to text him up special too.
Speaker 1 (01:59:02):
Come. I'm gonna say, come in here. I don't know
if we'll get it. I don't know if he pays
attention to Stacy and are having a girl's weekend. We're
very excited. Usually the last you know, bit of time,
it's been the four of us, it's been couples, and
so we haven't had a girl's weekend and along just
(01:59:24):
two of us. It's gonna be awesome. All right, We'll
see just.
Speaker 3 (01:59:29):
Two young girls heading off to California together.
Speaker 1 (01:59:31):
Yeah, maybe we'll go back to World Stomping Grants. In fact, well,
our reunion is until next year. I don't think we'll
go fortieth Is that right? Forty year eighty six? Yeah,
next year, I don't think so. I don't have it
in me.
Speaker 3 (01:59:49):
I've been to one. I went to the twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:59:52):
I went to the ten and not much had changed, right,
And then I think we went to the twenty, or
maybe we went to the twenty, and then I was
down there for the thirty. And remember I didn't go.
I went. I went to San Francisco, I did some stuff.
Stacy was going to Mexico and I didn't go. I
went flew down with every intention, but I didn't really
(02:00:13):
know anybody. So it's kind of like going to boot
camp for me. Every time, it's like people look past
you to talk to somebody more important, you know, Like
I've been here every time, although there I put in
my time with Radio boot Camp. We've been there every year,
but it's sort of I'm not good at that kind
of thing. Anyway, I'm leaving here soon, not sticking around. No,
(02:00:36):
I know, you have stuff to do. I have a
couple of emails to send out. But I'm going up
to Huckleberries and I'm getting my magic soup and I'm
going home and I'm getting on my couch and I'm
going to eat my magic soup and I'm going to
I'm gonna double check my calendar right now, because if
there's anything on there, I'm gonna throw it. I'm gonna
throw my phone right R I passed you. No, it's
(02:00:57):
gonna smash. Nope, nothing, So I'm gonna try to recoup.
I gotta get better. I feel awful right now, but
I can.
Speaker 3 (02:01:08):
I am right behind you. I yeah, I'm when. I'm hoping.
My hope is that it was just that I didn't
I woke up way too early and never got back
to sleep. My sleep vibe thing came unplugged. I couldn't
figure out how I was not getting back to sleep right,
I'm like, I always fall back asleep. And then I
checked it and the court had come undone that's on
(02:01:31):
operator air. Yeah, And by that time I had already
got you know, out of bed and turned the light on.
And this is not so I'm hoping that it's just tired.
But I got the thing. I don't know. I'm in
a feeling a bit weak, and we have a very
busy stretch coming up, so I too will have to
be very good to myself, and I'll get outside a
(02:01:52):
little bit and get some fresh air. But I don't
think it's going to be It's not gonna be a
yard work day.
Speaker 1 (02:01:59):
No have it in me. My only thing in my
house is all clean, which is awesome.
Speaker 3 (02:02:05):
So you're gonna go home to your nice clean house
and drink your magic soup and.
Speaker 1 (02:02:08):
Get and then and then sleep. And then I'll set
my alarm for about five to three, and then I'll
go pick a balox, take him to karate, which is
it never been easier because it's only half an hour,
you know, it's just like pick him up three thirty.
He gets dropped off at four. I don't know what
I'll do for that hour.
Speaker 3 (02:02:27):
Say, maybe go back in your car and you drift
away again.
Speaker 1 (02:02:30):
I could if it's not too hot out, I might
bring up pillow with me, just lay there. If it's
warm enough, it's cool enough to yeah, and then that's it.
Then I'll just be home to me. Yeah, And you're saying,
no yard work, no, casino today, not that Shenani.
Speaker 3 (02:02:46):
No, I gotta I just I'm feeling a bit weak.
Me too, And I know that there's no there's no
time for the week this week.
Speaker 1 (02:02:53):
No, no any other week. We could be like, okay,
we'll just shut it down and we'll be fine. But no.
Speaker 3 (02:03:00):
Oh oh, you got people texting in. What hate to
tell you this? You guys here to listen to this?
What hate to tell you this? But I'm coming off COVID.
It's been going around. Take care of yourselves.
Speaker 1 (02:03:16):
What were your symptoms. I know a lot of people
have had COVID and stuff, but most of them have
been traveling, I mean getting it from airplanes.
Speaker 3 (02:03:32):
Yeah. Oh, and somebody wants to they want a full
explanation of what the magic soup is.
Speaker 1 (02:03:38):
Oh, it is from Huckleberries on the South Hill. It
is their chicken jalapeno soup. And I was sick one
time and my friend Mary brought it to me. She said,
this is the magic soup and it will make you better.
And I have in my experience, it has helped a
great deal. It's got enough spice, it's got I think
it's because it's got the broth. It's got the it's
(02:04:00):
got some vegetables in it, and it's got a spicy
kick to it, and so with all those things, it's
a good comment. Yeah, and then I made some I
made some chicken noodle soup and I added some spice.
Remember I brought it for you and Quinn. It was
my homemade chicken noodle. It wasn't bad. It wasn't as
good as theirs, but it was pretty good.
Speaker 3 (02:04:20):
Pretty good.
Speaker 5 (02:04:21):
So that's it, all right, have a great day, everybody.
Thank you so much for tuning in for our anniversary show.
