Speaker 1 (00:00):
Live from the Nu America Studio and brought to you
by Northern Quest Resort and Casino.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
It's the Dave and Molly Show.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Oh, it's the show. It's back, it's everything. Oh my god,
Molly's back. Remember when you were gone, but now you're back.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Taking Friday off was the best thing in the whole world.
Thank you to you and all the people who filled in,
because I slept until I believe it was eight forty five.
Oh I needed it and it was great. And then
I got a lot of accomplishment. So yeah, so you
guys were hanging out and doing your stuff, and I

(00:39):
was just we.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Were almost done by the time you woke up.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
It's so weird that time shift when you're sick or
you're off for the day, that that period of time,
just the amount of stuff that happens while you're sleeping
is really astounding.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah, yeah, sort of.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Yeah, how was your weekend? You had a lot of stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
You were the one that you're the champion, You have
finished your event. Everything, that's fine.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Yes, it was great. It was great. You know, I
woke up yesterday morning thinking of all the things that,
you know, I'll do differently, or I could have done,
and then I thought, no, just celebrate that. It was fun.
There was lots of wine. I think we raised a
lot of money, That's what I was told. Yes, yes,
I think we did very well. And it was it's

(01:21):
just you know. When I left here Thursday, I went
straight to Mary's house and I spent all of that
whole day working on like last minute auction things. And
so by the time I left her house, I was fried,
and I said, I said, I'm going to go home.
But the truth is I went out to the casino
for like an hour, and then she called me with

(01:41):
a question. I said, don't you judge me. Don't you
judge me? I needed an hour. She goes, when I'm stressed,
I eat when you're stressed, you gamble. I said, that's correct.
I just need to be in this space for an
hour or two. But Thursday night I was asleep by
probably eight fifteen. I mean I was.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I was a twelve hour sleep.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yes, I needed it because I was still fighting off
whatever was going on. And then so Friday morning, yeah,
I slept to like eight thirty eight forty five, and
so but then I had a lot of stuff.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
I got a lot of stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Done and then to the venue and I think we
got there at noon and I was there all the
way until four thirty. It's it's this Feltz Field situation
is because there's airplane parts in it, and because they
have other things, you can't really have your setup until
kind of until, and that is that's challenging. So we

(02:39):
just got everything in and I didn't realize how much
lifting I was doing, and I didn't realize how out
of shape I was, because usually my arms are strong,
my legs are strong, I've been lifting weights.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Not the case right now.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
So I lifted with my back, the biggest strongest part
of my body, which is the worst. So when I
woke up Sunday morning, I was hobbled.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I was serious.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yesterday morning my feet hurt my back, and I was like,
if you're out of shape like I am right now,
you have somebody else lift the case of wine because
you're not in the condition. It is heavy. But in
my normal life I can at least lift with my
legs and do it.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
No bend at the knees, lift with ease, that's right.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
And instead I was, oh, my crap, lifted with my back.
It's like what you're stupid. So anyway, Thursday was all
day that then Friday up and yeah, after that was that,
and then Saturday up early. I was up at five
on Saturday because I was asleep. Oh and that's the
other thing. So Saturday night I get home. No Friday night. Sorry,

(03:43):
that's all. And I decide I can't go to the casino.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Think.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
I'm at the mall at five o'clock looking for something
to wear, and I'm exhausted. So I get a call,
I get my dinner. I get a call around seven
thirty and it's my friends. They're at the coast and
they're like, hey, we have an offer on your house.
What do you think? And I said okay. I said
are you going to be up for an hour? And
I said I don't think so I said I will
leave my ringer on in case you know you need me. Well,

(04:09):
sure enough, i'd just fallen asleep. I'm in bed. It's
eight fifteen and and I'm like, oh my god. He goes, okay,
we have an offer. Here's the offer. I'm setting over
the paperwork. Now I'm like okay. And he stayed on
the phone with me. So now you know you have
the DOCU signed but it's on my phone, and I'm
just I put my glass and my eyes are blurry,
and I'm just saying yes, yes, yes, he goes, Okay,

(04:30):
we got it all set. We're closing October tenth night,
and I'm like, okay.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
I woke up in the morning.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I thought, did that even happen?

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Oh geez, yeah, and they were working. Yeah, it was busy,
and then I was sort of delirious, but I went
to sleep peacefully and then woke up at five Saturday.
And that's why it was such a long day, because
I was out, went to the store, got last minute things,
did all my stuff, and then at the venue at
one thinking doors open at five thirty.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
And so that's a long stretch.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Well not when there's still stacked chairs and you still
don't have your you know, place set up. So I'm
setting up tents and I'm hauling cases of wine, and
I'm you know, we're setting up tables and we're trying
to find the things, and it's just all of a sudden,
it's four thirty and we still have stuff to do

(05:25):
and people are gonna be there. And man, when you
say doors open at five thirty, people are there. At
five twenty and it's ten to six and there's almost
everybody there, and the thing wasn't supposed to start until six,
and so the food isn't out. So I'm freaking out
because we have all these people. And then I thought,
wait a second, we said six o'clock. Every where's wine out,

(05:46):
Everything is okay, totally fine. And then there was a
miscommunication about the start of the dinner, so then I
was I was like, oh my god, oh my god,
get the food out.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
But it worked out just fine.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
But the one thing that totally bummed me out was
the when we were doing the raffle drawing and Ken
did the raffle for the Quarterlane Resort and Nadine had
the ticket.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Oh you guys were all.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Excited, and then he had to say no. And then
and then I thought, this is Ken brought this for me.
He goes, I wanted you to have your own sound effect,
because remember when Mike gave you that, and then I
have it looks like a little horn, yeah, a little.

(06:29):
But that made me sad because I thought you were
so excited and that was a good price.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
There were a lot of I was involved in a
lot of raffles over the weekend. Really, I'd never been
more confident than well, we'll get to it in a bit,
but yeah, the event on Friday night, Yeah, was was
a thing. And I just, you know, you just get
a feeling like I'm going to win. I just have
this feeling that I just I don't know what it was.
You know, it's you know, gamblers get it every now

(06:57):
and then, and most of the time it's wrong. But
right you think that you're onto something. Yes, I won nothing,
so ah.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, wam wham.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
But see that's what we need. The horn it was,
it was everybody was great. Tom Sherry was great and
Mike Ken was great, and that every everybody who comes
to that event has a nice spirit. And there were
just there were two other huge fundraisers going on this weekend,
and so we were competing with that. And I think
what happens is somebody like a Northern Quest, they'll give us.

(07:28):
They gave us ten thousand dollars this year. They had
two tables to fill but only send a few people.
And I think what happens is they are very generous,
they buy the tables, but then you know, even the
Cage Q table wasn't completely full. There were some people
who who wanted to buy a table but couldn't fill it.
So you know, with that, it's kind of nice you
have extra room, which is nice and stuff, but it's

(07:50):
also you want bodies there to kind of fill everything out.
So so there was some you know, extra breathing room.
But there was really good wine. Our request was there,
and barrister her and Debbie Moon had her correct her
people there, which were so great, and then we just
were just we got I mean, we had a lot
of wine I bought. I had eight cases of wine

(08:14):
that I that we had, and then barrister they each
had two cases of wine, and so at the empty tables,
those wine bottles got put on other tables.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
The wine was killing.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah, so yeah, so it was we were there until
pretty late getting everything undone, and then got back to
Ken's house and we kind of sat outside and I said,
I'm I'm done. It was like eleven thirty and I'd
been up since five and both days and but what

(08:48):
I what happened was I was wearing these like cowboy
boot things and it was just enough of a heel
on concrete that my whole body was aching. And I
woke up and I had shooting pains down my left leg.
And then I quipped to go to the bathroom and
I'm hobbled. I'm walking, and I thought, oh my god,
I broke myself. I'm broken. I broke my back. I'm broken.

(09:09):
And then yesterday morning, his buddy George because he had
to go to work. So his buddy George is in town.
He and I took all the stuff from my cars
to the storage unit. Before I could do anything else.
My car was full of stuff. So its just and
then that it's there's more stuff to do. But so
then I said, I need to go to church. It's Sunday.
It's church time for me.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah. So you only missed Uh oh, no you went.
You didn't. You didn't go on Friday, but you went
on Thursday.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
I didn't go Friday or Saturday.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Yeah, I went there two days. Oh yeah, and thursdays
for a couple of hours.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
You can't miss three row. I'm on.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
So I did. I got home, I got myself some
food and then went out and it was it was
not it was it was just fine. I was asked, well,
did you did you win any money? And I said
I lost less than I was going to I recovered
some at the end, but all the football was on
and people were going crazy.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Did you watch your Lions?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
I didn't watch my lions. I'm sorry, but they won.
I got so many wrong this week on my pick thing.
I mean, just a bunch of redexes. I was wrong, wrong, wrong.
I like, I think it's funny that there is a
guy in this sports bar area and he was yelling
so loud, and he was doing the let's go thing,
and then I told you, that's my boy, that's my boy.

(10:31):
And they're grown adults. They're screaming at these different TVs,
and all different TVs are happening, so they're all screaming
at different things. It's like, you, guys, what time.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
The last night?

Speaker 5 (10:41):
Oh it was through the day.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Oh yeah, it was through the day. All the football
was going. It was fun though. It was good just
to just to escape. And then I got myself some
food and I brought it home and I was watching
this new show called Wayward with Tony Collette.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
My daughter's watching it. Yeah, she likes.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
It very good. It's a little scarier than I like usually.
It's more of a suspense, kind of a thriller. And
then this morning I had my bag pack with the
rest of my food and I was all excited and
then there was some commotion and the neighbors were oute anyway,
I left my food sitting at my house. Oh no,
on the counter. I'm so sad. It was the rest

(11:18):
of some like tied anyway. Yeah, but it was a
great weekend. I'm just sort of still piecing it all together,
you know. Just it was just a lot of and
I work and I thank are my committee.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
It's a big relief.

Speaker 6 (11:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah. And then when will you have all the numbers crunched?

Speaker 4 (11:39):
And it's like, okay, we have some preliminary numbers right now,
probably in the next day or two. Well, no, because
we have to back out all of our expenses and stuff.
But we had some great people and Quinn. So Quinn
was in charge of the video and he did a
great job. Sweet Quinn. And I have one of our

(12:00):
board members come up with durs and he said, uh, Molly,
because there was a rotating slide for all of our
sponsors and he said, did you notice that it says
sposed nurse up there? And I said what, yeah, And
I looked up on all of them. I went, oh
my god. He said, is there any way to change it.

(12:20):
I looked over at Quinn and I said, Quinn, he goes,
I know. I was like, because I looked at it too,
so did Maddie. We were all looking at it. Nobody
noticed it. And he said I he was so mortified.
I said, he's self reported though.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
He when he was one of the first people that
we saw at the event. And he says, he, you know,
I did the did the video and everything. Have you
noticed anything? And I said, oh, it looks great. And
he says, look, look and I saw you know it
was SPO S N O R S. You know, yes,

(12:58):
And I said, well, you were just trying to get
close to you. That's what you're trying to do. And
so we were joking around about that and then then
that went away, and then it was like other stuff
like it. I don't know if he changed it to
where that wasn't on, or maybe it was a set
time where it was only going to run.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Yeah, it only ran for the opening part, just so
all of our people could the sposers could be So
I told my kid about it. He was the EMC
You've got to make a joke about it, and I said,
just say, some people have sponsors, we have sposers, and
just draw their attention to it, because you know, you
all the things that go on and then you miss that.

(13:37):
How could I miss that? But but a lot of
people I had to point it out to them, they said,
I didn't even notice it.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Well, it's one of those things where it's just it's
up there and you know what it is, so you're yes,
sort of your brain just goes sponsors.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Of course, the sponsors. Quinn did a great job on
the video. I thought he he made it. He made
it so easy and years past it's been such a big,
stress full production and he made it just boom boom boom.
He's so easy and great. And then Hoffman Music, I
have to give them a huge shutout. My ex husband,
my last one, most recent one third He and his

(14:12):
people from Hoffman's were great. They did all the av
stuff and a really good cost and really just very
nice people. So everybody was great. Our committee was great,
and yes, I'm glad it's over. We have a week
of cleanup and review and then we can really put
it in the books and just he's done with that.

(14:33):
Go yeah, and we'll have money for the next you
know here or more to Yeah. So this morning, I
just want to report that my neighbors are the greatest
neighbors in the world. And if you have a problem
at five am, they're up. And I never want to
have a gun ever, but I love having a neighbor
with a gun.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
It's like boats and cabins. You want a neighbor with
a gun just to know in case there's trouble, They're like, yep,
what do you have? What's going on? And you can
call on them. And but my three neighbors right the
triangle around me, it's like the triangle of you know,
they we all watch ye yes, yes, with big dogs
and guns and stuff.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
So it's awesome anyway.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
So I'm just sad because I had all this food
and I was so excited because it was.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Well, how long did it take you to get to
your house?

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Twelve minutes?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
So twenty four minutes?

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Yeah, yeah, no I'm not. Yeah, it's okay.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Bad play some songs, best show.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
The sad thing is they.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Can play messages from our spos We need to, We've
got them. We've got lots of great sposers.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
We we had fun.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
It's such a weird thing because I love watching everybody
have fun. But I there were some people I hadn't
seen it a long time, and I wanted to talk
to them, but your head spinning, You're like, I can't.
But h was there, and Magan Koza, one of our
all long time listeners was there. Dave Cotton said, I
can't believe I've never been to this event. He has
never been before. So maybe now I think that our

(16:09):
event is super fun and super relaxed. And I know
my mom and her friends had been to three events
all in a row, and they said this was just
fun and the doors open, which is a big deal.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
So I forgot about that.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
I was I wore pants for the first time, and yeah,
I know, and I was thinking that, you know, I don't.
It was just nice to have that, you know, the
open view and the weather was good that night.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Yeah, it was perfect. Everything was great and the food
was tasty. Once once we got it all out there,
it was good. And so yeah, it's nice to move.
It's nice to think about what my days and.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Then then you don't have to worry about any events
until tonight.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Oh that's right, that's the other thing. I was thinking,
I've got my Monday, I'll go, oh, you gotta give
away truck. Yeah, and then with karate being you know,
my last karate pickup was last week. My whole world
is going to change. I did see the little girls
on Saturday. They were heading out to the Spokane Valley

(17:18):
Firefighters put on the thing like a free event, and
so they went out there. But I said, I'm now
I'm going to be more available because they have track.
They're doing track and stuff, so I'll go watch them.
And yeah, just maybe I could get my butt back
into a gym for once, because I I you know,
you get do an age, it's like you need to

(17:39):
have muscles, you need to have some kind of structure
that is keeping your body from breaking. And I really
realized it this weekend that I need to start lifting
weights again. I've let it go too far.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Maybe you need a sposer to someone to keep you
on track.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
That would be so great.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yes, yeah, it was a full weekend, all right.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
I think I powered through on Friday because I was
you know, there's there was some stuff going around, but
it was just just get through it and we had
some great help. Ken came in. He did the whole show.
Then yur Kane came in for a while, we had
Kate Hudson. Kate was kind of in and out. Sam

(18:24):
was in.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
So it was how did the trivia go? Did you
win your five dollars question?

Speaker 7 (18:28):
No?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I did not, but Megan did get it? Or who played? Yeah? Megan?
Megan played on Friday?

Speaker 6 (18:36):
Right?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Oh, did Ken do the paperwork?

Speaker 2 (18:40):
He did the paperwork, but I don't know if that
he put the five dollars in there?

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Oh no? Anyway, Oh, I see it right here. I
see the showdown Megan. Oh no, I bet he mailed
out the Oh no.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
And he even took the thing down to the he did.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Did you find that?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
The card?

Speaker 4 (18:57):
The gift card and everything?

Speaker 2 (19:01):
He did it all.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
I don't know anyway, but he took everything down. So
Friday was Friday was fine. And then I ended up
being here a little bit longer than normal because because
of the way the show went. Yes on Friday, it
was like I and I, you know, I didn't keep
track of the times, so that I was trying to
piece together. And then we had some we had segments

(19:22):
of the show that were very long because we had
people kind of coming in at mid segment because I
was the only one that could go down and get
people that were coming in. So anyway, it all, it
all turned out fine. And then I just said I
had to Friday was the day that Friday had to
be a shark. I just had to keep keep moving.

(19:45):
So I mowed the front yard and got everything done.
I was outside. I thought I took Malli for a walk,
but I think I think my daughter may have taken
taken her.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
So I did all that and.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Then then Nadine came over and we were we had
two things we had.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
It was Debbie Moon's.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Last night at ces SO and then we had the
Better Together event at Northern Quest.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Uh you know that night. So it thought, okay, well.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Let's let's hit Clinker Dagger early and then because I
know it's going to be.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Crazy there, which it was.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Yeah, So we got there and it timed out perfect
because we got there and we sat in the in
the bar and just had an appetizer knowing that we're
going to have a full dinner later. And that appetizers
I think saved us because the Northern Quest event, they
had a full dinner. But it was you know, it

(20:43):
was later by the time the food came out and everything.
So we got Clinker Dagger and we had the coconut
shrimp and that was great.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I do have to mention Alec who works in the
bar there. He he came over a longtime listener. He
grew up with us. Basically, he's a younger guys. That's
you guys. I've only known a world with you guys.
So that was super cool.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
So then it was off to Northern Quest for the
Better together. And that's the thing We've talked about it before,
but it's all of the organizations that they give money to,
they invite them for the big dinner in this big
event at Northern Quest, which is incredibly kind.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
They feed us for giving us money, They thank us
for letting them give us a lot of Yeah, yeah,
it's pretty amazing.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
And they had they had a bunch of different things.
You had you had raffle tickets, and then they had
a card game and and it was just one of
those deals where it's just like, oh, I'm winning this.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I just I just had a feeling.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
It's like I'm so glad that I wasn't playing with
real money, because I kept.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Thinking, well, no, it's going to happen. I'll just keep
putting money in.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
But did you know, didn't didn't cost anything, but super
good night and just wonderful people. Place was the room
is completely full. Wow, there's a there's not an empty
spot in there.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
You know, it's I sent someone in my I think
Colleen brought somebody extra in my in my place. But
I was getting text now is Ken still coming? And
I said no, he's out too, And and so I
was gathering that it was full and they were needing
our spaces.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Yeah. We had a great table too.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
We had Charlene, you know, who worked with years ago,
and Michelle who we worked with.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
She was an old producer.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Way back in the day. Yeah, and then she you know,
worked the best Broadway. Now she's at Northern Quest. So
they were there and and then some of your people
were there and.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
At the same table.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Yeah. And then Uh and Ken and Trish.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
And we put you all together.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
It was wonderful. Yeah, the whole program was great.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Got to learn about all the stuff that they do,
and they you know, they've given away likewenty.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Five million dollars, five million dollars and then they bring
us there to say thank you for letting them give us. Well,
I know they gave us ten thousand this year for
safety Net and then they gave us a ton of
money for the Dave Kennemali Christmas Fund. So just in
those two things. Yeah, very generous.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
So anyway, that was it was that was a that
was a fun night and uh, you know and free wine.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Did you go play it all?

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Or it's just a no? I had no, no for
multiple reasons.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
So so let me back up. So we had our
party on Wednesday, right, lots of wine. Then you did
Best of Broadway Thursday night?

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Was that a late night then?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Yeah? Wine?

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Wine?

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, oh yeah, and glasses of wine on the Thursday.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
What we two at dinner? What did we do for Yeah,
we went to dinner first.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
How did you stay away for the show?

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Well, you know, touch and go? It was touch and go.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
I can't I can't do that. I can't do wine
and sit and watch Friday.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
I had I had to power through. It had to
be like if I stop, I'll die. Yeah, So it's
like just keep keep keeping going.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
So then then when the Friday event was over, it's
like okay, home and I knew that I could sleep in,
and I did.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
I got a good sleep.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
On on Friday into Saturday, and really the only thing
Saturday was was your event, which which was nice because
I kind of you know, got back to good and
and then yeah, then uh, Nadine came over and then
we were all and we were very good on the time.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
I thought, yeah, you were.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
We We got.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
There probably around five forty and I think we beat
the big rush because when we went in, we sailed
through the registration.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
Yeah, it was pretty good this year too.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
They were.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
And then when I when we were you know, in
the room looking back, it's like, oh, geez, look there's
all the people now, but we're already here.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
I was already having the wine.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
And it was nice to see, you know, a lot
of the same people.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Really.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
We had seen Debbie the night before for her last
night at Clinker Dagger, and then you know, and Dave
Cotton was there.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
He works with.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Meals on Wheels for his his charity. So a lot
of the people were just kind of you know, just
in the same people, different environment.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
And then the spirit was all good.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Yeah, So and I put you guys right near the food.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Yeah, we got to be right by the food for
quick access to the food. Yes, so yeah, that was
on the first person we saw actually when we were
when we were we had parked, I think we got
the last spot in the parking lot, just kind of
a small parking lot where your event was, and we're
walking across the parking lot and then here comes this

(26:02):
fancy convertible car and it's Tom Sherry and he's got
his sunglasses on and everything.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Look at you. And I loved you.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
I loved the event because there was a time when
Tom was on stage with Ken, and I was just thinking,
you know, there was a time we were all college
radio people together.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
You know, and Tom was a year in front of me.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
Yeah, And and I think by the time I had
finished my time at the Falls, Tom was, you know,
he had finished the program he was working. And then
I think I was Ken's roommate for a while. Yeah,
we were. We were roommates for a bit. And so
it was just like and that's all, you know, forty years.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Ago, and isn't it We're all still in this yeah,
sit down and then you guys are all in the
same business.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Yeah somewhat, and yeah, it is nice.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
So it was fun. It was.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
I thought the event was great. The barrister people were wonderful. Yeah,
the one and then I got to see the people
that I haven't seen for a while and everything I put.
I put all my eggs in one basket. And it
was the quarterline resort thing, which I get to I
get to play there, you know, from time to time.
But this was the whole this was the hotel deal.

(27:30):
So I put all my I think I only bought
one thing of tickets was a five.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
For twenty four for yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Yeah, so put all of them in that.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
And then Nadine had a couple others and then when
they were calling, and I knew that would be a
problem because it was that many people in the room
to just call the last three digits.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Yeah, you know, playing with fire.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
And so there was the last three digits she had,
and then another person had, but then you got to
go to the fourth digit.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Yeah, and it.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Was like, oh, that's that's when we heard this sound.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Oh it was that.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
I know.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
It was the ever happened.

Speaker 8 (28:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
You said you were going to flip over tables and
burn stuff down. Yeah, and I said I'm done here,
go ahead, I don't need this.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I wanted to start a riot. But it was all good.
It was it was it was fun and it was
nice to see everybody, you know.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Yeah, working so hard.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
I saw you with my mom, chatting it up with
my mom.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
We got there early and got some time with her,
and she was she was great.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
She got accosted. Man, people would not leave her alone.
It's crazy. And here's the thing, and these are not
people who will be listening at all. But when when
you are in a setting like that, it is unfair
to try to take somebody and have a long, extended
conversation with them.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
It's rude, it's not right.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
And then to present something that happened forty years ago
or something you have in common. And it's obviously she's
there for me, so she's looking for me, she's trying
to be available. And then to just surround her and
like she she didn't even get a glass of wine
for like half an hour. She was stuck at her
table and people just kept coming over. It's like, okay, easy,

(29:20):
And then and then your mom is the cutest thing.
She's eighty six next week. Oh my god, I can't
believe it. I'm like, I I know she's adorable. We
all know she's a dark but I felt bad for
her because she was getting She couldn't like move around,
you know, and forget she's a celebrity, big time, big time.

(29:41):
Somebody said, are you now, are you doing a local theater?
She said no, I'm doing movies now, oh local movies.
She said, no, Hallmark movies and they went, oh, oh,
well my she's funny.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Anyway, I saw you guys chatting her, chatting her up.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Oh yeah, that was great.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
And then and everybody was, uh, you know, our friend
Pete who I haven't seen for a while, and Carrie Parker.
They had the Dutch Bros. Table they were right next
to us. So yeah, it was all good. It was
you know, it's a great event.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
And and Quinn was at your table. Yes, bus boers, Yes.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
All Disposner's tables.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Yeah, anyway, that was that was all good.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
And then then yesterday, so Saturday night into Sunday, it
was probably I don't know, eleven o'clock whatever time I
got to bed on Saturday night. I woke up at
five and I just said, no, this will not stand.
I'm hoping to go back. E slept till it was

(30:43):
eight o'clock when I got it, so it was back
to back, like nine hour sleep, so all caught up
and uh took took Maui for McDonald's and got coffee
and then I remembered it was the European Football thing,
so they had a game on from Dublin, which meant

(31:05):
it was like a six thirty start our time. So
you know, I'm watching football at eight o'clock in the
morning on Sunday, knowing that it's a full day of football,
and I just camped out, watched, watched a little bit
of everything, watched a lot of the red zone, and
then flipped it over to the Chiefs and the Ravens.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
And I was on the wrong side of that one.
I picked the Ravens to win that one.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yeah, the Ravens are just it's kind of sad because
they're they're so injured. They have their defense, they have
seven of eleven players out. It's just it's you know,
it's not fair. And the Ravens are one in three.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Which that's crazy. Did you watch any of the Ryters Cup.
I heard there was like chaos and people were.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Like I was getting report on that, and then I
saw some of the highlights.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
I think the crowds have gotten out of control a bit.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
Yeah, and Rory, like they're yelling at Rory and his
wife and he was refusing to put until they settled down.
And yeah, that's just yeah, I didn't crazy.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
That was mostly well it was. There was some on
Sunday too, but I think most of that was Saturday,
and I was hearing about it, but I just never
you know, I had I had a very good golf season.
I watched a lot of golf, you know. Yeah, and
the Ryder Cup's kind of the last.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Of the of the things. Yeah, so but yeah, I
heard about it, but didn't so I watched watched a
lot of football.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
And then today is actually my daughter's birthday, but she's
we have our event tonight.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
So we had dinner last night. So we went to
Maslow's and.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
You know, second time in a row, I go to
the casino and no action, not not playing any games
or anything.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
What about today, well.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
You uh, maybe a little bit. I have I do
have some some free money. So mad blows and it
was so great.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Yeah, we we were It opens at five, We were
there at five.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Our reservation was at five.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
So we get there and uh, and my daughter, she
can handle it better than I can. I, of course
am eating throughout the day because I'm watching the football
game games, and and she says, I haven't had anything
to eat all day. I'm really really excited for this.
I said, well, yeah, I probably should have had something.
But so we got there and it was she had.

(33:41):
She had the pasta and the chicken, and then I had.
I had the caesar salad. I had the filet, which
was off the chart, incredible back and I didn't think
that I could eat as much as I but it
was just.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
You know, and it's so good, you just keep more
white putting it in you. I had one glass.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Of because you have to have it with your steak.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yeah, and that's what I did.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
In fact, I had the glass of wine and then
I don't even think I took a sip of it
until I was, you know, almost done with the salad.
And then I timed it out just perfect. So I
just had the one and then in the water. And
then she she had a couple of beers.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
You know, I like that, a couple of beers.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
It was good.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
It was good for her because she had she actually
was off work on Saturday, and then she had her
birthday event Saturday.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
She had a ton of friends.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
I didn't realize how many people that were at her
little gathering that she had, and she had you know,
she says, oh, they about this, and then they had
this cake for me, and this is the people, and
oh my gosh, it was a thing. So we were
both kind of our separate ways on Saturday. And then
so we had our night Sunday and then and then

(35:01):
we'll have the thing tonight. And tonight is her actual birthday.
So got home from got home from that, we had
a great dinner and then I turned on the Sunday
night football game, which I had some fantasy players and
I had no money on it, but I was kind
of rooting for Dallas because there were more people in

(35:23):
our league, in the eliminator league that had Green Bay.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
So I think they're out. You know, did you hear
how the game ended?

Speaker 4 (35:30):
The tie? It ended in a ton work for your eliminator.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
I need to check because I think the team has
to win. I don't think ties happened.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
That's a ripoff artist right there.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
I think it's great for you.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
I'll have to check. I don't know the exactly.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
Tha.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
That doesn't seem fair because they didn't lose.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
They did not lose, but you know.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
You have to have them both stay in.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
That's actually I'm not sure how it goes. But so
the game and you know it went into overtime and
then ended in a tie. So that was that was long. Yeah,
I you know, I got caught up on my football.
I got my football fix. And it's probably good because tonight,
Monday night, there's a double header. There's two games, but

(36:18):
we're working right, so I won't see any of those.

Speaker 4 (36:22):
Well, I'm glad you got your fellow.

Speaker 6 (36:24):
Hey.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
The other thing I was going to mention over the weekend,
I got a call from Stacy. It yet Weber. Yeah,
and she said, what about this Brady thing? We got
to talk about our flights and so we're getting all
excited because we're going to rent a car and we're
going to go see all of old spots. So that
was not And I had to catch up on some Brady's.
I was watching some Bradies doing my research.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Sure you gotta do.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
I have to. I have to stay current with the Brady's.
If that's a thing.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Yeah, I gotta mention one other thing too before we
left yesterday.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Our neighbors. My neighbors are just absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
They do they do this thing every year where they
have this like a little greeting like it's a like
a like a mini street party. They say, hey, come on,
you know, bring your bring the lawn chair, bring wine,
whatever you want, and then it's a chance to for
everybody to kind of meet. There's a lot of new
people that have moved into the neighborhood, so but they
were starting at four and every year, I swear the

(37:14):
last five years, I've always had something on the night
that they've done it where I've literally been totally gone.
And so I told Samantha, I said, let's let's go
out a little early before we go to the casino
because I want to at least check in with everybody.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
And so I, you know, we open the garage door.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
I start walking out and I look over to where
I think the area is and I don't see anybody.
And I thought, oh, shoot, you know, this is like
probably like a quarter after four.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
You know, And I look over and I don't see anybody.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
And then I keep looking and then there was like
I don't know, there's probably twenty people of our neighbors. Yeah,
they're all out, everybody and it was a perfect late afternoon.
So got to chat with them for a couple of minutes. Says, hey,
we're on our way to dinner, but I just wanted
to say hi, thanks for all you do.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
We have the new people in the area.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Then I then when we we head out to the casino,
I got I got the gas, oh you know, and
then the Maslow's was I used comps for that too,
so taking gambling page. Yeah, well that's what that's what
Samantha says. Well, that's pretty nice that you get all
this for free.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
I said, well, but I didn't get my free gift.
You know. The what is it? It's a lasagna pan
or something. I'm not sure, but I'm going.

Speaker 5 (38:37):
To get it today.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
I could.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
I'm going to go out early today and get it.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
I won't be a lotterly, but I'll be enough early
that I can get it.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
And just didn't work right back to the car and
then no, just put.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
It behind our table or sometimes I use a cubby
in the kids quest Oh that's well, usually if I
take the kids out there, I go get it and
put it in the cubby stuff. So yeah, I'll just
keep it with us, So there's places to keep it
to store it, right, yeah, oh yeah, because we have
to be there at five forty five. Yeah, and they

(39:10):
shut that down at six. So the key is to
use the non smoking area for your swipe.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
I might do that.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Because there'll be a lot of people swiping for other
reasons tonight, so that's why.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Oh that's right, that's.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Why you have to Oh yeah, so I might go.
I'm going to watch the girls do some track running
today and then I'll be out, but i'll be out
a little bit early.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
It's a it was a busy. It's a crazy stretch,
crazy stretch. But it's gonna get nice. Now.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
My whole focus is on Brady Weekend.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Well, my mom's birthday's coming up, but Brady Weekend. Yeah,
Brady Weekend. I'm very excited.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
I'm more excited than one should be.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
Although I ran into a couple of people who said
I saw that and I would have done it too.
And it was sold out. Oh my god, it's the
greatest thing.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Yeah, they're talking about opening up new dates.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
What Yeah, where did you hear that?

Speaker 3 (40:06):
We were talking about it on a Friday. Oh you
weren't here on Friday. No, Yeah, they're talking about they
haven't done it yet, but they did say the whole
thing was sold out and they're going to try and
do some more dates because I think they were pleasantly
surprised at how many people.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Well they're doing three days and it's an hour and
a half things, so you do the math and I
don't know how many people twenty people in each tour. Maybe,
well it's only you're only going to get five hundred
people in there. It's the bree bunch. You could sell that.
You could do that every weekend. I believe for eternity

(40:43):
you could. People would come and see it. It's going
to be so great, that's what we were talking about.
I said, with everything that my family's able to do
in this world and all of the things, nobody can
get me into that Bretty house and now it's happening.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Yeah, but we got excited talking about going by our
old houses and where we used to go to school
and driving around. So we're gonna it'll be fun. Man, Stacy. Yeah,
weber back in our stomping grams on your turf, on
our turf forty five years later, forty seven years later. Yeah, craziness.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
All right, we will get to the new You know
what today is National Coffee Day. Oh oh yeah, well
he's everybody's got coffee things. We'll explain where you can
go and the fun facts about coffee people need to
know and where the people that need to tell them.
So we will have that. And then also, what would
you choose money, love or companionship? Hmm okay, we'll give

(41:48):
you the shocking report on what Americans are doing now shocking.
And then I love this because everything changes. Back in
the eighties, we have all the things that they told
us that were healthy. Yeah, and then we're finding out,
well that was a bunch of crap. So it's you know,
every once in a while you hear these things, Oh
this is good for you, this is good for you,
and then you find out ten years later, oh it

(42:09):
wasn't good for me.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Why was I doing that? Yeah, there's a lot of
those kinds of things.

Speaker 4 (42:13):
Is tab one of them?

Speaker 3 (42:15):
Diet sodas is worth So yeah, so we'll get to
all that and more. Right, it's Monday, brand new day,
brand new week. Everything is fine. We're going to start
this week in the month of September. By the time
we end this week, it'll be October.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:33):
Look at us, just piling through the year, and we
had our year anniversary celebration. We're a year old.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
We're one.

Speaker 4 (42:42):
We're one, all right.

Speaker 3 (42:46):

babysitting while people are watching and going, but yes, we
will be there.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
It will be fun, should be should be pretty good.
It's always good. It's a big event.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
I know. I love it our friends at Silverwood. Today
is National Coffee Day. Mm hmmm.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
They do it every year, is National Coffee Day, and
it lets us, you know, talk about coffee.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Yeah, in a irrelevant sort of way. Used to be
a time, used to be.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
Remember when they would say, oh, Seattle coffee capital of
the world.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
Huh remember that? Sure? Not anymore?

Speaker 4 (44:46):
Oh yeah, well, who is it now?

Speaker 2 (44:49):
Now? Believe it or not, it's Portland, Oregon. Oh well.
Still the Northwest still hangs on to us.

Speaker 4 (44:54):
As long as it's not like Tupelo, Mississippi or something.
We haven't lost our grip completely.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
No, Okay, yet they say Portland's number one, followed by Orlando,
then Long Beach, California. Then come Seattle and then Tampa.
It's kind of weird how you get to northwest and
then you also have Florida.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
Anyway, Laredo, Texas is the least, you know, lowest coffee consumption.

Speaker 4 (45:25):
They just don't like their coffee there. And what are
they based it on? Just people drinking or amount of
stands or they.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Based it on local coffee popularity, coffee roasters and shops,
coffee spending and prices, and coffee culture.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
Coffee culture got it all right.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
Now if you ask me what is coffee culture, I
have no idea. But that's that's another.

Speaker 4 (45:46):
Thing people who like coffee and talk about together.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Mm hmmmm. I did try. I have a new.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
I ran out of coffee creamer, and so when I
went to when did I go and there? What's that
Saturday morning? Or anyway, I go and I took. I
got two new flavors. One is like this Italian sweet
cream thing, and then the other is the French vanilla,
which I usually get, but it's not the not the

(46:14):
regular you know, international. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (46:18):
The one that the blue It is the Lucern it's
the best. Loocern is the best. Try this cinnamon vanilla.
That's my new favorite, because I've always done vanilla, and
I found that the lucern is my favorite because it's
not as sweet. And then they stopped with the Irish cream,
so Ken was kind of bummed. But now we both

(46:38):
can agree on this cinnamon vanilla situation, and now it's
my favorite.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Well, I saw a whole bunch of different flavors there,
and so I grabbed the Instead of the giant one
that I normally get, I got two of the smaller ones.
I thought, well, these are two different flavors. I'll try these. Yeah,
so it's pretty good. I had the Italian sweet cream
this morning, so you know that that was my in
my thing.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
It's nice to have different flavors. But yeah, if I
have to get this, the International Foods one, that's uh
that one, and then coffee mate, they're just too sweet.
But yeah, and Loocern's a lot cheaper by the way
they usually do too, you know, to like for six
dollars or something.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
So yeah, it seemed like good.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
Next time, I might just keep just buying different flavors,
and then because I think I like them all, I don't.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
None of them have been.

Speaker 4 (47:27):
Like, I just don't like hazel nut very much.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
See I used to not like hazel nut. Now you're okay,
and then now it's like.

Speaker 4 (47:34):
Oh, it's not too bad in a pinch. But I
really don't like the Irish cream. And I know you're
mister Irish cream. Ken likes the Irish cream as well.
I just I don't know. But the Talian cream, I like,
that's delicious. And then there's the pumpkin. I don't usually
do the pumpkin, but the vanilla, it's it's gut, really gut, totally.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
Got Sixty six percent of us say that we drink
at least one cup of coffee every day. That is
up almost seven percent from twenty twenty. Oh, so we're
drinking more coffee than ever before. The average coffee drinker
has nearly three cups per day.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Mine would be considered that it's an eight ounce cup
with a shot in it, like a shot of non
alcohol a shot of espresso. Okay, and that's my That's
it though for the day.

Speaker 3 (48:28):
I think I'm depending on how size how you would
size cups.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
But I have the big giant.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
You know, the windfall thing, you know that I fill
that up and I almost always can finish it.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
Yeah, that's like three cups, is it? Well a cup
would be eight ounces, so maybe it's two and a half.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
Then okay, pretty good.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
Specialty coffee is surging in popularity. Almost half of us
say they are in to some sort of specialty coffee.
That's up almost forty percent from four years ago, so
clearly something. Even though coffee prices have been going up,
last month, the average price for a pound of ground

(49:16):
roast coffee cost eight dollars and eighty seven cents. That's
up forty percent from a year ago. So that you know,
and we're not that's one thing that we Americans don't
cut back on. It's like, well it costs more, Too bad,
I'm buying it anyway.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
That's one of those things.

Speaker 4 (49:35):
I think the small, those little small coffee houses, they're
going to have to start raising. The coffee beans are
very expensive. Yeah, we're going to see it.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
There's a lot of places offering free coffee today and
all kinds of specials. Mostly you have to be part
of their club or you know, have their app or whatever, Starbucks,
Dunkin Donuts, Coffee, Bean in Tea, Uh, Panera Bread, Pete's Coffee,

(50:06):
Dutch Bros. Dutch Bros. Is doing a thing where they're
giving away car coasters. Have you seen him. Yeah, it's
a thing so all the Dutch Bros. And it's uh.
I think if you get two drinks, you get the
you get these little coasters. It's kind of a cool
thing on National Coffee Day and all. So everybody should
go there.

Speaker 4 (50:25):
By the way, they raised a bunch of money. I
don't know if we're allowed to say the totals, but
the money that they raised for that Dave Kennamully Christmas Fund.

Speaker 2 (50:32):
It was fantastic.

Speaker 4 (50:32):
Did you see that? Did you?

Speaker 2 (50:34):
Did you?

Speaker 4 (50:34):
Did you announce it?

Speaker 2 (50:36):
No? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
I think I think we're gonna I think Kevin Park
will come in and make a presentation and stuff. Okay, okay,
so that was very nice. That was a week ago Friday.
Right it was on a Friday.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
I know that.

Speaker 4 (50:52):
Yes, so, yes, it was a week ago Friday.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
Yes, very nice. Yes. Uh.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
This year a study showed that coffee can boost your
mood even on Mondays. M regular coffee drinkers feel happier
and more enthusiastic after a cup of coffee, and that
joy will linger on for two hours. Oh okay, how
they figure that out. Also this year, a study found
that coffee drinkers do live longer.

Speaker 2 (51:22):
But to do that, you.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
Have to drink your coffee and then not drink anything
after noon.

Speaker 4 (51:31):
No coffee or caffeine afternoon.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
It's what they say all day.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
Coffee addicts don't get the same benefits that the morning
coffee drinkers get.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
But there are.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
Times, and it's very rare for me, but I know
you've done it before in the afternoon, just a little
pick me up if you have something going like tonight
one might be one of those things, because we're going
to be doing the event to that and we'll probably
be going at least until ten o'clock.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
I probably tonight will go through the airway heights, touch Bros.
On my way out and bring something with me.

Speaker 5 (52:02):
I won't do it.

Speaker 4 (52:03):
Ken did? Ken was? He was drinking Red Bull at
eight thirty last time. That's crazy, and he had a
coffee too. I know he doesn't have to get up
at the same time we do, but still that is insane.

Speaker 2 (52:18):
He jerked on the juice man.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
He is mister Coffee and he can have a shot
of espresso right before bed and he sleeps right through it.
And the Red Bull, though, that's the thing. It just
sends you up and over the top.

Speaker 3 (52:29):
You know, you always have these things that like you'll say,
you'll you know, you'll never do something right. Drinking a
Red Bull is something that I can put on my list.
I will never drink another Red Bull in my life.
Nothing against the Red Bull. And I know a lot
of young people that's their thing or whatever. I don't
mind the energy drinks, but that one specifically is just

(52:51):
it's not.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
Good for me.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
You used totart to know your body after a while,
I can't do that.

Speaker 4 (52:57):
And the taste of it. I used to do the
sugar free one. I would do this sugar free one
once in a while and then that after taste. I
can't do anything sugar free anymore. I can't drink diet coke,
I can't or on that later. I can't drink any
of it. It just makes me feel crappy almost instantly.
And it's weird because I used to always put equal
in my coffee and I don't do that anymore. And

(53:18):
now if I get a hold of something that is
sugar free, it's crazy when you get used to not
ever having it. My mom's I'll have it in my coffee,
and it's weird. It makes you feel weird all day
once you get I've put it plenty of other chemicals
in my body. It's not like I'm a purist, it's
just that.

Speaker 3 (53:36):
So, yeah, I know that the a lot like red bull,
I think is a young thing.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
Yeah, the moms are not too bad.

Speaker 4 (53:46):
And it's what's the celsia? Is it called celsia selsias?

Speaker 7 (53:48):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (53:48):
Yeah, I love those, yeahse are and those are supposed
to be in the world of those kind of drinks,
supposed to be the healthiest one do have a It
does have two hundred milligrams of caffeine though, So when
you have the coffee plus that, you know, so.

Speaker 4 (54:07):
You're drinking your big thing of coffee plus having celsius.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
Yeah, but I mixed I mix it in with my water.

Speaker 4 (54:14):
Right. Wow, it keeps going.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
It keeps me going until it won't until it drops you.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
The other thing about coffee, if you love coffee, explore
what's out there.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
This is very interesting.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
A blind taste test found that almost half of us
are drinking a roast that we think we like when
we actually prefer something else.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Oh a third of.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
All people say they like dark or medium roast, but
they actually prefer one that's a bit lighter. So they
did this with people, do you know, they say, well,
I like this one. Well you said that you like this,
but you're really saying that you like that.

Speaker 5 (54:56):
It's kind of like when they do it with wine.

Speaker 4 (54:58):
Oh that you say, you're a whatever person, but this
was this and this blend and yeah, that's how they
get you.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
That is how they get you. Jerry.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
Yes, M had some good win over the weekend every place,
every place that there was an event Klinkerdagger on Friday,
then the Better Together event Friday at nor of the Quest,
great wine. Then Saturday at your event that was good wine.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
We had. We had multiple kinds of.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
Wine too, well you know what, So for the table,
so I did a blind test for the committee and
they picked that wine that we put on the table.
That was the one that we had three wines, and
that was that was scored the highest. Then the one
that scored the second highest. I bought like half a
case of that. It was a cab and I had
that in the back. Plus we had Barrister and ar

(55:46):
Recrest pouring wine. So we had the table wine and
then I think I brought you guys a bottle of
the cab, which that was my favorite of the three.
That but that that scored just below the other one.
So and it was really reasonable because it was grocery.
We got our discount and that you know, you're putting
thirty five bottles out of wine, you you know, you

(56:06):
gotta be careful of this.

Speaker 5 (56:08):
So I'm glad it was good. I liked it.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
We had well, I had the Barrister, Arborcrest, and then
I believe the two other reds.

Speaker 4 (56:18):
Yeah, those are both at your table. Did you keep
your little glass? I'll bring you on that on tasting glasses.
A lot of people didn't keep that.

Speaker 3 (56:28):
Oh yeah, yeah, that was the thing because I we
went to our table first. Yeah, I grabbed the wine
glass from there, and then I took that to the
Barrister people and the Arbor Cress people and so and
then they had little glasses there, and oh I should have.

Speaker 4 (56:41):
But anyway, they're super cute there. I'm gonna i'll in fact, yeah,
we'll figure out a way to give them out because
they're cool, they have safety in it in Northern quest
on them. So because those were big sponsors.

Speaker 3 (56:53):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know how we start talking about
coffee and then we shifted to wine.

Speaker 4 (56:58):
Because it's us. Yeah, seem to just be about gambling.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
You know.

Speaker 4 (57:02):
The best thing is we have your coffee and you're gambling.
I've never had a cup of coffee while I'm gambling.
I mean I've had I've had coffee drinks late in
the afternoon, but I've never well I take that back
in Vegas maybe in the morning.

Speaker 2 (57:18):
To say, in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
I remember one morning starting early and I think I
was with my dad actually and or you know, met
him because he's an early person too. Oh, let's go
down and play cards, and you have the coffee right
there and then and then it went right to the drinks.
Yeah that it was like, you have your coffee, you
finished that vodka, soa bring it out.

Speaker 4 (57:42):
Sometimes if I stay over at Quest and I'll get
my coffee and then I put my bags in the
car and then I go back and yeah, play a
little Yeah maybe, but.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
Here's something that doesn't go over very well.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
The average kid has their phone in their hand fifty
two percent of the time during conversations.

Speaker 4 (58:03):
I believe that.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
Yeah, I believe that's not good at all.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
New survey tells us the average kid under the age
of eighteen is holding their phone more than half of
the time when their parents are trying to have a
conversation with them. And they say, it's not just a
kid problem. The same parents say their partner is doing
that fifty eight percent of the time.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
That's where it all starts.

Speaker 3 (58:26):
Yeah, about three quarters of parents report that they have
had to have some sort of device free conversation within
the past week or so. Yeah, so some parents are
trying to make the no phone rules at certain times. Dinner, family, yeah,
movie nights.

Speaker 4 (58:46):
Sure thing. I noticed. I'm so glad that. You know,
when the kids are in school now there's no the
little girls don't have They have some tablets that they
play on, but they don't their phone is not a
thing for the little ones.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
That's good.

Speaker 5 (59:00):
By the time Alex.

Speaker 4 (59:01):
Was that age, he was he had a phone that
we had been handed down to him to play on.
It wasn't a phone phone, and he was already getting
in that addiction. And the girls don't have that, which
I'm so glad, but I noticed it with him. You know,
he's supposed to all those hours in school without it,
which is great. Yeah, and then fine, you get in
the and now you can have it for an hour

(59:22):
when you're in the car. But the summer was ridiculous.
It was just.

Speaker 5 (59:27):
We're going to see big.

Speaker 4 (59:28):
Problems down the road with all this last I already are, yeah,
but I mean it's like as they're trying to Yeah,
I think you're right, they're at the age where they
already grew up on it. Oh the phones.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
Now here's your question.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
I think it was a Jackie Kennedy onasked us that
once said the first time, you marry for love, the
second for money, the third for companionship.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Oh it's one theory anyway.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Recent USA Today says POL says that more than half
of us say love is more important than money.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
Yes. The question was inspired.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
By the previous poll where people were asked if they
would marry someone that they were in love with, knowing
that it would probably be a rocky road financially. Yeah,
sixty three percent said they would marry for love, even
if it meant a lifelong financial struggle, and generally fifty
four percent would prioritize romantic love over financial security. Only

(01:00:31):
forty six percent would choose money over love.

Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
And who's admitting to that? Yeah, I love the guy
about dead end road. I'm going to marry the rich
guy what I can't stand?

Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
Or the opposite. Yeah, I don't love them money.

Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
Yeah, yeah, but then you forego the one that you
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
There are some limits on this survey though, this was
the this help sort of answer some of that. Almost
half of people say they wouldn't date someone without a job,
even if they were attracted to them.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Yeah, they would be a non starter. You know.

Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
It's different, Like I have a job that I love.
I work for a nonprofit. But I'm only going to
make this amount of money. But I'm happy in my job.
It's just never going to have a lot. That's one thing.
The other thing is, yeah, out of work, Well what's
the prospect. I don't know, nothing's coming my way. Well
then then we're maybe not going to do that. That's different.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Yeah, uh, they say this, I'm reading from prepared texts.
Sometimes you do get a second bite at the apple.
That's their phrasing. Thirty percent of Americans would consider getting
back together with an X if that person had become rich.

Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
Well maybe maybe if if if the problem had always
been that they, you know, were we'd love them, but
they weren't working and it was like I have to
do everything. And then they get a good job or
women in lottery and then say hey, I still love you.
I've always loved you, and I'm sorry I didn't make

(01:02:12):
money before, but now I have the money, so now
we could be together because we love each other and
not have to be stressed. I could see that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
Yeah, makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Last story here. I love these kind of things going
back to the eighties. We all lived through the eighties. Okay,
these are the things, the food and drinks that they
told us. They the people are so called experts, scientists,
blah blah blah that said these were healthy things. Okay,
and we're finding out now that they weren't healthy.

Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
Fruit juice, oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
One cup of orange juice has the same amount of
sugar as five oranges.

Speaker 4 (01:02:52):
Jeez.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
They say your best option nowadays is the freshly.

Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
Squeezed I think that it's it has a lot of sugar,
but it's it's a good sugar, it's got the vitamins
in it. And if it's fresh, squeezed and not had
a bunch of crap added to it, then it's still
there are some value too, there's some value, and orange juice.

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Would be in a separate category.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
I know when the kids were little and it was like, oh,
apple juice and apple juice was and there's nothing wrong
with real apple juice. I'm not, you know, because I
know we're in the apple yeah capital of the world
or whatever. But these apple juices are jacked full of sugar,
and it's fake sugar. It's sugar added into the apple juice,
you know.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Yeah, all those juice boxes, they're convenient, but they're a
little little box sugar.

Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
Granola bars they're better now, but back then when they said,
oh granola bar, a lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:03:48):
Those were loaded with preservatives and sugar.

Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Yeah, remember lean cuisine. Yes, things were terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
They were low in protein, high in sodium. They tasted great.
In fact, they probably tasted too good and people thought,
you know, oh, it's lin cuisine, I'm doing a good thing.

Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
And it was not so much.

Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
There was also a sugar packed into those. I remember
finding out later yes, it's low in calories, but it's
all sugar and sodium just not good for your body.

Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
And then I hate to say it, but it's a
diet soda.

Speaker 4 (01:04:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
For years, diet sodas were marked as the healthier, a
healthier alternative to full sugar soda, but aspartame in the
diet soda has proven to cause weight gain and other
negative side effects. I will say this, I think that
is a I think you can get away with a
little bit of it, and then when you get into

(01:04:45):
the higher amount, then you're that's the problem. And I,
you know, I cut back. I just basically have the
one a day. Yeah, you know, the McDonald's one, and
it's what is that probably sixteen ounces, twenty ounces whatever
the thing is.

Speaker 4 (01:04:59):
I used to sit on at the casino all the time.
That was my I would do diet pepsi with a
splash of cherry pepsi or lemonade, and it was so good.
But I would drink a lot of those, and now
I do these storry. I like that story. I like
it better than sprite, and I like it better than
seven up.

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
It's a bold statement.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
It's really good. It is.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
It makes.

Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
The company who make it's pepsi where it used to
be seven up. I think they had there or something.
I don't remember what they used to seramist. Yes, they
used to have ceramist and now it's starry and I
like it because I was at a different place than
they had sprite and I could really taste the difference.
Storry's nice and lights not a sugary, not sweet. But
that's what I sip on, which isn't probably the best.

Speaker 3 (01:05:43):
But other things they told us in the eighties that
were healthy. The sports drinks Gatorade and power Aid were
sold as a healthy way to get hydrated, but most
people are not sweating enough to justify it. Instead, you're
just taking in a lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
Sugar and sodium too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
Cereal, We grew up on cereal. Oh man, all the
different flavors of cereal. It was almost like a dessert
really for breakfast. Cereal is ultra processed and usually has
is usually high in saturated fats and sugars. The bright
artificial colors should probably be the giveaway for us. But

(01:06:29):
you know, yeah, dairy milk. Milk commercials who are a
way of life in the eighties. If you wanted strong bones,
supposed drink a lot of milk. Now, if you drink
too much of milk, you spend extra time on the toilet.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
Oh, it says.

Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
Other things on the list margarine, Yeah, fat yogurt, veggie patties.
A lot of those are packed with a lot of chemicals,
and people say, oh, I'm gonna have the veggie burger instead.

Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
And you look at all the ingredients of the time. Yeah,
none of that looks real.

Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
And they're high in calories too.

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
Sometimes slim fast shakes, yeah, in sugar free candy.

Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
Yeah, Well, thanks for ruining our whole childhood, our whole
formative years. The eighties were, you know, that's for me.
The eighties were when my metabolism was getting set up right,
So the teenage years where you struggle anyway, and all
those things were I'm just gonna have a granola bar

(01:07:31):
and a gatorade and I'll be fine. This will be great.
When I was watching that show My six hundred Pound Life,
you know, I was obsessed, and these two gals were
six hundred pounds, and I remember they went to the
nutritionists and they were from the South, and they said,
she said, well, I got to have my SOUDI and
the nutritionists said, well, how what do you mean soda?

(01:07:52):
It's madat sody And she said, well, how many do
you have of those a day? And it was like
twelve or thirteen and she said, well, mom, mom told
me if I eat a lot, just to bounce it
out with one of these diet sodis and it'll make
it all go away. And the nutrition just just looked
at her. She's like, your mom said what now, Well,
I just have to bounce it out with one of
these syr sodis. So she was and they said this

(01:08:17):
is a huge part of why, you know. And once
they cut out the diet soda, they started losing weight.
And so that was one of those things that you
just yeah, I think it's.

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Become the the diet soda part is not well just
I'm just me talking. I'm not drinking it because I'm thinking, oh,
I'm drinking a diet soda because it's.

Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
You know better. I like it. Taste of it is
what is my thing.

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
But there was a time when I remember in Texas,
we used to have a it was a bottle machine
like you would you know, you put in your money
and a bottle would come out. Yeah, and I had,
you know, I do a day show, you know, I
was doing the news and sports and you know, filling
in and all this stuff. And for one morning, I

(01:09:07):
had eight of those bottles and they were all that
was every day.

Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
I know, that was bad.

Speaker 4 (01:09:13):
Do you remember our conversation with Mary Lou Henner years ago?
We interviewed her and she was talking about health and
stuff and you told her about your diet cokes and
she lost her mind. Oh god, deep, oh god, no, no,
don't do that. Yes, but she was one that would
eat seaweed. I mean she she I don't know what

(01:09:36):
her joy indulgence is. There are some people that you
just think, Okay, she looks amazing, she does she got
energy galore. But then you say, okay, but what is
the thing that you splurge on. What if you're going
to treat yourself to something, is it an ice cream?

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Is?

Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
And does it have to be the tofu vegan ice cream?
Or you know, I mean I get that there's this
whole staying alive and you know, being alive forever and everything,
but at some point it's like with the dogs, like, yes,
maybe they live an extra six months if you don't
give them the treats off of the table, but have

(01:10:14):
a little joy in your life. Yeah right, Yeah, I
just think there has to be something. And she was
so disciplined always, but I just remember her freaking out
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
I think she had just a you know, she had
a freak brain too.

Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
Yes, she was.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
You know, she was one of those people that literally
could remember every single day of her life. Yeah, and
not an exaggeration, she was. I remember seeing her on
sixty minutes. There was only like seven people in the
history of the world that had what she had. So
with that brain, you're yeah, you know, they're gonna they're
gonna have other quirks and idiosyncrasies that go.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Along with that.

Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
And how would be a blessing and a curse to remember?
You know, there are certain days you just want to
forget and you're glad that they fade in your memory,
those horrible days where you just think, the more time
you get away from those horrible days, the better life
is on the other side of it, and it doesn't
creep in unless something stirs it. So to have it

(01:11:11):
be fresh every single time, yeah, that would be God.
I can't even imagine keeping track of I can't even
keep track of the last three days because I had
an extra day off. I'm like, what did I do?
Where it was? I M.

Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
All right, yes, all.

Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Right, we have We'll get to the entertainment news. We
have a couple of major announcements. They do have the
announcement for the halftime show of the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
What is it good?

Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
I think it's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
Yeah, you know, okay, yeah, I will tell you.

Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
Who they were talking to.

Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
And then the person they were talking to said, oh,
you guys aren't paying me, I'm out, and so then
they yeah, so many ways.

Speaker 4 (01:11:59):
They don't paid anything to do with Super interesting. But
players are sure as hell getting a lot of money.
The coaches are getting a lot of money. The TV
stations are getting a lot of money. The owners are
getting a lot of money. Why wouldn't they give the
performers a lot of money?

Speaker 3 (01:12:16):
Because it's the NFL, and they figure, hey, crazy, you're
going to get exposure like you've never had before.

Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
So if you're certain people, oh my god, that's crazy. Though,
they should be paying. They should have a set amount
and just say, okay, no matter who it is, it's
two hundred thousand dollars. That's how much you get, and
that's for all your expenses and your dancers and whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
And that's probably pay for some expenses. I would think
they have.

Speaker 5 (01:12:41):
To pay a little bit because they're on TVs.

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
The You've got to pay some kind of security thing.

Speaker 4 (01:12:45):
Too, Yeah, depending on who it is.

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
Anyway, So we'll get to that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
And then there was a big celebrity wedding over the
weekend too.

Speaker 4 (01:12:55):
Oh it was it Jayligan. Okay, no, but of course, yeah,
all right, we'll get to all that and more when
we return the entertainments.

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
And then we need someone to play the showdown. If
you want to play, you got to check in with us.
Molly's back, you head. I know you had the questions
on Friday too. Yeah, you have the five dollars question,
which I did not get. Megan did get.

Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
I didn't. I wish i'd known. I would have given
her five dollars. She was there Saturday night. I would
have handed her five bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
I do have one today. I'm circling it now.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
Okay, so how much is it worth?

Speaker 4 (01:13:30):
Five dollars? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
I can use money.

Entertainment News brought to you by Golden Rule Break.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
All right, you ready for entertainment news. Let's start with
Taylor Swift.

Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
What about her?

Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
They wanted her to do the halftime show.

Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
Yeah, and the word is she turned them down.

Speaker 4 (01:15:50):
Not because of the money though really.

Speaker 3 (01:15:53):
As Yeah, she was in negotiations, but turned it down
because she didn't want to do it for free. An
unnamed music executive said she wasn't asking for favors, she
was asking for respect. Taylor knows her worth, She knows
the kind of ratings that she brings in the global
attention that she commands. She wasn't going to do it

(01:16:15):
for free, so she's not doing it.

Speaker 5 (01:16:19):
M bad Bunny is Oh boy, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:16:23):
Big year for Bad Bunny. Yes, it is Super Bowl sixty.
That'll be February eighth, Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Speaker 2 (01:16:30):
That's where the forty nine ers play.

Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
Oh yeah, Bad Bunny will be the And they made
the big announcement during the Sunday Night Football last night,
which there were rumors of that and everything, but they
went to break and they said, oh, when we come back,
we're going to have the big announcement, and so I
went on Twitter and then it was like they get
it like a few minutes ahead. Obviously they had to

(01:16:53):
have known early to put the graphics up and everything.
So anyway, so that is happening, Okay, as your and
he's also hosting Saturday Night Live.

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Yeah this week?

Speaker 4 (01:17:05):
Is it this Saturday?

Speaker 2 (01:17:06):
I think so? Is it? Yeah? I think it's what
He's one of the first three I know.

Speaker 5 (01:17:15):
But are they starting this Saturday?

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Is that part?

Speaker 8 (01:17:17):
They are?

Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
For sure?

Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Okay, October fourth is the first one. Excellent, So.

Speaker 4 (01:17:24):
I thought I thought Bad Bunny on there. Well, I
think he's a good choice. He'll be a lot of fun.
That'll be a great show. Did they say who's going
to sing the national anthemony of that stuff?

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Yet? Not that part yet?

Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Yeah, Bad Bunny and Doja Cat Oh Yeah, will be
the Saturday Night Live going young.

Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
Very hip. And you know, Taylor Swift makes a good
point because that is the one artist on the planet
that I can say people more. She will get more
people to tune in because she's on it.

Speaker 5 (01:17:57):
Then we'll learn about her on it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
So for somebody like Bad Bunny, you know, we know
who he is and stuff, and he's popular, but a
huge audience will be exposed to him that he wouldn't
normally be able to reach.

Speaker 5 (01:18:09):
Right with her, it's the reverse.

Speaker 4 (01:18:11):
People would be tuning in just for her, and so
because of that, there's no need. She doesn't need the
exposure she doesn't need, and she'll bring in a bunch
of people.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
You know, Bad Bunny is the most streamed artist in
the world. Wow, yeah, with the youngers right, well, with
with like the total streams yeah worldwide.

Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
Well then my point is rocked. Well. But the other
thing is, if I'm Taylor Swift and I'm locked into
a super Bowl whether my boyfriend makes it in or not.
That's kind of well.

Speaker 3 (01:18:48):
And I got some news for Swifty. Oh, her boyfriend's
not making it to the super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:18:52):
No, you don't think so.

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
And I'm mister chief they won this. I love the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
Yeah, but they're Yeah, you tell Swift. I don't want
to tell her.

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
I don't want to break the bad news. M I might.

Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
I mean, let me back down from that. It's it's
still pretty open. Buffalo Bills are gonna be really tough.
Quinn's going to be very happy. I think my Lions, Lions, Lions.

Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Yeah, I think it's going to be a Lions Bill's
super Bowl. And then the Bills will win, Okay, and
then I'll be happy for him. I'll be happy for
Quinn that.

Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
His team made it to the super Bowl and lost again.

Speaker 4 (01:19:27):
No, no, no, the Lions will not win the Boat.
The Bills are going to win the super Bills will
win the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
I would love it if the Bills won this, Yes.

Speaker 4 (01:19:35):
But I believed they will be my beloved Lions that
are there with them.

Speaker 5 (01:19:38):
Rory, Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:19:39):
And then and it'll be two teams that the whole
country will be like these poor teams something, you know,
it's something.

Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
Good football is so great though, I mean you just
never know. It's yeah, crapshoot every year.

Speaker 4 (01:19:57):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
And the Swifty was not at the Chiefs. It was
in chief Land yesterday. It was Chiefs and Ravens. And
on paper when that one was set up, it's like, oh,
this is this is a big you know, this would
be the AFC Championship game style kind of a thing. Well,
the Ravens are a mess right now. They're they're you know,
when you see a good team that doesn't have all

(01:20:18):
their players, you just sort of feel bad. So that's
what happens with the Chiefs, you know. And Chiefs are
getting players back now. So there, you know, they did
the Chiefly things and wiped them all out.

Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
But Swifty was not there.

Speaker 4 (01:20:31):
Where was she?

Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
She was at a wedding Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.
Oh got married over the weekend.

Speaker 5 (01:20:39):
Aren't they best friends?

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Is that she's very good friends with Selena Gomez? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:20:44):
I thought.

Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
The wedding was in Santa Barbara, California, at the c
Crest Nursery.

Speaker 6 (01:20:54):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
Celebrities there included Swifty, Ed Sheeran, Steve Martin, Martin Short,
Paul Rudd, Yeah, and Paris Hilton, just to name a few.

Speaker 4 (01:21:08):
Well, that's nice.

Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
And then they posted, you know, stuff like crazy. Selena
Gomez is still one of the most you know, popular
people on social media, so they've they've did a bunch
of you know posts right away. And then in his post,
Benny Blanco's post, he said, a real life Disney princess
and those pictures of her.

Speaker 4 (01:21:30):
Ah, that's sweet. I like how her career is sort
of branched out to the acting and everything, and she
does a little bit of everything, and.

Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
She loves Steve Martin and Martin Short. I think they,
you know, they gave her a chance. I think it
was their their deal and they you know that only
murders in the building thing, and you know, they're kind
of like father figures too. Well, yes, true grit, Yeah,

(01:22:00):
that's probably true.

Speaker 4 (01:22:01):
But a great thing though, that's the perfect thing. You
get two pros who are so happy and content with themselves,
don't have the ego of an up and coming They
know everything. You can learn a bunch of stuff from them.
And then they're funny and they're kind what a great
scenario for her.

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
Pretty cool, yeah, ed Shearan and Taylor Swift gave speeches
at the reception, and then Martin Short and Steve Martin
gave one together at the rehearsal dinner.

Speaker 5 (01:22:29):
I bet they did.

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
And they probably chatted for a long time. You mentioned
the grandfather part of it. Selena Gomez was given away
by her grandfather, oh, even though her.

Speaker 2 (01:22:42):
Father was there. Interesting, that's what a lot of people
were saying.

Speaker 4 (01:22:49):
Well, see if you're like if she was like me,
you know, the dad will get to do it next time.
But no, but that's not the plan. That's not the plan. No,
sure enough.

Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
And then Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco hired the same
wedding planner that Justin and Hailey Bieber used.

Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
Keep it all together.

Speaker 4 (01:23:09):
Imagine the pressure being a wedding planner to the stars,
just just planning events, like you know, on the small
scale that we've been dealing with this event, right, and
and this is just everybody's going to be fine with
whatever happens. I can't even imagine the pressure of at

(01:23:29):
that level. Well, and then the doves are going to
fly out here, and then this is going to drop
here and then make sure.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
You're looking in this direction, because we have the photographer
is going to shoot it from this angle.

Speaker 4 (01:23:41):
And then the weather and then oh my god, and
then all the celebrities who come and security. Yeah, I
can't imagine.

Speaker 3 (01:23:50):
Here's another big star, big star news. Dolly Parton, did
you hear about this? No, she had to cancel some
of her shows. What it says when they don't they're
not very specific on this ongoing health issues. Oh no, yeah,
she's postponing her December run of shows at Caesar's Palace
in Vegas. In an Instagram post the other day, she

(01:24:11):
explained that she's been dealing with ongoing health issues and
her team has suggested that she undergo several medical procedures,
like several That means, yeah, that's what everybody's kind of
concerned about.

Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
Dolly very cleverly said that she had told her doctors,
guess it's.

Speaker 2 (01:24:34):
Time for my one hundred thousand mile checkup.

Speaker 5 (01:24:37):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
She's very funny.

Speaker 4 (01:24:39):
How old is she? Does it say? She's got to
be seventy five?

Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
Oh yeah, more than.

Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
That, Yeah, she might be eighty. You think somebody will know.

Speaker 4 (01:24:49):
I'll look it up.

Speaker 2 (01:24:50):
Special m look it up special.

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
The six December concerts that were scheduled for Caesar's in Vegas,
they've been moved to September. Okay, so that's nine you know, yeah,
ten months. So I don't know what kind of medical procedures,
but yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:25:10):
They have all over here. She's seventy nine, by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:25:13):
Okay, but yeah, it's her birthday.

Speaker 4 (01:25:15):
I can't remember her birthday January nineteenth of nineteen forty six,
and then her nineteen that's right. Her husband, she was
married to her husband. They got married in nineteen sixty six,
still married. He died last year.

Speaker 2 (01:25:30):
Oh well then death do they part?

Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
Yes, that had to be right.

Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
Herdey's a breast man, that's what I heard, Dave, Well,
I heard that.

Speaker 4 (01:25:39):
That's some respect. It's terrible. Yeah, he's a hooter man.

Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
How old was he when he died?

Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
I think they were about the same age. Yeah, I
was just looking at more of Yeah, a few procedures,
and she said, though it's not my usual trip to
the plastic surgeon.

Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
She jokes about it.

Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
Well else, she said, don't worry about me quitting the business,
because God hasn't said anything about stopping it. But I
believe he's telling me to slow down right now, that's
what she said.

Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
Are you adding that to your list.

Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Of no, okay, okay, that's all right.

Speaker 4 (01:26:24):
I used to have a good riva, but my voice
is too hoarse right now, adding the list.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
And then Snoop Dogg.

Speaker 3 (01:26:37):
You know, Snoop, but Snoop Dogg was a big hit
when he was doing the Summer Olympics.

Speaker 4 (01:26:41):
Yeah, remember, yeah, yeah, they're bringing him back as they
shut Yeah, I think they.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
I think that it tested well, not only with young people,
but you know, and we can put ourselves. You know,
we're in the older category now. But Snoop Dogg to
us is still oh he's cool.

Speaker 4 (01:26:57):
Yeah, that's very much there.

Speaker 3 (01:26:58):
So anyway, he will be part of NBC's Winter Olympic coverage.

Speaker 5 (01:27:02):
Wow, and that'll be starting.

Speaker 4 (01:27:03):
Well. Is that February is after the super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
After the super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (01:27:08):
Or is it January?

Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
No, it's February, February, Mark, Yeah, Well, it's like it's
like I believe it's like right after the super Bowl,
makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
And then I don't think it goes into March. I
think it's probably like the you know, two weeks of.

Speaker 4 (01:27:23):
So speaking of Snoop Dogg. There's this thing that pops
up on my Facebook all the time and it's a
dad and his daughter and they do lip syncing and
they're always in their car kind of they have and
it's really good. They do great, really great. They'll do wrap,
they'll do rock.

Speaker 5 (01:27:38):
Well.

Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
They got Snoop Dogg to be in their video, Oh Joe,
And so they're in the car and it's a Snoop
Dogg and it's the it was one of his first
popular I'm Snoop or whatever. Anyway, so they do the
beginning and when it comes time for Snoops part, he
pops up in between the two of them in the
back seat and he does his whole rap, but he's

(01:28:01):
lip syncing, and then they do their stuff. And because
he was in Australia and so they're really popular, they'd
been doing this since she was a baby, and they're
they they're they're very funny, very good at what they do.
But anyway, I thought it was so cool of him
to to show up and be on the video with them.

(01:28:21):
It's pretty big and it was I can't remember what
song was, but it's really fast wrapping and of course
he can do it because he's snoop dogg.

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
I look who's here. It's our friend Calai.

Speaker 6 (01:28:31):
Hello, Klaie, Monday morning.

Speaker 4 (01:28:33):
How are you?

Speaker 6 (01:28:34):
How are you guys?

Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
Remember when Calai showed up at our anniversary event?

Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
It was so great? Oh my god.

Speaker 6 (01:28:39):
I haven't seen you guys since then, but I told
it so fun.

Speaker 4 (01:28:43):
I told him, I said, she's not Here's here? Was
Let me just tell you this, okay. I bet him
one hundred to one odds that you would not show up.
He was risking one dollar. I was risking one hundred.
Sam gave him the odds where it was five dollars
ten to one, so he had he could either lose

(01:29:05):
six dollars total or win one hundred and fifty dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
I think it's a good bet on my party.

Speaker 4 (01:29:10):
Okay, yeah, no kidding.

Speaker 6 (01:29:11):
But based on what you knew going into the party,
what made you think I was going to come?

Speaker 5 (01:29:17):
That's what I said.

Speaker 4 (01:29:19):
He kept. He kept put, well, you know there's rumblings,
there's there's things happening. And I said, I don't think
so she's having her own gathering.

Speaker 2 (01:29:27):
I believed. I held out hope, and.

Speaker 4 (01:29:29):
He acted like he had insight information. He goes what
going to happen?

Speaker 6 (01:29:33):
Yeah, he was responding like the guy to the person
who says maybe, and you believe that maybe means maybe.

Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:29:43):
When you guys, when you invited me and invited me
the day before the party, I said probably.

Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
Not right well and you even said probably not. And
aren't you glad that I'm telling you that? Because yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 6 (01:29:56):
Is he like like the epitome of like just like
I'm a good gambler because he's going to take a
bet or a good gambler because we're always rolling to gamble.

Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
Like I believed it was a value bet.

Speaker 3 (01:30:10):
Okay, I'm risking six dollars to win one hundred.

Speaker 6 (01:30:13):
And FID point. That's a good point.

Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
And you never knew all.

Speaker 3 (01:30:16):
I mean, it could have been a deal where it's like,
you know, in the afternoon, maybe one of your friends
texts a, Hey, I'm not feeling well, I'm not gonna come.
What if we reschedule and then all of a sudden
you're free.

Speaker 2 (01:30:25):
Maybe.

Speaker 6 (01:30:25):
Yeah, that's a good point.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
You know, you take your shots.

Speaker 6 (01:30:28):
That's a good point.

Speaker 5 (01:30:29):
He believed you were going to show.

Speaker 6 (01:30:30):
But you guys had so much fun we did.

Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
It was great. You are so sweet. Yeah, we had
a great time, really fun and.

Speaker 6 (01:30:37):
Been connecting with everybody that you talk to every day,
but you never get to hear from yep. Yeah, roll
the text line.

Speaker 4 (01:30:43):
Well, in fact, D and D Steve who just checked in,
he was there. And when when somebody says I'm D
and D Steve, everybody is WHOA D. D. Sezier or
Randy number forties or what.

Speaker 5 (01:30:55):
And then they had girls.

Speaker 4 (01:30:56):
There was a mother daughter and her she had her
number on it and her daughter had of that number
and they had made up shirts.

Speaker 6 (01:31:03):
And that's so fun because every year listeners all get
a number, the Power two hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:31:08):
The first two hundred we had that on the other show.
We were up to thirty nine hundred. Yeah, but the
deal was we all had to be together to welcome
them here. Because people time shift listen, it's a little
different to get somebody live, a different person to interview
and then fit it into their schedule. So we cut
it off at two hundred, and the Power two hundred

(01:31:29):
gets its It has its advantages and it's privileges.

Speaker 6 (01:31:32):
Oh that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
Yeah, we're up to two today. This is our two
hundred and forty third show.

Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
Awesome congrashulations. Yeah, you guys are officially into your second year. Now, okay,
speaking of that bet, Sam got five right.

Speaker 4 (01:31:48):
You got five dollars. I got a dollar.

Speaker 6 (01:31:50):
I did pay, Yes, you did, because after you paid
him last week, he came down and to give you
a back backstory, basically, Sam gave me the five dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
When he came down, he gave you the five p Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:32:04):
He gave me the five dollars, but it's because he
owed me sixty dollars. So the backstory is he was
going to get a deal, because you know he loves deals.
He was going to get a deal on Factor Meals
if like something along the lines of, like if we
bought Factor Meals for whatever cost, he was going to
get a kickback, and then he was going to give

(01:32:25):
us part, give me part of the kickback, which was
sixty dollars.

Speaker 4 (01:32:29):
Do you know what Factor Meals are? No, they are
the pre made meals that you can get delivered to
your house.

Speaker 6 (01:32:34):
Yeah okay, yeah, So I'm like I'm not doing that,
but I go, ah, ask my mom, because my mom's
always down for a deal too. So I'm like, Okay,
if my mom does it, you Sam can give her
sixty bucks. This is like six months ago, and I
was like, well, Mom'll just give you sixty dollars. I
don't know how Sam would get it to or what.
So last week Sam says to me, did I ever
pay your mom that sixty dollars? And I said no,

(01:32:55):
I go but I paid my mom and so you
owe me sixty dollars. He's like, oh, I feel so bad.
Oh I'm like no, it's fine, like whatever. So then
he gets you, gets five dollars from you. Yes. The
night day and payment plan comes down and he gives
me five dollars and he says, cli, I'm going to
give I'm going to do a payment plan, and I go, okay,

(01:33:20):
thank you, Like you obviously don't feel so bad because
it's been six months and you just gave me five dollars. Yeah,
and like fine whatever. I obviously never really cared that much.
But I'm laughing that you are going to pay me
now and you allegedly feel so bad and you're giving
me five ones.

Speaker 2 (01:33:38):
Well I gave him five.

Speaker 4 (01:33:39):
Yes, it's the worst.

Speaker 6 (01:33:41):
So like so anyway, Jenny's standing there and I go
back and tell Jenny the whole story about how he
owes me sixty dollars and he's like fine, and he
gets out his wallet and he gives me fifty five dollars.

Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
And I go, why did you give this to me
in the first py?

Speaker 2 (01:33:57):
Yeah, he had it the whole time.

Speaker 6 (01:33:59):
Yes, I'm like, wait, so you could have you cave,
you came down, you gave me five once, and you
said I'm going to do a payment plan.

Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
When you had.

Speaker 6 (01:34:07):
Fifty five dollars in your wallet.

Speaker 2 (01:34:09):
You could have given me.

Speaker 8 (01:34:11):
I don't go.

Speaker 6 (01:34:11):
And I love that we're so close that this is
not awkward at all, Like I don't I didn't feel
bad that I didn't have your the sixty dollars. And
I also now don't feel bad that I just got
paid and you will trying not to give me the money,
and I don't even feel bad.

Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
Yes, thank you.

Speaker 6 (01:34:26):
I'll take this fifty dollars bill of five and these
five ones that wowstic.

Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
So I love the backstory that could.

Speaker 6 (01:34:34):
To say, if it wasn't if if it wasn't for
you making you making that bet, yeah, you and him
winning five ones I have, I probably would still be
sixty dollars in the hole. So you are the winner.

Speaker 4 (01:34:48):
And you didn't have to try because you you fronted him.

Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
I mean you paid your mom, so yeah he did,
he owed.

Speaker 4 (01:34:55):
You exactly are they still using these factor meals? The meal? Well,
so that happened and ended a long time ago, right, It.

Speaker 6 (01:35:03):
Was like, you know, you get a or and I
think that's why I didn't want to do it because
my mom does it all the time and she does
not care, you know how, like you can get a deal,
but then you have to cancel your subscription. So that
was like there was steps I had to take where
I'm like, I'm not going to do that, but my
mom probably wouldn't care, she'd do it. Yeah, that's that's
all how that happened.

Speaker 4 (01:35:20):
Oh, those are always if you get those meals, those
pre made, either pre cooked or pre meal. There's always
the thing if you can get a friend, then you
get a bunch of meals free. And yeah there was
you know thirty dollars gift certificate. Well it's three hundred dollars,
so this isn't very helpful, right, Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:35:36):
Yeah, but for some people, they're like my mom's retired,
she's always loved to deal, so she's like, yeah, I'll
do that. And she'll remember to actually go cancel the
subscription or whatever I get to do.

Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
I have more stuff today.

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
Yeah. I always thought, oh, I'll just do it for
the introductory rate and then and then you forget about it,
and yeah, that's how.

Speaker 2 (01:35:55):
They get you.

Speaker 4 (01:35:55):
Yeah, I just got our Mary Hill. Speaking of that,
all of a sudden rockets. Oh, we see a large transaction.
It's more wine. Yes, yes, the wine club. And I
like being subscribed to that. I don't want to unsubscribe.

Speaker 6 (01:36:09):
You never get sad when that comes to your house.
Does it delivery or is it no?

Speaker 4 (01:36:14):
I go pick it up.

Speaker 6 (01:36:15):
Yeah. That's kind of fun too, though, because then that's
what excuse to stop by.

Speaker 4 (01:36:18):
Dave's got some deliveries from walla wall right, they come.

Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
I had two in one day last week, A lot
of wine. I had a lot of wite in the house.
How's the weekend? It was good.

Speaker 6 (01:36:29):
My friend, you guys know Tori. She was Tory Brennetti
when we all went together. Yeah, so she and I
we we all worked together, like I think she left
Spokane in two thousand and eight, but we stayed close.
Our husbands are friends. They live in Denver now, so
I see her a couple of times a year, and
so she's still doing TV.

Speaker 8 (01:36:47):
No.

Speaker 6 (01:36:47):
She after she left Spokane, she basically raised four kids.
She's still raising them, had four kids raising them, and
then she actually just went back to school. She's getting
her master's and she's teaching middle school history.

Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
Now. Oh my gosh.

Speaker 6 (01:37:01):
Yeah, so so different. We were talking about that too,
like like I think, just like you never realize how
much like your career could change or what you're going
to do, and like I think you guys and even me,
like pretty unique that we've been in the same career
for so long.

Speaker 4 (01:37:19):
Ert is talking about that because Tom Sherry was our
auctioneer and my boyfriend was the MC and Dave brought
up he said, you know, we all went to radio
school together. We've known each other all these years, went
to radio school together, and and everybody, i mean, Ken
is now a firefighter.

Speaker 5 (01:37:33):
But that we're all still doing this.

Speaker 4 (01:37:36):
Is pretty pretty unique and in the same town extra unique.

Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
Yeah. Really, Tom did the whole time in the same town.

Speaker 4 (01:37:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:37:45):
Really, so he started here.

Speaker 3 (01:37:47):
Yeah, he never he never left shame with Arken Ken Hopkins,
you know, he started here, stay here the whole time.

Speaker 2 (01:37:55):
Tom Sherry all over the place.

Speaker 6 (01:37:57):
But Tom Sherry started in radio.

Speaker 4 (01:37:58):
M m oh, I didn't up, I've been I only
worked here, but I started a lot later.

Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
That was thirty, so he was he.

Speaker 3 (01:38:06):
Was doing radio, and then they had him fill in
for a guy who was doing weekend weather. And then
it was I don't know if you remember, named Peter Colford,
who was a really really good guy. He had cancer
and so he was dealing with cancer situation. So Tom
kind of filled in and then it just he just

(01:38:27):
became the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
So that's how that's a that's a TV career, R at
the end in a fantastic career in this market.

Speaker 6 (01:38:34):
Oh that's so cool.

Speaker 2 (01:38:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:38:36):
So now he does kind of what Stephanie Vigel does.
He went to school for auctioneering and so then he
goes and auctions and stuff stuff, and he did a
great job.

Speaker 5 (01:38:44):
Yeah, he was a lot of fun.

Speaker 6 (01:38:45):
He's good and yeah, you're a revenge sounded like it
was going to be awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:38:49):
It was fun, Yes, it was.

Speaker 6 (01:38:51):
And you guys raised a.

Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
Lot of money.

Speaker 4 (01:38:52):
We did well, Yeah we did.

Speaker 6 (01:38:54):
Did you guys have like a specific goal this year?

Speaker 4 (01:38:56):
No, because I was in charge and I don't think
about anything like that. We also didn't have a budget
because I was in charge. I'm looking at the past years.

Speaker 5 (01:39:04):
And it's like, this is how much we spent on this.
This is how much we spent on this.

Speaker 4 (01:39:08):
The one funny thing is though, our sweet Quinn was
in charge of the video and.

Speaker 5 (01:39:15):
We looked up at.

Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
The screen and it had a you know, you have
a scrolling screen with all your sponsors on it and
then you're going to do the video presentation and stuff.
While one of our board members walks up and he's like, Molly,
the screen, something's wrong and it said spose nerves instead
of sponsors. But it was Quinn who had written it.
And so Quinn's there and he's.

Speaker 5 (01:39:36):
Like, oh I want to die.

Speaker 4 (01:39:38):
Oh my god, I'm so embarrassed. And he couldn't change
it at that point. Those were slides that had been built.
But so Mike Ken I just like, just make a
joke out of it, just say, you know, other people
have sponsors, we have spose nurs. We just prefer sposters,
and please if you're sposed or please give yourself. But
he did a great job on the video and stuff.
So yeah, we didn't really have a goal, but.

Speaker 6 (01:39:59):
And it was your Ken, And.

Speaker 4 (01:40:02):
Yeah, they do a great job together. They're very I
just you know, and you'll know this because you've done
a million of these auctions and YouTube, Dave. The worst
part for me if I'm asked to come is that
pre thing where you're telling everybody, hey, there's raffles and
there's silent auction, and because nobody really knows who you
are yet, or it's just a voice, and I prefer

(01:40:26):
a male voice doing that. I just think it's more pleasing.
And Ken has a really nice voice for that. He's
not over the top, you know, ah, you know doing that,
He's just telling everybody, and I think he's perfect. And
then and he was really great helping Tom Sheherry. So
it worked out well. I like having those guys. I
used to do it all myself. I used to end

(01:40:48):
see it and do the auction myself.

Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
If you do all of it in one thing, you're
wiped out.

Speaker 4 (01:40:53):
Plus we I was the planner.

Speaker 6 (01:40:55):
Yeah, it was like, yeah, you were the planner too, Yes, yes,
I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:40:59):
Very just hearing this, Yeah, it was it's a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:41:03):
Have you ever had auction stuff?

Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
A few small things and and and this was years ago,
and I just I have learned to be like listen,
like pay the money for a professional auctioneer, and you're
going to make that money back multiple times.

Speaker 4 (01:41:22):
Depending on your crowd. Yes, I do think there's a
time and a place. When we were first starting out,
paying an auctioneer would not have We couldn't afford it,
you know what I mean. So we were building and
people liked that it was casual and funny and like
I made it into a bit. But then once you
cross over and you're like, oh, okay, now now that's
going to pay it, because you also don't want an

(01:41:43):
auctioneer who has a crowd they can't get the money from,
and now they're pushing because they know they're getting paid,
and so you're like, oh god, everybody's miserable. So I
do think there's that threshold. But for a big auctions,
for sure, you need a Stephanie or a Tom Sharrier.

Speaker 6 (01:41:58):
Or maybe even if it's small, like it's a silent auction,
if you don't have the people to like do it.
And I think sometimes I have done it, like and
again this is years ago, like you know, I get
like say I remember it specifically. It was like some
handbags and I'm like, I'm at a number here, but
then you forget where you're at where like trying to
work the crowd, and then someone else bids and then

(01:42:19):
I'm like where where was I I don't remember specifically
the numbers of where you're at, I think is the
hard part.

Speaker 4 (01:42:25):
That's what they go to school.

Speaker 2 (01:42:26):
Foreer school. I like that all went to the same
one too. Yeah it's in Montana, all right, yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:42:35):
Or is it online?

Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
No, it's a physical. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
You go to a place and you sit in classrooms
and like they go through the whole stuff.

Speaker 6 (01:42:42):
And it's so like I mean if you think about
like raffles, like it like ranching or you know, farm
equipment or all that.

Speaker 4 (01:42:49):
Doing those sessions.

Speaker 6 (01:42:50):
Yeah, so that's a whole other I mean I assume
it's like similar in like the way you bid people
up and like keep track, but like you know, you're
not wearing like a stuff individual gown if you're like
doing farm equipment.

Speaker 4 (01:43:03):
So I think that's different. I think those cattle auctions
those are different. Those they have a whole it's insane.

Speaker 6 (01:43:12):
But Monte School is like for a specific for this
kind of sure, see, so that's what it seems weird
to me. I would be like it's more for like
just broad range, Like I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:43:23):
I think it's I think it is.

Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
They have all kinds of different categories at this maybe,
but a cattle school. It's like, oh, there's the this
is the auction Academy or something, and then there's different
classes within and you decide, you know, maybe we should
talk to him. You know, Stephanie or Pat Simmons went there.
Stephanie went there, and Tom Sherry all went there, all

(01:43:45):
the same place.

Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
So I like when he says, gotta go, gotta go,
and then they have their things and Stephanie had a
different one that she was sold out at. They all
have their own says and then their motions that they do,
which is so fun.

Speaker 6 (01:44:00):
Yeah, And I mean like I feel like we've gone
to so many of them, but like I remember the
first time watching an auctioneer an event and I'm like,
this is so fun. It's so fun and cool. I
like when they say my favorite auctioneer joke is when
you know they're like bending them up and they're like
you know, and then there's a pause and you can
tell like like this is a pivotal moment right, like

(01:44:22):
the pause everything, and then he says, it's all right,
it's just money. You'll make more on Monday, Like that's
my favorite job, that's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
They all have their you know, the have I told
you that.

Speaker 3 (01:44:40):
This is for eight people, they'll do the whole you
know it's all yes, you know they know that they're
going to do that. But we always think we're seeing something.

Speaker 4 (01:44:49):
Like he's he's bringing it back around. Did you hear
about what I bought at the auction? When it was
the It was an auction we were all at and
Rose was the auctioneer. She's another one in town. And
they had a burial plot and I thought it was brilliant.
I was like, somebody's gonna buy this. And she started

(01:45:11):
a thousand dollars and I'm like, put my thing up,
and we were gonna buy the Hawaii trip.

Speaker 5 (01:45:16):
We were gonna pull our money.

Speaker 4 (01:45:17):
And then she's trying everything. She's like, okay, think about it,
security for your family, this and that, how about eleven hundred?

Speaker 5 (01:45:24):
Who will go eleven hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:45:25):
I'm like, please, I just need one person to go
eleven hundred on this thing. And she tried everything in
the book and it was. I was, but I have
a burial plot. But now we know where you're going
to be laid to rest. Yes, that's rights.

Speaker 6 (01:45:38):
By the way, where is it fairview?

Speaker 4 (01:45:40):
I think it's fairview itself on the ridge and it
even said that it has it's along the path so
it'll be easy for your family to fuck you, and
has cremation and has everything.

Speaker 6 (01:45:51):
See I remember when that happened, But I think I
forgot that. You only got it because no one else
been on it.

Speaker 4 (01:45:57):
Zero I've never and she started high too. I mean,
if it had started at five hundred, maybe somebody who
outbid me, But I was thinking this is it's forty
five hundred dollars worth of stuff or maybe more. We
were gonna we were gonna use it this year because
our theme was adventure. We were gonna do Paara sailing
or bungee jumping and then package it with my plot.

(01:46:18):
So it's like, in case this doesn't go well, your set,
that's actually really going to have it be a package.
But we didn't get any bungee jumping.

Speaker 6 (01:46:25):
Yeah, that's a really funny idea. So you could sell
your plot if you want.

Speaker 4 (01:46:29):
I could sell it. I could donate it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
She'll sell it to you for nine hundred dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:46:34):
Yeah, and she'll probably pay me back faster than Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:46:38):
Really, i'll pay you in once the years go by. Well,
so what else did you do this weekend?

Speaker 6 (01:46:45):
So we stayed at the Davenport or Davenport, which was fun.
I have been, you know, there a million times, but
I don't think i'd ever spent I think i'd probably
ever spent the night there, maybe twice. So it's fun
to actually spend the night. Yeah, and so yeah, we
were just down down you know, did you go to that?
We went to the wine event and yeah, tons of
delicious wine and she we were both we both had

(01:47:10):
plenty to drink, but she was actually doing the thing
where you're supposed to do it, like have a sip
and then pour out the rest. But I'm like, this
wine is so good. I hate doing that. And they have,
you know, every time you go wine tasting, they have
the bucket like they expect you to toss it. But
that's so hard to do.

Speaker 4 (01:47:27):
Yeah, it can be sometimes it's like, well no, but
you do get pretty drunk. It's enough.

Speaker 3 (01:47:35):
I've always I don't know what it is with wine
tasting but I'm the same way. It's like you add
up all the wine that you've tasted. If you put it,
it's like, okay, maybe it's more than a glass. Yeah,
but when you have multiple ones, you get buzzed quick.

Speaker 4 (01:47:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:47:47):
I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (01:47:48):
There's something about that.

Speaker 6 (01:47:49):
Yeah, but it was a weird. Yeah. And then it
was the first time ever that they had shut down
post Saturday. I think the event was so we didn't
go to that, but they had I think it was
like a wine pairing with a meal and.

Speaker 4 (01:48:05):
It was a big food what was it called the
thing that the Davenport did.

Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
It was I think it was called the Food and Wine.

Speaker 4 (01:48:11):
So you didn't go to that, you were just staying down.

Speaker 6 (01:48:14):
Yeah, and they had different events like throughout the weekend,
so you could do something like Friday night or Saturday
or I think even Sunday there was a brunch. So yeah,
but yeah, it's always a treat, like a staycation, just
to you know, stay downtown or go do something that's great.
But yeah, she's I don't know, we have she's like

(01:48:34):
a great like she's so fun, she's funny.

Speaker 4 (01:48:37):
She oh, oh, toy, that's right.

Speaker 6 (01:48:39):
And then you guys were having a girl's weekend and
then she flew out yesterday. Oh nice, like the Sunday
of just kind of you know, getting the house.

Speaker 2 (01:48:47):
You went to visit her last Yeah, last September.

Speaker 6 (01:48:52):
So anyway, last from the past. We've been in Spokane
a long time.

Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
Yeah, we keep we keep keeping on, keep keep keep Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:49:00):
And I will say I mean when we moved here
in two thousand and five, I was like, oh, we're
going to be here a couple of years. And then
we're like, oh, like the schools are great, there's no traffic,
the jobs.

Speaker 4 (01:49:12):
Are good, and your parents are here.

Speaker 6 (01:49:14):
And my parents ended up moving over. My sister's here,
so you know, and like nothing is forever, but it's
for right now. It's like there's no reason to leave.

Speaker 3 (01:49:24):
When I came here in ninety two, I had never
been anywhere longer than two years. Wow, Like every two
years I was somewhere else. And then this happened with.

Speaker 6 (01:49:35):
That, like like in TV you start traditionally, it was
like you start in a small market and then you
kind of move your way up and only stay places
for a couple of years. Is that how it was
with you? Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:49:45):
I did time in North Dakota.

Speaker 2 (01:49:47):
Oh yeah, Colorado, Texas, Yeah, New York.

Speaker 6 (01:49:53):
And did you think that, like when you came to Spokane,
did you think you're going to stay?

Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
No, not the not any any of the times.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
That's something in my throat. I can't.

Speaker 3 (01:50:05):
I was here for two years, then left, then came back,
then left again. Then when I came back the last time,
that was in ninety two. And I'm still here.

Speaker 5 (01:50:14):
And I moved here in ninety two.

Speaker 4 (01:50:16):
The first time, I was here for two years and
it was before radio or anything, and I was waiting
table well, I was teaching preschool at the why, and
my first husband was waiting tables. He helped open the
first Rox City grill ohow, and he worked at an
espresso place, and we could not make enough money, so
we ended up moving around. We moved to Florida and Nashville,
and then I went back to LA and I came

(01:50:37):
up here to do summer theater with my parents, and
then I didn't want to leave. And then these guys
had an opening for a producer, and so that's how
I started.

Speaker 5 (01:50:46):
And that was the end of ninety eight.

Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:50:50):
And I've never stayed any place this long either, Like
in my same house since two thousand and one. It's crazy. Yeah,
it's crazy.

Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (01:50:58):
Yeah, that's how Spokane it does.

Speaker 6 (01:51:01):
It gets yet but yeah, it's all good in a
good way. Yes, all right, Well, happy Monday to you guys.

Speaker 4 (01:51:08):
I'm so glad you got your fifty five dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:51:10):
Oh my gosh, sixty sixty dollars. All things to you guys, and.

Speaker 4 (01:51:14):
You saved me one hundred dollars, so thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:51:17):
What could have been I was holding.

Speaker 6 (01:51:20):
I want to come to your next party, though, so
tell me when it is in advance.

Speaker 4 (01:51:25):
Yeah, I guess we did an invite her in time.
That's on us, That's what I said.

Speaker 6 (01:51:28):
I said, if you'd invite me last week, I would
say yes.

Speaker 4 (01:51:31):
Yeah, okay, next time we'll know.

Speaker 2 (01:51:33):
We are going to have other events. Maybe they won't
be like Canniveral.

Speaker 3 (01:51:37):
We'll have something obviously before two years, but yeah, we'll
do something.

Speaker 6 (01:51:42):
Christmas party.

Speaker 4 (01:51:44):
Maybe we will do a holiday the first annel Christmas.

Speaker 6 (01:51:49):
At the Davenport.

Speaker 4 (01:51:50):
Yes, and.

Speaker 2 (01:51:53):
With free wine.

Speaker 6 (01:51:54):
Yeah, I mean, just bring your mary Hills, your Merry
Hill stuff and your Walla Walla stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
Yeah. I got mary Hill too.

Speaker 4 (01:52:01):
I gotta you know you gotta have a wine party.
You need to have a holiday party.

Speaker 2 (01:52:05):
I need to.

Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
Either that or probably the better choice, the more responsible choice.
I need to eliminate some of these wine clubs.

Speaker 6 (01:52:13):
That and they want my mom to cancel the subscriptions
for you.

Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
Maybe I should just turn it over to her. I'll
give her sixty bucks.

Speaker 4 (01:52:20):
Yeah, here's what I think though. To your holidays, give
your wine out, you know, give good ones, but ones
that you don't drink as much. And I'm happy with
a bottle of wine from you for Christmas. Deal. That's it. Same, Okay,
we're making deal shopping for.

Speaker 2 (01:52:38):
Us now and three months Christmas will be over.

Speaker 4 (01:52:42):
I don't like when he does that. Don't wash your
life away.

Speaker 2 (01:53:13):

Speaker 4 (01:53:14):

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):

Speaker 5 (01:53:18):
I might even do a two dollars question.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):

Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
It'll all be over by then. Yeah, no, I'm just kidding.
We'll wait, we'll stretch it out. So yeah, So probably

five dollars and a two dollars question on the board today,
and between the two of you, probably what's your strongest
topic when it comes to trivia?

Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
For men? Mm hmmm.

Speaker 4 (01:59:17):
And they're the two that were added because both of
the men wanted that named after them.

Speaker 2 (02:00:25):
Years for a long time.

Speaker 4 (02:00:26):
Yeah, tried to do a payment plan.

Speaker 2 (02:00:29):
I paid Sam live on the air.

Speaker 4 (02:00:31):
And you paid me the money you owed me for
Kali live at In fact, I was looking at this
dollar bill. It was all folded up, and I thought,
where did that come from? It was from you. Oh yeah,
at the event you gave me a dollar bill was
all folded up.

Speaker 2 (02:00:46):
Got to pay your debts?

Speaker 4 (02:00:48):

Speaker 2 (02:01:04):
As I don't know? Is that a five dollars one?

Speaker 4 (02:01:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:01:07):
Vienna gaggle?

Speaker 4 (02:01:12):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (02:01:13):
Vienna is the capital of which country?

Speaker 2 (02:01:15):
Austria?

Speaker 4 (02:01:16):
What sport is the focus of the movie tin Cup golf?
What slang for the stomach was the highest scoring ailment

Speaker 2 (02:02:10):
All right, did it get two dollars? Didn't get any money?

Speaker 4 (02:02:16):
No? Sorry? Final score Dave wins seven to five and
a half.

Speaker 3 (02:02:27):
All right, what's the I got? You know what I'm
gonna do. I'm gonna research. So I'm gonna learn all
of the animals and what they are, because those are
always the money questions.

Speaker 2 (02:02:37):
Yes, what is the snail? What's a group of snails
called a walk? Oh? I would never get that.

Speaker 4 (02:02:43):
Huh uh huh. So let's start at the top here,
take on me very good, Dave got that one. Start
off with the lead. Neither of you got the walk,
so nobody got that. You both got Austria. You both
got golf. And do you remember so think about the
Operation game. It's right in the middle. It was super
hard to get because you had pinch, had a. It

(02:03:04):
was the highest scoring one. It was the bread basket.
Oh that's the nickname for stomach. Yeah, or it's a
slang term.

Speaker 2 (02:03:13):
Remember the patient's name.

Speaker 5 (02:03:16):
Just look this up, Tom No, I think.

Speaker 2 (02:03:20):
It was Charlie.

Speaker 3 (02:03:21):
Wasn't it the game of Operation? I remember the game
of Operation. It was a fun, fun game.

Speaker 4 (02:03:28):
It was fun until you got zapped, and then you
both knew Clarence, the angel gets its wings and both
got Crown Royal. Very good, Calamari, very good, Dave, I
got them, gave them half. They got August but not July,
so they got half. That's the five and a half.
And then you got, uh, both of those, and then
they got Denmark. Denmark is the swe so five?

Speaker 2 (02:03:52):
What was the two dollars question?

Speaker 4 (02:03:53):
The bread basket? I have to make them a little harder.

Speaker 2 (02:03:58):
Yeah, you have to the channel. That's the spirit of it.

Speaker 4 (02:04:01):
Yes, I can't remember what it was on Friday, but
you said that Megan got it. I can't remember what
my five dollars. Hang on?

Speaker 3 (02:04:13):
Oh, Ryan wants to play tomorrow. Okay, we need to
find uh, what's the name of the patient from operation?

Speaker 2 (02:04:21):
It might not be Charlie.

Speaker 3 (02:04:23):
I remember the commercials don't chute aside you blew it?

Speaker 2 (02:04:27):
Charlie.

Speaker 4 (02:04:28):
Yeah, it's and I have almost put that in trivia
because it's one of the questions that comes up. Hang on,
the name of the patient oops in operation? Here we go,
Cavity Sam. Oh Okay, yeah, now we'll remember because the

(02:04:50):
Sam Adams, we'll call it Cavity Sam from now on.

Speaker 2 (02:04:53):
Janine from Bellingham knew it was bread basket. She got
it good one.

Speaker 4 (02:04:58):
So and also I just on a recap so last Friday,
the five dollars question was petrology is a study of what,
and she knew rocks.

Speaker 5 (02:05:08):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:05:09):
Yeah, I thought that was a pretty good five dollars question.

Speaker 10 (02:05:12):
Yeah, it was a great five dollars question.

Speaker 4 (02:05:17):
Yeah, she got it last time. Okay, So anyway, so

A group of buffalo is an obstinancy. A group of
ferrets is a business. That one I've heard a business
of ferrets, And a group of girafts is.

Speaker 4 (02:06:52):
A tower that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (02:06:54):
And a group of lemurs is a conspiracy.

Speaker 4 (02:06:58):
And cheetahs are a coalition, a coalition of Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:07:01):
See, these are all things like you could. I don't
know that you'll ever remember. The only one I locked
in is a murder of crows. That one just you
just know that one because it's so odd. And then
I think you had the Pandemonium of parrots or something.

Speaker 4 (02:07:19):
Yes, that was the five dollars question. And then the
Kaleidoscope of butterflies and the blessing of unicorns. Those are
the ones that stick with me. And who named those people?
I wonder what a group of spiders is called.

Speaker 2 (02:07:34):
Oh, that'd be a good one.

Speaker 4 (02:07:37):
Group of Let me see, okay, I'm gonna look up
a group of animal names. Okay, ooh, this'll be fun.

Speaker 3 (02:07:52):
Oh it's Chris in Illinois. He's the one that's in Naperville, Illinois.

Speaker 4 (02:07:58):
Okay, yeah, do you remember what a hyenas are?

Speaker 2 (02:08:06):
Cackle? Yeah, that's another.

Speaker 4 (02:08:11):
Whales are a pod, Wolves are a pack or a root.
Let's see lemurs or conspiracy. Lions are a pride. Otters
are a raft. We've done that one before. Owls remember owls.
No parliament a parliament of owls. Let's see. Elephants are

(02:08:32):
a parade. That makes sense. I like these hippopotamus to
start with an h. It's a bloat or thunder. I
think they'll like thunder better than bloat. Like, hey, we're
already unattractive beings, and we kill more humans on the

(02:08:53):
planet than most other animals.

Speaker 2 (02:08:54):
That's what we hear.

Speaker 4 (02:08:55):
Give us a break. And yeah, oh I like these
all these names. I think I would like to be
able to name the names. Ooh, a chicken is a.

Speaker 2 (02:09:07):
Brude or a peep a peep of chickens.

Speaker 4 (02:09:11):
And we've heard army of caterpillars. We've heard that one before.

Speaker 2 (02:09:15):
There's only a few of those that I'm ever going
to remember.

Speaker 4 (02:09:18):
I know, but maybe this comes up.

Speaker 2 (02:09:23):
Right, all right, we'll take a break. We still to go.

Speaker 3 (02:09:26):
We'll have our hot topics in our final hour. We'll
get to that and a whole bunch of other stuff too.
We have a little change in the weather too. We're
supposed to be like in the mid seventies today and
then after today it's like three days in a row
where it's going to be cloudy with a chance of rain.
I say, a welcoming rain.

Speaker 4 (02:09:42):
I agree. Ready, Ready, I think we've Yeah, it's been good.

Speaker 3 (02:09:47):
Yes, all right, we'll get to all that and more
when we return The David Molly Show. We'll continue live
from the Numerica Studios.

Speaker 1 (02:10:02):
Hot Topics, brought to you by Clark's Tire and Automotive Center.

Speaker 2 (02:10:08):
Yeah, hot topics. Ready for Hot topics?

Speaker 4 (02:10:10):
Yes, before we start, can we talk a little bit
about football?

Speaker 6 (02:10:13):
What?

Speaker 2 (02:10:14):
Well? I don't know, please, I mean, I just.

Speaker 4 (02:10:18):
I really wanted to talk a little bit about football
if we may, Yeah, because tonight there's some more games.
Here's what I don't think is fair. Okay, So I'm
looking through my picks, right, and I got a lot
wrong this week and that's on me. So I don't
know why I picked the Cardinals to beat the Seahawks.
Maybe because they were in at the Cardinals and I

(02:10:38):
know that they're not a real team. You told me
they're not even in the NFL, and I should have
listened to that.

Speaker 2 (02:10:43):
Then I've softened my stance on the Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (02:10:45):
Out of loyalty to the Vikings, my ex You know,
I pick them, Well, what do they do?

Speaker 2 (02:10:50):
They lose to the Steelers and I missed that one too.

Speaker 4 (02:10:54):
Okay. Then I got the Falcons right. Then I got
the Bills and the Lions right, and the Texans I
got right. I didn't expect them to win twenty six
tes zero got the Patriots right. The New York beating
the Chargers, I didn't see that one coming.

Speaker 5 (02:11:09):
I got that wrong.

Speaker 2 (02:11:10):
A lot of people didn't see that one coming.

Speaker 4 (02:11:12):
I got the Buccaneers and Eagles wrong.

Speaker 2 (02:11:14):
Boy said, where were you were your Buccaneers.

Speaker 4 (02:11:17):
Under my buccing hat? Okay, I keep them there all
the time. I don't know why you can't lock that in.
Rams I got right. The forty nine Ers disappoint at
home against the Jaguars.

Speaker 2 (02:11:30):
We didn't picked that one right. Diddy, Yeah, he likes the.

Speaker 4 (02:11:33):
Jaguar Oh, that's right.

Speaker 5 (02:11:34):
Then the Ravens Chiefs thing.

Speaker 4 (02:11:36):
I I know the Chiefs were at home, but the Ravens,
I didn't know they had all the injuries. I didn't
do my research. Then the Raiders. How come the Bears
go to the Raiders area and beat them?

Speaker 2 (02:11:49):
That one hurt me too? One point?

Speaker 4 (02:11:50):
Yes, one point and it's them. So here's what I
don't think is fair. How come I get an X
on the Packers Cowboys?

Speaker 2 (02:11:59):
Well, that's not fair. Pick a tie, that's.

Speaker 4 (02:12:03):
Crap, Like, who's going to pick? Oh? You know what,
I think this Dolphins jet thing tonight it's going to
be a tie. No, nobody's predicting that.

Speaker 3 (02:12:11):
The good news is no one gets it right, that's true.
But do you lose any ground on that one?

Speaker 4 (02:12:17):
But do you think that a lot of people like
the standings won't reflect this week until tonight is over? Right?
The standings have to wait because right now I'm oh,
maybe the standings do reflect this crappy week I'm in
I'm in twenty seventh place.

Speaker 2 (02:12:38):
Oh how many teams are in there?

Speaker 4 (02:12:40):
But it goes from eighteenth to twenty seventh place. So
but like, I'm right close to the bottom. Well, last
week I was right up at the top with you.
I was doing well, you are in seventh place. There's
a lot of people tied for seventh though. Tonight will
be the let's see so oh no, I'm looking at
the wrong day stand by, stand by?

Speaker 5 (02:13:01):
Where are you? Where are you on here?

Speaker 4 (02:13:06):
What are you in? Spencer's thing? Yeah, well maybe they
kicked Oh there you are your eighth So but you
didn't get as many wrongs. Well you got a few wrong.
It was a week okay, so that makes me feel better.
Everybody got the Green Bay thing wrong, every single person.

Speaker 3 (02:13:27):
That's why I think that that that game was going
to be high in the eliminator league, because I think
a lot of people probably thought, oh, green Bay is going.

Speaker 4 (02:13:35):
To crush them, right, and I just realized what I
was talking about the Green Bay You know what. The
other one most people got wrong, except for a couple,
was the San Francisco game. Almost everybody but two people
had San Francisco. So that's that's I don't feel bad.
And then the same with the Chargers. Every single person
in our league picked the Chargers, So that makes me

(02:13:56):
feel a little bit better. So now tonight they have
the game and we won't watch them, and I don't
think it's going to change much, you know, for me.

Speaker 3 (02:14:06):
But well, I think that the I mean the Jets
and the Dolphins. There are two terrible teams. They're both
zero and three. I think for in the pool picking,
I think it's probably a fifty to fifty split because
you know, it's like who cares. And then the other
one the Bengals and Broncos. I think everybody's on the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (02:14:26):
I picked both of the home teams, which is Dolphins
and Broncos.

Speaker 2 (02:14:30):
Okay, yeah, well you picked the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (02:14:33):
I did pick the Dolphins. Yeah, I picked the Dolphins.
They're at home and that's the only thing. They're both
terrible teams. The only thing I could think of is
there an advantage? And was it the Buccaneer game that
it was one hundred degrees?

Speaker 2 (02:14:44):
Close to one hundred?

Speaker 4 (02:14:45):
Can you imagine that football playing football? I mean, I
know it's probably hard to play football when it's you know,
two degrees, that kind of sucks, but I would imagine
that one hundred degree thing would be very hard.

Speaker 3 (02:14:54):
That's another one that I that I thought, Well, you know,
I respect Philadelphia blah, blah blah. They won the Super Bowl,
blah blah blah. But I just thought that, you know,
this is a good spot for the Buccaneers. They're at home,
doesn't mean as much the Eagles. But the Eagles got
up to such a big lead that it was, you know,
kind of out of reach.

Speaker 2 (02:15:14):
Yeah, my fantasy team.

Speaker 3 (02:15:16):
I even took a screenshot of it because these things
happened to me. I had an eighty seven percent chance
of winning and.

Speaker 2 (02:15:24):
And now I have a two percent chance of winning.

Speaker 4 (02:15:28):
Did you say, girl, or or did you say this?
Did you say did you say that?

Speaker 2 (02:15:36):
No? I didn't say that.

Speaker 4 (02:15:38):
You don't like my new sounder? Use yours, hastude, here's
a happier I like this one.

Speaker 2 (02:15:44):
Yeah, and things are good. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:15:49):
So if I lose my fantasy game and I'm still
not out of it, I need I need T Higgins.
He's a receiver for the Bengals. I need him to
just go crazy tonight. Okay, I can still win. But
if I lose and the source says I'm supposed to lose, yeah,
I'll be one in three.

Speaker 4 (02:16:10):
That's that's a bad thing. But so are the Ravens.
So that makes you feel a little better.

Speaker 2 (02:16:14):
Right, Yeah, and I'm injured. My pride is injured.

Speaker 4 (02:16:19):
Your pride is injured. You lost a lot of bets,
so you lost You lost the kalide coming to the
thing event right that bat and then you lost all
of the raffles that you were entered in this week. Yes,
but and then Friday you lost the showdown and you
didn't get that five dollars right. But today, so are
you just saying no, listen, this is a new leaf here.

Speaker 5 (02:16:42):
What's that sound that's turning over a new leaf?

Speaker 2 (02:16:45):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:16:46):
And it's now you're on a winning strokes streak. So
tonight I believe your guy. He's going to do great
things and you're going to make the comeback of the year.
That's going to be amazing. And then if we go
to the casine a little bit early, you probably hit
a minor jackpot and you'll have to tax and say, hey, hey, Molly,
everything is great, but I have hand pay and I'm

(02:17:07):
waiting for the person to come over, so I'll be
a few minutes late, da dot, but I'll be there
all good.

Speaker 2 (02:17:12):
I don't talk to love to all.

Speaker 4 (02:17:16):
And then I'll say, ken, he's going to be here,
He's just he has a hand pay out there on
the floor, so he's going to be a little bit late.

Speaker 5 (02:17:25):
Would't that be great?

Speaker 2 (02:17:25):
That would be That would be fantastic.

Speaker 3 (02:17:28):
Yeah, And I would like to get out there to
get my prize because you've got to do that before
six o'clock, which I would have to do obviously before
our event.

Speaker 2 (02:17:36):
But I might take your advice.

Speaker 3 (02:17:38):
Get to the get the thing early, get the little
print out, take it over and I'll run that out
to the car if I have time.

Speaker 4 (02:17:44):
Yeah, I'm going to put mine back behind our stuff
in our staging area because we have that whole area
back there. There's all those shelvings, you know, the area
where we shove food and our ice.

Speaker 2 (02:17:53):
Yeah, keep there, good safe spot.

Speaker 4 (02:17:57):
Yeah. I will. Also, I was thinking that there was
a thing from four to five for track, but it's
really from three to four, so it's perfect. I can
go watch track for a little while and then head
out at my leisure.

Speaker 3 (02:18:12):
Should be fun, and we would like to invite everybody.
I mean you, any Northern Quest person, if you've been
in another question, you're entitled to come out and you can.
There is a chance that you can win. The truck
is open to everybody. Just swipe your card. Some people
are going to have better chances than others, but everybody
has a chance that's out there.

Speaker 4 (02:18:32):
Yeah. I ran into one of the gals who's always
in the top five. Yeah, and I think she was
number one the last session to do it, like in
between giveaways, and so she's usually there, and so she
was out Thursday. I saw her, so she said, I'll
see you Monday. So she's one of those that has
some more entries than other people. But there we were

(02:18:53):
pulling people who had like they had just come and
swiped their card that night and they got drawn. So
there's always a chance.

Speaker 3 (02:19:02):
And then there's a pre party thing where you have
a chance to get your name in there and.

Speaker 4 (02:19:07):
They have cheap hot dogs and beer and usually.

Speaker 2 (02:19:10):
Starts at two o'clock.

Speaker 4 (02:19:11):
Oh at nachos. They usually do a margarita of a
sushi roll. So yeah, all kinds of stuff for you.
Should be fun.

Speaker 3 (02:19:19):
Even if we weren't hosting this event, we'd still want
to be there. It's a great event. And then somebody
will leave with a either a brand new truck or
forty five thousand dollars in cash.

Speaker 4 (02:19:31):
Great price, but all the stuff we're giving out. Leading
up to it, we give away hundreds of dollars, you know,
thousands of dollars, thousands of dollars, but like hundreds to each. Yeah,
one person didn't they win, like twelve hundred and they
were entered to win. It'll be fun, Northern Quest tonight,
join us be there at B Square.

Speaker 3 (02:19:52):
Birthdays today today celebrating her twenty eighth birthday. Is my daughter, Samantha.
Here's your birthday.

Speaker 5 (02:19:57):
Happy birthdays, Samantha.

Speaker 3 (02:19:58):
Probably still sleeping, yeah, but today's where we sell it.
We had the dinner last night and that was great,
and then she had a thing with her friends on
Saturday night.

Speaker 4 (02:20:09):
So twenty eight years ago today, what day of the
week is it?

Speaker 2 (02:20:13):
I believe it was a Monday.

Speaker 4 (02:20:14):
You're at work or where you are, no lark.

Speaker 2 (02:20:17):
It was like a oh, like a set time, you know, oh,
a plan.

Speaker 4 (02:20:23):
Yeah, okay, so you knew exactly when she was coming.

Speaker 2 (02:20:27):
Came came a little later than we thought.

Speaker 4 (02:20:29):
But hell, okay, so you were It wasn't like you
were at work and you get the phone call like
you have to bolt out Saturday night, Queen. My partner,
her son Jonathan was there helping us, and his wife
went into labor while he was there. Oh and she
He's like, okay, she's I gotta go. I helped you
as well as I could. And she was even considering

(02:20:49):
going to the event. It's like no. And then Friday morning,
he was Friday morning, or maybe it was Saturday morning,
Mary said, oh my god, I have another grand baby.
And so babies are being born all over the place,
but Mary's grandson was born at home, just the two
of them. They had a midwife that was planned, but

(02:21:10):
it happened so fast that he delivered the baby like
her son delivered the baby.

Speaker 5 (02:21:14):
Oh my gosh, old school style.

Speaker 4 (02:21:18):
Wow, I know, crazy, it would be scary, yes, yes, yeah,
but I guess they did like the water thing, you
know where they are in a tub, and they had
it all planned out and they wanted to do it,
and they had a dueler or midwife, but it just
was happening so fast that he just did it. So anyway,
two brand new babies over the weekend. It's super cool.

(02:21:39):
And then Samantha t it's a good time.

Speaker 2 (02:21:41):
Yeah, good time for her kids.

Speaker 4 (02:21:42):
Yep, that's perfect. Leading into fall. So her first Halloween,
did you put her like in a little teeny. I
always think about the times of year that kids are born, like,
she's only a month old.

Speaker 2 (02:21:52):
Boy, I don't remember that.

Speaker 5 (02:21:54):
But and with Christie all over it was Christy.

Speaker 2 (02:21:59):
Christy got to find out at school.

Speaker 3 (02:22:01):
It must have been a Monday, yeah, because they that
was the deal when you you called the school and
then the school would call the classroom and then they
would put the kid on the phone and then so yes,
she got to hear that way.

Speaker 2 (02:22:14):
So that was so she.

Speaker 5 (02:22:16):
Was like nine nine nine.

Speaker 4 (02:22:18):
Yeah, Oh that's perfect age for like second mother ing.

Speaker 2 (02:22:22):
You know, she just turned nine.

Speaker 4 (02:22:24):
Ah, it's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (02:22:27):
Yeah, yeah, the kids and then they're doing a thing
tomorrow night.

Speaker 3 (02:22:31):
Because Christy was in Seattle for the baseball games, Dodgers
Dodgers Mariners.

Speaker 4 (02:22:38):
How did that go?

Speaker 3 (02:22:40):
Well, it doesn't matter because I know, but the first spot,
I think I think the Dodgers swept them.

Speaker 4 (02:22:47):
I think it's a good thing they clinched their spot.
That would be very marinery of them to not do it.

Speaker 2 (02:22:53):
Yeah. And then here's the other thing.

Speaker 3 (02:22:57):
I was looking at it because because I was thinking
today was the day that I could cash my tickets.
You know, I have four Mariner tickets Mariners winning their division, which.

Speaker 2 (02:23:06):
They did first time in twenty four years.

Speaker 3 (02:23:08):
Yeah, I'm hanging out of these tickets and thinking, okay,
here that's my cash. Well, I'm looking at the actual ticket,
and for some reason, I was thinking, okay, it has
to be when the season ends. It says October first,
So I don't know why would they There is no
reason for the regular season to be October first, for.

Speaker 4 (02:23:25):
They would that be makeup games that would have happened
up until No.

Speaker 2 (02:23:30):
Maybe, I mean, I don't know. Why is nobody playing
all three?

Speaker 8 (02:23:35):
All?

Speaker 3 (02:23:36):
They have three three on one and then one on another.
All of them say the same thing.

Speaker 4 (02:23:42):
But is the season completely over right now? Or just
for the Mariners it's over? Are there any games being
played anywhere?

Speaker 2 (02:23:48):
No regular season games?

Speaker 4 (02:23:49):
All done?

Speaker 2 (02:23:50):
Like everything is done?

Speaker 4 (02:23:51):
No playing games plays today?

Speaker 3 (02:23:53):
Okay, and then the wild card stuff starts tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (02:23:58):
Well, then that is weird, because you might want to
use your winnings to better walk art, thing to eat,
or pay for the rent.

Speaker 2 (02:24:10):
The ladder is probably more true. That's what I was thinking.

Speaker 3 (02:24:15):
I was thinking, Oh, it'll be great because I can
go out there and I can cash my ticket a
little early before our event and then I have some
free money and you know, I could, you know, create
a little time.

Speaker 4 (02:24:26):
But rep off artists.

Speaker 2 (02:24:31):
But I'm glad. I'm glad.

Speaker 3 (02:24:32):
I'm I'm the winner, and I will have time to
bet some football this weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:24:37):
Yeah, that's good, Okay, all right.

Speaker 3 (02:24:40):
Other people having birthday today, Halsey Halsey, Kevin Durant mm hmmm.

Speaker 4 (02:24:47):
He's a basketball player.

Speaker 2 (02:24:48):
And you got to see him.

Speaker 4 (02:24:50):
Oh, I didn't know I was seeing him, but he
was a longhorn at the time. And he was at
the Davenport's the Davenport uh not great and the other
one tower for the tower, and I was hosting a
working women's Wednesday, and they all walked through.

Speaker 3 (02:25:06):
Right, And you didn't know it at the time, but
you were watching him play his final or getting ready
to play his final college basketball game. He only played
his freshman year. And then he went right to the NBA. Oh,
they ended up, they came here, they lost, I think
they lost in the first round. And so he played
one game here and then out and then next year

(02:25:28):
he goes to the NBA. Look at that and they
become a champion multiple times. Man, He's won four scoring titles.

Speaker 2 (02:25:36):
Jeez. Anyway, and he's been here at Hoopfest before too.

Speaker 4 (02:25:43):
I had no idea. I didn't know what I was
looking at. I think I came into you guys, and
I said, I saw these really tall people in orange outfits.
I don't know, And you said, those are the Longhorns. No,
they're not outfits. First of all, they're not outfits. Their
uniforms and those are the Texas people. And they're here
and there's a big shot on the team.

Speaker 2 (02:26:01):
Yep, and he was the guy. Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (02:26:05):
Speaking of superstars, Calvin Johnson has a birthday today. Used
to be a football player, played for your Lions. Oh
and it's when the Lions were not very good, but
he was good. One of the best receivers of all time.

Speaker 2 (02:26:18):
Megatron. They used to call him Megatron. Oh Megatron, that's
a good name. Megatron.

Speaker 4 (02:26:22):
Yeah, yeah, Megatron forty Megatron. Yeah. I have a quick question. So, now,
with four teams playing tonight, none of those will have
to pay play Thursday. No obviously, so that they'll all
play Sunday, but they all still have kind of a
shorter week. So then whoever goes up against one of those,

(02:26:45):
especially if they were the Thursday Night team from last week,
and they meet one of them on this coming Sunday,
they'd have a huge advantage because they'd have all that
time off. Who was the Thursday Night game?

Speaker 2 (02:26:56):
Was the Seahawks and the Cardinals?

Speaker 4 (02:26:59):
Oh, that's right, so they're all rested up, so amaze and.

Speaker 3 (02:27:02):
The oh and there's another. Oh, I'm glad you brought
that up. So secret information. Maybe it's out now because
the Mariners will be playing. They get their first two
games at home in the playoffs. Yeah, they are moving
the Seahawks game, which was supposed to be a one
oh five start against your Buccaneers.

Speaker 5 (02:27:21):
Where are my Buccaneers?

Speaker 4 (02:27:22):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:27:22):
Your bucking hand?

Speaker 4 (02:27:23):
Okay, I thought they were there still.

Speaker 3 (02:27:26):
So it was supposed to be one And I think
they're moving into three h five because the Mariner game
is going to be geot So you're going to have
two major sporting and you know how close those stadiums are.

Speaker 5 (02:27:37):
You could almost hear one from me.

Speaker 4 (02:27:38):
I would imagine you could hear the twelve man situation
in the quiet ballpark, because the ballpark it's quiet in
baseball until something happens. Yeah, you know, you hear murmuring
but they those yay who's are screaming the whole time.

Speaker 2 (02:27:54):
And they might have to do that.

Speaker 3 (02:27:55):
I think that the Seahawks have back to back home games,
and I think if that is the case, and then
they keep winning, the marriage obviously would have to win
their first series. But it's possible that the first two
or the next two Seahawks games will have very strange
start times, like who starts at three o'clock?

Speaker 2 (02:28:14):
Game?

Speaker 4 (02:28:14):
Yeah, that's weird.

Speaker 2 (02:28:16):
Yeah, So anyway, hmmm, please make note.

Speaker 4 (02:28:19):
Of that sports action over in Seattle.

Speaker 3 (02:28:22):
Yeah, pretty exciting and it's a it's a big game
because the Buccaneers they got to be pissed because they
you know, they were three and oh they have a
home game against the Eagles. They you know, they get
off to a terrible start. They rally, but they lose.
Now they got to come all the way over to Seattle,
about the longest distance you can travel in the NFL.
And then they're playing the Seahawks in Seahawks Stadium.

Speaker 4 (02:28:44):
So eh, and the Seahawks are doing.

Speaker 3 (02:28:47):
Better than the Seahawks will have an extra time rest
because they played the Thursday.

Speaker 4 (02:28:52):
Right. See, all these things are coming into play.

Speaker 2 (02:28:56):
Let's see other birthdays today.

Speaker 3 (02:28:57):
On the on the twenty ninth, there is Mark Farner,
who's Mark Farner from the World of Music.

Speaker 2 (02:29:04):
He's seventy seven today.

Speaker 4 (02:29:06):
Mark Farner is from Foreigner. No he I know this name.

Speaker 2 (02:29:11):
He's the original lead singer.

Speaker 4 (02:29:14):
For Kansas for Sticks, for You're in the Right Realm,
Chicago for No.

Speaker 5 (02:29:20):
Not Chgo Grand Grand Funk Roilroad.

Speaker 2 (02:29:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:29:25):
Yeah, is that right.

Speaker 2 (02:29:27):
We're an American band. We're coming to y'all. Yeah. That
one some kind of wonderful, don't you know that she is? Yeah? Anyway,
he has a birthday today and then born the very
same day. Brian Gumbel.

Speaker 4 (02:29:43):
Wow, he seems thrilled with him.

Speaker 2 (02:29:51):
I remember the name Mike Post.

Speaker 3 (02:29:54):
Yes, he is the guy that wrote the theme songs
for Magnum p I all three Law and Order series,
The A Team, Hill Street Blues, Quantum Leap, The Rockford Files,
Doogie Hows Are MD and the Greatest American Hero Boy.

Speaker 2 (02:30:10):
I wrote all those. That's something by Post eighty one today.

Speaker 4 (02:30:13):
Oh, still with us. That's nice. I remember seeing that name,
you know, at the end of shows or you'd see
that name.

Speaker 3 (02:30:23):
Yeah why and some of those became like hits. You
know on the radio, Yeah, not just TV themes. Gene
Autry no longer with us. Yeah, he went ahead and
passed away in nineteen ninety eight.

Speaker 2 (02:30:39):
But he was the singing cowboy.

Speaker 4 (02:30:42):
Doesn't his graves don't say happy trails?

Speaker 2 (02:30:45):
Probably mm hmm. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:30:48):
He He is one of the few people that has
five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. What one
for each category? Radio, television, movies, records and live performances.

Speaker 4 (02:31:01):
I didn't know. I didn't know there were separate categories. Yeah,
that's a lot of yeah, no kidding, well, that's a
lot of I think that was a long time ago.

Speaker 5 (02:31:12):
When now they have all.

Speaker 4 (02:31:13):
These stars, it's like, oh, we should have thought about
this because it stretches forever. I heard that President Trump's
putting some kind of Walk of Fame in front of
the White House, something like that President's ex presidents, the.

Speaker 2 (02:31:31):
Ones that he wants.

Speaker 4 (02:31:33):
Well, this and I don't know if this is a
true story, somebody will have to this is I heard
this story that the for Biden, it's just a picture
of a pen and a piece of paper like that.
He was because he was, because he was. He says
he wasn't in control the last part. Yeah, and that
that's the picture, that that was the story.

Speaker 5 (02:31:51):
How it was presented. But you know, fake news. It
just it sounded.

Speaker 4 (02:31:54):
But I did hair NPR that he created a walk
of fame and then that that is that everybody else
had their pictures and he just had that.

Speaker 6 (02:32:03):
I think.

Speaker 3 (02:32:06):
You can't be well, I think there should be When
I was in Colorado, yeah, I lived right down the
street from what they it was the Hall of Presidents,
and it was like this little mini museum thing, but
it was all the presidents in there, and then you
got to go in there and read stuff about them,
and they would have speeches of them.

Speaker 2 (02:32:25):
And all that kind of stuff. And so I like that.

Speaker 3 (02:32:27):
But my fear is the situation you're describing, it would
be only certain presidents.

Speaker 2 (02:32:34):
And I don't know if that's a good idea.

Speaker 4 (02:32:36):
There was another thing I heard yesterday about FDR and
they were saying he was the first president who had
what we now see as the presidency, like he had, well,
the fireside chats he was famous, but where he addressed
the nation. And then is the first one who had
sort of a staff, a White House staff, and he
created these things and then things that at the time,

(02:32:59):
were like, what what is he doing? And now it's
just totally normal for us. But he was kind of
that first president. He was the first one who had
the ability to get into people's living rooms every night
or every week or whatever. And then he also did
the third term thing, which was before the twenty second
Amendment was put in, so.

Speaker 2 (02:33:14):
Third and fourth term.

Speaker 4 (02:33:15):
Yeah, oh right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:33:18):
He died I think one year into his fourth term.

Speaker 4 (02:33:21):
Yeah, it was kind of interesting just hearing the history.
But remember at Disneyland, wasn't there the Hall of Presidents
At Disneyland? It was an a ticket. I just remember,
you're desperate at the end of your Disneyland day, it's hot,
you're sweaty, and somebody talks you into the people move
through the Hall of Presidents and you're like, fine, I'll

(02:33:41):
do it. Here's my a ticket.

Speaker 2 (02:33:43):
We went to the Smithsonian.

Speaker 3 (02:33:44):
That was the American History one, but they have a
whole thing about presidents and when you walk into that section,
they have the actual hat that Abraham Lincoln was wearing.

Speaker 2 (02:33:55):
When your friend I read.

Speaker 9 (02:33:58):
That hat, I see it and I get chills and
I kicked myself with my one good limb that I
didn't a better aim the damn hat.

Speaker 2 (02:34:11):
Sorry I brought it. Yeah, they have the real hat.
It's right there, it's ry on display, the actual hat.

Speaker 4 (02:34:17):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:34:17):
Yeah. So you walk in you see it. And then
the next room over they have all.

Speaker 3 (02:34:21):
Of the first lady dresses from the inaugurations.

Speaker 4 (02:34:28):
Oh how cool.

Speaker 2 (02:34:30):
It was kind of cool too.

Speaker 3 (02:34:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:34:31):
I mean all that. I don't know. I'm a nerd
for that. I was totally consumed, loved it all.

Speaker 4 (02:34:37):
I gotta do that. I gotta get back east and
go to I've never spent any time in Washington, d C.
I really want to.

Speaker 2 (02:34:43):
I want to spend more time there, take the training.

Speaker 3 (02:34:45):
And you were talking about FDR and Lincoln, you know
they were you know Mount Rushmore. Can you name the
Mount Rushmore people?

Speaker 4 (02:34:51):
Washington yep? And Lincoln yep. And Jefferson No he wasn't.
No FDR. Right, And uh oh, who's the fourth one?
How can I not name the for Adams?

Speaker 2 (02:35:05):
No Roosevelt? So two Roosevelts, that's right. And then and
you know what.

Speaker 3 (02:35:13):
Before the mountain, before the before they put the you know,
the carvings of the faces, they say that that mountain
was unprecedented.

Speaker 4 (02:35:30):
Yeah, unprecedented, not precedented, but unpresidented. That's a good one.
Where'd you hear that? The jokes are?

Speaker 3 (02:35:42):
I think it was like it was one of those
memes that came through, like the yeah, old school jokes
or something.

Speaker 4 (02:35:51):
They said, it is true the Audi Biden's auto pen picture.
That's what's instead of his faces have a point?

Speaker 3 (02:36:00):
Well, you know, I don't think did everybody else get
a photo?

Speaker 2 (02:36:03):
Like what? Who? Like every person got a photo? Except
that I.

Speaker 4 (02:36:07):
Believe I believe that's true. I believe that's true. It
would have been it would have been interesting if he
just put up like some kind of you know, an
ode to them, like what he if that were all
the case? And so you know, you see the wheelchair
or you see the big top hat, or you see
you know something that or you know something that reminds

(02:36:29):
you of each president, and then that says but but
when that's the only thing, that doesn't seem like that
should be allowed, seems a little.

Speaker 3 (02:36:37):
Oh well, As we referenced earlier, today is National Coffee Day,
and you've you've pledged that you're going to have an
afternoon coffee.

Speaker 4 (02:36:48):
Believe you. I believe I will. I think that I
am going to Uh, yes, I'm going to go through
the drive through only one Roosevelt for this Jefferson. Oh see,
I was right, I said, Jefferson. It's Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, Lincoln.

(02:37:11):
So it's not FDR. It's Teddy Roosevelt, not Franklin.

Speaker 2 (02:37:15):
So they have ten, but they don't have FDR on
there apparently. Jeez, how do I not?

Speaker 4 (02:37:21):
Are they related?

Speaker 2 (02:37:23):
Like long?

Speaker 1 (02:37:25):
You know?

Speaker 5 (02:37:26):
And how many years in between?

Speaker 3 (02:37:30):
Teddy Roosevelt was president in like nineteen hundred huh, nineteen
oh one to nineteen oh nine, I believe, okay, and
then FDR was like in the depression thirties or.

Speaker 4 (02:37:42):
Something, early thirties.

Speaker 2 (02:37:44):
Oh, here we go, it comes photos.

Speaker 4 (02:37:48):
This is Oh, I can't do it. It won't open. The
page you sent won't open, Kelly, it won't open. Anyway,
we are things.

Speaker 2 (02:38:00):
We report, Oh yeah, we report.

Speaker 5 (02:38:02):
You decide it's Jefferson.

Speaker 4 (02:38:04):
Oh you're gonna get barred it with the Jefferson thing.

Speaker 3 (02:38:07):
And it's even like Wayne from England is the one
that's telling me it's Jefferson.

Speaker 2 (02:38:12):
Even he knows and he's from England.

Speaker 4 (02:38:14):
Here here's the other thing about the Biden picture. It's
flanked by two Trump pictures because he was a president
before it.

Speaker 2 (02:38:22):
After then there's just a pen in the middle.

Speaker 4 (02:38:32):
You can't write this stuff. Oh my god, oh my god,
oh my gosh. Who would Oh and then yeah, you're right,
Jessla And it would just be a bathtub for taft, Yeah,
good one. Yeah, what other little things will be put
in there for? Oh, here's a picture Virginia to sent

(02:38:55):
Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 3 (02:38:57):
Okay, and this is before it was unprecedented.

Speaker 4 (02:39:03):
Yes, Jefferson has quite a stash. I think it's Jefferson
or is that Teddy bok? Oh, that's Roosevelt. So it
goes Washington, then Jefferson. Lincoln's on the end, and in
between is Roosevelt.

Speaker 2 (02:39:16):
That's not a very good Lincoln. I know.

Speaker 4 (02:39:19):
Well, they are carving out of stone, David.

Speaker 3 (02:39:22):
It's not like And I've never been in Mount Rushmore.
And then I've heard from multiple sources.

Speaker 2 (02:39:29):
It's kind of a letdown. So have you been there?

Speaker 4 (02:39:33):
Yeah, when I was a kid. I mean, it was
a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (02:39:44):
Let's take you back one hundred and nine years ago.
The year is nineteen sixteen.

Speaker 2 (02:39:50):
John D.

Speaker 3 (02:39:50):
Rockefeller was declared America's first billionaire JZ.

Speaker 2 (02:39:56):
And this is in nineteen sixteen.

Speaker 5 (02:39:58):
It's a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (02:39:59):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:40:00):
However, modern historians think that it would it was an exaggeration,
and that he only had nine hundred million dollars.

Speaker 4 (02:40:10):
Oh well, don't exaggerate. It's very hard to hundred.

Speaker 2 (02:40:14):
Million dollars short of being a billionaire.

Speaker 4 (02:40:16):
Yeah something. Man, that's a lot. Think about the time
on that, like, that's it's hard to be a billionaire
now and back then to be you know, the only
one you'd be singled out. Wayne says, I'm not English,
I'm American living here.

Speaker 2 (02:40:36):
Okay, all right, sorry.

Speaker 4 (02:40:38):
Oh Clinton's would be a cigar in a saxophone in
the dress, and Carters would be a peanut.

Speaker 2 (02:40:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:40:49):
Ford would just be him in crutches, crashing down something.

Speaker 2 (02:40:54):
Obama would be a cigarette, yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:40:58):
Yeah, or basketball, a basketball.

Speaker 5 (02:41:00):
Maybe.

Speaker 4 (02:41:01):
I don't think enough people knew about the cigarette, but
the cigar everybody knew about.

Speaker 5 (02:41:05):
Oh yeah, that's different.

Speaker 4 (02:41:08):
Who else George w oh, one of them got a
shoe thrown at him.

Speaker 2 (02:41:13):
That was the first George Bush.

Speaker 4 (02:41:14):
Yeah, shoe, and then the second George Bush.

Speaker 2 (02:41:17):
No, that was the second George Bush got the shoe.

Speaker 4 (02:41:21):
So he'd have the shoe and then the first one
would have the thousand Points of Life. Yeah like that, right,
what about Reagan a Hollywood star?

Speaker 2 (02:41:32):
Okay, what about Nixon?

Speaker 4 (02:41:35):
Chuckers, did you hear the story about the Quinn told, oh,
my god, you got story. Yeah. So Quinn came in
the other day and he was telling us he was
at trivia with Maddie and his you know, soon to
be in laws, and they're doing the trivia thing and
he said that normally it's a younger set, and so

(02:41:56):
they asked the question what was the name of Nixon's dog?
And Quinn looked around like, well, everybody knows this, and
everybody was just confounded. He goes, it's Checkers, what is
wrong with everybody? And he's Checkers that he's the only
one who got it in the whole place, and nobody knew.

Speaker 2 (02:42:12):
It was so great, I know, I said.

Speaker 4 (02:42:14):
There's gonna be so many things that you've learned from
us over the years that are just going to come
out in the weirdest ways. And in fact, Friday I
had to call I totally forgot they were all on
the road. I had to call our friend Bryce because
they had some stuff to give away at our auction,
and he's like, yeah, we're on the road and blah,
and I completely forgot that Quinn and Maddie were in

(02:42:34):
the back. Yeah, and so they were all heading down
to Boise and forgot about the time change. So all
of a sudden, they're like, because I had to call
Quinn about something else, and he said, yeah, we're getting
ready for the wedding right now, we're we forgot about
the hour time change. So we're like it helped him
on the way back.

Speaker 2 (02:42:50):
Oh, she's nice, but.

Speaker 4 (02:42:52):
Yeah, they had a long day, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:42:55):
Really long.

Speaker 2 (02:42:56):
They drove down for the wedding, right, they drove.

Speaker 4 (02:42:58):
Down Friday morning for Friday afternoon wedding, Friday evening wedding,
and then back the next day. Oh jelly beans. For Reagan,
good one, of course. But for Nixon also, it wouldn't
really it would be Watergate. I mean it would be like, right,
you just do the little Watergate symbols, JFK, Camelot, like

(02:43:21):
what was his name, Marylyn, the Maryland dress. Oh, I
don't know if people would like that, but a few
people that wouldn't like it, well, yeah, I like president talk.
It's just that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (02:43:37):
How about Pope talk.

Speaker 3 (02:43:38):
Do you like Pope love now that we got a
Murcan In nineteen seventy eight, on this day, forty seven
years ago, Pope John Paul the First was found dead
in his Vatican apartment, just thirty four days after becoming
the two hundred and sixty third Pope.

Speaker 2 (02:43:58):
Rumors persist, Yes, he had been poisoned.

Speaker 4 (02:44:01):
Yes, oh, I think wot's shenanigans and mayhem and all
of it and conspiracies. Yes, yes, all of it. That
doesn't sound How old was he?

Speaker 6 (02:44:17):
Wait?

Speaker 2 (02:44:17):
Year was it?

Speaker 4 (02:44:17):
It was nineteen seventy eight, and they didn't do an autopsy.

Speaker 2 (02:44:22):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:44:24):
Steighteen seventy eight had autopsies.

Speaker 3 (02:44:26):
Then you know that you know the church, you know
they keep everything.

Speaker 2 (02:44:33):
I don't know. I don't know. I'm not I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:44:37):
You're not in the inside of the paper goings on.

Speaker 2 (02:44:40):
No, I don't have any secret information coming out of there.

Speaker 4 (02:44:44):
Okay, fair enough.

Speaker 3 (02:44:48):
And then forty one years ago today, where were you
in nineteen eighty four? This is the prime time for you, right, Oh.

Speaker 2 (02:44:52):
My god, eighty four.

Speaker 4 (02:44:53):
I was just about to start eleventh grade.

Speaker 3 (02:44:57):
Okay, and you're listening to the meute, you're listening for radio.
What's the number one song in the country.

Speaker 4 (02:45:05):
I just called the 's Say I Love You? It
is probably up there far I remember, Oh, maybe that
was a little later. Let's see number one girls just
want to have fun?

Speaker 2 (02:45:12):
No, yeah, right in that What else is.

Speaker 4 (02:45:15):
Happening during that time? If I had my sweet sixteen
in May, going into eleventh grade, there was a lot
of Depeche Mode out there. There was a lot of
Geran Duran. I can't think of the number one.

Speaker 2 (02:45:28):
Let's Go Crazy by Prince Oh.

Speaker 5 (02:45:30):
I was okay, very good, of course.

Speaker 2 (02:45:33):
Oh, of course.

Speaker 4 (02:45:33):
That whole summer we listened to Yeah to the Purple Rain.

Speaker 2 (02:45:38):
Yeah, and I believe that was his first number one,
was it.

Speaker 4 (02:45:43):
That's from the Purple Rain soundtrack? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:45:47):
Good.

Speaker 4 (02:45:47):
Nixon would be a tape recorder, Janius. Thank you Wayne
from England, who's not really from England, he's just living there.
Good one, Yes, very good. You can have all the
little items on one side, and all the presidents. When
I was a kid, I loved those assignments the best.
You know, you get the mimiograph and you just have

(02:46:08):
to draw a line from one thing to the other.
And because I always thought I have a pretty good
shot at this, Like I don't have to come up
with something on my own. I just have to draw
a line to the thing that works the best.

Speaker 3 (02:46:19):
Or you could just make it just fun for us,
like like we would have like the bathtub. We would all, oh,
well that's tact. And then maybe a cherry tree Washington.

Speaker 2 (02:46:31):
And then maybe.

Speaker 4 (02:46:37):
You had a joke.

Speaker 2 (02:46:38):
Yes I did. It was a good one too. Uh yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:46:43):
Stuff anyway, stuff we would enjoy. You could have for Lincoln,
you could have his hat, and then you could have
a little barn burning on the side where John Wilkes
booth is going. I'm sorry, I didn't know it's against
papal mandate to have a pope autopsyed. Well, of course.

Speaker 5 (02:47:06):
He was poisoned.

Speaker 4 (02:47:07):
Then they would never be able to prove it. Right,
of course, was he controversial? I mean, thirty four days.

Speaker 2 (02:47:19):
Come on, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:47:21):
Something happened in the world. I don't know something happened.

Speaker 2 (02:47:27):
What would you have for Grover Cleveland? Grover Cleveland he
was a president twice. You know, I don't know what.

Speaker 4 (02:47:36):
Was his story.

Speaker 5 (02:47:36):
Well, give me give me some of his highlights.

Speaker 2 (02:47:39):
Well, he married like a fifteen year old.

Speaker 5 (02:47:41):
Or okay, well then we just have a jail cell
right there.

Speaker 2 (02:47:45):
Or no, he was the one that never married.

Speaker 4 (02:47:46):
Oh geesdy. What do he look like?

Speaker 3 (02:47:52):
Well he looked like a guy named Grover. Oh yeah,
well I think you had a big old stash and everything.
What about garf Field?

Speaker 4 (02:48:01):
Well, Garfield, do you have the kiddy here?

Speaker 2 (02:48:03):
I just have a cat.

Speaker 4 (02:48:03):
Yeah, let's see. Oh he was the twenty second and
twenty fourth president.

Speaker 2 (02:48:10):
Right.

Speaker 4 (02:48:11):
Oh he was born in He was born in Cleveland,
and his name is Cleveland, so we just have a picture. Yeah,
Grover is his name. He was a Democrat.

Speaker 3 (02:48:23):
What do you say about his wife? He was either
the one that married someone super young or never married.

Speaker 2 (02:48:30):
I can't remember.

Speaker 4 (02:48:31):
Uh, No, he was. He was married to Francis. Oh
that's a good hearty name for a gal, Francis Grover.

Speaker 2 (02:48:40):
What do you do? Friends? What'd you think of Grover?
Did you like Groover?

Speaker 4 (02:48:43):
Crover? You Crover? They had Ruth Esther Francis and Richard Cleveland.
They had four kids, Sturdy named kids.

Speaker 2 (02:48:53):
You know.

Speaker 4 (02:48:54):
Ruth is the first book, a first woman, a female
book in the Bible. So Ruth is a biblical name.
So was Esther. So, Francis, I don't know about Richard.
Richard's not a biblical name, is it Richard Stick? No? No,
the others are facts and accomplishments.

Speaker 2 (02:49:13):
Grower clean. Oh yeah, facts are the facts.

Speaker 4 (02:49:15):
Oh, that's gonna be a video. We don't want to Vita.
He had five hundred and eighty four vetos. We could
just put a veto thing there for him. He ended
the Apache War with Geronimo's surrender.

Speaker 2 (02:49:29):
What did say when he jumped out of the airplane?

Speaker 10 (02:49:34):
Me?

Speaker 4 (02:49:38):
He dedicated the statue of liberty. Oh, we could give
him that. He taken an anti imperialist stance on Hawaii
and he decisively ended the Pullman strike and federal troops
with federal troops. So I say, we give him the liberty,
the statue liberty thing, and we just see him there
dedicating it.

Speaker 2 (02:50:00):
Right, all right?

Speaker 3 (02:50:01):
Sold Travis says that Grover was married to Francis for
twenty two years.

Speaker 4 (02:50:06):
Did you hear that, Dave?

Speaker 2 (02:50:09):
How old was Francis when she married him? Say?

Speaker 4 (02:50:13):
Gosh, well, I don't know if it's going to say
how old they were. Let's see, she was super young,
she she was. She lived from eighteen eighty six to
nineteen oh eight, So how old does that make her?
Not very old? That's ninety six is ten, So she

(02:50:37):
was only like twenty four when she died. Am I
doing my mouth right?

Speaker 2 (02:50:41):
No? That can't be right.

Speaker 4 (02:50:43):
So eighty six to ninety six is ten to two
thousand and six is twenty she was, it says she was.
They were married from oh.

Speaker 2 (02:50:54):
Here, it is right here. He's got it right here.

Speaker 3 (02:50:56):
Grover was forty nine, she was twenty one, that's right.
So yeah, so maybe she got married, maybe she maybe,
and then she had all the kids and then and
then she passed away pretty pretty early. That's that is
the story I was thinking of. So he's forty nine
and she's twenty one. Now even like like even the

(02:51:17):
like Hollywood people, you know, when yeah, run around with
somebody that's much younger. I mean, that's twenty seven years,
twenty eight years, and he was a president.

Speaker 4 (02:51:27):
This doesn't Oh, I was thinking she was born they
were married then, what was I'm looking at the age
thing thinking? Yes, okay, I was looking at like they
were married dates with her age dates. They were married
in eighty six and then okay, and then she died
in eight Okay, Yeah, that's a that's a big difference.

Speaker 3 (02:51:46):
And then Debbie says Buchanan was the one that never
married his niece served as first lady. I think I
I think I remember that too. But Grover was the
one that was the you know, he had the young wife.
I mean, you're forty nine, you run around with a
twenty one.

Speaker 4 (02:52:01):
Year old, and let me tell you this not a
good look in forty nine. No, I mean he was stern,
he seemed like and he seemed like he'd get crumbs
in his mustache, Oh didn't. It seemed like he'd never
quite get that sink lean and she just have to
lay there and deal with it. Only late on her,
And you know that's all he did. He went late

(02:52:22):
on her with all of his might. You only hope
that he let her take the high road once in
a while. And just because that's a lot to put
on somebody, a little twenty one year old, all of
that Grover on him.

Speaker 5 (02:52:38):
That's terrible, poor woman.

Speaker 4 (02:52:41):
I want to see what she looked like.

Speaker 6 (02:52:44):
I wanted to.

Speaker 2 (02:52:48):
I don't think we should be doing this.

Speaker 4 (02:52:51):
Why they're all dead now, I'm going to get a
look at Francis and see poor Francis, Oh the innocence.

Speaker 5 (02:52:59):
She like, she's going out out.

Speaker 4 (02:53:01):
Ouch ouchcrover, you're too heavy, get off. She was pretty,
she was very pretty, and she birthed all his children
for him. Nice job, Francis, good job. Yeah, all right.
Well now you've got that image stuck with you for
the rest of.

Speaker 3 (02:53:21):
The the the one that put the image in there,
I just knew that he was, like he had a
young wife.

Speaker 2 (02:53:28):
Almost scandalous by today's sandy.

Speaker 3 (02:53:31):
Can you imagine if a president today or somebody like
high up in politics had.

Speaker 4 (02:53:36):
A well how old is President Trump? And how old
is Millenia?

Speaker 2 (02:53:41):
Well, I don't think that's it's not twenty eight years.

Speaker 4 (02:53:44):
Yes it is. No, it's every bit of twenty eight years. So, yes,
it is. He's eighty, he's going to be eighty. Let's see.
Let's see Trump age. Well, let's just yeah and Milania.
Milania Trump and Millenia age. What is the age difference?

(02:54:09):
Twenty four years?

Speaker 2 (02:54:10):
Twenty four see Donald?

Speaker 4 (02:54:11):
Now it says he's seventy eight. I thought he was older.
She's fifty four. He's seventy eight, So scandalous, I don't know.
I mean, that's twenty four ages.

Speaker 2 (02:54:20):
Twenty four is way different than twenty eight.

Speaker 4 (02:54:24):
The difference is that actually it says that he's seventy
nine now and she's fifty five. But the difference is
he wasn't the president when he married her, so that
I mean fact they've been married. They've been married a
long time.

Speaker 2 (02:54:41):
Did you hear that, Molly don't?

Speaker 4 (02:54:44):
Just yeah, the age gap. But so she was twenty
eight when she married him.

Speaker 2 (02:54:53):
How old was he?

Speaker 4 (02:54:54):
Well, I don't know. Do the math. I don't know.
She was twenty eight and he was fifty two. That
doesn't seem I mean, I guess, but but.

Speaker 3 (02:55:05):
I mean Grover Cleveland. Look at Grover's way. I didn't
look at a twenty one year old.

Speaker 4 (02:55:09):
And you know, I know, I know, Dave, I feel it.
I feel it. It's auchi, it's auchie, and it's just
not fair. It's not fair to put that kind of
pressure on anybody.

Speaker 2 (02:55:20):
Our Texters are hilarious, and.

Speaker 4 (02:55:22):
Grover fairly newer. Mm hmm. He was too heavy for intercourse.
Thank you, Joan, I'm so disturbed, says Hand. Right now,
this is great and sis true. And let's see what else.

(02:55:43):
A family friend Cleveland had been close to Francis his
family for years. He had known her there, he had
known her since birth as uncle Cleave.

Speaker 2 (02:55:52):
That's it. I heard that story.

Speaker 4 (02:55:53):
Yes, Gross, When Francis was eleven, her father died in
a carriage accident without a will. Cleveland and his law
partner became the administrator of that will that oversaw Francis
is Karen education and only sex. Ever, all she ever.

Speaker 5 (02:56:12):
Knew was Clover.

Speaker 4 (02:56:13):
She never ever got to have any Clover. I'm calling
him Clover from now on. Imagine that's your whole life.
Your dad dies, you're eleven, Oh dad, Okay, Well we'll
take care of a little lady.

Speaker 5 (02:56:32):
Don't worry.

Speaker 4 (02:56:32):
I know your dad didn't leave a will, but I'm
pretty sure we're going to oversee your education and everything.
Oh now, now twenty one. Time to marry me, and
I've gotten bigger. This is going to be great, Grover Clover.
That's not fair to put that on somebody, especially a

(02:56:53):
twenty one year old. He barely knew her well, he
knew her well enough to do that.

Speaker 2 (02:57:00):
Oh, listen to this.

Speaker 3 (02:57:01):
What John Tyler was thirty years older than his wife.

Speaker 4 (02:57:06):
Oh jeez, there's an article I was reading on Glover
Cleveland and he it was titled Beauty and the Beast
of Buffalo. Let's see, how do you get Dick from Richard?

(02:57:27):
You ask him nicely? Is that honny? We probably shouldn't.
Maybe that's a dirty joke.

Speaker 2 (02:57:47):
I don't know what.

Speaker 9 (02:57:48):
Yeah, oh my god?

Speaker 2 (02:57:57):
Moving on. Hey, you know what, today's the fortieth or
of mcgiver.

Speaker 4 (02:58:01):
Oh mcgiver, Yes.

Speaker 3 (02:58:05):
Ran for seven seasons, made Richard Dean Anderson a star.

Speaker 4 (02:58:10):
No, you made Dick Deane Anderson. I've exhausted myself. I've
made myself.

Speaker 2 (02:58:20):
What this when I ran across this this morning? Going
to bring this up?

Speaker 3 (02:58:26):
Okay, and I'm gonna I'm gonna read it just as
it is, and I believe you are going to say
the same thing that I was thinking to myself.

Speaker 2 (02:58:34):
Okay, Okay, Ready here it is thirty two years ago. Today,
here is nineteen ninety three.

Speaker 3 (02:58:40):
Okay, Willie Nelson is inducted into the Country Music Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 4 (02:58:46):
What took him so long? H come one three? And
I'm not a big Willie Nelson person, but.

Speaker 2 (02:58:53):
He's the guy. Right.

Speaker 4 (02:58:55):
It's like a hundred albums or something.

Speaker 2 (02:58:56):
Crazy thought what I thought? The same name, It's like.

Speaker 5 (02:59:00):
One person's going No, I don't see it, not quite yet.

Speaker 2 (02:59:03):
Yeah, yeah, too long?

Speaker 4 (02:59:05):
Wait like the brain the hippie or Harry smokes the marijuana.

Speaker 2 (02:59:09):
Yeah, GE's country music.

Speaker 5 (02:59:11):
Yeah, get it together.

Speaker 3 (02:59:13):
And thirty one years ago today, the Pointer sisters got
their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Speaker 2 (02:59:17):
Oh yeah, good, that's good.

Speaker 4 (02:59:19):
All three of the sisters were there.

Speaker 3 (02:59:22):
Twenty four years ago today, Jennifer Lopez married her second husband.

Speaker 4 (02:59:26):
Do you hear that me?

Speaker 2 (02:59:30):
Can you name her second husband?

Speaker 4 (02:59:33):
Her second husband was the guy she had the kids with.

Speaker 2 (02:59:36):
Right, I don't think they had kids?

Speaker 4 (02:59:40):
Uh, then I cannot Chris Judd? Oh, who was her
first husband? Was that the singer guy who she had
the kids with? I thought she was married to somebody
when she was young and never had kids. And then
that must have been the one, the Mark Anthony.

Speaker 3 (02:59:57):
Yeah, so so he was. Chris Judd was two. Then
she had an engagement to Ben Affleck. That gave way
to the failed marriage to Mark Anthony.

Speaker 2 (03:00:09):
Right.

Speaker 3 (03:00:10):
And then there was somebody else after there, Peter who's
the They never got married.

Speaker 4 (03:00:16):
Though they were engaged.

Speaker 5 (03:00:18):
That failed.

Speaker 4 (03:00:20):
Then she got married to Ben Affleck again.

Speaker 2 (03:00:23):
And then she married Grover Cleveland.

Speaker 4 (03:00:32):
She's, Yeah, what movie? I rewatched a movie called Aloha?
Do you remember the movie Aloha? It was your friend Emma.

Speaker 2 (03:00:42):
Stone, Oh, the great Emma Stone, and.

Speaker 4 (03:00:45):
The other girl from the Notebook, Rachel McAdams, Oh wow,
and silver Lining playbook guy.

Speaker 2 (03:00:54):
Oh, Bradley Cooper.

Speaker 4 (03:00:55):
Yeah, all of them and more. And he's it's like
about he goes back to Hawaii. He's like a secret
service guy anywhere. He's part of the military. Anyway, it's
a lot of Aloha spirit. It's very cute movie. It
was a fun rewatch.

Speaker 2 (03:01:08):
What year did it come out?

Speaker 4 (03:01:10):
I want to say fourteen, Okay, something like that. It's
a sweet movie. I watched it the other night. When
I was I was looking around, I almost almost put
down that black rabbit thing, and I just couldn't do it.
I don't want the violence. I just don't. Aloha is
twenty fifteen. Okay, Yeah, it's cute.

Speaker 3 (03:01:33):
Oh, Jenna says she's related to Francis Fulsome stop it.

Speaker 2 (03:01:39):
What are the odds of that?

Speaker 4 (03:01:41):
Hmm?

Speaker 2 (03:01:42):
That's quite something.

Speaker 4 (03:01:43):
Yeah, what does your family have to say? They still
scarred from it all? What's this somebody sent? H what
is this? Oh? Is this the age difference between houses.

Speaker 2 (03:02:01):
Oh yeah, yeah, Trump's.

Speaker 4 (03:02:04):
Got one of the biggest Clover. John Tyler's got the
biggest kids.

Speaker 2 (03:02:08):
Keep Clover's Crover.

Speaker 4 (03:02:12):
I know, but I'm combining it. But next to yeah,
I mean, the current one is pretty big difference.

Speaker 5 (03:02:22):
Age difference.

Speaker 4 (03:02:26):
So Filmore Junior High Willard Millard Fillmore would just have
a picture of Brady Bunch High School because that's where
they went. Fillmore Junior High, Millard Fillmore.

Speaker 3 (03:02:36):
His wife was thirteen years younger, almost fourteen. Really yeah,
JFK JFF Gibbs. That's twelve years. Yeah, there were twelve
years difference.

Speaker 4 (03:02:47):
That's a big difference.

Speaker 3 (03:02:48):
It's not as crazy as I thought. But I just
have to Grover Cleveland thing. I mean, that's the thing
that sticks out. And I remember hearing that story that
they you know, like he knew her when she was like.

Speaker 4 (03:02:59):
A family friend.

Speaker 2 (03:03:00):
That's the high creep factor there. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:03:03):
I just want to look at John Tyler and and
I want to just see what his so ow gross,
why why where is his spouse? They don't picture his
spouse anywhere. Children, they have his children, grandchildren.

Speaker 3 (03:03:26):
Well, he's the one that had the he has a
great grandson that is still like with us. Yeah, that
was like in the fun Facts from I don't know
a few months ago.

Speaker 4 (03:03:38):
Well, I don't know why they wouldn't show his wife. Hello,
let's get a look at her. See what ah Lydia Laisia.
I think it's Latitia. Yeah, seven children. It's a lot
of lanth. But I'll tell you this. He's a tall
drink of water, is what he is. He's a slimmer

(03:04:00):
kind of guy. He doesn't look like he's very fun
or nice though. You know. She died in the White
House in September of eighteen forty two.

Speaker 5 (03:04:10):
And then he remarried.

Speaker 4 (03:04:11):
Oh she's man. So she dies in forty two and
then he uh July twenty third. It's seven more children?
Oh okay, so she had eight and then the next
one had seven. No wonder, there's still Tyler's running around

(03:04:32):
this place.

Speaker 2 (03:04:33):
Well, a lot of Tyler's.

Speaker 4 (03:04:35):
Yeah, and he's tall.

Speaker 3 (03:04:39):
Yeah anyway, and then look, this is amazing to me.
It was twelve years ago today. Yeah, this is twenty thirteen. Okay,
that Breaking Bad ended ended like it has been. It
has been off the air. There's been no Breaking Bads
for twelve years, right, is that amazing.

Speaker 4 (03:05:02):
Yes, and there were ten years. How many seasons were there?

Speaker 2 (03:05:07):
Five? I believe. Okay, I didn't start watching.

Speaker 3 (03:05:10):
It until two thousand. When did I start watching that?
I think it was twenty fourteen, so it was it
was years after.

Speaker 4 (03:05:20):
It was done. Yeah, yeah, that is crazy. So what
year did it.

Speaker 2 (03:05:25):
Twenty thirteen?

Speaker 4 (03:05:27):
So it started in two thousand and eight. Yeah, wow, Yeah,
Yeah that's great.

Speaker 3 (03:05:33):
And it's still one of the most polled series. Like yeah,
there's all the you know, like the comedy ones like
Seinfeld Frenzos are all huge, still huge, but for you know,
with drama content. Yeah, it's still people like new people
are still saying, oh, I'm going to start watching Breaking

(03:05:54):
Bad still works. I started way late. Yeah, you know,
it would have had already ended by the time I.

Speaker 4 (03:06:00):
Started it, and I've never seen it.

Speaker 2 (03:06:02):
Yeah, it's pretty, it's it's amazing.

Speaker 4 (03:06:03):
But I feel like it's something in my pocket that
I could pull out on a snowy. You know, we
get snowed in and we think, let's just go ahead
and inge that camb something.

Speaker 3 (03:06:16):
Yeah, and even for me as wimpy as I am,
it's it was worth it. Pretty brutal things, but yeah,
I've never met anyone that says, oh, Breaking Bad was overrated. Right,
there's people that will say, oh, I rank this series
ahead of Breaking Bad, But Breaking Bad is pretty great.
No one, no one says anything. I mean, it's yeah,
it's one of the best ever. Yeah, television know it.

(03:06:39):
Tonight we do have two football games, two Monday night
football games.

Speaker 2 (03:06:42):
The first one you have the O and three Miami.

Speaker 3 (03:06:46):
Dolphins who against the oh and three New York Jets.

Speaker 4 (03:06:50):
Oh, somebody will have a win at the end of
the night, or a tie.

Speaker 3 (03:06:54):
Right, wouldn't that be What if it's a zero zero tie,
you get nothing.

Speaker 2 (03:07:00):
Yeah, here's the sad part about it.

Speaker 3 (03:07:02):
Yes, the winner of this game will have the same
record as the Baltimore Ravens, an AFC.

Speaker 4 (03:07:10):
Favor God, when you put it like.

Speaker 2 (03:07:14):
That, crazy, that's bad. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:07:17):
The second game, which actually starts an hour later on
a different channel. The first game is just ESPN, second
game is a ABC. But the second game will be
the Broncos hosting the Cincinnati Bengals. On paper, at the
beginning of the season without oh, this will be two
good teams, you know, but you know, the Bengals lost
their quarterback. They're kind of a disaster right now. So

(03:07:40):
the Broncos are supposed to win big.

Speaker 4 (03:07:42):
And remember when I was making my decision early, there
was talk of the Bengals being my team because I
like that quarterback too, And then luckily I stuck with
Thellians because the roar. In fact, I have some I
have to press the button on a couple of things
that I ordered. I had a hat and some stuff
that I ordered my Lions gear, but it'll be here

(03:08:04):
by this coming weekend. I put the brakes on it.
I only had my one T shirt, but now I
need all my gear. I want ear rings, hat, you're
all in box. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:08:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:08:18):
I saw somebody come around the corner yesterday and I
thought for a minute they had Lions gear on, but
it was Chargers gear. But just to split it was
the wild Yeah, and I went and then I went,
you're not a Lions fan.

Speaker 3 (03:08:34):
So Malians as you call her Malians, Yes, all right,
let's call her day.

Speaker 2 (03:08:42):
We have a busy day ahead.

Speaker 4 (03:08:43):
Yes, my mom's coming here the building. She's going to
be the she's got to do this whole zoom thing
with the hall Mark. And I think Quinn and Scott
are going to help Tracy kind of help set it up.
So the nice people at HQ were able to solve
the problem because they, you know, they say what they do.

(03:09:05):
You know, a regular press junkit, you would go and
you'd be in a hotel room and they come through. Well,
now they do it on zoom, so they have you
all there and then each reporter comes to the zoom
room to ask you questions. So she'll just be there
for a long time, like an hour and a half,
but I won't be there the whole time she's here.
So she's coming, I where is she going to be?

Speaker 2 (03:09:23):
Like? What?

Speaker 4 (03:09:24):
Probably there's a studio where we filmed the video for
the Safety Net auction. There's the room that they use
has really good lighting which is a plain back background,
So she's going to be doing that.

Speaker 5 (03:09:36):
So she'll be here soon.

Speaker 4 (03:09:37):
So I'll hang around and wait for her to come,
and I'm definitely going to get a walk and or
a workout in today. It's my pledge, it's my I
have to start doing stuff. I have to now there's
no excuse. And then the girls will be doing tracks.
I'll go check in with them, and I will also
prepare anything for tomorrow's show that needs to be done

(03:09:57):
all prepared today because tonight.

Speaker 2 (03:09:59):
Will be late night.

Speaker 4 (03:10:00):
We'll be out at the at the casino, so we'll
be out there starting at five forty five, probably till ten.

Speaker 2 (03:10:08):
I think it'll go till ten.

Speaker 4 (03:10:09):
Yeah, so that's okay, just prepare. If I have a
few minutes, i'll close my eyes. But I feel pretty good.
I feel rested. I went to bed pretty early last night.
And I have my new program that I like, that Wayward.
I really like it. But I won't have a chance
to watch it today. And sadly, my lunch is sitting
out in my house, so that will now be thrown away.

Speaker 2 (03:10:31):
What will the dog get it?

Speaker 4 (03:10:32):
No, it's in containers in a bag on top. It's
like some Thai noodle stuff and some chicken salad and
stuff from the Anyway, I need to go to the
grocery store too, get some healthy items, some salthy snacks.

Speaker 3 (03:10:47):
That's the day I'll catch up on a few things
I would like to.

Speaker 2 (03:10:52):
I should take them out for a walk. It took
her on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (03:10:57):
I was able to do Friday and Saturday morning because
I was that's pretty good. Ye's nice and cool out
in the night.

Speaker 3 (03:11:02):
Yeah, I'll get out at some point. I don't think
I'm gonna I don't think I need an app. I
don't think i'll take a n AAP. So I'll get
some house stuff done. My daughter's official birthday today, but
she's got stuff with her friends in the afternoon, and
then we will head out for the the event tonight. Yeah,
at Northern West. I'd like to get there early to

(03:11:22):
pick up my free gift.

Speaker 4 (03:11:26):
I'll probably get there. I'll get there a little early.
I will now that I know that I have that
extra time. There's no really time to go. I hate
going home for just a few minutes. The dog gets
her hopes up, and it's sad. It's really sad.

Speaker 3 (03:11:39):
We'll have stories to tell tomorrow because somebody will win
a truck or the forty five grand, and since the
last person took the cash, whoever wins, they get their.

Speaker 2 (03:11:49):
Pick of the truck.

Speaker 3 (03:11:50):
There's two different trucks, so yeah, there's still there's still
two trucks.

Speaker 4 (03:11:54):
Wide or red.

Speaker 2 (03:11:55):
Yeah mm hmmm.

Speaker 3 (03:11:57):
So all right, have a great day, everybody, Thank you,
thank you very much for being with us.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
