Doctor Joanne Conaway a national pathic physician. Now she is
a internationally acclaimed speaker and an author of Why America
Is So Sick You can put the slight up for
that book and linking digestive health.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
To immunity and hormone issues.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Doctor Conoway's background includes the Bachelor of Science and nursing.
In nineteen seventy six, she was a nurse involved in
er trauma, operating room, critical care and fiction control, cardier care,
and nursing education and management. She even spent several years

(03:51):
specializing as a nutritional support nurse, caring for people they
can only.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Eat through the feeding too, not through.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
The mouth, and this experience sparked her passion about helping
people understand the importance of a healthy diet and a
healthy digestive system. Doctor Conaway is a retired Lieutenant colonel,
spending twenty years in the US Air Force and Reserves,
mostly as an a medical evacuation nurse. Being uncomfortable about

(04:25):
caring for patients fully the mainstream model. After learning so
much about natural approach, doctor Conaway retired from nursing and
went back to school to become a national Pathic position.
We'll be talking about uncovering through toxin. What's lurking on
your plate? So let's welcome doctor Joanne Conaway and that

(04:48):
National Pathic Position speaker and author.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
And let's welcome to John Conway back to my show.
So delighted to be here with you again today. Thank
you so much for having Oh.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I love that you were able to come back. So
let's get to the interview.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Now.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Some people are not aware that prepackaged foods are that
are not healthy. What are some toxic credients found and
prepackaged and of course processed foods.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Well, you know, it's interesting that you say that a
lot of people don't realize that they are not healthy,
and that is so true, and especially in today's world,
so many people have grown up only with prepackaged and
processed foods. They don't really realize what it means to
go to the grocery store and buy something that you
have to prepare if it doesn't come out of a
package or a box, they don't know what to do.

(05:38):
And so the sad reality is so many of these
prepackaged and processed foods are loaded with things that are toxic. Now,
the fascinating thing is many of these things are not
even allowed in foods in Europe. So let's talk about
a few, because if you go out, you can find
twenty six different listed items that are con that are toxic.

(06:01):
The majority of those are carcinogenic, meaning they are known
to cause cancer in certain situations. So do you really
want to be eating prepackaging, processed foods that are loaded
with cancer causing substances. Probably not. So when we talk
about some of the common toxins and food, one is
sodium nitrate. Sodium nitrate is added to a lot of

(06:23):
your prepackaged, in processed foods, and especially to things that
contain meat. The recent sodium nitrate is added to meat
is to help stop bacterial growth. So the sad reality
is there's a lot of bacterial growth that may in
fact impact beef, for example, and certain meats, and so
they add the sodium nitrate, which is considered by many

(06:46):
to be the worst food additive because it's been linked
to cancer in humans. Potassium bromate. Potassium bromate is something
that is used quite extensively in breads. This is used
to increase the ballvolume of the bread, also linked to
cancer in humans BH and BHT. This is a fat preservative,

(07:08):
so it's used to extend the shelf life. So many
of those foods that are prepackaged and processed have lots
of fats in them, and what they are looking to
do is extend the shelf life there. I know, I
personally did an experiment myself many many years ago when
I owned a campground and I took a bear claw,

(07:28):
which you know is loaded with good hydrogenated fats, okay,
and I kept that well. Interestingly, I found that bear
claw after we had been gone for all winter, okay,
because it was seasonal campground. I found it looking exactly
the way I left it, and I thought, how is this? Oh?
I know? So what I then did was I took

(07:49):
that bear claw and I stuck it on up on
top of the refrigerator in my apartment and left it
there for a couple of years and still no change
in the appearance. So you know, that can't possibly be
good for you. And like my husband used to say,
if it's not food for bacteria, how can it possibly
be food for us? Propylene glycol. A lot of people

(08:11):
are familiar with propylene glycol because it's anti freeze. Okay,
we know the propylene glycol is used a lot to
help to thicken dairy products and salad dressings. Buttane Utane
is put into chicken nuggets to help keep them remain
fresh tasting, but buttane is a known parcentogen. And then
mona sodium glutamate manaesodium glutamate is one of those additives

(08:35):
that's a flavor in answer and it's been a food
additive for many, many years, but it's also for many
years been linked to bad headaches, migraine headaches. Many people
if you go and have Chinese food, like, for example,
go in a Chinese restaurant, the advice is always to
say no MSG in my food because they use such
an enormous amount to help to enhance flavor that a

(08:56):
lot of people feel like they can't eat Chinese food
get bad headaches, when in fact what's happening is they're
eating the monastuting and glutamate refine vegetable oils. And that's
all vegetable oils, your soybean oil, corn oil, safflower oil.
They're high in omega six essential fats. And what we
know is we get too much of the omega six

(09:19):
essential fats in our diet. We don't do not get
enough of the omega three. And so that's just a
short list. Like I said, there are twenty six known
toxins that are found in our food supply. That's awful.
It is awful.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
So, you know, there's a lot of talk about sugar too,
So what are the dangers of refined sugar?

Speaker 5 (09:43):
That's interesting because when we talk about refined sugar, there
really and truly is a difference between refined sugar and
all natural sugar. And the key takeaway is if you're
eating an all natural sugar. For example, people will say
to me, but it's fructose and frctose is fruit sugar,
And that is absolutely true. So if you're eating fruit,

(10:04):
a piece of fruit, and you're eating fruit sugar from
a whole food source, your body's going to process that
much differently than if you're eating a refined sugar. If
you're eating a piece of fruit, that sugar is already
prepackaged with all the cofactors that your body needs to

(10:24):
utilize that sugar properly. If you're eating a refined sugar,
it has none of those cofactors, It has none of
those vitamins and minerals to allow it to work properly
in the body. And so what happens is your body
has to steal those vital nutrients from the healthy cells

(10:46):
to make that sugar work. So when you give it
that kind of a discussion, you have to recognize that
it's not okay to say sugar is sugar is sugar,
because that's not true. We have, you know, different types
of sugars, and different types of sugars are because of

(11:06):
the molecules of sugars within them. And given that and
understanding that, we know that if it's a whole food source,
it's going to be healthier for you bottom line. If
it's something from a candy bar, or if it's something
that's refined, not only does the body have to draw
on its own reserves, but there are some very serious
consequences to eating sugars that unfortunately are refined. We know that,

(11:31):
for example, they can lead to because of stripping the
body from its normal nutrients like the vitamin bees and
the zinc. It can actually drive a person to lose
their sense of taste, or things that are sweet don't
taste quite so sweet. Cereal manufacturers have known this for

(11:53):
a long time, and what happens is they've added sugar,
more sugar, more sugar. The majority cereal it's out there
is not healthy by any stretch of the imagination. I
don't care what kind it is. I don't care how
organic it says it is. I don't care. It's not healthy, Okay,
for a lot of different reasons, but the sugar and cereal.
Many people used sugary cereal because it was a nice

(12:15):
sweet flavor first thing in the morning. They had to
add sugar because it contained so much sugar that was
refined sugar. It started to drive down the bee vitamins
and the zinc in people. And so what cereal manufacturers
realized was, people aren't enjoying this quite so much because
it doesn't taste quite so sweet. So they added more sugar.

(12:38):
So what did that do? Well, the addition of more
sugar drove down again the bee vitamins and the zinc.
Why is that important to people and why do people
need to realize that? Well, first of all, it drives
down B twelve. If you're eating refined sugars, you're driving
down your B twelve and your B twelve is essential
for building protective milin layer of the nerves. It's responsible

(13:00):
for neurotransmitter signaling. There are a lot of things that
the B vitamins do responsible for energy production. So this
can impact your stress levels, it can impact your cognitive function,
and your mood. Vitamin B six Vitamin B six is
responsible for oxygen delivery throughout the body and the production
of serotonin. Serotonin is that feel good hormone? Okay, the

(13:23):
production of serotonin actually depends on vitamin B six nor epinephrin.
But I think probably the biggest thing when we start
talking about mood for example, is it's also responsible for
the conversion of glutamate. Glutamate is your alert or excitatory neurotransmitter.
It's responsible for the conversion of that to gabba. Gabba

(13:45):
is the inhibitory neurotransmitter. Gaba is that transmitter that helps
to settle it down. Settle it down. Okay, So if
you don't have anything but that glutamate, you don't have
the conversion. Because you don't have enough B six, you're
likely to be up all the time. Magnesium. Magnesium can
also activate GABBA receptors, and the deficiency of magnesium can

(14:07):
cause neurological problems. It can cause anxiety, depression, fatigue, panic attacks,
and then zinc itself. Zinc is a very important mineral cofactor,
and if you don't have adequate amounts of zinc, it
can lead to a loss of taste. It can lead
to pike of behavior where people are seeking some food
that is not normally food to satisfy some nutritional need.

(14:30):
So it can drive pike of behavior. We know that
zinc is also responsible for infertility in men. So all
of these things are depleted. And one of the things
that I think is important to think about when we
talk about school shootings and incidents like that where people
just got crazy, they go bizark. Oftentimes, the report that
will come out is they were on some type of

(14:53):
an antidepressant, They were on some type of an anti
anxiety NED and they kind of leave it at that.
I had to back it up a little bit, and
my question is what was their diet like that made
them anxious and depressed enough to go to a doctor

(15:13):
to get a prescription for medication. So I link a
lot of it to diet, and for that reason because
of how much sugar, artificial sugar is in your diet,
and how much not artificial sugar, but sugar that's refined sugar,
how much refined sugar is in your diet, and what

(15:35):
that actually means. The other thing too, that I think
people don't recognize is the impact of sugar on the
immune system. It actually suppresses the immune system. There was
a study that was done way back in the nineteen
seventies at Lemolindo University that looked at sugar and the
impact of sugar on white blood cells, those special white

(15:56):
blood cells that seek out the foreign invaders and kill
them off. Okay, if you consume sugar, your immune system
is not functioning at an optimal level for at least
five hours wow. And based on the amount of sugar
you've consumed, it may impact your body's sability to actually

(16:19):
be able to engulf those bacteria and take care of
the issue or the problem. One of the things that
Linus Paul improved was that sugar competes for the same
sites on the cell wall membrane is vitamin C. And
so if you've got an overabundance of sugar that is
actually on those cell receptors, then the receptors cannot accept

(16:40):
the vitamin C, and so there's actually a competition for
vitamin C, and unfortunately that competition can prove to be
very harmful. One of the things that I suggest people
think about is the fact that so oftentimes around the
holidays people get sick. They just get sick. Well, think
about what we're consuming and eating around the holidays. Think

(17:04):
about the fact that there's an enormous amount of sugar
consumption around the holidays. Is that what's making people sick.
Is it lessening the immune system function enough that it's
making people sick. And we know that sugar alone is
pro inflammatory, meaning it is a major driver with respect
to chronic systemic iflemation. And when your immune system is

(17:28):
busy trying to put out the fires of inflammation and
being fed all this sugar that does all these detrimental things,
how can your immune system be expected to function and
keep you healthy?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
I can.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
So now that we've been talking about refined sugar, people
I think are a little bit more aware for some
reason our official sugars being good or bad. So what
our official sugars are better for us?

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Well, if I'm going to go with personally, if I'm
going to go with an artificial sugar, I'm going to
go with a sucrelose. I you know, because I've used
that type of a sugar for a long time and
I recognize if it's a healthy sucrelose, I can use
it and it's fine. You know, a lot of people
beat up sucrelose because sucrelose is often what we find

(18:16):
in things like splenda, and we know that it can
cause swelling of the liver, It can cause kidney issues
and kidney problems. It can also cause shrinkage of the
thymus gland in the brain. The thing that I caution
people about is when we start looking at these artificial sweeteners,
we have to kind of if we're going to choose
an artificial sweetener, we have to kind of pick the

(18:38):
least of the least. And one of the things that
we know about sucralose is if it is consumed as
sucralose and not as splenda, because splenda is mixed up
with other things and that's what makes it so much
more detrimental. But sucrelose is one of those things that
it leaves your body looking the same way molecularly, the

(19:02):
same molecular structure as it entered the body. Can it
cause problems and issues? I think that it can, and
you know, if it's a splendor for example, definitely, I
think that it can because of the other things that
are added to the splendor. I personally like stevia. I
like stevia because stevia comes from a plant, and whenever
I'm looking for something that I want to put into

(19:23):
my body, I want to put in something that's an
all natural. However, you have to be really careful because
they have started to package stevia with other additives and fillers,
and unfortunately stevia sometimes is not pure stevia. You have
to really look around to see what is pure stevia,
but the more common ones certainly not the ones that

(19:44):
I would use. I mean, for me, stevia is number one,
and that's the only thing that I have in my
kitchen currently. If it is someone who's looking for a
less expensive sugar substitute, sometimes I will say secretly, but
again with the caution, don't be using splendor. Don't be
using those things that are mixed with additives, because that's

(20:07):
going to be very detrimental to the human body. A
lot of people use sacrin a sacharin is considered the
worst of the worst. It's carcinogen and it's found to
cause bladder cancer and animals aspartame. Aspertain is very popular
and people say, well, how bad can it be for you?
You know, it's a couple of molecules of amino acid,

(20:28):
but it is bad for you. And aspertain has been
linked to a lot of the endocrine issues. It's an
excited toxin and a lot of people get hyped up.
They don't realize that it's the aspertain causing the problems,
but a lot of people get hyped up when they
drink something that has aspertain in it, so it can
cause dizziness. It's been known to cause headaches, blurred visions,

(20:51):
stomach issues and problems. So aspertain is again an artificial sugar.
It's an artificial sweetener. It's not an artificial sugar. I
take that back. It's not anurt official sugar. It's an
artificial sweetener. We have alternative sweeteners. We have artificial sweeteners.
You know. One of the alternative sweeteners that I like

(21:12):
is stdia. One of the artificial sweeteners that I especially
don't like is aspartain, and it's because of the damage
that I know that it can cause. HyperG dose. Corn
syrup is in the category of artificial sweet and again,
hypri does corn syrup compared to sugar, there's no comparison. Really, Yes,
they both sweeten, and that's about where the comparison ends. Okay,

(21:36):
Because hyprich does corn syrup is very detrimental to the
human body. When you consume hypric dose corn syrup, several
things happen. First of all, the body does not recognize
it as a carbohydrates source, doesn't know what to do
with it, and stores it immediately is fat. The second
thing that happens is it stands in the way of
the normal glycolytic pathway what we call it, where sugar

(21:58):
is driven into the cell by insult, it gets in
the way of that pathway. So if you're eating a
healthy sugar and you're also eating hyper dossek corn syrup.
Like a good example is you're going to a salad bar.
You go to a salad bar. When you go to
the salad bar, you're getting some veggies that have some
sugar in them. You're getting some probably some strawberries, depending
upon the time of year, maybe some blueberries and raspberries.

(22:21):
You're getting sugars. You're getting good, healthy sugars. But along
with that, you decide to eat a roll something that
is bread, it's not going to be good for you
for various different reasons. You know, we talk about gluten
in those things. But what I also caution people about
is the fact that the majority of bread that you
would find on a salad bar is going to be

(22:42):
made with hyperdust corn syrup. It's a very inexpressient sweetener.
So now I've eaten all these healthy sugars because I'm
eating the salad, and I eat my strawberries and my
blueberries and my raspberries, and I'm eating all these healthy sugars,
but I am actually negating any benefit because I've also
consumed hyper corn syrup. And it stands in the way
of that pathway whereby those good, healthy sugars would be

(23:06):
driven into the cell by insulin. The other thing it
does is it stands in the way, and the function
of the hormone leptin lepton is that hormone sends the
message to the brain and says, we've got enough fat
on board. We can kick up the metabolic rate and
burn up some of this fat. If you're consuming hyrictose
corn syrup, that leptin message never gets to the brain,

(23:27):
so the brain thinks, oh my gosh, we're starving. Hang
on to fat, don't kick up the metabolic rate. We
are afraid of letting go of any of this fat.
Lepton is a very important hormone in the body. And
then it also stands in the way. And the function
of the hormone growing grelling is the hormone that's produced
in the stomach stimulates you to eat. You know, we

(23:48):
talk about eating, and there are two different pathways that
drive eating behavior. The hedonic pathway, which is that pathway
whereby you just eat for pleasure, you just eat because
you want to eat, or you eat because it looks good.
But then we also have the starvation pathway that's driven
by grellin that says, I'm hungry, I need fuel, and
so it stands the way of the function of that hormone.

(24:09):
And unfortunately, people never feel satiated. They never feel as
though they've had enough to eat. And this is one
of the reasons why we can say hypric discorncyrup drives
eating behavior, drives over eating behavior, because people do not
feel satiated when they've eaten something that has hypric discorncrup

(24:30):
in it because of all of the things that have
happened to the hormones excuse me as a result. So, again,
sucralose not one that I would recommend as far as
an artificial sweetener. If you're going to do sucralose, you've
got to make sure that it's not splendent in a package,
that it's pure sucrelose. My favorite go to is Stevia,

(24:51):
And like I said, you know there there are people
who say, oh, well, a gove nectar that's really good,
but it contains high levels of frit toast, which ultimately
can cause insulin resistance. It's processed in the body in
a little bit different way than a whole food source.
Sugar is so it has been linked to things like
inflammation of the body tissue. It's been linked to liver disease.

(25:15):
So don't do it, you know now, I know personally
when we're talking about an alternative way to sweet, honey
is also a very good alternative sweet. But when we
talk about honey, the important thing to remember about honey
is you want to make sure several different things. Do
you want to make sure if you're using honey, that
you're only using a wooden or a plastic spoon. Do

(25:37):
not ever stick a metal spoon in honey because it
will kill off all of the enzymes that are in
the honey that make the honey so powerful. Okay, if
you're using honey, for example, excuse me. One of the
things that we know about honey is honey is great
to help your immune system and immune system function. Okay,

(25:57):
but don't go to the store and just buy a
jar honey, because in order for the honey to benefit
your immune system, what we know is it has to
be local honey because if you, for example, have allergies
to things that are in your local area, taking a
honey or eating a honey that doesn't have the benefit
of being produced in the local area, it's not going

(26:19):
to give you as much benefit. So I think honey
is a very good way, a very good approach as
far as an alternative sweetener. Monk fruit is another one
that has also gotten a lot of good press lately.
And again we're talking about something that comes from a plant.
We're not talking about something that is created in a laboratory.
And you know, as I used to say on my

(26:40):
radio show, if God made it, it's okay. If man
made it as questionable at best. And that's because you know,
these researchers think that they can do better than God
creating all of these things. And unfortunately it's been a
terrible disaster for most people because they just fall prey
to you know, the government says or researchers say that

(27:03):
this is the better way. What you're looking for is
whole food. What you're looking for is what comes from
the earth, what comes from nature. You're not looking for
what comes from the laboratory.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Thank you for putting that up now when it comes
to there are dangers with hydrigated fats and sea oils.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Can you explain that hydrogenated oils are not healthy and
you're not healthy? Because how do we what makes an
oil hydrogenated oil? Well, what they do is they pump
hydrogen into the oil to solidify it. Now we have
some partially hydrogenated, we have some fully hydrogenated. But the
problem is, once again, when we're talking about something created okay,

(27:48):
not by our maker, but something created in a lab,
we're talking about something that the body has to struggle
to utilize. And one of the fascinating things about things
likehydrogenated oils, they're going to be in every prepackaging processed food.
If you pick up a twinkie, for example, it's loaded

(28:09):
with hydrogenated oils. Why is it loaded with hydrogenated oils.
Because hydrogenated oils help to extend the shelf life. Hydrogenated
oils make it nice and squishy, Hydrogenated oils add flavor.
There's all reasons why hydrogenated oils are added to things
like that, but it's extending the shelf life that's a

(28:30):
big part of it. If you were to eat a twinkie,
for example, that was made with real butter and not
made with hydrogenated oils. Guess what, it's going to go bad.
You're not going to be able to keep it around
for any length of time. Okay. But those that are
made with hydrogenated oils, they have a much longer shelf life.
So you know, I asked people to think about it

(28:51):
in terms of prepackaging processed foods. Think about it like this,
as I said a few minutes ago, if it's not
food for bacteria, is it really food for us? Probably not.
But the other thing that I want you to think
about is if you have something that's prepackaged or processed,
comes in a box. Let's say something that comes in
a box, for example, and all you have to do
is just add a little bit of water. Okay, that's

(29:13):
not a whole food. That's not a food that has
any live active enzymes. It can't be in a box
and have live active enzymes. Okay, Is it really going
to provide nutrition for you? Probably not, because if there
was anything added to it in terms of vitamins and minerals,
they're not any good anymore anyway. Okay. But the other
thing to think about is that food whatever it is,

(29:36):
lives on a store shelf or however long, and then
it comes home and it lives on your pantry shelf
for however long, and so, really, of what benefit is
that food? And so, you know, I ask people to
think about it in terms of are you eating whole
food or are you eating fake, phony, plastic food, food
that provides no nutrition. Furthermore, the other thing that's so

(29:58):
bad about that, in my opinion, is when you're eating
foods that are loaded with preservatives and loaded with all
of those things that are so unhealthy for us, the
body doesn't know what to do with those foods. Now,
our pancreas is designed to produce enzymes to help our
body be able to break down and utilize the foods

(30:18):
we take in. The pancreas knows that that's its job.
So when you're giving the body a lot of fake, phony,
plastic food, the pancreas is still working on trying to
break some of those things down. But the pancreas doesn't
produce an enzyme that breaks down those things, and so
what happens is the pancreas becomes overworked, dramatically overworked trying

(30:42):
to break down the foods that you're taking in trying
to process those foods and make them go to work
for you. And that's one of the reasons why we're
seeing so many cases of pancreatitis inflammation of the pancreas.
It's not because people are drinking alcohol. Is because people
are eating fake phone plastic foods.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Well, that's interesting.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Other thing is kind of big is the sposed industry
and the Senate industry is beginning to dress food dyes
in the United States. And what are the surrounding food dyes.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
Well, you know, as with many things that are added
to our foods that don't belong there to start with,
they're carcinogenic. You know. Probably the the one takeaway is
that all food dyes are derived from petroleum. Okay, do
you want to be eating petroleum? So all food dyes

(31:35):
are derived from petroleum, which is a carcinogen often linked
to cancer. Okay. And when we talk about some of
the food dyes red number forty, for example, we find
in many foods red number forty easily colors the food. Okay,
it alters the food color. It makes it look so
delectable to some people. Okay, not to everybody, but to

(31:56):
some people, but it's considered the worst defender. Red number
four should flat not be there. Now. What has happened
to our food supply as the years have gone on
is food manufacturers have delighted in making foods that are fun,
fun for kiddo's, fun for adults. Instead of our food

(32:18):
being what we depend on for the energy that we
need and for the health of our bodies, we have
instead started making foods fun. Okay, So the bottom line
is to help make them be fun, help make them
be something that a kid might want. We've got to
add a lot of color to it. So red number
forty has become very popular. Blue number one, blue number one,

(32:41):
blue number You know, when I talk about these things,
it just kills me to think that all of this
stuff is in our food supply. But blue number one
is used in bakery products, it's used in candies, it's
used in soft drinks, and we know that it can
damage our chromosomes, so yeah, it can also lead to cancer.
Blue number two also use in candy. Blue number two

(33:02):
is also used in pet beverages. You know, the special
little things that you buy for your pet because your
pet is so special. Do you really want to be
giving your pet food dies. This blue number two is
linked to brain tumors. So when you think about you
think about an additive like blue number two in your food,
and think about those things that kiddos find so fascinating

(33:25):
so fun to eat, Skittles, for example, And personally, I
don't like skittles. I don't like much candy anyway, because
I don't like sweet, and one of those people sweet
doesn't excite me. And I know my granddaughter went to
a carnival and her mother let her try a little
bit of cotton candy and she was, oh, Grammy, it

(33:48):
was so good, it was so much fun. Do you
like cotton candy? I said, not at all. I said,
I cannot eat cotton candy. It's just too sweet for me.
I don't like the texture. I don't like the sweetness.
Citrus red number one is a food dye or food

(34:08):
coloring that is actually sprayed on oranges to make them
look right. And that's pretty sad, okay, I mean when
you and this is one of the reasons why when
people sometimes buy oranges, they'll open the orange and say,
my gosh, this is hard. It's not even ripened. Well,
it looks ripe on the outside. Why did it look
ripe on the outside. It looked ripe on the outside

(34:30):
because it had been sprayed. Green number three used in
a lot of candies, a lot of beverages, known to
cause bladder tumors in some of the studies that have
been done. Yellow number five used in a lot of desserts, candies,
and baked goods, not to cause kidney tumors in some
of the studies. The bottom line is, all of these colors,

(34:52):
all of these dyes, all of these things that make
food fun are not healthy for the human body. I mean,
we don't even know the extent to which some of
these things can harm us. Truly. Bottom line is, we
really don't know to the extent some of these can
harm us. So we know that many of these food dyes.

(35:13):
If the food manufacturers will do as they say they
are going to do, they can use all natural ingredients
to replace some of these food dies. For example, you
know when you look at the red number forty and
the red number two and the red number three, and
there's all different reds that are out there. Okay, let's
use something like beet juice. Beet juice is a delight

(35:36):
delightful red color. And you can dilute it with healthy
stuff like water. Okay, but you can dilute it down
so it's not quite so bright, not quite so vibrant.
If you don't want something quite as brivate, right or vibrant.
What about certain things like red grape juice. You know,
red grapes can provide red grape juice, and red grape

(35:58):
juice can be much healthier, certainly than any red dye. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Well, that's a lot of information. Now. I love everything
you provided today, but what is your offer for audience.

Speaker 5 (36:13):
I invite people to go out and take a look
at my website. My website is www dot Drjconaway dot com.

health to immunity and hormonal issues. When we talk about
the gut and we talk about the health of the gut.
It is so critically important if we're going to stay healthy.
And so when I do a consultation with someone, I

(36:55):
help them to understand once again what we refer to
as the offending foods, those foods that are so unhealthy,
and the importance and the reason many of the things
I've talked about today, but the reason why whole foods
are so much healthier and better for you. So, if
