Este é o cálice da nova aliança no meu sangue derramado em favor de vós. (Lucas 22.20)
Isso significa que a nova aliança, prometida mais explicitamente em Jeremias 31 e 32, foi garantida e selada pelo sangue de Jesus. A nova aliança se concretizou porque Jesus morreu para estabelecê-la.
E o que a nova aliança assegura para todos os que pertencem a Cristo? Perseverança na fé até o fim.
Ouça Jeremias 32.40:
“Farei com eles aliança eterna, segundo a qual não deixarei de lhes fazer o bem; e porei o meu temor no seu coração, para que nunca se apartem de mim”.
A aliança eterna — a nova aliança — inclui a promessa inquebrantável: “Porei o meu temor no seu coração, para que nunca se apartem de mim”. Eles não podem se apartar. Eles não se apartarão. Cristo selou esta aliança com o seu sangue. Ele comprou a sua perseverança.
Se você está perseverando na fé hoje, deve isso ao sangue de Jesus. O Espírito Santo, que está operando em você para preservar a sua fé, honra a conquista de Jesus. Deus Espírito opera em nós o que Deus Filho obteve para nós. O Pai planejou isso. Jesus o comprou. O Espírito o aplica — todos o fazem de modo infalível.
Deus está totalmente comprometido com a segurança eterna dos seus filhos comprados pelo sangue.
