to wind down a weekend. We'vegot a fund one for you viewers and
listeners, so, uh, sitdown, hang out with us. It's
gonna be fun. It's gonna bea blast. And speaking of blasts,
hey, you might be wondering, who the heck is our mystery guest.
Well, I believe it's time forOh hey, look it's our special guest,
(02:34):
Mark. Would you How the heckare you? Mark? It's good
to see you again. I'm doinggreat. It's good to see you too.
Gentlemen. Yeah, old times man, and right right where he left
off, like you never left. All right, Well, oh hey Rapping
is most here. Hey you wrapping. It's great to see you as well.
(02:55):
So it looks like we're also joinedby Hey Nigel as it's magazine in
the house. Wellel I think you'regoing to get a cool preview. We're
going to get to I don't knowfor scooping you or not, we'll see.
But before we get to that,we do have to talk about one
(03:16):
thing first of all, Mark,Yes, what's been going on in your
world? Tell us tell the audiencehow you've been, where you've been,
what you've been up to. Well, I have a four month year old
baby girl, Amelia, and solife is very just not alone. And
work has been really busy, lotsof coming through, working seven days a
(03:42):
week lately, but it's hopefully goingto come a little bit into the into
September. So I've got a fouror five eight for our in the shop
right now, sixty or seventy threebus I've taking some squirrels out of and
stuff like that. So it's reallyreally cool. Cars coming through mayb all
(04:05):
come through, some porsches and it'sa very blessed to have the t that
I do and yeah, it's it'sfun but ready to have I'm off.
I've got a coming up. I'mnot sure if you guys have posted anything
about that, you can tell usabout it. That's got something that I
(04:27):
created because we've always had it kindof down an area. There's lots of
meet up there dotson slast one butmostly and it's called uh, it's called
dot would be and it's gonna beit would be here where I'm at,
and there's gonna be probably some ofthe funds to forty Z's movies, some
(04:49):
GTRs three, our thirty first,so it's gonna be a real event.
And so we are in the processof just getting ready for that because that's
July twenty seven eighth, so that'scoming up real quick. And we're gonna
be collecting a bunch of die castcars for kids. So anybody that donates
(05:13):
gets a gets a spot in theraffle. It gets a ticket into a
raffle to win off some prizes fromour boy Felix at Turnback Works, and
gosh, I've got some other detailcompanies, Detailed Division, and there's some
other stuff that we're gonna be rafflingoff. So it's gonna be really cool.
So hopefully I'm shooting for man,I hope I at least get like
(05:34):
five hundred cars or something, maybethousand, sure, oh yeah, minimum,
yeah, yeah, So that thatwill be fun. Do you guys
know that's that's what we're all about, that's sure. I think what we're
all about on the show is givingback, whether it be to kids or
just to the communities that you're in. So mm hmm. Yeah. I've
(05:56):
been doing my best to grab afew cars here and there every time I'm
out pig hunting, and looking forwardto giving them to a few local charities
in my area. There's a domesticabuse shelter that I like to give cars
to. You you can give themto food banks, as you've mentioned,
children's hospitals, anywhere where there's kidsand they're kids that need a smile,
(06:17):
and one car equals one smile, and that is just a really really fun
way to enjoy the hobby and spreadthe love too. I mean, I
can't tell you how many times, well you know, one of Tracy's friends
when they come by and they seemy cars and they get a big grin
on their face and they want toplay with them, so I always have
cars for them to play with.So it's the same for all cars.
(06:39):
There's a die cast car for everyone, and they're a great toy. Doesn't
need any batteries, doesn't need anyflash or dazzle. Every kid knows immediately
how to play with them. It'sa awesome thing, universal, universal toy.
Absolutely, we all interact with carsin some way, and it's just
fun to watch them roll around.Whether it's a slice of cake or it's
(07:00):
a high dollar you know, tarmacworks or Liberty Walk F forty. It's
a wonderful thing. So that's theexciting stuff. That's the important thing.
Again, Folks, check out drivenDreams dot org and help us with this,
you know, really good cause I'mreally hoping we can. I believe
we can. I'm not hoping.I am confident we will get to twenty
(07:23):
four thousand cars. I'm twenty twentyfour and it's an awesome thing. So,
speaking of awesome things, I haveto ask you, David Mark,
you can chime into what's exciting youin the world of Diecast. Okay,
I'm gonna jump in. Mark first, give me some knuckles. Oh,
give me some knuckles. Welcome back, sir, let's let's let my co
(07:46):
host talk for a second. Goodgrief than he's wrong with me? Good
good to have you back. Andnow that we've gotten all the pleasantries aside,
we have got to get to business. This is serious stuff, folks.
We have got big news in theworld of die cast. How about
him too? Coming to target? They are coming back to target. Uh,
(08:07):
And I would like to point outI would like to give them props.
I would like to give them propsfor the eminem reference in their social
media. Well done to them. And that's all I've got this week because
we want to get to the mainissue at hand. Some mark, what
have you got to share? Well, we've got some. I mean these
(08:28):
are things that I can't read becausethey're Japanese, well at least the picture
that we've got. But we've gotsome new japan I learned for I don't
speak you know, It's it's easyfor you to say, it's just gone
Japan Park Culture premium series. Here, we've got the picture, we've got,
(08:50):
We've got some in Japanese. SoI'm gonna go ahead and try to
read this. Romachi chaitaki. Yes, that's it. And I think that's
the Japan historics four said if youlook in the bottom left hand believe that's
pretty cool. Yeah, I believeit's four. We've got the cars that
I can just spot right from seeing. You've got like a thing. You've
(09:13):
got a Z there, eight zz X. There, we got an
old Honda. Who've got three?Yeah, we go Silika, I believe.
And then gosh, I don't knowwhat that is the Skyline Sedan,
Skyline Sedan. That's excited about thatone. And it's going to be the
Chase car. That is going tobe a hot Yeah, black Chase car
(09:37):
too, So that's yeah, I'mexcited for that, and keep your eye
out for those might have to snagup that z for sure, without a
doubt, Absolutely, I'm excited aboutthat Todan. Anytime we get a four
door in hot wheels, it's ait's a rare and exciting thing. Uh.
Speaking of rare and exciting, howmany of you watched Antiques Roadshow recently
and saw that uh nineteen sixteen ninebeach bomb that I'm sure had Bruce Pasqual's
(10:03):
ears burning. Somebody showed up oneof these and was valued at one and
fifty thousand dollars, So I guessthat makes his even more value. Is
that not his? That's that's notthe pink, that's not the pink.
And it's kind of like, isthat Roupier or Red? I can't tell.
I think it's red, So sothat was pretty cool. Amy Boylin
(10:28):
made a very interesting post on greenLights Instagram that was quite long, talking
about new stuff that's coming there, including a club membership club that they are
going to have and they are goingto make sure that they have cars for
everyone, which is an interesting boast. They wanted to make sure that this
was a little different for the RedLine Club and the quantity matches the membership.
(10:50):
So I think that's pretty cool.I mean, I understand it took
me a while to figure out whythe quantity issue with hot wheels and Mike's
are not. Helps set me straighton that. We'll talk about that some
other time. More hot wheels stuffcoming out. We got, you know,
more JDM, a little bit ofCorvette action there for David in these
(11:13):
two packs looking forward to this ninetyfour Nissan Primira. That one's a pretty
cool one. That's cool again, another four door in the mix. The
folks over at Mini Garage one sixtyfour did a camera crew, which I
think is fun because my background istelevision, so it was really cool to
see that sort of thing represented aswell. And let's see else do I
(11:39):
have. I think that's it fornow. We want to do our small
channel shout out. I hope thisis it there. It is Crossroad die
Cast speed Shop. It's got onlya little under five hundred subscribers. So
when you get a minute and you'renot watching this video, you can hit
the link in the description and gogive them a few subscribes. Again,
(12:00):
make sure you're checking out driven Dreamsdot org and getting your collections in.
And we are still looking for contributors. Pia is our kind of silent contributing
partner right now. He's been doingIf you see a community post, it

and you know, we're going totake a quick break. But when we
come back, we've got a reallycool thing that is happening with Diecast Media
Network and Diecast Breakdown in the formof these new die casts from MGA called
(13:09):
Cartooned. So you may have heardabout them. You may have seen some
posts on their Instagram or seen themat Diecast super Con or on Lewis Tanajara's
social media. He's been sharing alot of sneak peaks on those and they
are really really cool. So youknow, they're definitely causing a stir.
I'm already seeing some controversy in thecomments, so we'll have a really good
(13:33):
discussion about that. But we'll dothat when we come back. Right after
this. Stick around back with moredie Cast Breakdown after this word from our

Wow, we are getting lots ofcomments. Hey, where do you
go? There? He is?Welcome back? Where'd you go? Oh?
I streamed it to my page ofthere, so whoop? See okay,
(15:01):
well cool, well welcome people fromMars page. So alrighty well,
I am thrilled about this segment. We've been waiting on it for a long
time. We've been uh you know, chatting back and forth with Lewis and
the team from Cartoon for a littlewhile now, and uh, we're excited
we finally have in our hot littlehands, at least the two of us
(15:22):
do. Mars Marx is coming.I am assured we got boxes. I
know, I know. I'm sosorry that we are going to Yep.
So we got our boxes here,David and I. They're autographed by Big
Lou himself. Finds as Big Louwas here and uh, Big Be approved
(15:46):
some really cool stickers. Chuck.Let's let's make sure everybody knows a little
bit about Lewis, because we're nottalking about We're not talking about somebody new
to the industry. No. Infact, I'm sure that Jada, his
fanboy, is definitely aware of whoLewis is. So for those who don't
know, Lewis Nahara was a designerat Hot Wheels for a little bit.
(16:10):
He got to start kind of inthe you know, southern California hot ride
lowrider scene, and he's worked witha whole bunch of amazing people and courting,
you know, Chip Foose and BoydCoddington, and he worked at Hot
Wheels. He did some if youever saw Big Lou on the side of
the dairy delivery, that was oneof his designs. And he went over
(16:33):
to Jada and did a little projectyou might have heard of called dub City
that really kind of changed the gamewhen it came to putting different types of
car culture in the hands of kidsand collectors. You know, the city
was just it was a force ofnature in the late nineties, early two
thousands, and you know, Istill have quite a few of those in
(16:53):
my collection and I'm not even alowrider guy. I just thought they were
really cool. So, you know, first round of inductees into the die
Cast Hall of Fame in two thousandand nine, Lewis was one of them.
So he's legendary designer, really coolguy. He's been really helpful with
(17:15):
the show. He's gotten us severalguests, including Eddie Castro and just really
you know, all around good dudeand really appreciates the show and we're grateful
to him for that. But heand the guys over at at Cartoon to
sent us a package and he diddrum my attention to I think it's really
cool. He's kind of taken thisstyle and kind of even the packaging has
(17:40):
big lowsuch on it. You cansee here he actually he did this little
design with this custom carrier here.I think that's really cool. Let me
know in the comments what you thinkabout this one, because he was kind
of curious and I am too ifyou'd be something like that as well along
with these cars. So you know, let's see, So we got the
(18:03):
premiere of Oh, another big thingI forgot to mention about Lewis Tanahara.
You might also recognize this his kindof masterpiece that was done a few years
back, the sledster. It's thisbeautiful art deco lowrider forty nine merc styled
hauler. Actually turning around to thisone, this is what is actually inside
(18:27):
here I have. I just crackedthis one today and I just so I
could open the box and I'm goingto pull this thing out and hopefully not
fling it across the room. Allright, there we go. So look
at that. So look at it, sir, Look at it, sir.
And this one was you know, lots of flames on it. That
(18:48):
that flame style is very specific toLewis, and we may see more of
it as we continue to get tothe boxes, into our boxes. Yep,
yeah, look at that. Areyou ready ready, David, I'm
ready. Let's get into it.Guys. I want you, I want
you to take everything in because aftertalking with Lewis, what we've learned,
(19:14):
no detail has been overlooked. Iam talking from the outside box, to
the inner boxes, to the cardart, to the cars themselves. Everything
was intentional and it is representative ofhis work and the pride he puts in
his work. I'm really excited toshow these to you because I've seen them
(19:34):
in the past h picks and media. But when you when you look at
them and you hold them, they'rea different level. And I'll see that.
Yeah, I'll save, I'll saveuh, I'll save my my big
review, overall review for the end. But I just want that to be
(19:56):
kind of out there at the beginning. Keep keep your eye out for d
Tails. All right, hey,Chuck, how do you how do we
want to do this? Do wewant to count to three year? Let's
show Okay, so in the boxitself, the big box that Chuck had,
there's an inner box and not everybodywill get to see these, because
this is what will get unpacked atthe store by staff. And I was
(20:21):
talking to Lewis and he knew that. He knew that not everybody's ever going
to get to see these, butstill there's the detail of having like a
little cool diorama. Uh, andthis is what there's a custom shop in
m g Ah that I think that'sgonna be really popular. I think those
are gonna be highly sought after.Yeah. I would probably fight somebody for
(20:42):
that box, right, And that'sagain that just speaks to who Lewis is,
like. He loves details and heloves carry over, which you're gonna
see. Uh, there's a reasonI got my sledster out for this one,
and you're gonna you're gonna see whyin it. But you know,
so, how about the very firstone I grabbed out of the cartoon box
(21:06):
is a Corvette? That's perfect. We didn't plan that. So this is
a sixty three Chevy Corvette. Theseare stylized die cast, but they're not
like the ones from other brands thatare mass produced out there. I promise
you that I'm going to say thisguys, when you see this, immediately
you may think that doesn't look likewhat is in David's collection. He likes
(21:30):
a lot of nearly photo realistic, super high end premium stuff. But I've
really come around on the quality andthe attention to detail. There's a weightiness
to these, there's a heft tothem. And we'll get into more.
We'll get into more of the detail. But here's your card arc guys.
(21:51):
You've got Lewis's artwork all over this. You have got do we want to
start talking about the cars themself, guys, or metal body, metal base?
Yeah, this is show me moreof those cars, though, David
them out all right, let's let'slook at him, Chuck, I'm gonna
do. I'm gonna yeah. Wellwe'll just let's just alternate. Well alternate.
(22:15):
Here we go. So I'm holdingthe This is kind of the signature
car from the series. This isthe big time hustler. This is a
fifty seven Chevy bel area. You'regonna notice that all these cars are Chevyes
and that is a licensing thing thatuh there's uh, you know, Chevy.
I guess General Motors is a littleeasier to work with and out of
(22:37):
the gate, you know, it'sreally expensive to license cars, So don't
get downhearted if you don't see yourparticular brand of car here. This is
just the first series. They havemore licensing coming and again, you know
important thing for collectors like David andI, who you know, prefer our
cars to be properly licensed. Butthis one is very cool. This is
(22:59):
the big time hustler. As Isaid, it's got a matte paint job
with a beautiful green flames on theside. There is a chase version of
this one that is orange with greenflames, and we'll talk about the chases
more in a little bit. Letme let me correct myself because I did
over I did misspeak. The basesare plastic. Yeah, yeah, I
(23:22):
was gonna say, I'm not surethat they're metal. No, but there
is a there is a weight tothem. Check out the K five Blazer.
Super super cool actually, And onething I told lewis one time,
guys, these have a metal flakepaint job. He went really over and
above what he had to give uson a vehicle like this. The paint
(23:45):
is a lot better than you thinkit is at first glance. It's uh,
everything is is just really well done. And I want to mention to
you customizers out there. These areheld together by screws, so they are
very easy to do wheel swaps,to do customizing. You know, he
(24:07):
just thought of everything. What's thenext one you got, Chuck? All
right, well I have got theuh oh, Pete's gonna like this one
sixty nine Chevy Camaro and I lovethe proportion on these. Look at it,
sir, Look at that. Lookat that sherry red. Nothing's nice.
Nothing that that is the paint.Look at the shine on that paint.
(24:30):
There looks like Mark detailed it.It's yeah expected that. Yeah,
so you're going to notice. Ithink there's there's like pro street style cars,
and there's lowrider style cars, andthere's muscle cars. This one's part
of the muscle cars. So yousee it's his muscle cars. Yeah,
on the streets side. Yeah. So, uh, there's there's a lot
to these packages. There's you know, again the details that H. Lewis
(24:55):
likes to do. So you're goingto see on these there's series one.
Uh. These are green tabs uptop with blue lettering. These are the
ones that you're going to be findingin your targets. It's going to be
in Target and Walmart, likely tobe in Target first. They're they're saying
these will be here maybe third fourthweek of July. It's kind of in
(25:17):
flux. This is a major globaltoy company and major international you know,
distributors, So things are a littlelittle in flux, and some stores are
going to get them before others, but you know, be sure to keep
an eye out. There's going tobe more posting about it. Cartoons Official
on Instagram is a great place tofollow for that. So it looks like
(25:37):
David's got something else for us.Yeah, well we had we had to
have it, all right. Yeah, so this is this is super cool.
And check out the wheels. Somebodyasked, are these plastic wheels?
Nope, you're getting rubber tires. You're getting high end wheels. We had
a commenter post that you can maybeswap them out with previous Jada stuff.
(26:00):
I if somebody knows that, Idon't know that right here and now,
to be I can't speak to that. I can't confirm it, but it
would make sense. I think I'veheard that in the past. But I'm
saying rubber tires because again, didn'thave to have rubber tires. These are
really cool and the tires have treadson them. Just really cool. Yeah,
(26:23):
and again, these these wheels andtires, they will you know,
they're on a standard axle. Youcould put them on other cars if you
wanted. You could swap in customsfrom your own collection if you wanted to
add your own wheels. I believesome of them, the low riders,
have adjustable suspension on them, whichis very cool. I need to dig
(26:47):
a little deeper to confirm that, but I'm pretty sure that some of them
are are tweakable as far as rideheight. I've got my sixty four and
pallet as well. I'm going toskip that one because David already got to
it. But this one, thisone I'm really excited about. Now.
This is the fifty six Chevy Nomad. I love me a good station wagon.
And the detail work on this one. You got that sugar skull on
(27:10):
there. You got some really coolgold work on this. And you know,
as David said, these are allheld on with Philip said screws.
They are designed to be customized. You know. Lewis wants people to you
know, take them, modify them, swap the wheels out, make it
easy for us US builders out thereto tweak these around. I did see
(27:32):
a question from Lolo Gracias. Isthis going to be considered a chase piece?
No, actually, we have notgotten to the chase pieces yet.
So the production numbers that I've beentold are that there's going to be two
hundred thousand cars made in Series onetotal, So already we're talking a significantly
more limited number than you know, your typical big brand. But the chase
(27:56):
pieces, there's only going to befour hundred chase pieces through the whole Series
one, and that's you know,so there's there's twenty five thousand of each
car being made. There's eight carsin the series, so that's two hundred
thousand cars, and out of those, four hundred of them will be chases.
I asked Lewis if we had anychases in here. I don't know
(28:17):
if we do yet. I haven't. I haven't looked that far. We
got a ton of information on thisthat we're gonna We're gonna try and get
through it all, and you know, this is our eericient way. So
yeah, this is our first look. We have never seen these before.
I know that he sent us somepre production and some production stuff. I
know that everything in the Blister packthat we're showing you is production. This
is exactly how it will look whenit hits the shelf. Now, is
(28:41):
that your lucy there, David?Yeah, I wanted to show you guys.
I mean, these aren't just goodlooking. They do roll. They
roll really well. And there Ilove the stance. I mean it is
just absolutely slammed and but it rollsperfectly. So just again, attention to
detail. While I got you here, Let's look at this fleet line because
(29:02):
this one's cool. I love thatone. Let me get this out of
the glare. There we go.How about that, guys. We've got
the whole range. Yeah, wegot forties up to current stuff, and
we've got a ton of new stuffin the works from what we hear from
Lewis. Once the licenses start gettingnailed down, we're going to see just
(29:25):
an incredible variety of models. Butwhat a debut. These things kind of
made a huge splash at dikast superCon and it is so cool to see
these in person. All right,Chuck, you got one more. I
got a few more too. Igot a couple more. Let's take a
look at this For the square bodyfans out here, Now, this is
(29:47):
what I'm talking about here. Soyou see this beautiful blue paint with this
flame job that might look a littlefamiliar to you, and that is because
it is the same flame job,uh Lewis's kind of signature flame job and
similar blue. So this is aunofficial companion piece to this particular slidster if
(30:11):
you happen to be so fortunate asto have picked one of those up.
But this is the one I knowa lot of people are excited about.
People love the square body Chevys andthis is a adorable example. I love
it. It's you know, thesethese cars are just you know, they're
cartoony in all the right ways.I think, you know, just at
(30:32):
work on a lot of different levels, don't they They do they do they?
And it's funny because I was showingthis, Uh, I was showing
pictures of someone a friend of minewho's not a car person at all,
and she was just like, thoseare really cute. I could see those
being on my desk and uh,you know, she's not even a car
person, and she was like,I could see you decorate, you know,
having a few of those around.Just you know, they're they're a
(30:55):
great gift idea. I think becausethey're you know, anyone who you know,
whether they're not exactly. So yeah, there was a question here about
distribution. Uh so really quick.Uh, they are going to be in
Walmart and Target first. There isa Walgreens run that's coming. There is
a hobby Alt version that's coming. We'll talk more about those later. But
(31:18):
the Walgreens version's interesting. It's goingto have a smaller packaging because of the
play anagrams, the way that theylay out the stores and Walgreens they need
to have smaller packaging. So Lewisand his team to counter having to have
a smaller package that those will havefoil on them, foil on the packaging,
so they'll have that really nice reflectivemetallic look. So they're gonna look,
(31:40):
those are gonna look really good hangingon your wall because they've got that
nice reflectivity to them. And uh, oh got here. I wish we
could. I want to try tofind some way to really show off this
paint, guys, because it's uh, it's remarkable. All the gold chrome
you get white walls, gold rims. All right, I can't do it
(32:08):
justice. We're going to get someclean picks, but this is a black
metal flake paint. That is uhit sparkles man, Let's just be deep.
It's yeah, it's high. It'sjust high quality stuff. Mm hmmm.
We got one more? Yes,what you got more? Scale of
one to ten? How weighty isit? That's what I need to know.
(32:28):
The heft okay, for real, gut, for for real, for
something this size, there can't besomething. There can't be a comparable vehicle
that is heftier. To answer yourquestion, mark, now, they do
have a good weight to them inthe package. I am somebody just pointing
out the Blazer a second. Hereis that sixty nine Chevy Blazer and it
(32:52):
is nice in so many ways, just a very cool uh. You know
the cars that they pick, beinglimited to Chevy, they picked some real
high notes here between the forty seven, the square body, you've got the
you know, the K five, the Camaro of course iconic cars. So
(33:14):
yeah, really cool stuff. Sothat's all. That's all the ones that
I have in mine that are packaged. We got some other mystery stuff.
He sent us some stickers. Theseare really cool. They've got a little
special QR code on them. SoI'm going to hold it up here.
Maybe you can scan it. Ifyou're watching and see where that takes you.
(33:34):
I want to I want to geta little feedback, and I want
to pass this along to Lewis.Guys. You know there's other companies doing
die Cast trading cards. These weresome really cool stickers, hologram stickers that
they gave out in Vegas at theDiecast super Con. And uh, we
would love to know if there's anyinterest in maybe accompanying your purchase with something
(33:59):
like that, just you know, just is there an interest out there.
I'd be curious and maybe we couldpass that along to MGA and tell them
that people are getting used to tradingcards with their Diecast cards and that's not
the worst road to go down.Who knows. Now somebody is asking us
about the price. I do nothave a firm grass on the price yet.
(34:22):
I know that they are going tobe around the five dollars range,
a little less than five dollars someof them. It just depends on where
they are. I imagine the onesin the hobby stories are going to be
a little more expensive just because ofthe need for those folks to you know,
make some money. Wow, giveus lots of stickers, So you
have to We'll be sure to passthose out to some viewers when we're ninety
(34:46):
nine confirmed for ninety nine or ninetynine okay for singles, confirmed for singles.
That's that's the other thing too.We should probably you know, pull
up. There is a whole posterthat he uh he sent us and uh
these are some some excerpts from theposter. Uh. So these are the
(35:08):
chase cars. They're each series.Uh, this is the mainline series has
a unique chase. So this isthe big time hustler over here. You
got your orange one with the greenpaint. These are called red bottoms.
So that's what that RB stands for, and that is taken off of a
certain very popular shoe brand that's usedby a lot of trendy and influential folks
(35:34):
to kind of signify that things arejust a step above where they usually are.
So these are our red bottoms toyou know, kind of follow in
that lead. And they will havered undersides and red wheels, uh,
to kind of highlight their their value. So these are the ones that will
be up. Yep, David,I know I know that you know that
that's also a Cardi B reference aswell. I know that you know that,
(36:00):
but and it's okay, of courseyou know chere's Cardi fan. So
all right, so that is yeah, I don't know, Please forgive me
in the comments if if I'm doinganything untoward, but hobby alt this is
going to be the ones that thesewill be at your your hobby shops,
(36:20):
your independence stores, House of Carsis probably uh well, House of Cars
is definitely going to be carrying these, but these will be the ones you'll
likely see in places like that. They're going to be in Macy's and Toys
r Us which I didn't even knowstill exists, but they they do,
and they'll be there. And Amazonas well is going to be carrying these.
So this is uh, this isthe version of that distribution. We
(36:44):
got a red bottom chase car herein the K five Blazer. It's very
cool. It's got a kind ofmagenta not magenta maroon bait job with the
red bass and just very cool.Uh, take on that series again.
Here's the ones from Walmart and Targetand these are gonna be the ones in
(37:05):
the hobby shops. So all right, that's the We'll take a break from
the poster and what else do yougot? So it's not just singles.
We're also going to have a doublesand a three pack. The two packs
are going to run you nine ninetynine. The three packs are going to
be fourteen ninety nine. This particularone, I'm gonna put it there on
cameras just to give you an idea. Another detail that Lewis has done is
(37:30):
as you flip this thing over, you've got a little bit of a display
in case you want to display yourcards on a shel if you're reat okay,
thanks of everything, every single thinghas been thought about. Here is
the back of the card C tenCamaro And look at this camaro Pete from
(37:52):
Old Man Die Cast. This isa Matt Gray kind of a primer girl.
I love that with the flames.I love how the flames Chuck and
Mark are a thread throughout Lewis's career. And how cool to have that legacy
where you see those flames, youthink Tanahara, like, I bet Lewis
did this. And guys, wecan't overestimate enough. Lewis is one of
(38:15):
the OG's in our community and hasbeen doing this so long, and shout
out to him for still putting forththe effort to give us stuff like this.
You know, he could he couldprobably be sitting on an island smoking
a cigar right now, but he'sstill cranking out really really cool stuff at
the top of uh at, youknow, at the top of his game,
(38:39):
at the top of his among hispeers. Twenty five years in the
game. So this is what youget. Very cool. I'm going to
open one of the pre productions now. It's got a little special MGA special
wrapping on it to show that itis a sample submission. So I'm going
to hold that up here so youcan see. This is what the sample
(39:01):
submission looks like. And notice thename on there. Chuck Lewis told me
that the other name on there ishis design colleague that has algae Algaie.
And if you notice on our boxesit has big Lou approved, but it
also has big B and that's bigB Algae LOGI. Yeah nice. So
(39:27):
yeah, So there it's a plasticbase but held in by screws, you
know, really nice. I shouldget a brighter light on these. But
you got some tread on the tiresthere. Let me just smile. Yeah,
there you go, bringing it rightup. So no lensed headlamps or
tail lamps. But again we're talkingat four to ninety nine price point and
(39:47):
you're getting this incredible paint for theprice. Now they they you will notice
that the windows are all blacked out. That was again a choice that was
made to allow them to really focuson knockout paint, which I think was
a good move to keep the pricedown and have this so you know,
(40:07):
it's possible that there will be futureones that have interiors or more premium ones.
I don't know. You guys aregonna have to buy a lot of
them, and I think you willto make sure that they make more of
these. And this is just thisis too cool. This one is absolutely
going to be going on my sledsterat the end of the show. So,
David, what else you got?I got the stickers, I got
(40:29):
the samples. I think I gotthe same thing. So I don't have
anything that you haven't seen or thatyou've got, Chuck, I've got a
two pack here in the stickers. So we've hit it. We've told you
our thoughts on it. So let'slet's do this before we start giving away
(40:50):
some cars. Mark, what areyour first impressions when you see them on
camera without holding them? Well,I'm gonna take your award for it,
David. That they're weighty. That'sone of my favorite things is cars with
some weight, some have to it. You know, if you win a
trophy in a car show and it'ssuper light, then you just throw the
trash. It's got to have someweight to it. You gotta have weight
(41:10):
to it. They're beautiful little cars. The first thing that comes to mind
when I see those things, andwhen I first saw them, is that
they are like they're an incredible toyfor a kid, and they're an incredible
toy for an adult. And thethe just like you know, for kids
to like actually learn how to takethem apart and swap the bases and then
(41:31):
have the little you know, thelittle card to make their little garage and
stuff like that. That's really goodthings for kids, and they're you know,
motor skills to learn that kind ofstuff and to play with that stuff.
And then for adults. I've alwaysloved muscle machines. I've always loved
like the tuned kind of cars, the artwork that that just has that kind
(41:53):
of tuned look. So for me, I could easily put those up on
the wall and display them, andyou know, keep the cards, cut
the cards out, make the cardsinto a table or something. So there's
it's just really cool stuff, allthose little tiny things that Lewis did with
all the little details. It isreally an important thing to me when it
(42:13):
comes to like thoughtfulness and really caringabout what you're putting out and not having
some huge production team of sixteen twentydifferent people saying this is how we do
it. You can see that theygave him, you know, the reins
to do whatever he wanted to do, because he's this isn't his first rodeo,
and he really, you know, had free reign on what he wanted
(42:35):
to do. And we see that. So I'm excited. I can't wait
to get some for my little girlto have her play. You know,
those are probably gonna be her firsttoys, to be honest with you,
she hasn't gotten any car toys yet. So cartooned. Yeah, Old Vandykast
has a good question, how dothese compare to muscle machines. Packaging is
(42:55):
a lot like them, so Iwould say that they are not really the
same thing at all. You know, the muscle machines are very much focused
on giant blown out engines, andlooking more like an ed Roth you know,
painting or illustration. These ones aredefinitely more on the you know,
more stylized cartoonish side obviously, butyou know, quality wise, you know,
(43:22):
these would punch there, uh,punch that weight class very easily.
Like there, there's you know, the paint again like this, you know,
really doesn't do it justice. Thisisn't just yellow, it's it's metal
flake yellow and just very very cool. So I think I think for the
price point, these are fantastic.I mean, we got multi color wheels
(43:44):
here. You got chrome and somematt charcoal on the wheels just for the
wheels alone. In the price point. If you want to that's true,
you couldn't, you know, anddon't don't don't overshadow it like this Camaro
here had the big old drag slickson the back. Act like, it's
not just the other one. Idon't think. I don't think the other
(44:05):
one had the same tires on it. Oh let's see, No it didn't,
So you're getting a different wheel setwith white lettering on it. I
wanted to confirm a couple of things. Mark forty two gs are higher was
the requirement from Lewis he wanted themheavy for the way. Yeah, I
remember, and we are getting Whenhe asked me, I was like,
(44:29):
you need to make that at leastTarget should be the first to market in
about two and a half to threeweeks. That is what we are getting
from Lewis, So that's when wecan start to expect him. Did you
did you dig into your look atthis guy's a pre production slug here,
(44:50):
autographed by Baljit and by Big Louhimself. Yeah, what did you get?
I've got the Blazer, I gotthe fifty seven Chevy. I got
the big time hustler over here.So uh, that is super duper cool.
That is a new new star piecein my collection. That is incredible.
I've never had it. This isactually my first. I don't think
(45:10):
I've owned any prototypes yeah before this, although no, I did get I
have one prototype from green Light formy friend Ben consulted on their Dodge Swift
Line trucks and he got some preproduction cars. But I've never had anything
like that, not an unspun thing. I mean this still has the you
(45:30):
know, the slugs on the backfrom where the casting was that these would
be normally broken off. I'm goingto be very careful not to break those
off. But yeah, that isincredible and so cool of MGA and Lewis
to think of us for this. He's been a huge supporter of the show.
As I mentioned, you know,he really believes in what we're doing
(45:52):
and that has really been a nicepat on the back for all of us.
And he's been, you know, very kind and talk to all of
us. I'm sure he's. Yeah, he calls us up and you know,
calls me up in the evening sometimeswhen we just chat about stuff.
Really cool guy and if you everget a chance to meet him at a
(46:12):
show, absolutely talk to him.He is super nice, has a ton
of great stories. He he is, you know, named the car culture
person. He has probably met themor interacted with them in some way,
and you know it has a lotof great stories. He was just doing
a lowrider show in at the Petersonand just super duper cool. Snoop Dogg
(46:39):
has one of his sledsters in hiscollection. I think that's very cool.
I was gonna show you this isah I've got the blue sixty nine camaro
here from this series. This isthe so uh, this is the all?
Is this the alt series? Blueand yellow. I believe so.
(47:00):
But it looks like it got knockedout of its packaging. That's going to
be very unusual for them. Ishow just to show the paint that you
know, again, these are earlythings. Now now here you go.
Here's another one. This is thesixty nine Camaro in yellow with black stripes.
That's very cool. These are preproduction releases, and well these are
(47:22):
these are production releases, but they'rethey're very This is exactly what would be
on the shelf. But these areagain like first first run stuff. So
gotcha. Okay, yeah, wellI know, and I wanted to comment
because each one of these does havea special mold of plastic on the inside
so that they stay centered. Againanother detail he thought of, stay centered,
(47:44):
U don't get banged around during shipping, and that's by design as well.
A good question from automotive history throughdiecast. Do you think this is
why Hot Wheels is making more tunecars? I think that I think they
will. I don't think I thinkthat the tuned cars are kind of you
know, Ah, there's something thathas been that the market has been hungry
(48:07):
for for a while, and Ithink they were listening, just like Lewis
was listening, and I'm sure thatthey they had this, they were aware
this was coming. But you know, these are these are nothing. I
would not compare these to the themainline wheels tuned cars because these are these
are just so much a cut aboveas far as quality goes, and you
(48:31):
know, really exciting to see thesein person. The uh, I think
I think it's I think it's justkind of a trend. I recall there
was a Facebook game called Cartown fora while that a lot of people played,
and they had a not not dissimilarstyle. I mean, these are
these are a little more refined Ithink than those those were. But uh,
(48:55):
just really cool to to see this, this kind of opportunity for new
stuff. You know, I've reallykind of steered more towards realism and premier
stuff, mostly because David is abad influence on getting me to part from
my money for premium die casts. But you know, I absolutely see the
value in these as well, justbecause they're really fun. They're different,
(49:19):
and if you've got playsets that youlike to display, these would be right
at home in them because those areusually more like I'm thinking, like the
Matchbox City type things, like, park this in front of your your pizza
hut and it looks right at homebecause that's got kind of a cartoony,
stylized look to it and just veryyou said the seven to eleven, that
(49:39):
one's a very fun one as well. Yeah, So so for sure they're
going to have a home in mycollection. Guys like I just recognize the
quality and that's what I like. And when you see something really well done,
you know, if that's what youlike, that's what you like,
and that's what I like. Andto going back to our other point,
(50:00):
I mean, there's eighteen other differenttypes of collector slash consumer that are going
to be attracted to this. Soyeah, that's the Yeah, hit a
home run with this one. Yeah. And that's something that he really wanted
to have with these is he wantedthem to be kind of cross cultural,
(50:20):
so they would be something that adiecast collector would like, or a lowrider
person would like, or somebody wholikes a particular style of artwork or a
particular esthetic. There's a huge varietyof aesthetics here. I can see a
huge potential for other brand partnerships andcrossovers. And again, it's cool that
(50:42):
they're doing it. It's cool thatthe folks over at GM are all right
with them doing is stylized versions oftheir cars. I know car car companies
can be notoriously sticklers when it comesto their vehicles being represented, so I'm
sure that was no easy task gettingapprovals on these. And I can't wait
to see what the other ones inthe future series are because you know,
(51:07):
I am still a Dodge guy,and I do look forward to seeing some
Chargers and uh, some other Challengersand maybe a Valiant. I don't know,
Lewis hint hint coming our way.But yeah, it's uh, it's
really really cool. So I've gota few other ones. I'm just looking
(51:30):
to make sure we haven't gone overany missing while while Chuck is looking,
I just want to note the exactcare on the back of your card is
what you're gonna get. It's notlike one picture, uh you know that's
you got the blue seat ten. That's exactly what's on the back here.
So you know, like every everyset is kind of like its own specific
(51:53):
project when it comes to each eachrelease. Yeah, built Tony said is
almost keychain size. You could actuallythese would be great pocket cars because of
the size that they are. Theyare significantly smaller than a muscle machine,
and I don't think that's a badthing. I actually kind of like that.
(52:15):
They're a little on the smaller side. They're they're technically one sixty four
scale. I think that's more justthe width of them is. They're they're
about the same width of your standardone sixty four scale. But I could
absolutely see, you know, findinga way to put a keychain loop on
it. I mean, I hateto scratch up to eight jobs on it,
but you know, somebody's going todo it, and uh yeah,
that's a really really fun thing.Well, guys, what do you what
(52:39):
do you? Uh? What dowe say? We celebrate this big episode.
We've got some I got some cleaningout I had to do in the
Diecast Media Network prize closet, andI'm curious if any of the viewers that
have hung around this long would liketo get some free die Cast And we're
not talking about mainlines, We're nottalking about premiums. We got some kind
(53:00):
of exclusive stuff. So I'm readyto give away some cars, how about
you guys? All right, Well, before we do that again, I
want to get some comments here.Yep, because I always asked again.
You know, now you've seen allthose think about this, this little truck
here, this box truck that ison the packaging. Let us know in
(53:22):
the comments if that's something that youthink they should make. Lou is watching,
so hey, and you guys thatare you guys that are racers.
These fit existing track systems. Wehave gotten that confirmation as well. So
if you want to race them downthe track, there's another market. Mm
(53:44):
hmm. All right, well we'regoing to take one more quick break and
when we come back, we aregoing to give away some cars. So
again shout out to the folks atMGA and Cartooned. Was this sponsored sort
of? Yes, they sent ussome free stuff. You're going to see
some more stuff from them that isactually sponsored. But this is just us
(54:05):
kind of you know, kicking offthat this is what's coming and they were
super kind to send all this stuffour way. There's too much to share
here. There's going to be moreshorts on these and stuff in the future,
so make sure that you are subscribedand hit the notification bell so you
can see when we've got that stuffcoming up. But we're going to take
a quick break and when we comeback, David's gonna make Mark and I
(54:29):
look like fools in the diecast world. So stick around, don't touch the
dial. Die Cast Breakdown will beright back after these messages. Die Cast
Breakdown is produced in partnership with twicedie Cast and Driven Dreams. Or go
on YouTube, check out their channelsin the video description, and subscribe for
(54:50):

is Derek from Honest Deck here.Hey, this is Chad written from Rown
two. This is Mike from Guesslas, the srt JO Vita Show and DJ
Kiss. If you're watching die CastBreakdown and now the thrilling conclusion of this
(55:12):
week's episode of die Cast Breakdown. All right, Well we're running long today
and it's worth it. Shout outto the fifty two people that are with
us live right now. That isreally awesome. Again, thank you to
everyone who's been sharing and talking aboutthe show. But you know you've hung
around this long. I think it'sworth sticking around a little longer because we've
(55:36):
got some cool stuff to give awayand I'm eager to see how David's going
to do this. All right,so you guys know that we talked about
cartoon debuting at the House of Carsdie Cast super Con this past April,
I believe. So we're going tostart with some House of Cars exclusive vehicles.
(56:02):
So I have got three that areso exclusive from AutoWorld. They're all
three gonna be AutoWorld. First oneis gonna be this really amazing Muldowney Nuclear
Minds collaboration. It is a Chevvysquare body truck in pink. And here's
(56:25):
the rules. I'm gonna ask Markand Chuck a really easy question they should
know and if they if they don'tget it, somebody, a random person
is gonna win. Somebody in thecomments is gonna win this vehicle. All
right, Later, I'm gonna giveaway some bigfoots. So, Chuck,
Mark, what year is the pickuptruck that was the first Bigfoot truck,
(56:52):
first Bigfoot monster truck? What yearmodel is that? Remember? If you
miss it, we're giving away cars. Look like people are going to be
getting some cars today. I wantto say, I want to say nineteen
seventy four, Mark, what doyou think? I want to say nineteen
eighty Okay, so it's in nineteenseventy four and Chuck, I'm going to
(57:15):
declare your answer, Nolan Void, and we're going to give away the car
anyway. So here's what we're goingto do, guys. I think we're
just going to We're gonna have topick a comment somehow. We might go
back and and do it a commentgenerator, or I'm going to do a
gift too here in a second. So okay, yeah, So so if
(57:37):
you're watching us live, go overand leave a comment in the comment section
and jump back on the live chathere. So make sure that we'll pick
a random comment for that that prizethere. So so let me just again
one more time. This is theSquare Body. This is a Nuclear Minds
collab with House of Cars. Thesewere available at Diecast super Con. Your
(58:00):
Minds guys, if you can getyour hands on some of their stuff,
Lee Allen and his wife do amazingcustoms. If you don't know who they
are, you need to know. All right, you can't leave a comment
right now, so okay, Ithink you can. You can toggle back
and forth, maybe, Rico, you should be able to go back and
forth. You can on your phone. I know you can on your phone,
so uh, you know, makesure that you find a way to
(58:22):
hop over there. Oh, Isee Driven Dreams just gifted a membership.
There you go, all right,so let's let's let's keep on the Bigfoot
theme here. Yeah. So ifyou can't, if you can't comment,
folks, you know, just comeback and leave a comment after here,
and just leave with and leave thecomment of which one you want to win?
(58:45):
And Williams Scott membership? All right, congrats, and a car and
the car nice and the car.All right, we got stuff flying out
of the prize closet, all right, Mark Chuck. In nineteen, big
Foot two and three both stopped competingand they were repurposed, but they were
(59:07):
also renamed under a different name. They weren't Bigfoot. What were they big
toe? That's close. It's veryclose. M it's too early for snake
bite. So I'm oh, whatwas it called? No, it wasn't
(59:30):
that one. It wasn't wildfoot,Chuck. If you get this like you're
you're scaring me, I need youto calm down. It's not miss Bigfoot
because that was a ranger or theyou've run out of time, Safari foot
Safari renamed Bigfoot, So Jim,so we've got we're giving away two cars
(59:54):
so far. I'm just gonna makea note of that. All right,
House of Cars is doing cool stuffwith these conventions and these collaborations, Chuck
Mark. How many current House ofCar stores are listed on their website as
being open right now? Seven twelve? I'm about to reach through this computer,
(01:00:21):
Chuck. The correct answer is seven, but your answer doesn't count again,
and we're gonna give that day.I was just throwing a number out
there too. Did somebody feed youthe questions? How this kind of feels
like debate gate again? Here? All right? All right, so we
have got that vehicle? Was thisreally cool? Uh? Square body?
(01:00:44):
Again as well? Look at thecustom wheels on that. This is a
celebrity custom. This was from Diecastsuper Con twenty twenty two. Just really
a unique piece to have in yourcollection. Please please don't crack it.
That card art is amazing. Allright. I'm gonna give away a couple
of bigfoots that I found. Theseare surplus goodies exclusives. First one is
(01:01:07):
gonna be a twenty nineteen Ford fthree fifty. It's a duly from green
Light and it's a pretty sharp vehicle. Uh, Chuck Mark? Who won?
Let me go back. That vehiclethat we looked at just a second
ago is an eighty three. Sowho won the eighty three English Football Championship
(01:01:31):
in soccer over there? Since Iknow you guys are big cultured soccer fans
from around the world. Wow,okay, no idea good arsenal, I
don't know. That's close. It'sclose. It's Liverpool. So that means
we're giving away the Bigfoot duly.In fact, I'm gonna give away the
(01:01:52):
dirty version as well to go alongwith it. And again, these are
surplus goodies exclusives that are done withcollaboration with that die cast retailer that we

doesn't stay on the car. ButI know how many of these were made?
So guys, how many of thesewere made? Twelve hundred and fifty
two thousand, all right, sixhundred, no threeenty twenty four. So
(01:02:42):
that means we're giving away guys missedall the questions were giving away all these
vehicles and that's fun to me.That's how I cleaned. All right.
Well, all right, so guys, you just have to go after this
this lie and leave a comment.I have I will pick. I'm just
(01:03:06):

(01:03:28):
We're wrapping things up, Mark,No, just playing on, you know,
easing my way back into being onthe show more consistently here in the
next couple of months. Things slowingdown a little bit at the shop,
things normalize a little bit with anew new baby girl, and have a
little bit more time on my hands. So I'm trying to be on some
(01:03:50):
of the lives here and then probablyjust normal episodes here in the near future.
I can't wait. We're so excitedto have you back and again people
are comment where So basically, assoon as this live is ended, go
to YouTube leave a comment in thevideo. We will give it a day
or two for you to leave acomment and then I'm let's say, you
(01:04:14):

So yeah, So let me letme preface this by saying this,
Chuck, you're gonna leave a comment, but when the video post, one
of us will go in and leavea pinned comment, so you see it
at the very top, it willsay it will have the email address that
(01:04:35):

to give away some cartooned we cando that. So I I don't know
how we can do that, andmaybe we do this on a separate video,
but I think so. Yeah,I think we're gonna get a give
away one or a full set ofcartoon in the very near future. Guys.
(01:06:03):
So yep, So make sure youhit that subscribe and notification because that's
all the Instagram. Yeah. Iwant to make sure we I want to
make sure we get some time toget some buzz going on that because these
are super cool. I don't wantto just throw them on at the end
of the video. You know,I think that these are absolutely something that
is worth its own separate thing.I am just tickled to death to have
(01:06:24):
these in my collection. And uh, you know, there's going to be
a lot more on this channel showingthese these new things off. They're just
super fun and just a really abreath of fresh air honestly in a a
in a hobby that was not staleat all. Like I've heard somebody,
(01:06:44):
somebody somewhere keep saying that there's neverbeen a better time to be in die
Cast, and uh, you know, I don't know it's the ravings of
some lunatic somewhere, but but yeah, these are these are a unique twist
on stuff. They really stand out. They really like. The paint jobs
on these really pop. They're gonnalook so good on your shelves or hanging
(01:07:05):
on your wall. So and yeah, automotive history through Diecast points on maybe
our only chance to get them.Well yeah, because I these are going
to be hard to find on theshelves because they're going to be you know,
snapped up real quick. I definitelythink there's gonna be a rush on
them. I've seen some very earlyposts on these, and the buzz is
(01:07:27):
just killer. So you know, again, stick around. There's gonna be
a lot of really great stuff comingour way very soon. Again, a

(01:08:55):
