I'm good, I'm good. Theweather's doing really nice and everything. Um,
but there's a lot um that weneed to talk about. Well,
not really a lot. We alwaysdo it every way. Um. First
of all, obviously, shout outto our DJ hot Rod, mister Muto

(00:36):
Calliana. He is always on fire, that man, and he's been doing
a lot of events. Man,shout out every Tuesday, you already know,
come down every Tuesday. It's fiftydollars. I told everybody I'll get
you guys on two fms. Whoevercomes down, like play their songs on
there as well as a live broadcastgoing from California, SA's three. So
I keep telling everybody, come down, man down. I'm trying. I'm

(00:58):
trying to start something new and newtrend to get the artists not to come
out, but the artists is toreally, you know, really feel like
now they have a line that couldreally help them, because I feel like
a lot of the DJs nowadays they'retoo they're too worried about you know what
I mean, Like worrying about Oh, you know, I gotta stay exclusive.
I can't play this certain person.I can't. No, I ain't
know about that man. It's abouthaving great music and pushing the young artists

(01:22):
out there. So everybody, I'mgonna be real with y'all. A lot
of y'all don't. A lot ofy'all goal get into these places and stuff
like that. You guys don't getyou guys chances. I want to give
you guys a chance. I wantto get you guys. Seen Nakomey missed
the International Now you already. Noshout out. I tell my boys in
the UK, shout out to theCaribbeans, baby, because you know we're
getting played there. Man Mayo outthere. We love you. Mayo is

(01:46):
in the Caribbean and he's helping usout too, so big shout out to
him. You hook that up.Shout out to Miles man nine the eight
point eight Zia. You know, wils that's why that's a really cool accent.
Yeah, yeah, I know.He made me get that. Yeah,
I see that. I'm like, you know, when you even travel
all over the country, this ishow he's saying. All over the Niceans
seriously internationally shout go ahead, okay. So also, um, I wanted

(02:12):
to shout out, of course, our favorite mister Boogie, Uncle Buggie.
I'm sorry Uncle Buggie over there inPower one or four point nine wt SX
and Kocomo Indiana. And he wasjust um celebrating himself with one of those
artists that shout out to homeboy thatgot the plaque. You know who you
are, man, shout out tohim and he won't platinum, So you
already know the DJ's out there thatwas spitting him. That's just something.

(02:36):
Man. We're gonna keep it goingand stuff like that. And I'm telling
all your artist is hit me upbecause of spins, you know what I
mean. We wanted to show everybodylike you know, when you get spent
on these these uh you know theseshows that we have, you're not gonna
be It's not like you know, like, okay, the radio is gonna
go ahead. No, it counts, Yeah it does. So all the

(02:57):
spins counts. That's what I'm tryingto tell y'all, right, And we're
spinning them as much as we can, and it's we're trying. We're trying
to break artists. We try togive you guys to the next level.
I'm not promising done to you guys, because you guys are the ones that
got to make the hit record ofthe music. But we can definitely you
know, sit back, really pushthem out and really try to help you
guys. Yeah, this is true, um, and that's why we have
a lot of things going on.And um again with the Advocate that Danny

(03:23):
has on Friday nights and that's onone of Fridays and Saturdays, Fridays and
Saturday's excuse man, Fridays and Saturdaysat ten to eleven UM one or three
point nine FM, Long Island NewsRadio. And that's another outlet that we
have, UM, but that ismore geared to you know, the advocacy

(03:43):
side of you and you rights. But we play something cold, giving you
your roses, and it's called theAdvocate Mix, right, and the Advocate
Mix is to break the artists thatdo the positive music to get rid of
this negative outlook. Yeah, that'sjust true because you know what, He's
had a lot of submissions and we'vehad to throw a lot of them out

(04:04):
because, um, when we whenyou know what, because when we say
clean, we mean you know, clean version like a radio edit version.
We want something positive and motivational.Um, we don't want anything about violence
and stuff like that. We wanttrue stories. We want there are a

(04:27):
lot of artists out there that telltheir stories and song and everything, and
we just want to showcase that rightnow because there's a please don't be sending
me things going please don't yeh, come on, we're not doing that.
We're not doing that. Um.With that said, well and then no,
go ahead, no, no,no, go ahead. I'm gonna
let you so North Carolina. Okay, Um, that's c mv A one

(04:53):
O seven point five from Charlotte,North Carolina. See I got it right.
I didn't have to practice. Shoutout to that body out there.
Please listen up seriously, man tomusic. We broke a lot of records
on you. We're breaking a lotof records and people think we're crazy.
But you know what this is,Um, this is for the artist.
This is for the artist. Youknow what I mean. This is for
the artist because I was an artistas well. You still are. Yeah,

(05:15):
but kind of I'm trying to getmore into the Let me push him
out and let me make sure thatyoung guys get their opportunities something that because
Danny feels like he's an old fartright now, so he can't do much
of anything anymore. But you knowwhat, when we come out with your
album that you know, yeah, you can give me that look and everything
like that, but we're gonna getthat album out sooner or later. I'm
pushing him, but he's not moving. Fine, I'll do it. I

(05:38):
announced it here. I have thealbum out next month, next month,
next month? Does promise? Yeah? Okay, so everybody that's watching you
heard that. So if he saidthat, June right, June, and
I'll push the album. Okay, good, So June will push the album.
That'd be great because there are alot of songs on there that I
feel that are really good songs, and you know, I think you should

(06:00):
push it so fine. I'm justsaying because it hasn't. That album has
a little bit of everything, andit's got a little bit of rap,
a little bit of R and B, a little bit of like a Caribbean.
There's a couple of songs with likethat Caribbean. Yeah, mind,
you bready know how we got hedoes a bad Bob Marley, let me
tell you. But anyway, speakingof the shot, I know, I'm

(06:24):
so sorry hunt, but um speakingof R and B. Okay, So
our guest for tonight his name isRomeo B. And it was a cute
story the way I met him,and we'll talk about that when we come
back. So and I want togive one more shout out. Oh,
listen to me Mondays. Listen tome Mondays to Fridays on Hot nine seven

(06:46):
points seven in California, Fresnow rightFresno, California. You already know DJ
Energetic show coming live eight o'clock totwelve o'clock every Monday every Monday to Friday
nights. So let's get ready foras we are not sleeping easy, but
let's go to commercial breaking this waywe can come back, but round me,
obeyed, take video. Put yourhands up right now. We're inside

(07:35):
of war with ourselves. You're America. We're gonna wake up from this.
We're the real Americans behind man.You blinded and you blind you just send
to inside your own Everyone but tendsthe love you put messing you, whooping
homes, laughing without the way,you can't even afford food, and everybody

(07:56):
looking at you acting so blue, they're thinking that they love you. Your
skin that's what they see. Theydon't understand the melotute one of the be
but the anchor that they got it. They just play for each other a
civil war and trying to come forus, chill one another. But I
woke up last night I kinda talkedto my PIDs, tell them listen,
we gotta march and what do weget it? You're laughing, you crying?

(08:18):
You ain't when you're feeling the stainingand say you went all the time
They just demon was standing. Maybeyou inside the colors ain't then want to
see you out. They leave you, lockdoors, bringing your jaws on the
like you what they want to tryand put you inside, want a licker
smith, the blacks on you withinthe year when it's a cop screaming likeness.
Now we'll listen and were thinking pricesto putting that too there before crashing

(08:39):
the crisis. Now they hate didn'ttell the way how they even look.
They try to lock uself, dowith down, trying to play the book,
want to get its chi every time, trying to get it book over
shoptain got us ere love us.They trying for chilling every close with the
phone next to each other's years. But when my social distance single honey years,
they try to can like we gain'tone to side at hold We like

(09:03):
that, we didn't want side holdon. And we're back and we're back.

(09:35):
Yeah, but you know what,we're on the wrong side. I
need to No, no, no, I'm gonna look at it. I'm
gonna get up now now, nohold on, hold on, you get
you get over here. You're gettingthe hot seat. Let's go now,
I got you see those people now, No, no, we gotta put
him on the seat. No,no, no, no, we're putting
him right. So we got oneof the I'm gonna say, one of
the eldest singers right now in thegame, right now with me. You

(09:58):
know what I'm saying. Go ahead. First off, I met you at
Holad's Got Talent, yep. AndI remember you were saying something that you
just did in the Apollo. Yeahyeah, yeah yeah. So um,
I was saying some brunda mars.I think I pulled up. I saying
versach on the floor. Wait holdup, you some brutal mars. Yeah

(10:18):
yeah, give me a taste rightnow, give the listen to the taste
real quick. Go ahead, ittake out time tonight of us, all
the stars watching. There's no placesat Roth in this world. Your eyes

(10:43):
aware from lasting. I didn't leavethe shame day on forever. You know
what I'm saying, I told youwhen when when you you you know what
the funny thing as a story is. You know what the funny thing is,
You'll be here in an auto tunetoo much. And when you hear

(11:03):
that, yea is like whoa, yeah, but you knowing. But the
backstory is that you met him, right and he gave you a business card?
Yeah right? Okay? So Iwas on I G and I was
checking him out to see, youknow, if he had any talent.

(11:24):
No, but you know what I'msaying, you never you know, because
like he said, people with autotune okay, or people with you know,
all kinds of synthesizers and stuff likethat. So when I checked you
out, I was like, yeah, I really like this guy. So
I was telling Danny, He's like, okay, cool. And then I
happened to see you somewhere else andI was like, what the hell you

(11:45):
know? I booked you from myshow. But the funny thing is is
that we met, you know, and we it was meant to be that
way, you know, it wasjust it was just kids met I'm very
glad, all right. First off, here we go. I love the
pitch. I like the vocal controlis dope. I got no complaints.

(12:09):
I was a flawless. Second off, I couldn't even hear your home Got
Talent, yeah, because of themics, right yeah, yeah. So
I'm trying to hear him and he'slike, oh, he's just killing it,
and I can't hear him. Sowhen you try to put on no
offense all I Got talent, it'snot then then they don't know this on
that. But it's hard to hearsometimes these artists in the shows because of

(12:33):
like the room. So the roommight be like you know, it might
be like a yeah, so itdoesn't echo, or sometimes the sound just
gets shot from that. Well maybe, but isn't it like don't people like
sometimes maybe I'm being stupid here, but don't people like bring their own mics
at times or something like that.I mean, I've seen this weird kid
bring like a whole arm and thenhe brought like a glass mic. I

(12:54):
was like, what is going onhere? But That's what I'm saying because
like, sometimes you don't know likewith a certain equipment that we'll have at
the studio that might actually work withthe artist that's performing. Well. I
could already just hearing his vocal.I was like, whoa, because he
blew me away the minute I sawhim. M hmm, okay, he
just blew me away. That's whyhe's here. That's right, that's I

(13:16):
said that. That's right, Like, no, no, he got a
great um, you really got agood image. Appreciate that he's got a
good voice. And when I saidaround me are, I was like,
realmeo around? Where did you getgood name from middle name? Oh?
It is his middle name. Yeah, so I'm named after my grandfather and
grandfather. So that is so sweet. And we got to say hi to
Marcus in the audience. He's thisis what I love, the brotherly love,

(13:41):
the support and he's here in theoffice supporting his bro. So that's
a you know, it's such it'sgreat to see that. Um. But
again, tell us where you were, where you were brought up and everything?
Yeah, absolutely, so, um, you know born in Long Island,
dot me look at the camera onisland Porto, Long Island. So
yeah, I believe it was Ithink that page or something like that.

(14:05):
You don't even remember when you're born, that's how much you move around.
We moved around at moved to Queens, moved to Queens, um and you
know, spent my time in Queensuntil I was in high school. Part
of Queens Flushing, Flushing, shoutflushing. As my father's from Palmanac projects.
Yeah, I want to middle schoolin high school around there. Yeah,
we went to Quia Sides right veryclose to um, you know,

(14:28):
Queen's College. So yeah, rightback Caussine the Boulevard exactly. Okay,
I'm from Queens, so yeah,I know that. I know that.
But listen, when you're in Queens, you pretty much know most of the
neighborhoods, not all the neighborhoods. But you know, listen, Queens is
so laid back like Long Island is. Yeah, let me ask them when

(14:50):
you're in Hallm, right, truestory, true story, because I'm in
the Hallm, Brooklyn. Yeah, the Bronx, Right, there's a different
atmosphere. Yeah, because when yougo into Hallm it's kind of like,
I don't be honest, I kindof like I'm better than you kind of
sound and dudes don't really like yougot to really prove yourself in hallm Well,

(15:11):
yeah, when you're in Brooklyn, you're Brooklyn. Everybody's angry, you
know what I mean. But noteverybody. No, everyone's angry. Not
everything. No, everyone's angry. But you know him because you know what,
you never hear queens, but younever heard queens Staton do go I'm
from stating, they always go yoursong from Brooklyn. You're like, oh,
okay, yeah, you know whatI'm saying. Yeah. No,

(15:35):
I think one of the rest Iliked about Harlem though, Um, you
have to prove yourself, you know. I walked up and I was like,
I'm pretty good. They didn't reallyrespect me until I got on that
stage. No, no, no, no, they look like look like
another one. Oh god, anotherguy that thinks he could sing, Like
no, no, no. Thenall of a sudden, you hear us

(15:56):
I did a sing in the Apollo, And everyone's like yeah, yeah,
right when, right, right wheneverybody found that he did something in the
Apollo to eat like the woman thatwas eating her shrip. Yeah, it
was a secret word, he said. I didn't show him the Apollo.
It's the co word. But thatis some type of fIF though to be

(16:18):
on stage at the Apollo. Imean not just anybody. Now, he
got he got Hall him right thenand there even Cookie, that girl Cookie,
because first of all, she hithim. They hit him the mic.
They're like mm hmmmmmmmm yeah, He'slike, oh I watched it.
It was just like strictly you knowwhat I mean. So it was pretty

(16:41):
dope. Yeah, and I appreciatethat Cookie. She actually let me go
acapella because she was like, themic is not that's when he has a
capella. So you know, Ijust sing acapella now, like a really
show show it so I know youwere dangerous. I was eating my food
and I was eating the food.I was like, and I put up
in the you had the folk drop. He's really good. Now he's ain't
from Long Islands. Ain't he fromCooram. I'm like, so he's done

(17:07):
a little bit of the spectrum ofthe of New York and Queens and Long
Island. So you've been a littlebit like you you like a dog walking
through and just like you know, pretty much going on every tree and everybody.
She is so wrong. What youneed to say is he's just been
around. That's it. Put thatI get around. Yeah, yeah,

(17:32):
okay. So also, I justwanted to know who because obviously with the
rhythm and blues, who were yourinfluences growing up? Oh yeah, that's
a good question. So honestly,Michael Jackson was like everybody always says,
you know what, every no offense, but everybody says Michael Jackson no matter
what genre? Right, no,no, don't don't argue with me,

(17:53):
can't you don't say no, let'sget back. For every everybody that we've
talked to a lot, it's like, oh, Michael Jackson growing up because
he was you know, he wasn'tjenis a lot mob. Yeah, okay,
so who else? Um? Andyou know, more recently it's been

(18:15):
like Bruno Mars in the Weekend. You know who my favorite was? Johnny
Gil Yeah addition, shout Johnny GilMom. I mean, yeah him,
excuse me, and I'll be sureand I'm gonna say something. You're gonna

(18:37):
give me a crazy look. Iam probably Bobby Brown really really is everything,
and R and the fingers should bereally angry. It is just me
between you and me. We wentfrom Bobby Brown and Chris Brown. Oh

(18:59):
yeah, but I should really goodtoo. Yeah, that's another I'm gonna
say hit. I'm gonna say everybodyalways forgets better Mario. Oh yeah,
I didn't even think of him.Everybody always forgets about him. Okay,
Mario was good. And what's theother guy's name? Um, how about
Keith Sweat? Yeah, Keith satback in those days, Silk shout out

(19:22):
to Jimmy Gates. Jimmy Gates, boys, we see you down in Atlanta
right now. You better make thatalbum hot. You need to. I
know you're watching right now. Youneed to make that album hot. Yeah,
Okay, he's doing his work there. I got out to William Young
too. He was actually in thestudent mathematics. Yes, and there's a
lot of R and B out there, but um, there's not that many.
I don't know what. So besidesBruno at this point in the weekend,

(19:48):
who else about Jason Jason Derulo?Yeah? Yeah, you think he's
relevant at this point? Jason anytime, I feel like can be because of
the records that he could make, you know, make a big record to
come out, just like wom Wellout of all those, I mean,
I'm sorry, I'm not doing what'sthe dude's name? Give me a minute.
No, I'm not gonna give youa minute, Lloyd Lloyd, Yeah,

(20:11):
yeah, he could just come hopon a track and it'll be boy,
could just hop on the track becausehis voice. Yeah really yeah,
do I know him? No?Okay, I'm not even sure, but
um I do. Okay. Soif out of all those people, who
would you like to if you hadthe chance to, who would you sing
with? Sing with? Yeah?I think you'd probably be probably be the

(20:33):
weekend, the weekend, probably theweekend. Would it be like like a
like a crazy you know, femalekind of record, you know, like,
oh you women are crazy kind ofthing, or you can make millions.
I shouldn't have said put Lola Brookon it. I don't know who
that is. Scarlett too, thisis what New York sounds like. Oh

(20:57):
no, no, no, weare not telling you. It's called it.
I'll bring you up here was love. I'm just played. I don't
know who that is exactly. Okay, let's go anyway. Because she said
this is what New York sounds like, I'm like, just what Long Island
sounds like? Yeah, Strong IslandTV man. Yeah, So what,
um do you do a lot oflike venues? Are you out there?

(21:18):
Like? What is your daily grind? Like yeah, so, um,
you know, I still work mynine to five so I worked my Oh
my god, we forgot one importantkey though, but Acon, Acon's my
boy. Yeah, can you lethim finish? It's not that because he
said in the nine to five right, yeah, so Acon said it,

(21:41):
and this is what this was.Struck me. Every entertainers still working nine
to five. And he explained beforehe blew up he was working at AH,
he was working lifting boxes and allthat. So when he said all
of that, I was just likeone important key wom it struck me and
said, akon, Well isn't itlike that? Also with them the athletics

(22:02):
and stuff like that, A lotof people, you know, they may
be millionaires playing football and basketball andstuff like that, but they also have
other investments or jobs or whatever. You gotta have something to fall back on.
Just d blank Yeah, okay, where were we I forgot? Um?
Oh yeah, how what what's mydaily grind life? Yes? Okay,

(22:22):
go ahead. So um, youknow, I kind of started out
with doing open mics and showcases,um, and I found that those were
great ways to kind of raise myplatform. But right now it's kind of
been more focusing on like gigging andyou know, really generating connections, like
meaningful connections, um and just increasingmy exposure UM here and there, because
um, you know, I don'tthink open mics and showcases necessarily like it's

(22:45):
the sound system, it's all theseother things. What do you say between
you and me is beneficial inside ofshowcase? Because I do something called the
Mainsia Label Showcase with Will Styles. Will Styles basically brought me in. Yeah,
he really does bring every right,So you will see Gabe, you
will see Drew Ski, you wouldsee DJUM Superstar j then you would have

(23:10):
Columbia Sony and even the funny thingis that he actually brought other people from
media outlets and stuff there, likerap Radar, the Ryan from The Ryan
Show, and he brought other outletsthere to check it out incognito because you
know, he had a couple offamous writers there too, from like music

(23:33):
and stuff. Yeah, so there'slike a lot of things like when we
throw the major showcase. We throwa major showcase, so we try to
it's sold. Literally, I'm notgonna lie to you. Shout out to
Will Man. He killed it.Yeah, five hundred and fourteen people and
the doors was shut down at ninethirty. Wow, you couldn't get in?
Yeah, because it wasn't that wedidn't want them to come in.
It was just that at that venuethere was a capacity and we couldn't know

(23:56):
the flow, you know, andthe owner made sure that we didn't know
the flow. It's I understood that. So we basically had to wait for
some people to leave in order forother people that come in. I mean,
you know they do that. Imean any club you go to or
anything like that, it's the samesituation. It wasn't like we wanted it
that way, but it worked outreally well though we did have a lot
of people. But I'm gonna letyou get back. But the thing what

(24:18):
I'm trying to say to you iswhy do you feel like because a lot
You're not the only artists that haveit told me this. Yeah, a
lot of people who are artists whonot like showcases. Yeah. I would
say it's mostly because not all showcasesare created equal. It's kind of crazy
because you have the expectation of areally good showcase like the one you mentioned,
That's what all artists are really lookingfor, and then you have showcases

(24:41):
that will promise that and not necessarilydeliver, and so you go out there
and you feel like you're doing allthis performance for the as an artist and
they're not really providing the value thatthey promised. Well, we won't do
that to you your painting, Likewhat one doesn't matter? So I don't
know what I'm saying, Like,Okay, so somebody plays one fifty,

(25:02):
right, so now you're getting paidone fifty, and you know you're not
promise anything. So basically, insteadof him going to do that show,
he could have won on Google Adsand he could have wanted to put the
money here, put his money here, put his money here, come on
the DNA Live Show and get anice beautiful interview with mister DJ and jeddak
Andy Althaia dobus. I mean itcould happen. I mean I have to

(25:22):
say, you know, um,learning more about the industry, I understand
like who I can trust and whoare is actually going to help me grow
my career. And you know, some some people are fake. That's how
life is, you know. Andbut I think that's a lot in the
music industry because you know what, you know, what it is is that
I think everybody sees a good thing, right and it's like a copycat kind

(25:48):
of thing. It's like, oh, that that's working for them, let's
try it ourselves. But they're not. Can I say something real quick?
But they're hard. Don't try tobe me. No, But what I'm
saying is is that, but younever know what each other showcase provides.
And there are people out there whoare genuine. You know, you just

(26:08):
got to know which door to open. That's it. But no, I'm
very excited because you know what, you're a really great artist. I like
the way how honestly that you're notscared to just sell you know what,
we got to go travel or putyour money when your mouth is because you
know when you try anything, becauseyou understand it, anything can catapult you

(26:29):
to the next level. So areyou My question to you is are you
looking for a major deal? Areyou looking for guidance? Do you want
to just stay that independent right andbecome a major independent? I would probably
say depending on what the deal was, you know, I would I'd be
open to signing a deal, butright now just focused on building and being
independent until anything like that were tohappen. What would you say if I

(26:52):
if, like you know, Itold you to come somewhere and then you
sat down in the room and theyhypothetically offered you something, but then you
felt like Gilworth is a little bitmore. So what would you tell,
like, like basically, how wouldyou come to see it? Yeah,
I would probably say I'm looking tostill build right now on my own career
and you know, be independent untilum, my value is actually seen.

(27:15):
And you know, you guys arearticulating my value when we sit down on
the table together, because you know, you always have to have like a
kind of price in your head oryou know where your value is kind of
at, and I know it's it'sfairly high, and I know that I
feel like I'm going to do reallybig things, so right, I appreciate
that. I appreciate that. Andyou know, Um, I missed my

(27:37):
auditions because I wanted to do AmericanIdol. I want to do the Boys.
But I released my album around thattime, so I missed a lot
of these auditions. So this nextyear it's just about auditioning, you know,
spreading, spreading the word and doingall of that, but also putting
some more music out there because that'swhat I love to do. So right,
So with that said, um,Bobby Um. We can play one

Pelon, So, how bad didyou feel with the Kevin Stevens. Darius

(30:12):
and I were in their kitchen andwe were like we we were dominating Mary
on them at the time, andKevin just wanted to take us, take
me out, and it was itwas a touch icing and there was no
need for him to come through, and he was just and I kind of
played like I didn't see him andif the last second, just jumped right
into him and we really loved andmyself everybody, Oh what Jilly makes this?

(30:36):
She's that's my husband's right there.That's so and we're back back.

you all l you're all and ain't. When the stars light my room,

(31:36):
I'll sit down myself talking to themood. You light it up. I'm
trying to get to you. Andan't you on the other side talking to

(31:57):
me too? Oh? My phone? Who sits alone talking to the moon?
Whoa who? Feeling like I'm famoustalk of the time. They say

(32:20):
I've gone many I've gone. Man. They don't know what I know,
because when the sun goes down, someone's talking back. Oh they talking back?
Oh anight, when the stars lightup my room, I'll sit by

(32:49):
myself talking to the moon, tryingto get to you. Don't show the
other side talking to Joe around. My food sits alone talking to the moon.

(33:29):
Whoever you be, colllo because everynight, don't talking to moon,

(33:49):
still trying to get to you.You won't you all the other side talking
to him too? I am myfood who sits up talking to the moon.

(34:17):
No, he's summer out there.Oh fuck and went back? Did
you scare your competition a little bitthat night. Yeah, I saw everybody
gets silent, and he said walkingthrough the move, was that actually at
a showcase or something? Yeah?Yeah, that was one of the first

(34:40):
showcases I've done. Yeah, theylook nervous. Everybody was like, yeah,
that's why everybody you saw him myquiad. You know what one thing
I gotta say about that too,is don't you realize, like, if
somebody's good, you should literally goup to him. Listen to me.
People, if somebody's gonna showcase,go up to him and say, yo,
bro, you're dope. Don't belike sitting there like, oh man,

(35:00):
that god was terrible. It's likelying to yourself. And then and
then after that person wins, you'relike, why did he win? I
should have won, just like yo, brother, dude got real talent.
But I try to be funny.I'll be an honest. Yeah. How
long ago was that one? Oh? That was in August and of August.
Yeah, and I've never seen competitionthat quiet. And he's like,

(35:22):
well, I get through the moveto the Moon, Okay, I get
it right before you start talking. At the end of the day, everybody
was quiet. Yeah, and that'swhy I was quiet watching him. I
was I was like, hmmm,so nice. I love that song too
by Bruno Mars. You know,he does a lot of one. I
think one of my favorites is umGrenade. Oh that's such a good one.

(35:45):
Loade, love that one. Buthe does a lot of you know,
he he he experiments with everything.Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
He's just like you don't know whereto pinpoint him sometimes because like he
can do up town funk and thenhe does like a James Brown kind of
song and stuff like that, andthen he could change it up to a

(36:05):
beautiful ballad. You know. Hejust he's he's really good. He's multi
talented. I feel like I feellike you get people nervous. He didn't
make me nervous. No, notlike that. I'm just saying like when
he gets up there, now hehas a certain note because Bruno mar is
so hard. Yeah, and andthe way that you hit it. I
was like, whoa, you givehim some problems on that one. So

(36:27):
how long have you been singing for? Um? I was singing since I
was like two years old. Umtoo. My mom was like I was
humming stuff and not and then myfirst is that you Marcus. He doesn't
know, he doesn't know, hedoesn't he doesn't know. He said,

(36:50):
oh, this horse was this iswhat's fun when you have your brother come
into the studio. Yeah, okay, you had to expect that brother's like,
I don't want to do this.I don't I don't want to be
here no more. But her twoyears old? Okay, but when did
you start to realize that you wereYou had a set of pipes, you
know, like um so it wasa third grade y m c A I

(37:15):
saying I want you back by MichaelJackson. Jackson, Oh, I remember
that in the whole classroom almost likeit was like, yeah, it was
like a stage and they were alllike, oh my god. And I
was like, you know, doingmy things and how old I was seven?
Seven years? So how old areyou knew? Twenty six? He
did. He doesn't have to revealhis age. He's still a baby.

(37:37):
He's still he's acting like he's eightymusic years. I am hard yeah a
long time. Yeah. So it'slike he's like in dog years, you
know, he multiplies every year.Dead Literally he's in the grade with a
flower sticking out already exactly it's gone. He's gone. We're already been praying.

(37:58):
We're doing the memorials a year andstuff. Yeah yeah right, so
Um, Also, if you weren'tlet's just say, if you weren't in
music, what would you be doingright now? If I wasn't in music,
Yeah, I would really enjoy probablybartending. I like talking to people
ending, and if you can makeme a really good cosmo, right,

(38:22):
I think making cocktails is just soso cool. Oh my gosh, so
called cocktail I haven't had. Ihaven't had a really good cocktail in a
very long time. I'm so sorry. I don't I know, I don't
change your life. You know, you know what it is. It's because
we have a you know, wedo have regular jobs. Right, so
that regular job ten about ten eleven, twelve hours sometimes a day or whatever.

(38:45):
And then that I can't be drinkingand driving. Yeah you know so,
and then when you get home it'slike the radio stations this, you
know, doing that. You know, I have no time to drink.
Yeah, you want to drink.I do want to drink. I want
to have like one nice contain.Yeah, what is your favorite cocktail?

(39:06):
Um? I would probably say, yeah, you think about its expresso Martini
express. Oh I like them.Do not look at me at all to
make that, because I will breakthe cup. I got these hands,
I got like these hands, likeyou know the Bartan you see him do
that nighttime? Like I can makehim look so bad. Right now,

(39:28):
tell people his favorite drink. Okay, okay, and if like, if
you go your colada, I'm notkidding, I kid you not, so
listen and you're the funny thing, and you're the funny thing and not embarrass
me. And you know what thefunny thing is. He's like babies it
okay, if I could have youknow, because when we go out and

(39:49):
stuff like that, one of ushas to drive, right, so he'll
go get a virgin peanut Colada. And then I feel bad so I don't
drink and I let him go outso he can have them rum you know
what I mean? You know someOkay, first you gotta switch it.
First off, I'm gonna say somethingright now, and this is not You're
gonna be shot. You know whatMy real favorite drink was until I really
started like realizing I couldn't handle liquors. I'm crazy, Ian Jay, Ian

(40:13):
Jay, what's that? Oh?My god, I said something bad.
I didn't even know what. Idon't need Hennessy. Oh it's the little
thing from the Hennessy. So Iused to like Hennessy on the rocks and
I was like sixty. Oh man, I would drink that old day my
Timberlin boots. But I was areal rap. Like this you that fake
Timberlin boots. Okay, I hadthe real temps. Okay, it was

(40:34):
a different arrow. You couldn't havenothing fake. You have some people call
you out. Man, you didn'tlike those fakes. I love them boots.
You did. I did know youdid. We used to stomp people
outlaying you are playing, but sowe got expressed. You know what?
Um, I actually tried. Um. There were two different martinis. There

(40:57):
was a birthday cake martini and andI'm enjoying martini. So that sounds amazing.
It was. It was okay,So let's get back to you.
So, um, what is like? What is like the pro and con
of the music business? If youcould tell me one thing that you think
that is so great about the businessbut also something that is just not so

(41:19):
pleasant. Um, I'll say, because I'm a very results oriented person,
you know, and the way Iwanted to approach this is kind of like
how I would approach like my job. You know, something consistent that I
work and I get stuff out ofit. Let's say the pro is that
I'm doing what I love. Youknow, I get to go out there
perform, you know, maybe likechange somebody's life for a second, and

(41:40):
you know that's really what I'm lookingto do. And I would say,
Well, the cons though, is, you know, I want to see
where the results are, but Idon't see the results until like later on.
So you know, I would sayafter six months of reflection, it's
like, oh, I've came likea pretty far away. You know,
it's good to see, but youknow, when you're doing it in the
moment, you're like, okay, but like what has this really done for

(42:02):
me? You know? And that'swhy you know some of these showcases or
other you know events where it doesn'treally give me that value. I'm like,
okay, so how has this reallyhelped me? So now it's like,
all right, I can just bemore strategic with the people that I'm
around, and you know what Itend to do and how I move,
so um, I would say theresults are hard to see at first,

(42:23):
but it's good. It's good todo what I love. But that's happened.
That's actually how we started this. And I always give a shout out
to mister first class second place himself, Jason and Reque, because he was
a genuine soul that wanted to uminterview Danny m and he actually and he

(42:45):
was, and he's based in Jersey, no less, And he came all
the way from Jersey to interview himat home, no less. And he
came and he interviewed him at home, and after he left, we had
we were Danny was actually inspired byhim and said, you know, this
is something cool that we could dofor ourselves, you know. And Jason
is actually the one that kind oflike opened that door for us. He

(43:07):
basically brought me back to doing whatI'm doing because that she doesn't there's a
lot of things like, um,I used to do this in my school,
my high school. So I usedto have a show of radio in
my high school. Shout out toSatis. So we used to have a
radio station. Then we used tojob the guy crazy because you know,
can't really played hip hop music. And I would always slip on Biggie a

(43:30):
big yella tupop and then I gotin trouble because one had curse words on
it, and uh, you everhear a Deadley combination? Yeah, yeah,
that's why I played. Oh god, I slipped it in. He
goes, what is this? Isaid, it's a nice come song.
And the principal heard and all youhear is he was like, mister Rivera,

(43:52):
please report to the principal's office.I sat down. He goes,
what happened? He goes, youplayed curse music on the station? Well,
yeah, I didn't. You did, and thank god years ago,
you know, they didn't have likethree thing. Yeah, sound like that
wasn't me. That was like thatthat time when you played when what was
that? Guy's the one that youplayed? But definitely bringing, definitely getting

(44:15):
me inspire to do podcasting. Enriquelove him, love my minx too,
my girl shout him out to us, I love you and um also um
like it's like that song that Inever I don't think I ever heard of,
and we've actually performed it here onKaraoke Night, the Afroman song whatever
Oh No, can I say it? Yeah, go ahead say it?

(44:44):
Yet smoked that tumble as the manwant we take our turns singing m dirty
rap songs. Yeah. And youknow, the funny thing was that,
um, it was a young girlactually who did the karaoke that night here.
And I was flabbergasted because, likeeverybody was enjoying all the other songs

(45:07):
and everything, right, but whenshe got on stage, I started singing
that song. Everybody like was enjoyingit. You know what I'm saying.
Everybody got up, everybody's started singing. She knew I knew the words.
She's like, you know this song, it's my child And I didn't even
know that. And I'm sitting there, that's my child. My mouth was

(45:28):
agape. I was looking and terrifiedit. Everybody in the room knew the
words and I was the only onethat didn't know the words. I was
like, I don't even I didn'tnever even heard this song before. I
never heard of it. I'm sorry, I said, you got another clip?
Yes we do? We Oh oh, I'm sorry. I'm just breaking
everything here today. Um, ifanything, we can play another clip that

(45:52):
he gave me. If Bobby hasit ready, we can play it right
now. You close your eyes, let that rhythm get into you. Don't

(46:24):
try to fight it. There ain'tnothing that you can do. Relax your
min I lay back and grove withmind. You gotta feel that deed and
we can ride the book, sharethe beet of lab. I wanna rock

(46:50):
with you? Oh night, a'tyou in today? I wanna rock with
you. Oh he gonna right andnight away out on the floor. There
ain't nobody there buy it eyes girl. When you dance, there's a magic

(47:20):
then must be leve. Just takeinglove. Oh we got so hard to
go. When you feel that heand we can rather bugatt beating now.
I wanna walk with you, Ohnight, fit you in today, I

(47:47):
wanna talk with you. He gonnadance tonight and when the crew bese dead
in God, yeah you know thatsurvive be gonna whatever. Let's go,

(48:22):
y'all. I want to rock withyou. I wanta group with you.
Put me on, I want torock with you. I want I want

(48:46):
to talk with you, rack withyou, Rack with you. Yeah you

(49:23):
got that ship. Now you whipback listen. I don't want to hear
nothing because even the audience is gonnabe Why do you pick the two hardest
records? I want to show upa little bit. Nobody want to talk
out to that put them on toMichael Jackson. If as the competition,

(49:45):
I'll be like, are you gottabe kidding me? Man? Yeah,
that's that's the reaction I got fromsome people. Yeah, but isn't that
what you want to tell you? It's so on the Titanic? But who's
something on the Titanic. That's theonly record I can actually see a girl
being like, no, I coulddefinitely beat him on this one, because,
first off, Michael Jackson and BrutalMall. I'm having a heart attack

(50:07):
on the maybe Black Widow, BlackWidow. Yeah, the record Black Widow
maybe could do like, you know, something against Blue the Mall. But
my goodness, Grace, she's likehim going with that, Oh night,
I'll be sitting there like this.Yeah, man, I'm definitely gonna lose.
I. Love on the Brain byRihanna is another song that I love
to say, so, oh loveon the Brain the Brain. I was

(50:30):
just playing that today in my car. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nobody's got vocals. See Ria carryshe got me being because she's a soprano,
you know, she she does thewhistletones and whatnot. I'm like,
okay, I can't I can't shedoes that weird thing. Yeah, yes,
yeah, but you know what,I'm like you no offense. But

(50:51):
a lot of the great singers havethat it. I think James Brown,
I think James Brown, Michael Jacksonand at the guys James Brown, Michael
Jackson, and everybody always forgets what'shis name. He had the craziest voice
one Brian and Knight. I wannabe what I'm saying, we can't.

(51:13):
I want to say all Kelly, but people might get mad at me for
that, like at sing Ye Bro. His vocal yeah, yeah, no,
his vocals were Yeah, his vocalsare crazy, especially when he said
I want to fly, I wantto fly. No, no, no,
yeah, he was snap right, you guys are just so wrong together.

(51:37):
You guys are really bad. Listen, he just snapped on that.
But now he's snapping all right, let's you know. But I'm just saying
that a lot of those you knowwhat, I don't want to me like
fat mess up and I'm gonna I'mgonna let you start talking a second.
Yeah, But like I wonder howhis salemate feels like back because he's definitely
singing youboty sing that classic boy.Sure that is so wrong. I'm not

(52:00):
no, I'm being serious. Like, imagine you're you're next to a superstar
right with like the craziest voice andlike yoursels like right here, so right
there, you're gonna be like,oh man, you gotta sing you something
many man, good, I knowthat. You know what? Now you
got me thinking about that, Likewhat is he singing in jail? I
mean I think he's singing the blues? Yeah? All right, okay,

(52:22):
so let's let's move on from that, okay, shall we? But um,
what I was saying is that youhave a distinct little niche, let's
say, in your voice, becauseyou can tell when Christina Aguilera is singing.
You can tell when Behanna is singing, or Beyonce or a Nicki Minaj.

(52:45):
And I'm going into the rap therewhen you hear Nicki, when I
hear Nikki, I know it's Nikki. Yeah you heard. He is just
so wrong on so many levels rightnow. But I'm just saying that there
are people's voices out that that havethat spect Like Sia when she is on
the radio, I know it's her, Shakira, the same thing. They

(53:07):
all have that that you know, but nobody can do runs like Christina.
I'm sorry, christ Seal. Everybodyis like everybody? What about um who
when Euston? Oh nobody can beatnobody can beat. Yeah, there's never
gonna be an What about the queen? What queen before Whitney? Which one

(53:30):
Aretha? Yeah? Oh well, like I said that, you cannot you
cannot compare those. I mean yougot an a Wreath or even a Tina
Turner, you know, or BillyHolliday. I mean we can. No.
I'm just saying it's just like, you know, every generation is different,
but I'm just saying, there's alot of queen of soul. One
thing I want to ask you, right, yeah, where does all your

(53:52):
inspiration for music come from? So? Um, I took this improv class
in college, and it really justshowed me that music, really, like
all American music, came from likethe blues, right, And so I
really started to get into the blueslike Freddie King, Buddy Waters and all
of that. And then I realizedthat, you know, they didn't really

(54:12):
have any instrumentation or anything like thatback then. They just would improv and
do their thing, right. Sothat's kind of like where I draw it
from. If I don't feel inspired. I'm not even listening to R and
B. I'm listening to the blueslike you were deadly deadly. You know.
It's not even that, it's thatyou gotta understand music, right,

(54:34):
The best artist has come from themost knowledge. Yeah, I know this
is true. But with that said, also like when, um, where
do you see yourself like five yearsfrom now? Like, what are you
doing five years from now? Um? Still performing? Still for sure,
um, but you know, hopefullyby then I would have had like my
brand is cultivated and people know whoRomeo B is and you know, performing

(54:59):
for bigger venues and stuff like that. You definitely are, You definitely are.
And you know, just look outfor him, you know, because
when we see talent, that's whatpeople have to understand. This is why
I ask people like him on theshow. There are certain people that will
grab me or Danny for that matter, and we want them on the show,
you know, because we know wecan do good things for them,

(55:21):
you know. And I'm glad thatyou came on the show. You know.
Well, Romeo, I'm gonna justtell you right now for everybody,
I'm gonna break one of your recordson the Advocate Mix. You're a dope,
dope artist man, and I justwant Long Island to really hear everything
that you do with my brother aswell as a couple of other stations.
I want to have you on.And another thing is too, you want

(55:42):
to shout out where people can findyour music and stand. One more thing
too, you got a new projectcoming on anything? Um yeah, so
definitely in the works. Um sophomorealbum probably in the next few months.
But you know, I'm actually workingon this single. It's a Bruno Mars
type. I feel like I carewe're crazy. Look look at him,
he just got I'm excited that he'slike, no, no, my gosh,

(56:07):
that's good. Um yeah. Myalbum Different that I released in February.
That's on Spotify, Apple Music, all platforms. Um Different by Romeo
B. And yeah, you canfollow me on Instagram. Um TikTok all
of that Romeo Underscore b Underscore sinceyou heard it here first Dangerous Dangerous And
with that said, I want againI want to thank you for coming on

(56:27):
our show. Thank you to misterMarcus over there. He's such a pleasant
man. And that's about it.But just remember find Romeo B on Instagram.
Facebook, every platform there is checkingout, we're gonna be putting his
songs out there. So until nexttime, people, peace out, love
and everybody have a great, greatweek. Thank you for having mean you

(56:49):
