all the all the prospects, all six draft picks from
the weekend are there filing into Rogers Arena. We got
that footage we talked about Ryan not a boy, young kids. No,

the guys in the dressing room getting ready and they're
they're here from Pat Patrick Alvin again, this is just

draft picks from Friday and Saturday were there, including Braden Coots,
friend of the show, taking fifteenth overall from the Seattle Thunderbirds,
and Alexey Medvedev, the goaltender from the London Nights. He's
just seventeen years old, by the way. And they used

all six of their picks, and there was no short
of Vancouver hockey fans people in conduct nation. And I
know you were like this. I was like, you expected
a trade, right, yeah, big time. But now you see
them use all all six picks. And last week I
gave a big thumb thumbs up to the acquisition of
Evander Kine because at that point I'm like, Okay, look,

they're not going to rebuild. It's not it's not going
to happen, right, okay, And then you've got some other
news which which points to that, but they used all
six picks on Friday and Saturday. I'm still confused that
maybe we find out more tomorrow when when the agency
opens July first, Happy Canada to day. Everybody, I don't

know what's the focus is it is? Is it not?

It's not rebuild or is it rebuilt? Because they did
not rebuilt. They are working the phones. They're working the phones,
trying to get better. They're trying to land some big fish.
That doesn't tell me.

But one of their trade chips was that fifteenth overall pick,
and we saw trades.

They didn't use it, and from what I was told,
Patrick Alvin had a tough time and like a lot
of other gms making trades, there was a lot of
tough time. It's a tough time. There's too many teams
that think they can still win on the Islanders did well, yeah,
well some teams didn't. Some teams didn't. Bottom line, all right, Okay.

So meanwhile, so you saw those pictures from the Canucks
development camp, or at least the introduction to the development camp.
There's also some news when it comes to players who
played for the Canucks last season, and several seasons before that.
Let's start with thatcher Demko.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Okay, Donny, this is going to get done. The NHL
drafts slowed down negotiations a little bit over the weekend
because the agents are busy dealing with the draft. The
hope is to get something done on an extension with
Demko maybe this afternoon. The Canucks will be solid in
goal for years with Dempko and lank And and you know that, Donnie,
they're gonna pay They're done the two veteran guys. Come on,

they could be paying close to twelve million for two
goalies in two years. Keeping on that one, will.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
You say solid and goal? Are you aware of Dempko's
injury history? Are you aware that they're on the verge
of signing him done?

Are you aware that they love this guy and they're
they're showing love.

For you said they're solid in goal, though, so what's
the term of the contract. We know that.

I don't think if it's five years or more, I'm
it's not a good move. I'm spitballing four to six years.
I'm expecting dem go between four to six. If the
number is not at seven, it should be in the
high sixes. But it could start with a seven me spitballing.

archer Sea Loves and they took a goalie round to

hundred percent healthy and he's been on the ice. If

trying to get Casey to Smith. They were trying to
get a bunch of guys on the market because he wasn't.
I'm hearing nothing but positivity when it comes to Dempko's health,

which is outstanding.

It's just that I think if it is, if it's something,
if it's anything more than three years, I maybe gonna
be three.

It's not gonna be three and it's not gonna be four.

People, I'm telling you right now, my guess maybe this
could be our poll question tomorrow. You know, if it
does happen, I'm gonna guess a lot of customers are
gonna be on it for you.

They might be let's wait for the numbers on Demko,
let's wait for them before. But I don't be surprised
if there's a little term attached to this time.

As for Medvedev, who comes from the Memorial Cup champion
London Nights, it's just seventeen years old, right, Okay, so
there's a there's a long way to go for him.
But that was the reaction that I had the first back,
and I had a lot of people had was okay,
what does this mean for sea loss? But again, he's
just seventeen, so you would think it's it's gonna take
a while.

If that kid's four or five, make an impact that four, five,
six years away medved that great pick by the Canucks.
Talked to some people yesterday Ontario can't say enough good things.
A great, great, great, great pick by the Canucks.

Okay, suitor who's scheduled to be comeboy UFA, Okay, here

The Canucks talk with suitors agent last Thursday, Friday, nothing
on the weekend. He's in a great spot. The Canucks
have two centers right now, Suitor, and there's a guy
named Michael Granlin that I expect them to be big
in on. Suitor might hit five million. I'm not saying
he's going to hit five on July first, but boys,
is not all Tavaris who all these centers leaving, and

the two top centers of ours didn't leave, No nobody
he resigned Toy. All these guys Bennett duchee off the market.
Suitor and Granlin are going to do fine if the
Canucks strikeout, If they strike out with Grandlin, and if
they strike out with Suitor, your number two center is
going to be philipedal. And you know what, and I
know it. I do expect the Canucks to poke around

some centers tomorrow and July first. Cody Glass. I expect that,
Christian Dvorak, expect that, Donny. There's one guy they haven't
shown and you asked me about this guy last week,
Jack Raslobic. They haven't showed interest in him yet, which
surprises me a.

Little bit of that name has been thrown around.

They liked him two three years ago and deals with
Horvat and Miller. They tried to get this guy.

We want to show that.

hard at this, Yeah he did. Brian didn't want to
show the development camp footage or this board, which I
think is of I'd like this, you know, important information.
But these are free agent targets for the Canucks going
into tomorrow July one, the start of free agency. Michael
granlind a pretty good playoff with the Dallas Stars. Cody Glass.

Remember twenty seventeen, and there was the thought that maybe
they take Cody Glass in the draft versus Elias Petterson,
Christian Dvorak, Jack Roslovik. We talked about him last week.
And the interesting one here Rick give them what happened
during a game in Los Angeles last season. Is Tanner
Jane tough winger who can cussed Brock Besser early last season.

So I expect the Canuxian on Granlin for sure tomorrow
to poke around. I think that's a good target for
them right now. Cody Glass, I've been told they're gonna
check in on Devorak. I've been told they're gonna check
in on Raslovik.

I was surprised when I heard they haven't checked and Tanner,
you know, two hundred plus hits top five fighter in
the National Hockey League. You need some grit, you need

type of guy you need, Good tough Canadians like Tanner Jano.

a ton of teams in on him. I don't see

Vancouver's not on my list. They're not. It's not a destination.

The damage they did this year with all the drama
and all the soap opera. Miller Petterson crap, Miller's gone done.
The damage was done when they had all the the
whole NHL was watching the drama. It wasn't good. I'll

I of course they are. They got money, and you
know some of these guys might or might not come here.
But Cody Glass, I want to get this in. The
Devils are thinking about qualifying him again. So don't be
surprised if Cody Glass goes back to the Devil's I
heard this morning that first they said, we're not going
to qualify yet. Now they're like, oh, why are we
letting the right shot center go? So Cody Glass might
be up in the air, but these are guys that

may the Canucks check in tomorrow morning. I got a
good feeling they're going.

uh Juwison is most likely gone, so is Brock Besser.

to move money for Besser. But if you don't, If
if you do a one or two year deal for Bester,

works on that every, practice and you, know just he
he handles himself with so much class and character that
the guys around him are drawn to. Him and you,

know he easily could have been the guy for us
last year at. Sixteen we just didn't want to put
that much pressure on. Him for the most, PART i
would prefer not to have a guy going into his
