Symptoms of a Struggling Business”
With Dr. John Oda, Amazon International Best-Selling Author & Master of Business Psychology. Most companies don’t have a business problem…
They have symptoms. Symptoms that whisper in boardrooms and scream in the silence of unmet potential.
When a business ignores its symptoms—just like the human body—it begins to break down.
You can’t scale long-term if the foundation is fractured. What are these silent killers?
✅ Leadership misalignment
✅ A toxic or confused culture (yes—the same culture principles that built Salesforce)
✅ Dysfunctional team dynamics
✅ And the one no one wants to talk about… Mental health in the workplace. These are not just issues—they’re diagnostics.
Indicators. Warnings. Flashing lights on the dashboard of your company. And the truth is:
You can’t scale what’s broken.
But you can transform what’s been exposed. In today’s episode, I’ll show you how to diagnose the real root… And give you the exact tools to turn these symptoms into your greatest breakthroughs. 🧠💼 Business isn’t just strategy.
It’s psychology.
It’s neuroscience.
It’s leadership at the deepest level.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, everybody, Welcome to the doctor johnal of the method
when neurosciences meet business mastery. Guys, thank you so much
for joining me today. I am completely jazz and pumped up, excited.
Thank you for us. This is morning time for your
evening time, afternoon night. Thank you, thank you, Thanks you
much appreciative. So something about me, so you guys know

(00:21):
who I am. I'm not just you know, a good
looking guy talking. So there goes something about me? Is
I get my PhD in uh in philosophy for research,
I got my NBA and entrepreneurship after thirty eight years
experience mental health, thirty years on business growth, working with

(00:41):
some of the most business titans, and with the thirty
eight years of mental health is clinical psychology.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
So I worked with the.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Teenagers for twenty three years, and then I worked with
the rest of the population. And I worked with some
of the most business titans in the world, like a
guy Anthony Robbins and the lay Chettholmes and Jay Abraham
and Josein McClinton, third business Masteret faculty from like Brendan
Burchhard Gary v We're talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
The list goes on.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
So it was a honor working with them, for those
guys for about partnership with them for almost ten years,
for almost a decade.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
So what I did was when I was working with
them is you guys know I have a lot of
mental health experience neuroscientists. Well, I'm a massive trainer what
we calls narrow lingualistic programming. So I created what we
call is the BSSM model, right, And this is the
model that I've grown all my companies, you know, from
you know in three years to twenty one, you know,

(01:43):
the average a group company.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Two hundred and eighty five percent.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Right, So the strategies out there and what we do
is a little bit different than the b system is
a model.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
We're not your architecture. I don't make it pretty drawing.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I'm not gonna make it pretty and say yeah, in
ten years ago you actually blow up what I do.
I'm more like the civil engineer. Look at your foundation,
look at your sidewalks, look at you the seword, look
at the highways, and make sure that your structure is firm.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Because in most businesses, you guys might not know this,
but every business that I've worked with have hidden, hidden revenues.
They have hidden assets and most of the times and
that's why I can get you know, growth inside the

(02:42):
business because they look at the bigger picture. Oh, let's
do this, let's do that, which is fine, but my
outcome is focused on the low higgen feud.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
What can I make now?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
How can I turn confusion into cash in ninety days?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Right? And as you guys realize that, you know this
is day number two.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Of course, I wrote a book called Unlimited Business Growth.
Lats of Guardian Present Unlimited Business Growth, how to trends
from your business and how to how to overcome mental barriers.
My number one goal is I want to put the
mental health part of it back inside the business, which

(03:23):
is really missing. So today we're gonna focus on the
name of the show is Identity, Behaviors, Leadership and Symptoms. Right,
And if you read my book, it's quadrant number two. Right,
And let me break break down the BSSM model. If

(03:43):
you didn't listen to number one that we had yesterday, right,
the beast end for the business foundation.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
What's the foundation of your business?

Speaker 1 (03:54):
If you know, if you can't go to a strong foundation,
you're not gonna grow really a business. And if so,
it's gonna be a business that's gonna be that's a term.
And this today when I'm working on the symptoms of
your business, Well, what are some symptoms? What are some
you know, some symptoms that we can overcome because you
don't break on If you don't work on the symptoms,
your business is not gonna grow. The other as to

(04:15):
systemize your business and then of course monetized. How do
I make some money from this whole concept. So when
I wrote the book, the book is fiction nonfiction. Uh,
the fiction part is my guy, Alan Private. I took
him from my very first book. I wrote a book
almost twenty years ago in nineteen year Bible, about nineteen
years ago, right, a guy named Alan Private, same name,

(04:37):
and at sixteen seventeen years old, he is in a rave,
doing drugs, not going to score, skipping the whole nine yards,
all right, he was in a ray.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
He killed somebody. Well, now I'm Alan Private's forty five
fifty years old and he's a billionaire.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yes, but here's a but here's some of the sad
parts of it. He got the same issues that he
did when he was sixteen seventeen years old. The biggest
differ and says they just change forms. He's still a monster.
People don't still want to work with him. He have
poor leadership skills and he have so many freaking symptoms
inside his business.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
He goes in his business.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
If you ever listen to everyone to a Tony Robinson program,
it's he focused on the Dixon process day number three.
I did the same concept in the book, right. He
went thirty years in the future. He saw himself becoming
a billionaire to homeless, and then he looked at the
other picture. He went from a billionaire to a sex tillion.

(05:33):
That was twenty one zeros. But he focused on He
on the book and focus on the doom and the
goom of the four quadrants. And the four quadrants is
the BSSM model, right, So that's what we actually focus
on today. We're gonna focus on, Okay, what is the
symptoms of your business? So the first thing I have

(05:54):
to say ask are you guys? So what type of
leader are you?

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Now?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Now there are three types of that we actually focus on.
And the person who did this chapter was one of
my mentors, Carl Scott.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I've been with him for geesus.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Man thirty forty years, almost thirty three thirty four years.
He trained me and them in Tellsfield. He was my
CEO to be truly animals you and my CEO. So
I have an honor of working with him. And he
did the chapter on leadership and crowd focused on there
is three types of leaders. So what he said, there's

(06:30):
a destructive leader, right, and a destructive leader to me
as a bibblehead, right, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
And then we have a neutral leader.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
He doesn't make it better, he doesn't make it worse,
but he's he's just there. And then we have an
effective leader. And effective leader fueled the company. The effective
leader crulled the company. So when I ask everybody, okay,
type of leader that they are, and that's what they
tell me, guys.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Of course effective.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But here's a sad thing about it.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
There's laying tempests and effective leaders. That's it, no more
and no less.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
And we break that down more inside the book, and
we'll break this down more about when we actually speak
about it, because if you have poor leadership, the whole
company's bad and you have to work on the leadership process.
There's about their three types of leaders, and we break
that down and then the book and and if we
ever do it one on one, I will break that

(07:35):
down to you as well. But the next one is
creating the right culture. So have you ever heard about
process called o'hanaway. So another one of my friends he
wrote this chapter's name doctor Conway. And doctor Conway have
a phenomenal background.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
He's a JD.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
He's a pH d, and he's a grand master and
temple ku u Jitsu and jiu jitsu.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
So he's a JD. He's an online pastor and he's
a j and then he's a lawyer and he's.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Also he does real estate in the state planning right,
So he wrote this concept called o'hanowey.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Now Salesforce uses Ohanowey.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
And you mentioned about the oh the the o'hanoway concept
as there's three types of people.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
There's a villain, uh, the the the victim and and
and the hero.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
He talks about your culture and he breaks down what
o'hanowey actually means. So we focus on, Okay, it's the
symptoms your team as the symtems your culture. Then we
focus on on the other part of the symptoms, team building.
How strong is your team? Is your team focused on

(08:57):
the values and the strength of the business. Is your
team working together is the manager's working together. It's a
top strong because if top is not strong, the bottom
is not going to be strong as well. So we
focus on the seven steps of a bid and a
strong team. And then, last but not least, another symptom
that we have is mental health. How are you dealing

(09:20):
with mental health at home? How are you dealing with
mental health and the workplace? You here, it goes, people
gonna have depression or or anger or schizophrenia.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
How do you do with that inside the workplace?

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Because as you guys realize, when Alvin didn't work on
his issues when he was a teenager, when he became
an adult, he had the same issues. It's just changed form.
And here's what I want you to think about in
your business. Think about your business, think about your company,
think about everything else. Is there some people who still
have the same issues that they had when they first

(09:56):
started the company? And I believe the they probably have
the same issues when it first started the company. They
probably have the same issues of that they have been
dealt with in a long period of time. The concept
is when you don't deal with those issues, they just
change forms.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Right now, I'm in the book. If you guys.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Now, if you guys very is once the book the
book would give you a free chapter, oh is of
the Book of Guilt. You go on my website is
doctor Johneralue dot com. We'll give you a free chapter
of the book, and if you buy the book, we'll
give you up to ten thousand dollars of online courses
for my five experts. Right, so, my biggest goal is
to get some feedback, gets some strategies and dash to
help you go your business. But not think about this.

(10:39):
Think about your business right now? Are you guys doing
with leadership issue? I went to one co this company
recently and I wanted to work for it's for him
and the lady l she grabbed me and I've been
knowing her for years. She says, doctor John, don't work
with this company at all.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I said, why the.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Company don't pay the company have porto leadership, X, Y
and Z, and I talked to him.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I'm like, oh my god. Yeah, it was just terrible.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
So right now, and we know that the cult is bad,
the leadership's bad, the team buildings.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Bad, and they got huge issues. Do you think that
this is a scale?

Speaker 1 (11:15):
No, Once you just step back and say, Okay, what areas?
What gaps do I need to close in my business?
Cause let me explain to you, if you don't close
these gaps in your business, your business might scale, but
it won't scale. It's not gonna scale at the level
that you wanted to scale, like, it's not gonna grow exponentially.

(11:37):
It's gonna grow to a certain point that it's gonna stop.
Why Cause the symptoms are gonna be so bad that
people are not gonna actually wanna actually take care of it,
and they're gonna quit. That's how most people quit. They
quit because of poor leadership. And what's that to me
a symptom? There's people been in jobs ten fifteen years
and they quit because they have a bad boss.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Right. Why because he's not an effective leader. He's probably
a distractive leader.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
And most companies don't work on the symptoms of the business.
So my number one goal in this, especially when you're
gonna scale your business right to a twenty and eighty
five percent, cutting your head and red is revenues. Even
if we tell even if we uncover every strategy and

(12:24):
every technique to actually grow your business, if you don't
work on these symptoms, your business is not gonna sustain
people are gonna blow out. You're gonna train these people
and they're gonna go somewhere else on the dollar that
you train them.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
So there it goes.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Now tomorrow we are going to go for dat number
three and the day umber three is we're gonna focus
on systemize. What area is working right and what areas
do we need to improve on to systemize your business?
Because which is b SSM model?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
This is the way? How how all you gotta find?
You know the hidden millions that's hidden inside your business?

Speaker 1 (13:06):
And some of you guys are making millions of dollars
of millions of dollars. Could you imagine if you're making
an extra three hundred percent extra inside your business because
of hidden revenues that you haven't seen. Because most people
want to be the architecture not the civil engineer. I

(13:27):
want to get my hands dirty. I want to figure
out what's going on. I want to uncover some stuff
so you can monetize and google business. Listen to me.
Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate it
and I'll be back.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
For day three. Day and day three is.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Systemized what's working inside your business? Until next time taking
in blessings by for now,
