Speaker 1 (00:01):
I was watching an episode of Dynasty. I'm sorry, I
can't even tell you. I caught it in the middle
of it, and I will can't even tell you what
season or episode it was, So I usually have more
efficient than that, but more important the show is in
the Dynasty Aftersills Dynasty too, but the Coolby's whole thing,

(00:21):
Lexus the Coolby, of course, that's why we're talking about this.
There's a scene between her and Dex Dexter, and it's
they're they're in her suite, you know, she's in a
like this satin nikeoun outfits and ensembles the eighties, and

(00:42):
they're fighting as they would do. And I was thinking,
you know, Dex Dexter was probably the only man other
than Blake that could really stand up to her and
make her kind of small in a weird way in
certain instances. So I say that with they're fighting, you know,

(01:08):
back and forth, and there's name calling, and she slaps him.
It's the eighties, folks, he slaps her back and his
franks I jumped. I had forgotten he had done that
and it and I'm thinking today that wouldn't even happen.

(01:28):
And there's there's a lot of shows from the seventies
and eighties and nineties where slaps they remember slapping in
back if the woman was a vixen or considered a villainous,
that it seemed okay right to hit back. But that's

(01:49):
not even, that's not even, that's just the beginning. I'm
watching this, and it is, and they she starts attacking him,
throwing shit. He's she and during this whole exchange, he's
kind of fighting her off, like he's like hitting her
over her. He's like just kind of she's lunging at him,
and they're rolling around and fighting, and at one point

(02:10):
she scratches his face and there's like two scratch on
his face and they stop, and it continues the more
it's Alexis just coming at him in that gpiece negligent
or whatever she's wearing, and he's fully dressed. He's like
in a jacket and jeans or whatever this whole thing,

(02:30):
and at some point the music gets louder and louder.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
It becomes his brother's orchestra music throws on the couch.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
We just I mean, it points to the stunt people
and the lighting and direction, and it always pretty good.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
And then somehow at some point.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
It gets passionate all of a sudden, it's like they've
been fighting and fighting and everything that's fighting. And he
grabs her and he starts kissing her real hard, and
they get to the ground and you're thinking about to
make love and he stops and she's like, we heard
Doe eyes with her.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Dex, what do you do?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
And he's like, I was, what's right, We're through whatever,
and he walks out. He's like, nobody owns Lexis, nobody
and she's and she's on the floor, pathetic, looking in
the floor, and he closed the door and he walks out,
and I was just thinking to myself, I'm like j

(03:33):
rd on Dallas and started chating on focon Crest. Neither
of them had scenes close to this Abby on Abby
On not slanting, did she, But there's a couple times
to try and make her look like she was not.
She didn't have the old the all of her hand
a couple of times. It made her vulnerable a couple
of times. But Alexis has happened to you several times

(03:54):
on the show, but this one particular stands out because
it's very much the old addicts, Like, you know, fighting
is the old love of the time between love and
hates and the fighting churns the passion, very romantic novel
esque that her sister in real life would write, Jackie Collins,
it was just it was a trip to watch this

(04:16):
with adult eyes from twenty twenty five, and I remember
seeing it back then as a teenager back in the
eighties or young adult. I mean, I gotta give over
the year it was and thinking back then, oh my god,
they kissed it all the stuff. But now I go,
that's just not good. He smacked a shit out of

(04:39):
her and one of the end part of that scene
and she.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
She got up.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I'm saying, this is just this is it's I mean,
dex And and Alexis didn't have a relationship. There was
love there and all and all that stuff. I don't
get that wrong. But the scene hits very ya I
said hits. It does hit very differently in twenty twenty
It just does. I don't know how to say it,

(05:03):
just it really does.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I just I was watching that. I thought, I want
to bring that up as we talk about these this episode. Well,
I'm not getting ready to do this episode. It's I
gotta talk about this when you watch scenes like that,
this is you the listener from those time periods? Are

(05:27):
you okay? Are you able to say it was that
time period?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
It was?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
It was all I mean, I get it, but can
you can you say that still now?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
And said okay? Can when you look at you, are
you just like that? No good?

Speaker 1 (05:41):
We just think we can't. We just that's just that's
not good anymore. Has your mind changed now and shifted?
That's what I think I'm gonna It's just like not
good and it's hard. It's a little hard to watch.
Can you are you able to sit and kind of
watch it go? That's the time period that they did

(06:03):
or are you like me a little a little a
little horrified a bit at this at the writing and
direction that they felt that was a way to like
to kind of display this passion in there or something.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I know.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, that's that's what we're talking about. I am James Jr.
And this is disatu to Colby's After Show. We have
lots of episodes. Check those out and I will talk
to you next time.
