Speaker 1 (00:02):
I wanna mention this scene because it is important and
it involves a callby which Alexus called me Hi, this
is Dynasty to leg the Calby's after show, and I'm
doing this thing on all the after shows. It's called Lewis.
It's a reoccurring mini series. It'll be throughout the series
(00:24):
called a nanomy of scene. Well, which just break down
cause I usually break down episodes or characters. We're gonna
do something even closer, breakdown scenes and like my reactions
to certain scenes, People tell me all the time, what
do you think about when that happened? Or isn't that
You think that's iconic? And you see people all the
time talk about different scenes, cause in soaps and shows,
(00:45):
the scenes are very important. This one I wanna mention.
It's from the Parents show of Dynasty, but it's such
an iconic scene the way they shot it, it just it
just when it's when Alexis wins quote unquote. It's a
season finale. So Blake and Crystal they come in their house.
(01:11):
They're standing in front of the long staircase goes to
the top and it has a landing on top. Ben
is there, Blake's brother who's just shady as f The
way they shot it was Alexis on top looking down
on them, announcing she owns everything, the house, the company,
(01:37):
she took over everything, having Blake and Lexis below her.
It was genius. It was like this, there was like here,
she was on her pedestal up there looking down. Then
finally when she started, she says, when she has the furs,
which completely is eighty and it's eighties opulence, and she
(02:03):
tosses the furs off the the balcony, off the landing
there and says, you know, take your take, your take
your junk and your blonde trap and got out of
my home. And he said, take this junk. It just
tosses it and you're a blonde trap and go to
my home. It's so insulting, it's so decadence, and it's
(02:28):
like that's what she got her revenge. Blake the hot head,
and which we have to realize Blake was always a
hot head when you think about it. On this show,
he was very much a hot head. Comes up the
stairs slowly, he can't believe what's happening. He's like, this
is not true. Denial hits in. Ben Holds. Alex holds
(02:53):
Crystal at the bottom of the stairs. He's smirking. He
loves seeing his brother taken down. Blake comes upstairs, No
I got and she's like, yes, it's all true, have
her right here. And it's so funny because I saw
a special when she talks about the way they made
the dress it's like a rap dress kind of whatever
it was, and the hat she had the paper clipped
(03:16):
in somehow, and there's kind of just laughing about that.
He goes. She pulls up this paper. It's like, it's
all right here, and he's like, I can't believe that,
and he's like, I'm gonna kill you. A many comes
in and Crystal's trying to get up there and Brend's
hold her down and he goes and she drops the
paper and the angle is so funny. He's choking. She's like, oh, Blake,
(03:40):
and he's choking her and his hands around her neck
are perfectly quafft hair. He's going in and that's how
it ends. It's soapy, it's dramatic, it was a little whatever.
It was good. It was like, now we knew Blake
couldn't Collexus then be on he show, but we didn't
(04:03):
know what was happening next see, like the well was
the real percussions were gonna be about it? Did we
chuck her out? And the very least that could happen
cause she'd be near death? Could he have remorse? I mean,
like anything could happen, right, But the scene itself was
so it is after several seasons of elections, feeling she
(04:24):
would try to get him as she finally gets it.
And it's one of the things that I appreciate is
when cause Blake wasn't he wasn't a villain, but he
was somebody powerful. And I noticed a lot of fans
I agree with them, will say sometimes it's nice to
(04:46):
see like those things fall to say, for this mos sake,
the villa power person be knocked off for a once
in a while and brought down, Cause then it's gonna
be fun to see. How how do you get back up?
You know? That's God, that's half the fun, right there's
how do you rebuild? When you see someone always win
(05:06):
all the time, it's boring, there's no interest. They keep
winning all the time. There's just there's just nothing. It's nothing.
So I actually get that, I get that completely. I'm like,
oh no, I understand that it's like it's nothing there.
So for me, I'm like, okay, that's really interesting. So
(05:31):
that's going on where I think it's just so uh,
it's it's yeah. But also to have some nice to
villain or the other antagonists win sometimes because you want
to go, oh no, now they're in charge. Oh my god,
(05:53):
they actually got it, like it worked. You want to
see You want to feel all that too, right, you
want to feel that and go oh and you still
want good to trump over evil. Of course, you want
good to win out or will out always right, of course,
but you once see that struggle. But the grayer the
area and the more even the playing field you can get.
(06:16):
Sometimes you win, you lose, you lose, you win, actually
makes for better drama, I think, and I'm and I
feel like that's evidenced in a lot of people when
I see their comments when they were just say I'm
tired of so and so. Always when they give people
up against them, they always lose. I understand if you're
a lead character in a show like Lexus and Blake were,
(06:39):
and of course you don't want to I mean, they
want to see them rich and powerful all that, but
you can still keep them on the show and keep
and you know, a good writing wall will still facilitate
all of that on some level. You know, you can
have them fall a bit. It's fine. So that's why
that's nice. See the original h that scene on Apparent show.
(07:02):
I loved it more nat me. It seems will be
interspersed throughout the throughout throughout the episodes. Just something new
I'm bringing to the after show. Uh, you're fresh here,
a little different. Thanks so much for listening to the
After Show and making it a hit for us here
on jael J Media. I really enjoy doing it. It's wonderful.
