Speaker 1 (00:01):
So in December two months actually two months from today,
I will have done this after show for three years.
And there was a small break in there where I
declared and I was done, and I was in that's
the crazy it at the beginning of this show. But

(00:21):
it was a short broad it was a short break.
But I started this show three years ago. That part's
of fact. In twenty twenty one December, I realized there's
one thing I have not talked about that's important to
the history of this particular show, Dynasty. To the Coolby's hello,

(00:45):
this is the after show. I'm James on Junior's jail.
J Media gets that out the way. So I was
watching on YouTube as I do sometimes. This is late
at night. I'm scrolling through and I went across some
Dynasty Introy videos and so I watched season one and

(01:09):
season two, and there are a couple of things I
was noticing in the titles. And then I hit one
video that said next up. And that's what brought me
to doing the show this episode today. I first, I
was gonna briefly tell you the two things that I noticed.

(01:31):
That was I just never really know their for him
all these years, just never really put together. But I
always talk about on this show. I talk about all
my after shows. I always talk about the even the
minutia little things that I noticed, details when they had
Stephen in the opening and when they had Fallon in

(01:52):
the opening. Through the course of the show, they became
asked the actors. Al Corley was first, then came Steve,
came Jack Coleman, Jack Coleman. At first it was Pamela

(02:12):
ste Martin is Fallon and then later Emma Sam's I
just never noticed. I never just knowes before. It's so
funny things you noticed later in the opening, the trailer,
in the in the trailers, in the intros, when they
show al Corley, he stands up and takes off his

(02:33):
bow tie kind of really furiously and kind of the
top of shirts open. They did that with Jack Coleman
when he came out of Steveward. I never really know
that before. I was like, oh, yeah, I guess they
said we're just gonna do the regular, just gonna worry
about it. Same thing with Emma and Pamela. Sue she's

(02:56):
in front of a three way mirror and she turns around
and her and on her on her chest. She's been
a red dress, and that's what they did with both
of them. Two. And if I'm correct and I've seen
this episode, correct, they this same thing for Amanda because
originally it was Captain Oxenberg and Carosilini came on. They

(03:18):
had the background of I think the Big Bend and
the river on Thames in the background, and it's just
her kind of looking down anything the same thing. I'm like,
oh my god, I just never never called that anyway.
Of course, you Love Walks had a second so the
opening reminds So then I'm watching and also I'm reminded

(03:40):
season six, episode six for those guys who don't even
know this or don't remember, Season six, episode six is
the introduction of the Colby's. So I was watching the opening,
you know, like and special appearances by and that opening

(04:01):
but they split with Alexis was the last one for
Original Dynasty with the helicopter over the beach of Los
Angeles coming in. That's the same opening they used in
the Koby's in dnsay to the Kobe's. I don't really
thought it knows that either. I'm like, wait a minute,
that's the they introduced the Kobe family, as it was

(04:24):
sable tossing that for ten. I love that, and Constance,
played by the gnematic innimbrable Barbara said when she opens
the doors to the front and just like stands there
in all her glory, that's all part of the first
season of the Kobe's opening. But but that, of course,

(04:44):
they switched to the Kobe's theme, which sounds similar to Dynasty,
but whatever, And I taught the theme. I think my
second episode of the show, you go all the way back,
I taught the whole theme of the show. So that's
kind of funny. But I never noticed that. I was like, oh, yeah,
so actually, so the Kolby's were introduced on season six,

(05:06):
how ironic sixty six, episode six of Dynasty, the parent show,
and that's what they're introduced. And I was like, that's right.
I forgot so I so I'm seeing that. I'm like,
as I'm doing this week's episode, I so now I've
mentioned it. Now I've mentioned this back when they did

(05:29):
great openings. First of all, to me, we just love
the openings. There were some there was it was sucase
Dynasty was still high in the ratings. It's just like,
it's just a funny that this was they really did.
They really wanted to spin off, and I just know
I've talked about the four other shows, but I always
just wonder if it had had taken off, because now
we have these all these franchises now, like the Law

(05:51):
and Order franchise, Carcopini Changs franchise. What if there was
a Dynasty there was Dynasty to the Kobe's Dynasty three,
like was what I want to say, the morale the
Moreles or Dynasty three to Demaux Dynasty three. You know,
it could have kept going. They could have could have

(06:13):
a whole night of Dynasties or a whole week of dynasties,
just because nowadays things are so different. So even the
reboot could have been Dynasty three, the Next Generation or something.
I mean, I don't I don't know. I you know,
I never thought they would bring back Dynasty, and they did,

(06:34):
honest CW in a very creative way, which I liked it.
Know everybody didn't like it. I liked it. So it's
not you should never ever ever say never, because Hollywood
likes to go back in time, it likes to look
at stuff. Never say I guess I'll never say never.
There could be a Kobe's show at some point, quite

(06:56):
a good could be me. Maybe one day I will
write it or something and put it out. I mean, like,
but seriously, I think there could be. I mean it's
not far finch. I've seen more obscure and more less
popular shows come back in some and forth or spin

(07:17):
offs or reboots or reimaginings. Right now, the Penguin is
just huge. Him who had guessed it has his own series.
It's not even a movie. It's from the movie Batman,
but it's like it's it's it's a critical acclaim. I
just read that Velma so Scooby Doo who had her

(07:38):
own series spin off It just cut cans off two
seasons but got two seasons. So just saying who's on
a Velma Wednesday is a big hit from Adam's family.
So like, you just never know, like what people. It
just takes someone who's a fan to go and has
money and resources and power and all stuff to go.

(07:59):
I want to put this in and you just never know.
I would love you about the Coolby's in some level.
I would love to. I would love to. I would
call Diasy three There's somethings or whatever. Dicey three, the
next generation. I just love it because all those kids
are growing. I would go for the kids. I think

(08:21):
already did a show on that already. But just anyway,
just just seeing the openings. I love that you can
discover new things about the show. But it's but if
you have but if you're a person going when they call,
if you didn't watch the Colby's or Walscars, you didn't
watch the Dynasy, I don't some folks didn't watch both shows.
I watched both shows, of course, But either way, if
you're just curious where it all began, go ahead and

(08:46):
cheer out episode six in season six. I'm James Jr.
We do. I have soap shows whenever I feel pretty well,
but I do usually try to do the soapsuds of course,
a lot of drama Fridays. Occasionally the rest of the
week there will be a show comes out here in

(09:07):
the air. We put out shows, not every week, but
we do our best. We do. But I hope you
if you haven't had chance, go back and listen to
the old episodes. You know, I've there's some gems back there.
So I some things, and I really I do I pick.
I'm like I'm like North. After show, I pick up
some of the smallest things and talk about it. They

(09:31):
see that talk about it. I'm James Lott Jr. I
will talk to you next time. Have good week.
