Piergiorgio Welby (Roma, 26 dicembre 1945 – Roma, 20 dicembre 2006) è stato un attivista, giornalista, politico, blogger, poeta e pittore italiano, impegnato per il riconoscimento legale del diritto al rifiuto dell’accanimento terapeutico in Italia e per il diritto all’eutanasia, nonché co-presidente dell’Associazione Luca Coscioni. Militante del Partito Radicale, Welby divenne noto nel 2006 quando, gravemente ammalato, nei suoi scritti chiese ripetutamente che venissero interrotte le cure che lo tenevano in vita.
