Speaker 1 (00:13):
Oh, what a privilege it is to be called sons
of God. And does not yet appear what we shall be,
but we do know based on the word of God,
the promises of God, every one of them, which of
course are yeay and a man. The Bible says that
when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for
we shall see him as he is. And everyone who

(00:34):
has this hope in him purifies himself even as he
is pure. We welcome you once again to this another

man commissioned by God to a man preach the Word
and be instant in season out of season, reprove rebuke

(01:22):
with all long suffering and doctrine. Because the time has
come a man that people do not want to hear
nor endure sound doctrine. But that is a man what
God has tasked us with, and we shall not a
man retract recoil from it. Amen, as God is our help. Amen.

(02:11):
We are again here to amen, preach and teach the
truth of the Living God. Amen. All right, today we
continue as we have been in our past few months,
as it is now, on this topic of God, government, Church,
and stay dealing with, Amen, the fact that the sovereign God,

(02:34):
King of having a King of glory range rules over
the kingdom of men. He is in charge of even
the governments of this world. Is God himself who has
ordained government. And despite the fact that, Amen, we can
see throughout history, and certainly we've shown it so far

(02:54):
in the Word of God, that governments have been hostile
Amen to the Church of Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, we know
we know we win upon this rock I build my church,
Jesus said, and the gates of al shall not prevail
against it. So let's take just a quick moment, Amen
to amen, acknowledge the Lord Father again, we thank you

(03:16):
for another day, your word, your truth, Amen, liberty that
we have in you, because of your shed blood and sacrifice.
You loosed us from the bonds of sin, from the
chains of darkness, from the grips of hell itself, and
we shall ever give you praise, glory and honor. The Lord.
We pray that your spirit will move within the hearts

(03:38):
of someone today, Lord, that someone will be set free
by the mighty power of your word and of your spirit. God,
be glorified in your people everywhere in Jesus Christ of
Calvaries name, we pray, Amen and Amen. All right, every
one loosed, Amen, everyone loosed. Amen Again. At first and foremost,

(04:03):
let me just say this, because we are today celebrating
in the United States of America, this day that has
been set aside fourth of July in the yeuro or
twenty twenty five, a man two hundred and forty nine
years of a man liberation for this nation. And we

(04:24):
are certainly blessed to be living in freedom and having
a man, the freedom and liberty as it is the
religious freedom, especially particularly for those of us in the church,
a man to a man, freely, worship, freely, come and
go a man, and be able to also disseminate the

(04:45):
Gospel with limited persecution as it was in the early
days of the Church. God has purpose and everything that
he's appointed, and he's appointed each and every one of
us for such a time as this, and the Bible
makes it clear to whom much is given, much is required.
And so we don't want to take this liberty, this

(05:06):
freedom that we have and enjoy in these United States
in these times for granted. We don't want to take
it for granted. Amen. Acts Chapter sixteen is where we're
going to be looking at today for our scripture a reference.
We just want to again point out, as we have
been how that, Amen, it is a man, God working

(05:32):
a man. In spite of the opposition of those who
would use the government, those who would be in the
government a man in their attempt to a man either
slow down, stifle, or altogether destroy the Church of the
Living God. And again we have the promise of God,
We have the word of God. We have the blessed

(05:53):
assurance knowing that a man, we are more than conquerors,
we are victorious. God always causes us to triumph, either
in life or death. It doesn't matter whether we live
or die, if we become martyrs, and that's really what
we are. We are martyrs for Jesus. And nevertheless, no
matter what the enemy a man will try to do,

(06:14):
will attempt to do. Amen, we win, Amen, we win.
I want to look again at the apostle Paul. We
certainly have already seen how that. I mean, he himself
was arrested by God and changed a man and converted
from being the number one enemy of the Church to

(06:34):
now on his way to being the number one emissary,
as it were, ambassador. Amen, especially to the gentiles. But
he's also preaching to the Jews and going into the synagogues,
just already on a missionary journeys. We're going to see

(06:54):
in Acts chapter sixteen, a man seeking to take the
Gospel to all the world. This is what Jesus commanded
his apostles to do. Go and all the world, preach
the Gospel to every creature, every one who believes and
is baptized will be saved. He that does not believe
will be condemned. And the Bible lets us know. Of course,

(07:16):
Jesus said these words, this is the condemnation. That light
has come into the world, and men would prefer the
darkness rather than the light. And because they prefer the
darkness rather than the light, this is why they are condemned.
God is not condemning people because they are sinners. We
are sinners by nature. We are born in saying, in

(07:37):
shape and in iniquolitie. We are condemned because of unbelief,
because of rebellion, because one would refuse the gift of God. Amen, reject, Amen,
the salvation that God has a man brought down from
heaven in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Amen.

(07:57):
So Paul, Amen again, now converted to being a man
as it were, Amen, the number one friend of the church,
now a man. He is now traveling with his companions
in chapter sixteen, and they come to a man a
city of Philippi. We're gonna pick it up in verse
number twelve, which the Bible tells us the city of Philippi,

(08:21):
which is chief part of Macedonia. And they were in
that city. The Bible says abiding certain days Verse thirteen.
And on the Sabbath, we went out of the city
by a riverside, where prayer was wont to be made,
and we sat down and spake unto the women which

(08:41):
resorted thither. And a certain woman named Lydia, a sella
of purple, of the city of thigh Tyra, which worshiped God,
heard us. Whose heart the Lord opened. That's very important
a man. No one can come except the Lord draw them.
So the Lord opens her heart. And the Bible says
it unto the things which was spoken of Paul, and

(09:03):
when she was baptized. And when you hear the word
and God works in your heart, God speaks to your heart.
Jesus said these words. Behold, I stand at the door
and knock. If any man open, I will come in
and sup with him. Amen. And so when the Lord
knocks at the door of your heart, Amen, we are
to open. You are to open any man. Any man

(09:23):
hear my voice, Amen, let him open, He said, I
will come in. So the Lord knocks at the door
for her heart. She pays attention to the word of
the Lord. She takes heed to the word of the Lord.
And then she was baptized and her household. God is
in the business of saving households. We saw well, whether

(09:44):
we didn't see, But if you go back just a
few chapters in the Book of the Acts, here in
chapter ten Cornelius, and it's entire household. Amen. We're also
brought into the faith when Peter was sent there a
man to preach the word of the Living God. So
it was with Lydia, a man. She was baptized her
whole household. And the Bible tells us she besought a

(10:09):
man us saying, if we have, if you have rather
judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into
my house and abide there. And she constrained us. So
now she's openly showing good hospitality, as all the saints
of God should do. Amen. And it came to past
verse sixteen. As we went to prayer, watch what happens,

(10:29):
a certain damn soul, young girl possessed with a spirit
of divination met us, which brought her masters much gained
by sooth saying or fortune telling, as it were the same.
This young lady followed paul in Us and cried, saying,

(10:50):
these men are the servants of the Most High God,
which show unto us the way of salvation, all of
that certainly true a man. And thus and this she
did rather by verse eighteen, this she did many days.
But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit,

(11:13):
I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ, to
come out of her. And he that is the spirit,
the spirit of divination, came out of her the same hour.
Now one would think that a young lady who has

(11:33):
been used by the devil, possessed by the devil, used
by other people, a man for the purpose of being
merchandised to make money off of her, a man condition,
as it were, being a man used by again the devil,
a demon, a spirit of divination. When she would be

(11:54):
set free, one would think that people would be glad
that the girl is loosed from her bonds. But the
Bible tells us verse nineteen, watch what happens. And when
her masters, those who were controlling her, those who were
using her, those who were making merchandise of her, when
they saw that the hope of their gains was gone,

(12:17):
they can no longer, in other words, make money off
of her. They caught Paul and Silas and drew them
into the marketplace unto the rulers. Now this word drew
means dragged. They physically dragged them into the marketplace. And

(12:40):
where did they take them onto the rulers. So now
they have been brought up before the government. Amen. So
the Bible says, they bring them to the magistrates Verse twenty.
This is all government now. So these people who have
you know, a vested entriests, or had rather a vested interests.

(13:02):
And amen, this girl being possessed of the devil. They
are so upset about losing their revenue sorcer revenue that
they drag Paul and barnabas Amen, Paul and Silas brother
into the marketplace. Amen, bring them to the magistrates and

(13:25):
say that these men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city.
And they teach customs which are not lawful for us
to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. Look what they say, Amen,
this this is not for us. These these men are
these men are Jews. This this stuff that they're preaching
and teaching, it's not for the Romans. Oh yes, it

(13:46):
is old contrya my friend. It is for jew gentile
bond and free black, white Asian Indian. It doesn't matter.
It's the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The liberating Word of
God is for all men to be loosed, those who
are demon possessed, bound by the devil living in the
darkness of this world. Amen. This is what this gospel

(14:09):
is all about. Liberation. But again, when people are making
merchandise of other people, of systems, when they have their
institutions of whatever it is, they don't like it if
the Gospel is a threat to them, if the Church
of Jesus Christ is a threat to them, And make

(14:29):
no mistake about it, there are people, there are industries,
there are institutions in this world right now. Do not
like the church and does not want the Church to
be effective, does not want the Church to do what
the Church is supposed to do. They will do whatever
they have to do. A man in the interests of
their revenue and the interests of their money, and the

(14:50):
interests of their personal gain, a man to hinder the church,
to stop the church, to marginalize the church, and even
to destroy the church. I mean, if they had the
ability to do so. Nevertheless, again that's not gonna happen. Amen.
And so the Bible says, these men being Jews. They
are troubling our city. They teach customs which are not

(15:13):
lawful for us to receive needs to observe being Romans.
And so the Bible says, the multitude rolls up together.
So they've now stirred up the people amen against Paul
and Silas and the magistrates. These are government officials. They
tore off their clothing and commanded to beat them. Now

(15:33):
they haven't even been the trial. What are the charges
I mean, other than what these men, if they have
not had a chance to defend themselves, speak on their
own behalf. But the apostles are taken and dragged into
the government a place of the center of the city,

(15:54):
so to speak. And instantly, as you know, we had
a mob of mentality going on here, they begin to
lay stripes on them. They begin to beat them Verse
twenty three. The box is when they had laid many
stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the

(16:17):
jailer to keep them safely, who, having received such a charge,
thrust them into the inner prison and made their feet
fast in the stock. So now Paul and Silas, just
for preaching the gospel, just for casting out devils. And
this is what Jesus said, by the way, and he

(16:37):
would give us the power to do, to cast out devils. Amen.
And he commissioned the church to go and do this. Amen,
so that what men can be liberated, so that men
can be loose, All men could be free, Amen, from
the bondage of sin, from the power of the darkness. Amen.
Light has come into the world. Amen, And there's no

(16:59):
need for man to be in darkness. Amen. And that's
what Jesus came to do. He came to set me
in free. And anyone can be set free. Anyone can
be loosed, a man from the shackles and from the
bondage of sin that has a man bound them. A man,
he whom the Son sets free, the Bible says Jesus said,

(17:20):
is free. Indeed, and time after time, again and again
a man. Those who oppose the good news of Jesus Christ,
those who oppose a man the gospel message, those who
oppose freedom from bondage a man, they continue to come
after the messengers of liberty and salvation. And that's who

(17:43):
we are, with the preachers, true preachers, true ministers, Amen
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are messengers of
liberty and salvation. We are ambassadors for Christ. Amen, we
are ambassadors a man and for the souls of men
to be again liberated. Amen. And and and and and

(18:05):
and Based upon this particular attempt a man by these
haters of the liberating gospel of Jesus Christ, they were
completely I mean they were they were upset. They were
really upset about their money. Amen. And and again, if
we what you think about, if the Church was really
liberating people from drug addiction, from alcoholism, a man from

(18:31):
sexual uh dependency, from all of these vices and all
of these things that people use others to make merchandise
of them, if prostitutes were wiped off of the streets
and in the house of God, I mean all kinds
of industries and people, a man benefit financially, a man

(18:55):
from people being in bondage, people being loose I mean
a chained up and not loose or set free, a
man from all of these vices. But again, Jesus came
for the express purpose of loosing us amen, from the bonds,
from the change from the shackles a man of sin, Amen,

(19:17):
and death. That's that, that's that's ultimately awaiting, because that's
the wages of sin. The wages of sin is death.
God wants people's eyes open, their ears attentive, Amen, and
them amen again loosed from their bonds. Amen. And so

(19:37):
what happens here, what we're going to see and just
a moment, is with this attempt by these who amen,
were so upset about their loss, Amen, about the liberating
power of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not
only was the young woman h loose from the demonding

(20:00):
power that had been possessing her for however long, but
as we're going to see, all of the prisoners were
loosed from their bonds, and all of them witnessed and
experienced got a taste of the liberating power of God,

(20:22):
the liberating power of the Holy Ghost, Amen, the spirit
of a living God that sets men free, and the
keeper of the prisoners we're all going to see and
his whole household. Amen, we're also again loosed once again,
even when the sworn enemies of the church attempt to

(20:45):
stifle the messengers, attempt to interfere with what God is predetermined,
what God has a man already decreed. And I mean, listen,
it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. You can stop, you
can hinder, you can stifle. I mean Satan. The Bible

(21:05):
speaks of it. Paul asked for prayer, he said, and
he had intentions of going here there, but Satan hindered us.
And he always prayed, for example, that the word of
the Lord would have free course. Pray for Pray for
me that I will have boldness. So forth and so on.
We know that we have opposition a man, we know
that there will be opposition. That's okay. God knows that.

(21:27):
But God wants to and he does show himself strong
on our behalf. And even in death, even in imprisonment,
even in persecution, we still love victorious. Amen, because God
has made us victorious. And again he has predetermined that
whatever the enemy means for evil, God has already meant

(21:51):
it for good. Amen. So don't don't. We are not
to live in fear. We're not to live in doubt,
with not to live in unbelief. Amen. We'll not to
a man anxious a man about what the enemy would
try to do a man. All things work together for
the good for them that love the Lord, to them
who are the called according to His purpose. Now here's

(22:13):
the rest of the story A man with Paul. Insiders
go down to verse twenty five. And at midnight now
here these men are thrust into prison, beaten, put in
shackles and chains and bonds. Amen. But at midnight they
got the right spirit, they got the right attitude. They
are serving the truth and the living God. They are

(22:33):
a man. And Paul, by the way, had already been
prepared for this, a man from the day of his conversion,
if you remember, already a man. When God arrested him,
ay man, he told him how much he would suffer
for his namesake. And Paul would later write about glorying
in afflictions, glorying in all of these things, and he said,
I will endure all things for the elect's sake, that

(22:55):
they may obtain this salvation which is in Christ Jesus.
And so Amen, Paul and Silas. Amen. Even though they
were mistreated, as we'll see, Amen, even though they were
not afforded an opportunity to defend themselves, to speak on
their behalf. And by the way, Roman citizens, which of

(23:17):
course they had rights. Amen. But nevertheless, it matters if
you got the right attitude, Amen, No matter what circumstance
you find yourself in. So in the midst of a
dark dungeon, no doubt, Philippian jail. Amen, at midnight, the
Bible says, Paul and Silas prayed and saying praises unto God.

(23:44):
And listen what happened, The Bible says, the prisoners heard them,
and suddenly verse twenty six, Oh my God, Oh God
knows how. God knows how, he knows how, he knows
how to come wherever you are, Amen, Look what happened.
Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations

(24:05):
of the prison were shaken. And immediately, watch what happens.
All the doors were open. Now you remember with Peter,
a man, when Peter was put in prison, the night
before he was to be executed, the angel came in
and only opened the door, as it were, for Peter,
Amen to go out. And it didn't free everyone else

(24:27):
who perhaps may have been in prison. But in this case,
everyone is loosed. Look, oh, I love it. Everyone is loose.
That's what God wants. He wants you and I all
men everywhere to be loosed. A man and so the
Bible tells us, when Paul in silence began to pray

(24:49):
and sing praises to God. There was a great earthquake.
All the doors were open, and everyone's bands were loosed,
and the keeper of the prison woke up out of
his sleep, and the Bible says he saw the prison
doors open, and he took out his sword and was

(25:10):
in the process of committing suicide. The Bible said, he
was going to kill himself because he thought that the
prisoners had escaped and on his watch. Amen. That's a
death sentence. Amen. And so the Bible you remember again
with Peter, when herod examined the keepers of the jail

(25:32):
of the prison where Peter was being held and determined
that they had been derelict, as it were, at least
from his perspective, from the human perspective, in their duty
to guard Peter. Amen, he had them put to death.
So this was a death sentence of sorts if you
were a man the responsible party for guarding prisoners and

(25:55):
they escaped on your watch. Amen. So he drew out
his sword and he was about to kill. But the
Bible says Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, do
thyself no harm, for we are all here. No one listen.
Everybody was loose, but nobody ran away. Oh my God,

(26:17):
I mean, I can ah the power of God in
that place. I mean what, I would love to know
what happened with all of the rest of these prisoners.
If I would love to know. Luke doesn't tell us, Amen,
what happened with all the rest of these prisoners. But
the Bible tells us this. They heard Paul and Silas praying.

(26:39):
They heard Paul and Silas a man of singing praises
to God. And they experienced the shaking, They experienced the
doors being opened. They experienced, Amen, their shackles and chains
and bonds being broken off of them, and they were

(26:59):
all loosed and set free. And they could have escaped,
but they didn't. Now why did they not escape? Was it?
Could it be that they had also been converted? I'm
talking about real freedom, real liberty. Amen. Amen. Again, he
whom the Son sets free is free. Indeed, so I

(27:23):
would like to believe that because of this experience, because
they were in the presence of two of God's a
man mighty apostles, servants of the Most High God, and
the fear of God, I believe fell also in that place, Amen,
And so they were all their apostle Oh to the
Philippi and jail or do yourself no harm. Everybody is

(27:47):
still here. Nobody has escaped, but everybody is free. Oh
my God, help us Jesus, oh man, we don't have
Oh my God, thank you Lord. Amen. And so the
Bible says he called for a light and sprang in
and came trembling and fell down before Paul and Silas

(28:11):
and brought them out and said, sirge oh, I love this,
I love this. What must I do to be saved? Lord,
have mercy? What must I do to be saved? And
they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou

(28:32):
shalt be saved. And thy house amen. And so the
rest of the story is that he took them to
his house. Amen. He and his whole house was baptized.
And God had a purpose. And and of course Paul
and Silence were the next day freed and and and

(28:54):
set set free. And and of course they discovered that
Paul and Silace were Roman and citizens, and they should
have not been mistreated this way, all hastily. But again,
that's how the devil is, That's how the enemies of
the Cross are. They don't think and irrational. Amen. And
so Amen. Nevertheless, God gets the glory. God gets victory.

(29:19):
Even though paul Insilas were mistreated, they were beaten, they
were thrust in jail. Amen. And God had a purpose
in it, that Philippian jailer and everyone else in that prison.
I pray, I believe. I believe that these not only
loose from their physical shackles, but loose from the bondage

(29:39):
of sin his whole house. God had a purpose. Hey,
God had a purpose in that. And so I would,
I would, I would, I would. I would certainly implore
all of us, especially on this particular day, this day
of the fourth of July twenty twenty five, and the
year of our Lord, on this occasion of celebrating Amen

(30:00):
in the United States of America, a man, the freedom
that we have, the liberty that we have, a man,
the blessing that we have the privilege that we have
to enjoy freedom like northern nation on this earth. I
would implore us as believers, especially and particularly those of
us who are citizens of this nation, and more importantly,

(30:24):
though citizens of the heavens of the Kingdom. That's where
our true and ultimate citizenship is. A man, we should
be more thankful all the more thankful, all the more grateful, Amen,
And mindful of this liberty a man wherewith we have
been set free, wherein we have a man ability, a

(30:48):
man to openly worship, freely share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen,
the good news that liberates and sets men free. Am.
May not always be this way, For the Church may
not always be this way in the United States of America.
We don't know, Amen, And we should not be ignorant

(31:08):
of the adversary and his willing vessels who hate the Church,
and who are actively actively even as I speak, they
are actively seeking, just as their fathers did. Amen, to
overthrow what God has purpose, what God has decreed, what
God is Amen. Amen, set forth in his eternal salvation

(31:33):
plan a man to redeem the souls of lost and
wayward man. Amen, let us not be ignorant of Satan's devices.
The children of the devil a man. They seek the
destruction of the Church. They seek to silence the preacher
of the truth. Amen. And they work tirelessly night and day.

(31:56):
They don't sleep, they don't rest Amen, until Eve has
been performed by them. And they are working hand in
hand with willing government. Amen. Officials who are of the
same mindset. And as it was with the enemies of
the early Church, as we just saw another example of this. Amen,

(32:17):
and they all of course fell miserably a man to
stop the church, to destroy the church. Amen. These in
our day, make no mistake about it, we'll also be
relegated to the same fate of failure in their futility.
And again we've already seen throughout the a man the

(32:38):
pages of scripture, Old Testament, and knew Amen that those
who insist upon opposing the will of God. Amen, they
are seeking, they're bringing about, as it were, their own demise.
And please understand we never should forget this, that God
is sovereign over all of the affairs of all men,
of all nations at all times. Amen. And what He

(33:01):
is decreed to come to pass, it shall come to pass. Amen.
Jesus again said it, I'm on this rock, I'm building
my church. The gates of hell shall not prevail. We win,
ladies and gentlemen. We have victorious in life and death,
and persecution and distress and tribulation. No matter. Amen, we
still win. Jesus told us, in this world, you're going

(33:22):
to have tribulation you're going to have persecution, You're going
to God didn't hide that from us, and thank God
he didn't. And nevertheless we again are triumphant, We are victorious. Amen.
It cannot be thwarted by mere mortal man. Amen. Again,

(33:42):
these who have their very existence by the way and
the very Creator, Amen, whom they are rebelling against, they
would be wise to bow their knees now and willing
submission to the King of king and to the Lord
of Lords. They would be wise now to a man

(34:05):
come in repentance, a man to turn from their wicked ways, Amen,
and do it of their will now with a broken
heart and a contrite spirit, rather than to have their
knees broken by the Lord himself. You do not want, amen,

(34:35):
the wrath of God on you. And the Bible tells us,
by the way, the Lord is angry with the wicked
every day a man. It's the mercy of God. It's
the compassion of God, is the long suffering of God.
It doesn't bring judgment upon men and allow them to
even continue in their blasphemy and obstinacy against the God

(34:56):
of Heaven. Amen. It's the goodness of God. The Bible
says leads us to repentance. But the arms of the
wicked will be broken. I mean, every need is going
to bow and every tongue is going to confess that
Jesus to Christ is Lord. So let us, as the
people of God, as ambassadors of Christ, be bold, be confident,

(35:18):
be assured. Amen that Amen, God has come and he
is yet now. And this is our prayer loosing men
from their bonds. So on this independence day, let us
pray that God will set men free everywhere, because again

(35:42):
he whom the Son sets free is free. Indeed, God
be glorified in Jesus' name. God bless you. Amen.
