(01:40):
go to Romans chapter thirteen on today. So if you
have your bibles, please, by all means follow along with
us from the word of the Lord. And before we begin,
as always, just take a moment to a man acknowledge
the Lord. Father. Again, we thank you. We are grateful
to you for all of your benefits and blessings that
you bestowed upon us. We can do nothing without you
apart from you, So help us today speak your word, Amen,
(02:04):
through our hearts and minds. O God, let us be
listening doing Amen, not forgetful, but doers of the Word,
that we may be blessed. Thereby open someone's eyes ears heart, Amen,
to believe, to know that you are the children to
live in God. And there is none els beside the
be glorified in your people everywhere. It's in the name
(02:25):
of Jesus Christ. We praying your thanks, Amen, and a
man all right, God Government, that's our focus today, God Government. Amen.
Romans chapter number thirteen. So if you have your bibles, Amen,
we're going to be reading here just the moment of
Romans chapter thirteen. But again we've stressed throughout this Amen,
(02:46):
series on God, Government, Church, and state that God is sovereign,
He reigns, he rules, and we're certainly going to reemphasize
it again. Amen. So that we as to people of God,
need not be troubled. Amen. As we live in this
world need not be disturbed or confused, feel forsaken, discouraged
(03:07):
a man based upon a man, the happenings, the news events. Amen.
We should have no fear of man. What can man
do unto us? Amen? Is Amen? What the Psalm is declared,
I shall not fear what can man do unto me? Amen?
And we are already Amen. The Bible says, counted as
(03:30):
sheep for the slaughter. Amen. Our lives no longer belong
to us. Amen. And so we have yielded ourselves over
to the Lord. And it is a man, his life
that now is in us. And the life as Apostle
Paul said that I now live, is the Christ that
lives in me. Amen. And so we've yielded ourselves over
(03:53):
to the Lord. And we trust him Amen, to keep us,
to guide us, direct us, protect us as only he
can do by his mighty power. Romans, Chapter thirteen. God
governments all of the governments of this world belong to God. Amen. Romans,
Chapter thirteen, beginn at verse number one. Let ever resoul
(04:15):
be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no
authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are
appointed by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the
(04:36):
ordinance of God. And those who resist will bring judgment
on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works,
but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of
the authority? Do what is good, and you will have
praise from the same, For he is God ministered to
(05:00):
you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid,
for he does not bear the sword in vain, for
he is God's minister and avenger to execute wrath on
him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not
only because of wrath, but also for conscience sake, For
(05:23):
because of this you also pay taxes. But they are
God ministers, attending continually to this very thing. Render verse
number seven. Therefore, to all their due taxes, to whom
taxes adue, customs, to whom customs fear, to whom fear honor,
(05:47):
to whom honor Amen. Romans, Chapter thirteen, Verses one, through seven. Again,
I want to reemphasize this that all governments in and
of this world are Gods governments, all of them, all
of them. This is a biblical truth that is very
difficult for some in the Church to comprehend or for
(06:09):
some of us, many of us maybe perhaps to reconcile
in our minds a man. And the trouble with us
reconciling this truth, for I guess for many of us
in our minds, is because we have a limited view
of the sovereignty of God and when the governments exist
(06:29):
that do not align, which, by the way, the vast
majority of if not all of them, really in reality,
are not governments that are a man, God fearing, a
man following the law of God governments. These are not
the kinds of governments that we have in our world.
(06:50):
And there certainly have been noteworthy leaders throughout history a
man throughout world history who have a man and God
fearing Amen, Uh, and and UH sought to promote Amen,
the good of of of and the welfare of the people. Amen,
(07:12):
by doing what is right. Amen. And all men are,
by the way, are commanded to do that. Amen. Micah
Chapter six. The Lord has showed you a man. What
is good? What God requires of all of us is righteousness,
is justice. Amen, the treach and neighbor right. Amen, and
walk in the fear of God. Uh. These these things
(07:32):
are duty bound to all of us. And so again
we are troubled in our minds, many of us, because
we can't reconcile in our minds that how can this
government be of God when it is a lawless, ru
ruthless I mean ungodly government, and I mean what we
(07:55):
must again keep in mind, we live in a falling world.
That's number one. We're all sinners by nature, falling from
a man and exchanged from God. Now, not only are
we falling and extrained from God, we are running away
from Him. Again. I take you back to Psalm number two.
(08:16):
I'm not gonna go there and read it today, but
we've dealt with that Psalm A Man several times throughout
this a man. The kingdoms of this world are aligned
against God. They are at odds a man with the
rule of God. They don't want the rule of God.
And so a man. Even though they don't want God
(08:38):
to rule over them, yet he does, because the scripture
tells us. He says, Yet I have set my Holy King,
my King, King Jesus, a man on high. He's over
the nations, All of creation belongs to him, All things
exist by him. He is before all things a man,
and so whether they acknowledge him or not, he is king,
(09:04):
he is Lord, and he is sovereignly reigning and ruling
in the Kingdom of Men. And we showed you by
the way again. For those of you who may not
have heard or remembered a man from Daniel chapter number four.
It is one of the most powerful kings, if not
the most powerful king that ever lived on this planet.
A man came to understand and to know that God
(09:26):
rules in the Kingdom of Men. Amen. He is intimately
involved in the affairs of this world. And so what
we just read in Romans, I believe the command is
simple and it is straightforward. Amen. We are to be
in subjection to the governing authorities, the governing and authorities
(09:47):
that exists. They have been, They are ordained by God
a man, they are appointed by God. Amen. They exist
because of God. God is the word one who a man,
if you will create it, spoke and or commanded government
(10:09):
in this world. And for those who resist the authority,
the Bible tells us here, you are resisting what God
has ordained. You are resisting what God has appointed a man.
And those who resist the God ordained authority, they are
in danger of bringing judgment upon themselves. And we're talking
(10:30):
about the judgment first and foremost from the governing authorities.
And that's why the scriptures tell us here Romans thirteen,
you should be afraid if you are a rebel, if
you are in resistance, if you are a non law abiding,
if you will citizen, you're in danger of bringing judgment
(10:50):
upon yourselves. Amen. Because they bear not the sword in
vain God has given them, And the Bible tells us
here they are minister. Amen, for good. And again we
know we know, we know that all governments, most governments,
perhaps even many would argue, are not good. And we
know that there have been rogue rulers. There are rogue rulers.
(11:13):
Now we've talked about that at nauseum. But the Bible,
the command here is crystal clear. A man that we
are to obey, a man, we are to abide by
the laws of the land. Amen. The governing authorities. Amen.
Now there are exceptions two two exceptions to this two
(11:38):
and only two exceptions to this. We obey God, the
Bible tells us, rather than man. When we are commanded
by man, listen carefully to disobey the law of God.
Number One, whenever we are commanded by man, ordered by man,
(12:00):
if man institute, if they were to institute a law,
put forth a decree that violates the law of God,
that has us to disobey the law of God, we
are to obey God rather than man. Number Two, If
we are ordered by man to refrain from obeying God,
(12:27):
we are to obey God rather than man. Now where
do we find a crystal clear example of this? Of course,
the acts of the apostles. We've already talked about this.
When Peter and the apostles who were commanded not to
preach or teach anymore in the name of Jesus, that's
a violation of what they were commanded to do. That's
a violation of prohibition against the whole mission of the Church.
(12:49):
A man go and preach the Gospel to every creature.
So if any governing ruler authority a man commands a man,
the people of God, the Church of God, amen to
not preach, not teach, not speak in the name of Jesus. Amen,
they are a man, commanding, decreeing whatever us to disobey
(13:15):
what God has commanded us to do. So. Number one,
if you are commanded by man, these are the exceptions
to do something to break the law of God. We
are not to obey man. If man has us to
(13:37):
refrain from doing what God has commanded us to do,
we are disobeying the law of God. And we are
to obey God again in these two instances, rather than
man a man. Otherwise, we have been commanded by God himself,
a man, to comply with the government authorities, the authorities
(14:01):
that He has again appointed for good, for our good, Amen,
in order to maintain law and order. Amen. Again, we
live in a falling world and we need government. We
need good government. And of course again we understand we
should understand this, and this again a problem with too
(14:21):
many people in the church when you don't, when we
just don't want to a man believe what the Bible teaches. Amen,
This is where we come into problems. There will never
be a perfect and corrupt free government in this falling world. Never, never,
(14:45):
It's not gonna happen. Amen. We will not have a
perfect government in this world until Jesus comes back to
set up his millennial kingdom here on this earth. Until then,
we are going to be dealing with falling, frail, fragile men,
(15:08):
corrupt men, sinners, all of us by nature are sinners
by nature. Amen. And again, I mean that's what we
have to deal with. That's the world we live in. Amen.
God furthermore commands us by the way to pray for
those who are in authority. That's that's that's that's that's
(15:29):
a biblical command that we are to pray for kings
and rulers, all that are in authority. The Bible tells
us that we may lead a peaceable life. Amen. Again,
while we are in this world, we are not here
to save the world. We're not here to save this
world system. Amen. This this, this fall Babylon has fallen. Babylon,
(15:51):
which represents this world system, the Bible says, has fallen
already been judged. We're not here to save the world,
the world system. Amen. This world system has been condemned
by God. Now is the judgment upon this world. Jesus said. Now,
now what is Jesus going to do? Did he come
to save the world. No, he came to save men.
(16:12):
Out of the world people. That's who the church is.
Out of the world, called out, called out, called out,
that's who we are. So we are as long as
we are here, a man, as the Church of the
Living God. We have to be the salt, the light,
a man, that city set up on a hill, a
man in the world, but out of the world, of course,
a man. And we are to be difference makers. While
(16:35):
we are here, I mean we are strangers and pilgrims.
Pilgrims here a man. We're on a pilgrimage. We're on
a journey. Our destination is to be more and more
like Jesus. Our destination is not heaven. Our destination is
to be more and more like Jesus, to be conformed
into the image of his son. That's what our destination is.
(16:55):
Destination Jesus. If you are like Jesus, guess what heaven is.
Show in amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen. All right, So
let's let's let's let's let's bring this to a close
here as the Church of the Living God. Again, it's
vitally impart of us to understand this, that God, the sovereign, ruler,
(17:21):
King of kings, creator of this world. Amen. And because Amen,
he is sovereign, and because he is reigning and because
he's ruling, we don't need to fear operating and cooperating
with the governments of this fallen world. And of course, again,
as I said before, we have people, groups and factions
(17:44):
in the Church who do not believe, amen, that the
Church of God has any place whatsoever within governments. But
we know from the biblical texts, of the scriptures, of
the Word of God, in the Word of God a man,
from literally cover to cover, that this is erroneous theology
(18:11):
about God and his intimate and intentional involvement in the
affairs of this world, which again, by the way, this
world belongs to him. God is not giving this world
over a man, as if he's aloof, as if he's absent,
as if he is uncaring about you know what happens
(18:35):
with us in this world. If God only came a
man to save us and to take us out of
here and leave the world. No he's not. He's not. No, no, no, no, no,
New Heaven, new Earth, wherein dwells righteousness, God is sovereignly
reigning and ruling. And again a man. We know from
the biblical text and from history a man that God
(18:57):
has a man always been in intimately and intentionally involved
Amen in the affairs of this world. For example, again,
we've already covered many of these, if not all of
these individuals Amen in our previous podcasts talking about this God, government, church,
(19:18):
and state. Amen. You have Joseph, you have a Moses,
you have a Daniel along with his Amen God fearing companions.
You had Mordecai and esther Nea, Maia and many others
a man. All of these individuals, now these were just
the people of God. We're not even talking about Amen,
(19:41):
which again we talked about others, whether they were compliant
a non compliant. Again, for example, Pharaoh, the Lord said,
even for this same purpose, if I raised you up,
that I might show my powering you, and MY name
might be declared throughout all the earth, whether if you
comply or not, whether you are obedient or not, whether
(20:04):
you are a child of God or not. God's will
can and will be done through you, even when you
are rebelling against God in the highest seats of authority
and power. But there again are plenty of examples of
individuals again afore named here Joseph, Moses, Daniel, Shaddy, Shake,
(20:28):
been to go these individuals neel Mayah Esther Mordecai, these
individuals God raised up placed strategically in a man places
of power of influence, in order to again see to
it that his purpose, his predestined plan of redemption, is
(20:53):
carried out and carried forth. If you will so again,
the Church, we need not live in fear of the
governments of this world, even when again, when the government
itself is an agent of persecution. And by the way,
the apostle Paul who wrote this lived on a tyrannical
(21:14):
Roman government, one of perhaps the most brutal of all
of the Roman leaders in history, Nero, who, by the way,
is the one we believe that had the postle Paul beheaded.
And yet Paul says, pray for these people. Yet Paul commands, Amen,
(21:35):
by the word of the Lord, that we are to
obey these that are an authority, these that are rulers,
these and these kinds of governments, we the Church, the
people of God, are to comply. Again, there are only
two exceptions to this. Whenever we are commanded a man
to do something that God prohibits us from doing, or
(21:55):
we are commanded to refrain from doing what God has
a man called us appointed us, commanded us to do. Amen.
Other than that, even if you and I are living
under a And again, by the way the Bible says,
when the righteous rule, the people rejoice. But when the
(22:18):
wicked in power, when the wicked are in power, the
people grown. Yes, yes, yes, the people grown when the
wicked are in power. And there will be times and seasons. Amen.
We've even in our free, western supposedly culture, western civilization
that many of us enjoy certain freedoms and religious liberties,
(22:42):
and particularly here in America. So forth we have had
right here in America. Amen, rogue rulers who hate the Church,
hate the name of Jesus Christ, have persecuted the Church, persecuted,
and they are still there are still many of them
in places of positions of power right now. Amen. Anti God,
(23:03):
anti church, Amen, and not anti religion. If I said
before that these, hey, these people not anti religion. They
are anti Jesus, they are anti God, they are anti
the True Church of the Living God. Amen. And so
even when the government itself is an agent of persecution. Amen,
(23:29):
we must not become weary and well doing. Amen. We
are not to lose hope. We're not to lose heart.
We're not to feign in adversity. Amen. We are not
to stumble at the promises of God, at the word
of God. Amen. But amen, rather trust that whether we
(23:50):
are living under amen, a government of a government of
oppression and persecution, or a government of relative peace and prosperity,
either way, either way, Amen, all governments are God's governments.
(24:12):
And He is sovereign, and he is reigning, and he
is ruling, and his will and his purposes and what
he is to creed and what he has spoken is
coming to pass, and he will work it through wicked rulers.
Even again, We've talked about this, even though they are
(24:34):
unaware that they are fulfilling the word of God. So
let's believe God. Let's trust God. Let's stand on his word.
Let's stand on his promises, because God cannot lie. Father Again,
thank you for your word, Thank you for your promises.
Thank you for this blessed hope we have in you.
Thank you for Amen, even the rulers, a man of
(24:57):
this world, a man that you have permitted it to
occupy seats of power and authority. That we pray that
your will will be done. That we pray for amen,
the peace and prosperity of your people everywhere. Open doors,
of course, that no one can shut. Shut the doors
that no one can open. Your will be done in
us and through us. It's in Jesus' name we pray gift. Thanks,
(25:19):
Amen and amen,
