But first... I want to speak about “giving yourself grace”. If you’re like me, you’ve heard someone say this too many times. But what does it really mean? How do you give yourself grace when it’s so much easier to critique yourself and think of all the things you “shoulda and coulda” done? I’ve been there, done that. Once upon a time, I felt as if I had to keep going on and keep coming up with the next thing and the next thing and would look back on what I’d done and say it wasn’t enough, even when others around me would often say how great of a job that I’d done.
So, let me help you not go through that. Today, I’m going to share some lessons learned in my 5 Ways to EnergizeHER by giving yourself grace:
[3:21] Identify at least ONE thing that you’ve done good and literally give yourself a pat on the back. Oftentimes, we can say we did a good job, but when you put physical action into it, it feels more real.
[4:26] Use positive affirmations the right way - morning, noon and night. I often say that you should AFFIRM you or the world will FORM you.
[5:36] Learn how to accept compliments. This is for my ladies who have a hard time accepting a good, positive word from others.
[6:54] Stop being your worst critic. In a world where others are waiting to critique and criticize your every move, let that be their job. You are not getting paid nor moving forward in life by talking down about all of the amazing things you are doing in life.
[8:34] Know your worth! In every aspect of life, you must know your worth - in relationships, in careers, in your home, in your business and in society.
