Speaker 1 (00:02):
The holidays are such a special time to gather with
the family, and one of my family's favorite things to
do is watch movies.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
We love going to the movies.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
We love sitting in front of our television and watching
Christmas movies and TV shows together and joining me now
to talk all about some of the fun holiday festivities.
We're going to keep this holiday festivities rolling on as
long as we can. Is Chris Brooker and Channing Brooker,
my husband and my daughter. Hello, Hello, Hello, how is
your Christmas?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Super awesome sauce with the cherry on.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Top of amazing? So good?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
It always is good.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I'm so glad to hear that. Okay, So we do
love to watch movies a lot in our family. What
would you say is your favorite movie to watch around
the holidays?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Chris? What about you?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (00:46):
You know, there's all the standards. Elf is a really
good one. We always start the season with Elf. This
year we introduced Channing to die Hard. Yes, for the
Christmas movie, the contentious die Hard. What do you think
a Christmas movie?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
It is technically a Christmas movie, the writer said so himself.
So I thought it was really good. I like the
action in it.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
You did you didn't think it was a little because
I was worried it might be a little too bloody,
and there's, you know, like some darker themes in it.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
It's cool. I'm I'm I go to public schools.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I know you do. I know you do.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
My personal favorite Christmas movie, it's a little bit controversial,
but Nightmare before Christmas.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Now here's the thing.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yeah, it is a Halloween but also Christmas movie. That's
why my drama teacher said so herself. It's allowed for
both holidays, Halloween holidays holidays.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, I agree. I think you can watch Nightmare before
Christmas for both. It sort of begins around, you know,
late September, early October, and you really can watch it
all the way through the end of December.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Really for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
That's a good one. Well, my favorite holiday movie to
watch is Elf.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, there is.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Something about the It's still highly quotable. It's such a
joy to watch Will Ferrell act like this large man
child and run all over the streets of New York
and capture the Chris, reignite the Christmas spirit in us all.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
It always makes me smile.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Absolutely, And you know, we watched Home Alone two this year.
Channing had never seen Home Alone two Lost in New York.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
A violent movie.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
It really is.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
I've seen it before.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
You've seen it before. Oh I thought you had never
seen it.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
I've seen both of the Home Alone movies.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Oh okay, and so what did you think? Which one
is your favorite?
Speaker 3 (02:26):
I kind of prefer the first one more.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah, the first one, it's a little more original. The
second one is literally a carbon copy of it. It's
just in New York. We seem to be seeing a
lot of movies lately that are doing that with the sequels,
Like we just watched Avatar, Fire and Ash, which we
all sort of agreed was a carbon copy of the
second one, The Way of Water.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah, almost beat for beat.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
There's also some other movies out right now if people
want to go to the to the movies around the holidays,
around Christmas Day, Christmas Eve Day after Christmas, there are
some other movies out right now if people want to
go to the movies the weekend after Christmas. You've got
Marty Supreme with Timothy Timothy's Shallow May that is in theaters.
And you've also got Avatar of course, Fire and Ash,
(03:08):
which is going to do really really well. The Housemaid
is out right now, and I don't know about you guys, though,
I think I'm really just looking forward to sitting on
the couch, maybe making my own popcorn, saving a little money.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, for sure, because I go to the movies so often.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Did someone say a popcorn?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I knew that would get your attention.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Popcorn?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I do too.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
I think it's nice about sitting in your living room
with a decorated tree. Maybe the lights are a little dim.
It feels very Christmas in me, very homey, very comfortable.
That's one of my favorite parts of the season is
a the time off. Yeah, and be just the sitting
and the piece round the house and the cinnamon.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Rolls and the cinnamon rolls. That's right. We love the
cinnamon rolls well.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
The snacks and the movies and just the general feel
of the holidays around the house are really special, and
I'm kind of I'm always a little sad when January
comes because we have to put the decorations away and
then we know it's there's no more like Christmas feeling
for another eleven months or so. But we certainly made
the best of this year, and I know I've been
working a lot over the holidays and it's been a
(04:10):
very busy time, so I so appreciate you guys holding
down the fort for me and then coming and being
a guest on the show today.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Yeah, we love been
