joining me. I'm out here in the beautiful state of Oklahoma.
This is going to be kind of a topical podcast.
I did mark chapter seven today, but we're getting new
people that are downloading the podcasts, and I wanted to

brief you do a shorter podcast over what is God like?
Who is God? What are God's attributes? Those type of
questions that you may be asking, or if somebody ask
you who is God or what is he like? Well,
we know that God according to the Bible Genesis one,
we know in John one, Hebrews one, Colossians one, Deuteronomy

(01:49):
for thirty five, four thirty nine. We know there's only
one God, manifested in three distinct personalities, Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
We know that before anything was God is. We know
that God with this foreknowledge and predestination and doing everything
in accordance to the counsel of his own will, God

is sovereign. God is love. But we're going to go
through some of the main attributes some things. It's if
you want to if you've ever asked what kind of
God is he? Now they call him attributes. An attribute
of God is something true about his characteristics Through the scriptures.

The Bible was penned by forty men over fifteen hundred
years on three continents. That is how that's how we
learn about God. And then the Holy Spirit comes in
us when we are born from above and illuminates it.
And then through life. We see God working, and we
see God's attributes on display. Hebrews four or twelve, one

of the forty men who wrote the Bible, said that
the Word of God is living, an active It's sharper
than any double edged sword. It pierces even to dividing
soul and spirit joined tomorrow. God's word is a discerner
of the thoughts and attentions of the heart. God's word.

we can see in the general revelation. God's creative is creation.
But fully understanding who God is is impossible. A full
understanding is impossible for limited humans. We are the creatures
of God. But God does make himself known through the

our minds around how awesome our creator and God is. Now.
God is unlike anything, There's only one. There's not multiple gods.
There's not gods before God, Mormonism where you can become gods,

and there's Eloheim how to God, and there's and and
Allah is not God. God is. It calls himself, identifies
himself as Yahweh, the existing one. There's one God. There's
one way to get to God. And that is through
God the Son. Because the thing about God is holy,

and we'll get to that. But God is unique without
comparison everything, Even describing him with mere words falls short
of who he actually is. A word simply cannot do
justice to describe the Holy God. Still, God possesses attributes
that we can know. So here is a list of

God is infinite, which means he's self existing without origin.
Without origin, God is self existing. God was, God was
actually completely satisfied and content before he made anything. Those

the children of God. The bride of Christ, are so
blessed that an infinite God chose to like it. Says
in Romans five eight, God demonstrated his love for us,
and that while we were sinning, Christ died for us.

Great is our Lord and abundant in power. His understanding
is beyond measure. The fact that God is self existent,
that he was created by nothing and always has always existed,
is one of the hardest attributes of God for the

believer to understand. A w Tozer, one of the just
one of the more recent theologians and Bible teachers that
we can reference. He wrote about this confusing and head

spinning and this characteristic of God of his infinity. Toza
wrote to admit, there is one who lies beyond us,
who exist outside of all of our categories, who will
not be dismissed with the name, who will not appear
before the bar of our reason, nor submit to our
curious inquiries. This requires a great deal of humility, more

than most of us possess. So we say face by
thinking God down to our level, or least down to
where we can manage him Unquote, we gotta we have
to make God smaller to try to understand, which is
why you'll hear me sometimes on Christian talk saying, if

your problems are big, you've made your God too small.
Doctor Adrian Rodgers, who's gone off to the Lord, a
Southern Baptist preacher I think out of Tennessee. He wrote
about the existence of God. Quote. The name Jehovah, which
is one of the names of God. When it comes
to God, provides Jehovah, Jirah is you sixty eight hundred

times in the Bible. It is the personal covenant name
of Israel's God and the King. James version of Bible
translates Lord God. Not only does it speak of God's strength,
but it also speaks of the sovereignty of God and
the goodness of God, the root of his amens self existing,
one who never came into being, the one who always

will be. When Moses asked, God, who shall I tell
Pharaoh has sent me? God said, I am that. I am.
Yahweh is the most intensely sacred name to Jewish scribes
will not even pronounce the name. When possible, they use

So God is without origin. God is immutable, which means
he never changes. We'll have a T shirt coming out
a word around that says God is not progressive. He
does not change Malachi three to six. I am the Lord.
I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants
of Jacob, are not destroyed because you don't want God

to have a bad day or change his character. God
is for better or for worse. However you want to
look at God in our finite minds. God does not change.

(08:53):
This should be incredible joy for us. A writer wrote
of the good news of God's unchanging nature named sam
Storms quote. What all this means, very simply is that
God is dependable. Our trust in Him is therefore a
confident trust, for we know that He will not, indeed

(09:17):
cannot change. His purposes are unfailing, His promise is unsilentable.
It is because of God, who promised us eternal life
is immutable, that we may rest assured that nothing, not
trouble or hardship, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness or
danger or sword, shall separate us from the love of God.
In Christ Jesus woman Is eight thirty five through thirty nine.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Neither depth,
look at us. Is because Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
today forever. That neither angels nor demons, either the present
or the future, not even power, us, hight, depth, nor
anything in all creation be able to separate us from
the love of God. Is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
God is self sufficient. He has no needs John five

twenty six. For as the Father has life in himself,
so he has granted the son also to have life
in himself. Tim Temple writes, God is perfectly quote. God
is perfectly complete without his own within his own being
unquote Fijians three twenty. Because God is so sufficient we

can go to We can go to him to satisfy
all of our needs. So the Pesian three twenty says,
now to him who is able to do him measurely
more than we can ask or imagine, according to his
power that is work within us. God is omnipotent. God

is all powerful Psalm thirty three six. By the word
of the Lord, the heavens were made their starry host
by the breath of his mouth, Job eleventh, seven to eleven.
Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe
the life of the Almighty? They are higher than the
heavens above, What can you do? They're deeper than the

depths below? What can you know? Their measure is longer
than the earth and wider than the sea. If he
comes along and can find you in prison and convenes
a court who can oppose him, Surely he recognizes deceivers.
And when he sees evil, does he not take note?

God is omniscient. He's all knowing, as they have forty
six nine to ten, remember the former things, those of
long ago. I am God. There is no other God.
I am God, and there is none like me. God
all knowing. I make know the ends of the from

God is wise, He's full of perfect, unchanging wisdom Romans
eleven thirty three, Oh, the depths of the riches both

of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable are
his judgments unfathomable? His way God is faithful. He is
infinitely unchangingly true two Timothy two thirteen. If we are faithless,
he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself Deuteronomy for

seven Deuteronomy seven nine. Know therefore that the Lord your
God is God. He's the faithful God keeping us covenant
of love to a thousand generations, to those who love
him and keep his commands. God is good. He is
infinitely unchangeably kind and full of goodwill. Saw I'm thirty

the Lord is good. Again, Toesar said concerning the goodness
of God. Quote disposes him to be kind because God
is good. It disposes him to be kind, cordial, benevolent,

He's inclined to bestow blessedness and he takes holy pleasure
in the happiness of his people unquote. And we'll do

unchangeably right and perfect in all he does. This is
why we don't argue with God. God is always right.
If you have a disagreement with God, you're always wrong.
If your opinion is different than God's, You're always wrong.
Deuteronomy thirty two five The Rock his work is perfect
for all his ways or just a God of faithfulness

and without injustice, righteousness and injustice. I'm sorry, Righteous and
upright is he again? Deuteronomy thirty two to four The
Rock His work is perfect for all his ways are
just a good and faith and a God of faithfulness
and without injustice, Righteous and upright is he? Is he?

What does it mean that God is just? It means
more than he's simply fair. Means that He always does
what is right and good toward all men. Likewise, although
this is hard for many to accept, his sentencing of
evil odd repentant sinners to hell is also right and good.

RCI Sproul wrote this quote. Let's assume that all men
are guilty of sin in the sight of God. From
the mass of humanity. Of humanity, God sovereignly decides to
get mercy to some of them. What do the rest get?
They get justice, the saved get mercy, and the unsaved
get justice. Nobody gets unjustice because God is just welcome
