Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, Welcome to the Thompson Podcast. Thank you so much
for joining me. I want to kind of give you

(00:20):
a little reset here podcast, as I was going to
focus on just simply business and entrepreneurship, but after doing
a lot of research on AI and talking to people
and just people in my normal life. As believers in God,
we need to be talking about everything. So there Thompson Podcasts.

(00:46):
I'm going to be looking at what's trending. We'll be
looking at AI. I was talking to a teacher today
about it. I go, what do you think? He goes, well,
I'm trying to teach the kids use it. To teach
the kids how to use AI. But I don't know
what it's going to do. But I don't think it's
gonna replace me. So he tried to end up kind

(01:09):
of optimistic. I talk to young people sixteen, seventeen, eighteen
year old, you know, eighteen years old. I get my
coffee and they're well, I want, I go, what do
you want to be when it's all said and done,
and they're just like, well, I they throw out what
we've always done out. I want to go into nursing.
I want to go into business. We have people that

(01:31):
are walking around areas, even here in a Tulsa area
where just shoot people. Young people gaming three four, five,
eight hours a day. And it's interesting that people that
really are attacking kind of the old traditional values at
increasing numbers are on medications suicidal. So you know, you

(01:57):
guys are old school, messed up people and we're going
to fix the world. But where is my meds in
my pots? So I'm gonna be bringing on guests. But
your Thompson podcast is going to be from a guy's
been married thirty going on thirty two years next year,

(02:17):
actually below thirty one thirty two, been married a long time,
served in the Marine Corps. What the Desert Storm started,
Companies made a lot of mistakes and now in fifty seven,
looking at the world talking to a lot of people,
and people for different reasons and for based off of

(02:44):
their personality or well, I'm gonna get really behind politics.
So we'll cover the trending political stories because they do
affect us as Americans. We're going to look at trends
when it comes to the family. We'll look at the
business world. We'll look at starting a business. Maybe if

(03:06):
if there's opportunities you can use AI I'll run those
by you. But it's gonna be news. It's gonna be
about liberty, this is gonna be about business, and it's
gonna be encensored because I want you to know what's
going on, and then you determine I am a conservative independent.

(03:28):
I have some libertarian bents in my worldview. So I'm
gonna be more conservative than a lot of you. Maybe
if you, if you'll be more conservative than me. But
in the reality, since we're not a theocracy, and we

(03:49):
are in a country that was founded by primarily people
that feared God and who warned that a nation that
starts to function like the pagan world, the socialist communist governments,
would become a most miserable place to live. Well, let's
see if we can keep an eye on what Elon

(04:11):
Musk is doing. Let's see if we can keep an
eye on the traditional values that people are attacking and
showing where it's failing. Let's make sure that we are
engaged in our constitutional republic. Let's make sure that we
are engaged in our family units, and that we are

(04:33):
doing a good job at our jobs, and that we
are aware if our jobs are not going to exist,
which is why as someone who's been in a serial entrepreneur,
I said, I will be giving you ideas that are
coming up, Like I did a podcast. If you go
over wherever you get your podcasts from Eric Thompson podcast,

(04:56):
you can see there's a podcast I did on story
from a guy that told me a year ago that
in certain markets, based off of the competition, there's people
making about one hundred grand a year just painting curb numbers.
Maybe you'll start a local delivery company, maybe you'll get

(05:22):
good at AI, writing music or articles or creating things
that are marketable. But see, if we're all pursuing life, liberty, happiness,
and we are putting others interests above our own sometimes,

(05:43):
and we are holding our politicians accountable, and we are
staying aware of what they're doing, and we are voting
accordingly that people that would be going into office would
represent us, then it's a good it's a it's a
good nation to live in. In the blue or progressive

(06:10):
areas or the or where the church attendance, or people
are walking away from God or going over to Islam
which is growing, or Hinduism or Buddhism or New Age,
then you see this conflict that's taking place, so we

(06:33):
need to talk about it. Is Islam compatible with the Constitution?
Is is it possible to have hundreds of religions and
have them all be true? Is a progressive tax system

(06:55):
punishing you for being successful? Moral? What is the true
track record of communism? Socialism? What happened during COVID nineteen
shutdown Fauci The politicians that appear to have gotten away
with things? Should Should we be so wrapped up and

(07:20):
angry that we're going to try to make sure that
they're punished, or are we going to say, I can't
believe we let them get away with that. We need
to pass laws and make sure it can never happen again.
I always tell people when I meet them, even in

(07:40):
a drive through, if they're open to it, I says
a couple of things. Now, this as outside of my
faith in God. I believe Jesus Christ is the only
way that you can get to heaven. But just in
a general conversation, I tell the young people, make sure
that you live looking forward. You do not boast in

(08:02):
the past and live in depression for the past. You
should have repented if you did wrong and be able
to say if I could go back. I would do
it differently, and then you look forward, because you can't
go back. If you're boasting in the past, stop look forward.
Look for opportunities to help people look for opportunities in

(08:25):
the business environment. Start businesses. If you have done your research.
You listened to five things to consider before starting a business.
The first podcast in this series, Live I found out
a study came out for people you know that live

(08:51):
full lives. What do you think the average number of
hours they watched TV in years during their lifetimes? What
do you think would be reasonable if you're going to
live one time, destined to die once, and then you
face judgement, you get once shot at it, and we

(09:11):
know we're sleeping thirty to forty percent of our life
away most people, how many hours do you think would
be acceptable since you only lived once to stare at screens? Well,
in this poll or this survey, the average person had
watched fifteen years of television or looked at their computers.

(09:32):
I'm assuming, but we're in front of screens fifteen years
out of eighty seventy eight. Whatever the average is? Is
that accept Do you think that's a good thing? Do
you think people are better citizens if they've spent that
much time in their life watching other people live while
they weren't living. So we're going to talk about some

(09:57):
philosophical issues we're going to talk about. I'll take some well,
get emails from you ericadet talkshow dot com, but I
want to get your feedback. We'll have polls, we'll have
guests on, we'll do live shows. But let's live in

(10:18):
light of the rights we have in our Constitution and
Bill of Rights. Let's live as though there is a God,
because there is. Let's make much of the time that
we have, make every day count. Know what policies are
being discussed, vote for those people who are going to

(10:41):
represent us, hold them accountable, especially at the national level,
and we can turn around this ship. In some of
the states that are still considered purple. There's been a
a big move in some of the red states, like Florida.

(11:05):
I think George is going to go back to being
conservative and when it comes to the electoral college process.
But let's live locally. Let's talk about the issues. And
if there's a if there is a an anxiety drug
that's hurting people, let's talk about it. If there's jobs

(11:28):
in different states, if there's certain industries they just can't
find workers. Let's talk about it. Like I said, if
there's small businesses ideas that I come across, we'll talk
about it. But when you're done listening to the podcast,
you're a Thompson podcast. I want you to know that
over three decades of being married, successful in a couple

(11:51):

that's the goal here at the Eric Thompson Show. I
