Restoring the Republic: Why America Must Return to Founding Principles and CivicsAmid a national crisis of lawlessness, cultural decline, and institutional corruption, one truth remains clear: the United States must return to its founding principles if we hope to preserve the republic. These principles—rooted in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bible—once formed the moral and legal backbone of American society. Today, however, they’ve been replaced with relativism, entitlement, and rebellion against God-ordained order. The Founders understood that self-governance could only survive among a virtuous, educated, and morally grounded people. As John Adams warned, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Yet modern America has largely abandoned this foundation. Civics education has been replaced with gender ideology and grievance politics, while reverence for law and justice has been undermined by woke district attorneys and globalist elites.Recent events only highlight this decay. In Cincinnati, a mob of teens beat a helpless man as bystanders encouraged the violence . No reverence for life, law, or neighbor—just raw chaos. Meanwhile, in a twisted display of judicial insanity, an illegal alien not only avoided deportation but successfully filed a restraining order against ICE—then went on a violent crime spree . These are not isolated incidents. They are symptoms of a nation unmoored from truth.Contrast this with the heartening data from Pew Research showing a 44-point shift in just two years among young men moving toward conservative values . It signals that many Americans are waking up. They're rejecting the cultural Marxism infecting our institutions and seeking a return to order, justice, and freedom under God. But revival won’t come by accident. It requires intentional action—starting with education.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Eric Thompson Show. He's passionate conservative fighting
to preserve our constitutional rights in.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
This present crisis. Government is not the solution to our problem.
Government is the problem.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
A Marine Corps veteran and familyman whose life's creed is faith, family,
and country, join Eric today as he covers current events
from a conservative worldview. Now here's your host, Eric Thompson.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Hi, welcome to the Eric Thompson Show. Thank you so
much for joining me on this week's podcast. We're going
to be looking at the condition of western nations, especially
here in the United States of America. If you want
to get more information on what I'm doing over here,
you can head over to my website at ettalkshow dot
com ettalkshow dot com. A nation cannot survive when the

(01:07):
leaders are corrupt and the culture is divided significantly. We're
at the point now, and as we go through some
of these stories that you literally have to if you're
on one side, I guess you just say, well, this

(01:28):
is as we're going to see. With the first story here,
the Cincinnati City council member who actually blamed the two
white I think Russian people who were walking through Cincinnati
and vicials. He attacked by a mob, getting knocked out.

(01:51):
She blamed them. So some people somehow are able to
say yes because and maybe we'll find out more as
we go along, But why why were they in that
part of town? Or but they're they're the ones that
are to blame. The reasonable person would say, out of control, godless, narcissistic,

(02:18):
evil mob all should go to jail for doing this.
But we have a small percentage of people that are
out saying, well, they deserved it. We have an illegal alien.
We'll play a little video audio clip here. Who docta recipient?

(02:39):
I believe he went and got a restraining order even
though he had attempted murder and other charges as a juvenile.
Judge said, sure, you you can. You can have a
stay of ices detainer request and you can stay out

(03:03):
until it's resolved. But then a couple of weeks later
he's back in jail for a crime spree in other crimes.
So people argued, yes, illegal, you know in the country, illegally,
try to murder somebody, long record, we should let him

(03:27):
not be detained by ice, and then he goes and
commits more crime. So how safe could a resident in
the Bay Area in California. How safe can they feel
if this is how the government functions planned parenthood got

(03:48):
caught falsey advertising prenatal services. No, they actually and they
actually kill babies. They are not offering prenatal but they
got caught. What'll happen to him? Nothing? I moved from

(04:08):
California a couple of years ago, and they were passing
a minimum wage law up to twenty dollars an hour
starting for restaurant workers. How's that working out for the people? Well,
so far, estimated eighteen thousand people have lost their jobs.

(04:30):
Eighteen thousand jobs are gone because of in the fat
food sector alone, because of this extremely high and obnoxious
minimum wage. You know, the guy that burger king or McDonald's,
it's taking the fries and putting salt on them and
then the hand puts them in the bag. Twenty dollars
an hour plus minimum twenty bucks. How's it working out

(04:53):
for the people? Eighteen thousand jobs in that industry gone,
probably due to AI and robotics, and you know, they're like,
well maybe we can, which they have. McDonald's has a
machine that will do the drop the fries, take the
fries out of the grease pourmand, put him into the thing,
put the salt bag them. But they don't care because

(05:16):
if it is a good narrative, we are for the people,
even though we know the technology then will be increased,
the investment in research and development will increase and get
rid of these people's jobs. But who cares? And if
you look overseas, and this is becoming more prominent in

(05:37):
parts of Detroit, in Houston, in Brooklyn, there was a
twenty three percent additional increase in the top baby name
for boys in England and Wales, which has been Mohammed
Well went up another twenty three percent in the percentage

(05:59):
more than seven and twenty one boys were given the
specific spelling of aut Mouhammad in twenty twenty four. Noah
came in second, and Oliver I think came in second
and third. And unfortunately overseas and Belgium, a mother six

(06:23):
is in a coma after her radical is I'm my
husband was released from a Belgian prison early and then
he went and lit her on fire in front of
the children. So what is the whole point to this
sequence of stories? I'm going to go over. Our nation

(06:46):
was founded by primarily religious people, Christians, deists, and the
goal was, let's look at the different governments of the
world and let's put together what we're going to call
a democratic republic or a constitutional republic, same thing. We're

(07:08):
going to take the best of different governments and we're
going to create this unique situation where the rights come
from God to the people, not from the government. And
then the people will vote in representatives, and then they
will go ahead and represent the people in the House
of Representatives at the district level, and then two senators

(07:30):
at the state for the state, and the people then
will hold accountable the representatives. And then the states will
give power to the federal government. But if the constitution
doesn't specifically assign rights to the federal government, and the
states don't give the rights to the federal government, the

(07:50):
rights will automatically revert back to the states. But the founders,
including Adams, and I've said this before my podcast, but
several if I generalize it, said here's the constitution of
public and like Franklin said, if you can keep it, ma'am,

(08:11):
well yeah, he went asked after the convention, if you
can keep it, Adams and everyone else, enjoy this initial
liberty that you have, but if we decide, if the
people over the generations decide to settle down and be
more like the England and other countries, we will then
be even worse off because the rights given will be lost.

(08:36):
But the documents themselves say we are rights come from God.
We have three co equal branches of government. But the
Bible and what and the and the ethos or the
ethic of the people. When our nations started, the founders

(08:57):
was that only a religious and more world people will
the constitution work with, will will actually be applicable in
a moral and godless Marxist nation. The constitution has a
lot of ways that you can manipulate it. And when

(09:19):
you have a significant percentage of people in the judiciary
who are godless, who are activists, political activists, advancing socialism
and Marxism and communism, then what happens is they take theirs.
You know, the district attorneys who are liberal in a
lot of these blue states, in major cities, they take

(09:43):
prosecutorial discretion deciding on what case is to actually prosecute,
and they flip it upside down, going now, we're not
doing it because of DEI and because of the social
pressure from our communities. So yes, we're a constitutional republic.
Yes we have three coequal branches of government in principle.

(10:07):
But when you have corrupt people in the city councils,
in the mayorships, in judiciary, then you have chaos. So
let's go through some of them.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Now.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I don't want this to be negative. Want you to
understand there has to be return, a return to and
this is good news. Young men have been shifting back
toward conservative value since twenty twenty three. This is a
good sign if they step up and lead their families
and President Trump's team is And I am an independent,

(10:45):
but I do vote conservative, which means all I have
left Israeli the Republican Party. In most cases, there is
a lot of attempt to deport criminals and to enforce
the rule of law. Here is what it looks like
when people who choose to live in a post modern

(11:08):
mindset of advancing their race or their sexual preference or whatever,
they want their community to be treated better than. Even
though they fought for equality, they now want to be
pretty much exempt from the laws because they weren't. They

(11:33):
didn't pass most of them. And so what we're seeing
is the manifestation of the concerns of the founders, and
the way we get back to it is we deconstruct
the federal government, bring things back to the states at
the community level, we get back to seeking to have

(11:54):
law and order in place again, to have a city
that fears and worships God and helps people because we
are saved by grace. But the works that we do
come from that position of being not worthy but loved

(12:18):
by God. Then we are compelled then to go help others.
Not let's be godless and take our money and give
it to the government. And then they set up non
governmental organizations that are supposed to help people. It doesn't work,
so they begged for that beat down. I am greatful

(12:43):
quote unquote who said that Cincinnati City Council member openly celebrated.
She celebrates in her comment the vicious mob assaulting white
people in downtown Cincinnati. Now, even though the most people
in the country are furious and just outraged after a

(13:08):
mob savagely assaulted two white people in downtown Cincinnati over
the weekend, Well, one of the prominent local politicians, she
doesn't have a problem with it. The group of individuals
beat around a bald white guide intersection at West for
Street in Elm Street in downtown Cincinnati so bad he

(13:28):
couldn't get up. Then a white women got she went
tried to protect him. Well, then they knocked her out,
slammed her head against the concrete. She lost consciousness, blood
was seen coming out of her mouth. Well, two people
been arrested. One's already out on bill from previous charges.
One was out on bell in Cincinnati Mayor candidate Corey Bowman.

(13:53):
She said, you know, I just think the mob was
one hundred percent justified in the action they beg for
the beat down, She wrote on Facebook, unbelievable. Can you
imagine we would happened if two people of color would

(14:17):
have been walking down the street in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,
and a mob of white people start beating them senseless
and then the police chief came out saying well, or
a local congressman, assembly person or council member says, well,
they deserved it. We know what would happen, because what

(14:43):
would happen would be the natural outrage of the community
would match the natural outrage of moral people around the country.
But because we live in a country that is divided,
because we have abandoned the principles and we've gone outside
of the constitution in Bill A. Wright's ability to protect

(15:04):
people because of the corrupt nature of the judiciary in politicians.
We must return to our founding principles. If not, we
will continue to hear evil people like this congresswoman or
a council member saying people are justified to almost kill

(15:29):
people because of their skin color. Here was a video
by Liberty Daily I found over here on Rumble. Now listen,
listen to this closely. This is an illegal alien gets
a restraining order against Ice and was on city Hall
at City Hall July fifteenth, and all the people NBC

(15:50):
Bay Area covering it. Listen to the reporter going over
the flow here that happened at that time and following
because of lawlessness.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Rally outside Federal Immigration Court in San Francisco, whereas attorneys
argued the tattoo artists should remain out of ice custody
because he's lived in the US since he was six
years old. They contend Rais is being unfairly targeted for
deportation because of his activism, but he also has a

(16:24):
criminal history, including a conviction for stabbing a rival gang
member in twenty thirteen. To be honest, according to the
conversations that I've had with immigration officers, we're all.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Criminals to them just because we weren't born here. But
you do have it, but you do have a record.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah, but just like I do have a record, as
I do.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Enough.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
The judge granted rais a temporary reprieve, but this past
Sunday he was back in custody, accused of several new crimes.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Birthley police say the bizarre string of incident started here
when Giermo Reyes called nine one one to report a
possible break in.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Officers arrived to find a broken window and found Rays
with a bloody hand. They took some information and left.
Four hours later, someone at this cafe called nine one
one for medical.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Help, initially called it as a medical for a male
breathing heavily, but now possibly a ventanyl overdose and bray
now shirt tattooed.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Please.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
Soon learned about a string of carjacking incidents. One happened
here at this bakery, where the three year old was
in the backseat of a car, but Reyes was unable
to get away because he didn't have the keys. And
here at this gas station where the seventy year old
victim was able to dowse Reyes with gasoline before she

(17:50):
was knocked down, and then down the block where a
big rig Reyes was driving stalled before he could get away.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Well, we got one to change here. I was deployed.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
In the end, Rays was taken to the custody And.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Well there you go. It's only funny because it is
so absurd, right, So which you have you you have
a guy, you have a guy that criminal record people.
Because he's a doctor recipient, he should be treated differently.

(18:28):
No Ice, you can't. You can't detain him breaking into windows, cards,
all kinds of further crimes. And so when you try
to reason him with people and say this guy should
have been held by ICE because of his past, and
they say no, the companies to come a point where
our culture says, well, your opinion, though heard, is actually invalid.

(18:51):
It is bad for the culture. Plant parent had caught
falsey advertising parental services, or if you conducted by the
Pennsylvania Family Institute found them multiple plant parenthood locations across
the common wealther advertising quote prenatal and postpartum services unquote

(19:11):
on their websites, Yet none of the clinics actually offer
prenatal care. So they want they want to lie to
get you in and then they say, oh, are you
sure you can handle the baby? We have remedies if
you don't, because life's going to be terrible and blah
blah blah blah blah. Is that sick or what? Yes,

(19:33):
come on in for help. Will help you get ready
for the baby to be born. But then we're going
to try to flip it to kill your baby. All right,
A couple, let me let me ask you a question.
Are you with AT and T, T Mobile Verizon? Do

(19:55):
you mind a part of your cell phone bill goes
to help companies like plane Permit? Did you know the
years ago company called Pure Talk out of Covington, Georgia
started getting promoted by Rush another talk show hosts and
other entities. Mike Rowe, I've been promoting him for years

(20:15):
because I am a big supporter and customer of Pure
Talk USA. This is what this is how it works
with technology. Now you can stay on the same large,
the largest five G network in America. You can keep
your phones and phone numbers. You stay on the largest tower,

(20:37):
the most powerful tower, giving you the same breach you
have right now, same coverage but you can cut your
bill on average one thousand dollars a year, which means
average family is not having to send in one thousand
dollars out of the checking account, stays in there to
help with the bills while keeping the same coverage, same phones,
same phone numbers, without having to buy new equipment or

(20:57):
sign a long term contract. Win win. When and pure
Talk CEO's US veteran they don't use the money some
of the profits from the cell phone bills to help
plant parenthood and help these radical globalists get elected in
office and help or even district district attorneys get elected.

(21:20):
Know they use some of the profits to help veteran causes.
So today's day, enough is enough, make the switch. Go
to this website to do it. Go pure talk dot com,
go p U r E talk dot com. You'll see
my name on there, Eric Thompson. Here's a nice thing.

(21:44):
Not only are you going to save on average thousand
dollars a year, stop supporting woke companies, keep the same coverage,
keep the phone number, keep the phones. All that just
to cut your bill about fifty percent, But you get
your second month completely free when you use this promo code.

(22:09):

on the same service. My wife and Iron couldn't be happier.
Great customer service out of Covington, Georgia. Go puretalk dot com.
Promo code is f LS free to get your second

(22:32):
month completely free. All right, let's finish up here. I
mentioned this earlier. California did a minimum wage bump up
to twenty dollars an hour for restaurant workers. Only eighteen
thousand people so far have lost their jobs. Make even

(22:53):
now even closer to living on the streets because the
jobs that they were, you know, McDonald's another job which
pretty much anybody could do. They're getting paid. They've been
getting paid to wage, which puts a lot of pressure
on McDonald's and companies to invest in robotics, which is
why we're seeing kiosk all over the country getting rid

(23:13):
of the front counter people like Taco Bell. It's good
for politics for a moment, but it's bad for the people.
And then the overseas. I mentioned that the growth of
Sharia Islam unfettered because people don't want to say anything
is actually backfiring significantly because our nation was founded on

(23:36):
life for liberty, pursuit of happiness, the pursuit of obtaining
property based on Judeo Christian values and Islam's values are
antithetically completely different. Do your research on that. You wouldn't
have to be emotional. Look at the Hadis and the
krans what it says, and you will understand why I

(24:00):
in Belgium a father would light his wife on fire
in front of their children. In why England and France
and Italy and all these countries are having so much
demo of the Dutch, Norway, Sweden or having so many
problems because there's been a massive forced immigration of people

(24:25):
whose values are the opposite of what Western European, former
European and American America. Our values are not compatible. The
crown is not compatible with the constitution. Let's end on
a good note here and again, if you forgot to

(24:45):
write down earlier to cut your cell phone bill, it
was go pure p U R E Talk dot com
promo code f l S free. Here's a good story,
some hope, young men. I shifted massively towards the right
since twenty twenty three. Why is this good? Well, conservatives

(25:16):
for most of our world, our nation's history has always
been based on this old trope of you grow conservative
as you grow older. Right, So people start out young,
they're kind of okay, it's okay if you give up
away all the social services, it's I understand. And then

(25:36):
as you get older and they start taxing you, and
you start to see the crime, and then you tend
to become more conservative. Well, according to Pew Research, there
has been a massive turn from twenty three to twenty five,
a forty four percent increase from eighteen to twenty nine

(25:56):
year old men from being liberal to now being republican
or conservative forty four percent, switch fourteen percent for women.
Then you see thirty to forty nine year old men
fifteen percent increase, but a loss of conservatives three percent

(26:18):
for what the people call Karen's the thirty to forty nine's,
So the women are becoming a little more liberal men
plus three fifty to sixty four women basically stayed the same.
But then when you get up to sixty five plus,
Democrats have picked up six percent men sixty five plus

(26:39):
and women sixty five plus. Why why are the youth shifting? Well,
to me, it's pretty straightforward. Those sixty five and old
are the baby boomers. Made their wealth from their four

(27:01):
oh one ks and there and jobs and businesses when
taxes were low during the Reagan years, and a lot
of them retired pretty well off. They have good they're
paid off homes, and they have their Social Security and
all those benefits. So they're looking life going. I've got
five years, two years, ten years, fifteen left, and I've

(27:21):
got plenty in my four to one k in my iris,
So let's help everybody. A lot of them because of
life decided. You know, I don't want to be a
Jesus follower. I don't want to follow. I don't want
to be a Christian anymore because I want to do
what I want to do. You know, these are the

(27:43):
former hippies in the fifties, you know, the early sixties
through seventies. Well, they are falling away from conservative values.
But the gen zs, the young people are going like
a right, let's see how is the culture looking. And

(28:06):
the man, especially the young men, are like, I don't
want to live in a country where people don't know
what a woman is I don't want to just stand by.
I live in a country where it pete. The more
you make, the more the government takes, and where people
can come in the country illegally and get spoon fed

(28:26):
by the government with my tax dollars. I want to
be able to buy a home. I want to be
able to not be afraid of walking through Cincinnati and
getting beaten up sincely because you know, because of my
skin color, et cetera, et cetera. I want a country
the young people are saying that is based off of

(28:47):
the Decoration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, the Constitution.
They want to live in a country where, like even
Martin Luther King Jr. Where his hope for his children
back then during the Civil Rights movement was, I have
a dream that my children will not be judged by

(29:08):
the color of their skin, but their conduct. This is
what the young generation wants. So as we close here,
the young people, if you're a conservative, Christian, even libertarian,
but you believe in law and order, we need to

(29:29):
invest in the young, the youth, the Gen zs and
Gen Alphas, and share with them the truth of communism, socialism,
showing them the black lives matter. This this this money
laundering scheme that was done by and this is factual lesbians.

(29:50):
And I think of the two of the girls were communists.
Three girls started Black Lives Matter, They laundered and they
pulled all the money out, and now it's basically gone
under and people stop supporting it. Antifa, young liberal women
are behind that, and it's chaos, it's pain, it's death,

(30:12):
its abuse, it's violence. So our nation has to get
back to local We need to instill law and order,
the benefits of law and order, and the necessity of
law and order, and we need to culturally look at
someone and say, city council women, you cannot represent this

(30:35):
city if you're saying that people deserve to get beaten
because of their skin color. We have to quit being
nice to people that are intentionally ignorant or stupid. You're
titled to your own opinion, but you should not be
in a position of authority or influence. And the culture
should shun people who are advancing godless causes, and we

(31:01):
should live in harmony. But the only way that works
is if we get back to our republic. We need
to get corrupt judges out of office. We need to
get rid of laws that allow for laundering of money
coming in from overseas to put in people in political
office that are going to work to destroy our country.

(31:25):
And we need to return back to God into loving people,
into being used by God to help people. The church
should be the welfare system, not the government. And you
should not be able to come in our country legally
because we don't know who you are. And that is
what is going on this week. There's some good news
with the young generation, but gen xers we got to

(31:47):
step up. We've got to train those young people, and
we need to be aware that in the meantime, while
things are going to hopefully be corrected, there's going to
be a lot of problems with AI replacing people, people
stealing clothes and stuff from stores. You can see the

(32:08):
videos all over the place with school starting moms just
walking in and walking out with the hundreds of dollars
worth the clothes justified that they can't afford to close.
Somehow law and order legal alien in the country. I
legally criminal should have been deported right away because he
wasn't got on meth went and could have killed people.

(32:33):
This needs to end, so I do thank you for listening.
If you want to get more information, like I said,

Dadimir Zelenko who came up with the Zelenko protocol, which
President Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows had called doctor
Zelanko back during COVID and said what do we do?
And there's a video on the website you can see
where they told him get on getting president on zinc, ivermectin,

(33:18):
came up, dexametasone. You know, all of these things that
they said were as a horse, tranquilizers and all this stuff.
But it worked, Doctor vlank Uh, doctor Vladimir Zelenko, his protocol,
he helped thousands of people, according to their numbers, not
have to be hospitalized. So right now they even have
