my friend.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Have you good Friday to everybody out there. I started
going to church, but instead my pop said, you have
to say you want to get around the golf man.
So ladies and gentlemen, first round is in the books. Yeah,
where it happened? That played Okay, didn't play too bad,
you know, finished strong. How'd you like that course? I
played a couple of times. It's cool. It's got a
couple of nuances for you. It's got a lot of
dog leg lefts lit dog there right. So you know

(01:12):
you gotta make sure you play your fade and make
sure you pay your You got to. You got to
pull out every club. But thealls on that mask greens
are where they get you at Whispering Willows because there's
a lot of hill on those greens, a lot of
false fronts, so don't overshot it. It was easy peasy.
Didn't keep scoring, you know how it is, first round,
didn't keep score. Feeling good to be glad to be
here with you, guys and ladies and gentlemen. There's a

(01:33):
playoff game, there is. I have a golf features a
Detroit team.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I have a golf question for you in a minute, though,
I want to say hello to Tom mass Away. Tom
master Away, good after them. Hey, buddy, you didn't have
a chance to take you. I've been running today like
you wouldn't even believe. It's fine them here. We're good
to go, baby, good.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
To see everybody. Uh, I have a great Easter weekend.
Were good Friday tonight.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Ricky Burns of course with us and again we are
we're just you know, enjoying our time with the.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Spend Daddy, dude, spending baby. How are you doing good?
Doing good?

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Appreciate you guys for having me. It's always a lot
of fun. I just wanted to get a quick shout
out on this good Friday to to St Anne's Fish
Friday up.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yes, throughout lent all Lent long.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
So they're going to be over at Coon and Brewing
Company at thirteen Tound. Make sure you go over there
and get a play field for a fish.

Speaker 6 (02:30):
Make sure you say how to father Adam for me.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
To father out. You got those videos because you asked.
I gotta let you know that the swing was alright.
So swing that's good, first time out, that's good.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Hey, let me ask you a quick golf question because
we were talking about this earlier today on the nine
on Fox Too, and it was in relation to slow golfers.
Because last week the chairman of Augusta National came out
and said that they are working with a second tier

(03:04):
level tour on the PGA Tour and they are going
to institute not really but just for lack of a
better way to describe it, institute a pitch clock essentially
to pick up the pace of these golfers because slow
play golf course.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I love.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
It is such a problem. Whether you're a hack down
here playing at golf course down the street, or whether
you're a pro player. It is causing people to stay
away from the course. It's causing a lot of friction
at the course. In fact, I just watched it before
I saw this story today. I watched a video yesterday

(03:43):
of two foursomes in Canada. The foesome in front was
playing so slow that the two got together. One guy
broke the other guy's jaw. I think I saw that video, yes,
and I think it is time for golf to institute
something like that. And again it's not a pitch clock,

(04:05):
but for the ease of describing what they want to
do with speeding up the game, I think that is
a really good thing.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah. No, what happened was back in the day, well
not back in the day when I first started golfing.
The sports start picking up in ninety seven, but it
picked up to the people that really wanted to play it. It
didn't pick up as a trend. People that were starting
to play, they got in because of Tiger or whatever,
but they wanted to play. So you know, you figure
out like true is because of tigers. You know that.
I agree with you, mass, But now golf has gotten

(04:35):
so trendy. Golf has gotten so sexy. If you on
a golf course, you can get women. If you're on
a golf course, you're signing deals. If you're on a
golf course, you have friends. Now you got a bunch
of guys golf and that don't know what the hell
they're doing, and they don't care about the rule. They
don't care. Once you start having cannabis on the course,
which I'm not judging because once you start getting the
music on the course, I'm not judging because I do

(04:55):
it as well. But it made it really lack a
daisical and cats. Now four is the most players that
are supposed to play in a group. And around you'll
look on the tea boxy six guys going off, I
pull seven, and then you have females and it's like
there's no respect for the rules and no respect for
the etiquette. So I don't have a problem with this.

(05:16):
Who am I to judge. I'm a guy that you know,
like today, I'll drop another ball if I'm teeing off.
There's nobody buying me. Any things, but it's nobody behind
you the key. But when you start doing that and
the people are picking up golf and they don't know that,
they don't realize, Oh, there's only dropping a couple because
there's no one behind. So you get to doing that
when people are there, Oh why do you drop another?
Why do you drop another? Why? No, it doesn't work

(05:36):
like that, like everybody's trying to enjoy a nine or eight.
I mean, e'scuse more eighteen. So I actually like it.
I think it's going to be good because I get
frustrated working on myself and working on patients. But you
get frustrated. You see guys shooting the breeze up there
and they have more than ample time to shoot or
get off. So uh yeah, I'm for it.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
It's too long golf, and I used to play in
high school. My friends, we go to the driving range,
we have some fun.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
We'd go to the par three's. Eighteen holes to me
is a long. It's long. It's too long, so it's
not for me. It bored me.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
But when I'm watching it on TV last week and
even the Masters, to me, it dragged, and especially when
it's not even a major let's just say it's a
regular old PGA thing. If they sped it up, I
probably enjoy it more as a novice, as a fan

(06:32):
that I love Tiger Woods. That's why I watched golf.
And then when I grew up, I was a Jack
Jack Nicholas fan, no question. Arnie was old coming in
and Jack was the guy. If baseball can do it,
golf can do it. Baseball's better now it is. It's
better that you don't see the picture thrown over six
times the first base Golf can be better, no question.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Was talking about the country clubs, just the regular I
believe novice golfer, but getting into I guess the PGA
Tour and how it is. I don't mind it on
the PA Tour at the end of the day because
you're not watching. You're not watching it wire to wire.
You're not watching Thursday from whenever they tee off at
ten point fifty until four, you're not watching Friday from
noon to six, you're not watching. So I don't mind

(07:19):
it in that space. I'm going to watch a little
bit of golf here. There's you know on Sunday you
watched from two to seven, it's five hours with my
feet kicked up on the couch as I was flipping
the channels through other things. So I don't think that's
a big deal in terms of what they're doing. You
have to lean into the fun side of things. I
think that's what the PGA is doing.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
So one of the things I want to read this
in the chat from Cody Ingle because this is absolutely
spot on. Cody, thanks for the comment and of course
being a loyal viewer here on Woodward Sports, and everybody's
got a lot of great suggestions, but Cody hits us
and I put the link to the story if you
want to read it for yourself. It's a Wall Street

(07:57):
Journal story from yesterday with that in the chat as well.
Play from the correct tea box, yes, like seriously, okay,
don't play from the blues.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
If you can't hit from the blue, great, because I
got a story about this.

Speaker 7 (08:12):
So last year was like my first year, like actually
like taking a serious and we were at a course
and a guy got paired with me.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
He asked me what we were playing. I played like
the tea right behind the ladies seat.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
He was like, man, I respect that because most people
try to go back here where I'm nothing and they
just can't. I'm like, nah, man, I'm actually like somebody
told me. The first thing is like, if you're bad,
be bad fast, right, I don't even take practice wings
most of the time.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Then go and then be prepared as well. Because the
second point here, don't look for twenty minutes for the
ball that you know is gone. I could not agree
with that more. That point is actually mentioned in this
article here by the Wall Street Journal.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
If you don't have.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Enough balls to play, just don't come because you hit
a ball into the marsh and you're looking for twenty
minutes for your ball, then again you know is lost.
You know you're not gonna find. You have to just
drop and move on. And then this is a big
one as well. You know, I know etiquette is such
a part of golf. Ready golf, man, Ready golf. You

(09:11):
don't have to wait whoever's behind this, that and the
other thing. What's the etiquette of the game. And I
think that golf is a gentleman's game, is a game
of etiquette, but at some point, in order to speed
it up, you have to play ready golf. I think
those are extremely positive things that the game can solve,
that you can solve on your own player.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
And you have to take an ego out of it.
And to expound on what you said, a lot of
the other issues is the seniors. The seniors that have
been hidden from the regular teas for a very long time,
and they're good golfers. They get to sixty five and
sixty well, I think seniors is sixty two in golf,
sixty three. They get to sixty three and they're still
playing from the blacks. Sixty four sixty five. Ball's not

(09:55):
going as far as hurting them trying to keep up
with the younger guy. It's okay. And like you said,
if you're not a great golfer, don't play for the Blacks.
It's about ego. I'm packs they playing from the Blacks.
I'm gonna show you how I can hit. It doesn't
even matter if you get a drive off this three
hundred yards? What's your approach I look like? What does
your short game look like? Can you put on those thats?
So I agree with that one. Spinning's got the video

(10:17):
before we got up.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
Hey, bowling is the same guys.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Honestly, when I'm bowling and we have it our team,
we bowl quick. If the team were bowling. It's really slow.
It kills our vibe. I'm talking about bowling, all right.
So it's a gentleman's game as well. So you try
to keep up. Don't don't just farm around. We all
play poker and bowl at the same time. They all drink,

(10:40):
they all eat. But you gotta be ready when the
shots done. Get up and get your shot done. It's
it's common courtesy, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Spin more recks. Spin those videos. Ricky, you tell me
what you did from today. This is today.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
That's a gorgeous swing. You didn't like it though, off
the team.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Because it didn't go dead straight. It went to the right.
It was just inside the sands.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
We need that ball track. That's a gorgeous swing.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
Braid that.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Finished. Wow, that balance the wow getting hips around. Yeah,
that's Rory McElroy. Right, I don't know about that. But right,
so we're working. But golf is fun. Just be just
like anything, man, Just just be cognizant. Just it's very
simple to be cognizant. Hey, why don't you pick like,

(11:31):
tell your teammates, he why don't you pick up? Hey,
you don't have to, you don't have to. You don't
have to sparkle on every whole. You don't have to
take a shot. Hey, you don't have to. You don't
have to fisit with the DJ in situation when your
turn to shoot the shot.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
That's why I only play in scrambles.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Man, You don't that five for two minutes.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Oh my gosh, guys, big playoff game coming up tomorrow
night in New York. For the first time since twenty nineteen,
the Detroit Pistons will play a playoff game in first
and foremost. You know, I just I have to give
a shout out to our team here at Woodward Sports.
Those guys last night they did the playoff preview. Kool

(12:16):
Aid and Flannel and Chris, those guys are special guys.
I am honored to call those guys teammates. Man here
early in the morning, here late at night. They're so
excited for Piston's basket, Piston's playoff baskets Christmas. I just
I just wanted to give a shout out to them

(12:36):
and alert everybody that they did do a playoff Piston's
preview last night. It is on our Woodward Sports YouTube
and just kudos to them. Couldn't be prouder to be
teammates with those guys.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
No, I definitely agree yesterday with the shows. Oh we
had Chancey Chris Pratty, I think you was still in
the studio. I love Chris Man, love him since he's
been here. But you had to LOI correct from kool
Aid to Chris. Those guys they care about this. We're
gonna care about those Detroit Pistons, man, and they work hard.
So I'm glad they I'm glad we're getting some love
here on the show. And they had a lot of
insight too. I'm glad you brought that up.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
So they got pre pre game tomorrow five o'clock here
and then the watch parties, then the watch party after
who's doing it, who's manning it?

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Chris and kol Aid. It will be on the desk
for the pregame show. Me and Easy are gonna be
downtown for the Tigers game, and then we're gonna roll in.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Oh man, I can only imagine. Ruefully, you got Uber
for sure, they're gonna be right for the cameras.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Yeah, it's gonna be a good time. And then I
think the post game show will be Kolid and Nanson.
I believe Chris on the man's chair. I'll be TD
in that one. So it's gonna be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Let me take this in order.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Guys, Tonight it's the final night of the NBA play
in game, So in the Eastern Conference, seven pm Heat
versus the Hawks. Really curious to see what Atlanta can do.
I mean again, they're gonna they're gonna blow this thing up,
aren't they? Young after they lose tonight, because look, Miami
is a favorite on the road in Atlanta tonight. So

(14:01):
the winner of this game will get the eighth seed
and they will play Cleveland in Round one. And again,
if I'm Cleveland, I'm just gonna say it right now.
If I'm Cleveland, I do not want to play Miami.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Just don't want to do it.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Some way, somehow every postseason, Seemingly every postseason, it appears
that Eric Spolster gets his guys ready. And I know
they don't have Jimmy Butler, but that is as good
of an organization as they're. Like the Pittsburgh Steelers, I
would say to me, the Miami Heat, they're always making

(14:38):
the playoffs, are probably not gonna go very far here
and there once in a while. Probably not good enough
to win a championship, but they're not gonna make it
to the lottery ever and get a high draft pick either.
You know, so Miami feels like the Pittsburgh Steelers of
the NBA.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
No, that's a good comparison. Man, I just got one
name and one song from the eighties. I need a Heat,
wrong da sixteen points in the first quarter? Look overall,
sixteen in the first quarter on a to bate or
with six or six shooting. But no, he steps up
and you said, some way, somehow. Look, Eric Spost is
one of the best NBA coaches in the last twenty five,

(15:13):
thirty forty years. You want to say he knows how
to get his guys prepared. It had nothing to do
with well, I don't want to go that far. But
he knows how it gets to get his guys prepared,
and he does it every year. Whether it's Lebron, whether
it's no Lebron, he finds a way and this is
what he's doing. Pat Riley also is in the building.
So there's a lot of basketball genius surrounding the Miami Heat.
They'll beat the Atlanta Hawks and Trey Young and it'd

(15:34):
be another Atlanta Hawk team that gets dismantled, disappeared, and
they'll start over. But it it'll be Miami, I mean
the Miami Heat. And it's because of pat Riley. It's
because of Eric Sposter, It's because vam Adebayo, who's an
Olympic gold medalist, as well as Tyler Hero who can
play well in the playing.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
By the way, pat Riley is retiring from the Heat
at the end of the season. I didn't even know
when this happened. I read it the other day. He's
stepping away. It's stay home with us with his wife, Chris,
all those years they've been together side. Note, the Heat
have knocked out the Bulls the last three play in

(16:10):
games years. The last three playing years, though, Heat have
knocked out the Bulls three in a row and they crushed.

Speaker 6 (16:17):
Them the other night.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
So the Bulls are there are another team that needs
to redo a team.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
No.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
The thing with pat Riley, if he's retiring from the game,
we'll talk about that at some point on the Mass
wanted to probably lead that amazing coach, amazing front office
individual like pat Riley. You think he's one of those
guys you think basketball He's won about the first ten
names that comes up. I think he was the.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Coach of the Knicks the last time the Pistons played
the Knicks in the postseason as.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Well in the playoffs. Yet Undy it was ninety two.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
I think, I think wash Yeah, Riley was ninety two.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
But he should leave after the situation with Jimmy Butler.
Now I'm not saying with Jimmy Butler and all that.
I'm not talking about her speaking who is right, who
was wrong. Jimmy Butler got you to two got you
to two finals appearances. You should have found the way.
But the old school pat Riley not trying to give
into the players, kind of reminiscent of Lebron and he
didn't want it back. He's still on his ground. And

(17:15):
then you lost Jimmy Butler. You can't lose a guy
to get you to too. Jimmy Butler had no business
getting them to two Eastern Conference finals. He'd be two
number one seeds to do so pat Rody's got to go.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
This is a conversation for another day, but I'd be
curious to see, perhaps if Eric Spolstra pulls the Brad
Stevens and says I'm done coaching and go be the
president and takes Riley Mike. You know he's just going
through a divorce himself. You know, the coaching profession is
a killer profession to be in. I mean, it just
kills you. It kills your personal life. It kills just.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
A killer of a life.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
And I think he's seeing that right now after fifteen, sixteen,
seventeen years. Whatever it is with the Heat as the
head coach, my goodness, that would probably be likely destination
for Spols.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Drive would think.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Let me ask you this a second playing game tonight
nine thirty pm East, ESPN. It is the Mavericks at
the Grizzlies. Who is this a bigger game for tonight?
Is it a D and Klay Thompson for Dallas or
John Morant in the Memphis might not play? He is
questionable for the games.

Speaker 6 (18:23):
I wrote on Twitter he was out.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Of bullet Let me think about it. You get that answer.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
A bigger game, bigger game tonight for a D in
Klay Thompson in Dallas or John Morant in Memphis.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
I think it's Jo.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
Mourant in Memphis. You look at what Dallas has with
a D and Klay Thompson.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
You know who they are. You know what they are.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
They're already established in the NBA, and they're missing their
best player in Kyrie Irving. I think John Morant is
still trying to capture that glory that he had when
he first came into the league as, oh, this is
the next kid. He's going to be the face of
the NBA look or what he did, and then he's
kind of falling off. Obviously, the you know, off the
court stuff doesn't help, but his player has fallen off

(19:06):
as well, and the team's success hasn't been there. So
I think he wants to get back into that conversation
where he sees Kate Cunningham almost surpassing him already as
like a face of the NBA in this league. I
think he wants to get into that again, and you
have to win playoff games to do that.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
I like that a lot. I'm gonna go on the
opposite side of it, though, Spinny, in all due respect,
I'm gonna just say it like this A D. The
whole conversation with A D and Jason Kidd in the
front offices, well, we got ad for Luka Donisic. Ad
came out and said, like, don't add like I'm not
a D. Don't act like it's not me here. So
as good as Ad is when he was with the Lakers,

(19:41):
what do we say about him. He may be the
best defender in the game, He's he may be better
than Lebron at this point in the game offensively. With
all that being said, this is your team. I don't
care that Kyrie Irvan is not playing. You still have enough.
Klay Thompson has been to enough the big game moments
where he can help you as well. I think it's
on Ad. Ad wants to get from my out the

(20:01):
conversation about him not being able to do it on
his own, needed Lebron or et cetera. This is a
good moment. This is the play in. Still Now you're
talking about a D, an individual that's been in the
MVP the last couple of years in the league, playing
in the play in with a team that's good enough,
playing against the Memphis Grizzy team last time I took
then they fired a coach in John morancles. John Moran's
ankle bother him a little bit. I think it's a

(20:23):
bigger game for Ad. Not Ad and Clay, but just
a D.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
I would love to see the Mavericks winning this game
and there were six and a half point underdog. First,
I didn't want to win any playing games because I
wanted to see him going to the lottery and get
the number one, get the number one. Because it's not
right them make it up to him, Yeah, make it
up to him. But now that they're winning, like man
the NBA did with Kyrie, irrigulate exactly Anthony Davis. Yep, listen,

(20:47):
if they win this game, who would they wind up
playing in the West?

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Okay See?

Speaker 6 (20:52):
If they could shock ok Se? Can they play the Lakers?

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Well I would pay do you to see the Mavericks
and the Lakers and the Mavericks.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
Punch him in the mouth and beat him.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Here's where I feel like NBA fans do get cheated though,
and call me crazy. If Kyrie Irving was healthy for this,
for this game and whatever, I believe that Dallas, not
okay See, and not the Lakers would be the favorite
to make it to the NBA Finals. Kyrie, ad and

(21:26):
Clay I'm sorry that to me is the best team
in the Western Conference. I understand. I long term you
hate the trade of Luca. Long term you hate the trade.
Short term, I think this was as formidable a team
as any Now you can call me crazy, you can
tell me I don't know anything crazy, and we'll never
know because we don't get to see it. But Kyrie,

(21:48):
a D and Clay is as good as any top
three players that any team in the West has.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Well. I'm not going to disagree because when the trade happened,
I argue both of you, and I liked it for
the Dallas argue you both of you. I argue I
say that both of you, guys, because I fought for
the short term purpose. Kyrie, this is what you need.
This is another chance for Kyrie. Kyrie's acting on a
clip last year. You saw he did in the playoffs.
Now you had a D and now you had Clay.
I thought this was a good team. You had gafferd. Gafford,

(22:14):
the rebounding skills, he gives you, the defense that he
gives you, the rim protecting that he gives you. They're
players on this team, but you don't have Kyrie. They
could have really did some damage in this playoffs to
your point, if they would have had They don't, but
they still can get playss to Memphis Grisies. This is
a team that nobody had anything to say positive about
in the last six weeks after they fired a coach
beat them.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
So here tonight is a perfect example of why I
do like the.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Play in John Morans Knice Dallas.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Dallas lost Anthony Davis for much of the year, most
of the rest of the season after the trade to injury,
and says the ability to get a play in your
injured player you're out of the playoffs. It gives teams
that lose games because of an injury, it gives you

(23:06):
a chance to get back in it. It gives you
a chance to stay alive and give your players time
to get healthy and be back in the game. I
just this is the positive aspect of the play and
otherwise I hate the playing because a team like Atlanta
probably not going to do anything, a team like Memphis.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Probably not going to do anything.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
But it does give the ability if you have an
injured player, gives your team an opportunity to get that
player back healthy, like Dallas did with Ad.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
That's the only only thing too about this with Memphis
is if they didn't fire their coach, you look at him.
I mean, Desmond Band gave you thirty last game. I
like him he's nice. It doesn't bang. You still have
jay Z on the Gem. There's still some players on
this team, and even John Morant with the if his
ankle wasn't bothering his last five games, he's been lighting
it up. He was averaging thirty points a game in

(23:57):
his last five games, and he rolled his ankle yet
twenty two, so if his ankle was healthy. With the West,
with Denver firing their coach and some other things that
are happening, do you really trust the Lakers. Phoenix is gone,
Houston is super young. So to your point, if they
had Kyrie, this could be a whole different playoffs. But
they don't. We'll see what they can do.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Guys, you're gonna hear from JB. Bickers Staff, You'll hear
from Kid Cunningham. You'll hear from them next Also, NFL
Draft less than a week away. We're gonna play a
little over or under as well.

Speaker 2 (24:27):

A lot of people around here excited for tomorrow Knights
Pistons game in New York, six pm, Game one on ESPN.
Mike Breen, the Voice of the NBA, will have the
call on that one with Richard Jacks and Doris Burke.
Kate Cunningham, though, talked about what it's going to be
like and again you got the two games in New York,
but talked about what it's going to be like to

(27:44):
have playoff basketball returning to Detroit.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Here's what he had to say about that.

Speaker 10 (27:52):
I haven't seen playoff basketball in Detroit so since I've
been here, obviously, but in a long time. So it's
excited Grady to see. I'll say, they'll be fun, it'll
be great to get some wins.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Man.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
He's so excited, man, I mean this is what people
wanted when he was taking round one, Round one, pick one,
and again he was on the cover of the New
York Post Sports page today, the back page. Yep, what
was the ready something about a villain.

Speaker 6 (28:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
I don't have any in front of me right now, ready,
Aim Villa. Yeah, I mean it was great. Whatever it was.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
It basically said Cade could be the next guy MSG hates. Yeah,
that's what that's what they said. That's an honor to
be hated at MSG.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Yeah. Look, twenty nineteen wasn't Pistons basketball. Yet. They made
the playoffs, but that wasn't Pistons basketball. You know. They
lost to the Milwaukee Bucks and they averaged thirty points
in that series in terms of winning by thirty in
that series. So that wasn't that was playoff basketball. That
wasn't the Pistons basketball that we know from the future.
This is different. Like you said, they drafted Kay Cunningham,
they believed in Kay Cunningham, and now that guy has

(29:03):
taken off this year. You see the Slam magazine, the
ands and so'hilly held up to the camera a couple
of days ago. It's exciting. He's playing at an all
pro level. The guys around him and supporting cast Man.
Those guys are physical. Those guys are in the strum
with you. And they got a guy that can lead
and that's a bigger staf.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
It was the better team to play against. They could
not have picked a better team to play against. This guy,
Kate Cunningham loves the spotlight. He loves He's gonna love
the bright lights of Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
He is the average is over thirty there in his career.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Yeah, and I think the least amount of points he
had against Nix this year was thirty six. I mean
it was like he's dominated the next this year. Ready
Villain and Abel, That's what it was, Ready Villain and Abel.
And it had like Reggie Miller and Trey Young. I
don't know who the other guy is. He's a third
player on that. I don't know who that is. But

(29:56):
you gotta look at that.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Yes, you know, like when when the media of this
Tim Hardaway, Tim Hardaway senior or junior senior, that's not
Tim Hardaway. That's what just turn the screen. It says
Tim Hardaway next to the picture. That's true Young, No,
that's pretty young. That's trage Miller. Who's that Tim Hardaway?
That's not Tim Hardaway. This one says, oh you look

(30:20):
at the picture. Okay, well look at you different things.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
This one it does look like Richard Jefferson, but no
it ain't JAJ Brown.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
PJ Brown.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah, sorry about that for the Yeah, I was talking
about something you guys can't see. Sorry about that, PJ.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Brown. They were those those heat Nick's ribbery, which is
crazy because they were heated, putting no pun intended. And
then what does pat Riley do. He turns around and
goes to Miami and then makes him even more heat.
It was interesting.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Burn five dollars get to a Pistons game early and
watch k come out of the court. You'll love the guy.
He greets every announcer and security guard. It's authentic. He's
a superstar. He's a humble superstar.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
It's what the city wants, it's what the city asked for.
This is a guy. He's not gonna go out there
and jaw with the refs or complain or cry or anything.
He's gonna go out there, he's gonna give you thirty.
It's gonna be an ethical performance. He's not foulbating. He's
just getting buckets. So I love Kate Cutting and he's
slowly climbing up my list of favorite Detroit athletes ever, Like,
if he wins the championship, he'll be in the top

(31:30):
four facts.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Look how he compares it. Look, you're just aid a
humble superstar in Detroit. Calvin Johnson can't get more humble.
Barry Sanders, come on, man, really, I mean al Kline
for sure. These are the These are the Steve Eiserman
all superstars, all gentlemen superstars.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
If k wins well before the title, Ky messes around
and wins his second playoff series, like, the people will
love him more and Barry and Calvin rest yeah, and
people love a winner in this town because Barry is
still one of those things where and Stick does it
all the time. I don't like how he quit a

(32:12):
lot of Lions fans feel that way, so you have
them on Calvin Johnson. I don't think he quit a
lot of Lions fans. They begged the different was body
wasn't that beat up? And blah blah blah. I'm telling
you k Cunnyham like everything that spinner said, he wents
to playoff series, he'll be above two of those two
guys right there, Greg says, Ryan, take off your tie. Greg.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
If I take off this tie, it's staying here for
a week. Nowhere I'll find it. We're gonna do a
Brailean top ten. I do want to play J. B.
Becker Staff with you for you real quick.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
JB.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
Bickers Staff talking about the Detroit fans, and then we'll
do a Brailean top ten.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
I mean, it's been that way as long as I
can remember them. Again, I grew up watching the Bad
Boys play. You know, you think about the city of Detroit,
the people from Detroit. You know, nothing's ever m right.
It's all hard earned and it's a mindset of our
workmanship mentality, and.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
I think, you know again, we try our best to
connect our guys to the fan days.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
And that's what our fans want to see. Is they
want to see, uh.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
You know, a team that they can relate to them.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
And that's what our guys are. You know, like what
we do, we do for our fans. There's no doubt
about it. And so you know, when you want to
reflect the image of the city, you want to earn
The Wednesday after I left, I left here ready villain
and able. I tell you they're worried, like when New
York starts talking about you, their worried. I was played
in New York. I saw the players they talked about.

(33:37):
Those were players that you worried about. Randy Moss whenever
we played the Patriots. You will see him in the
club whenever we will play anyway, Yes, was a Wednesday.
Walked in the market after the show. Saw the hammer.
Hammer told me tell you guys, told me to tell
you hello, shout out. Two other people were in there.
Two other individuals were in there, and I walked up.

(33:58):
Was introduced by the hammer JB. Bigger Staff, and it
was Luke Walton. JB. Bigger Staff was and he was
just chilling. He was relaxing, he was joining the mill.
He was cool. Got a chance to go up to
him and talk to him. The reason why I bring
this up, it was the demeanor. He was super calm,
super laid back. Luke Walton had to hat back with
side note. Luke Walls a cool dude. Cool dude like
Luke Wall's like the man that's not he might be

(34:20):
the man in the building with everybody, but the demeanor
is cool, like the energy is good, like they're not worried.
There's no there's You didn't sense any of that. I'm
telling you, he's gonna have Ky Cunningham as well as
the rest of these Detroit Pistons. They will be prepared
tomorrow for this game. What they choose to do, it's
gonna be on them. It won't be J B. Bigger Staff.

(34:40):
He'll have these guys ready. All right, here we go
break top ten. It is not a top ten Thursday.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
It's a top ten Friday, Top ten Friday.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Let's go baby, top ten Friday. Man, you know, we
want to have some fun. I figured Detroit back in
the playoffs and they're playing against the Knicks. Somebody have
the Knicks and the Pistons in the playoffs, nip they did?
What are some of those moments? So I found eight moments.
I found eight really good moments of Knick's Pistons basketball.
Are you ready to spind You got it? Let's throwing

(35:12):
up there. Let's get the first one. King eighty four
first round. This was the first playoff meeting between the franchise.
They didn't even see this list that called it out
right away. The Knicks leb Abinard King defeated the Bad
Boys Air Piston Joe by the way three to two series.

(35:33):
King was downin the average of forty two point six.
And did you realize that that game was Joe Louis.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
We'll never forget it. Have the red key, white floor,
white floor. It was like a cobol. That's because it
was a leak at the Silver at the Silver.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
So now you weren't in Detroit at the time.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
I was in Jersey watching it.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
And were you You don't cheering for the Pistons at time?
Tell me you remember the series?

Speaker 4 (35:56):
God, yes, a little drop. Isaiah scored what he scored sixty? Yeah,
not sixty but close. For it was up and down.
It was great basketball. It was all offense because back
in those days it was it was starting to turn
the defense. But they were scoring a lot of points
back then. I mean, Ourtons were the team that they were.

(36:17):
They were the NBA. Yeah, into a more defensive before
the Denver Nuggets was scoring one hundred and forty points. Yeah,
we always bet the over as kids in the neighborhood.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Neil, give me the overrup is I love as kids?

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Right?

Speaker 4 (36:36):
That one didn't slip my brother, you know, our friend Jerry.
It was his house. But his brother who was the
boss at the house, he was the booking and he'd run,
he'd run games, he'd had a horse race and gave
in the basement.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
And we wouldn't let us young kids in.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
We'd have to watch them the outside in the window,
and we'd call our bets in and he'd make us
pay ahead of time, all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
If there's and I'm mean this like, and I mean
this in all sincerity, you know, to take anybody's childhood,
I'm talking Tiger Woods, Lebron, ruthless, somebody that was just
excellent at anything was ruthless. But anybody's childhood, I can't

(37:21):
think of one that would be more entertaining than time made.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
It sounds like, hey, Arnold Grew.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
I swear to God man, I still live in those days.
I mean, I can't ever forget them. It's just it
was pure joy, pure joy.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Batman, the streets of Jersey. It was great.

Speaker 6 (37:40):
We stayed out all day.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
When the street lights went on, we knew it was
dinner time, ran home, and if it was any kind
of light out, we'd be out at night again, outside
playing ball, playing manhunt, playing everything, and of course gambling
sneak sneaking horse to Atlantic City as a seventeen year
old kid that played craps. Not allowed it, not even
allowed it the freaking casino. Listen, there is nobody better

(38:04):
than you at this network, and nobody nobody period.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
I won my first car per se because I wanted.
I want enough, Buddy, go out by my first car.
That's great, man, I'm about to.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Take you with me to the casina. About nineteen ninety,
my first siblings won my baby sister Jay, but it
was the only thing to happen in the Eastern Conference
Semi oh yeah Finals Detroit Pistons versus the New Your
Here you go Bad Boys. Pistons, fresh off their first
NBA championship, faces Patrick Ewing and the NIXT Detroit Showcase
their defensive prowess that Ryan just spoke about winning the

(38:40):
series four to one and robbed to their second consecutive title.
Patrick Ewing, man, he's an anomaly.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
He got robbed, robbed of what could have won a
couple of championships.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Bulls, Piston Celtics to do it, could have won a
couple of championships.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Really came so freaking close that those Nick teams were solid.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
Remember that team.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
I think it was against Houston that it was like
in the final seconds that ball that was halfway down
and bounced out.

Speaker 6 (39:11):
Yeah, it really was. It was. It was a tragedy
as a Knicks fan to see the Patrick Ewing era
the way the way it unfolded. It sucked.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Who is Anthony Mason?

Speaker 4 (39:22):
That was my favorite Mace and John Starks no longer
with us.

Speaker 6 (39:27):
He passed.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
John Starks like one for thirty from the field. I
love Starks.

Speaker 6 (39:34):
I was like, keep shooting. I didn't mind. I didn't mind.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
Start was one of those players like if he's on
your team, I think you.

Speaker 6 (39:39):
Love you love him if you're done.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
I had nothing about Starts I like, except obviously the
dunk he will Doulous.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
I liked the mix back in the day because I
knew the Pistons run was done and I did not
want the Bulls to do anything that the Pistons either
did or didn't do, like you know, a repeat championship
and then certainly a repeat championship. So I was a
heavy Bowl Knicks fan back then.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
Tried man, Yeah they did that happened against people. Not
only did they not only did just back to back.
They got two three people right.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
Exactly about then the Knicks in the heat, remember those
fights May Jeffy was holding the until morning by the
freaking the ankle.

Speaker 6 (40:20):
He was getting swung around by the ankle.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
They were they were, they were scuffles. They weren't necessarily.

Speaker 6 (40:26):
First to seventy was a win.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Well, we got goes keepers probably rocking and rolling with nineteen.
Now do you have a legit ten of them? I
got eight? Wow? Eight? But then I have two? Okay,
I got two?

Speaker 6 (40:37):
All right, two honorable mentions.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Great stuff in here? No, that's great? All right, spinmo
Rex number nineteen ninety two. Now, I want one of
you guys to tell me about this. Pistons Knicks first
round nineteen ninety two, Mas and Ryan and if you
don't I got swept that year. Did they get swept?

Speaker 6 (40:55):
I could have, I don't remember.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
That's Chuck Daily's last last time coaching the Detroit pit
that series against the Knicks. I believe it was a
sweet was the official end of the bathroom. Yeah, that
was the official end. They broke up after that. I
think Daily left because that was after the ninety two
Dream Team, and then Daily went to the New Jersey
nets and was the coach, and that was the breakup

(41:17):
right there it is, I believe if my history.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Has that correct, nineteen ninety two, the passing of the torch.
There you go. Nick's victory in nineteen ninet two series
could be seen in simbol passing towards the younger Knicks
team overcoming the aging Pistons dynasty in sweep Yep. I
remember Orlando Woolridge was the big old Yeah.

Speaker 6 (41:39):
Then they rocked the zero.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Yeah, they rock the zero. Isn't that cool? It definitely
is cool.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
See what other moments, the little meaningless stuff that we remember.
I don't even know how or why what where that
part of the brain.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
As my dad would say, I don't even remember what
I had for breakt no, but I remember that where
that part of the brain registers that kind of information.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
I'll never understands it. What's the next moment on there?
Before we spent this is out of order over here?
All right? This is the same, this is oh, here.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
You go, this is that's sixteen points in ninety seconds
that Kenny Brown was talking about.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
It's only four, No, this is number four. Oh okay,
man eighty four? This is the one we talked about.
It's out of order anyway. I think he had sixty
one points in his game. Banar King one of the
biggest what ifs. Whenever they talk about what if, they
don't get past Penny Grant, Brandon Roy right, so they

(42:33):
stay more in the you know, ninety late nineties, two thousand.
Banar King man like if he never messes his knees
up at Tennessee. By the way, before he even got
to the Knigs, everybody in the eighties said he was
the hardest man to guy had a year.

Speaker 4 (42:46):
Off man with that knee, and he used he used
to wear that Willis Reeds the name of Brakes on
his on his knee.

Speaker 6 (42:52):
When he came back.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
He was he was just a scoring machine, scoring machine.
And there was a great thirty for thirty on him
and Ernie Grunfeld. Bernie and Ernie it's called it's really
it was great. They were a great duo at Tennessee.
And Ernie came to the Knicks obviously and got into
the front office as well.

Speaker 6 (43:08):
But they were a great duo.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Man coming out mass you would be able to educate
me and the rest of society. Society and Bernard King. Yeah,
just such a great scorer during his time.

Speaker 6 (43:22):
It was amazing.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
But why is his name never mentioned in that era?
Like you hear it overshadowed?

Speaker 6 (43:28):
Is it because of the championship and overshadow and the
Knicks have not been they have not been relevant really,
I mean they got relevant when Patrick Ewing came, when
they won that they won that thing.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
Dave the Busher was there and they had the little
Bent card and the Knicks got the number one draft pick.

Speaker 6 (43:45):
That was the way I like it. That's the way
it should be today. Well it was.

Speaker 4 (43:48):
That's how the Spurs got Victor winn By now and anyway, man,
Bernard King is the lost guy in that era of
great players. And it's because of the injuries, and it's
because the Knicks didn't do crap when he was there.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Yeah, he's one of those guys with you're right, Ryan,
like Hubie Brown was his coach. My answer was about
to be like, well, you know, he got injured early,
so his career fell off. So it didn't happen. Man,
You look at his run like he first year in
the league twenty four point two, twenty one six, twenty
one nine, twenty three two, twenty one, nine, twenty six, three,
thirty two, nine, twenty two, seven, twenty seven, twenty two four,

(44:23):
and he even finished his career at twenty eight point
four an All Star Players good, not bad at all.

Speaker 6 (44:29):
Spinny his brother Albert King, by the way, he played
for the Nets.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
This is the This was highlighting the defense. It talked
about how the defense was for the Pistons in the Knicks,
and it talks about the New York Knicks picking up
and with the bad boys. They're kind of what you're saying,
keeping it alive in twenty two and taking up that mantle.
And they were a physical brand of basketball. They got
it from the Pistons, but they were they were no
slobses like you said. They had what Xavier McDaniel, the

(44:54):
X Man got fight had him Mason Charles Oakley.

Speaker 4 (45:01):
But it's so stick to me what happened with Oakley
and New York with Dolan.

Speaker 6 (45:05):
Yeah, I mean, it's a bad owner.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
It's a bad owner obviously, but I just hate I
hate to see a relationship like that break up, just
because you know, Oakley is one of the great Knicks
of all time, certainly of the last forty years. I'd say,
and it's that kind of player that you want to
see back in the spotlight, sitting in the crowd. But
he can't even get in the crowd anymore.

Speaker 6 (45:29):
They have facial recognition.

Speaker 4 (45:31):
He couldn't even seek it, no doubt that even seek it.
In nineteen nineteen ninety.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
Pistons, that was in the thick of the Pistons Bulls series.
But to get to the Bulls you had to go
through it was the Bucks. It was the Knicks in
that series.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
Pistons for one. Yeah, I get that. At the end
of the day, man, it's gonna be a good series.
Every time the Pistons or the Knicks play each other
in the playoff, it comes down to the wire. He
usually small margin games. There's physicality, there's coaching, there's superstars involved.
This feels very much like it did in the eighties,

(46:09):
like it did in the nineties. And I'm excited to see. Man,
we need new else a just needs some history. Not
new history. They just need some history. One said so.
But yeah, I'm excited, man, Kay, Kay's gonna have forty
I put that in the books. I put that in
the books. We covered pretty much all you can put

(46:29):
them up there.

Speaker 6 (46:30):
Love seeing the pictures anyway, Yeah, it's real fun.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
I look back, this is Patrick's coming out party. He
had forty points. I wanted forty five, forty five and
it was the only win they had in that series
because of Patrick. Let me ask you this, what's your
thoughts on Patrick Ewing? He talked about Bernard King, who
was Patrick Ewing? Because he's never a center that I
put like when I'm picking champion, even back well, even

(46:53):
back then, when I was a kid. I'm not young, young,
not Patrick, not Patrick. Why he never did it? He's
a slow player. Look up his numbers. His numbers are amazing,
and I'll read him off to you.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
But one dimensional player in the big moments.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
You didn't get that from Patrick, like Patrick Ewing outside
of that moment, and even in that moment, they still
lost that series. You don't have a Charles Barkley. I
know some Charles Barkley playoff moments. He never won a title.
Carl Malone, Well, I got a bunch of Karl Malone
playoff moments. With Patrick. It's like John Starks Dunkle on
the team.

Speaker 4 (47:26):
Uh, he was still the boss of the team. He
was the captain of the team. They followed him. It's unfortunate.
They just didn't have enough to beat the Bulls, not
enough to beat the Heat, beat the Pistons. They were
just second fiddle to those teams. They were very good teams,
but they were second fiddle to those teams.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
All right, second, but remember how he Remember in the
major moments when he faltered, Remember missing the free throws.
He's another individual missed two free throws and they would
have won instead. I'm just saying, like to be as
great as he was, he's got a lot of coming
up short more.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
Let me ask you just real quick, and of course
for you, but for Mas in particular, Patrick Ewings, orm O,
Patrick Ewing or Shaquille O'Neal, Patrick Ewinger, David Robbins, Patrick
Ewinger to Kenby Mutambo.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
Patrick Ewing. Okay, so you're.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
Putting him as the fourth best center of his era,
probably you.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
Know Alonzo Morning.

Speaker 6 (48:27):
One Championship.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Hey, I mean, I'm just and then if you want
to even he.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
Was supposed to put the knicks. He was supposed to
be the savior, and it turned out he wasn't the savior.
He got up to the finals, got up to the
Eastern Finals, got up to a couple of NBA finals,
but they could not win it.

Speaker 6 (48:45):
They could not win it all the way.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
The best chance was against the Spurs, and the strike
shortened year, and they just came up short.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
If you really want to make people mad, honestly, I'm sorry,
I'll make a lot of people mad here.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
I take Bill Lambier over Patrick Ywey. I would he was.

Speaker 4 (49:06):
I'm serious, I'm serious.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
Bill Lambier was. He was a bully. He was a bully.
I like him. He's our guy.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
But come on, man, he was a talent. He was
a savant. He what center was shooting threes in his era.

Speaker 4 (49:29):
Now, if you can't shoot a three, you can't play center.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
Yeah, but like him being able to shoot three. He's
a difference maker. He wasn't that much maker. He averaged.
His career average is twelve points a game.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
He led, He led the franchise and rebounds.

Speaker 2 (49:46):
Yes, because everybody else on the court was like, must
be too tight, Like come on, Ryan, like don't do that.
You like him? That's twelve point two career average. He
played in a different system. The system work for Bill Lambier.
You take Bill Lambier off that team and put him
in New York. Bill Mber is not gonna get it done,

(50:06):
all right. I'm just saying I don't like you, know,
I don't like Patrick you, but I ain't gonna hate
on the man. Well, we all got opinions.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
Jack Harrigan said, Hey, the next haven it once in
seventy three? No kidding, no kidding Jack. Anyway, always remember
it's a lot of fun, good stuff, thank you.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Just just leaders by rebounds per game, leaders in rebounds.

Speaker 4 (50:32):
Per game in the eighties and nineties. Okay, Moses Malone
was number one.

Speaker 3 (50:40):
Bill Lamber number two the NBA in the eighties and
nineties combined two decades. So he wasn't a slouch.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
No one said he was a slouch.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
You know what, Bill Lamber, you could say, Bill Lambert,
you could say it.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
Was more important than his team.

Speaker 6 (50:59):
Thing was, how about that? That's the best I.

Speaker 2 (51:05):
Could do for you? Well, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
I don't even know about that, actually, because Bill Lambert
was probably the fourth best player on the floor for
his team. Patrick Ewing was probably the best player on
his team.

Speaker 6 (51:17):
But they needed him, they needed Lamber.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
Oh god, yeah. Dennis Rodman obviously led the decade of.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
The nineties, and rebounds.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
But if you combined eighties and nineties Bill Lamber number
two on that list, rebounds per game.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
Lambier greater.

Speaker 6 (51:36):
What's the spread for tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (51:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (51:38):
Let's look. Tell me I had to guess. I haven't looked.
I would say Nicks.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
By oh four. I would say four and a half,
seven and a half. Wow, Oh man, take Apparently Jal
isn't that hurt?

Speaker 6 (51:57):
I guess not.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
Apparently.

Speaker 4 (51:59):
He's let's face it, he's gonna have a lot of
gas in the tank. He didn't play a lot. He's
gonna have a lot of gas and that that's what
helps the Knicks. And that last game they played against
the piss is that throwaway game.

Speaker 6 (52:11):
Don't think they're not gonna get something out of that game.
Like I told you.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Last week, I wish they hadn't had to play him
towards the end of the year, but they did. Tom
Thibodeau will have the Knicks ready and they're gonna try
to probably out physical them, try to slow him down.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
Let me just get the chat involved here. A little
bit crazy clown. He did things nobody else would in
the Lambier versus Ewing category. He was the heart and
soul of that defense. Billy Ball Ryan, are you smoking
over there?

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Ryan? Are you smoking? Bill over? Ewing? L m a
o uh is Bill in the Hall of Fame?

Speaker 6 (52:50):
Bill want as a coach in the w NBA for that.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
Bill was a role player. Patrick Ewing was a star.
I agree with mas, I don't even know what that is.
Ewing was a score, rebounder and shot blocker. Bill one
Coach of the Year. Bill Lambier was a star for
the Pistons. I don't care about the NBA inflation where
Jeff Green's numbers are better. That's a fun thing. I

(53:18):
love Bill.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Everybody's saying Bills that's from the same neighborhood as Home
Alone Callisters, probably his house they grow up.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
He was the only player in the NBA at the
time where his dad made more money than he did.

Speaker 2 (53:39):
Wow, that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
But imagine back then you're not making making them. I
think Isaiah, like the most he ever made in any
one year was four million. I think think about that now,
Isaiah would be a seventy five million dollar.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
A year player. Tom Brady was like that too. Yeah,
Tom Brady had that California real estate of that all right?

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Guys, we're gonna take a break when we come back.

Speaker 2 (56:31):
I just want to get my.

Speaker 3 (56:33):
Sanders out of the way here before we get to
some Lions.

Speaker 2 (56:39):
Milk Kuiper.

Speaker 3 (56:39):
By the way, has Schadure the number one player on
his big board, number number one quarterback on his big
board ahead of cam Ward. I want to put that
out there. And he did have a private workout for
the Giants today. No word on how that went or
anything like that, but I'll tell you why.

Speaker 2 (56:57):
I don't want him to go to New York now,
because I want him to succeed.

Speaker 3 (57:03):
And I don't know too many first round quarterbacks, and
maybe there are, and I just can't think of them
right now. Name me a first round quarterback whose coach
was fired after year one and that quarterback ended up
being successful at that location. Because I don't anticipate Brian

(57:27):
Dayball and Joe Shane remaining with that team.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
Past this year.

Speaker 3 (57:33):
I'd like Shador to go to an organization that has
a little stability and not going to be complete upheaval
and you start all over again with somebody that it's
not your guy now perhaps, and you have to start
all over again. So I don't believe the Giants are

(57:53):
the best situation for Shador because I don't believe in
the coach or the general man you're in building a
team that can help him succeed.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
Yeah, I don't think it's the right spot either, like,
because I believe it's an organization that was spreading those
rumors about him. Now, whether they were doing it to
try to get people to not take him so that
they can take him, they were very volatile in that.
So I don't want to go there because of that.
And then too, it's Brian Daboll. Brian Daball was the
offensive coordinator from Cleveland Browns in two thousand and nine
when I was there. I know who this guy is.

(58:24):
You also know who this guy is. Remember let me
tell you remember Danny Dimes. Remember the back of the
end zone and then he missed the throw and Dave
Ball comes to him and be rates him on the
sideline and throws the surface and breaks it down. This
is grown ass man. This is the leader of your organization,
and you be rating him like that in front of everybody. Oh,
I'm not done. You saw hard knocks. He's got his

(58:44):
feet kicked up as he's interviewing people like he's keen
tucking God almighty man, you know what's coming to me.
George Sanders goes there, you know what's coming and it's
not even shador because all it takes one of those
moments on TV, on this, on social and Who's coming
to New York Deon Sanders.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
That to me was an indication of who Brian Dabele
is as a person. Forget about the coach but hard
knocks off season last year where he has his feet
kicked up in a player interview, in a draft interview
with the player there, with the owner there, and you

(59:26):
have your feet kicked up on the table looking like
a freaking slob. There's no respect. I think Brian Daball
as a person that gave you every indication of who
that individual is. And I wouldn't want my kid anywhere
near that guy.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
I know some people that are in the car excuse me,
in the car service industry in New York. They drive
and when the people that I know that people used
to drive me, they drive James Dolan, they drive Brian Dable,
they drive Aaron Glynn. Now that's the car service they
have a lot of the people have complained the big dog,
my guy talking about Brian dabas when they work with him.

(01:00:04):
What type of guy he is, what he says, how
he treats those individuals. This is just coming from drivers.
If you can treat somebody like that like this is
who you are. You saw on the sideline. You also
see it with these the chauffeurs. He's just a guy
that doesn't care. He's a selfish individual and he's a prick.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
So again, just mass before I get to you, just
to let everyone know where I'm coming from. I think
it is good for the league. I think it will
bring so much good for the league if Sanders is
good in this league, not just a player, not just
somebody that fizzles out, not a Caleb Williams who I'm

(01:00:41):
rooting against, not only because he plays for the Bears,
but because I want to be right, you know. But
he plays for the Bears, and I don't want him
to succeed JJ another story. I do want him to succeed.
That's my guy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
Also Legos, he's a fun Yes, well it's part of it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
It's good for the It is much better for the
NFL if Schaedor is good than if he's bad.

Speaker 6 (01:01:06):
Tom Uh, He's gonna go to the Giants.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
And if the Giants did spread those rumors, he wouldn't
be there working out for him because his dad wouldn't
let him go work out for them. They already said,
I don't want to play in New York. I don't
want to play in New York. First he said I
want to go to New York. Two weeks later, two
weeks ago, he said, we're gonna go anywhere, but we
don't want to go to New York. He's gonna go
to New York if Cleveland messes up and passes on
him and takes Travis Hunter instead. If Cleveland goes and

(01:01:32):
goes takes Travis Hunter, which they'd be crazy to because
they should take Sanders, he'll go to the Giants. And
guess what if Brian dabel Well I don't like either.
If he fails, Joe Shane fails, guess who's coming to
New York next year to coach? Yeah, Bill belzeg I
heard no deon Sanders. Dion Sanders will come and coach

(01:01:52):
to New York Giants. That's my prediction. If they fail.
And if they take him, it's not like our idiots
here that one and took Uh. Who again? I forget
the Jeff Rakudah. Jeff Akudah, they took a Coudah because
they wanted to keep their job instead of taking a quarterback.
If this team takes a quarterback, they're not looking to

(01:02:12):
save their job. They're doing what they're told to do.
They're being soldiers. They're doing what they're told to do.
And if the Giants fail miserably, they gonna get canned anyway.
But if they do well, maybe they could save their
jobs as long as they put the right people around them.

Speaker 6 (01:02:27):
I still believe Sanders goes to the Giants and he succeeds.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
I gotta get you pushed back on not the second part,
the first part, that it wasn't them that spread it
because they got him in there. That means absolutely nothing.
People have said a ton to dissuade individuals from drafting
a certain individual. And it's not Joe sanne is saying,
and it's not Brian Daboll, but it's some intern somewhere.
It's some media outlet that they're dropping those gyms from.

(01:02:51):
So I've seen it happen before, but I just think
now with day Ball and how they are and witha
the NFL is now they don't care. The respect level
isn't there like it used to be. So what you say,
maybe that's a little truth to it. Now people just
make up stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
Can I just can I ask a question? It may
be a silly question, but is there any chance whatsoever,
any chance that Jerry Jones goes up from twelve and
takes Sanders? Any chance at all?

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
I guess you know he's not going up to three.
But if the Giants do pass on Sanders, I could
see a scenario where Dallas moves up, trades Dak and
gets Shador. Because if there's one coach in the NFL
that is literally on a one year window, it is

(01:03:46):
Brian Schottenheimer.

Speaker 6 (01:03:49):
Then they give him a five or six year deal.

Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
It doesn't matter. Does that matter?

Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
No, because William's got a seven year deal.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
Because now that would be the best case scenario for
the league absolutely to have primetime tour and prime time
in Dallas within two or three years.

Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
Here you go. The Dallas Cowboys last traded up in
the in the draft in twenty twelve, when they moved
up with a six peck to take Morris Claiborne. They
also moved up in twenty ten to drive wide receiver
number eighty eight.

Speaker 6 (01:04:24):
That's how I think the trade is Briant.

Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
If they go up, they're gonna get the guy that
was visiting the Lions here from Tew Golden, Matthew Golden.
I could see go to the Dallas Cowboys. I could
see that moving up to get a guy to pair
alongside uh, what's his name, Ceedee Lamb?

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Hey remember when the Dallas Cowboys had Ceedee Lamb and
a Mary Cooper. It was a good idea to get
rid of Mariy Cooper and hey, what's his name? Keyword?
What's his name?

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:04:49):
Number, He's been a lot of what's his names in Dallas?

Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
No Number thirteen? Gallup, They're Gallup. They paid Gallup and
got rid of Marik Cooper, and he just so happened
to have a two hundred yard year next year in Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
Make the pro bot love anyway, So I just go ahead.

Speaker 5 (01:05:04):
I was just gonna say, looking at New York, if
they're gonna draft Sanders, which I think they will, and
I know the the Brian Dables situation isn't great, but
Jalen Hyatt and Malak Neighbors is a pretty good wide
receiver situation for him to walk into, especially with how
well and accurate that he throws the good tight end too.
It's you got weapons in New York, you just don't
have the coach yet.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
And you you know, abdul Carter becomes a little bit
of expendable there for the Giants because you got Brian
Burns and Keveon Thibodeau.

Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
You know, get Lawrence in the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
Well absolutely, But on the edges, yeah, you know, abdul Carter,
where would he fit?

Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
You get three of them?

Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Give one of one of those guys the Lions expensive, right.

Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
God, just get to the Lions.

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Seven picks in next week's NFL draft. It'll start with
pick number twenty eight on Thursday, and then two picks
on a Friday, number sixty, and then a compensatory pick
in the third round, which we'll end up being pick
one h two. Will they wheel? Will they deal? We
don't know. We just don't know what the Lions will do.
But Mel Kuiper and Field Yates did in every other

(01:06:14):
mock draft, and it picked number twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
It was Kuiper's pick.

Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Mike l Williams, edge rusher from Georgia says, we talk
a lot about the Lions pass rush opposite Aiden Hutchinson.
Let's fix it. Williams can beat blockers with his explosives
and he has even more upside for the new Lions
defensive coordinator Calvin Shepard to unlock. So Kuyper likes Williams,
Braylan likes Georgia defenders. So how do you feel about that?

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
Braylan? Yeah, I'm cool with that because this will give you.
This will give you a chance to stay at twenty eight,
not have to you know, trading his draft capital or
anything else. You just stay at twenty eight. You get
a guy from Kirby Smart's team. I went through the
long list of players that have had since coming out
of George in the last four years, and he'd be
another one. Last year he had ten and a half sacks.
He led the team in sacks, Ladies and gentleman, excuse

(01:07:03):
me for that. He's a player. And I told you
about the defensive coordinator. I told you about that d
line coach. You just gotta trust what works. You look
at those Georgia players, they're working the NFL, and if
the formula works, you use it. Last time I checked
the Lions, they love Theabama. They love Alabama, right, Does
Jamier Gibbs work check? Does Jamison Williams work We believe so?
And does Brian Brands work check. That's how George is,

(01:07:28):
especially on the defensive side of the ball. Kirby smart.
He coached under Nick Sabans. So I think you're getting
the same type of guys, the same type of prowess. Yeah,
it will work for me. I still like Jaylon Walker better,
but just worked.

Speaker 6 (01:07:40):
Just to let you know.

Speaker 4 (01:07:41):
Mel's got Ward to the Titans, Travis hundred of the
Browns all dual card to the Giants, Will Campbell from
Michigan to.

Speaker 6 (01:07:48):
The Pats know Lsu.

Speaker 4 (01:07:52):
I'm sorry, Will Campbell LSU, offensive tackle Mason Graham Michigan
to the Jags, Ashton gent to the Raiders, and then
offensive tackle from Missouri armand Membu to the Jets, and
Braylen's guy, Jaylon Walker number eight to the Carolina Panthers,
which makes Schador Sanders slide all the way to number

(01:08:13):
nine and fall into the Saints.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
Lap and Tyler Warren to the the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 4 (01:08:19):
To wrap up, he's six foot five, man, I didn't
realize he's a freak.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:08:24):
Man, he looks small and that that Penn State white
and blue beautiful.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
If they don't get you're you're true about that because Mike,
Mike and City is like six to six. He did
not look Penn State until you see him jump in
the air. Yeah, but uh, where was I going to
That's what I was gonna say. If the Bears don't
get as gency, if he goes to the Raiders, Yeah,
that's a that's an amazing spot for the Raiders and

(01:08:50):
Tom Brady and that team. You're talking about getting good fast.

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
But yeah, and yeah, I mean, uh, it's gonna say, like,
what would Carroll make a trade with Chicago to get
more assets maybe over the next two years. That could
be a potential situation as.

Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
Well as only a running back right as they look
at thefl.

Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
Right, he's only a running back, but he could be
the running back of this draft. I mean, unless you
feel some kind of way about Trayvon Henderson at Ohio
State that you can get probably in the second round,
we'll see will Will Johnson by the way, Michigan cornerback
Miami Dolphins at thirteen. Next pick, Indianapolis Colts, coast In
Loveland tight end from Michigan. A lot of people have

(01:09:33):
Loveland going to the Chargers at pick number twenty two.
If he's out there, Jimmy Henshall, absolutely that would be
something if that worked out that way.

Speaker 4 (01:09:44):
But wow, they got the Seahawks taking the guy that
the Lions supposedly in love with. This Gray's Abel the
Garden Center from North Dakota State. He's going at eighteen
and that's Milk Hiper's pick as all as well, I said,
Shamar Stewart, isn't that the.

Speaker 6 (01:10:01):
Guy that HIF loved.

Speaker 4 (01:10:06):
Yeah, they both loved this guy even though we only
had four and a half sacks at three seasons.

Speaker 6 (01:10:11):
The edge from Texas, A and M. They got him
going to the Packers.

Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
You know, I heard I think this was on Get
Up yesterday or the day before, but it was whenever
this three.

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
Round mock draft came out.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
I thought this was really very insightful when it comes
to these mock drafts because they were talking about field
Yates and mel Kiper and Matt Miller who also does
ESPN draft analysis, and they were like, how do you
come up with these names? How do you come up
with these names? It was really interesting process because these

(01:10:43):
guys talked to so many scouts and executives about particular players,
and he said, when we talked, we compile all that
information and they go with a consensus pick. So you
get a group of general managers, you get a group
of scouts, it's a consensus pick. But we know that

(01:11:07):
drafts are not picked by consensus. They are picked by
one person normally, and that is where you get the woe.
And they led to they gave the example of Michael
Pennix to Atlanta last year. Of all the conversations that
they had last year, not one person mentioned Michael Pennox

(01:11:29):
to Atlanta. But what did it take one person to
be in love and make that pick? And it blows
up your mock drafts. It blows up. It tells people
you don't know what you're talking about. All that stuff.
So this is based on It's like a car accident.
It's a consensus. You know, we could all talk everybody

(01:11:50):
in this room about our evaluate or pretend like we're
all NFL scouts, we all work for NFL teams, and
we all come up with our player rank and we
say to uh, kool aid, Hey kool aid, we're gonna
take should door Sanders at number three, and everybody, yeah,

(01:12:13):
I mean that's the picks. All of us agree, shoudueer
Sanders is the pick stick comes in. I like Jackson
Dart darts better.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
I want Dart.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
And it's like because not one conversation was had last
year where they thought Panis would go ahead of JJ
and and and Nicks, and he did because it just
takes one person anyway. I say that because it was
such an insightful way to get to this mock draft.
How these come to be.

Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
I told a story a bunch of times, Spinney, but
I don't think you've heard it. And end, I don't
think Mickey may have heard it. I was supposed to
go to the Miami Dolphins in two thousand and five.
That was a team that was on me, was recruiting hard.
They came up to my prote I talked to him
all the time, and that's the team I thought. I
never had any dealings with the Cleveland Browns. Never knew anything. Well,
I mean I knew they existed, but I didn't have
any dealings. The owner saw the triple overtime game, Randy

(01:13:07):
Lerner around the time of the draft. I was the
only player for him. After that, Romeo Cournell was our
first year head coach. Romeo Cnell's one of the best
what defensive coordinators of all time? Like the owner, excuse me,
the general manager, Phil Savage, he wanted defense, like that's
what they wanted. Randy Lerner, who wasn't around anyway, saw

(01:13:28):
that game in March and told them I want Edwards
and that's what they did and it caused it. I
didn't know this, but unbeknownst to me, that's what caused
a lot of friction general manager and the owner versus
It was a lot. But they didn't want me. They
wanted defense. The owner said, I want number one for Michigan.
So that's a that's a real And now I know

(01:13:50):
who doesn't like you, the coach in the GM coach.

Speaker 6 (01:13:55):
It's like, what did I do if they passed on you?
Who do you think you go.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
To Chicago? Because they want to put me on the
other side of Moussin And then I pay musse In
and faz Mussei Muhammad.

Speaker 6 (01:14:08):
A Michigan state or and a Michigan guy.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Minnesota, Randy was gone. They didn't have any wide receivers Minnesota.
And then Matt Millan and my dad. They've known each
other for years. He was at my pro day. He said,
I'm trying to find a way because Lions had ten
and twenty seven or ten to twenty eight. He said,
I'm trying to find a way to get Brayley. So
I would have either gone four seven or ten. I

(01:14:32):
would have win. About Mike Williams. Here's where you still did.
Let me just play Devil's advocate.

Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Here, here's why you don't go forward to Chicago.

Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Cedric Benson would go ahead. Oh yeah, what is it?

Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
The reason why you wouldn't go number four to Chicago?

Speaker 6 (01:14:47):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
Because David Terrell and he messed it out.

Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
You know how many times? Like David Terrell was what
eight overall?

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Was he eighth? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
Eighth overall to Chicago, Boston, Chicago. How do you sell
that to the fans that we're gonna come back four
or five years later and come back four or five
years later and drafted another guy from that program? You
know what I'm saying, How do you sell that to
your fans?

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
Dave's Michigan State game. But you see what I'm saying,
You're right, it'll be kind of like the Jeffuda situation
like drafting another dB at three from Ohio State. No, seriously,
you're right. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
Back to the draft for for a second. Piper's got
Mikel Williams ads to Georgia for the Lions. Four picks later,
Jahad Campbell, Alabama linebacker to where.

Speaker 6 (01:15:45):
The Philadelphia leave.

Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
Now, I'm telling you right now, if that happens, you
could bank that Jehad Campbell bowler will be the Pro
bowler over Michel Williams.

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
Well.

Speaker 5 (01:15:57):
I love Jihad Campbell. He is If I'm doing pound
for pound player rankings, I think Johadd Campbell is a
top five player in this draft.

Speaker 6 (01:16:04):
If he goes thirty two, I'll throw off.

Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
He's probably going to It's gonna be James Pierce or
Jahad Campbell for the Eagles, and both of those guys
are gonna be good.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
I love John Campbell.

Speaker 5 (01:16:13):
I'm big in a linebacker play and what he does
all around the field, flying around everywhere, making plays in
the past game, at the at the quarterback, stopping the run.
He is going to be a steal for somebody late
in this round. I wouldn't be surprised if he was
the best player in this draft. When it's all said
and done, this kid is a freak fact.

Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
Now, when you say linebacker play, does she wear? Now,
I'm just messing around, but that would be a sick
linebacker coy. You look at it. You're talking about Bond
with Nikobe Dean with Shaha, hey man, the rid get Rich.

Speaker 6 (01:16:50):
You're not kidding, man, whatever do you look at?

Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Philadelphia is gonna get a They're gonna get a guy
that they're gonna turn.

Speaker 6 (01:16:56):
Into it all pro. I don't know how they do it,
you know what.

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
They're so mad? Hold on, we got it. We gotta
take a step back. We gotta take a step.

Speaker 6 (01:17:04):
Back, man, how jam man?

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
No no no, no, no, no no man, no no no, no, no, no, no, no,
good no. I'm not gonna let y'all do that. I'm
not I'm not gonna let you do that. They've had
a head start, like you're trying to compare against somebody
that they won in twenty eighteen, which means they have
been cooking since two thousand and fifteen sixteen, give or take.
So they got us by a solid eight years.

Speaker 6 (01:17:28):
So it's okay, how you're right, man.

Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
Just gotta star Bras gonna catch up. You're right.

Speaker 5 (01:17:33):
But as soon as as soon as I ain't heard
about James, because James Pearce, he's my number two addresser
in this draft. I think he's the second best addresser
in the draft. As soon as it's just his get
off his bend at his size is insane. Like his
first step off of the line, he is like a
lightning bolt getting back there and at that size with
his and he finishes at the quarterback too, He's not

(01:17:54):
no you know, breaking arm tackles, nothing like that. He
gets his hands on here, you're going in the dirt.

Speaker 4 (01:17:58):
Guess where they have Pierce going to the Chiefs forty third,
the San Francisco forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
I don't know. I saw him dropping a couple of
mock drafts. I don't know. That's drout to forty three. Now,
that is a drop.

Speaker 5 (01:18:12):
They throw the uncoachable word around.

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
They yeah, that's the thing. Yeah, let me just be quiet.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Well you know what let mean don't be quiet because
Brad Holmes talked about this yesterday. Uh he talked about
I forget what the question was. The question to him was,
how do you evaluate one of the guys had an issue?

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Yeah, I forgot.

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
I forgot which player it was, So I'm not even
gonna throw a name out there because I'm not gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Do anybody like that. I don't know if it's true
or not.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
But one of the guys in the draft had an
issue and they said, how do you.

Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Evaluate that player? Is he on your board? Is he
not on your board?

Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
This set and the other thing, And he was like,
we want I forgot what the quote was, but I'm paraphrasing.
We want people little fit in the locker room. That's
what we said. We want good fits here in the
locker room. And it's just like, okay, man, you win,
You've done it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:09):
I don't won yet.

Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
You've done it your way. I'm not gonna argue with you.
But if this player goes on to be another guy
like a Jalen Carter, well then you just start to
ask some questions about your method your methods, and how
to evaluate building a team.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
I'm not going to say anything to what he should
and shouldn't do. It's his opinion. It's how he runs
his organization, and he've had a ton of success so far.

Speaker 6 (01:19:39):
Better work.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
I hear you, mass, I hear you. I just think
to be completely a great culture, to be a complete
good locker room, to be a complete team like that, Like,
not everybody is a four point those student from Harvard.
Not everybody's a I don't even want to say choir,
but not everybody is a good a good kid, a
good egg. As you say, that has good on this

(01:20:02):
side and oh, by the way, good on this side,
and everybody's like that.

Speaker 5 (01:20:05):
Not everybody plays the piano.

Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
Like, not everybody plays the piano the end of the day.
Some people you take and you get them there. Like
when you could take a player and then that player
has a little bit of something that came out of
when he was in college, when he was eighteen or
nineteen or twenty, and you're able to bring him in
your locker room and then he can have success and
then be proud of him in the community. Like this is,

(01:20:28):
like this is that's the quintessential job of a coach.
That's the corner central job of Like, yo, you got
these guys there, now it's important. I just think you
gotta take some chances cause you keep driving all these
choir boys, and good job. Congratulations, burned five bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:20:43):

Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
Absolutely so, guys, here's what I want to do here
I want to play a little game called over and under.
What I did was, I went back and I looked
at the Lions leaders in passing, rushing, receiving, tackling, interceptions
says five, five categories, and I'm going to show you

(01:24:30):
what their stats were in.

Speaker 2 (01:24:31):
Twenty three twenty four.

Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
I have made my own stat line for twenty twenty five,
and I'm going to ask you if you believe they're
over or under spendy do we have these graphics. Let's
start with Jared Goff. Okay, start with Jared Goff. Jared
Goff in twenty twenty three, look at the right hand
side of the screen. First, look at the right hand

(01:24:54):
side of the screen. First, twenty twenty three, forty five
hundred and seventy five yards, thirty touchdowns, twelve interceptions. Twelve
interceptions by the way, in twenty three and twenty four,
I mean incredible numbers similarities yardage wise, twenty five and
twenty fifty four more yards in twenty four than he
had in twenty three, thirty seven touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
So this is my.

Speaker 3 (01:25:18):
Stat line in twenty twenty five. I'm gonna go right
Smack dad, I'm gonna go a little bit lower than
his twenty twenty three number. By the way, I'm gonna
go forty five hundred and fifty yards, thirty five touchdowns,
and twelve interceptions. Braylan all three categories over or under.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
Yards under, touchdowns, under, interceptions over. I think there'll be
a more run based team this year. I think still
be some pass. It still will be some electricity with Jamo.
You know that's my guy, Amar Rossaying Brown is one
of the elite receivers in the league, so you will
get the pass game, but I think it's down this year.
I think they focus on the run. So I thinker

(01:25:56):
under and I think over.

Speaker 3 (01:25:58):
That's a tough year for Jared guff if that happens.

Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
But it's not necessarily though. Like quarterback, quarterbacks throw interception
these days, there's only one or two quarterbacks that are
gonna be seven or less interceptions. I'm not mad at
it's seventeen games you throw fourteen interceptions. Yeah, I'm I'm
gonna have a fit in those moments, But over the
duration of a season, I'm not like, forty five hundreds
a lot of yards. If he goes forty two hundred,

(01:26:21):
I'm not mad at that. If he throws twenty eight touchdowns.
I'm not mad at that either.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
Just keep in mind it's forty six and twenty nine yards.
Mass was second in passing. Ye the thirty seven touchdowns
was fourth in touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (01:26:34):
I'm gonna say, because John Morton is now the offensive
coordinator and Ben Johnson is off to I guess brighter pastors,
I'm gonna go under on all three of those categories.
And again, I think he's gonna be very good this year.
And like Braylan said, they're gonna go to the run
a little bit more. I think they're gonna be a
little bit more. They're not gonna have as many trick

(01:26:56):
plays as we did before. So I believe Jared Golf
will have a nice easy year this year. And I
got under for all three of those things, and of
course I've got under of wins too. Sorry, all right,
let's move on to Jamiir Gibbs. Here, Gibbs, hold on,
ask Spenny, Oh, Spenny.

Speaker 5 (01:27:15):
I'm gonna go over on all three of those. I
think that yes, they're gonna focus on the run a
little bit more. But what John Morton likes to do
as well is a tack down the field of the
vertical passing. I think Jamison Williams is gonna have a
big year. I think he's gonna be around thirteen hundred
yards receiving, and I think they're going to attack down
the field. That will lead to more interceptions, but it
will also lead to more touchdowns in a higher yardage total.

Speaker 7 (01:27:36):
Ricky Burns, I'm with mass under on all I think
Jarrett Goff just him is going to have less of
a load this year for multiple reasons.

Speaker 2 (01:27:44):
I feel you, I feel you on that.

Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
I'm gonna go yes, and I think the offensive coordinator
has a lot to do with it. I'm gonna go
under under under on all three as well. Jamiir Gibbs.
Ladies and gentlemen, look at the right hand side of
the screen. First twenty three, nine hundred and forty five yards,
ten touchdowns, twenty twenty four fourteen hundred and twelve yards

(01:28:06):
in sixteen touchdowns. So, by the way, sixteen touchdowns tied
for first in the NFL last year in touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
At sixteen, this is a good number for touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
His rushing was fifth. It was fifth in the NFL
last year.

Speaker 2 (01:28:24):
Fifth.

Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
So I'm going up on the yards. So I'm gonna
go fifteen hundred yards rushing for Jamier Gibbs and fifteen
touchdowns one less.

Speaker 6 (01:28:37):
I'm going first. You'll go ahead, because you know that's
my guy.

Speaker 4 (01:28:41):
I was gonna ask a question way over, way over
over fifteen hundred siventeen hundred yards rushing and I'm gonna
go twenty touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (01:28:50):
Wow, Wow, because I believe he is the best running
back in the game.

Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
I'm going next, Dan, No, He's not going seventeen hundred
yards because at the end of the day, did you
guys forget that the other running back that almost had
a thousand this four games last year? Did you did
you forget that?

Speaker 10 (01:29:07):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Did you get that?

Speaker 10 (01:29:09):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:29:09):
Like Jamiir Gibbs got the fifteen hundred yards, but he
got what in the last three games over five hundred
and sixty yards or whatever it was.

Speaker 4 (01:29:16):
Yeah, and guess what they saw that and they're like, oh,
maybe we should give this guy the ball. The only
thing they didn't do is give him the freaking ball.
I guess, Washington.

Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
So that's my point. David Montgomery is a part of
their package. They love having thunder and lightning. I can't
see Jamiir Gibbs getting seventeen hundred yards how many yards
of David Montgomery getting two hundred three hundred, So the
twenty seven hundred yards between that and and Jared Goff's
throwing for five.

Speaker 6 (01:29:40):
Thousand, No, I had him under.

Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
I'm just messing with you that would make that correlates
though for both of you. Well it does. I'm just
saying with the David Montgomery though, like, if he's getting
seventeen hundred, what does that leave David Montgomery put the
stat back up there from me? Please? Oh yeah, I
can see him.

Speaker 6 (01:29:58):
Gave me the she Sorry, man, It's okay. So it's
easier for you to love all right.

Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
Over on the touchdowns, under on the yards. Alright, that's
all your game. Over on the touchdown and under in
the yards.

Speaker 3 (01:30:16):
Okay, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go over in the
yards and over in the touchdowns. I look, all season long,
it was Montgomery Series one and then Gibbs Series two.
I believe this year it's gonna be Gibbs Series one
in Montgomery Series two, and I think the buy in
from Montgomery will be one, he's got his money, Two,

(01:30:40):
he's got his stability. In three, you've got longevity now
like you are, you will last longer in this league.
Your body will last longer within any particular season now
that you don't have to carry the low like you

(01:31:00):
did perhaps in twenty three.

Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
And that's what I'm talking about, by them not having
to carry the load, like they know what's gonna work
for Jamiir. They want Jamiir for the for the total
of his time here. They want him longer than just
six years and then move on. They want him to
be a ten year back here and maybe more. In
order to do that, you know how you do it.
You have to split the car. I was saying you
from Montgomery. You say his body, But what I'm telling

(01:31:25):
you is to say both of them. Jamiir is your stud, lightning, exciting,
electric player that everybody that when he's cooking, he wins
you games. Everybody loves Jamir. In order to keep that cooking,
you gotta rest him the time, and the split is
how it happened. You're not gonna start I'm cool with
him starting him the series now. If you want to
start them serious series one, that's fine. He could take

(01:31:46):
the first series that still does the play together. But yes,
and why it's gonna be the same thing. It's just
in the reverse.

Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
I believe that this guy Morton is not gonna be
like Ben Johnson. I don't think he's gonna see them intermittent.
I think you're gonna see him whenever. Right, That's just
the way I look at it. To me, that was
something I never really saw before until Ben Johnson did it.
I've never seen in my life watching football that each
guy gets a series. To me, you put a guy

(01:32:15):
in whenever the hell you want to put him in,
and that's the way I would do it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:18):
I'd put them both freaking in Spenning. Let me, oh,
go ahead, break sorry. I know your guys didn't they
go fifteen to two last year.

Speaker 6 (01:32:25):
They did, then they lost.

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
Well, they lost because through a lot of other inimittigations
characters though, so it's not just because of how they
spent the time. Yes, I'm still pissed they didn't start
Jamir Gibbs in the Commanders Game. I told you what
happened that they did. I don't care that they had
to leave. If you start Jamir Gibbs, you do not
go three and out. When you go three and out,

(01:32:46):
you know that does to the defense. Oh shoot, they're
not that good.

Speaker 3 (01:32:49):
I think all three of us, all five of us,
I think all five of us in this room, though,
are kind of on the same track here where we
believe they're gonna rely less on Jared Goff in the
passing game this year, and they're gonna rely more on
the run game this year. So those four hundred yards
that Jared Goff won't get this year, maybe it goes

(01:33:11):
from forty six to forty two, those four hundred yards
are gonna be replaced on the ground split between Gibbs
and Montgomery.

Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Yeah, so that's where you're taking those I agrees. I agrees, Betty, Yeah,
I agree. I think I think he's gonna.

Speaker 5 (01:33:25):
Go over I don't know he's gonna be over twenty
two hundred all purpose yards.

Speaker 2 (01:33:31):
I'll say that.

Speaker 5 (01:33:31):
I don't know about the rushing to receiving split exactly.
I think he'll be over sixteen touchdowns as well. I
think he's gonna be fourteen to eight, Yeah, exactly, fourteen
and eight something like that. Because this guy is a weapon.
I think he is going to contend, if not win
Offensive Player of the Year next year. And he is
just an absolute weapon that you could put out there

(01:33:51):
at any opportunity on any down and distance.

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
And as I talked about.

Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
John Morton being the offensive coordinator, you also brought in
David Shaw. And you know he likes to run the ball,
that hardball offense, that at Stanford offense. He likes to
run the ball lot, so expect him to get some work.
And I agree, like I love David Montgomery. I want
nothing but Jamiir Gibbs between the twenties, right inside the twenties,
short down and distance. Give it to Manti, give me

(01:34:18):
Jamiir Gibbs in the open field. Y.

Speaker 2 (01:34:20):
Yeah, he said exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:34:22):
I was about to bring up the new coordinator. So,
I mean, I think he's gonna go over on everything
but the touchdowns. Don't think he's gonna get so many.

Speaker 2 (01:34:28):
Touchdowns two thousand, martiall Fo became the second running back
to go with a thousand yards, was rushing and receiving.
Come on, Jamire, you'll turn my guy.

Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
I'm on Ross Saint Brown in twenty twenty three, fifteen
hundred and fifteen yards, ten touchdowns. Twenty twenty four pulled
back a bit on the yard. It's twelve hundred and
sixty three yards. But increased the touchdowns. Look at the
right side of the screen. Last year fifth in receiving yards,
third in touchdowns by twenty twenty five projections twelve hundred

(01:34:58):
and ten yards. Excuse me, no, thirteen hundred and ten yards.
So I'm kind of in the middle between twenty twenty
three and twenty twenty four and then eleven touchdowns right
smack Dad. In the middle of twenty three and twenty four, Braylen.

Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
Under under I got him around eleven forty and eight
to nine touchdowns or so, I mean he goes hand
in hand, and we'll be talking about limiting the past
is a little bit this year now limiting to wrong work,
relying more on the run, if you will. And then
same thing I said, Spinny agrees, I love it. Who

(01:35:35):
you said was gonna have a big year. Jamo's gonna
have the big year. I thought last year that Jamo
was gonna have the fourteen and Amarra will have the eleven.
I think it's now gonna be this year. I think
Jamo will have more yards than I'm about two track year.

Speaker 4 (01:35:50):
So yeah, mass I'm gonna go like that, but I'm
gonna do over on the touchdowns under on the yards
and I'll say he'll stay with twelve to thirteen touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
So every so everybody on the team is going fifteen touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (01:36:03):
I don't know. Only talked about two players.

Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
How many touchdowns the jam I'm gonna have his yees.

Speaker 6 (01:36:08):
I don't know. Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
I know, but I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:36:13):
I'm not answering the question, just being funny.

Speaker 2 (01:36:15):
Ask that you got Jamier is getting twenty touchdown like
getting fifteen touchdowns. I'm just messing with you.

Speaker 5 (01:36:24):
Fine, Benny, I'm gonna go underun the yards and over
on the touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:36:32):
I think that get him too, if you look at it.
I'm gonna let him talk. I'm Saint Brown.

Speaker 5 (01:36:38):
Since he's entered the league has been the second best
red zone threat in the NFL, behind only George Kittle.
They like targeting him on those rub routes, on those
quick slants in the red zone, those Jared golf plant
throw type throws. So I think that Jamison Williams is
gonna get a lot of the downfield shots and a
lot of the attacks. But if he gets tackled or

(01:36:58):
it's just they end in the red zone, I'm Rod's
gonna get a lot of those red zone targets. That's
where they like to use him. So give me an
under on the yards, but over on the touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
You ready imagine you're you ready, no spinning. I disagree
he will not go over on the touchdowns. A lot
of what he was able to do those trick plays,
and some of them weren't trick players. There were just
some new nuances to Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson no longer.
Every time he scored in the red zone, it's some
type of player. We were like, man, did you see
he can't He did double motion and he did this,

(01:37:27):
he was on this side, and then he caught the
pass on this side. Actually he threw the pass to
Jared Goff on this particular play. A lot of those
things in the red zone they were Ben Johnson. So
I gotta see if Jay Moore is gonna bring the ors,
just gonna get a ball.

Speaker 7 (01:37:40):
David Montgumer Ricky, I agree, he's gonna be under on everything, unfortunately,
because they're just not gonna pass as much. And I
feel like Amaran, a lot of his good plays were
where he was scrambling.

Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
There had some time.

Speaker 7 (01:37:50):
I don't think you're gonna have a lot of those plays,
so I'm saying under on it all.

Speaker 2 (01:37:54):
I'm gonna say under under as well.

Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
And the only reason I'm gonna say under on touchdowns
is because I do believe I'm on Ra's touchdowns were
elevated last year because of the lack of connection with
Sam Laporta in the red zone. I think Laporta is
gonna come back and be a big part of the
offense as well in the red zone. So where Laporta
will be three or four touchdowns up, Amon Ra will

(01:38:17):
be three or four touchdowns down, So I expect him
to have around nine or ten next year. So again,
it's all the same. I'm just shuffling where they're going.
The numbers are good, though, yeah, I think so. It
took me a little bit of time to do this.

Speaker 2 (01:38:34):
Jack Campbell.

Speaker 3 (01:38:35):
Guys, look at Jack Campbell's numbers on the right side
in twenty twenty three, ninety five tackles. In twenty twenty four,
one hundred and thirty one tackles, he was a nineteenth
in tackles with one hundred and thirty one. I'm going
one hundred and forty five tackles over or under for

(01:38:55):
Jack Campbell and I'm gonna lead this.

Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
One off and I'm gonna go over. I am Jack Campbell.

Speaker 3 (01:39:01):
One hundred and fifty plus touchdowns, the leader in the
NFL last year, had one hundred and seventy three tackles.
So I'm gonna go one fifty for Jack Campbell next
year and that would put him in the top ten.

Speaker 5 (01:39:14):
I'm going over you, Ryan, I'm going one to fifty five.
I think Jack Campbell solidifies himself as a top five
linebacker in the NFL this year. Last year, when you
look at his play where you throw him around there,
he was borderline top ten, like ten to fifteen is
where you throw Jack Campbell in there. I think he
takes another step. I think coach Shepard being a linebacker,
coach being now the defensive coordinator, he's gonna have a

(01:39:36):
lot more say, Jack Campbell's gonna have a lot more freedom.
He is gonna be the green dot full time next year.
I expect him to kind of take the mantle because
Anzeloni's last year on his deal is next year. You're
not resigning Azeloni with all the guys that you have
to resign, He's gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
Be a cap casualty.

Speaker 5 (01:39:53):
Jack Campbell is gonna take that step forward and be
a dog next year.

Speaker 4 (01:39:57):
Dog, I'll go before you because I know that's your
favorite guy. I'm gonna take over on the tackles as well.
I'm gonna go with Buck fifty Buck fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:40:08):
Five, one hundred and fifty tackles.

Speaker 3 (01:40:10):
I'll say, if he had one hundred and fifty tackles
last year, that would put him at eight last year,
So I mean top ten.

Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
You know, if we get that, that's right.

Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
The defense is good.

Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
If he's on the number one hundred and forty five
like I put in there, that would put him at tenth.

Speaker 6 (01:40:28):
Okay, I'll even take that.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
I On the other hand, you know how I feel
about Jack Campbell. I think he's going to to walk
out now. I think his numbers will be above it
this year. I think last year with alex Well Alex
Angeloni going down, you saw that he was ready to
take over this year.

Speaker 10 (01:40:45):
Road.

Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
The other thing about it, too, is having Alex Angeloni
and Kelvin Sheppard for the past three years. It taught
him the position. He didn't have to come to Detroit
two years ago and jump right in. He was able
to learn behind baby floor and it's worked for him,
so I'll go over as well. He's shown that he's
a player that you can trust. He can move positions,
he doesn't just play one. So yeah, Jack, he's going

(01:41:06):
over this year and he's gonna be a stunt Ricky.

Speaker 7 (01:41:08):
I just gotta take the moment to say, you guys
are really really good at what you do, because every
single time I have a thought, one of you say
it better than I even get think. And it's just
you guys. Impressed Watson, y'all. Sometimes y'all said everything I
was gonna say.

Speaker 3 (01:41:20):
Let me say one final, one issue, one final note
about Jack Campbell. Seventeen games played in twenty three, seventeen
games played in twenty four. The best ability is availability availability.

Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
That's the Iwaha guys man.

Speaker 6 (01:41:36):
That's why they loved them. Just the guy loves football.

Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
Final over under guys, you know where I'm going, Kirby
Joseph in twenty twenty three, look at the right hand
side of the screen. Twenty twenty three four interceptions, twenty
twenty four nine interceptions, which led the NFL last year
over under six interceptions in twenty twenty five for mister
Joseph maz over over.

Speaker 4 (01:42:01):
I'm not gonna show you he's not gonna be over nine,
but I'm gonna put him right in the middle there.

Speaker 2 (01:42:06):
Seven. Oh, I'm going under. I think five this year.

Speaker 6 (01:42:10):
Wait, is he getting paid before the season?

Speaker 2 (01:42:13):
Yes, he's getting paid.

Speaker 4 (01:42:14):
Yes, Okay, this one of the check that change the
ansid because usually when they get paid, they'll be a
little under. When they want to get paid, they're gonna
be over. So I'll just I'll play in the middle here,
I'll play I'll play seven or eight.

Speaker 5 (01:42:29):
Le go five, I'm going way over. Listen, Kirby's my guy.
You know, someone, some handsome Debonair individual that's sitting in
this booth said before you know spring practice even started
last year, that Kirby Joseph was gonna lead the NFL
in interceptions. He goes out there, he does it, and
remember he did it without Aiden Hutchinson for three quarters
of the year. You get back one of the best

(01:42:51):
pass rushers in the NFL to make those quarterbacks they're
gonna be playing a lot of good ones, so they're
gonna be throwing the ball a lot this year. Give
them that extra second hesitation when you got big hutch
breathing down their neck. That'll let Kirby get some more interceptions.
I think he's gonna be at eight or nine again
this year, Ricky.

Speaker 2 (01:43:07):
I agree.

Speaker 7 (01:43:07):
I think he's gonna be over because you think he's
gonna have his full defense there and he's just gonna
shine man, very very simply over.

Speaker 2 (01:43:14):
I'm gonna cop out push right other number and six
right other number. Guys.

Speaker 3 (01:43:24):
That was fun, absolutely all right, guys, you wanna take
a break, come back. Red Wings ended their miserable season
last night.

Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
Off tomorrow it starting good.

Speaker 3 (01:43:34):

Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
All Right welcome back, guys. Red Wings lose last night.
I actually wasn't even watching the I turned it on
for a little for like two minutes. So it was
three two Wings in the third period. I go back
to the Tigers game and watching the Tigers game. Then
I landed on the postgame show because Kevin Burkhardt was
doing the Tigers postgame show last night.

Speaker 2 (01:46:25):
Watch one and he's the best.

Speaker 3 (01:46:28):
And then Maz texts Braylan and I and says, red
Wings lost.

Speaker 6 (01:46:33):
I said they gave.

Speaker 4 (01:46:35):
I turned off the Tigers so as they were winning,
so I put on the Wings three minutes to go.
It's a good broadcast, Kenny and Mick.

Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
It's fun.

Speaker 6 (01:46:42):
So you're listening, you're watching.

Speaker 4 (01:46:44):
Toronto has got a big winning streak going, but from
what I understand, they didn't play most of their big guns,
but they got him out in the last three minutes,
so they're trying to keep the winning streak going. The
Wings is trying to win game number forty, and they
got a couple of other things they wanted to get
Patty Kane sixty points.

Speaker 6 (01:46:59):
He had fifty. So they're up three to two and
with two seconds to go, one point eight to be exact.
Toronto just peppers them and they score, so it's going
to overtime. Did they do that to get Patrick Kaine
a point?

Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
And no, they didn't do it. No, they didn't do it.
They didn't want to go to overtime. But then Nicky
is like, all right, let's let's do this. Let's get
Patty Kane get a sixtieth point thirty seconds into the overtime.
Toronto one shot in boot game over. Red Wings stop
at thirty nine wins for the year. Two other guys
did okay this year to brink it thirty nine goals,

(01:47:35):
eighty points for Raymond and thirty goals for Dylan Larkin,
but just not enough. Five points out of the last
playoff spot. The Red Wings finished. Playoffs start tomorrow and
listen to the teams that didn't make it. The Rangers
last year they won the President's Trophy best record. They're out,
the Bruins, they're out, the Penguins, they're out Islanders.

Speaker 6 (01:48:00):
Who else is out?

Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
Well?

Speaker 4 (01:48:02):
The size Detroit. Calgary scored ninety six points. It's the
most points for not making the playoffs. They didn't make it.
Vancouver's out. But the other original sixteam that didn't make it.
Chicago didn't make it.

Speaker 3 (01:48:16):
That's it's a tough playoff. Four your six original for
the original six don't.

Speaker 4 (01:48:21):
Make the play of the Canadians and who else made
leaf The least could do damage, guys, the least could win.
I got playing the Senators. The Senators made the playoffs
for the first time in a long time. So the
Battle of Ontario. I'm telling you right now, put your
money on Toronto to get out of that first round.

Speaker 3 (01:48:42):
Shanahan's still there, right, I don't even know.

Speaker 5 (01:48:45):
No, I think Shanahan left last year.

Speaker 6 (01:48:47):
I don't even know.

Speaker 9 (01:48:49):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:48:49):
The manager is not with edm No, the manager's not
Edmonton made it again. So your matchups are the Kings
and the Oilers in the West, the Stars and the Avalanche.
What's going to be off the Hook, the Golden Knights
in the Wild, and this one is gonna be a
hell of a series. The Jets of the best record
and the best goalie and Connor Hellibuk against the Blues,

(01:49:10):
who were red hot going into the last couple of
weeks of the season. The Blues could upset the Jets.

Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
When did the name Connor become the nameing hockey?

Speaker 6 (01:49:20):
You're right, good call.

Speaker 4 (01:49:22):
And on the East you got the Bolts and the Panthers,
Battle of Florida, the Caps and the Canadians, the can
the Hurricanes and the Devils. Devils always get the Canes.
Devils can't beat the Hurricanes, and the Leafs and the Senators.
Starts tomorrow should be fun. Tough call, man.

Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
I'm gonna go Oilers, Maple Leafs.

Speaker 4 (01:49:46):
Wow, Canada, finally now we're give them their first championships
is ninety three?

Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
Yep, they're doing it this year.

Speaker 4 (01:49:55):
I'm gonna shock everyone. I'm gonna say the Blues in
the West and in the East, I'm gonna say in
the Caps.

Speaker 5 (01:50:03):
That would be a good one. I got, I got Stars, Capitals.
I think I think Dallas gets through to the finals
this year. They're a wagon right now. Obviously they went
and got Ranting in So you just got another player
to throw out there. Uh yeah, give me the Stars
of the Capitals and give me the Capitals to win
it all.

Speaker 2 (01:50:17):
Dude, give another cup.

Speaker 6 (01:50:18):
Before he only has a cup, give.

Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
Him another one. Oh me, let's see here. I'll go
with Edmonton Oilers. I feel like every year I picked
Austin Matthews and I get lit down. But here we go.
Shout to Tom t give me Toronto Mableley's versus DJ Todd,
and I'm taking Connor. Yeah, this is a year ten
for him. Nick David, this is it for Loost.

Speaker 4 (01:50:43):
In Game seven, the Panthers shouts, hey, no one, none
of us picked the Panthers to repeat.

Speaker 3 (01:50:48):
I'm actually rooting for the I wanted to say for
the manager. The manager, by the way, is Ken Holland.

Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
We love them.

Speaker 3 (01:50:58):
He always refers to himself as the manager, never the
general manager. So I gotta love Ken Holland, even though
he's not with Edmonton selling vacuums again. Right, very good
Tigers tonight h ten straight games at home. Last night
they beat the Kansas City Royal six to one. Three
hits from Riley Green, he needed that, Torko stays hot.

(01:51:22):
Eight hits between Torque Green and Carpenter. You're gonna win
every night.

Speaker 4 (01:51:27):
Yeah, tonight you got Jackson Joe going see how long
they let him stay in the game. And the ace
for the Royals is Cole Reagan's. He's gonna be tough
to beat Tonight. Royal is a favorite Tonight the park tonight,
ma I was gonna go, but it's Kathy and Maddie's
like last night here before spring break, So I'll stay
home with the ladies.

Speaker 5 (01:51:44):
Here you go, I don't want to get to baseball
nerdy here. But like what Rhys Olsen did yesterday with
his change up, it's so this Tigers team and this
Tiger's pitching pitching coaches.

Speaker 2 (01:51:56):
Chris Fetter.

Speaker 5 (01:51:59):
Michigan, Michigan, Chris Feeder is the best pitching coach in
the MLB.

Speaker 2 (01:52:02):
They've found this.

Speaker 5 (01:52:04):
They call it seam shifted wake, which is what they
used to have these change ups cut down and away
towards the arm side. You see it on Schoobles. Schooble's
got one of the best change ups in baseball. It
started last year where he learned that, and now you're
seeing Rae Olsen have it where they're throwing these change
ups at eighty nine to ninety miles an hour and
the seam shifted wake has them cutting away with like

(01:52:24):
seventeen inches of run away from batters.

Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
It's just crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:52:28):
They're getting these wipeout pitches.

Speaker 2 (01:52:29):
That was inside baseball. Yeah, like you said, it was amazing.

Speaker 5 (01:52:34):
Last night. He had five strikeouts on his change up
schooble against the h who was it. When the school's
last start, he had five or six strikeouts on his
change up. It is a swing and miss pitch. And
they've found the seam shifted wake that they're implementing amongst
their pictures.

Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
It's crazy Tommy Major Knowledge Major. It's one thing that
hears something. It's another thing to read it. It's another
thing to be able to come on the show and
other quick like you just did. That's top not Hey,
I got a note from Peas. I got a note
from go Pete Cook.
