all of that, but more importantly, subscribe to the podcast. I'm kicking
it solo today without Andrew's dealing withsome personal stuff, so it's just gonna
be me today. I apologize ifyou don't like the sound of my voice,

(00:50):
but it's just me Lanscaparrosi by himself. I'm the Everything Pistons Podcast.
It's gonna be a short one aswell, because I need my partner in
crime, my co host, Andrew. But hey, deal with it today.
According to James Edwards, the Pistonsdon't seem that interested in Jade and
Ivy. I'm not really sure.James Edwards said that word for word that

(01:11):
they weren't interested, but you cango check out the Bunt and Cardigan show
and he talks about that. Basically, they're hot and cold on Jade and
Ivy's gonna come down to the interviewfor him. But I believe, and
I'm doing this for memory. Thebig board, according to James Edward,
would be mathin Sharp, Murray inIvy, maybe Murray and Sharp or flipped,

(01:32):
it's whatever. But Ivy seems likeit's seems like he's out for the
Pistons, which is a little upsettingbecause I love Ivy's game and he's number
one for me at five. Ifhe's picked one through four, I'm not
gonna be that disappointed. I canlive with that. But if he's on
the board in the Pistons go anotherdirection, I'm gonna be very sad for
at least seventy two hours. I'mgonna be upset because I really love Jade

(01:56):
and Ivy's game. I think hefits in really well right next to Kade.
I think that is a match madein basketball Heaven. Feel free to
disagree, that's fine. I justthink that is the best possible fit in
the best outcome for the Detroit Pistons, but hey, they know more than
me if the Pistons do go inanother direction. Though, from Jade and

(02:16):
Ivy, I am getting really excitedabout Benedict Matherin. Man, I'm really
starting to love his game. Ireally am can hit the three ball,
he can create for himself a littlebit. I believe he can be that
secondary playmaker next to Kade. There'sstill a little room for that to be
desired. Defensively, he shows alot of potential and promise. Needs to

(02:39):
work on a few things like closingout a little stronger, continuing to fight
through those screws, you know. But Benedict Mathern, I think he might
be the safest pick in the NBAdraft. I love him at number five.
And you know, even though Isaid I'd be disappointed that the Pistons
passed over Jade and Ivy, Imean, man, I can get excited
about Benedict math and I'm actually Ithink I'm actually starting to love his fit

(03:04):
in his potential on the Pistons morethan I am Ivy's. And this is
the reason why last on last week'sepisode, I kind of compared this Detroit
Pistons core to the Boston Celtics Core. I know I've made some comparisons to
the Thunder in the past as well, but just listen up. So Game
four of the Miami Heat Piston series, the Pistons were watching that game while

(03:28):
you had Kade, you had IsaiahLivers, you had Isaiah Stewart, you
had Killing Hayes, Dwayne Casey. They were in the crowd and I made
the comment that I believe they werewatching Boston, and I kind of went
with in Isaiah Stewarts. You know, they're probably talking Isaiah Stewart. Watch
how how Al Horford plays with RobertWilliams, you know, kind of get
a feel for how those who areworking. You know, then you can

(03:50):
see, you know, Kade andthe Jason Tatum. I'm not comparing the
two players, the two totally differentplayers, just talking about their roles on
their teams, and yeah, youcan kind of see it. And if
you are still making that comparison,if you're still falling along with me,
the Pistons need that Jalen Brown type. And that is why I'm falling in
love with Benedict Mathrin. I believehe can be that number two next to

(04:14):
Kade Cunningham, where you know, the defenses, they're not always going to
focus in on him. He's stillable to do his thing. Kade is
still the guy. He's going tocreate quality looks, get open buckets for
Benedict Mathron, and he's able todo a few things with the ball similar
to Jaalen Brown. Maybe a lotof people don't love that comparison, but
I am really feeling that this youngPistons team is being built similarly to that

(04:36):
Boston Celtics squad that is in theNBA Finals. Now you get you're building
it around the perimeter. You gotyour Tatum type and Kade You're gonna have
that Jalen Brown type, and BenedicMathrom. You got that Marcus Smart type,
and Kelly and Hayes, you gottayou know, you got your Grant
Williams, Isaiah Liversid de Bay,whatever you want to say. You got
Isaiah Stewart. Not again not comparinghim to Al Horford, but a similar

(05:00):
role. You can see that. You can definitely see that with the growth
of Isaiah Stewart, especially if hecontinues to shoot three ball next they just
need that athletic foe man that canblock shots and you know, kind of
switch out on the perimeter. Ibelieve that's gonna be Mitchell Robinson, but
who knows. You know, theygot they're definitely building something in Detroit.
I think it's similar to Boston andBenedict Mathron makes the most sense at five

(05:21):
after IVY if you're looking at itin the same way that I am.
So again, I would be disappointedif I wasn't wasn't picked, but I'm
really feeling the Benedict Mathron pick.I know a lot of guys still love
Keegan Murray, a lot of youfans out there. That's fine. You
know Kegan Murray. He's gonna bea solid player as well. I just
again, I've talked about this before. I just think its positional redundancy with

(05:44):
him, Saddeke and Jeremy Grant.I believe that Jeremy Grant, you know,
there's still a chance he could gettraded. I lean more that he
won't be traded. I think there'sstill a lot of value for him on
this team, even though he's alittle bit older than Katee Isaiah Killian in
this draft pick and Sadek, it'sjust that, you know, I mean,
not even thirty yet you know,he could play here for a few
more seasons, you know, bethat veteran, that guy that you know

(06:09):
can kind of mold himself or puthim back into that role player mode and
they're gonna thrive with him in thoseroles. So who knows. But anyways,
I just think his positional redundancy withKegan Murray. He can do a
lot of things offensively. But whatI have been begging for since the Pistons
drafted Kade cunning him is to findthem a secondary playmaker and a guy that
can create and get his own bucket. I don't believe that's Kegan Murray.

(06:31):
You know, there's some highlights outthere. There's a ton of draft videos
that you can go watch for yourselveswhere they talk about that being the one
weakness in Kegan Murray's game offensively isthat he really can't He's shown some flashes,
but he really can't create his ownshot. And I think that is
such a valuable piece that the Pistonsare missing. So that's why I'm not
as high on Jade and I onKeegan Murray. That's why I'm hiring Jade

(06:53):
and Ivy. That's why I'm higheron Benedict Mathern, So you know we
got some options at number five.I'm really still hoping for Jade and Ivy,
but I will definitely fall in lovewith Benedict Mathruin because it seems like
he is more to the pick andyou know, personally love that fit.
Just don't love it as much asI love Jade and Ivy next to Kade
cutting him all right? This nexttopic comes from Reddit. You have to

(07:14):
pick one, and then you haveto explain why you have to pick between
Marvin Bagley and Mo Bomba. Theyput some contract numbers up there. We'll
just say that they're gonna be signingfor about the same amount. We'll say
eight to ten million a year forthree years. You know who are you
taking out of those two? I'mtaking Marvin Bagley all day, every day.
In eighteen games, eight starts forthe Pistons, he averaged fifteen and

(07:34):
seven, fourteen point six and sixpoint eight to be exact. That's a
solid six man and that's a rolewhere I expect Marvin Bagley to thrive in.
Let him do his thing offensively offthe bench. Pair him with Killy
and Hayes. That becomes a dangeroussecond unit. Look, Marvin Bagley is
never going to be a world beateron defense, like you're never gonna do

(07:57):
that. He can't do that. It's just not an his game. That's
not in his DNA. But offensively, offensively, this dude could be one
of the best off the bench inthe NBA six to eleven. Can shoot
the three ball, He's pretty creativedown low. He's just an offensive machine,
someone that you can just give theball to and just say, go
get us a bucket. Especially ifhe's playing in that second unit. It's

(08:18):
a match made in basketball heaven.I promise you that Marvin Bagley off the
bench is a six man. Thatis what I want to see. Look,
I like mo Bamba. I doaverage two blocks per game, shoots
thirty eight percent from three and fourattempts per game. Those numbers are great.
But I went back and I watchedthem, you know, And the
funny thing is when you type inmo Bamba on YouTube, you're finding that

(08:39):
song first by check West. Butanyways, Mobomba a lot of talent.
I similar to Marvin Bagley, hasnot lived up to the draft spot.
They're both kind of injury prone forsure, but man, it's just the
effort from Obamba from what I youknow, the effort when you watch,
when you go back and why,it's just doesn't seem like it's always there,

(09:01):
doesn't seem like he's always engaged it. I just don't want that for
Detroit. And plus he looks alittle stiff as a center. I want
a more fluid athlete playing in thefront court with Isaiah Stewart, with Sadique
Bay, with Kade these guys. These guys aren't They're not overly athletic by
NBA standards, So we need anelite athlete at either the two guard or

(09:24):
the four spot. You know,we do got Jeremy Grant in this scenario.
If they're signing a Mo Bamba orsomebody, or Mitchell Robinson, whatever,
Jeremy Grants not in the team, will just remember that. But you
need an athletic presence, someone thatis just a freak at in the front
court. You need that. AndI just don't believe that's Mobamba. I've
always been intrigued by him, thoughI went watched him live against the Pistons.

(09:45):
It was Kay Cunningham's debut, Ibelieve against the Orlando Magic and you
know, Mobamba, he's freak Likehis arms are so long. I've said
this before, Like the only wayhe can put his hands in his pockets
are on cargo shorts. Like hecan open the door standing in the middle
of the room. His reach isridiculous. The wingspan is like a terror
dactyl. I wouldn't be surprised ifMo Bamba could fly. That is how

(10:09):
That is how much I've been leavein that wingspan. But again, I
just think he's an average athlete. The effort doesn't always seem to be there.
I don't know why. I knowthat Orlando is not really the best
franchise. They drafted and traded fora lot of bigs. They had Voussivic
when they drafted Bomba. They've madea lot of questionable decisions when it comes
to drafting in terms of developing theiryoung guys. Even look at the guards,

(10:31):
like, you got so many thatI don't know how any of them
even breathe with that many guards onthe roster roll in the same age.
But again, back to Mobamba,I'm out for him on Detroit, you
know. I mean, if there'sa way to get him and Marvin Bagley
find so be it. I wouldtake it, you know, I mean,
I like again, I like MoBamba, but if it comes down
between him and Marvin Bagley, I'mtaking Marvin Bagley. I'm taking him all

(10:52):
day, every day, just becauseof what he can bring offensively. I
know we need more rim protection, but again, you can find someone to
come off the bench and do that. Isaiah Stewart. You know, we
know how good he is defensively.I would rather have the Pistons go in
a different direction and try to signMitchell Robinson to kind of be in that
Rob Williams role for the Detroit Pistons. Very athletic, big, he can
block shots, he can rim roll. He's shoots like seventy three percent from

(11:16):
the field at the rim. Imean, so Mitchell Robinson, I'd rather
go with that type versus am Bomba. And another reason why is because I
do believe in Isaiah Stewarts three pointshooting. I think he's going to be
the floor spacer in the front courtalong with Sadiq Bay and you know whoever
you know, And then allowing whoeverelse they bring in at the four,
whether it's Jeremy Grant or Mitchell Robinsonor somebody else, they'll have enough room

(11:39):
to operate and do their thing.Anyways, I'm talking in circles. It's
Marvin Bagley for me. This wasa fun little topic. We came up
with bigger bust Saco Damboyer or HenryEllison. Saco Damboyer was drafted fifteenth,
Henry Alison's drafted eighteenth. I thinkit's a fun little comparison. Saco's the
bigger bust. He's the bigger bustfor sure. He's played two full two

(12:03):
years in the NBA, signed withthe Lakers, played two games before he
got waived. You know, heshowed a little promise, showed a little
flash. I just don't think themotor was there. I don't think the
effort was there. I don't thinkhe was, you know, a guy
that really wanted to put in thework to be great. You know,
I mean he had everything. Iwas just reading his Wikipedia page in his
coach out in France. Actually comparedhim to Lebron James and said he's a

(12:24):
monster with a baby face. Youcan go find that on Wikipedia. I
just think that's silly. I neverreally saw the Pascal or Gianni's comparisons for
say Ko either. I don't liketalking negatively about him. I only talking
negatively about any basketball player. Putsay Ku, for sure is the bigger
bust. Look, Henry Ellison, you know he played like four years in
the NBA. He played more gamesin the NBA than say Ku. Like

(12:46):
there was there. Obviously wasn't muchthere, but there was enough for teams
to say, like, hey, let's give him a shot. And you
know, he played. He playedin the NBA for four years. Sakoh
did not. Who knows if thatcontinues for Sayku. He made very well,
may sign a contract later next season. I don't expect the team to
really give him a chance other thana ten day But we'll see for Sako.

(13:07):
But the bigger bust is definitely Sayku. There was so Look, I
loved the pick at fifteen. Ithought, when you're my belief is when
you are drafting at fifteen and you'rein a position like the Pistons were where
they were an eight seed can bouncedout of the first round. It was
just one of those things where youhad to take and swing for the fence

(13:31):
when and that's what Saku was.He was a swing for the fence pick.
That's what he was and fell shortof the fell short of the fence.
It's all happened with Saku, butI definitely love to pick at the
time. All right, final topicof the podcast on this solo venture I'm
doing today, We're talking Colin Sexton. Rumors have surface that the Detroit Pistons,
along with a few other teams, have shown the most interest in young

(13:54):
Bull. Look. I love ColinSexton. I think he fits alongside alongside
Kade very nicely. I really do. If you're not gonna get a guard
in this year's draft, if youdo, go Keegan Murray. I want
to get the shot creator in thefree agency, and I think that is
Kylin Sexton. Look, he averagedtwenty four points in his third year in

(14:15):
the NBA to go along with threerebounds, four assists, one steel per
game, shot forty seven percent fromthe field, thirty seven percent from the
three point line. He I mean, he had high usage. It was
like at thirty this was a badteam. They were twenty two and fifty
that year. But Kylin Sexton,Man, this is a guy that if
I look at the numbers, andI'm looking at the shooting numbers, I'm

(14:35):
just gonna share these with you guysright now. The percentage of attempts he
had from zero to three feet thirtypercent, three to ten twenty six percent,
and then the three point line thirtypercent. So he's either shooting threes
or get into the rim, oryou know, get inside ten feet and
probably hit him with the floater. That is what he's doing. In that

(14:56):
third year, when he averaged twentyfour points per game, from zero to
three feet, he made sixty twopercent of his shots three to ten forty
six percent. Last year he onlyplayed eleven games, but he was making
seventy four percent of his shots atthe rim. The biggest thing I like,
the biggest difference between him and JalenBrunson for me is Colin Sexon attacks

(15:18):
the rim. He gets after it. He uses that athletic ability to get
to the rim to try to finish. I like that. I think you
need that if you are a smallishguard. It can't just be shooting threes
or you know whatever Jalen Brunson does. I need someone that's going to attack.
Give me that Terry Rosier type playingalongside Kate. I know it's not

(15:39):
ideal, but if the Pistons dogo Keegan Murray in the draft. I
want to see them go after aguard that can score and create his own
shot, and that would be ColinSexton. For me, look out of
all of the big name free agents, this seems like the most reasonable pickup
for the Detroit Pistons. I don'tthink it's a in. I've seen some
people throw Zak Lavine's name out there. I don't think that's possible. I

(16:00):
don't think. I think Jalen Brunsonhe's either in New York or he's in
Dallas, and yeah, he ain'tcome into Detroit. The reason I say
sound Colin Sexton is the most reasonableand probably the most likely because he was
hurt last year. You know he'scoming off an injury. There's gonna be
a lot of teams that stay awayfrom him because they don't want to deal
with that. They don't want towait for him to bounce back. Because

(16:22):
injuries they can be tough on players. We don't know how they're gonna respond.
But Colin Sexton, though, theenergy, the competitive nature, the
drive, all of that factors in. When it comes to Colin Sexton,
I think he will be fine. That is a guy that I want the
Pistons to go after if they havea real shot at him, like sign
him in free agency, bring himin. I know he said he wanted

(16:44):
starters starting guard money. I don'tknow what that is. But if that's
the case, you know, takethat contract off the table for him.
Just forget about Colin Sexton. Butif you can bring him in at a
reasonable price and he can produce ata high level with that level of efficiency
like he did in his third yearwhile limiting the usage, yeah, I'm
taking him in Detroit because I thinkhe would fit in real nice next to

(17:07):
Kaid Cunningham. All right, guys, that's all I have for the podcast,
