Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sometimes in life, God brings you to a point where
you have no answers, no idea of what to do,
and no idea of which direction to take. If you
have come to that time, there is an answer for
you today. Please take your Bible now and turn to
(00:24):
the Old Testament, the Book of Second Chronicles, Chapter twenty.
We are going to read about one of the primary
characters of this historical book of the Old Testament. We
are going to read about a king of Juda named
je Osephth, who was giving several chapters of this book.
Is a No Testament figure from whom we can learn
(00:46):
some lessons. Look at Second Chronicles chapter twenty. Begin reading
from facet number one. We will read this story and
then we will draw some applications to the idea of
what to do when you don't have the answer. In
Second Chronicles, Chapter twenty, phase number one, the Bible says this,
after this, diarmies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of
(01:10):
the Maleites declared war on Jeosepheth. I want you to
know that the Harmonites and the Moabites were a continual
problem to history. They plagued history as a people. They
were a continued and ongoing problem to the people of God.
We read in the previous chapter that King Jeosephath had
(01:32):
an alliance with King Ahab. King Ahrab was a wicked king,
and Josephath was wrong to make that alliance. You see,
this is an interesting thing. It is better to do
some things alone than to make an alliance with somebody
who is wicked. Sometimes it is better to go alone
than to make an alliance with wickedness. Sometimes it is
(01:55):
better to do it alone. When Josepha didn't do that,
it seemed allways, King Ahrab and faced Good's judgment and wrote.
As a result, this time he faced Morephoulans, as the
Ammonite and others called him to battle and war. In
Phasis two and three, the Bible says, messengers came and
(02:16):
told Jeosaphath, a first army from Iidom is marching against
you from beyond the Dei Sea. They are already at Assa.
Saint Thamar this was another name for Hengedi. Jeosephath was
terrified by these nails and begged the law for Guidians.
He also ordered every one in Juda to begin firsting.
(02:40):
He was terrified when he heard that the enemies were coming.
But what did he do? He made the right choice.
He set himself to seek the face of God. He
proclaimed a first throughout Judah and begged the Lord. For guidians,
this is the king, this is the leader. He set
a sample nationally by publicly proclaiming a first and seeking
(03:04):
the Lord. Thank God for a man who doesn't think
he has or the answers, but look or to go
for help in a challenge institution. We need such a king,
We need such a leader. Jeosephath simplified this pattern perfectly.
He prayed, he sought the God of Heaven. Not only
did he do that, but also proclaimed fasting and prayer
(03:26):
throughout Judah. King Jeosephath is proclaiming a first across the nation.
He says, it is time to get serious with God,
as they were in deep trouble emphasis four to night.
The Bible says, so people from all the towns of
Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the lost hepp Jeosephath
(03:49):
stood before the community of Judah and Jerusalem in front
of the new courtyard at the Temple of the Lord.
He prayed, O, Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone
are the God who is a Nevin. You are ruler
of all the kingdoms of the height. You are powerful
and mighty. No one can stand against you. Oh our God,
(04:13):
did you not drive out those who lived in this
land when your people Israe arrived, And did you not
give this land forever to the descendants of your friend Abraham?
Your people say to Ay, and built this temple to
honor your name. They said, whenever we are faced with
any calamities, such as war, plague, or famine, we can
(04:36):
come to stand in your presence before this temple, where
your name is honored. We can cry out to you
to save us, and you will heroes and rescue us.
What a tremendous prayer of jeousephert. Now in Phasis ten
to twelve, the Bible says, and now see what the
armies of armor, Moab and Mansell are doing. You will
(04:58):
not let our sistors in feed those nations. When Israel
left Egypt, so they went around them and did not
destroy them. Now see how they rewards. For they have
come to draw us out of your land, which you
gave us as an inheritance. Oh our God, won't you
stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that
(05:20):
is about to attack us. We do not know what
to do, but we are looking to you for help.
I want you to notice the end of Face number twelve.
Josepha said that we didn't know.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
What to do.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
God, we are in a position where we don't know
what to do. Yes, Ago, I teamed up with Ahab,
the wicked king of history, and we fought some battle together.
But God, it displaces you. And now what Josepha was
saying is this. I no longer teamed up with the wicked,
(05:53):
but my back is against the war. God. I don't
know what to do. God, I'm facing a problem that
I don't know how to deal with. God. I'm the leader,
I'm the king, and the one ex better to make
the military decisions. Yet I don't know where to turn to.
How of won't have you felt that way in life?
(06:16):
That God, my back is against the war. I don't
know what to do. Many people have felt that way
at one time or another. Have ever had a family crisis?
And if there is war, what do your children look
up to? They look at you? That is why, as
you lead your home to God, you better move close
(06:36):
to him. You better know God of Heaven, You better
know the Bible. You better know the word of God,
the Word of life. Get familiar with his world. Understand
this cripture. You need to know God and what it thinks,
so that when the crisis hour comes, you can borelyter
your family that this is what the Lord, what a
(06:59):
us do? Jeosephth was in the crisis. It's generous had
come and they said, there was a mighty army. They
are going to match upon you. There those who have
been scout, perhaps in the desert and wilderness, had seen
these armies gathering together. It looked like a tremendous force.
And they brought back a bad report, and they said, Jelosephth,
(07:24):
you are the king. What we do? You can say that.
In Phase number twelve, Jeosepheth confessed openly before his God,
I didn't know what to do. Thank God for that
little word. Look at the other first, he said, but
we are looking to you for help. This is a prayer.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
God.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
We don't know what to do, but we'll look up
to you for help. I want you to know that
not knowing what to do, it's not the same. If
your eyes are in the right place. God, we don't
have the answer, but our highes upon you. Look at
first number thirteen. As all the men of Judah stood
(08:05):
before the Lord with their little ones, wives and children,
they say they don't know what to do, but we
look to you for him. Now fast fourteen. The spirit
of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there.
His name was Jerhasee, son of Sakhariah, son of Benaiah,
(08:25):
son of j son of Matta Naya a liphight was
a descendant of herself. Now he was a prophet. This
man Jerhassee was a prophet. In fase number fifteen, he said, listen,
all your people of Judah and Jerusalem, listen, King jeousephth
this is what the law says.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Do not be afraid.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle
is not yours. But girls, now post for a moment.
We've just talked about coming to a point where you
don't know what to do. And the prophet came to
the king before all Judah and said, the battery is
not yours, but God's. You see, when you come to
(09:08):
a problem in your life and you don't know what
to do, and you can figure out which direction to go,
and you are uncertain of exactly what to do, and
you go to the Bible and you are seeking to
follow all the biblical principles, yet you still don't have
the answer. Year me, this is an indication that the
(09:28):
battle belongs to God. There are times in life when
God brings you to the point where you have no answer,
where you have no idea of what to do, and
when you don't know which direction to go. At that
moment in your life, the buttery is not yours. The
battle belongs to God. All you need is to seek
(09:48):
God's face watching and see what it will do. So
the prophet informed King Jerousephath. He said, the battle belongs
to God, not yours. Now in Phasis sixteen and seventeen,
the Bible says, tomorrow, match out against them. You will
find them coming up through the ascent of Cease at
(10:11):
the end of the family that opens into the wilderness
of Jerue. But you will not even need to fight.
Take your positions thence dansty and watch. The lost filtree
is with you, or people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do
not be afraid of discourage. Go out against them tomorrow,
(10:31):
for the Lord is with you. Oh, that is interesting.
You are ready to confront your problem. But the prophet said,
you don't even need to fight. You don't need to
fight this battle. Then he gives some advice. You see,
you may be saying, what if I'm fighting a problem
that I don't know the answer to, that's a good
(10:51):
indication that your problem is not yours to solve. If
you don't know the answer, it is a good indication
that the issue is know something you can solve your safe.
The butt belongs to God. If the battle belongs to
the Lord, as Josepha said, you must do certain things
to turn the battle over to him. Now turn back
(11:12):
to face number th eighteen. Look there for a moment
with me, as all the men of Judas do before
the Lord, with their little ones, wife and children. What
do you do when you don't know what to do?
Number one? Look up to God with your whole family.
Look up to God with your whole family. That is
(11:33):
finding face number thighteen. And I want you to underlie
the idea in your mind with your whole family. Look
up to God with your whole family. Look up to
God with your whole family. The Bible says that old
Juda and their little ones, wives and children stoo before
the Lord. When you don't know what to do, look
(11:56):
up to God with your whole family. You are responsible
for your and God designed man to bear the brand
of responsibility. Why did they do that? Because you are
the man. You are responsible, and the problem has been
brought to you, do something about it. But sometimes there
is something you can answer. When a crisis in the
(12:17):
room cannot be resolved, you must lead your entire family
to God, who has the answer. There are some things
you can't answer, and when you come to that point
were you can answer, do not go alone. Lead the
old family to God. Look up to God with your
whole family. That means the crisis will teach your family
(12:39):
that it is not just you will have the answer automatically,
but that you bring it to God, who has the
answers when you don't. They must know that you don't
have all the answers, but you know the God who
has all the answers. That makes all the difference in
the world. Joseph had said, our bags are against the war.
(13:01):
We don't know what we will do, but we know this.
Let's get everybody together, let's pray, Let's seek the face
of the Lord. You must look up to God where
you don't know what to do. Your children needs to
know of parents will look up to God where they
don't know what to do. Be willing to admit that
you don't have all the answers, and sometimes you don't
(13:24):
know what to do, but you know the God of heaven.
Let's pray and sick answer from above. Let's pray and
seek our answer from God you seek. Joseph As did
this as the admens gathered ready to infade Judah. He said,
let's get all the families together, and let's pray and
(13:45):
seek the Lord. Number two. When you don't know what
to do, look up to God without fear. This is
so important. Look up to God without fear. In phase fifteen,
you've gathered your family together, and now the prophet was
going to give an idea of what needs to take place.
In firse number fifteen, he said, listen, all your people
(14:08):
of Judah and Jerusalem. Listen, King Jeousepheth. This is what
the law says. Do not be afraid. Don't be discouraged
by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours.
But girls, don't be afraid. Now listen carefully. When your
back is against the war. You must look up to
God with her fee. If you are a Christian, if
(14:29):
you're a child of God, you can face any circumstance
in life without fear. Josephah, did they have for the answers,
And it is okay that you may not have for
the answers. Lead your family to God, but yearmy please
do so with her fee. The prophet said, geosurpherth, get
everybody together and a God and all together. And the
(14:51):
Bible made us to know that they prayed, and then
he said this today, to do so without fear. Don't
be afraid. I want you to know today that no
circumstance of your life I ever doubting to you is
difficult with God. You can rest in God's absolute love
for your life and not worry about the circumstances. Notice
(15:14):
in phase number fifteen what the prophet said. He told
the king not to be afraid or discollege by this
mighty army. There is a huge problem, but don't be afraid.
There is a serious problem, but don't be afraid. Look
up to God with that fear. Take your whole family
to the throne of grace, and look up to God
(15:36):
without fear and then toddly, let me say this. Look
up to God to do what you cannot do. Look
up to God to do what you cannot do. We
are talking about the problems that you can not solve.
And at the end of face number fifteen, the prophet said,
the battle is not yours. In Fase number fifteen he said, listen,
(15:58):
all your people of Judah and Jeeruse listen can jeouseph
this is what the law says.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Do not be afraid.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle
is not yours but Gods. Then it gives a plan
in phase sixteen and seventeen. Tomorrow match out against them.
You will find them coming up through the ascent of
Sease at the end of the family that opens into
the wilderness of Gerue. But you will not even need
(16:27):
to fight. Take your positions. Thence thirsty and watch the
lost fil tree is with you, or people of Judah
and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid of discourage. Go out
against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you. Look
up to God to do what you cannot do. My friend,
(16:48):
look up to God to do what you cannot do.
So when you have your back against the war and
you don't have the answer. Gather your family and say
to them, we don't have the answer, but God does.
Let's turn to God and seek the answer. Don't be
afraid of anything. God loves us and we take care
(17:08):
of us. We can look to God to do what
we cannot do. In Phase seventeen, it gives three instructions.
Take your positions, stat sty and watch the lost victory.
Look up to God to do what you cannot do.
If you find yourself in a position, will you do
not know what to do? These aditary things that you
(17:29):
can do. Number one, take your positions. That's what the
prophet said. It means to prepare, You say God, never
expect the idea of becoming passive in any situation. Take
your positions, be prepriate, do everything you can in preparation,
but ultimately God will see you too. Prepare even if
(17:52):
your preparation seems meaningless. Prepare anyway. Prepare and position yourself.
That is the number one thing to do. Number two, standsty.
There are times when God wants you to stand stea. Now,
listen to me. You don't run from your trouble. You
don't run from your problem. Yea me Please don't run
from your trouble. God says, don't run, standsty. If you're
(18:16):
going to see the servation of the Lord, if you
are going to see the victory of the Lord, you
need to stick it out. You need to stick it out.
You see, Joseph could have seen the massive group of Harmonites,
more abite than others gathering at the battle feet. But
you look up to God today, many people turn back.
(18:37):
Many people live that way rather than stand the stea
they're wrong. They turn their back on their problems. They
think if they can get away from it, they will
be okay. God says, don't do it, stainsty, don't rull,
don't tremble, stair sty, standsty, don't get all taken up
by something. Just standsty. So don't change your position. That
(19:01):
is the time to go to God. Don't change your
position on your feet. Because your faith is under fire,
that is the time to stand stee. I want you
to know that people will wrong, will tremble, watchin position
on their faith. They never see the lost victory. God says,
when you are in trouble, stainsty, don't be impatient. Don't row.
(19:22):
You know what God's time table might not be yours
and you may have to stand and wait. So position
your safe standin sty and finally work for the lost victory.
Work for the lost victory. Expect God to work. It
may not be on your timetable, but when God works,
it will work for your victory. What do you do
(19:45):
when you don't know what to do? Position your safe
stand stea and work for the lost victory. Look out
to God for help.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
You can just dreamers the easy man.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
You know I still.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Got your back, no matter we need all floods and.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
This strong us. You know I'm feeling it too, all
that you have been through. I've been walking with you
(20:45):
all along, every ghost you saw, every bad dream.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Any time you need me, you can call.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Ever your eye is infamed, you see, I will do it.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Don't fool you, I will. I will.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
Do it.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Don't fool you.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
I will have my favorite child like a huricane coast.
(22:01):
You see it all.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
So much storm? We who can put you back together?
Can you slow foot a while?
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Breathe deep again? You've a what's in your hand? To
your garden friend?
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Because I've been walking with you ball alone, every ghost
you saw, every bad dream.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Any time you need me, you can ball. Every rod
isn't fall see. I live, do little for you, I love,
(23:25):
do little fool you.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
I I love
