In this episode, we connect with Dr. Tonie Reincke, and have a great conversation about Voice and Leadership in the Medical Field. Dr. Reincke is an Interventional Radiologist and the founder of Reincke Vein Center in Houston. She treats vein disease daily and leads with a simple rule: education first, consent always.
In this conversation, we get real about bias in exam rooms, the myth of “the nurse by default,” and why residency culture still needs a hard look. We talk about options for tired, heavy, aching legs, what’s medical vs cosmetic, and how to vet a provider who will actually listen. Inside her clinic you will find music, a seat pulled up for learners, staff who feel valued, and patients who leave with her cell number and a plan they chose.
If you want care that respects your voice, this one is for you. If you lead teams, it is a masterclass in creating safety and trust.
About Dr. Tonie Reincke
Dr. Reinke’s love for patients started almost 30 years ago as a nurse in the surgical ICU. After 6 years, she continued her education and became a Physician Assistant. She had innumerable opportunities to learn and grow that her patients taught her.
Ultimately, she desired an even broader level of connection and responsibility regarding patient care. She went on to medical school, residency, and fellowship and became an Interventional Radiologist. She was trained to perform high-level vascular procedures.
She found she desired more of a narrow/subspecialized scope of practice. After much research and shadowing vein doctors, she found her calling in helping evaluate and treat vein disease patients.
She thrives on managing a busy practice; balancing professional and personal life by spending quality time with her two sons, Malachi and Lazarus. Any free time is devoted to exercising, enjoying great food and wine, and cuddling her Frenchies.
