How we're back Bad Whole Sports chew Tech Sports podcast
for the CHEETEXTA sports man sitting here at Twin Peaks
under the loud speaker, around with a bunch of hooligans
that I haven't seen in a long time. Great friends,
good good camaraderie. Back at it with the double nickel himself,

(00:21):
the fifty five grand Man, Mark Lemiers, markle Merris. Welcome
to the live edition of Bad Bold Sports puts up
man O good Man.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
A pretty excited time and another party right now. But
thank all this we're round round about a lot of
good friends, Grand Lay, Florida and yeah, good night. Bet
a little bit too.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Much for my I'll tell you what, man, this game,
this game has been pretty hotly contested back and forth.
Seventeen thirteen Cowboys at the half had some big, big
plays both defensively and offensively. However, the defense continues to struggle.
Seems to be slowing down Caroline offense a little bit

(01:10):
like some adjustments so lovely it act to be made
at halftime. What are your thoughts on the offensive side
of the ball, What Dak's doing getting the ball around
to the different receivers and then still trying to get
the running game going spots on the first half, right,
not for now. I think they just need to get
the ball back in the winning bad them like they
always do. Point that Aubrey still go rains.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Because it seems like it's gonna be a lost scoring game.
But I think that is doing okay finding his people Elipkey.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Next night right, making great plays.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And I just think zactly just keep doing what he's
going the defense, Oh, Leon, Benny's great quick.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I can't Curt on the Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
But and these nine backers, I mean, people are killing me.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
In the corner. Then set up the game. They're working
a little bit hard. It has to be. I'll tell
you what, man, your boy Tryvon Diggs, still struggling in coverage,
gave up a couple of first downs instead of giving
up ten or fifteen yards instead have been closer to
the line. But did what it is again the Cowboys
up seventeen thirteen at the half. Uh, we talk about

(02:28):
some of the people that were around, some of the
good friends that we're here with, obviously Cody son in
law in the building. Uh, you know your little brother,
you want to call him that. I don't know if
you still claim him that way because he's wearing that
Packers jersey. But you know, David David in the house.
We may talk to David in America, Yeah, we will,
we will, but we got to find out his thoughts

(02:49):
on that tie. You know, I'm still I'm still I'm
still upset that he didn't want at least a boat
tie today to you know, commemorate that tie in Dallas
a few weeks ago. Shot in the building. Scotty, Uh,
Scotty's in the building. We're gonna get Scotty on the
podcast here, just a said it. You know, Rylo just

(03:10):
showed up, couldn't see us, couldn't see us because he
was blinded by the sun. He looked like a damn
outfielder on a baseball film. Yeah, I thought Frankenstein was
walking in or he was trying to feel it up. Hey, dude,
what are you trying to feel for? What are you
trying to feel for?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Man?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I mean, I know there's a lot of good looking
women here, but damn, Rylo, put your hands down. Put
her hands down. Hey, the best teacher in the business,
even though he's not spending the one to choose DJ
Bob in the building yeah, and of course the beautiful
girl friend Rachel has joined us as well. Always up fun.
Time to get together with the fellas Cowboys. What do

(03:48):
you think? Second half mark? How are we looking? Were
you even get the ball into William jun and Midady Green?
He's touching more down in distance and we've more. It's
just it's just kind of lug. This man slow going
and uh like their feeder in mud. But uh back
is still doing what he needs to do. He's moving
the kids. He getting first count game the ball with

(04:10):
people that are uh in positions a number, second score, they.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Could be some more and we just could not give up.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
We gotta stab Rico, I mean Rico doing what he wants.
The brother Moose Park decided him to close in on him.
He did have that one fumble right before.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
The half, and that's kind of what you want to win,
a horsfield kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
And luckily for the Cowboys, didn't you become a lot bumble.
But I think they need to work on as well.
Get some more turnover for the b I m tsuh
victim sat Man. We gotta we gotta tech that for him.
Touch right, but we have vacing page. I'm going Carver
d Dack is doing what he needs to.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
But M in thirty three and we're gonna go as
far as.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I think that with this game, I mean the miss.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Of the game.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
So I know you lot a few alcoholic beverages before
we started with this podcast, but please don't come on
this podcast talking about somebody touching him pool? Okay, do
you want to get him to the ground. Do you
want to tackle him? I get that you want to
knock him silly or whatever, Totally understandable, but police, do
not come on this podcast. I up touching a pool
as I get another drink, which is this that's not mine?

(05:20):
I mean, do get me wrong, I won't. I won't
mind taking an alcoholic vers I'm good right now. That
hang you, our lovely waitress, stop me by making sure
that I'm a hydrated. Make sure that I have enough
fluid on me. Continue to hang out big the hooligans
here at twin Beaks. You can pour can in Sam Pedro, Hey,

(05:40):
let me steal that mic from me for a second.
He has passed the mic over here to my good
friend David Dos He's resident packer fan, the one guy.
Yeah you know, David walks in my other buddies see
him and they're like, hey, there's one thing that doesn't
belong at this table. It's like, I get it. We
all have that one friend gotta be the outsider. He's

(06:02):
gotta be the guy that's gotta be different. You know,
it's fine, it's okay. He's a good fella. Hey man,
your thoughts on what you've seen so far. I know
you've only been here a short time. Your thoughts on
what you see with the Cowboys in comparison to what
you saw in Dallas a few weeks ago when the
Cowboys played your Packers. Yeah, I mean right, yeah, No,

(06:35):
it was a struggle, like they the Cowboys made them
work harder than I think the Packers expected. Is that
fair people are like whoa, whoa, here we go, here
we go, here we go.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
But it's funny how when Parson was getting held at
the Cowboy, you can never recognize that all of a
sudden he's wearing that few green and yellow, and suddenly
you recognize.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
What a halt looks like.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
But anyway, Yeavin, I mean, that was a pretty good game.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
I'm not gonna lie, very very entertaining. Yeah, this game
I think it's I think it's helped with the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Their confidence is higher. They're playing much more relaxed the
way they did last week, the way they're playing now
on the road this week again, I think I think
that helped. You don't want to end the game with
a tie because especially since people who might be on
podcasts may call you a female body part because you
went for a tie. But we won't mention any names

(07:47):
of what podcast that was. However, however, I do think
it is. It is. It has helped the Cowboys in
a lot of ways, and it's made this seem better.
Your packers today they have the Bengals playing Joe Flacco
again for the second time this year. That's crazy. Your
thoughts on your Packers this afternoon. Are they in Green Bay?

(08:09):
Are they in Cincinnati?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
I think you know what, Ury be fucking.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
I did need to come out, you know, if.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
I have Hury weekend. But we continue to try to
figure out the alcoholic memberages at my table. I'm not
exactly sure what's going on here. We'll get it straightened out.
But yeah, man, I think the Packers shouldn't get a
win today against Cincinnati, even though Flacco get played pretty
well against in a few weeks game for a few

(08:43):
weeks ago. But we'll see how that goes. Man, Hey, man,
anytime you want to jump on the pod, you let
me know. Brother, we'll make it happen. And where's your
brother in law? I was waiting for him to get here,
but we gonna talk some shit to you. I was waiting.
I was hoping, you know, I thought him he answer
to the bats maybe next time. Well, I'll tell you

(09:03):
what the one thing I wanted to get clear with
him was at any time you're on that field in Dallas,
he needs to knock the hell out of you, like
George T did t o years ago at at and
they're irving at the Cowboys former stadium. So I can't
have you wearing that green and yellow on our on
our star and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Man.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
So, man was wonderful. That's awesome, Man, that's awesome. Gad
you're here, bad that you're participating. Even if your brother
does have some bad takes. You know, there you go
and there he goes, and so just go over here.
He's just a little bit naughty banana. Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. First,

(09:46):
we're talking about touching people up. Now we're talking about
Naughty Banana. I don't know what is happening with this episode.
I don't know what you said. Hey, did you want
to Anny Banana? And I'm like, wait a minute, Wait
a minute, wait a minute. We're right late. We are
not at a slip up. Guys, We're not out of
ship club. You need to settle the hell down whatever's
going on. I'm gonna continue to pass this beer down

(10:07):
because I don't know who this belongs to. This rylos
bear it maybe it, maybe I don't. I have no idea.
I have no idea. There you go, There you go.
I don't know dirty banana, dirty block. Oh okay, I

(10:31):
haven't seen any blondes in this place. I'm with you,
rich I'm with you. Wait a minute, Hey, that yours?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Hey, that one it.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
There?

Speaker 1 (10:42):
It is, there it is. I don't know whose beer
that was, but you know what we're passing down the table. Hey, man,
pass your past that microphone over to Scottie. There, my
longtime friend Scott Handands joining us here at twin Keats. Hey, man,
give me your thoughts on the first half. What have
you seen for the cowboys so far? Here we go,

(11:05):
here we go. Oh my gosh, no, all reality, they
should have been out by more. Did up should have
bump for it? Touched out seven? N yeah, I from
that lest Hey, what did you think? What did you
think of Pickings jumping over that defender there in the
first quarter to get down close?

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Were you excited about that? Or did you think they
massed down your feet? What are you thinking? I could
have been excited.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
That's something I would have done.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Stayed out back in my brind Y r pet good.
All right, yeah, you gotta get a promp.

Speaker 7 (11:41):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Hey, as my good friend Rick Harre said, I used
to jump over the drum line with my tuba, so
I totally get it. I totally get it. If you
got you know what, people don't know how hard it
is you jump over that. I mean it's more difficult
than he takes. Oh, by the way, put the way
he can more than you think, but less than you know.

(12:02):
How about that? Okay? Oh wait wait wait, we're not
talking about the strippers. I'm sorry, my man, I got
my bad all right, right, right right, that's that's what
this is. That's does but actually it's not as heavy
as you think it is. But yeah, It's still awkward though,
the way you have to carry that damn thing. So
I have any problem play, Oh no, I have back problems,
but because I have to carry this damn show with
the people that I work with, that's what That's what.

(12:25):
I don't know if you were gonna think because you
had the carry Martins back in the day when you
get O well that that's that's that's been happening since
nineteen eighty nine. So Chuck, we want to tell you
nineteen eighty nine over good years at Frank break Andy,
Now there you go. Hey man, what are you expecting
from the Cowboys? Did they come out at halftime? Again?
I said, what are you expecting from the Cowboys to
come out of the halftime? And they maintain the games

(12:49):
in the bag. But I ain't make more for you know,
they're not bad.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
We have, as you state all you know, lady to.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
Hate on them.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
And he's right over here on the other side of
the table. I know what is at our table? Yeah, Jersey, Yeah, yeah,
you know. Hey, he tried to tell me that he
wasn't a Cowboys fan because they fired Landry. But what
he didn't tell me was that he was like one
where they fired Landrys. So how does he know? How
does he know? Yeah? They all are. Yeah, yeah, try.

(13:21):
He tried to pretend and tell me he used to
be a Houston Oilers fan. I was like, dude, I
know you're lying because nobody was an Oilers fan back
in the day. Quarterback. Uh, I think it was Steve Blore.
What was that Passerini?

Speaker 7 (13:35):
I think.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
And anytime, Scotty you want to jump on and talk
to us, those are with us, are your thoughts, They're
always welcome, my friend. I'm sure that being fun Rix
in the middle of eating rich and I'll come back
to him after halftime. Yeah, and once I get Bob started,
it just you can't stop him up. He's hey, he's

(14:01):
the best DJ in the business for a reason, you
know what I mean. He's in the middle, he's in
the middle of discussing the bear. Yeah, true, Hey, this
we can't we can't be too hard on him because
he's not alone today. He's not alone there. There could
be you have to precame to be respecting him, right,
there could be some hungry eyes lurking. We'll be back,

(14:24):
We'll be back. Before the game was over and the
Cowboys blow up coverage Trayvon Diggs again giving up a
big play. You know, I don't know what's worse. It's
the Cowboys giving up that touchdown or the fact that
we're listening to your favorite guy, bess Obuma on the
damn DJ playing right now. Because I'll tell you what.
That touchdown was dreadful, because your Cowboys defense gave it

(14:48):
up here for starting the fourth quarter, and uh, the
reaction on your face told me everything I needed to know.
I can't wait until the end of this game. And uh,
a heartbreaker in Carolina as the Cowboys drop to two
three and one after a six minute Carolina drive to

(15:09):
end the game. Carolina thirty, Cowboys twenty seven. Back out
of here with Mark two weeks with the Fellas. Mark
your thoughts if you watch this fourth quarter unfold for
your what are your thoughts? It's worse my far choices
for this long choice, the bear choices because they stucket

(15:31):
the loss.

Speaker 8 (15:31):
You could just defense was like under foot a soon
on the hoover him. There's a league, the that shits,
the ain't gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
The other stuff reco the good stuff they couldn't drop.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Uh, Carol, after getting up rummers down and they need
to get the.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
First out top.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
And I mean it's it's not a surprise, it's just
heartbreaking this art game. I told Torontald here.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
With my friends, my good man, my lifetime friends, if
I had the job tomorrow, if you hit it or
I would not start with you and myself.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
And I told you he's a jerry. Yes, man, it
will still be in Dallas. They're gonna tell you it's
because of injuries. They're gonna tell you people around, They're
gonna tell you people were scatches before kickoff. They're gonna
set every day, every game. But why they can't make
a stop on defense? So uh yeah, again disappointing. We'll

(16:34):
talk about it more this week and'll break it down
with in a look at it and see got anything
else before we wrap this break uh live Let's best episodes.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Yeah, man, my heart goes Torontald his family when he's
got recent boss and fancy he got to go has
with facts to say.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
His prayers burs family. That's a bigger thing, even more important.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Things for this bay started to ring.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
It brought the mics.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Man, I'm glad to fetch a couple if you good
a year ago.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Here's hard fine for him. It's gonna be with.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
J by the rest ns like, oh, I don't know
about the best of business. He's all right, all.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Right, this good.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Our new friends, I know, Nick Gus, We're gonna get round.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
We'll get dirty beginners, dirty and banana. Scott Honandi is
dirty banana. It'll be a good thing. You look on
you more about talking. We will man, all right, that's
a short wrap. We'll talk to me that tune pad
Pole sports you good sports podcast, but the you're good
sports Ben saying, well back, God, I hate you. Get

(17:50):
the hell off of the damn podcast. We'll talk to
y'all later. Peace where streets And we're back fan Pool Sports.

(18:37):
Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness, back at it once
again under the warm sun this evening with the main man,
the Double Nickel himself, the Golden Arm from a Golden
Age gone by, the Silver Fox, Elguapp himself, Mark Rameris,

(18:58):
marcromeris welcome back to the program, my friend.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Too.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
And oh and we are back to talk Dallas Cowboys football,
if you want to call it that.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
So the good thing about this episode is that I'm
gonna piggyback off of what happened on Sunday when we
got together with the fellas, and you know that that
thing was pretty good, man, even though it was pretty noise.
It was pretty noisy in the background. DJ was bumping
the ones and twos, but you could still hear the

(19:32):
things that we were talking about. Was a lot of fun.
It's great to see you guys, and I can't wait
to do it again. Hey. You know, as we get
started here, dude, you know, we we try to open
the show with a song. We try to open the
show with something funny. Mark sends me this damn text
and tells me to play this song from the original
and only Footloose movie. I don't know what that garbage

(19:55):
was a few years ago, but whatever that shit was,
that was terror Okay, I guess, dude, because even even
the Baptists that were being portrayed in that movie were
embarrassed by that movie. That's pretty bad. But this song
is terrible as it is holding Out for a Hero

(20:17):
by Bonnie Tyler. This song is exactly opposite of what
the damn Dallas Cowboys are. Let me just let me
just read you the first part of this song where
she says where have all the good men gone? And
where are all the gods? Where's the street wise hercules

(20:39):
to fight the rising odds? Okay, let me tell you
right now, ain't none of that should apply to the
Dallas Cowboys. Okay, they are a bad football team. They're
a terrible defensive team. I don't know what that performance
was on Sunday, other than to tell you that it
was straight awful, awful performance on Sunday. And you know,

(21:02):
the DAK stats look great, and we'll get a little
more into that here in just a bit. You know,
there was absolutely no running game. I don't know what
the hell shot he was calling. We could not run
the ball. We did not run the ball. We made
no true effort to get the ground game going. The defense.
We've talked at nauseum already about this defense. It's only

(21:26):
gonna get worse today. And this is why I told
you I did not want to spend my sundays watching
this team, because they're garbage. Their garbage from the top
all the way down. Their garbage. And it sucks because
you've got some really talented, well respected players on that
field wearing the star on their helmet, and they they're

(21:50):
the laughing stock of the NFL because of the fact
that they suck as a team, not one individual player,
but as a team. Because they win as a team,
they lose as a team. And I don't care how
much people like to criticize Dak or criticize this person
that person because he's a cowboy. At the end of
the day, it's the Dallas Cowboys that won or lost,

(22:13):
not the Dak Prescotts. And this team is awful right now.
And you know, Shot, he's got a lot of soul
searching to do, got a lot of soul searching to
do to figure out what the hell is going on
with this team. Your thoughts about Sunday's performance and your
observations of what you saw, especially in the second half.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
I'm going to disagree with you on just one part, man.
I mean, how is it. How is it that you
have kind of a really semi.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Close to elite quarterback offense that's scoring a lot of
points since the thirties, also a kicking game and a
special teams game that is I want to say elite.
It's doing what it needs to do minus a turpin
and all that. Remember when we talked in the past
about what wash is a wash.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Right.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
If the offense is great and the defense just negates that,
it's a wash.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
I disagree that.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
I think the defense is washing the other two the
other two phases of the team. And that's not not
good to say because playing against Carolina Panthers, I get it,
you know they The sucky thing is is you knew
the game plan, you know what they were gonna do.
Raco was talking shit, and at the end of the

(23:32):
day he backed it up. I mean, what else can
you say and what else can you do other than
all right?

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Man?

Speaker 5 (23:37):
He called us his shot.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
You know, he did a fucking babe ruth and he
did what he needed to. The really, really sucky part
about it is, you know he in two consecutive games,
was two hundred plus yards in a game, two games
back to back, and that should never happen, let alone
to the team that you know you follow or you

(24:01):
and I follow, But that I don't understand. Then how
can you win on two phases of the game and
still come out losing?

Speaker 1 (24:10):
But they didn't. They didn't win.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
My head, I don't understand what the defense is trying
to do or attempting to do when you already know
what you need to do. You gotta stop Rico. And
if once you do that, I mean the only I
guess bright spotlight in it. There was an interception or
there was.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
A turnover, I think in there in the middle of
the game, big beginning of.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
The game, and I think that's what got the Cowboys
to take the lead there in the beginning. But other
than that, man, it was all downhill from there.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
What where do you say, where do you see that
the offense and special teams were we're head and shoulders
above what Carolina was doing. The Cowboys did something, they
matched it. Then you're right, there was a turnover there,
but they you know, they didn't turn that turnover into points,
you know, and they didn't get any kind of real advantage.

(25:01):
And I still don't understand what you're talking about. A wash,
A wash, There is no wash. It's a wash if
it's even, it's not even. The offense is doing this
and the defense is giving up this. That's not even.
That's not a wash. So this this thing that we're oh,
it's a wash because we have a bad defense, but
we have good special teams and good offense. Well, guess

(25:22):
what if one third of those two of those three
things is not very good and gives up more points
and gives up more yards and gives us more time
and possession. They suck as a team. It doesn't matter
how good you look over here, they still suck as
a team. It's a collective. Emmittt said it years ago.

(25:43):
Emmett said it years ago that as his career started
to wind down in Dallas and the games got tougher
to win, and they didn't have as many good players
and they didn't have as much of a good coaching
staff anymore, that there were times that he felt like
a diamond sitting in poo poo because you talked about Emmett.

(26:04):
Oh man, Emmett had a great game. He had touchdowns,
he had yards, He's gonna break the all time record, this,
that and the other, blah blah blah. But the Cowboys sucked.
The Cowboys didn't win. Even when he broke the record, Dude,
as great as that was, they lost that game. They
lost that game. So as much as we talked about

(26:25):
he won and he I mean, he broke the record
and he beat out Sweetness and he's the all time
leading rusher. Okay, well that's all great. But the game
that he did it in he lost. And you know,
we can sugarcoat it here and say, oh, well, Dak
had a great game, and you know, Ferguson had a
great game, and the kicker did this and this, that

(26:46):
and the other and blah blah. But at the end
of the day, the only thing that matters is Carolina
had thirty the Cowboys had twenty seven. And what was
the one thing that hurt the Cowboys the most? The defense?
They couldn't stop the run, They could have stopped the past,
they couldn't get off the field and third downs. What happened.
They lost the damn game. So I mean, as far

(27:11):
as I'm concerned, dude, Sunday, depending on how Sunday goes,
Sunday might be the actual last game that I'm going
to sit down and spend any time fully investing in watching.
And the only reason I want to see this game
is because it's against the damn Redskins, and I want
to see them beat dan Quinn and I want to

(27:31):
see them beat the damn Redskins. But I'm telling you, man,
it's getting really hard, really hard to invest more than
an hour plus of my day watching this damn team
because of how awful that damn defense is. And I
know I told Rylo the other day, Hey, stop bitching

(27:52):
about Micah. He's gone. There's nothing we can do about it, right,
But at the end of the day, man, you gave
up on all world pass rusher who protected your cornerbacks
and safeties because of his ability to get to the backfield.
You gave him up for what. Kenny Clark's a nice player.

(28:15):
Kenny Clark has done some good things for the Cowboys.
Kenny Clark is not Michael Parsons. And I know Spurs
fans hate to hear this, but I equate it to
Kawhi getting traded for DeRozan oh. Deroze is a good player.
He's an all star player. He averages twenty points a game.
He's got a mid rage jumper. He's this, He's that great.

(28:38):
He didn't have no success in the playoffs. The Spurs
never got out of the damn first round of the
playoffs with Derozen there. The Spurs won a title with Kawhi.
You can't equate. It's not a wash. It's not a wash.
What is your disappointment level?

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Man?

Speaker 1 (28:54):
After watching that shit on Sunday. What is your disappointment
level now in this team? You and I have high
hopes coming out of that tie with Green Bay and
then winning against the Jets. Thought they could get this one,
build more momentum going into this Washington game. What is
your disappointment level right now in this team?

Speaker 3 (29:13):
I mean I called it at the beginning, man, I
thought that they could win nine games. I didn't even
see them hitting ten or getting double digits, because again,
it was other factors that you know, this is besides
Mike are being traded. And when you look back at
what I said, I said, look, you know you've got
this new new coach, You've got all new coordinators, you're

(29:35):
gonna have Dak with potentially you know, Pickens coming in,
and he was the kind of I guess the wild
card in this whole mix. You lose Michah Parsons literally
the days days before the season starts, and you're right
for what, man, I mean, it wasn't really the headbutting

(29:56):
that was so awful, and you know it's that he said,
She's said, And then you hold the fans hostage because
you know who who to believe. It doesn't matter who
you believe because the shit never happened and it never
went down. He never got the pin the ink to paper,
and you know you are who you are.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
But you're right, man. The last two games, or actually
the last three games. You think about two overtime.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Games, one you win, one you tie, of all things,
to one of the better teams in the league. I'm
not going to say it leave because hell, if you
tie them, how good are they really?

Speaker 7 (30:29):
You know?

Speaker 3 (30:30):
But I agree at the end of the day, you
mentioned it, you know, at you know, at Twin Peaks
you said, hey, you know, Mark used a certain word
he called the Greeny.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Package for not going for it with one second left.
How's that looking now? You know what I mean? You
still should have gone for it. You know, you don't
play to tie. You play to win a game.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
And you've played all that whole game the whole way anyway,
why not do it? But again, if you're such a
great team, you should be able to over come a
loss the following week and do something greater. But at
the same time, you know, I'm not I'm not in
charge of that squad. That's not the team I follow.
But last week, this past week, this weekend, one thing.
I will say. It was so good Man to see

(31:14):
your son. You know, I hadn't seen him in a while.
I can remember the last time we were all together.
You know, we were kind of in a homage to
to Mike. You know, there's a lot of other you know,
just extraneous things we're with, We're with friends. You know,
we're we're watching the game, we're having beers, and I mean,
I can't you can't put a price tag on that.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
Man.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
I want to do it again, and hopefully we can
do it again before the season ends under better circumstances.
Hopefully the record can change, that record can be changed,
the players can start getting their stuff together.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
But the last thing I want to say this is
just me. I mean, this defensive coordinat's got to go, man,
And I know it's Jerry. Doesn't do that. Jerry's Jerry's
that's Jerry's boy.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
And you can tell me to you're blue in the face,
But I mean, at some point, man, at some point,
you know, you got to leave that fucker on the tarmac.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
I mean, I don't even know how he've gotten back
on the plane.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Because after that performance, I mean, you literally you can't
continue to just give up games and then expect to
just make him, you know, make him back on the
back end, or I don't know what Jerry's thinking.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
I don't know what you're right.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
Shoty's play calling was shoddy, bro, because I mean, where
was the ball control there? You know, if they're gonna
run the ball, okay, then I think they should have
done a similar type style thing. But I mean, I
will say this, he has dialed in with Dak and
the offensive play calling that he has. But man, dude,
this defense and that defensive coordinator, something has got to change,

(32:43):
and it's got to change quick. I mean, if it
didn't change at halftime, because it just seemed to be
a little bit of the same in the first half
that it was in the second half, and that could
do can only do so much. Man, It's like he
can't play defense. You know, he can't go out there
and tackle people. He shouldn't have to. He just has
to go out there, do his job, make the plays,

(33:03):
and he's man. To me, that's the waste of it.

Speaker 5 (33:06):
All.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
The waste of it is Dak Prescott is to me
right now, you know, one of the top one to
five guys in the league at what he's doing, how
he's playing, getting through his progressions, and attribute that to again,
his offensive line.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
You got to give them credit to. But at the
at the end of the day, what the fuck is
it all for?

Speaker 3 (33:27):
If you wind up losing to a team you should Again,
I think they were even favored to win that game,
even though it was an away game, and there's no excuse.
There's zero excuse for that. And I mean again, the
defensive side of that ball is just a mess. It's
it's a fucking landmine, you know, after landmine, after.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Running into landmine. That's what it feels like.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
Man, When when he's running backs run at them, it's like,
oh crap, there's a landmine there, and they just can't
tackle the guy or they can't make the play. And
when they do get a turnover, it's like, okay, well then,
and you're right, you know, the Cowboys should have capitalized
on it. I think they only got a field goal
out of it. But still, I mean, it's it's tiresome, man,
it's awful. It's like watching I don't even know what

(34:12):
to compare it to because it's just I haven't seen
this bad defensive play since Hell, I don't know what
are we talking about the strike season?

Speaker 5 (34:20):
I mean, I don't know. I mean, I mean the Scavs.
Maybe that's probably the worst the best comparison I.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Have for it. Well, I mean, the twenty twenty defense
was just as bad, but this one seems to be
a little worse, like a little bit worse than that
what that defense was. And I mean, and that's the
frustrating part, right, Like, again, you can't control the decisions
that are made in the front office, right Like, ultimately,

(34:50):
the GM, the owner, whatever you want to whatever title
Jerry wants to fucking wear, he made that decision to
trade Micah. Okay, but again, you didn't trade apples for apples.
You traded apples for a dingleberry, right, And I'm sure
some people like dingle berries. I don't know, Okay, But

(35:11):
at the end of the day, Kenny Clark is not
adding the pressure that you need to slow down the
passing game to help your corners and iber Flus's defensive
philosophy playing more zone than man and and you know
these guys. I mean, it's that's all I can say,

(35:34):
because that's how frustrating it is. And then on top
of that, you know, you've got the scheme where it's
third and seven and you have your corner back playing
twelve yards off the line of scrimmage. So even if
he runs and makes up some of that ground, that
that wide receiver he only has to go seven and

(35:56):
a half eight yards, and that that that dB still
has to come and run up and make up those
four yards to be able to stop that play. And
there was two moments in that last drive that Carolina
had to win that game that they had a third
and six and they got seven yards because that damn

(36:18):
defensive back was playing ten yards off the line of scrimmage.
How does that make sense? How does that make like?
I'd understand if Diggs and Bland were rookies and something
like that happens, But that's inexcusable. That is inexcusable to
give their offensive guys that kind of flexibility and all

(36:40):
they had to do was run and turn around and
catch a pass. Hell, you and I can do that.
We I mean, even at my slow ass age, I
could still run to six yards and turn around and
you can hit me with a pass. That's not a problem.
But when these guys are you know, oh you know,
you fans don't know what you're talking about. And you
know these people criticizing another man, shut up and play

(37:03):
your game. And if your game is to be soft,
and your game is to be asked, and your game
is to be, you know, twelve yards off the ball
when you're when they need six, then I guess you're
doing your job. But I'm pretty sure your job is
supposed to be to stop the other guy, to stop
the other team, and you sure as hell haven't done that,
and they've looked awful. Speaking of Dak playing at an

(37:26):
MVP level, last three games, dude eleven touchdowns, one interception,
three almost three hundred yards a game, completing nearly seventy
five percent of his passes. I said it. I've said
it for two seasons. Now. This is the third season
I'm saying it. And I think I sent you a

(37:47):
meme a couple of weeks ago. They are wasting Dak
like they wasted Romo. And I'm not the biggest Romo guy.
You know that I give Romo shit. I've gave I
gave it when he played when he was the star
of the Cowboys. But you can't deny the talent that
that guy had. And in some cases the guts that

(38:10):
he showed and played with when he went out there
and played hurt, when he went out there and got
knocked a round pretty good from time to time. Okay,
cannot deny that, and cannot deny what that guy achieved
coming in as an undrafted football player. But my god,
Jerry Jones, what the hell are you doing? You're literally

(38:33):
throwing away two potential Hall of Fame careers for your
quarterback position because you can't figure out this defense. And
then when you have the players for on the defensive side,
you don't get everything out of than that you're supposed to.
Your thoughts on Dak, your thoughts on Dak and the

(38:55):
level that he's playing at.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
I mean, not only he's the only bright spot, but
he's the elite right spot in this whole scenario experiment.

Speaker 5 (39:07):
That that is this year?

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Now, can the defense turn it around? I hate saying this,
but I don't know, And that's that's the I don't
know part of it that I don't like. But Dak
Prescott Man, to me, he has You're right comparing it
to Romo. Here's the one comparison that I cannot make.
I don't think that that Romo had the talent around

(39:30):
him that that Dak has.

Speaker 7 (39:32):
And how can you wait, how can you say, how
can you how can you say that? How can you
say that he had Witten? He had Witten, he had Dez,
he had t O, he had Terry Glenn, he.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Had Marion Barber, he had DeMarco Murray. How how can
you say that that he doesn't have the same amount
of talent, Hell, he had better talent in some cases,
because Ferguskin, Schoonmaker and any other tight end that the
Cowboys have ain't None of those guys carrying Jason Witten's jock,
not a one. And talent wise, I mean, CD's very talented,

(40:14):
Pickens is very talented. But you can't tell me those
guys are better than to O and and Dez. I mean,
I don't think I disagree. I disagree.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
I mean, at this moment in time where Dak is,
let me put it that way, and you're right, there
was some talent there for Romo. I mean, Dez caught
it kind of shit. That's not shitty luck, that's just
the cowboys got jobbed, you know. But Dak has not
ever had that kind of thing other than him trying
to run for first down against the forty nine ers,

(40:52):
which is the only thing that comes to mind right now,
which again, at the end of the day, that cost
you the game because it's on you to move the
chains or get the ball in the end zone. And
again there's still no guarantee he's still gonna get that
in the end zone. But you're right, man, Tony Romo,
I'm not going to say he got I think he
always was getting hurt.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
Man.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
There was some parts of some seasons, big chunks where
he was injured and he could only do so much
when he ain't in there. But for the moment right now,
Dak Prescott is top to me, top one, two three.
He's right there, and that's because his defense, you know,
is not doing him any favors. But I think the
other teams that are probably above him, or the other

(41:35):
quarterbacks that are above him, they just have better defenses.
I was watching the Chiefs game the other day and
I was watching, I'm like, man, what happened to this
vaunted defense?

Speaker 5 (41:42):
You know, why are the Chiefs struggling? You know what?

Speaker 3 (41:44):
They fucking turned it up a Nazi. The other night
they showed me something like, oh, Okay, that's what I remember.
You know, that defense does what they can to keep
Pat Mahomes in the game, and then what do they do.
Everybody jumps on the Oh fuck, they'd call penalties for them,
or they don't call penalties or whatever.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
Just shut the hell up.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
Man.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
At the end of the day, you still got to
catch that chicken, bro. You got to catch that rooster
bro like Rocky did, and you got to put him
on the ground.

Speaker 5 (42:08):
And they just can't do it.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
They can't do it when the when the when the
lights are real, real bright. You know, he he does
come above that. Now, dak to me, is playing I'm
not gonna say he's gonna be playing at Mahomes level
just yet, but he's got a damn good start this season.
I mean, it's crazy to watch all these these yards
that he gets, these connections that he makes, the execution

(42:31):
that he does, he goes through his reads, he makes plays.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
Dude, he's making plays. But then the other side of
the ball cannot do a fucking thing to help him.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
And it's just sad because then he then he has
to go out there and be not not just good,
but great again, He's got to be great every single series,
and you're asking too much, man, you're asking too much.
And then I don't know, man, My hat's still off
to Dak. You know, he is my quarterback for the
moment right now, because he's at a window in his life,

(42:59):
I think right now where he's got everything clicking.

Speaker 5 (43:02):
He's got the tight ends, he's got the receivers. Hell,
he even had liftkey.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
Score passing TV the other day, you know, and he's
moving the ball around. That means he knows, he knows
what's going on, he knows what's happening around him, he
knows where the weaknesses are. And I don't think he's
ever played like that in his whole career. And I
just hope that it continues and this bend but hopefully
not break defense gets a shit together, and if that

(43:30):
can happen, you know, they just might be able to
make a good strong run there.

Speaker 5 (43:34):
At the end of the season.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
You realize they have three losses, right, Yeah, that's not
Ben not break. That is we've broken three times, so
there is no I hope they can continue to try
to bend and not bring.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
No.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
They've broken three times, you know, and they're they're gonna
face a pretty decent offense this weekend in the Redskins.
That's going to give them all kinds of problems that
it could get ugly if they are not careful this weekend.
I mean the Panthers and the Jets and the Bears
like those were mediocre, mediocre at best offenses that they played.

(44:12):
They're about to play an offense now that if their
quarterback is healthy, is going to give them fits. So
they better be ready. They better be ready. Why didn't
shot he run the ball more? Why did Williams not
get touches? He got thirteen or fourteen touches, He only
had thirty three yards? You know what I mean? I mean,
the guy just came off one of the best games

(44:32):
in his career. You know, he only he's one of
those guys that he gets stronger the more touches he gets.
What the hell happened on Sunday? And you brought up
Jaden Blue because you have it an injury obviously that
affected you know, him having to be on the active
roster this week. He's going to be there the rest
of the year. Is the backup? How are you only

(44:54):
giving that guy three touches and then benching him the
rest of the game. Like his shot. He's choices on
the running game this week were awful in my opinion,
and that's what really decided this game. Because you're right,
the Panthers ran the ball, they committed to Rico and
they got after it. The Cowboys did not commit to

(45:16):
their running game. Why did Shaddy not commit to the
running game? What are your thoughts?

Speaker 3 (45:23):
I mean, I think he thought that the best option
maybe was Dak's arm and him moving it down the
field quickly, which I mean it was working. I mean,
you can't dispute that. But you're right, man, You've got
to control the clock a little more. You've got to
give your defense no offense. You got to give your
defense a little bit of rest, right, And what does

(45:44):
that you know, you handing off the ball making those plays.
I will say this, they were keyed in on Williams.

Speaker 5 (45:51):
They were. But it doesn't mean you stop. You don't
just go cold turkey on it.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
And it's just I don't know, man, I just think
that him and Dak get that ship rolling to get
that you know, that that trained rolling of pass the ball,
pass the ball, and I think he gets excited like
a little kid, like like a kid playing you know,
Madden or something, and he wants to just keep passing
the ball.

Speaker 5 (46:15):
I don't know what it is, but he needs he
needed to do that.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
He needed to do that, not just in like bits
and spurts, but like you know, in big chunks of
the game, because that's all that that does. It just
helps Dak's job, you know, be that much easier. And
I mean again, I know it's a double edged sword.
You know, when when Dak's rolling, he's rolling, man, and
you want to roll with that. But if it's the

(46:39):
defense can't stop anybody. I mean, it's it's all for
not man, It's not gonna work that.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
I agree. I agree, man. And like I said, I
just I found it funny that he didn't try to
stick to the running game more. I thought it was
bad on his his decision making his play calling. You
said it earlier, Eva Flus, I don't even know how
he got on the plane. You gotta leave his ass
wherever you're playing at. I hope he gets fired soon.

(47:08):
I don't think he will, because, like I said, that's
one of Jerry's boys, and Jerry's gonna hold onto his
boys as long as he can. Now if it continues
to be the way that it is and the Cowboys
don't win, but maybe two maybe three more games, then
maybe there's a decision that's made at the end of
the year and they get rid of him. I know

(47:28):
the excuse will be, well, we're not healthy, it's a transition,
it's a new coach, it's a new system, YadA, YadA, YadA.
I get it. But at the end of the day,
you're professionals. Pull it together, get it together, take care
of business, do what you gotta do. I mean, look
at me. I don't work with a professional. I mean,
and I'm still great at my job. I mean, come on, hey,

(47:55):
do you think do you think there's a chance that
they'll make a trade before the deadline? I think the
deadlines like the second week in November. Do you think
there's a chance that they can make a trade between
now and then that's gonna make a difference. Is there
anything out there that you think, man, maybe if we
get this guy or this guy, you know, maybe maybe
it can make a difference. Do you think there's anything

(48:16):
out there to look at?

Speaker 3 (48:19):
I mean there is, man, Like you said in the past,
Crosby said, there's God. I forget his name out out
of Cleveland. But dude, at the end of the day,
what what defense are we running?

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (48:31):
You know what are we doing out there? You can
bring I think you can bring freaking the second Coming
of LT.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
But if the rest of the defense isn't keyed and
put in the right position or whatever the hell this
system is, you know what, you know what the fix
for a bad defensive system is another system, right, put
another system out there that is at least half ass good,
you know, because it'll it'll minimize at least some of

(48:57):
the of the bleeding. Dude, Because it's like what we
talked about in the past. You know, it's a damn
it's got a leak, and you're gonna use, you know,
a band aid to try and fix the leak. It's
not gonna happen. Man, You've got to to redo something.
You got to get the engineer in there and figure
out something from within, because it's it's not gonna get
any better unless you do something different. I mean this this,

(49:18):
there's a there's a point at which where you're like, Okay,
we got to stick with what we know and got
to stick with the guys we got. But at some point, man,
you got to do something different because it's not only
is it not working, it just looks terrible. You know,
you're gonna lose your fans, and you're gonna you're gonna
continue to lose games, and then then what then you're
gonna fire the head coach. You know, then it falls

(49:39):
back on him too, you know, then we're talking and
pointing fingers at that motherfucker, which I don't want to yet,
because he's shown, he's shown me he's won two games,
you know, he's won two games and a really tough
division and he's and he's and he almost beat the
champs he battled with with with a good team in
the Packers, and then that that tells me that, hey,

(50:02):
he's got the kind of a what is it the
recipe to do something? But I don't know if it's
a good recipe or bad recipe yet, because again we've
we're only a few games in and I want more
of a sample size.

Speaker 5 (50:16):
I think that he can be a great coach, but
right now he's not.

Speaker 3 (50:20):
He's not even a mediocre coach because we're not even
middle of the road yet, bro, and winning two games
is hard enough, which I think easily could have been three,
possibly four, and we're having a totally different discussion. But yeah, man,
get rid of b re pluce or promote somebody man
within I don't know. Just make the tweaks, make the changes,

(50:43):
put guys in better positions. I mean, hell, if you
get penalties, fuck it, man, get penalties. I'd rather see
holding penalties and and pass interferences than just.

Speaker 5 (50:55):
Let ola defense. I mean, I'd rather see that.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
I'll take that because Okay, at least they didn't score, right,
they didn't get an easy, easy six points. I'd rather
see that than anything. But yeah, man, I'm right there
with you, bro. It's rough to watch.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
It was.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
We had a good time though.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
I'm glad we had a good time the other day
and and I'm thankful we all got together.

Speaker 1 (51:15):
Yeah, man, I'll talk. I'll talk about the other day here.
Just a second, last, last question before we get ready
to wrap this one up. Man, are you still optimistic
they're gonna get to nine wins?

Speaker 5 (51:31):
What are we at now?

Speaker 4 (51:32):
Man? Two?

Speaker 5 (51:38):
Yeah, I think so. I think they can do it.

Speaker 1 (51:40):
Okay, I'll let you. I'll let you stick to that.
I might give them three wins at this point. You know,
I see them now at this point, if this defense
isn't get any better, if they don't do anything to
improve this defense at all, you know, the offense is
gonna look great and that's going to be entertaining, but
if they can't stop no body or get the stops

(52:01):
that they need, and like, I don't even need you
to stop them every point of the game, I need
you to make stops in the fourth quarter so you
can keep the win in your back pocket. And that's
that's what they haven't shown that they can do to
this point. So I'm gonna I'm gonna say, I'm gonna
say five wins at this point. There'll be five, eleven
and one at the end of the year, So we'll see.

(52:23):
Hey man, as far as the other day goes, dude,
I mean you'll hear it here in a little bit
when you listen to this episode, you'll hear the foolishness
and the silliness that that was happening on Sunday with us.
I just added this portion of this episode to that. Uh,
it's it's great. It's great. Foolishness is what it is,
and it's it was so awesome. I said it in
my post that I that I posted on social media.

(52:46):
You know, the Cowboys losing sucked. I hated that. But
to me, the most important thing, man was being around
my friends, being around my boys, because you know, and
we and we've touched on it enough on this show.
You know, the passing of my cousin has not been
easy for me. You know, it was hard, but the

(53:07):
whole weekend was just tremendous. You know, I got to
see my grandkids, I got to see Belinda and her family.
Then I got to see my cousins and stuff on Saturday,
and then you guys on Sunday. So it was just
it was just a tremendous weekend. And then I was
off on Monday, hung out with Lauren, and you know,
it just it was to me, it was the perfect weekend,

(53:28):
and Sunday was just it was a riot. I can't
wait to do it again. We'll definitely do it again
in a few weeks. I know it gets harder as
a year, you know, it gets closer to the ending
because everybody's got commitments with holidays and stuff like that.
But you know, like I told you guys before, anytime
we can talk sports, anytime we can bullshit. Anytime we
can have fun, anytime we can drink a few beers together,

(53:50):
that's always a good thing. I'll never not want to
take advantage of those opportunities. So shout out to you,
Shout out to Bob Rylo, Rick Scott, Cody, David Sean.
I mean, we all of you guys. It was it
was tremendous. Uh. There's a few more people that that
we try to invite, uh, and maybe we'll get to

(54:12):
meet meet up with them the next time we get together.
But yeah, man, the brotherhood is strong. The friendships just
grew that much stronger. The bond is definitely there. And
I can't thank you guys enough for for all of that.
So shout out to to those fellas. And again, man,
shout out to you. Thank you for everything. Buddy, You've
been tremendous. You've been a rock in my life for

(54:35):
a long time. And uh, you know I wouldn't I
wouldn't be here without you in a lot of ways.
So thank you so much for your friendship. And I
can't wait to see what other foolishness this program will
continue to do. And if you ever learned how to
become a professional at this I mean, we're gonna be deadly.
I'm just saying. I'm just saying, you got any you

(54:56):
got anything else before, you got anything else before we
wrap it up.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
Oh man?

Speaker 1 (55:04):
So all right, man, well i'm gonna let you. I'm
gonna wrap it up. Uh Like I said, Well, we'll see,
we'll see how this Sunday goes. Man, I'm going to
pay attention. I'm gonna watch. I'm not gonna lie because
I want to see him beat the Redskins. Uh. But
we'll see. We'll see how long I watched that game
because I just don't know. I just don't know what's
gonna happen. So we'll get together next week and I'm

(55:24):
sure we'll talk about it one way, good, bad, or
the other. I'm sure we'll talk about it one way
or the other. So Fan Post Sports a true Texas
sports podcast for the true tech sports fan. Once again,
this has been Ronnie. That's Mark. We're out.

Speaker 4 (55:38):
Pace pace, flings, foot fountains, the tares bar, black of me,
