takes on this podcast.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
I'm happy to be back.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Let me tell you, man, Yeah, I've got a few
things to discuss tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
As we discussed the Dallas Cowboys, you know they're coming
off well. First of all, I'm not gonna call it
an impressive win. I know what the scoreboard says, I
know how they looked. That was impressive. But let's not
kid ourselves. They were playing the absolute worst team in

(02:09):
the NFL. And that's saying a lot when you consider
some of the other teams in the NFL. I'm talking
about you, Arizona. Okay, when you talk about bad football teams,
you know the Giants. To say that the Jets are

(02:29):
this bad wow wow, Now, can't take away from the
fact that they are still an NFL franchise. Cannot take
away from the fact that you can only play and
beat whoever's on your schedule. So can't take that away
from the Cowboys. But I'm not gonna sit here and
sugarcoate it and be like, oh, it's y rainbows and

(02:51):
cupcakes and everything's great, the Cowboys are fixed. Nope, that
ain't the case. That is not the case. So let's
get started with your thoughts first on what you saw
Sunday and what are your feelings after that win in
the Meadowlands or.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
MetLife or New Jersey or whatever the hell.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
You want to call that place, because it's not actually.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
In New York.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
We're going to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Where's Florida? Where's Florida? Evans, Damn, damn, damn Jesus Christ, folks.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
This is why, this is why I try to work
with professionals, folks, but my budget is so light I
can't get any But anyway, go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, well, if you caught at the beginning of the episode,
I'm sure you heard Toby Keith rest in peace brother.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Fucking fuck him, he's an OU fan.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Fuck him anyway, man, Yeah, just kind of my thoughts
are and we are who they thought they were, right.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
But at the same time, man, you still have to
go out there and beat who you're going to beat,
just like in college. You know, you beat those mid
major teams, you beat the Boise States, you beat the
Oklahoma State Agriculture whatever the hell, or Purview A and
M whatever. You know, if you're a big, big team
like a Texas or an A and M or Michigan

(04:27):
or ay and as we all know about those teams,
you know, they're obviously the upper echelon on the college
I guess Spear and what they do when they play
those kind of smaller teams, they're kind of expected to win. So,
I mean, I don't see this game like that. I mean,
if you want to say that you saw it like that,
that's fine. But I saw a lot of good things

(04:49):
out of this game. The running game, for one, the
passing of Dak, him moving the ball down the field,
him finding different receivers, him just I'm manding the game
probably better than I've seen in a really long time.
I think his rookie year was probably his best year.

(05:10):
And I mean, obviously you're not going to play as
good as you did in the past, but I think
he's really dialed in. He's figuring out his weapons, he's
figuring out the defenses, he's moving people around, he's checking
into the right place, he's getting first downs. I do

(05:30):
have a caveat with that, it's I wish they would
stick to the run a little more. Yeah, that's twenty
two points. I think that was kind of more of
the game was already kind of in hand, and you know,
you kind of just started start putting your kind of
prevent defense out there to run down the clock. And
that's just my opinion, and that's what I believe when

(05:51):
I saw it. Luckily for you, man, you actually got
to watch the whole game, because man, you've had a
string of bad luck of what, lightning storms and god
knows what else. But what was the focus, man, was
it was The focus was to stop the running game.
The focus was to stop the Jets from getting that going.

(06:12):
And at first it was a little tough, but once
that happened, you know, the kind of domino effect that
started happening. I sent you some INQO here and I
didn't want to mention something a little bit about the
defense that kind of kind of you know, is strange
to me. They are actually getting some sacks, man, they
got some sacks.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
They're they're starting to accumulate and move their weight up
in the rankings. It's funny because when when a team
uh commits to something and it's not just about sacks, man,
you've got to stop the run first to lead up
to that.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
But man, I'm really.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Impressed with with the movement of the guys on the
d line. Man, the linebackers though, Man, they're killing me. Bro,
they are killing me. And I mean I was really impressed.
I mean, if you asked.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Me to give the Coup.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Was a grade, I'll give him an a minus because
it's just a subpar team and you should win. But
I still think they can do a whole lot better.
I can't wait till the next game.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Well, uh, first of all, I did not watch the
whole game because there was no reason for me.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
There was no reason for me.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
To sit there and watch that entire thing. That thing
was over after they scored. Once they got to thirty,
I was done. So I didn't watch the whole game.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
But we'll we'll talk more.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
In depth on on on Dak and the offense and everything.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
I mean overall, like I said, dude, it's it's a
good win. It's a solid win because you know, they
haven't lost in the last two games, and that's always
a good thing when you haven't. You know, when you're
winning streak or your unbeaten streak is better than a
losing streak. So the fact that you know they they

(08:04):
they got to two wins, they've got the two losses,
they've got the one tie. I mean, that's a good thing.
So it's still, it still leaves them relevant. It still
puts them in a spot to where they have a
chance to position themselves nicely in their division, possibly in

(08:24):
the NFC overall.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
But let's calm down.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
It's five games, okay, and they didn't play they didn't
play a very good team on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
I would give them a B at best because of
the fact that there's still so many issues with that defense.
And the only reason the defense looked as good as
it does is because the Jets absolutely suck.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Their offense is terrible. Their quarterback, their quarterback.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
I don't even know how this guy has a job,
let alone starting quarterback of an NFL franchise because he
can't throw worth a shit. You know, they put him
together with his former college teammate. Everybody said, oh, just wait,
just wait till he gets some weapons around him. Just wait,
you'll see what he can do. He's got some decent receivers,
he's got a hell of a running back, and he

(09:21):
still isn't doing anything special. He holds onto the ball
too long, he doesn't know how to read defenses, he
doesn't know how to make decisions. And this guy's been
in the league now for four years. So whereas the
defense look better, and yes they're getting sacks, you know, okay,
and the same thing should happen Sunday because Carolina is

(09:42):
not very good. And if they don't go out in
Carolina and dominate them like they did the Jets, then
that says more about the Cowboys than it says about
the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
So again, I.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Don't want to poopoo on the win. I don't want
to take away from the win. But this is this
isn't a high caliber team yet. The offense is high caliber,
there's no doubt about it. Dak has complete command of
this offense. But the team as a whole, no, no.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
It is not.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
It is not anywhere close to where it needs to
be to be considered one of the better teams in
the NFL. Now, the other thing I'm gonna say real quick,
and i'll turn it over back to you, is people
need to stop looking at the stats and talking about rankings.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
None of that shit matters. What matters is what happens.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
On the field, okay, Because you could have four or
five good defensive plays and then give up an eighty
yard bomb and people are gonna talk more about the
eighty yard bomb instead of the five defensive plays you've
made before that, and those those four or five defensive
plays may have turned into a negative number, while all

(10:55):
it takes is for one good offensive play and those
numbers are gone. And it's just the same thing with
the offense. If the offense struggles and has a three
and out and then the next drive has a big
play and scores a touchdown, nobody's talking about that three
and out. So the stats, the rankings, all of that
stuff doesn't mean anything right now. What it means is

(11:16):
the play on the field has got to continue to improve.
And you just said it. These linebackers, I don't know.
I don't know what to say about them. I've said
it since Game one. I've been saying it every week.
These linebackers are awful. I don't know where we picked
them up at. I don't know what we did to
deserve these guys. But they need to go back to
wherever in the hill they found them and leave them

(11:37):
there and figure out what they're gonna do about bringing
in some better linebackers.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Again.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
I know there's guys that have been injured, there's guys
that are out, there's guys that have come.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Back later this year. But can't worry about that shit.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Gotta worry about what they have now, and what they
have now is not very good at that position.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
What do you got?

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yeah, no, no, like I sent you the like I
was sending you these stats, but I wanted to just
kind of correlate something here.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
That's kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
You know, when they play Carolina here it says that
they're ninth, ninth and interceptions out of thirty something teams, right,
and they've got four and the Cowboys have won, but
they're twenty seven. So the discrepancy there is kind of weird.
And I know that it's the season's just starting, but
we're kind of at that point, man, we're almost at

(12:26):
like what a third of the.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Games, right, So you can remember Bill.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Parcell saying, you know, hey, you are what your score,
you know what your record says you are.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
I mean, that's just it, and you're right.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
The defense to me, well said this, some of the
linebacker play got a little bit better.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
In this game.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
But I mean regardless, because you could pin your years
back and you have them in tough situations, so you
know that they're blitzing or you know that they're coming,
or you know that you know what I mean. It
was kind of predictable. But you want to do it
when it's unpredictable, right, You want to do it when
it's against a stronger opponent. You know they did They

(13:06):
didn't really do it against Green Bay, you know, because
they gave it a ton of points. But if they'd
had a stop here or there, or you know, just
a stop for a first down, you know, we're talking
about a totally different record right now. But I will
say this.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
I mean, I'm gonna stick with the offense. Now, go
back to the offense.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Jamontae Williams, man if he has been like a really awesome,
pleasant surprise as to just what he's doing, his impact
on the team, his running ability, is his rushing, but
all that, I think it's just predicated man on the
offensive line too.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
But man, did you see this coming?

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Did you see this guy come in doing what he's doing? Now?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I mean yes and no.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
I mean he's never he's never been even the opportunity
to be an every down back the bell cow, you
know what I mean. Like he had moments, he had
flashes when he was with other teams, but it was
never consistent, Like he was never the full time starter
in some of these other places, and when he was,
they didn't really run the ball as well. They maybe

(14:18):
maybe the scheme wasn't good and the offensive line wasn't good,
their quarterback play wasn't good. So, I mean, there's a
variety of factors as to why he showed flashes, but
he was never able to be consistent with it. Right here,
he's starting to he's starting to build that consistency. He's
starting to get more comfortable with this offense, you know,

(14:38):
and to to shot he's credit, you know, he's he's
made this pretty simple for the running backs, you know
what I mean, there's there's no there's no craziness about
what the running back has to read and how their
running back has to react this the way or that way.
It's pretty much hand off the ball and hit the pot,

(15:00):
you know, one cut and go. And so when you
simplify it like that.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
It makes it kind of eases these guys' minds a
little bit because they're not having to overthink about, oh,
I got to look for this, and I've got to
do that and this that and the other.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
You know what, you're the starter. We're going to give
you the ball.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
If you get two yards, fine, if you get ten yards, fine,
we're still going to give you the ball. And the
one thing that I like about him is the fact
that he does appear to be getting stronger as the
games go on.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
That's why he had that run there.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Before halftime, because you know, he broke a couple of tackles.
That wasn't like he was he went untouched. He broke
a couple of tackles on that run. You know, and
when and you know this, when you can begin to
do that and dominate a team and just pretty much
do what you want to do when you want to
do it, and you break their spirit that way, I mean,

(15:58):
that's tough for them to come out of that locker
room in the second half and go full out and
and try to give you a fight. Like you said,
those scores that the Jets got late, the game was
already decided that the game was over, you know what
I mean, Those those scores had no significance on that game.
But part of that was why because the Cowboys ran

(16:19):
it down their throats and put it to them. And
I give Javonte a lot of credit. Five rushing touchdowns
already this year. That's the most by a Cowboys running
back in the last four seasons already. So that should
tell you something about how much this running game struggled
the last few seasons. And what did I tell you

(16:41):
the other day, man, Dak's success is predicated on a
solid running game. And you see it. You see the
confidence that Dak is playing with.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
You see the.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
You know, just relaxation that he's playing with. There's nothing
about Dak's game right now now that looks overwhelmed. Everything
seems to be coming at a flow. Everything seems to
be hitting correctly. And I think if he continues to
play at this level and continues to do things, they're
going to continue to win ball games. Can the defense

(17:15):
do enough to help them with that, we'll see. But offensively, man,
it's it's hard to say anything negative about this Cowboys
offense because they have been clicking on all cylinders since
the beginning of the season. You know, I still say,
if there's no delay, they probably beat the Eagles. You
know what happened in Chicago, you know whatever, it was

(17:38):
a bad game, whatever, And then of course the game
against Green Bay that showed they could put points on
the on the board. That shows that they could be unstoppable.
And then look what they did this past weekend. So
the kudos to the offense, kudos to Shati. Dak has
looked tremendous. And you know, I even hit I even

(17:59):
hit the that's my quarterback the other day on Facebook
and I haven't done that in a while.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
So they look really good.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
What are your thoughts on Dak and how well he's
played so far this season and what do you see
in him that has kind of flipped the switch, so
to speak.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Let me finish up on Javonte. Dude, I'm seeing here
he's averaging five point seven yards to carry.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
I mean, that's just that's just crazy. Man, that's a.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Crazy number against I would say probably two solid opponents
and the rest were kind of I guess you could
say mediocre five tds for the year. You're right, man,
that's a big deal. And if you put two plays,
if I put two plays on his shoulders for this
season so far, there's the fumble, right, and then there's

(18:50):
that play. You just mentioned the play right before the half,
because I mean he literally ran over one of his
own guys. Too, And I know you saw the ha bro.
It was like painful to watch because he just say, hey,
get the hell out of my way, and he just
I mean, I will say this man, the fact that
he didn't score.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Man, I mean I.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Wanted to make a joke about it that he's soft,
But hell no, bro, Man, he just had.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
A tough game. Uh, he had an awesome game. He
showed who he is.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
That offensive line is opening holes for him. And even
if when in the moment is when the crack it's
just a tiny crack, he makes and exploits the most
of it. And that's what you want out of your
running back.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Man.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
He wants more than just what's presented to him, and
he makes he makes the right place.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Hey hey, hey, real quick.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
The other thirty three would have scored, you know, Tony,
Tony Dorset would have scored. So you know, you can
you can say that he's whatever he is because he
didn't score. Tony Dorset would have scored. So get in
the damn en zone, Davonte, Get in there at Devin
and I don't even have him on my fantasy team.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Come on, man, get the points, all right, man? Go ahead,
go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
You're right, brother, And just talking about dak Man, you're right, man.
The game has not just slowed down for him, man,
but he's he's playing forty chests with these with these punks,
no matter who he plays.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
He did it against the Bay, he did it against
the Giants, he did it against Philadelphia in my opinion,
and two or.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Three catches and we're having a different discussion about that
being a win, and not only that, a couple more
catches there with Green Bay and you know, I mean
you're literally with one loss for the season in my opinion.
But I mean, I don't know that the Bears game
to me was just a hiccup. I mean, maybe it
was a good game plan defensive League called against him,

(20:44):
and maybe the players on the defense on that Chicago
side were just.

Speaker 5 (20:49):
Better that day.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
I mean, I don't know CD going down, but I
will say this, and that's kind of what I want
to harken to. Dak is only as good those receivers
that are converting those those catches, right, And I have
to mention Flornoy. Flornoy, I mean, just dude, he stepped up, right.

(21:11):
He came to the game. You know, the eighty eight's
not there, and he's just been balling out. Man, he's
been balling up. I mean, he's been playing pretty solid
when the opportunities.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Come his way.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
But I mean, Flornoy has just shown me a lot.
Pickings has picked up the slack that CD isn't there
because he's obviously the number one. Now Ferguson, I'm gonna
might have to change his name to not first down Ferguson,
but to touchdown Ferguson.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
But let's just hope that continues. But you're just sticking him.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
First down Ferguson for me. Bro Man, dude, Dak was
was slinging it everywhere. I will say this man, that
one touchdown that that Williams had. They were in an
eye formation and I was like, wow, I haven't seen
that in a while. And I mean they score, man,
they ran it right. I think it's number forty. I
can't think of his name. I mean, I mean, there

(22:05):
was just no resistance. Man. The offensive line is just
clicking and when they want to do something and they
want to impose their will on the defense. Obviously the
Jets are a lesser team, but still you want to
continue that, you want to keep doing that you want
to keep getting not field goals but touchdowns, and which
leads me to kind of my one man, dude, it

(22:28):
hurts my heart, it hurts my soul and my boy.
And he missed an extra point and I'm just like, Bro.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
That's not his fault.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
What happened, that's not his fault.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
There was that penalty that got him. You know, they
got they got that fifteen yard penalty and it backed them.
And I know he should have been automatic, but I'm
sure the mindset was different thinking extra point compared to
field goal, and that's what threw him off, you know.
So I blame whoever got that penalty that screwed him up.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
You know what I mean, right man?

Speaker 2 (23:07):
But yeah, man, I'm really super impressed with Dak. I
don't want to jinx and I'm knocking on wood. Bro,
you're the man right now, and you're in contention for MVP,
and I'm gonna say, I'm gonna to tell you why.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
A lot of the guys out there that.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Are in contention, they have better teams, Bro, They just
have better defenses.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
They have better better things, not just not just on.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
The offensive side, because because offensive on the offense, you know,
Dak has kind of got that. I don't want to
say covered because we got a long season left, but
if the defense can can pick up the slack, just
get to mid season, man, just get to the middle
of the road, middle of the pack defensive wise, and
these linebackers can just man close on these these tackles, man,

(23:52):
and just you know, close those gaps.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
It's it's kind of hard to watch sometimes because you think,
you think, oh.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
You know there, there's there should be somebody there in
that hole. And man, they're just too gaping. I mean,
they do kind of auto correct eventually, and they slow
the running backs down. But I don't want that, man,
I want them to shut them down. And I mean
they kind of did with Barkley, you know, and and
they kind of did with with this this kid.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
All.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
I mean, so, I mean they're showing me something. They're
showing me something, but on the on the passing side
of it, or on the playing defense. When there when
when the offense is opposing offense is trying to get
down the field with the pass, they just have to
get that more squared away and cleaned up.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Well, I think I know they switched the scheme a
little bit this past week, so they went more to
man to man on the back end than they did
the previous four weeks. So that that helped a little bit.
And you know, Diggs is still a liability. Like let's
let's not pretend that this guy is as good as
he once was. Once again, shout out to Toby Keith.

(24:58):
But but u but but I think in man to
man it helps him a little bit more because he
is willing to take a risk, he is willing to
make a play. He's not gonna tackle anybody, He's not
gonna he's not gonna do anything special. You know, he
wants to be put out there on an island with
somebody and he wants to compete.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
And that's fine.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
And when you when you play some of the better
quarterbacks and receivers, we'll see if that's if that's a
good thing for you to be able to play in
that type of defense. So I think them doing that
is helping. I think a pass rush is gonna help.
Like you said, they've got you know, they got multiple
sacks on Sunday. You know, this Houston guy, I don't

(25:41):
know where he was. I don't know why Detroit let
him go, But he's played well. I saw a stat
he has three and a half sacks on the year.
Micah Parsons has two and a half. So I'm not
I mean, I'm not saying that he's Micah. But if
you're getting equal to, or in some cases a little

(26:02):
bit better production out of a guy that you're paying
for one million dollars and the guy that you let
go or trade it away is making forty million and
he's not doing as well as this guy is, I
don't know. Maybe that that says something, but uh, there

(26:25):
is the potential there for the Cowboys defense to get better. Yes,
it's just it's not very good right now. It's it's
it's one of those things that you know, you kind
of hold your breath as a Cowboys fan when they
get out on the field because you're like, oh man, please,
please God, don't let them, don't let them screw this up.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
You know.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
That's why I say, like, this game against Carolina, it's
not gonna be easy, right It's still an NFL team.
Carolina may still do something to surprise them.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
You know, your your favorite, your favorite Former.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
Running back ric o'dowdo has a lot to say about
the Cowboys so you.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Know they could come with something you never.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
Know but dead to me, but bro, But it's one of.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Those things that if they have an opportunity to make
plays on the defensive side, they need to do that.
They need to take advantage and get teams off the field.
And you know, Carolina this week, the Redskins next week. Man,
I mean, the Cowboys have a chance to swring together
a few wins and get them themselves in a good

(27:32):
position in their division and ultimately in the NFC. Now
you said it, some of these other guys that are
on the MVP level, which to me, to me, honestly,
there's only one guy that's playing as good. I don't
think he's playing better, but I do think he's playing
as good as Dak and that's the quarterback of Tampa.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
I'm not gonna say his name.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
I'm not gonna acknowledge him because of the damn school
he went and to hell with them and to hell
with that damn school north of the Red River.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
So I'm not gonna say his name.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
But if you know who I'm talking about, the quarterback
at Tampa, he might because he has a better team,
he might be the front runner for MVP.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
But that's that's just me. What do you got?

Speaker 5 (28:23):
Wow, you're really gonna say that. I don't know about that.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
Well, but but I mean I'm saying, I'm saying he's
playing as well as Dak.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Right, and if and if the media, if the media
voted on.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
It today, they're giving him that award because he has
a better team. If they're just basing it off of
if they're just basing it off of play, and you
don't look at the record and you don't look at
the team, and you're saying this guy and this guy,
I'm saying Dak is the guy. But I'm not the

(28:58):
one that gets to decide that, so.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Right, you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (29:04):
Yeah? So what about that kid?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Uh, I can't say his name, Pauwata or fat or whatever.
What do you think about him?

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Man?

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Because that kid is showing me some stuff. Man, He's
I mean, I think he's a solid linebacker. I mean,
he plays, he makes plays in spurts. But if he
finds he figures it out. And this Houston kid keeps
doing what he's doing, clowney starts picking up whatever he
needs to do. I mean, I don't think he's in
game shait yet, bro, But they are starting to close
that close that window. They're starting to collapse that pocket,

(29:36):
slowly but surely, game by game, and I started to
see it. I saw it a lot the last game,
obviously because it's a less routine. But man, there they are.
They're they're they're starting to gel. I'm not gonna say
they're gelling yet because I mean, again, you still give
up twenty two points. But again, I mean that was
in garbage, simon. I'm not gonna knock them for that,

(29:58):
but I mean, i mean, yeah, what three point six
points forever in the day, you know. So we'll see
what happens coming coming next week. We're a third of
the way kind of in the in the season. I mean,
is there something that has surprised you from another team
that you're just like, okay, wow, I didn't never saw
that come in? Uh?

Speaker 5 (30:19):
Or do you have an opinion on that.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
As far as another team, right, I mean, there's there's
a few early season surprises. I mean, you know, the
Broncos going into Philadelphia beating the Eagles this past weekend.
You know, the Broncos have played fairly well to start
the season. You know, a team like Jacksonville. They you know,

(30:43):
they just beat the Chiefs. You know they've been They've
been a pleasant surprise in a lot of ways. Honestly,
I didn't think your your favorite quarterback up there in
Pittsburgh was gonna play as well as he has and
have that team playing as well as they are. In
the NFC, there's really no one that surprises me, man.
I mean when you look at you know, the the

(31:04):
top teams in the NFC are who Philadelphia, the Rams,
the the Lions. You know, you might be able to
throw the Redskins in there. You could maybe say the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Right.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
So, like, none of the stuff in the NFC side
surprises me. The AFC has a few more surprises, I think,
and you know it's it's gonna be interesting. I mean,
look look at what New England's doing. Man, they just
went to Buffalo and upset the Bills, you know what
I mean? Which, which, by the way, can we stop

(31:38):
with these freaking icy white uniforms things? Okay, just because
you have a damn white uniform doesn't make it icy. Okay,
this this, oh my god, everybody's icy. Everybody's icy. No
you're not not. Everybody is that Okay, you have a
white uniform. That's what you have, a white uniform. Ain't

(32:01):
nothing icy about it. Okay, stop it, bro, Stop.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
It, bro. That the reason they lost is I was
calling I was gonna call him posh Alan bro because
I mean that thing was so glittery, dude, it just
needed more glitter. And I thought, what the hell is this?
They deserve to lose his game? And I hope they
lose this game because I don't know what the hell
that was. It's just it just made me want to puke.
And I'm like, please, just please kick their ass today,

(32:27):
you know, to kick their ass, you know what I lost.
And I was just like, I guarantee you they're never
wearing that shit again.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
You know what they needed? What dude, they needed more
cow bell. That's what they needed. They needed more cow bell.
You know, I have a fever, you.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
So yeah, that's exactly That's exactly what they needed. But yeah, man,
I mean it's just.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
I'm right there with you.

Speaker 6 (32:52):
Man.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
To me, a big surprise is to me, it's Baltimore, Bro.
Baltimore is just just I don't know, they're like a
shell of themselves now and they're they lose, they lose,
they're losing games, They're they're they're they're losing players, they're
falling apart.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
But again, you know, it's just the beginning of the season.
And again, I.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Don't know how far that'll take, how far that team
will go, because I was kind of pulling for them
this year to to kind of overtake the Buffalo team
because I can't stand him, and I don't know, Man, We'll.

Speaker 5 (33:26):
See what's happening. Man.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
To me, Miami is a big what the hell, bro?
You know what I mean, I don't know what's going
on there. The Chiefs, the Chiefs as well. Man, they're
they're I don't know how they lost that game to Jacksonville,
but maybe Jacksonville has figured it out, man, Trubert Lawrens.
I'm not a fan. I'm not a Jacksonville fan. I'm
just I mean, that Monday night game was was fucking

(33:50):
fun to watch. Bro. I will say that I was like, Damn, what.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
The hell, bro?

Speaker 2 (33:54):
This guy did not want to lose, and he was
tough and he was fell down and then he still
got up and you know he ran it in for
the cour And I mean, you can't I mean that's awesome, bro.
You can't teach that. Let's just want to win and
that means that means to me that his old line
is gelling and protecting him more than what you think.
Because you just don't fall down and then trip again

(34:16):
and then fall into the end zone. That does doesn't happen.
So that just means that your offensive line is doing
what they need to to give you that time. But man, yeah,
that to me is Baltimore and I think Miami and
Jacksonville are probably the three teams.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
You're right Denver as well.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
I mean, maybe they're trying to figure it out and
I'm glad that they helped us out there with the
Philly game. But we'll see a man moving forward because
to me, Philly always seems to kind of luck and
fall backwards into a win. And it's a long season, bro.
You know, injuries are going to start to come on
all teams, so we'll see what happens. And I mean,

(34:54):
I'm thankful that the Cowboys won. It's not a what victory?
What Wednesday?

Speaker 5 (35:00):
Is it? Victory Wednesday again?

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Yeah? Victory Wednesday again. I'm just that it's victory and
they're at five hundred. They could easily be three and
one or whatever, four and one in my opinion, but
I'll take it.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
I hate that it's another early start because it sucks
because I.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Worked late nights, Saturday nights, and man, I'm getting home
at two or three in the morning and it's hard
to wake up for a noon game. But man, I
will take it. And Rico, you're dead to me, bro,
just like that Rocky movie man, to hell with you.
I wouldn't throw the towel in for you.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Yeah, Rico, Rico, He's had a lot to say, so
it'll be very interesting to see what he does. He
did have a good game this past week, man, so
if you're giving him the touches, maybe maybe he will.
Of course, he's from that Carolina area. I believe he
went to South Carolina for college, so you know that
may be part of that home cooking. He's probably sleeping
in his in his mama's basement on the same you know,

(35:56):
twin matches that he had when he was in high school.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
So you know, maybe maybe being home has helped him.
But we'll see.

Speaker 5 (36:02):
Man.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
The Cowboys playing well, playing better, should give themselves an
opportunity to win this week. Should have that opportunity to
get out of there with a victory.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
And you're right, man.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Anytime you can have a victory Wednesday, victory, Tuesday, whatever
day of the week you want to.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Call it, that's always a good thing.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
The flip side to it is the fact that they've
let some of these games get away, you know what
I mean. They should have easily beaten the Eagles, they
should have beaten the Packers, and you're right, man, they
could easily be four and one right now. But they
are what they are and that's fine. And like I
said earlier in the episode, man, it's.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Better to have.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
An unbeaten streak than it is to have a losing streak.
So the fact that they've got a tie and a
win the last two weeks is still better than them
having a loss.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
So let's see if they build on the momentum. Let's
see if they continue to progress.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Let's see if they can continue to move forward, and
you know, maybe maybe next week when we get together,
we're talking about them, you know, with the third victory
of the season and and then putting a pounding on
the Carolina Panthers. So that's all I got, man. Once again,
thank you so much. For joining me. Always fun to
talk Cowboys, always fun to talk about the team that

(37:24):
we love and NFL. Well, now we're now, we're about
to get in the thick of it. You're right, We've
we've finished one third of the season. We're about to
get into the thick of it. It's about to get
very interesting. Time for the Cowboys to put it together
and build momentum.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
That's all I got. You got anything before we wrap
it up?

Speaker 4 (37:47):
Thank you? Yeah, all I'm saying. All I'm saying is
I do appreciate the applause. However, there's always applause going
off in my head, so you know, whether you give
it to me or not, somebody's.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Always clapping for me. That's all I got to say. Anyways.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
Fan Poll Sports the true tech sports podcast for the
true tech sports fan.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Once again, this has been Ronnie. That's Mark and we're out.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
Peace.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Oh boy, steal sad
