fashion trends. But let's start with fashion news. Remember, offer

(01:08):
new segments are based on a fashion news alerts found
on Fashion reverrey dot com.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Okay, so I'm going to kick off this episode with
our fashion news. Of course, I always get the darker topics,
so everyone knows who Ricardo Tishy is and he is
facing sexual allegation charges based on a newly filed US lawsuit.

(01:37):
He is charged with drugging a young man, Patrick Cooper,
in New York City restaurant and later sexually assaulting him
in his townhouse in soho So. The Independent, the British newspaper,
broke this story last week. Tishy and New York City

(02:01):
Police Department would not comment on any of these allegations.
But the only information we have is from mister Cooper,
who is bisexual and states that he wouldn't go with Ricardo,
you know, for overnight sleepover. But you know, he said

(02:24):
he went out to have a good night and after
that he doesn't remember. He doesn't remember much after having
a drink and then waking up in the morning next
to mister Tissy. So we will see what happens. But
mister Cooper did go to the hospital after that morning

(02:46):
and rape the rape kit test was conducted. So I
guess we'll see what happens as these as this case proceeds.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Like say, through the hour glass, these are the scandals
of our lives. In happier news, Paris Hilton is expanding
her beauty brand. We all know Paris Hilton is very
famous for her fragrances, which have made her a billionaire
in her own right. I think the valuation of her
fragrance company is something like two billion dollars. And she's
getting ready to launch her thirtieth fake fragrance from Paris Hilton.

(03:23):
And in addition to her thirtieth fragrance, she's also getting
into skincare, peptide focus things, creams, cleansers, moisturize, there's everything
to help with the day to day stress. And if
you're staring at the screen all the time, because you know,
screen time can action be detrimental to your skin. So
Paris Hilton's here to help us keep not only help

(03:44):
us keeping smelling good, but keeping the face tight and
fresh as well.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Now too, that's good. I mean I like Paris. She
always comes up with some innovative things. Thirty France, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
No Jesus around How long do they have thirty fragrances?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, she's definitely something, But I like Paris. In the
last news alert of the Fashion News and Fashion Reverie,
former British Folk Editor in Chief Edward Anningfold has returned
to Media World with a new magazine. It's called seventy
two magazine. It's quarterly. It will focus on fashion, beauty, culture,

(04:29):
and luxury. He stated that he founded this media and
entertainment company as built as a platform first and then
having a seventy two magazine as its cornerstone. So he's

(04:50):
trying to bring together best in class terms to define
and deliver boundary breaking storytelling and content. Oh, let's see how.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
We like it.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Well, I, for one, I've always been a big Edward
Endful fan. I love what he did in British Vogue,
so I'm super excited to see what he's going to
do with this new media platform.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Let's see. That's about it for our Fashion News Alert.
We have some exciting interviews coming up.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Now moving on to we'll be speaking today with Mas Schleoter,
a Canadian based stylist. We're fresh off the met Gala
this week, as we know, the super Bowl of fashion.
This is one of the biggest moments in fashion desires
go all out with these custom looks on the red carpet,
and you know we're getting a stylist perspective on this

(05:48):
year's looks. Mason, I'm happy to have you join us
from You're coming uts from Toronto today, aren't you.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
I am, I'm coming from sunny Toronto.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
How's the weather there today? You said it's sunny. How's
the temperature?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
It's in Canadian temperature, it's seventeen degrees.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Okay, so that's what I think. If I do the math,
that's sixty four degrees. Fahrenheyp for our best listeners, which is,
you know, that's a nice spring day, not too hot,
not too cold. At most you need a light jacket. Yesis,
And I'm happy to have you join us today. And
you were observing the twenty twenty five met Gala this
year from your home in Serranto, watching the red carpet

(06:31):
picks roll in from your computer. What were some of
your first impressions and what were your favorite looks from
this year's met Gala?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Top three?

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Top three?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Okay, that was very it was very hard. I would say,
first off, my first impressions is that, once again I'm
very disappointed that a lot of celebrities don't tend to
use stylin. They tend to go with brands, and the

(07:02):
brands dress them on according what they deem is the theme,
and some people just roll up in whatever they want.
As a stylist, I was literally sitting in my chair
gagging and being like, oh my god, she literally looks
like she just came from a nightclub. Why she wearing

(07:23):
a body suit? But I would say my favorite looks
is actually it's the whole Tom Brown family, everyone that
showed up in the Tom Brown custom suits and outfits
and gowns and everything. Really Tom Brown. I was thinking

(07:45):
as we were the theme was rolled out, I was like,
who would go to from most celebrities, and I was
thinking Tom Brown because he knows tailoring. He knows how
to construct a beautiful garment both in gowns and also couteur,
and he's showing in his New York shows that he
can really be avant garde but also keeping that tailored

(08:08):
aesthetic that is Tom Brown. So I was very impressed
to see even the creative kind of novelty look that
he made for Demi Moore with that tie, and even
though I wasn't tailoring, it paid a more creative view
on suiting and on the accessories that go with suiting.

(08:32):
So I thought that was a very fun play. But
my favorite look out of the whole Tom Brown family
is Janelle Monee. See that creative vibe with the silhouette
of a man going to the office, and then underneath
is the actual suit, the monocle with the bowler hat.

(08:53):
I just like Janelle Money. Every season you bring it,
You bring your own kooky, creative out of the box
ideas to something that could be just taken very basically,
but puts her own twist on it, which I always
am here for. My second one is Tiana Taylor as

(09:17):
I was living for her homage to dandyism and also
to her song Harlem Rose, which I got all that.
The moment she stepped up, my breath was taken away
because I was like, she is it is about black tailoring.
She is living this, She's showing her culture, she's showing

(09:39):
the essence of where it came from and where it
is today. And it was just studying the details, the construction,
the textures, and also the little ribbons that had all
the sayings on it. It was just it was very
well done. I applaud her like ten out of ten,

(10:00):
one hundred percent. And last but not least, Jody Turner.
That Burgundy look by Burberry. I never ever ever thought
Burberry could pull off something that stunning.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
It was.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Just delicious. She looked fantastic in it. It was elegant.
It showed a more Victorian style of a dandy, which
I loved, completely in love with. And of course, you
know there's a there's a few that could have got

(10:42):
a lot more help.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Were not so favorite looks.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
I'll start off with Angela. She literally just showed up
in a leather jacket and a Madonna nineteen eighties look
with a Chanelle chain belt and like Chanel pearl necklace.
And I literally was sinking to myself, who put her

(11:10):
in this? Who thought, yeah, this is a look that
will slay and get attention. It got attention, but I
don't think in the proper it Literally it felt as
if we fell on a rack and said yeah, I'll
wear this, and it was very disappointing. I'm like, it

(11:33):
is the Macalla. You show up, you go to the extremes.
Every season, I sit here and I draw over nine
outfits that I would put on somebody or I would
wear myself, dedicated to the theme and my view on
the theme. Another one is Patrick Schwarzenegger. I love that

(11:58):
Sean from McQueen was trying trying to put him in
a suit, but you know, red and yellow. We're not
serving mustard and ketchup. And on top of it, he
looked so uncomfortable the entire time. It just did not
suit his aesthetic. It did not suit his vibe. I

(12:19):
felt like some more details should have been put into it,
maybe you know, tossling up his hair, not creating that
pretty boy aesthetic. It's just it looked very uncomfortable. He
looked uncomfortable. I could just tell that this is not
what he wanted to wear. It was just forced onto
him and he wore it. I could just be reading

(12:41):
into it, but that's the takeaway from it. It made
me uncomfortable as a stylist to see a client, a
potential client uncomfortable at the biggest event of the season.
And last, but not least, Helen. You know, Pheol Williams
did her dirty in that you know, body suit with

(13:03):
a leather jacket. There was no tailoring at all. Gorgeous,
but that's a very after party look, not a red
carpet mcgala look. It was unfortunate because I'm like, you're
you know you. Ferral shows up in this blazer with
pearls on in a beautiful custom tailored suit and then

(13:25):
she shows up in an after party. Look, it either
was last minute or she just didn't want to wear
something that fit into the esthetic. Don't know what went
on there, but it just did not read mac Gala
to me. It read Fashion Week front row.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Well, it might be the super Bowl of fashion, but
you know, just like with a Super Bowl, not everyone's
going to hit a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
No.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
So moving on, let's talk about some Spring twenty twenty
five trends you think consumer should know about.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
So, the biggest one that I have been seeing more
and more and more lately is I call it the
white Lotus effect. Luxury sunglasses are huge for a long time,
they kind of did a dip. People weren't really buying them.
People weren't taking sunglasses as serious as fashion people do.

(14:25):
But the normal consumer just was like, you know, I'll
grab my twenty dollars pair just so I have it.
But now since they've been seeing you know, all these
celebrities in the show where these beautiful sunglasses in these
beautiful locations and just being completely chaotic, is created this

(14:45):
new trend of wanting to be those people, and that's
also led into resort wear, and resort wear is usually
reserved for more the winter season when everyone's trying to
escape the cold winter, but now everyone wants to live
in those you know, shawls and kaftans and really have

(15:07):
those tropical prints and loose fitted clothes, more billowy, more
relaxed silhouettes, luxury textures and fabrics. It's it's been a trend.
And also I've seen it with every fast fashion brand
collaborating with more designers to do more resort collections to

(15:32):
inspire people to come back into the stores and feel
that you know, white lotus experience that you know, you
could potentially be on a boat with Jennifer Coolidge in
the middle of Sicily. And of course Athlesia wear is
still continuing to be a huge part of the trend.

(15:56):
Windbreakers in the more softer palettes are coming back. But
the one color esthetic in general for all for ready
to wear leisure wear everything is that Mocha Muse sorry correction,
mochap moose color, which I actually find very rich, very vibrant,

(16:17):
very elegant compared to all the other brown textures that
have been released over the years. It looks great on
many skin tones, very elegant, and I would also say
another trend that has kind of slipped back in from
the early two thousands is that summer plaid, not really

(16:40):
Gingham and not really Scottish plaid, but that in between
Americana plaid, which has that more bigger stripes and lines
and more that country bunk and feel with a dash
of boho and tailoring. Tailoring is huge, as we saw,

(17:03):
like at the Mecallathene suits, oversized blazers, wide like pants
that are really well tailored to the body, just a
lot of masculine textures and structures to kind of move
away from the feminine movement that has been seen in
fashion with men wearing skirts and you know, women wearing

(17:26):
a lot more like silk blouses moving in a more
masculine direction to kind of change up the game a
little bit. That you know, fashion can change on a
dime and not always be in one direction, and it
could just completely change. And I'm really here for seeing
all these oversized suits as I'm wearing a oversized blazer

(17:48):
that I've belted and put a wide leg pant with
and I've been doing that for a long time, and
it's great to see that Trent has finally caught up
into the world.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
To stay to fashion in Toronto right now?

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Oh god, lackluster.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Torontonians are very big on Lululemon and r W and Co.
And so very minimalism. Minimalism is the key in Canadian
Torontonian culture. Obviously being a fashion person, I stand out
like a sore thumb in a as my mother says,
a I am a fruit loop and a ball of cheerios.

(18:38):
It is very very streamlined, very conservative, very minimal which
is very odd. A lot of people think Canadians are
very upbeat, very loud, very exciting. Unfortunately, we if people
really saw our fashion, it would hit the mark.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
All right, Well, thank you very much for talking with
us today, Mason.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
It is my pleasure. Thank you for having me.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
All right.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
We will speak to you soon and hopefully the state
of fashion in Toronto picks up.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I hope so too, well, Viewers.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
We have a special appearance today. It is our stylist
editor Ranessa Old. Welcome Ronesta to Fashion every Talks.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Thank you so much. It's so good to see you again. Tianna.
I'm so excited to be here today.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Good to see you too. You have a very extensive
Mother's Day gift list this year. Ranesta.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
So let's talk about your picks and why you chose
particular items like a lavender peppermint oat scrub and grapefruit
sunrise by Void Soap, for example.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
Yeah. So indeed the list is extensive this year, but
I really wanted to hone in on self care products.
So today I want to show you. This is Void Soap,
natural ingredients, the lavender peppermint oat scrub. But everything that's

(20:16):
going on in this world, I think women are looking
for some pampering. Mothers are looking for a little spy
day at home. So I want to pull some pieces
and gather some pieces that and it smells absolutely wonderful,
Tianna that you can stay home. Maybe you can't go
to Elizabeth Ardien Spy this year or another high end

(20:37):
spired sacks, but you can create a spat day at home.
So this is Voyd Soap, lavender peppermint oak scrub, and
it revitalizes your skin and your day with natural exfoliating
ingredients and it's organic and it's or natural, so almost
every woman can use that without having any type of reaction.

(20:57):
And then another gift the stones. What is it, It's
called Femstones. The brand them stones. You might hear a
little bit of my Brooklyn, the southern accent mixed up together.
So these are set against it also soap or Now

(21:18):
these are stones. These are rocks, natural rocks that have
different meanings fors rosemary forts. And what I loved about
this little gift set is that the designer made boxes
so that you can give some of these stones to
the women and the mothers in your life to hold

(21:39):
dear to their own heart. And each stone, yeah, each
stone has a different meaning. So perhaps you know you're
into je or your mother is into j you can
give her the jade stone and you can keep the
quart stone for yourself. And you guys are connected. So
every time, Tiana, if I give you a quart stone,

(22:00):
gonna think, oh, Vanessa's thinking about me. So I thought
that this was a lovely gift, but a nice price point.
And then I wanted, you know, we love persons as women,
we love bags, so I thought this was beautiful. This
is a toe bag as a removable boat. It's a
stiletto shoe. It opens like this and you can head

(22:26):
out the door. This is real Artisian work. This is
hand made for those moms and the women in your
life that a mother figures that like something eclectic, something unusual,
something different from what you're seeing in the store. I
had to include this bag in my mother's day gift God,

(22:47):
and finally I left this to the end. It came
spot so pretty, so that's unrapic. This is another self
care product from cosmetology.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Okay, yeah, I know what is that? That was a
gift set.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
Right, yes, yes, so it came back to really lovely.
And it's a rose water floors me too cleansing and tona,
so I think this will be a HIGs and it's
also natural. It's also natural ingredients that won't cause any

(23:23):
type of reaction. And this is the face moisturizer. So
it's a two piece set. The price one is really good.
It's all natural. Most women will love it. The rolls
water Tona gives you a little refreshment, resets your makeup.
You're ready to go out the door, or just kind
of calm you down. You live in New York City

(23:44):
and you know how it is when you get on
the train and it's so packed and tight, you step off,
you splits a little bit. You feel refreshed, you're ready
to go on about your day, So I have to
include these four gifts that I give that And if
you haven't gotten your Mother's Day gift yet, maybe haven't
seen her yet, head on over to Fashion Wethery's website.

(24:04):
It's a great list of choices. Just show her the
confirmation paper, the confirmation email, let her know it's on
his way.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
That's amazing. And so you know, we all have a
little jewelry. Any jewelry recommendations.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
Yes, so Simone I. Smith. She is the wife of
Ella PJ. She has had her own jewelry line out
for many years. Beautiful Jewelry Simoneismith dot Com, corsdlor is
another jewelry company. I am ran freshwater pearls. I love pearls.
I love freshwater pearls, so I'm always gonna choose a

(24:43):
beautiful pearl set to give as the Mother's they gift.
But it's so many. You can do costume, you could
do natural stones. This jewelry has something for everyone. You
can do birthstones. I'm born in May, my stone is Inwroads,
so I'll be looking for an illwroldstone set tomorrow or
next Sunday. But it's my actual birthday, so yeah, Drewry

(25:05):
is a timeless, classic gift that never goes out of
style and you're sure to find something for the woman
in your life. So talking about Drewry, we have some
great gifts from out of Spirit and this is how
it came. I love packaging. I think that most women
do for us. It's the details, right, It's the pretty

(25:26):
little ribbons and the bowls and the boxes and then
they put it in a sleeve for you. But they're
absolutely beautiful out of Spirit. I hope you can see it.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Huge that's every day.

Speaker 5 (25:38):
And it's a three piece set so you can layer them,
and that's what's happening in accessories that there's a lot
of layering so I can do like this, I can
put my braceless on and I'm ready to go. So
we've covered gifts for Drury for women that love excess

(26:00):
and jewry, women that love self care days. But we're
gonna need something to help you feel good in the inside.
So I wanted to feature a uh magbiotic magiotic that
you can take as a supplement to help you rest,
weut and sleep at night to be juveniate so that
when you rake up in the morning, you're ready to

(26:21):
put on all these wonderful gifts, you feel good from
the inside outside as well. And finally, finally, this is pickleball.
Have you heard of pickleball, Piana?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Well, yes, isn't that like an actual training? Like I
tried it, but I want to see what's in the box.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Yeah, so it's from the Pretty Pickle They sit over
a paddle, so you know, sometimes you need to get
a little older. If we want to go back into sports,
we have some more time now. I thought it was
like racketball back in the days when you kind of
just hit the ball against the wall. But this is
the Pretty Pickleball Company and they have since over this

(27:07):
wonderful it says, joined the warrior court, this wonderful paddle
for us to play pickleball. So I am now looking
for an outfit so that when I take out my
tattle and the balls to play, I have to be
in a fashionable pickleball skirt set. So I hope everyone
enjoys our whether's they gift. God, there's so many options,

(27:28):
there's something for everyone there.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
I love your choices. Thank you for sharing and for
finishing up with such a special item like this pickleball.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
Yes, no of course right and healthy, A healthy I
try to say to always going into the store, take
my mouth for a walk and some pickleball and she's
all sack.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yes, thank you so much for esta. It was a pleasure.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
