So let's jump into the current eventsin fashion and let's start with the
new Sicily, Oh my goodness, well Gap and mtell Now, I don't
know unless your guests are sitting undera rock, you may have gotten hurdle

(01:30):
a little bit about the Barbie movie, which is starring Margot Robbie and again
Barbie, the iconic doll and Toyis the reference for a new collaboration with
Gap and Mattel, and it's goingto be two iconic brands coming together with

(01:53):
a focus on individuality and connecting throughcreativity and expression. The Gap Barbie collection
is offering tea, skirts, hoodies, button downs, all the stuff you
mean, even pet apparel and um, they're gonna be icons that feature the

(02:13):
classic Barbie branding and Gaps signature typeface. So like fans of Barbie, fans
of Gap, I think this isgoing to be your jam. Maybe fans
of Pink. I mean, she'skind of a perfect match for a Barbie
movie. I'm happy with who theycast as a Barbie because Varga looks exactly

(02:37):
like a typical Barbie doll. So, but the match of Bobby Barbie and
Gap, I don't know, let'ssee. I think it's Barbie yeap and
like easy, easy breeze, likeeasy and fun. So like if you're
into fun, like I'm looking forthe fun element in the collection, That's

(02:58):
what I think will know, weshall see. Like I don't know if
you heard me say, but myBarbies weren't wearing Gaps, they were wearing
golls and well, oh, Oh, well, I guess what kind of
bar that was. Like, that'sa different question. What kind of Barbie
girl are you? Or like, which Barbie are you? I know that
when I was growing up, mymother was Adam and On Barbie Christie Dolls,

(03:21):
so that I had great examples ofgorgeous black women. So you know,
even though there was also you know, black Barbie dolls. So you
know, Barbie has one, youknow, has something for everyone. Maybe
this collection, well wars and thenthere's another collab well collaboration. No,
it's not a collaboration, but it'sa new capsule collection where we're bringing u
past back again because Tommy Hill Figureis paying homage to Andy Warhol and Warhol's

(03:47):
the Factory from the nineteen sixty sixties. Um so actually this past full consumers
experienced the creative of the Tommy Factoryin his full twenty twenty two campaign.
But he is so impressed with Andy'sfascination with pop culture that always captured the

(04:12):
heart and spirit of the American society. So the latest twenty eight piece homage
collection offers garments for both men andwomen inspired by the artistic energy of Montauk,
which is Warhol's famous seaside retreat. So there were products span from tops

(04:35):
and shorts to swimwear, footwear andaccessories like hats and bags. So let's
see what happens. Since the piecesembraced a theme of Princeton sunsets and oceans
and sunset suns and oceans because theymake me think of the beach and vacation,

(04:56):
which I love. So I feellike anything that brings me vacation feelings
into my life and wardrobe. Icould be here for yes. And our
last bit of fashion news is ofcourse a little bit sad. British fashion
designer Mary quant a And, whowas a key contributor to British the British

(05:17):
fashion invasion of the sixties, hasdied. She was part of the Swinging
sixties and women's revolution in fashion andis best remembered as one of the designers
that ushered in the mini dress, obviously a design that is still very popular
today. She studied at Goldsmith Universityand with her husband and friend Archie McNair,

(05:42):
opened the store Bazaar in London innineteen fifty five and it was a
very avant garde store with fashion, art, music and a bar, and
it became like a really hot meetingplace for you know, the celebrities of
the time, and there were severalstores and by the end of the sixties,
jac Penny was carrying her designs. She also got into cosmetics and makeup

(06:06):
and had makeup a cosmetic line, eventually bought by a Japanese company. So
Mary Quant was Wroun ninety three yearsold at the time of her desk and
we celebrate her contribution to fashion. And that's it for our fashion news Alert
this week. If you want tostay updated on the segments, you know

(06:28):
where to go fashion revereree dot com. So, guys, just recently I
discovered a delicious treat skinny Mixes. There are quite a few options here,
Salted caramel, Vanila Bean, chocolateto Marca and cinnamon doll chap Well,

(06:55):
great news. I have a founderof skinny mixes here with us, Jordan
Engleheart Hello, Jordan, Hello,Thank you for having me. Well,
thank you also for letting me tastesome of these delicious mixes. So I'm
excited because they also have no calories, but we can get to that at

(07:18):
later. However, tell me aboutyou starting skinny mixes and because you had
a previous career in real estate, and you left that job and started skinny
mixes in your mom's kitchen, right, am I? Right? I did?

(07:38):
Yeah, I know that's all correct. So I mean it all kind
of started by the idea of,you know, I think we can all
identify, you know, how youwould like a a margarita or a latte,
and they all just have so manycalories. So I was on a
mission. I was in in realestate and we were embarking on a recession,

(07:59):
and UM about myself with an opportunityto to create a line that I
thought that women and men would reallyenjoy and not have to choose between the
margharita or you know, the morninglatte and everything in between. So that's
that where that was the beginning. So when when we talk about margharitas,

(08:20):
are are those like a mixes thatyou you put in with a tequila and
make a cocktail or right, Sothis this is our new line of our
new natural margharita mixes. This isour classic flavor. So it's only thirty
calories. You just add the tequila, so it's a non alcoholic mix and

(08:41):
it's sweetened with a goave and reallime. Juice. So it's a perfect
way to have a naturally tasting localorie margharita. It does contain a little
bit of sugar because you know,to make it mimic the taste that people
you know tend to prefer with thewith the agave nectar. So this is
my new favorite. I add alittle bit of fresh line. But yes,

(09:01):
it's a non alcoholic mix. Weoffer four different flavors. We have
strawberry, key, lime, spicy, and peach. Oh that's great.
Um. And so you achieve locloriesby using um, agave and other natural
sort of sweeteners right right, soreal lime juice and a little bit of

(09:24):
stevia. Oh okay, um andso um, are you also looking to
expand your products as of course asas you just as you just show um
show showed the audience. UM theour new our new line which I guess
I don't have right here, ofthe naturally sweetened syrups we just presented or

(09:46):
just got on the shelves at Target. It's doing really really well. So
that is our newest addition and we'realways expanding on that. And then what
are well we don't we haven't,we haven't finalized that quite yet. But
but the okay, many more flavorscoming. But the way that the company

(10:07):
started was of course the cocktail mixes. And then we have a hundred different
items. So this is an itemfor coffee or for whateveryone to add flavor
too. So we have a fullline of coffee syrups. Like I said,
you can add flavor to anything. We have fruit flavors of blueberry,
lavender, so that's kind of whatan interesting combination. Yeah, so we

(10:30):
really have something for everybody, everythingfrom syrups to cocktail mixes. We just
launched our flavor birds. So thisis something that you can add. This
is our peach ring with added energy. You can add it to your water
or seltzer water or really anything youwant. Just a couple of drops goes
a long way and it has addedenergy. Oh that's great. That's great

(10:52):
post workouts, free workouts. Yeah, yes, absolutely so. We're so
we're always launching new items. Toanswer your question, This is our sauces.
This is actually our newest edition. This is our new peppermint Moca sauce.
It's like a it's like a toppingthat you can put on top of
ice cream. Or on top ofyour latte or really anything that you want

(11:13):
to add a drizzle to. Okay, And so what would be one of
your recipes that you use, I'dsay daily, maybe for your coffee or
for refreshment. Well, I lovethe I've loved my morning I can't do
without the morning coffee. Without alittle bit of syrup in my morning coffee

(11:33):
because it's it's It adds flavor,it transforms it, It makes it taste
like a gourmet latte. And ofcourse no calories and no sugar. And
what good flavor is that? Thisis my favorite flavor. This is salted
dark chocolate espresso. So it's gota little bit of salty and dark chocolate

(11:54):
flavor. So you know, itkind of tastes like a decadent dessert,
but without the calories or sugar.Oh okay, So that's how you start
your day. Yeah, and consumerslove it because they don't have to,
you know, spend all that timeand all that money in the drive through
and you get about twenty four servingsout of one of these bottles and it's

(12:15):
only seven ninety nine. That's great. So um, we just finished New
York Bridal Week and our editor inchief actually thought that it would be great
for brides looking to fit into ata very special bridal gown or even for

(12:37):
the bridal reception. What was sortof did you get any feedback from any
brides to be yes, we do, we do. Yeah, of course
it's it's a great way to notadd that extra sugar in the extra calorie
during your calories during your morning routine. So absolutely, and then you know,

(12:58):
for cocktails every once in a while, it's obviously nice to be able
to have a lower calorie cocktail andstill hit your cravings. And then I
just envision, you know, forbridal receptions. I mean, this line
is so pretty and there's so manyuses. It's so versatile. I mean,
vodka, SODA's, coffee bars.Um, we're having a lot of
success with people just using the syrupsand just half water. So there's just

(13:24):
so many uses in so many waysthat brides could eat, you know,
obviously not pack on extra calories, and and at bridal receptions it would be
very pretty. We really Yeah. It's also not forget that these could be
added to maybe a yogurt or somekind of out of foods. Yeah,
yogurt, people, bake with it. My kids and I just made some

(13:46):
cupcakes and added some of our newMermaids syrup to make ice Mermaid icing,
and that was really fun. AndI mean, yeah, what's a Mermaid
icing? Well, we have andI wish I had it here, but
I don't. We have a mermaidflavored syrup. It's kind of like a
blueberry frosted tasting syrup. So andit's got a really pretty turqoise color.

(14:09):
So yeah, we just added youjust add a little bit to some lower
sugar vanilla frosting and whip it upand you get very nice. Well,
Jordan, thank you very much forsharing a little bit more about skinny mixes.
I am looking forward to tasting therest of the ones that I didn't
try yet, and we'll see younext time I'm at Fashion Reverie. Thank

(14:35):
you very much. Well, itis one of my favorite times of year
again because number one, I getto talk to one of my favorite people,
Fashion Reverie editor in chief William Yes, yes, everywhere, that's right,

(14:58):
you know, I know what todo, and we are talking about
everything bridal. I think Bridal collectionsare my favorite fashion wakes. It's just
my favorite because I am, Idon't know, romantic, and the dresses
are so pretty, and I thinkI would wear like a bridal gown like
to all kinds of places. Likeyou know, I'm gonna keep I'm gonna
keep working on myself. But Imean, they're just so many places,

(15:18):
so many different types of gowns, and you can wear them so many places
exactly, you know, unlike whatmost people think when you go to bridle
shows, it's not just a typicaltraditional bridal dress. It's a bridal gown
for a lot of different taste. And there's bridal collections and because you know,
brides now don't just have one gownfor the wedding. They have the

(15:43):
reach, they they have the bridleum rehearsal dress, they have the reception
because they want to be able totake off the gown and put on the
dress that they can dance in.I mean, I was talking to Mark
Ingram, who was on our bridalshow last time, and he told me
this season he's getting some of theseconsumers are buying five to seven dresses for

(16:04):
their bridles. I mean, youcould have a lot of I know,
for my wedding, we had abrunch the following day, you still have
to look like the bride. Soit's a lot. It's a lot.
It's a lot. And I wentto so many bridal shows for the Bridal
Week. Got was so tired, but it was worth it. It was

(16:25):
worth it. This was an incredibleSpring twenty fourth season. And for those
who don't know, when you goto Bridle Week, you're always seeing bridal
gowns a year in advance because bridesplanned their weddings typically a year or more
in advance, so those gowns haveto be ready to be in the bridal
boutiques so that the brides can makedecisions. So in like Fashion Week,

(16:48):
where we see the collections three orfour months in advance, bridal it's a
year in advance. So what wesaw last week is Bridal Week ended a
week ago. Was for Spring twentytwenty four? Well, were there any
major trends that you saw of thingsthat were either new or different or you
know had comeback but you really likeWell, of course, we're seeing the

(17:11):
big slits in the in the skirtof the gowns again because you know,
brides want to show off those twelvehundred dollar bridal shoes in the photos.
So the slits are back, notas much as I saw it in the
in the fall, but the slitswere back. But let let's go to
Madeline. Madeline the show you withMe too, And unfortunately you couldn't go

(17:33):
this year to each other um cicilyand let me tell you, it's a
bridal breakfast and so we get downwith the food while the brides, while
the models are walking around the beautifulcollections. And it was at the t
K Steakhouse on forty third Street, and the food was delicious, delicious,
And Madeline did an incredible collection thisseason, a little bit more traditional than

(17:59):
it was teachings. So last seasonthere were lots of there were black dresses
and different colored bridal gowns, whichyou tend to get into winter collections more
than in the spring collections. Butthis year she kept the collections a little
bit more traditional but still gorgeous, lots of detail, lots of embellishments,
not a lot of trends so muchso this collection could carry on for a

(18:22):
couple of seasons in the bridal boutiques, so it won't just be based on
a trend with fade and go inand out. But This was an incredible
collection. Beautiful, beautiful embellishments onthe bodices, beautiful princess gowns, a
couple of hit to flare gowns.I didn't see a lot of mermaid silhouettes,

(18:42):
but beautiful nonetheless, and really, these gowns will sell, will sell,
They will do very well in themarket. I like those off of
the shoulder sleeves. I like thatone that looked like I had like the
floral the floral like yeah she didhave yeah, yeah, the one with

(19:02):
the pink and green I guess floralembellishment sewn in. Yeah, it was
gorgeous. That was stunning in themwith the like sleeve, the off the
shoulder sleeves. There's a few,and I'm sure our consumers who have the
video part of this podcast can seetheir collection the image right we have right
now. But let me tell younothing is better in seeing that gown move

(19:26):
in person. No, well, that looks like a lovely classic collection and
a lot very much fine, thatversatility, but that kind of classic elegant
styling that they might be looking for. They might be able to addresses or
a dresses, yes, dresses plural. So who else are you going to

(19:48):
talk about today, I'm Nancy Sancho. Oh, hands down, she is
the queen. She is the queenof bridal collections and bridal where And this
was entitled Symphony fifty four, whichwas a reflection on her fifty fourth collection.

(20:11):
Can you believe she's had fifty fourcollection? That is quite an accomplishment.
And I took it a bit further. She didn't really say this in
the line notes, but I saidshe made a reference to Hayden's fifty fourth
Sepon Symphony, which is called theSurprise Symphony. And she did have some
surprises in this collection. These werea lot of these garments were I called

(20:38):
them repurposeful bridal gowns. You canuse those gowns again for something else.
So if you want to go ona red carpet, which I know Cencily
you do, you can use someof these gowns on red carpets. There
were a lot of multicolored gowns. She had this beautiful Halster gown that was

(20:59):
incorporating a out of the ruffele trendsthat was in a blow flue blow a
blue floral um fabric. It wasjust gorgeous. And then she had this
one gown I think it was calledPisi Kata. That was the Pisi Kata
rather, that was the name ofthe gown. That's a red carpet that's
for a woman who wants to besexy, and a gold embellish dress.

(21:22):
And then says, hey, I'mgetting married in this dress, and I
got I got a nice event togo to next week. I'm gonna wear
this dress again. So those werethe surprises. I'm calling them surprises because
it was a bit of a support. But it's always I Nancy Santo knows
how to incorporate trends. She knowshow to create garments. And in my

(21:44):
article I opened up by saying thiscollection was options, options, options.
You have options with her collection. So whatever your taste is, Nancy Santo's
has it. You just better havethe deep pocket to be able to afford
it because her guy dad you tosay, well, certain bidal collections prices

(22:08):
it's a little up there. Butif you save your money and Nancy Santo,
that's designer to go too. Ilove it now, you know,
obviously I'm already married and currently planningon saying that way. You're welcome.
Brad that's my husband. Um,but like that's that white? Like I
love a floral applica. I lovethe look of that, like corseted with

(22:30):
the floral applica, like you know, like I feel like those are so
those are classic, but they stillhave like those special elements you know that
will make you feel special or makeyour dress outstanding. And you can wear
white to other events. So youcould look for me in that floral applica
dress someplace or if you have allrenew your vows wedding. Yes, yes,

(22:52):
it is ten year anniversary. Thisis our ten year anniversary this year.
You know, are you listening? She needs another dress, another bridal
gal? I get so funny, but you know that might not be a
joke, Penny, So now youknow? Okay? Well I sat always,

(23:14):
always, always a highlight a fridlebridle week. Um, and who
else are we going to finally talkabout one word? Nardo's. Oh my
god, I had never heard ofthis brand? Did you know anything about
it? I received an invitation andI went and guess where it was?
Where in the grand ballroom of thePlaza Hotel. In the grand ballroom,

(23:41):
you better bring the goods to showin the in the Plaza Hotel. And
let me tell you, she broughtthe goods and more and more. I
was not familiar with this designer, but her name is Nardo's Emma. She's
from Eritrea. I think she's basedout of Dallas, and baby, she

(24:02):
brought looks for every part of yourbridal ceremony. From those poofy short cocktail
dresses, from the dresses with thestatement sleeves in, you know, reflecting
kind of is Mail Demarcos. Sheused to wear those kinds of sleeves.
I mean, the dresses are justunbelievable. The embellishment, the detail,

(24:23):
it was stunning, stunning, Imean it was just it was just more
than I could imagine. And tellyou something kind of funny. She had
a cocktail party before, so youknow, I'm getting my drink on with
my assistant, Stephanie, and wedidn't wait until the last minute to walk

(24:45):
into the actual ballroom because we weresocializing and getting our drink on. So
when we got in, there wereno available left. So me and Stephanie
were trying to figure out how we'regoing to see this collection. We don't
want to stand up. So herteam was so wonderful. They brought us
seats and gave us a place tosit down, and the models were walking

(25:06):
from behind where we were sitting outonto the grand ballroom floor. My assistant
turned her seat around so she couldsee the models and they came out of
the bag. So I was facingfront, she was facing back. It
was so funny. It was sofunny and taking and the gallants, which
is absolutely wonderful. And one thingI do want to emphasize is that,

(25:29):
you know, I want to giveItalian PR Louid Italian PR and Rachel Leonard,
who both started the Bridal Council together, which we are in Fashion Moby
we are a member of that. They were doing an incredible job and really
bringing so many wonderful designers to NewYork Fashion Week, but also expanding the
market to include designers of color. This season, I saw more designers of

(25:53):
color than I've ever seen in NewYork Bridal Week. You know, we
always curry marking Ingram, who wason show. Sicily you remember mark Ingram
and he's been designing for years. But there were so many designers of calm
color at this New York Bridal WeekSpring twenty twenty first season romy l Aleeee

(26:15):
as an Aventa bar Football pronounced hername correctly, who's Nigerian but based out
of Dallas. It was just unbelievablethe amount of designers of color they presented
a New York Fashion Week. AndI have to say this, they are
tapping into a market that is expanding. As you and I know, Sicily,

(26:37):
African American women are the most educatedgroup of people in America at this
current time. So though they holdthe most advanced degrees, which you are
one of them, sicily, andwhich means that if you're holding these advanced
degrees, you got some deep pockets. So they are really very smart.

(26:57):
A Bridal Council is reaching out tothose designers of color, bringing them into
the market because these designers of colorare really designing for all populations. But
they're giving other brides to be ofcolor a choice that reflects who they are.

(27:17):
Because I have to say, Ihave to tell you this. After
the Nardo show, the Bridal Councilhad a bus. Can you believe this?
They took all the bridal industry professionalsto the next show, which was
on ninety first in Madison at theNew Bridal boutique the essay at Zena Bar
which was an incredible Bridal collection,So we don't have time to talk about

(27:41):
that collection, but what they're doingto be inclusive and bring more people in.
I want to applaud the Bridal collection. There's all I got to say.
Well, that sounds that sounds wonderfuland amazing, and congratulation to Nardo.
What's her first name? Her nameis Nardo both ummmmm. I really

(28:04):
notice the silhouettes. That seems likea lot of like really fabulous silhouettes.
So if you wanted to make thatkind of statement when you entered into the
room and you want to do that, you know, exaggerated skirt silhouette or
a shoulder or something, you know, coming out to really announce yourself.

(28:25):
I think that there's a lot ofthings, a lot of things in the
collection that can let you make thatannouncement, which a lot of brides are
doing because it is their day, weekend months. Ye. Well, that
is wonderful. Thank you for goingto all of the shows so that we
can all know about the best aspectsof the collections for Bridal Week this year.

(28:48):
