Inside, I sit alone in the dimly lit chapel I use as a studio, my voice echoing in the silence as I prepare to weave another narration of terror. They call me Father Nightmare, a title earned through nearly a century of haunting and dark tales spun into the night. My real name has long been lost to time, my past obscured by a web of perverse violence, vile acts, and arcane knowledge.
What I will confirm to you is that in my youth I had been a chaplain in the military, a man of faith who believed in redemption and the power of prayer. But war has a way of stripping away ideals, leaving behind only the stark reality of survival.
The night that changed everything is etched in my memory. It was a night when we were encircled and ambushed in a small village, choking on air thick with the stench of smoke, and death, and desperate fear.
I remember the panic in the eyes of the young soldiers under my care, looking to me for a miracle as their faces contorted in agony. Their final moments soaked in horrors no human should have to witness. I tried to offer words of comfort, prayers of protection, but they were swallowed by the deafening roar of explosions and gunfire.
