FEMMES NOIRES TOXIQUES ET INSECURES
Lorsqu’une femme politique afrodescendante de haut vol est renvoyée à ses origines plutôt qu'à son argumentaire ou qu’une politicienne suisse juge de bon ton d’imiter une « mama africaine » dans le cadre de ses fonctions en 2022, il convient de s’interroger sur l’origine de ces associations d’idées qui sont présentes à de multiples niveaux dans la société suisse et dans les sociétés occidentales plus globalement. L’exotisme, la sauvagerie ou une intelligence inférieure sont encore trop souvent associés inconsciemment aux femmes* noires et afrodescendantes. Or, ces stéréotypes, s’ils ne sont rarement exprimés frontalement, finissent souvent pas se révéler au détour d’un lapsus, d’une mauvaise blague ou d’une parole maladroite. Alors, dans quoi ces stéréotypes puisent-ils leurs racines ? Comment reconnaître les biais existant, s’y confronter ou s’en libérer ? Cette conférence traitera de « l’histoire de la déshumanisation du corps de la femme noire » et sera donnée par une historienne.
