Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to First Issues, now, the weekly show
posted daily ish about only the newest first issues released
by insert comic company. Here this week, I'll be looking
at the comics released for the week of July thirtieth,
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Hi, y'all, I'm Sam Rossi the Casual Comicusts or whatever
age has decided. I am thank you again to my
brother the Comic Archive is for allowing me this opportunity.
We pick from the list of first issues for the
week of July thirtieth, twenty twenty five, and I've picked
Monster High Scare Week Chapter one. Before we get into

(00:39):
the meat of it, we want to acknowledge the artist
of this wonderful book on writing, Jacques Jacques, Jack.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I jacq I or Aye Jacques. That there is Jack
lapedis That's all? That? What the way had I was
trying so hard.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Color?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
There is Catherine Shootout and I'm lettering because we believe
lettering is an Artmela come ki lummy.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
How about al Kila mel?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I liked that? Will you go? Will you fix that
in post? Please?

Speaker 3 (01:19):
I honestly was thinking about just cutting off these two
completely and just using my opener to cover all of that. Whatever, No,
I still like you being the casual comicist.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Okay, here's the plot. Frankie, the daughter of Frankenstein, is
trying to figure out what she can event to bring
glory to the name of her father, Headmaster Frankenstein pronounced Frankenstein.
The other Goals as they are called, are going to
protest Scare Week because of the major sponsor is a
cosmetic group that tests products on animals and animal cruelty

(01:54):
is wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
By the way, did you read one of the signs
that they were holding up for picketing stop Animal Exploitation?
Which ten out of ten no notes?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, no notes. Long story short. They go on a
treasure hunt for Frankie's invention. They find the jewels, become
friends with the the imp guardian and head Home.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Who looks phenomenal by that that was great. I have
no fucking understanding of the Monster high verse, but the
sassy imp on the Throne I ten out of ten
no notes.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Ten outdan. I love her. I would like to see
more of her. Honestly, without knowing the past books, it's
still a good read. I did feel a lote with
some of the side stories, So there's that but it
did make me curious enough to maybe read the previous books.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Sort of like Gulia or whoever was apparently killed. Headmaster Frankenstein, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Well being brainwashed, and he said, going, huh, really, I.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Think that whole support group thing was actually really cool.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Did except for the the what's his name? The the
blue dude, so I would probably end up reading the
previous books. The artwork reminded me of the cartoons from
when the when the kids were younger and into shows
like this. The lettering was clear and crisp. I have
no issue reading the talking or anything right, and I

(03:18):
enjoy that in a comic book. You know, I don't
like bringing up lion O Pe, but lion o Pe
kind of, you know, was bad lettering, but I understood
everything but that word, and it only showed up one time,
and it was because it was too The o and
the question mark were too close together. So I go
with read it. You might get hooked to read more

(03:39):
or even check out the previous series. I'm probably going
to check out at least one of the other series
to see if I like it. I might go back
to the very first series to see if they are.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Congru it not congruit, continuous thank you, and canon with
one another.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
In canon is really what I was going with.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Well, I'm wondering if so, because you know what I
mean there, it does feel like there is a lot
of bad and yes, unlike with ThunderCats in Tower, I'm
gonna also read the comic that you read so we
can discuss thank you. I figured you would actually like this.
This feels very high school drama.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
It does.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
And I'm thirty eight years old. I'm going to be
thirty eight years old. No, we're gonna be thirty nine.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
You're gonna be thirty. I'm gonna be thirty six in
like two months anyways, three months, I'm yes, eight plus eleven.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
No, I'm over teenage drama when I have enough drama
in my life with adults.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
That's very fair.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
So yes, you know i'd probably read it justice, you know,
be entertained. But I also you know, forty pages there's
a lot to keep me entertained in a comic book.
The only you know, very few books should be that
long in my world.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Fair months are high. Final verdict.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Read it if you want an easy read, and you
might invest it into the plot. I'm kind of invested
I would like to know a little bit more. I
would like to know more about the protest. I think
I want to know more about the protest than the invention.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Animal cruelty is bad, yo, animal Stop animal exploitation.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Stop animal exploitation.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
All right, you have no idea how to close these
off to you not not yet say thank you people.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Thank you everybody.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
But maybe I'm wrong. Let me know what your thoughts
of this issue or even if I missed an issue
over on Facebook at the Comic Archivist, on Twitter at
AGC underscore does it all? Or Blue Sky at AJAC
does it all without any underscore? Don't forget to like, share,
a follow, and do all the other stuff that I'm
being told is important to continue doing these shows and

(05:51):
more than anything though stiggled and Inklings
